asmodeus bores me, all of the haha sex jokes in this show are so obnoxious so whenever they bring up that he's the Sex One my eyes roll outta my head. his design is…not at all my cup of tea but i won't say it's atrocious. the palette is unique, at least, by hellaverse standards. i liked him in his first appearance but he's since been declawed and now he's a weally nice guy actually who's all about consent and his wholesome chungus monogomous relationship, which is so fucking lame. could make a bigger post about him honestly. him and fizz are a couple of the saddest victims to 'super scared to write her blorbos being genuinely nasty' thing imo

mammon endeared me initially, but his mastermind appearance sucks. i like his design for the most part (centipede. why centipede. make him a funnelweb) and the fact he's clearly a silly guy on purpose. dresses like a jester by choice. he's evil, AND silly, that's fun. while he's a bit dense in his initial appearance, he's clever enough to know exactly how to manipulate fizz emotionally, and then in mastermind he's this big lumbering dumbass fat fuck who eats sloppily and he's gross and yucky and stupid ewww!! what a cool way to write your like, 1 recurring fat character vivzienne popsicle. lets make a joke specifically about how he has a big stomach. very cool his asexuality was clearly tacked on last-minute and he's clearly not written with that in mind, also kind of weird to canonise him as such when you're writing him to be this undesirable gross slob. i like him in theory, but he also says a lot about how viv views fat/asexual people and it's kind of soured me to him a little. shame. could go more into him, but i'll stop here.

we can't make beezlebub fat though, that's fatphobic! that's why she's thin! ik her design was a whole debacle and i don't care for it but i think it's blown a bit out of proportion. she's just another vivziepop design, i dont think she's uniquely terrible, maybe aside from being a bad rep of gluttony, but i saw more people talking about the bee thing than that. i do think it was kind of a huge mistake to make her so indistinguishable from hellhounds, biggest problem with her design imo. it's clear they wrote her to be deliberately really cool and likeable because she's Kesha, though. she's a typical nice popular party girl. i watched lps series with characters exactly like her when i was 12. sin of gluttony, don't overindulge though bro look after yourself :(

satan is inoffensive. i find him/his design to be kind of generic? but not overtly terrible. big dragon just feels a bit boring to me to who is apparently the penultimate sin, bar lucifer. admittedly, i kind of like the bit that he's got this little guy he listens too. big sucker for silly dynamics like that when they're played straight. wish i knew why the lil guy's robe kept changing colours, though. he's kinda wishy-washy and generic. don't get why any of the sins are intimidated by him when he gives stolas a slap on the wrist that stolas doesn't even have to grovel for, purely for being royalty lol. what's he gonna do to the sins if they step out of line? wag a finger at them? the whole 'he's lying about ruling before lucifer' thing was dumb and should've been caught before the episode went out.

lucifer i have enough to say about that it could probably also be its own post but to keep it short...ish, i think he's kind of inconsistent and weirdly written. they're really scared to write him as genuinely morally dubious and that's lame. they blended like 4 sexyman archetypes into 1 for him. he's so clearly y/n bait that it makes my eyes roll into the back of my skull…characters should get their y/n fiction naturally god dammit stop manufacturing sexymen in the lab!!! his design annoys me but i guess the whole 'pretty porcelain doll' thing makes sense and since he's a fallen angel, corrupted purity or something, wears symbols of himself (apples/snake) all over so Pride, like FINE, i get it, i still flick peanut shells at him though. thin ice. bitch

basically my favourite is like almost mammon i think but he's got weird uncomfortable connotations so i guess it's bephelgor because she doesn't exist enough to do anything to annoy me yet

it can be hard to persist in believing that things will change when life shows you something you don't enjoy. we are taught to believe that the order is life experience → new belief forms about life and ourselves → no control about what happens to us. but with the law, we get the opportunity to change this order to be new belief in imagination → life experience. our physical experiences can be awful, but they do not have to be our true reference point. in imagination, we are limitless.

