very excited for people to see how all of these characters have changed in subtle ways due to either maturity in nuance or dissatisfaction with the original portrayals, but i think i'm most excited for people to read about valerie this time. which, possibly may be because this book is centered around her, but i just feel like she's gained some good depth. all of her traits are still there, for better or worse, but there's definitely an added realism that i'm really proud of ♡ and i hope is better understood this time around.

I actually have my own private playlist (forgot I had one lmao) of this fic!! I do recommend giving these songs a chance because not only are they good, they are some of my main inspiration for writing some scenes. The lyrics fit the story line for real! TRUST! Bad Habits - Steve Stacy [This song is actually my main inspiration for the fic title. I had this idea in my head for so long, then this song came into my shuffle as I was driving and thinking of it, and then I was like “you know what, I AM writing and publishing this fic.” The title is a play in words. I mentioned this in my notes before but the phrase “I bite my tongue” is when someone holds their words or stops themselves from saying what they want, which is the main theme of the story. But I thought it was funny to say “I bit” instead because it’s silly to think someone wanting to say something so bad and then they just bite their tongue by accident. “Loser Stan,” I whisper into the void]

IFHY - Tyler, The Creator [This story has a lot of themes of jealousy so how could I NOT add this! I was actually listening to this song as I was writing chapter 6, and it even inspired the title for it! I mainly was thinking of this song in Stan’s POV, especially in that scene with Craig and Kyle, but the more you learn about Kyle’s character and POV in future chapters, you start to realize that this song really fits him too. Jealous Stan but possessive Kyle anyone? LET ME COOK]

Come Here - Dominic Fike [Im pretty sure this counts as spoilers but not really, but this song is the inspiration for chapter 11’s title! We’re still in Kyle’s POV and I feel like it really fits his desire for Stan in his POV. Plus, this song might be short but it’s one hell of a banger! 10/10]

Mistakes Like This - Prelow [Love this song for real! I feel like some of the lyrics could fit IBMT Stan but others fit Kyle more, in the end, I decided to settle to Kyle’s POV. Actually, this one is the inspo for chapter 9’s title!It talks about drunken love spurs so it’s immediately STYLE coded to me!!!]

Structure - Odd Sweetheart [YES!!!! This is the song that was sang in chapter 8 and there was even a whole ass animatic MADE with it! Yay, thank you Lyn!! And of course, it’s also the chapter’s title! BUT SERIOUSLY— Stan singing this song as he’s realizing his feelings for Kyle!!! I JUST- Auuuugghh!! I hate those idiots in love!]

Let’s Go - Stuck in the Sound [Yet another song that gets sang on chapter 8! This is actually the first song they play in their garage performance setlist because I feel like the lyrics really paint a picture to Stan’s dilemma in the beginning of the story to his now, current state. Yeah, you know that scene, mhm mhm🙂‍↕️, Stan was singing this babey!! It fits IBMT and it’s an actual head banger? 😎HELL YEAH]

I Got Drunk - Miya Folick [I LOVE MIYA FOLICK and I LOVE this song!! It’s STYLE coded and genuinely so freaking underrated!!! Any scenario where Stan gets drunk and confesses his feelings for Kyle is deadass THIS song!! I kinda want to write a one shots out of this one on god! EVERY STYLE SHIPPER SHOULD LISTEN TO IT! I PROMISE ITS THEM! IN THIS ESSAY-]

I know a lot of people get tired about hearing Stan’s drinking problems, but at the end of the day, a big part of his character is that he’s prone to fall into addicting habits (wether it’s hoarding, gambling, freemium, alcohol, etc). SO YES!! This song 100% DOES fit!!

