Little Nightmares III, huh???

I was trying to avoid being excited about it because no solid release date and 2024 could be a few months from now or a year from now and Idk how long I can handle being so fuckin hyped for this game YEEHAW

BUT I CAN'T, I KEEP THINKING ABT THE GAME AAHAHHGAGA

so here are my thoughts, if you wanted to know

FIRST OF ALL, i am so glad that after we saw LTNM II we thought it'd be co-op but it was just an AI, that we finally get co-op! AND ONLINE TOO, i spent the first day worried it'd be shared screen same room situation since i wasn't trying to get my hopes up but then I realised I can just.. google it.. AND IT IS!!! ONLINE!! IDK WHO I AM GONNA PLAY IT W FIRST AAAAAAAA

anyways, you can definitely tell it's a new studio working on this game, the world feels mostly the same but the character designs themselves are definitely stylistically similar, but not the same. With Six especially, the MC designs were very simplistic and realistic but used colour (or for Mono, a single design quirk being the bag) to stand out against their backgrounds and against the enemies which are largely neutral colours. But these new ones feel... "over designed"? On their own they definitely aren't, but in comparison to Mono, Six, Seven, and even NPCs like the flashlight girl, they have a lot more going on (especially the little wrench kid, Idk which one is Alone and which one is Low yet btw OOP)

Despite it being a new studio and you can tell, new puzzles and environments, they're still doing their best to have the OGs vibes and whatnot to feel familiar, namely in the trailer they bring back the fuses, and the additional gameplay video there's a short scene with an environment with all the shelves you can find in LTNM 1s gnome section (the one with the cart that is affected by the Maws swaying).

But regardless, it still feels different enough my brain is still nervous about it. I also feel In A Way about Tarsier having LTNM II explode and their franchise getting the attention it deserves, only to have it stuck with Bandai and now it's going to likely explode again and they aren't involved. Idk how anyone on that team feels about it, but if it were me omg.

Also the only boss we've seen so far (i hope they add more and i def want some to be a surprise so im not gonna assume this is the only one for now) feels... out of place? it has the design qualities of a LTNM boss, but the size of it makes it more of a spectacle than a warped/corruption of an adult. All the previous bosses fit in their environment, we are the small ones and they are scaled to the world around them. This is the first time, outside monster Six who imo is a bit of an outlier anyways due to her circumstances, we're getting a boss who is this huge and doesn't even fit their own environment. I hope we get a lore reason for this in some way, because currently the boss doesn't have the same vibe as the others and it's throwing me off a bit. Don't get me wrong, it'll be terrifying, but looking at the picture as a whole they are sort of out of place for me rn. I don't hate the bitch either, I'm not gonna be like omg get rid of it or change it, but it does strike me as odd seeing it for now.

And yes the tall man is too tall for a lot of things, but he's not THAT big. He's more like yer tall guy who hits his head off doorways, which happens irl anyways LMAO

Little Nightmares primarily tries to capture the feeling of being a small child and how everything is big and scary, but a doll that huge is out of the realm of reality set up for us already. It's gone from scary corrupted animal to godzilla, if that makes sense.

 a/n; so for this season I'm focusing more on Mamoru and Y/n's relationship so, i'll have a lot of og, scenes to do it.. and, as well have elements from the show... i'll use the manga fo chibi-usa introduction and, of course i'll have that dramatic break up scene that hurts me..... ] 

so this chapter maybe short i'm more focused on having interaction's between y/n and mamoru just to add more to their rekindling romance, even though they don't know that they know each-other. If it seems to be moving fast in them rebuilding their relationship they once had, I don't think it is im my opinoi. 

I know the moonlight knight is the embodiment of Mamoru's strong love for usagi.. in the story its y/n..but in this... some feelings are still there in Mamoru, but they are because he has a slight tiny tincy wincy little crush on y/n even though he doesn't know much about her.. the two have really cute interactions in which for them, feel strangely familiar....

i can't wait to do the babysitting chapter.. oh, goodness i'm gonna die at how cute its gonna be.. 

Also for the flashbacks,, I know its not explicitly mentioned in the manga, but for me I think the reincarnations of Mamoru and Usagi, Endymion and Serenity.. Were the same age so they were like possibly 16 or 17.. Maybe but for Serenity.. she would be 100 or something due to the silver crystal granting an 1000 live longevity. 

