team rocket gets fucking thrown into hisui au

uhh i don’t use tumblr nor do i know how to use it so i am sorry if this is messy but here are headcanons and whatnot

(put under the “keep reading” thing in case some people don’t like. care about it idk)

• i think they’d get put into hisui inbetween series so the only members that got thrown are jessie, james, meowth, and wobbuffet

• they only remember themselves and each other. they have vague memories that they were on the same team or something and there was this really important boss guy that they feel like they should probably get back to. also yknow how there’s like those ingo things with remembering emmet? i think team rocket would be like that with ash+pikachu but less angsty (or still just as, depends)

• pokemon wise, i like the idea of jessie getting a shinx because she likes it’s personality or something. for james, i think he’d get an eevee, but hey who knows not me

• maybe meowth would convince a random pikachu to join them. because it feels important that they should get a pikachu

• everyone is super freaked out about this talking pokemon that looks like it should be on 2 legs so they don’t really like him at first but then he helps translate and then people start using him to translate and like him and stuff

• they sometimes hum their parts in the motto. like they don’t know the words but they can get the tune

• it’s not a song but i don’t know how else to phrase it

• they hate being part of the survey corps but they do it for the money. gotta get rich somehow and pay for food to eat

• sometimes they’ll discuss memories. they’ll try to figure out and put pieces together (not that it ever works. everytime they think theyre close, there’s one thing that makes it fall apart everytime)

• they hang out with ingo sometimes because they feel like they’ve seen him before, somewhere (whichever series’ this takes place between, it’s up to interpretation but they’ve either fought him like that one time in B/W or on TV or something)

• at some point they get shocked by lord electrode and blast off and while they go james is like “… shouldn’t we be saying something here” and jessie says swears. then wobbuffet does the wobbuffet thing.

• they show up again like 2 minutes later looking fine and everyone is like “wtf.” because that isn’t normal

• why are these random ass people completely fine after getting shocked by LORD ELECTRODE

• melli goes absolutely wild and is torn between being like “DAMN😍” and “DAMN🤬”

• i think it’s funny to think about some child wanting to dress up meowth or something and give him bows and crap. so he looks in a mirror after and gets hit with a horrible wave of deja vu that does not feel good

• yes it’s about meowzie. after a minute it’s back to normal but he is freaked out for a while so ehh

• the horrible deja vu continues when jessie shows this hairstyle that she got and doesn’t think it’s her look but james is bluescreening because that hairstyle reminds him of someone who is really not cool at all (jessebelle)

• jessie never wears it like that again

• now for jessie to experience, there’s that one island in the coastlands where there’s a chansey and while everyone else is like. scared because it’s an alpha pokemon, jessie is like “omg?????? wtf????” and she approaches it. then it attacks her and bam bad deja vu

• i don’t really know how wobbuffet would experience it so have fun imagining that

• i have two thoughts for the ash and pikachu situation- either A. they are in the present or B. they are in the past and i have thoughts about both

• A. the present. i think that ash would go to the next region (or stay in kanto idk whatever you want to imagine) and everything is normal at first

• but then after a bit of time passes it feels like somethings missing but he isn’t sure what

• at some point he randomly mentions team rocket and jessie and james and whatever. but then his companion(s) go “huh??? who are they???”

• it clicks. team rocket has not been around where did they go what

• so ash begins to search because he sure as hell isn’t going to the police about it, because 1, he is a hero, and 2, they would arrest them immediately

• basically he searches for team rocket while no one else does and it’s just shgshs yeah

• and B, where he turns up in hisui too with pikachu

• i would think he remembers everything. so when he sees team rocket he flips out and is like “wtf what are you doing here how did you follow me to the past!!!”

• jessie starts to be like “to protect the w-“ and then stops because. what????

• they don’t remember the motto but it feels like they should be saying it but they don’t know what it is

• they all stand there in silence until ash is like “aren’t you… gonna continue the motto??” and they’re like “what?”