I Want You - Mitski: I love Mitski so much! I do believe it fits them but I don’t know who’s POV exactly cuz it could go either or, so please let me know your opinion! I do love the inclusion of First Love/Late Spring, Stan’s POV goes BRRR on that one! What do you think of Old Friend being in Stan’s POV and Why Didn’t You Stop Me? being Kyle’s POV? 👀 I think it fits hehe. Shame is also a good one and I was actually listening to it as I was writing chapter 5 (you can actually tell because I hinted the lyrics in the first couple of paragraphs of it haha). Go figures!! As you can tell, I have a lot of Mitski songs in my library because my bestie is a BIG fan of hers, so she’s always listening to her. They really need to fix their shit so they can go back to being all cringe and lovey dovey!!! I’m getting pissed off, maybe I SHOULD finish writing chapter 11!!

Futuristic just doesn’t fit my vibe at all lol, plus it’s kind of boring. I’m a huge fan of history and vintage things! Always have been

I haven’t written many closing scenes yet, but I feel like I would be much much better with them as compared to the opening scene.

3. Light and fluffy vs. Dark and gritty

I thrive off of the drama I give my characters lmao, give me angst any day

Hot tip: I’m a big sucker for cheesy Hallmark romance movies and I’m not afraid to admit it ;p

I honestly have no idea. I haven’t read or written enough fantasy or done enough research in order to really form an opinion on this

7. Standalone or series?

I don’t have any plans on writing a series. Right now I prefer to write standalone novels that have enough potential set up for a sequel if I so desire to write one in the future. I feel like that’s a happy medium between the two

8. One project at a time or always juggling 2+?

I’ve said this before, but I like to dedicate all my love and attention to one story at a time. I can’t imagine trying to juggle any more than that, so huge props to those who are able to!

10. Fantasy or sci-fi?

Fantasy! By far. Im so sorry, but sci-fi is just so boring to me 😂

11. Character or setting description?

I feel like I’m good at both. Characters have my heart but I’m also good at describing things! Especially places.

World building though… uuuuuggggghhh 😂 I HATE it. Like I need to do it because I don’t usually set my stories in an actual real life town or country, but still. It’s hard as fuck and I dread doing it.

12. First or final draft?

Oooh boy, I’ve got enough to say about this to write a whole post and start a little conversation 😂

The short of it though, is this. As of right now, I like investing all of the love, planning, and care that I possibly can into my first drafts. That way it’ll resemble the final product and I’ll save myself future frustrations. Quality over quantity, pay attention to all the little details, and focus on making the story exactly as how I see it happening. That’s my personal attitude towards this, and that as a result does make me a slow writer which sucks ass. But hey, you can’t have it all right?

Besides, the payoff seems worth it to me in the end. I’d rather have a first draft that I enjoy instead of something I hate and will have to rewrite and edit to death.

13. Literary or ‘commercial’ genre?

Both? Neither? As a reader, I don’t really look at one vs the other. I just enjoy stories that I enjoy.

As a writer though, my talents tend to be with literary, character focused stories

14. Love triangle in everything or no romantic arcs?

I tend to not enjoy romance outside of the actual genre itself. I typically avoid writing it in my own stories. It’s only when I can’t imagine a certain pair of characters being separated that I include romance. Usually though I don’t enjoy it as a writer and reader. I like to focus more on showing interesting family dynamics and strong platonic relationships.

15. Constant sandstorm or rainstorm?

Both of these choices sound evil to me. Give me sunny and 75 degree weather by all means 😂 Buut if I had to choose, I’ll take the rain because I’ve never been in a sandstorm before.

oh my god, DO I. this may have been the best ask in the world. i’m not really sure what u want a feel for, so i threw together some of my favorite longfics for maximum veg time from the ot/pt and links for swr and swtcw recs. they’re pretty much all luke-anakin/vader centric, since that’s kinda my bread and butter.

let’s start with frodogenic, who wrote the first longfic i ever read in sw and might be one of the funniest authors ever. they once reviewed my fanfic & i nearly cried from joy. anyway. 

The Father, 284k+, complete. “Ten years after ROTS, tormenting nightmares of his unborn child drive Darth Vader to extraordinary measures with unexpectedly drastic consequences. Clearly, experience has taught Darth Vader nothing...” 

this is my og star wars fic and boy oh boy is it amazing. i will never get over this. i don’t want to spoil anything but when i say the final chapters are great? i mean they’re legendary. sometimes i still think about them & wish upon a star that i could be such a great writer. vader’s amazing, han is spectacular, and the ocs are fantastic.