something i think we often forget when our circumstances are being cruel to us is that you don't have to pretend that the 3D is different than it is. you don't have to pretend that your heart doesn't hurt, that your friends aren't being mean to you, or that things are any different in your life. you only have to accept that this change is real in your imagination. you can imagine anything, right? if i told you to imagine an apple, you would tell me, yup, i have an apple right here in my imagination. i wouldn't then try to convince you that you actually have the apple in your hands, because it isn't there (yet). you only have to accept that you do, in fact, have it in imagination, and you have to know that accepting it in your imagination is ALL YOU NEED TO DO to make it happen in your physical reality!

you don't have to pretend that your friends aren't being rude to you, or push down your feelings of hurt, because it will only make the painful feelings bigger if you deny them. it's okay to feel the sadness and hurt of human experiences - take care of yourself in the 3D, hug yourself, and remind yourself of your worth. as long as you are accepting that in imagination they are kind to you, then that is all you need to do. in imagination, you can accept anything, right? you can imagine them apologizing to you and hearing their apology in your ears, imagine them being sweet to you, anything that implies a better situation for yourself. give yourself, in imagination, what you wish to see, and if you at LEAST believe that you can see it in your minds eye, then you can know it can and will reflect!

a tangible thing i can give you to try is revision. lets say a friend was saying really rude things to you earlier in the day and it hurt your feelings. all you need to do is go into your imagination and visualize what you experienced earlier in the day, but this time change the scene/outcome. here are some examples of what you could imagine:

your friend says something mean, and then another friend says, "hey, there is no need to be so hurtful. they didn't deserve that at all!" then hear the friend who insulted you apologizing, see them look ashamed and realizing that they had hurt you.

imagine your friend never said anything mean to you at all, and instead replace it with what you wish you could have heard. "i'm so happy you're my friend," "i'm sorry for the hurt i've caused you, you mean a lot to me," or even just all of you laughing and having fun knowing that they are kind.

✮ Fyodor would hate seeing his little one upset. He wants to be in control of everything, if he can’t control whatever’s upsetting his little one then he’s not pleased. So he’ll control everything he can! He’ll keep his daughter in a comfortable environment, bringing her everything she needs. Blankets, stuffed animals, snacks, soothing lights, music, anything that could possibly be needed!

✮ Fyodor would never want to leave his little one alone. I’ve said before that I don’t think he’d be strong enough to pick someone up, he’d hate that fact as he watches his baby crying. However he’ll always try to coax her into leaning against him! Leaning on his shoulder, laying in his lap, any way that he can comfort her, he wants to do it!

✮ Vent regression can be scary, but he does everything in his power to make it comfortable for her! He’ll locks the doors to wherever they are to show her it’s just them, no one else can bother them, but they can unlock the door if they need out of course! He’ll just try to eliminate all stress factors he can to keep his baby comfortable and safe

✮ Vent regression can be a lot of crying, but he doesn’t mind! He’ll rub his daughters back as she sobs, then as she eventually calms down he’ll gently coax her into drinking some water! He doesn’t want her getting dehydrated from all the crying. Likewise I think if they know she’ll be dropping soon he tries getting her to drink water beforehand, they know crying will be coming. But they don’t always get a chance to do that part, and that’s ok!

✮ I think Fyodor would try learning her native language! (Only if she knows it of course). Fyodor is not good at learning languages, but he still puts in the effort! Especially if it’s for his darling daughter. He’ll use pet names native to her language and try learning some common phrases and questions! If someone is in a state of panic it can be nice to revert back to the language they’re the most comfortable with! (Coming from someone trying to learn Spanish. If I get anxious I can’t think anymore ｡°(°.◜ᯅ◝°)°｡)

✮ Likewise I think he’d also try teaching his daughter Russian! If someone is panicking, sometimes a distraction can be the best bet! He’ll calmly say a word in Russian and wait for her to speak it back in their common language! Not thinking about anything to do with what’s stressing her out. Or he’ll say a word and have her point to it! He’s adaptable to a non-verbal baby!

