ok guys wrmmmmmm what the flip ok so there’s this part I have to play at my upcoming band concert I have snare drum on it right ok so this new girl has snare drum on it to UGHHDHHHUHHHHH when I tell you she cannot play like half of the part GIRLLL like ok I get she’s new but 1 we’ve had this part since like the 3rd week of school 2 we’ve literally had a student teacher helping us on this part 3 not only did we get a student teacher we got a PROFESSIONAL PAID HELPER FOR THIS PART. And like she’s been playing for 2 years soooo!!! Like she can play like the first half of the part but bro the last half I SWEAR SHE MESSES UP ON SO BAD. Like im gonna tweak bro we have a concert in TWOOO WEEKKKSSS SHE NEEDS TO LOCK IN OMG. Anywyayysyyyssss I swear out of the 7 percussionists that we have me and like MAYBE 2 others are good. One didn’t even want to be in band, I’ll js call him Q for now BROOO if he gets a part he doesn’t like he just doesn’t play it at all like he is such a fuckingggg brattt and he’s a nasty greasy haired bitch like I hate that kid in general oh my goshhhhhh. then this kid who is supposed to be a saxophone player but I guess he switched to percussion is like, semi-good, like sometimes he can play his parts but like he doesn’t even hold the drum sticks righhttt oh my goshshhhh and he loves to correct someone like I was playing my part right and he goes “um…ur counting wrong.. 🤓☝️” OK WELL I COUNT A CERTAIN WAY SOMETIMES BECAUSE ITS EASIER FOR ME TO UNDERSTAND LEAVE ME ALONEEE AT LEAST IM PLAYING THE PART RIGHT OH MY GOSHHH…and thenn there’s this kid bro I swear she just doesn’t even try like she’s always on some filler part like she’s never been on snare, bass, or bells bc she cannot read notes or play for the life of her and she’s been playing for a while. Then there’s this one kid like he can play the rhythm of a part sometimes but he is neverrrr on tempo and he cannot read notes for the life of himmmn oh mygoahhhh. Then ohmygosh there is another girl and like sometimes she can play good but she’s always rushingggggg like she is NEVER on tempo ughhhhghghhh. I think the only two actual good percussionists are me and my friend, but she doesn’t even go to the same school as me anymore. Like I swear none of them try it’s so annoying like half of the percussionists are just kids who joined band bc their parents wanted them to so they don’t even try it’s sooo annoyinggg.

Ok then there’s this kid who is like a baritone I think ummm idgaf about what he plays so idk what he plays BUT brah I swear he always has something to say about someone’s playing like ok ho stfu u can’t even play the chromatic scale that good and we’ve being playing the chromatic scale since for like…,.,. Going on 4 or 5 years now..!! And he’s soooo nasty like he’s greasy he openly doesn’t wash his hands and he always is smelling like smth!! Brahhhh go clean urself istggggggg

Following suit, Eren sits across from Levi while Kenny stays standing, keeping to the perimeter of the room along the bookcases and observing the surroundings of Eren’s living room—either to keep watch or to pry, Eren’s unable to discern just yet—but Levi’s steely gaze leaves him unable to focus on Kenny either way. There’s a lump in his throat, the words he wants to say caught somewhere between his mouth and the smoothie he tried to drink earlier; the only thing he’s able to muster out are evidently nervous ramblings.

“So what is it that you wanted to discuss? I see you guys at the casino sometimes with the other Ackerman men—is this about Saturday? I already spoke to the police and gave them a statement,” he spits out; any confidence he thought he had is nowhere to be found.

The drumming of Levi’s fingertips against the leather of the couch cushions is the only thing that can be heard, an awkward silence settling over the room. A sigh passes his lips before he sits up, leaning forward, his elbows resting on his legs, his face going serious before he resumes talking. “Look, Eren, I won’t bore you with small talk—let’s just get to the point already.”

Panic begins to wash over Eren as he tries to recall the events of the last few days, pondering over whether he had potentially misstepped or done anything warranting a visit from one of his employer’s most notable clients—one of whom had almost been murdered just days prior. He did everything that was told by the police—stayed silent, didn’t alert anyone of the news, and acted as if nothing had happened—he couldn’t afford to lose his job again.

The tips of his fingers feel numb, and Eren’s sure all the color from his face has left. He doesn’t want to sound as nervous as he does, but it’s inevitable at this point. “If I did something wrong, it definitely wasn’t in my intention—”

Kenny, who toys at one of the frames atop the mantle, releases a chuckle, cutting Eren off, “Kid, you’re half the reason Leon is even still alive. Of course, you did nothing wrong. We’re not here to fire you if that’s what you’re thinking—I don’t even think that’s in our jurisdiction.”

Eren releases a breath he didn’t realize he was holding, finally feeling a sense of relief. “Oh, well, that’s good, I guess,” he stammers. He clears his throat, trying to regain his composure, knowing he’s probably made himself look like a bit of a fool over the last few minutes. “So if it’s not that, then… what are you here for?”

It’s obvious in the way Levi’s jaw tenses ever-so-slightly he’s resisting the urge not to roll his eyes or say something snarky, clearly having lost patience due to Eren’s fretfulness. “As I was trying to say,” he starts, “we’ve basically come here to proposition you.”

Eren raises a brow. “About?”

“It’s evident you’re… mostly competent, and you seem to be good at your job, which can be noted given everything that happened this weekend,” Levi notes, leaving Eren unsure of whether to take his word as a compliment or an insult. “And since Leon and his family are obviously concerned for their safety going forward, they’re going to need to ensure there’s someone watching over them 24/7.”