Far More Than Rubies, 70k+, complete. “Nine years after AOTC, tragedy revisits the Lars Homestead. Little Luke Skywalker is suddenly plunged into chaos as the rebel movements discover a secret military project that may make a crucial difference in the war with the Empire.”

the spiritual twin of The Father, FMTR takes a look at padmé’s character and relationship with both luke and anakin/vader that’s hard to beat. it’s darker and heavier than The Father, but it hits those same sweet, sweet emotional beats while raising the age-old question: if padmé had lived, what would she have done?

The Family Tree, 12k, complete. “In which Luke Skywalker is stranded in a tree waiting for a flash flood to recede. Too bad he's got company...”

okay, i admit, this isn’t a longfic, but it is a longshot, and it’s amazing. the imagery and description always blow me away, and the interaction (canon-compliant) between luke and vader just [chef’s kiss] get me. vader’s in full, glorious form, and it makes it all the harder when luke wrestles with the knowledge that vader is his father.

Sibling Revelry, 25k, complete. “After Bespin and before Endor, Darth Vader is shocked to discover that Luke and Leia are twins. He's even more shocked when Imperial Intelligence reports that Organa and Skywalker are, erm, a tad closer than previously suspected.”

this is complete crack and humor in the best way possible. it’s crack treated entirely seriously, and you will be in stitches, i promise. no matter how many times i’ve read this i break down.

KittandChips (@kittandchips) writes what i can only describe as food for the soul. the luke-vader interaction is insanely amazing, the world building of daily imperial life and imperial governance is amazing, and vader just has a special je ne sais quoi that u must read to understand––tragic, funny, and so, so fatherly. they’re currently rewriting the Force Bond Series to fit in with newer canon, so i will joyously binge reread the entire again (including the new Force Bond: Mustafar Weekend).

Force Bond 1: Orphan, 47k, complete. “After Owen and Beru are killed by a mysterious stranger, young Luke ends up as an orphan on Coruscant. It's a race against time as Obi-Wan struggles to find Luke before Vader realizes the boy is his son.”

Orphan kicks off the series, which tracks vader and luke’s relationship through the perils of luke’s teenagerhood while growing up under the eye of the emperor and imperial court. it’s filled with slow growth, struggle and misunderstandings as darth vader tries to single parent, and pay off in every installment. the entire series clocks in around 777k+ and is the most joyful, fulfilling reading you’ll ever have. promise.

darth-nickels (@darth--nickels) writes darker, twistier, and terribly, terribly heartwrenching aus. they’ve got a whole host, but let me introduce to my two favorites. also, check out their faux-academia on vader. it’s amazing and i love it, but i admit i am an academia hoe.

Dooku Captured, Pt 2, 16k, complete. “Dooku is taken alive onboard the Invisible Hand, and Sidious' web is torn. The Sith Lord wonders if death might have been preferable to clumsy interrogation by Anakin Skywalker.”

Dooku Captured is a longshot au told from Dooku’s pov which takes the beginning of ROTS and throws it on its head. it’s a fascinating outside perspective of anakin and obi-wan’s relationship and such and interesting examination of dooku’s psyche and especially his complex relationship with the jedi order, qui-gon, yoda, and palpatine. i cannot rec this one enough.

Black Mirror, 90k, incomplete. “The Ghost crew returns to the Lothal when they hear the Empire is investigating the Jedi Temple there. They learn Vader is alone and decide to take him out-- but what they find could change the course of Galactic history.”

Black Mirror diverges into swr territory, but make no mistake: this is entirely an examination of vader and, later, obi-wan as well as ahsoka. luke makes his appearance later in the game, and boy oh boy will you love luke’s portrayal is a microcosm of luke and vader’s relationship within canon. heed the tags, though.

jerseydevious ( @jerseydevious ) is, first and foremost, one of my favorite people on earth. secondly, though, she’s an amazing writer with a deep understanding of vader’s character and psyche, a flair for beautiful depictions, and the true ability to wring every emotion out of your body.