✮ I think Fyodor would try incorporating his daughter’s culture as much as possible! The familiar is comfortable, and he wants her to be comfortable! miu being the mastermind is something i had for my own rewrite like with my oc but also i really like the idea, we could also have her do something with kiibo at some point like install a virus on him or wtvr that would make him kill someone? because she operates on him in the game anyway so having her do so and then have that fall into place later but like not give him time to say somethingabout it is really fun to me

kirumi i dont really have a reason for her being the first victim other than im a sucker for kirukiyo and i think he'd be pretty distressed that she died (im being very self indulgent here but we can change this if u want to, idk ur opinions on kirukiyo so !!! its up to u), we could also do something where the murders happened at almost the exact same time so he could have saved her if he had just been somewhere instead of trying to kill someone for his sister to have another "friend" in the afterlife

So, to explain a bit:

Isagi and Bachira are them as based on colors: Mikado can be associated with blue or with a transparent color (as are the Dollars) and I think it's the same as Isagi (yes, I know that technically Isagi's color is green, I'm gonna ignore that, don't know how else to explain) both of them seem shy, maybe anxious people, but it becomes obvious that neither of them really is. They are both looking for something that can "change their reality", so I think Isagi's role makes sense (maybe.)

Bachira is yellow as Kida is yellow, both of them are easy going people, can be funny, can be very serious, they both hide their pasts pretty well (although their pasts are very different from one another). I think it fits.

About Nagi and Anri. We know that Anri considers herself as a parasite, and I think this can (faintly) be true with Nagi too. Now,I don't want to belittle the Nagi/Reo ship as a codependent, parasitic relationship (because it's not, not too much) but Nagi did attach himself to Reo only to then move to other people he considered stronger/better mates than Reo. Of course, Nagi and Anri are fundamentally difffrent in their personality, but yeah.

also, I'm not sure I explained well this idea, I don't know how to word rn, so Im sorry, if you have questions you can ask.

(I'm only at ep 3 of drrrr (I'm rewatching) so I don't know how Aoba and his brother's dynamic is, but I am sure that it is different than the Itoshi brothers (oh well)).

Barou gives me a lot of Shizuo vibes: they're strong, their temper is similar, but the problem is that Barou's source of anger is Isagi (mostly)

Of course, if Isagi is Mikado, he cannot be also Izaya (I don't want him to be, he's very different from Izaya (but then again, right now I cannot think about a bllk character who is similar to him, sadly)) so this one is a very unsteady idea.

ive tried to write women so many times but have failed to the point theres barely any female characters in my stories. and im very aware this is a flaw in my writing because i dont hang around women often and the only long term contact with a female i have is with my family members i dont know how to write female characters on a personal level because i can never relate to them. this sucks ass but correct me if im wrong i think its better to not write female characters at all than write a shitty possibly offensive one even if i dont realize it

Okay, here's my take on what you're saying. I know for a fact that the most difficult things to write are things/situations/environments we know so little about. And it's even harder to get it right when it's a more sensitive thing, if yk what I mean. A huge perspective shift like this is definitely a challenge because men and women are quite different.

Here's the thing. I'm not trying to pressure you into writing them, but I'm telling you that even if you have problems with them now, doesn't mean you have to give up on writing them completely. If not writing them at all is your final decision, then that's still okay, still your call in the end, but if you do want to write them, it's very possible.

I know I write both male and female characters, but the first time I ever officially wrote smth that wasn't for school, it was with a female protag because ultimately, I see the world from the eyes of a woman. When I decided to write a male character for a more serious project, I realised I needed to research it. And lemme tell you that again, not every piece of advice in a writing help article is always applicable. It's largely based on the author's own personal experiences. They're more like tips than rules you must adhere to.

Please note that I've spent considerable time around men I'm close to in my family, I had male classmates and currently have a friend who's a guy, so that definitely helps. And it's completely understandable that you haven't spent enough time around women to grasp more about them Ig. My male characters are not exactly copy-paste of these men/boys either, but some of their traits and mannerisms may be connected.

And you not relating to them is completely okay. I'm not very likely to relate to parts of my male character's life that come with him being a man, but what I can relate to is what makes him human. There is definitely an overlap in several traits between men and women. For example, the way I would feel angry abt smth would be different from how a guy Ik would feel angry about the same thing. The key is simply to avoid bad cliches.

Again, I'm not trying to get you to write them if you really don't want to. Forcing yourself to write smth you don't want to definitely won't help, and won't create good pieces of writing. But just in case you wish to in the future, you can practice and research and test it out, and fun fact, part of it involves a little bit of winging it. I've done this for like genres/ideas I haven't tried before, and surprisingly it actually works. But, tbf, it's a lot more difficult when the issue at hand is the opposite gender.