So Endymion and Y/n are 17.. don't judge me... 

[Y/n] sighed as she looked up, at the stars. A longing look on her face, every night she would do this. It always seemed to bring her comfort,  as she looked up at the sky. She noticed something, making its way down. She gasps, as it crashes into the ground. And, explodes. 

Her eyes widened, as she looks at it. And, runs out of her apartment complex to get a look at it. Everyone in the surrounding area, made their way to the crater that was left by the explosion. They all stood around the edge, 

"Musta been a meteor!" Rei's grandfather says, looking at it. 

[Y/n] looks curiously at the boulder, "No way!! All candy is 80% off?! Sounds like my kinda place!" Usagi shouts, looking at the flyer. 

"If all you ever eat are sweets, you'll turn your body into a giant bun, too." Mamoru says, looking at Usagi.

"Hey I know that obnoxious voice." She says, looking towards him. 

"Only you call me that!" She shouts at him, 

"The thought of a Bun-head turning into a bun-body is almost too much for me to take." He says, causing [Y/n] to snicker a bit, trying to hold back a laugh at this interaction. A familiar feeling washed over her, this felt so familiar.. 

Why was it?

[Time-Skip] 

[Y/n] was at the library, looking at books about the stars. Even though she already knew so much, it wouldn't hurt to know more. She got up from the chair and, checked out the books she was reading. She left the library and, made her way back to the apartment while reading her book, as she looked at the book. 

She didn't realize she bumped into someone, causing them to both drop their books. "I-I'm so sorry." She says, bending down, to help pick up their books. 

"It's okay, seems I'm being bumped into a lot lately." He says, to her and, she looks up at him. It was Mamoru, 

"O-Oh, hi Mamoru." She says, looking up at him. 

He looks up at her, "Hi, Y/n. Second time bumping into me today." He says to her and, chuckles nervously. Picking up his dropped books, 

"I-It seems so.." She says, smiling at him. The two then seem to reach out for the same book, their hands touching. A familiar warmth washing over them, the two look into each-other's eyes. The two quickly pull their hands away, from each-other a slight blush spread across their faces. 

[Y/n] turns back and, reaches for the book. Picking up the last one of Mamoru's books, she looks at him. "A-ah, sorry for bumping into you again." She says, to him nervously. 

"It's okay." He says, taking the books from her. And, handing her, her own books. She smiles at him, as he helps her off the ground. The two smile at each-other, the two look into each-other's eyes. 

"H-Have a nice day Mamoru." She says, bowing at him. Then walking away, a blush spread across his face... Her heart was racing and, she didn't know why. She barely knew Mamoru, but for some reason she felt she's known him for her entire life. 

This was so weird...

An saw this and, gasps. "Ugh! Who does she think she is?!" She says, as she was about to walk towards Mamoru, she fell to her knees. Clenching her chest, needing more energy. 

[Y/n] sat at her desk, taking notes on Stars. For her university, she sighed as she typed away. As she did, she couldn't stop thinking about Mamoru. And, again she didn't know why. She groaned and, fell onto the floor. She looked up at the ceiling, 

"Get your head outta the clouds, Y/n." She says, looking up at the ceiling. She sighs, she looks out the window once more. And, walks onto her balcony, she looks up at the stars. As she looks up at the stars, she sees Mamoru looking up at them, she looks over at him and, smiles. 

He sees her and, smiles back at her. "You must really like the stars." He says and, she giggles and, nods. 

"Yes, I love the stars. I absolutely adore them." She says, looking up at them. Her hands, clasps together. He looks at her, 

"It's the only thing, that makes me feel close to my mother." She says, to him a smile spread across her face. As she looks, at Mamoru. This moment between them, once again feeling so familiar. The two looking at each-other under the night sky. 

The two even though not knowing much about one another, would just have these interactions that seemed like they do know about each-other. Her eyes seemed to sparkle as she stood there underneath the stars, the two just stared at each-other. 