Two and a Half Men (with a baby), 13k, incomplete. “After a long day of bargaining with Hutts and attempting to ignore his past, Darth Vader is nearing the end of his rope. When he discovers his two-year-old son, it's the straw that breaks the semi-rational Sith Lord's back; in a rash act worthy of the Skywalker name, he scoops his son into his arms, steals a shuttle from his own fleet, and punches in random hyperspace coordinates to a destination on the other side of the galaxy. Unfortunately, father and son are not the only ones on the ship.”

Two and a Half Men will stick with you, dude. like no other. i promise. it’s a whirlwind ride with obi-wan, vader, and piett and as funny as it is heartbreaking. it touches on some heavy issues and doesn’t shy away from looking at the damage done to vader––again, heed the tags.

Helioseismology, 4k, complete. “Luke gets shot down on a supply run and caught in an ice storm. It's extremely lucky that his father followed him there.“

i’ll admit. im completely biased about this one because it was a birthday gift to me and i am sucker for litcherally anything when jd puts pen to paper, but believe me when i say you will be awed by the depth and tangled relationships between these luke and vader that jersey can illustrate in a stroke of the paintbrush. im love. always.

izzythehutt ( @izzythehutt ) i am blown away by the intricate dialogue and characterization, always. and the latin puns? im sold. im also a sucker for latin puns, but that’s a story for a different time.

In Loco Pirates, 34k, complete. “A down-on-his-luck Hondo Ohnaka manages to capture the unicorn of all bounties--Luke Skywalker, which sends Darth Vader, Lord of the Sith, on a painfully familiar trip to the planet Florrum to collect his prize. The failed negotiations leave Vader in the awkward position of being stuck in a besieged pirate bunker, trying to balance keeping his wayward child safe (and in his custody) with controlling the tongue of a loose-lipped pirate who--to the surprise of no one--has a bad habit of telling 'amusing' anecdotes from the Clone Wars.”

hondo, aka the best character of swtcw, is brought to life just as vividly on paper as on screen. his entire personality brings luke and vader’s difficulties in a sort of incredulous light, which makes it as funny as it is vulnerable and tragic. the sequel, Palpatine Ad Portas, brings piett into the spotlight, and oh man do his interactions with palpatine and vader bring u all the uncomfortable vibes. relish in it.

sparklight ( @littlesparklight ) man. lemme introduce u to an amazing prolific and detailed writer. i will never get over the series they’ve written & neither will u.

Where Our Intrepid Hero Doesn’t Get Away, 122k, incomplete. “One-shots surrounding either AU situations of canon/legends works where Luke would normally have gotten away (or Vader is simply inserted into the action to come pick his child up) but in these instances doesn't, or completely new scenarios of the same. There are no deep ruminations on consequences of the situations here, just our awful Sith dad picking his son up when he'd rather not be.”

exactly what it says on the tin. u know those glorious moments of fanfic where luke’s gotten captured and ur on pins and needles, waiting for vader to show up in a moment of dark glory? here’s the moment. here’s all the moments.

Space Race, 122k, incomplete. “Owen gives in to Luke's wish to attend the Imperial Academy and Obi-Wan is too late to avert it, though he's not too late to make sure Luke leaves Arkanis before Vader can gets his hands on him. Luke spends over a month running around the galaxy before his father gets him, and from there...”

this story relishes in chase and boy is it fun. it will keep you on the edge of your seat and it’s an amazing ride.