The words leaving Levi’s mouth begin to register within Eren’s mind, the deeper implication beginning to strike him. He’s known the Ackerman family and the people who work for their company for as long as he’s worked at the casino, especially if they specifically mean Leon Ackerman and his immediate family; there’s only one possible outcome of this “proposition” they’re offering him.

“So I’m gonna assume they’re requesting me as one of these people…” Eren starts trailing off, watching for Levi’s reaction. Levi only nods his head, which only confirms the rest of what Eren had assumed. “Ah… And since they don’t live in Jersey, that means I’d have to move?” He asks.

every time i go to print a new shirt theres a few feelings. the first feeling is annoyance and lots of fretting over the art part of it. im rly precious abt what a drawing for a shirt should look like most of the time so i will redraw the same idea like 40 times until it feels charming. then i gotta print transparencies which is always a pain in the ass especially since i do big ass shirts thats like such an annoying process gotta do math gotta split the art up into chunks gotta do color separations. then i get excited cause im like yes this is gonna be such a cool shirt. then i get annoyed again bc i have to reset like 4 to 20 screens for my dumb shirt. then i get rly worried im gonna print super badly and waste a bunch of expensive blanks cause like the shirts and hoodies i print on cost like at least 7 or 8 bucks some of the hoodies i have rn are like 30 bucks wholesale. they would cost u like 80 dollars to buy them Not wholesale. so like thats a decent amt of pressure. then i start printing and its like 4 hours of like doing a print then standing there while i wait for ink to cure under the heat. then printing. then waiting. its a lot of waiting. waiting for office stores to open so i can buy ink for my printer then waiting for my time in the studio then waiting for screens to dry then coating them then waiting for them to dry then washing them out then waiting for them to dry then printing then waiting for the ink to dry. but after like a week i have a bunch of shirts, most of which i will never see again after i mail them out. so the final stage is sort of waiting indefinitely for somebody who has one of the shirts i made to @ me on somewhere and be like shirt by bloodsad and then im like Yes. anyway im just sitting in the studio rn bc my legs hurt and ive been here for like 9 hours and i was here like 9 hours 2 days ago and then yesterday i was also here cleaning stuff and 3 days ago i was here for about 9 hours and the day before that too and it all sort of blends together and a lot of it is me sitting in a chair at 3 am when my legs hurt. this is what a job is but i guess because most of it is spent like alone it doesnt feel like real. i often feel like its going to go away soon or like im doing something illegal even though it wont and im not. a lot of last year i kept standing on the street corner at like 4 am by myself smoking looking at the asphalt and thinking “how much of my time in portland will i remember as just times when i was not at the studio, preparing to go to the studio, and then how much of the time will i remember as me being at the studio, thinking about how soon i will no longer be at the studio, i will be somewhere else, somewhere not in portland?” its weird when u think that u will not be in the place youve been in a year repeatedly for a year soon and then that turns into two years and then you realize that probably u will continue to be in that place indefinitely. i see older people who are in portland and i think about how many of them live here intentionally or just forgot they were supposed to move somewhere else. i think about if thats just the state of living for everybody or if its a factor of my age or being a zoomer or whatever. but idk i guess im printing shirts. no joke or point to this post

what's a wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

i'm really starting to doubt my ability to finish seven miles out of freedom town. im gonna try my best but the hyperfixation has moved on and it feels more like a chore than something im enjoying rn. im really sorry to anyone that disappoints, it disappoints me too, cos wild things was genuinely some of the most fun i've ever had writing fic and interacting with a community. i'll try and get it finished, it might just take me a while.

what are your writing strengths?

i think im pretty good at dialogue, making it sound like something a real person would say.

i think im fairly decent at dramatic writing, at making things sound flowery and poetic and theatric. thats my favourite way to write.

dont think im too bad at characterisation most of the time.

i suck at worldbuilding. i think its boring and i dont care for it, i just want to write about the characters. planning bores me. i just write things and go back and fix inconsistencies later.

wild things is the most effort i've ever put into a world. i was googling locations like a mofo to make things accurate.

thoughts on dialogue in another language?

i think its great! one of my favourite fics has a character that speaks french and he uses it to tease other characters who don't know what he's saying. its done so beautifully.

i dont think i can pick a favourite, i have like three. hitchhikers and the axeman of new orleans were my starting points and really showed me the joy of writing fic that other people were going to read. i had a lot of fun writing those and i love me some dark themes.

2. biggest weakness

my biggest weaknesa is definitely how hard i care about everything like i care so fucking much its absurd. @puppyboypatrick can attest i found an egg and lost significant sleep over trying to keep it alive and i also named her. literally 2 hrs barely into being given said egg and he was very (fondly) frustrated abt this (womp womp) (i am not sorry!!!) its very bad it will kill me some day i swear.

um i dont know what my biggest strength is? i guess the same thing really. i care so much about everyone and everything even and especially the guys in my brain and i always always always have to have a tomorrow for them. for the people i love for the people who need me for the people who give a shit about me actually. having people who care about me so distinctly has done something really good for me even if i am still a mess LMAO.

my hair is TWO colors rn but its suuper faded. normally i have brown hair that like sunbleaches to red and gold its sooo pretty in the summer if i leave it undyed/unbleached (which is never im queer i have to dye my hair like legally /j) but rn im on like my third bleach and dye and its green and pink. supposed to be blue and pink but sadly it greend... like i said super faded but im gonna rebleach and dye soon! my hairs. really nice and for some reason its impossible to destroy. im not kidding this is the 3rd bleach. its still like absurdly soft. i dont even wash more than once a week half the time and i dont usually wash my hair 😭 i NEVER use conditioner i dont get it HELP