[Y/n] looked down, she began playing with her fingers. "I-I should probably get back to working on my paper." She says, blushing. She slowly backs away, a blush spread across her face. She turns back towards him and, jokingly says, 

"I-I guess I-I'll see you tomorrow when we bump into each-other." She says jokingly, causing Mamoru to chuckle a bit. Her heart skips a beat,

"I hope so.." He says and, her heart was racing. She felt like she was going to pass out, from embarrassment.She smiles, at this and, looks at Mamoru. 

"G-Goodnight Mamoru." She says, her hand over her heart. As she walks into her apartment, she plops onto her bed and, blushes. Her heart racing. She brought the blanket to her face and, squealed quietly to herself. As she lays in the bed, she couldn't stop thinking about him... 

All these interactions are so familiar, they feel so familiar. She snuggles her head, into her pillow and, smile. She slowly begins to close her eyes and, falls asleep. As she lays in bed, a monster breaks into her apartment. Causing her to be startled awake, hearing the shattering of glass. She gets out of bed and, grabs the broom that was in her room. 

She opened the door to her bedroom and, gasps seeing the monster in front of her. "What the f-.." She says, but was grabbed by the neck by the monster. 

"Vampir!" it shouted, as it began to drain her of her energy. She tried to hit the monster with her broom, but the monster snaps it in two. She groans as her energy begins to drain, from her body. 

"Y/n!" Atlas shouted, jumping at the monster attacking it. But it flings him away, causing him to hit the wall. The monster drops [Y/n] who falls to the ground in a daze, Usagi now as Sailor Moon runs into the room, 

"Y/n!" Sailor Moon shouts, shaking her but [Y/n] is unfazed. The monster attacks Sailor Moon and, begins to drain her energy. Atlas looks at this in shock, "No! Sailor Moon!" He shouts, seeing her struggling. He was conflicted, all they wanted was to have a normal life. 

And, [Y/n] and Mamoru, bit by bit were already rekindling their lost romance. She wanted a normal life with him, not having to worry about monsters, coming after them. Or having to save the world and, lose people she loves. Tears brim Atlas eyes, "I'm sorry Y/n! But Sailor Moon needs your help. Become Sailor Luna again!" he says, as a beam comes out of his crescent moon, and it hits [Y/n]'s forehead. 

Tears roll down her cheeks, as the memories are beginning to come back. The death of her friends, her dying in Mamoru's arms. And, him staying by her side till the very end. 

'No, please let me live a normal life!' 

'Please, that's all I want is that so hard to ask for!' 

'I don't want to remember! let me live a normal life!' 

'Nooo!' 

She gasps tears rolling down her cheeks, she smiles sadly at Atlas. "I'm so sorry Y/n.." He says and, she shakes her head. 

"There was no other choice." She says, wiping the tears from her eyes. She stands up, 

'Lunar Prism Power Make-Up!' 

[Y/n] looks at Vampir and, growls. Kicking, it in the face. Sending it flying out her window, "If it wasn't for you we'd be living a normal life, no thanks to you!" She shouts at it, it swings at her and, she dodges it. She jumps do

"Come on, Sailor Moon." She shouts, looking towards her, Who looks up at her and, nods. 

"Right." Sailor Moon says, as she touches her tiara. 

'Moon Tiara Action ' 

'Lunar Beam!''

They watch as the monster disappears and, a card appears before them. Falling onto the ground and, fading away... 

"Sailor Moon and Sailor Luna was it? I had no Idea someone like you was on this planet." Ail said, appearing as an apparition.

"Who are you people?!" [Y/n] shouts, at them. 

"Nomadic Nobles of the universes I'm Ail." He says, looking at them. 

"And I am An." An says, 

"You were the ones who sent that monster, weren't you" Sailor Moon shouted, at them. 

"Yeah but that was only a sneak peek at was what to come. " An says, laughing as they fade away. 

[Time-Skip] 

[Y/n] groaned, as the sound of glass crunches as she walks on the floor. "Man, this is gonna cost so much to get repaired." She says, looking down. She couldn't deal with it tonight it was going, to have to be tomorrow before she could do anything. Atlas was in her arms, she looked down at him and, said, 

"Looks like we're going to have to stay at a hotel for a bit." She says, to him. Looking down, as she left her apartment and, making her way to the nearest hotel. Once in the hotel [Y/n] plopped onto the bed and, laid her head down on the pillow. 