The Suns of Tatooine, 85k, complete. “Luke ends up on a moon swamped in dark side energy after a mission goes wrong, then his father appears... and then they go on a bit of a learning experience. This could've been the only thing that would come of getting through a Sith complex with his father, but thanks to going to free Han earlier than the gang did otherwise, more revelations are had. Will that change anything?”

this series is a thoughtful, contemplative piece examining the nature of the force and the relationship the skywalkers have with tatooine. the descriptions are beautiful, the inventiveness is amazing, and you’ll be thinking about it for long afterwards.

an additional few…

Between Flight and Longing; 34k, complete. “Luke Skywalker and Han Solo journey to the planet Balen'ar on a desperate mission and find more than they'd bargained for.”

a classic and it is for a reason. the interaction between han, luke, and vader is so spectacular and the slow trudge of going through the forest with your greatest enemy and best friend is something hilarious. the end is bittersweet and fantastic.

The Sith Who Brought Life Day, 13k, complete. “An Imperial officer loses a bet and has to get Darth Vader a present for Life Day.”

somewhere between terrifying and dull, this fic presents a canon-compliant look at the hunt for luke and the grinding wheels of the empire. the oc is amazing and it echoes in true star wars spirit: sometimes it’s just some dude who can change the galaxy.

So, what was your inspiration for House of the Rising Sun? (I feel like you've told us before, but PLEASE go off and get deep with it!) Like why'd you chose the mafia setting/AU? What made you decide that Evra would be a bartender and The Cirque would be a bar? Just ALL that, I love knowing those deep details that don't always transfer from the mind to the page~!

Oh boy, I love this question. Thank you Nom, I always love an excuse to ramble. So there's a few set of factors that led to House of the Rising Sun, and I think one of the first would be my bizarre obsession with The Godfather in middle school. (Side note: Who the hell put that book in a MIDDLE SCHOOL LIBRARY???) This developed into a fascination with mafia history, no doubt fueled by my friendship with @evil-dad-evil (Thanks Lucien lmao), and one strange story about Jon Gotti from my dad, but thats a text post all its own. Regardless I just always thought it was neat is the basics.

The mafia au for Cirque du Freak just seemed like it would work well with a mafia au already, the vampires/vampaneze being rival families, all that jazz. It was one of those things that just clicked in my head. Of course, I thought was going to be perfect. Obviously, it wasn't, it saw two different rewrites before it got to where we are now, without a truly solid plot, it was bad. Probably because the first two attempts happened when I was in 8th grade. It wasn't until after I graduated high school and quarantine kicked this fandom up into high gear that I got it to actually be a decent fic.

This go round was the first time I had titled it "House of the Rising Sun", named for the song by The Animals, because it gave me the vibe of "I am in the mafia and i just shot my best friend and betrayed him and now im driving away from the funeral" and yes I know that is so, so weirdly specific. But the biggest help was when I had a thought of, "What if Wester and Darren met?" and what really kickstarted it was talking with an old rp partner (@maculaxsanguinis I love you and I miss u homie) and i had the thought of "Hey you know what would be fucked up? Wester framing Darren for Alicia's murder" and I got so stuck on that, that HoTRS had to be written. The "Darren gets framed" chapter was the thing I had looked forward to writing the most and I had been so excited about it, you have no clue how hard it was not to spill the beans in the discord. I actually wrote that chapter before the fic had even had it's first chapter thought through, though the original draft was not the chapter I ended up posting. It was the whole reason I ended up making the fic to begin with, and credit to my old friend as they were actually the one to come up with the "I do not know what you are capable of anymore." That hurt both Darren's and my own feelings.

Of course deciding to write that meant I had to figure out how to get there to begin wity, and with the vampires and vampaneze serving as rival families, I had to figure out what to do with The Cirque itself. Making it a bar seemed like this easiest option, giving a place for the story to start, and making Evra a bartender was bc... Well, I wanted Bartender!Evra but also, it gave Darren a way in. Darren talks to Larten at his suggestion, and Evra has no clue the amount of chaos that that will lead him into. That, and seeing as Darren's friendship with Steve has quickly been yeeted, (I made HoTRS!Steve kind of unhinged now that I think about it lmao) he's a good support for Darren, even if I'm not confident in how I write either of them. Not to mention someone who was on the outside of it all who still knew what was going on, which made for some great banter in certain chapters. (The exchange between them before the hit on Murlough is still gold to me.) But also, it's someone close enough not be too effected by everything, but still close enough to get hurt somehow.