And answering your last question, while it doesn't mean you must give up completely and you will never be able to do it, I can agree that no representation is better than a poorly represented character. Though, there is a chance you might be too harsh on yourself, since Idk exactly what any female characters you've written are like.

And about my reblog on that post abt writing women, Ig it was more aimed at people who've never tried or misrepresent women by applying a crap ton of harmful stereotypes to them. You seem to have made a genuine effort, so that's a pretty good thing.

HIHI SO SORRY FOR MY LATE RESPONSE ON THESE ASKS!! Kinda got in the way so I didn't have time to ramble.... BUT NOW I DO!! mwahaha

Rowan found out he had autism at ages 14-15. He sought out diagnosis because he got peer-reviewed about it 💀 like straight up his friends and people around him told him they thought he was autistic. Not in an insulting way, in a genuine "get a screening" way. The reason his parents didn't get him a screening earlier or even think he was autistic was the fact that they are ALSO undiagnosed neurodivergent, which made them assume his behaviors were normal. (Neither of them seek out diagnosis themselves)

I'd say he struggles the most with being overwhelmed/overstimulated. He loves music- and can handle a loud environment when it's loud music (that he enjoys), or handle a loud environment when he's comfortable and having fun, but most of the time he's quickly overstimulated. It doesn't take long for him to shut down in a loud environment, no matter what it is. Other things like crowds or crowded spaces have the same effect on him. He REALLY needs noise-cancelling headphones so he can manage life better, but he doesn't get any until Lynn gifts him a pair at his birthday meeting. (Which is so much later than he should've had some-) Even then he will forget to bring them around lmao. Poor guy thinks he can thug it out. (He literally shuts down)

He himself doesn't know a lot of what he struggles with- since he's been making all his life. Part of why a lot of girls go undiagnosed is the fact that other girls will *make* you mask, which I think played a part in Rowan's late diagnosis. He was forced to mask- and he has good memorisation skills so he would memorize social cues and social rules he learned as he grew up. Even if they didn't make sense- he would make sure to learn from the times people looked at him weird or called him rude. A lot of stuff he doesn't even know he struggles with or is a symptom. He chalks everything up to being "how it is" when it most definitely is NOT how it is.

He has two special interests (that are also my own)- marine biology.... and fandom culture. IK THE SECOND ONE SOUNDS CRAZY BUT LISTEN. LISTEN. It's specifically fandom culture and studying how people act in fandoms. What behavior begins, why things are done, the social landscape and how different demographics act differently. Especially the odd behavior and why the HELL that stuff happens! Really, you could call it a fascination with human behavior (which he also really enjoys), but his specific special interest is in how people act in fandoms and why (he loves knowing about the oddities and what motivated those people to act in such a way as a fan)

This is a reason he's such good friends with Alicia- since they both like to study people and their behaviors. In very different ways, but they can still relate to each other and talk about things.

With marine biology? Don't even get me STARTED on that. Rowan could go on for hours and hours and hours about his favorite facts, animals, you name it. He accidentally rambles about it all the time. He always has a fun fish fact, I can assure you. He's most interested in the deep sea, and deep sea exploration. His favorite sea animals are the ones found deep under the water, and he's OBSESSED with learning about how they've adapted and how they live so far down. Many people find the things that live in the deep sea horrific- but he loves it ALL. The creepier and weirder they look, the more intrigued he is. The more he wants to know. He wants nothing more than to have a hand in the discovery of *more* of these beautiful creatures!

As in Seonghwa, I think he'd appreciate the "moon disguised as sunshine" personality a lot, just like he could share interests with your artistic skills and nerd media (bonus if you like Lego). He seems to be someone who'd be attracted by someone's intelligence as well and the fact that you know/are learning so many languages would be a plus

I personally think Soobin would love to share your nerdy interests as well, mainly gaming! And your dynamic would be very very cool as well, especially the dog person + cat person duo. You're kinda opposites but not too much so you can't tolerate each other lmao, the difference between you guys is on point. Although I believe they wouldn't focus on appearances, you're somewhat close to what I believe would be his physical ideal type.