"Y/n?" Atlas says, jumping onto the bed walking towards her.  "Are you okay?" He asks and, she groans and, shakes her head. He notices tears in her eyes, 

"No, even though I have all my memories back, so does Usagi.. I know eventually the others will, but... I don't know why I have this feeling Mamoru will never remember me.." She cries into the pillow, 

"M-Maybe, I can try to help him remember; but... I have this feeling nothing I say or do will help him at all. I love him so much and, now I felt before I had my memories back, that we were slowly rekindling what we'd lost." She mumbles, tears streaming down her cheeks.

"I'm sure he'll remember you eventually, you're Princess Y/n and he's Prince Endymion. You two are star-crossed lovers, who always find a way back to each other." He says to her and, [Y/n] looks at him. A smile spreads, across her cheek. 

"Thanks Atlas." She says, petting him and, he purrs. She looks out the window, looking at the stars. As a picture of image of Mamoru's smile enters her head, tears stream down her cheeks. 

- [ Flashback ] - Silver Millennium 

[Y/n] was looking down at the ring, that Endymion gave her. She fiddles with it a smile, spread across her face. As she looks up at the moon, her hands clasp together. In prayer, hoping for the future for her and, Endymion to be allowed together. 

So they could start, a life together. And, as well have both the Earth and Moon kingdom together as one, where they could live together in peace. Where her and Endymion, could be happy and, as well either have a prince or princess of their own. 

She wanted to have a future with, him. That was her ultimate dream, for both kingdom's to be one. A life she wanted for both of them, to have a happy and, prosperous kingdom. She smiles as she looks up at the stars, as she looks down back at the ring. 

She was so lost in her own world, she didn't notice her sister coming up behind her. She tapped on her shoulder, causing [Y/n] to jump. 

"Ah, Serenity!" She shouts, turning back towards her sister. 

"Please you, must keep it a secret." She says, to her showing her the ring. 

"I love him so much, and I know it's forbidden." She says, fiddling with the ring a smile on her face. 

"What if he's using you?" Serenity asks, taking her sister's hand into her own, [Y/n] shakes her head, and looks at Serenity. 

"That's not like him, he'd never do anything like that. He loves me, I can see it in his eyes." [Y/n] says, to her a smile on her face. 

"But...I'm worried about you. I don't want to see you hurt." Serenity says to her and, she intertwines her fingers with her sisters. 

"You won't he promises to protect me." [Y/n] says, smiling at her looking back up at the stars. She smiles at her, Serenity looks at her sister. 

"Then.. I'm happy for you.."  Serenity says to her, [Y/n] wraps her arms around Serenity, she hugs her sister back. 

"For the both of you.." She says and, [Y/n] giggles at her. 

"And, the ring is beautiful." She says and, [Y/n] nods. 

"It is, I don't know if I can live in a world without him." [Y/n] says, looking at the Earth. 

"I want to be there with him, every second of everyday. In his arms, where I feel safe." She says, wrapping her arms around herself. 

"In his arms, is where I belong." She says, smiling looking up at the stars. 

"My Endymion, the love of my life.. My one true love.." She says, looking at the garden. 

[Time-Skip]

[Y/n] was on Earth dancing underneath the night sky with Endymion, a smile spread across both of their face. She giggled, as she looked into Endymion's eyes, his eyes that she'd always get lost in. Like he would for hers, her eyes that shined brighter than any other star in the sky he would say. 

Endymion placed his hand on her cheek and, she accepted it. Placing her hand over his, she leaned into his touch. She blushed at what she was thinking, "What is it, my star."  He asks and, she looks up at him a blush spread across her cheeks. 

"I-I was just thinking about, how it be life if we ever had a little prince or princess." She says, looking down embarrassed.. Endymion blushed at this, but he smiled. Placing his fingers underneath her chin, causing her to look up at him. 

"i'm sure, if we were to ever have a prince or princess. They'd have eyes that shine brighter than any other star and, your beauty. Kind, sweet, caring personality."  He says to her and, she smiles at him placing her hand on his cheeks. 