But that's the story for how HoTRS ever ended up even so much as an idea in my head, and we've got @evil-dad-evil to thank for fueling my weird mafia obsession, and @maculaxsanguinis to thank for helping me plan one of the most dramatic, and possibly best scenes I ever wrote.

Small update regarding Paperjam in tcoti

okay so just to let you all know

I started the council of the inevitable a year and a half ago, and i was not in touch with the fandom at ALL. I didn’t even get onto tumblr until the summer of 2019 but the point of this is

I hate how I characterized PJ.

I hate it I hate it I hate it.

I didn’t really have any social medias other than Instagram at the time so all I was exposed to in terms of Paperjam was a that one comic by blogthegreatrogue that’s in repost hell on every social media on the planet. It was the one where PJ is portrayed as a hyperactive little 3 foot tall toddler. That’s just how I thought he actually was.

Also it’s been quite a while since I first published tcoti, so a lot has changed with the fandom in general since then. I was 16 and a half when I started it, and had tiny PJ in my head (I made him 28 because i wanted to emphasize that their lifespans are way longer.)

But basically, as I read it I can see the shift in quality over the years, and I’ve also learned a lot of things since first joining this fandom.

Im not gonna go back and rewrite chapter 3 because i have better things to be doing with my life tbh. Also I am well aware he canonically only eats art supplies but i just dont personally vibe well with that and also this whole story is super off canon anyways so uh yeah. he still eats crayons and stuff, but like - he can like,,, eat and taste things normally, because his brother can as well idk. With the world I’ve created it just feels weird to have him eat tubes of paint.

So I’d say just attribute the hyperactive behavior in chapter 3 to a sugar high or something. I do have him as friends with Fresh in my story (and just friends) so maybe he was just having  fun. Or just ignore PJ in that chapter completely idk. Maybe I will work up the courage to rewrite it one of these days to better fit in with how he’s gonna be for the rest of the story, because he does play a rather major role.

I need to talk about this cause I have no friends and my roommates are mean.

Here's some details I just wanna talk about:

- Edward is written as depressed and suicidal, but in the way that he just doesn't want to live, but isn't necessarily trying to die. We cover this in the first two chapters.

- Speaking of the first two chapters, romance doesn't come in for a while. I didn't like how fast everything was in canon; we go from girl sees vampire, vampire obsesses over girl, girl meets vampire, girl and vampire are immediately together.

- The beginning of the story focuses on Edward dealing with thoughts of how he's nothing but a monster and that he sees himself as dead, or should have died. Sad boi hours ™

- And he proceeds to ignore his thirst and pretty much stops hunting altogether. Carlisle doesn't push, but he does try to subtly put Edward in situations where he has to hunt (telling him he needs to go with Jasper after school to avoid any issue/calling him out of school for an hour so he has an excuse/no option but to go)

- Edward's deterioration in health is purely my stupid imagined way a vampire might slowly start to "die" from starvation

- His vision will blur and he'll get dizzy if he moves too fast or pushes himself too far

- He's easily tired

- At one point, he can't read minds without getting headaches

- In the first chapter, instead of hunting like Carlisle intended for him to do, Edward just plans to sit in the woods for an hour and just vibe

- But he hears, never actually sees, a wolf; reads it's mind and it thinks about killing him

- And of course, the iron deficiency equivalent of vampire starvation gets the worse of him and he almost passes out, the 'wolf' disappearing

- The wolf is supposed to hint towards Edward meeting Jacob and the pack, and a later issue, but for now it's just for Edward to suffer and question his sanity

- Edward almost passes out in front of Jasper and our angsty boi goes all big brother on our sad boi

- He literally carries Edward downstairs, catches him a rabbit, and gets him to take it

