And he hates it. To be liked from you, he must be strong. He's sure you'd never like someone weak or emotional. He's sure... He's right...? While he thinks about it he falls asleep again.

The next morning, when he goes to work with Gin, he sees you at a cafe and instantly try to change direction. He doesn't know why, but even if he likes you, he somehow fears you. He suddenly stops walking when he sees you waving a hand at him, making him and his sister sign to sit with you. He stays still, then Gin drags him to youtable and he stares at you quietly, not knowing what to say. Thankfully, you're the one who starts a conversation. "Ryunosuke, I just couldn't help but notice you always try to avoid me. Why is it, am I so uncomfortable to be around with?" You ask with a soft, yet cold smile.

Ryunosuke. Other that Gin you are the only one who ever called him that.

He realizes he has to answer and clears his throat, trying to keep his voice neutral. "No, no, it's not that." It was true, indeed. He liked you, he just fears you a little bit. He fears that you make him weak.

"I see." He looses his gaze in your eyes when you let your smile softening slightly, an expression he never saw on your face. He loves it. He must keep a straight face, but, God, how hard it's getting to do so.

"sit here, please" you gesture to the chair in front of you with a hand, and Gin smiles a bit —she leaves you two alone since she knows about her brother's crush on you.

He turns around looking at her leaving, a baffled expression on his face, almost betrayed from his sister's absence in such an uncomfortable moment for him. He takes a sit in front of you, tapping his fingers on his thigh avoiding to look directly in your eyes, even if he still keeps a cold expression.

"I couldn't help but wonder how come you avoid me so much." You say smiling, even if the smile seeps to hide something, so subtly one could almost not notice. "It could make me sad, you know?"

His head snaps up and he suddenly looks at you with his gray eyes "could it?" He realizes just after that it sounded way too hopeful, and that it did not help to keep up his pokerface.

You chuckle amused, clearly knowing already that he has this thing about you. "Oh, it could. It did already" you say smirking slightly "but who knows, maybe you can help that"

He stares at you with almost wide eyes, shallowing "...what?"

"ah, did I confuse you? So sorry" you say, playful voice mixed to a sultry tone. you get up, take your bag and walk away.

He stays there, his eyes not leaving the spot you where just a few seconds ago. He is confused. Well, he knows what you were implying but... He still was confused.. did he just imagine that you wanted to say that? Is he being delusional?... He realizes a lot of time has passed only when Gin comes back and asks him what happened, question he can't answer. He just gets up and start walking with her again, trying to forget what happened. How could he, though? He just heard what he always wished to, even if it was just implied...

That night je could not sleep at all. All he heard was your voice telling him that "he could help that". It keeps repeating in his mind, and he could just not close his eyes. He grabs his coat (of course the coat 🙄) and leaves the apartment, making sure to not wake Gin up.

After almost half an hour he knocked at your door, hoping you would be awake even at this hour of the night. He's surprised to see you opening the door, and even more when you're just in a t-shirt an underwear. He can't help but stare at you while you let him step in the house and close the door behind you. "So? What's up?"

He look at your face for a while, then mutter "I was just thinking... about what you said... if I..."

You stop him tapping your foot on the floor "I meant that."

from a writing standpoint, it’s a lot harder to sympathize with Odysseus after he choose himself over his remaining crew, especially since that part was not in the original Odyssey (correct me if I’m wrong on that one). The Odysseus in Epic the Musical is supposed to be (?) less sympathetic than the original Odysseus but why????? What do we gain from finding it harder to feel bad for our lead character. I was SO mad/sad/secret-third-emotion after Odysseus made that decision. Almost made me stop rooting for him, because he is killing everyone he was spent the past 12ish years with for the chance of seeing his wife again. Does this make sense. Am I sentencing.