"And, I know that they have your, kind, caring, personality. And, will go to any lengths to protect the ones they love." She says, as the two intertwine their fingers and, share a kiss. Thinking about what it would be like, to have a prince and princess. 

"I can tell out future will be bright, full of love. Happiness." She says, snuggling her head into Endymion's chest. He places his head, on the top of her head. 

"Elara.." She says, smiling up at him.

"That's what I want to name our future princess, when we become one." She says, and Endymion smiles, placing his hand on her cheek. 

"Elara.." He says, nodding. And, she hugs him giggling. 

[ugh... i was gonna have the reader be secretly pregnant with his child.. but i decided not too...] .. 

SIKE! They are in love what do you expect.. but she's in the really early stages and, isn't getting any symptoms.. 

[Y/n] smiles as she looks up at the stars, her hand clasps together. Praying, 

'Please, let the Moon and Earth Kingdom be one kingdom, one day. Were Endymion and I, and possibly our future child can, live together happily. As a kingdom, that is peaceful. Where we aren't separated from the ones, we love.'' 

She says, looking up at the sky. Tears rolling down her cheeks, "My Endymion." She says, happily. Placing her hand, on her stomach, smiling softly. 

"My little Elara." She says, rubbing it gently. Feeling the tiny child in her stomach..She looks at the stars. But it was that same day, the Moon Kingdom fell. Where she lost Endymion, which in grief she took her own life. 

[Flash-back Ended] 

[Y/n] placed her hand on her stomach, tears brimming her eyes. She placed her hand over her mouth, 

"We were gonna have a princess." She says, choking back a sob. Closing her eyes, looking up at the ceiling. [Y/n], smiles looking down at the blanket.

She looks down at her stomach, even though she wasn't pregnant. It felt like she could feel the small child in her stomach, growing. A child they had created together through love in secret, she looked towards the window. And, up at the sky. 

Tears streaming down her cheeks, for a child she never had the chance of knowing. "Elara.." She says, softly looking up at stars. She closes her eyes and, smiles softly.

literally the only thing that stopped you was that Jake viewed the threat as a real threat and was about to do something stupendously Heroic to save Tavros and you decided you didn’t want Jake to die a heroic death

On the flipside, oh damn, Yeah Vriska’s going full throttle right on the nose ahead with the obvious audience expectation, that there gonna make another sburb session and get the obvious group of important 4 kids to god tier

that’s clearly the path vriska wants and expects, but hey, just imagine if what Vriska wanted to happen didn’t happen this time, imagine if the kids were just like “nah im good?” when it comes to a god tier

The narrative is making it super clear that at least 3 out 4 kids are kinda not feeling all the outdoorsy action and excitement of a game of life and death

Annie though I could hella see her down to play sburb and get a god tier, shes got that whole “isolated childhood trauma and parental issues pressure cooking her a strong will to take her life into her own hands” energy

Vriska, go see Annie, her strong willed butt is more of the action girl you’re looking for I think

At least if they do end up playing the game and getting the tiger, Annie feels like the first one to do it or the action catalyst of their session, like how Vriska was for hers, or Dirk for the alphas, or

hmm. who was is that kinda, moved things along for the Beta’s again? I think it was Rose, but Dave did a ton to move things along as well, but also their trolls like Terezi and them gave everything big nudges, I think Rose counts as the equivalent Beta in session mover and shaker though

Side note: the panels with vrissy and vriska here very feel cartoonish and light hearted, interesting choice

(I know his house came with him, giving the allusion all was well in the Medium, but a real meteor still struck the place that he stopped existing on OG Earth, to an outside observer, it would look like a meteor destroyed his home)

so i have a full bio written up for cooper , which you can find here — fair warning , it’s a novel because i tend to ramble and cooper has a fairly elaborate history . but below will be my attempt at the cliff notes of his story , though i can almost guarantee it may still get out of hand because i , like jenna marbles , have a too much gene and i can’t control it !!!

cooper was born in bel air , california , and i know you know what that means — the silver spoon was shoved right into his mouth from the get go . mr averton was a well - known and reputable lawyer , so money was far from an issue for the family . the only issue was upholding their reputation and the family legacy .

being the eldest child , cooper was immediately expected to be the one to follow in his father’s footsteps and take control of the firm . except young cooper turned out to be far from lawyer - material . he was sweet , outgoing , and a little weak - willed — and thus , the family disappointment .