- Wholesome content = Jasper looking out for Edward and keeping him alive

- In the first chapter, Jasper convinces Edward to go with him when he goes to buy a new motorcycle, which was hand built by our wolf boi

- And in the second chapter, Jasper and Edward walk through the woods to the reservation

- Edward is still weak and as a result clumsy from not eating, so it's a lot of Jasper helping him over roots and stuff and so wholesome ✨

- Edward is cold, cause his vampire defenses are weak af rn, and idk just go with it. Jasper gives him his jacket and it's big on him cause Edward's a bottom in this story (you can NOT change my mind)

- Jasper is low-key pissed about what Edward is doing to himself and they talk about and Jasper kind of yells at our sad boi and Edward realizes he's starving himself because he knows it's slowly killing him

- Jasper and Edward forgive each other and they make it to the reservation

- They meet Jacob, who stares at Edward

- Edward thinks it's because he looks strange; skin hanging off bone and Jasper's jacket pulled around his pale af body

- Yeah, no, sweetie. It's because he thinks you're beautiful and all that poetic shit

- "Here's where (s)he meets prince charming. But (s)he won't discover that it's him till chapter 3." (Maybe)

- I low-key hint that Sam was the wolf in the woods, but I might plot twist that shit. Idk

- (Insert explanation about Edward's body rejecting the rabbit blood here)

- Jasper calls Carlisle, takes our sad boi home

- And I wrote this stupid scene where Carlisle is really cold towards Edward and asks Jasper instead of Edward if he ate that day. He then proceeds to give Edward an IV of nutrients mixed with venom, to start to get Edward healthy again, idk

- I just really wanted a scene where Carlisle goes all doctor on his son and they become his hospital, because so far, Edward has been sort of closed off and cold towards the Cullen family and I felt like I was making them too estranged

- Edward isn't magically not depressed or suicidal anymore, but he does start to try again and this time, he has his family to help him

- Jacob has already shifted in this. So have Leah and Seth

- This means he's all muscle and short hair, and also I have this scene I really like where Edward sees a photo of Jacob with his long hair and he calls him cute and Jacob gets flustered, I'm FINE

- Jacob is told to keep an eye on the Cullens, so he befriends Edward

- But he high key likes the "weird Cullen boy"

- It's cute, ok?

- Edward slowly lets Jacob in, not understanding why Carlisle keeps warning him to stay away from Black and that reservation

- The wolves get restless and dangers arise, Jacob trying to keep Edward away from the war that's been going on between their kinds for centuries

- Edward is kinda naive to that kind of thing, until Jacob transform in front of him and I can't decide if they fight about lies and stuff

1. obviously i have to mention the adaptation of a novel i was writing, sunless (as well as its prequel, technophobia), into an audio drama, which is????? frankly the biggest and most challenging thing i’ve ever written?? some things ended up not working and i still have to rewrite some stuff, but hopefully i’ll be able to start releasing content sometime in 2018

2. the inventor, which is a song i wrote earlyish this year i think (.....if i wrote it in 2016 it was like. late 2016 and tbh i feel like it’s almost a completely different song by now so it still counts, probably) and unfortunately cannot link to because im an idiot who didn’t save any of my demo recordings off of my old phone and the ones on my tumblr are like. bad

4. i started rewriting a different novel (untitled but usually referred to as “foi”, which at one point stood for “for our innocence” but that’s not. the title of the book anymore) earlier this year and forgot about it while i was adapting sunless, but i went back and read some of the chapters i was writing and they were Genuinely Pretty Well Written and i intend to return to foi in 2018 so ??? Yes (no links bc it’s super unfinished)

5. The 2017 Playlist, which i started compiling in i think june? it mightve been may, i dont remember, but it was supposed to be a fun playlist full of songs i liked that came out this year and then it ended up being like, an extremely emotional and personal playlist about the shitty state of the world and also, hope, full of songs i liked that came out this year lmao. i’m not gonna link to it because i’m literally posting it tomorrow but Yep,, i am not generally a sentimental person but i got in touch with that side of myself to make this hgkdsghlsd
