"I told you, I'm not kissing you goodnight," Donna maintained, her arms crossed.

Eric stuck out his lower lip in an exaggerated pout. "Come on, Donna. I know deep deep down you want to.”

She shook her head as she walked into the living room towards the stairs. He followed close behind. "I'll kiss you goodnight, but I'm not doing the other stuff. I'd never be able to respect myself again."

"Now you're just being dramatic. It's not like I'm asking you to do anything really weird."

She scoffed. "You might not realize it, but you are."

"You don't have to buy me anything for my birthday," he proposed.

"Fine." With a loud sigh, she sat behind the couch, facing it. "Let's get this over with."

"You can't even pretend to be a little excited?"

"That's asking a lot from someone who didn't want to do this in the first place."

"Ready?"

"As ready as I'll ever be."

She heard the couch creak slightly as Eric draped himself over the back of the couch. Soon, his head came into view. In her head, she reminded herself that she loved her nerdy husband. Besides, it was just them in the house; no one else would know it happened. He nodded for her to start.

"Do I get to say thank you this time?" she recited.

Per the script he’d handed her during dinner, he didn’t reply. She took that as a cue to carry on.

As her hands reached toward his face, Eric told her, "Wait."

She hesitated briefly before continuing what she’d started. When she pulled up the bottom of his Spiderman mask, Donna saw a huge grin stretched across his face. She rolled her eyes, but a smile played at the corners of her lips. Not wanting him to suffocate, she made sure his nose poked out of his mask.

After trying to think it through logistically, she decided there was no way this kiss would be comfortable. But she told him she’d do it, so she pressed her lips to his and hoped for the best.

As soon as they parted, he managed to pull himself upwards and out of sight. Donna stood up just in time to watch her husband struggle to right himself. "Best goodnight kiss ever," he told her.

A frustrating development with the growing lack of reading comprehension I've personally noticed is an emerging fervor of insisting things aren't canon unless they are explicitly stated beyond all reasonable doubt.

I can not emphasize enough how harmful a mindset this is to have. Yes, it's wonderful to have characters outright say "I'm trans," but to deny a character's identity for not saying that is dangerous.

Plenty of real people prefer not to use specific labels. Historically, people didn't have our modern terms or modes of expression. Many modern cultures don't use these terms, either, and plenty of people within those that do can't safely openly identify.

If the only representation you accept as canon is within modern (and let's be honest, wealthy white able-bodied American) standards, then you are denying yourself and others a huge amount of representation and seriously limiting the media around you.

thank you alex! i finally got the motivation to go back and finish this one up!

I'm cheating a little bit because I was fully in high school when this came out, but none of my other ideas were sparking joy so I went with it. Carmen Sandiego from the 2019 netflix reboot :) The palette ended up working great for her!

I really liked the show, my brother and I watched it together and we enjoyed how complex the story was (even though it was still going for the educational geography angle). And the style it's animated in was really pretty! I love the stylized way they always animate her coat blowing in the wind.

scoundrel?? what scoundrel???? the magnificent mr cards (who ironically has more of a flower aesthetic going on) is completely unrelated to any "bandaged scoundrels" running around the neath. in fact it's never heard of the word scoundrel ever in its entire definitely long definitely ancient life. but yknow, hypothetically, if it did know the scoundrel, it's confident that they're really really really handsome and cool and epic and they're almost just as amazing as it is and you should totally donate all your valuables to them and stuff

Interactive - Favorite Burp Scenario

I need something to take my mind off the fact that we are home to the dumbest, most bigoted fucking assholes on this planet, and I feel like a lot of you probably feel the same way right now. So, how about another interactive game? Send me character requests via my askbox here and I will respond with my favorite burp scenario to imagine for them. (Note, ideally, keep it to characters I know or that you think I may know)

DAV is a good action RPG, but a bad dragon age game. The gameplay is fun, but the marvel-esque writing makes me cringe every time it pops up.

Also I can't go 10 minutes playing without thinking 'I miss Cole' but thats bc he's my favorite DA blorbo.

Dodge rolling into stacks of crates + barrels is very enjoyable tho, highly recommend it to anyone playing the game.

Some of the writing is so.... Idk. It's okay to let serious moments be serious, and to let the weight of it set in. The game suffers, in my opinion, from lack of gravity. The set up is arguably more dire than any other game, yet I've literally never felt so unpressed for time at all.

There's just not really much feeling of agency or consequence, and part of it is because they were scared of any moral greyness or addressing any of the more controversial aspects of DA's worldbuilding.

Ehhh.

Fun game, absolutely beautiful tbh, and I do love the companions, but if you're a long term fan then yeah, it can be a bit of a bummer to see we waited 10 years for essentially a PG-13 Dragon Age

an IRL Lea (hornless beast) my buddy cikie (cikrovat on tumblr) gave me the idea for this and also talked about it with me and helped me develop ideas if you dont know them are you insane theyre cracked please stare at their art but yea fun irl au, idk all the details exactly yet (i keep automatically thinking of it as like current day au but idk if i want that or i want it in the same time period as the game is set). There's a couple more art ideas I have for it but idk if ill ever get around to making them. idk exactly what to do with her parents because i know she gains a lot LOT more freedom at some point which i really doubt they'd just allow with this image ive made of them, so they might be dead rip sorry lea

so there's this recurring joke with friends that yuusha is bad at driving (because of the Driving Incidents ™ i get myself into irl ever since i got my license)

now i'd like to think yuusha believes in her ability to drive well, and she says it with such confidence and nonchalance that you wouldn't even doubt her.

but once you're in the car with her you realize she's a whole different person (susceptible to road rage) and you'd be constantly fearing for your life 💥 (and by sheer luck and divine intervention, she's NEVER had an actual accident)

bonus hc is that one time when yuusha got near a vehicle, leona had the sixth sense that she should NOT be driving it even though he had never been in a car with her / had never heard of her terrible driving.

(anyways i'll share some of those irl Driving Incidents ™ below the cut LMAo)

first notable incident is when i overshot a turn and consequently lost my left side mirror on the freeway bc it hit a sign (then proceeded to drive the car for another 30 mins w/out the side mirror till i got home-)

then another incident a while ago it that one of my tires got punctured and didn’t realize it until it was pointed out to me

finally just recently on a road trip with friends i was basically fighting with the gps as i kept missing turns, thus delaying the driving time longer 🧍