long story short , coop was the black sheep of the averton family . he stretched to reach the high expectations of his family , particularly his demanding father — but always seemed to fall short . cue the daddy issues .

cooper’s peers took advantage of his kind , personable nature in order to rise to gain their own popularity . he eventually caught on to his fake friends when he caught his girlfriend cheating with his best friend , and he sorta spiralled . loneliness and rejection are his greatest fears and he couldn’t swallow losing everyone around him , so he swallowed his pride and just kept letting people take advantage of him — all while burying himself in bel air’s partying scene .

that is where his addiction started , the drugs numbing him in a way nothing else could — well , aside from music . his creative streak was just another thing that differed him from his family and cooper embraced it . he always loved the way music made him feel , strumming a guitar or humming a lyric . he had two loves in his life : drugs and music .

following high school graduation , cooper’s parents were pushing him towards college , crossing their fingers that their son would find his way back from his little detour in life . but cooper had a different route in mind for himself — he wanted to pursue his passion for music . this obviously did not sit well with his parents , who couldn’t fathom how their rockstar son would further tarnish their pristine reputation as bel air’s finest . tensions rose in the averton mansion until they finally exploded one night , leaving cooper to pack his bags and leave the place he had called home for eighteen years .

being eighteen , cooper had full access to his trust fund and he booked a one way ticket to new york city , eager to put as much distance as he could between himself and his family . he didn’t want to solely live off of his parents’ money though , so he began busking and bartending to pay for his little apartment .

cooper could have easily bought his way to the top , to the career he dreamt of , but he wanted to earn it , to know that his talent was what pushed him to success . so he played on the streets , in as many bars that would let him , and uploaded his music online until he finally caught the attention of a rising record label .

his career generally follows that of his claim , sir sly , except his first single was released in 2017 . i’ll be working on a general timeline for his career , but he’s been active since 2017 and just released his newest single “ all your love ” !

last year , cooper ended up in rehab after a near - fatal overdose while touring . he went off the grid for three months until returning in the fall a brighter version of himself . it seemed to have done him good , except he eventually fell off the wagon after a few too many nights back in his usual clubs . that’s all on the downlow though , not many know he’s back to using and he’s careful to only be caught with a drink in his hand .

he’s also slowly reconnected with his family since his teens . they still don’t love his lifestyle choices , but there’s still the random phone call every now and then .

Dissertation Outline

Look, man, I know I’m supposed to be meeting ur deadline and writing ur 50 million words on why I wanna fucking stay in this course, cause that’s what it is, isn’t it? I mean, in this day and age, what is the dissertation really for if not for hitting ur grade quota.??

 We all know u folk have a job to do and targets to meet, but I refuse to believe that means fucking us about and making us feel like the tiniest Lil bitches on the planet when, in reality, have u watched ur selves?? Eh, Jim? Have u watched the Lil video of ur ‘performance’ on Micheals y2k phone?? Nah, I bet u haven’t cause u just know for sure it was the best piece of work you’ve done and ur so proud u did that in front f ur students, the people ur supposed to be inspiring, well do u know what u inspired us to do??? Become stand up comedians bc honestly, there’s nothing else we can do with the amount of content u gave us.

 I cant find value in the dissertation. I cant find value in the course. And I can’t see value in yourselves.

I think most of u forget ur are teachers and not just full-time artist’s “living their lives” we are here for nothing other than learning, not becoming ur friends, or bitching with y’all while smoking. Now yes, I know that’s fun and might be the only bonus of being an artist, y’ know the community we all have, but that community has to be built on respect, and y’ ain’t gonna get it if u don’t listen to what we are laying down. It is not about u guys. It’s not about “who” taught us, it’s the fact we got educated.

 Its not happening tho.

 We’re becoming Glasgow School of Art, money, and grades over actual fucking humanity.

 This is art school mate, not everyone is here to get an A, some of us are here because we have something to say. And this is the only space we have. Do not make that space smaller for ur own benefit.

 Here’s the problem, I’ve presented my issues with both sides. With students and with lecturers. The students get it. They get the idea, they get the problem, they get several solutions, they are open-minded and supportive. The lecturers, shut u down, tell u that you’ll be eaten alive, say ur ideas aren’t realistic because people might not understand, make sure u don’t wanna have an original idea again, will never open a book and teach themselves something new. 

 Like are u afraid that if u learn something else that u might explode? Are u seriously worried that u might step out of ur fucking comfort zone and realise that the sky is more than just blue, it is not a colour it’s a scientific reaction that means more than any atom in ur body ever could. The grass is not just green, it is a life force determined to cover this earth with more knowledge than u could fathom. But no one is asking u to be einstien or hawking. They are asking u to be human. To care enough. To look at the planet that u live on and beg that there is more than u can see. Honestly, it’s not much. If u just spent one minute on wiki-fucking-pedia, u would understand that u are not some petulant teenager who knows everything. The world is spreadin around u faster than u can blink. So take a minute. It might change ur perspective.

 I know I probably come across like a teenager myself right now, and I have a few responses,

Ur right, I would love it; what I hate is someone literally shitting on OG ideas just because he can’t wrap his little baldy brain around it??? Like how does that seem fair?? I agree. I am so thankful for movies like this. While I don’t exactly relate to the stories of Encanto and Turning Red, I do suffer from generational trauma on both sides. These movies are so important because there is taboo surrounding talking bad about your elders when there shouldn’t be. Our elders are human too who are capable of mistakes.

Some of our elder family members’ mistakes have serious traumatic effects on the children of the family. I feel like it’s so important for everyone to watch these because I hope that it makes the elder family members aware of the cycles that they have continued and teaches the children to be aware of the situation that they are in and that they have the power to break the cycle.

I would like to address something about my og post. I did not make it clear that my grandmother is my father’s mother, not my mom’s. But she did come from a traumatic childhood where she felt like she had to marry young to escape her household with her verbally abusive alcoholic father and cold stepmother as her mother died when she was 15. So she never went to college which ended up backfiring on her since it is harder for her to get a well paying job, which she would have never expected in the 80s. My father comes from an Italian family who struggled financially until he was a teenager, most likely due to the oppression that Italian immigrants faced in the early 1900s.

So I feel like I can relate to Meilin because due to these circumstances, my parents wanted me to succeed and never struggle. I was taught to study rigorously in 5th grade. By 6th grade I studied all day several days a week to ace tests to keep straight As. I became the valedictorian of middle school. I want to be a writer. My parents told me that I should do that as a hobby and do something else. They told me I could be a lawyer. No, I could never. I’d have a breakdown. They signed me up for engineering classes in high school. No, I hated that. It wasn’t until I got hired by a local magazine that they stopped. I proved them wrong and showed them that you can make money as a writer. They were still a bit worried that it wouldn’t be enough and suggested I should minor or double major. Okay, mom, good idea. I’ll double major in film so I can become a screenwriter if I ever want to. They only completely stopped when I got myself a job at the writers house at my school and my mom listened to me teaching a workshop and she saw how amazing I was and how I was meant to do this. And now that I have an internship my summer with an online magazine, my whole family is excited and has hope for me.

Am I mad at them? No. I understand that they just want me to be happy. But I want them to know that I don’t wanna be rich. I just wanna do what makes me happy. Im very glad that they let me be now because at the beginning of my college career they’d hear about all my stem major friends and be like “oh you could do that.” Sucks that they didn’t get off my back until I proved there are more job opportunities for writers than they think, but I think seeing me happy in these jobs has made them self reflect and realize that they pushed me in wrong directions at times

My grandmothers trauma that has affected me is more like Encanto. She lost a child to SIDS and doesn’t wanna lose another and holds on too tight. She wants everyone to have a good relationship with one another so she tries to gaslight people out of being angry with her or one another. I relate so much to Luisa from encanto because I’m expected to be strong through all of the shit I have gone through or else I’ll just get gaslit and end up feeling worse. So I unconsciously taught myself to bottle my feelings up and when I do I kinda explode. The moment in which Luisa yelled at Mirabel and then quickly apologized resonated with me because I have done that with my family quite a few times. I wish my grandmother would have seen herself in Encanto like my mom saw herself in Turning Red because I am so sick of being my family’s literal Luisa.