• after a bit of debate ash and pikachu realize they don’t remember and are actually kind of sad now

• hey at least they don’t want pikachu now!!!…. hey what do you mean you have the urge to take pikachu please don’t steal him

• i don’t know it’s an interesting concept that i may expand on later

the main thing that bugs me about ao3 discourse is i just. i never see anyone lay out what they actually Want from ao3 besides 'delete everything i think is bad' like theres no. sense of practicality? what exactly do you want added to the tos. what is the exact expected process for reporting fics and evaluating those reports. disclaimer before anyones like 'Oh so youre unilaterally defending them' i do extremely think they should at the least not allow rpf of irl minors. but when it comes to enforcing policies that aren't related to like, laws, i just wonder how you expect it to work... should they just delete anything/anyone who gets reported a lot, like plenty of sites do? then people are gonna exploit that system and get people mass reported over petty shit, just like on twitter. should there be a moderation team instead? who picks that team? who's on that team? what if the team makes decisions you don't like?

especially when you're talking about creating some kind of policy for 'eliminating racist content,' like-- what counts? i'm guessing that like, troll works that are just a wall of slurs already get deleted (if they don't then they should be because that's pretty simple) but like. who decides what's 'bad enough' to merit outright deletion? if it's done by volume of reports, wouldn't that essentially be arbitrary moderation because it depends on a random group of people who potentially all have different problems with a fic and those problems can vary wildly in severity? like, what about when it comes down to nuances of how a character is treated? dramas like we had with finnpoe discourse, where either character topping might invoke different racist tropes, so how does one walk the line and how do you cope with how not everyone who attempts to walk it will be successful?

i saw one post giving the example of a fic that just like, rewrote the events of last year's protests to be set in the transformers universe, and yeah that's tasteless, there's been offensive 'current events' fic happening for a long time and it sucks. but should there be an explicit ban on that genre? how would that clause be worded? does Everyone agree that it's something that's impossible to do tastefully? if a black person does want to work through their feelings on current events through fanfiction, is that still banned because it's presumably impossible to do well, or should it be allowed because they have the right perspective? do they have to meet a certain standard of 'doing it right', and who evaluates that? and how are ao3 moderators supposed to know or believe they have that perspective? (we've already seen people racefaking to get 'permission' to write tacky racist fic just due to social pressures. imagine the lengths people will go to if their work or account is on the line.)

like-- sorry if this is a gauche comparison but since it's something i'm familiar with and able to speak on. what if the next wave of criticism is 'ao3 needs to crack down on transphobic content'? how will you define that, beyond 'delete fake fics that are just slurs'? would entire tags like omegaverse, or 'boypussy' and 'girl!penis', or even 'genderbend' get deleted? what about trans authors using those tags? do we become the only ones allowed because we can do it 'correctly'? how do we deal with the fact that not all trans people agree on what's 'correct'. like i don't think genderbending is inherently transphobic, it's down to individual choices and portrayals. same with omegaverse, same even with 'boypussy/girl!penis', since like. people might take issue with the entire premise of 'characters have this type of body and it just doesn't like, mean anything' as being fetishizing of trans bodies/erasure of trans experience and i sympathize with that. i'm not certain where i fall on the matter either, it's very much a case by case thing.

so then, how do you moderate that? do we get rid of those tags because someone decided nobody can use them responsibly or should like the premise at all? again, do we appoint moderators to decide when an idea is handled 'correctly' and again, who are the moderators? what happens when they make a decision you don't like? how do you distinguish between fic with a 'wrong' premise and fic with an 'okay' premise that is executed imperfectly and leads to interpretations or implications that upset people, especially when many fic writers are young and amateurs? should someone who made mistakes be punished with deletion just as much as someone who, like, intentionally wrote character-bashing/abuse fic for racist/transphobic/etc reasons?

like, none of what i'm asking here is supposed to be applied to general discussion of these subjects, it's not like i think offensive content should never be taken down, i'm not pulling some kind of 'everything Could be offensive so actually nothing is' or 'if they didn't mean to then it doesn't count' or anything like that. but we aren't talking about interpersonal discussions, or the handling of mass media, or anything like that. we're specifically talking about the concept of 'just delete everything that's offensive and exploitative' and how that would potentially be implemented. because ao3 is not a person who said something tasteless on twitch and can be reasoned with and led to make an apology. ao3 is a website hosting all sorts of ideas from millions of users, specifically in the form of fiction, and the way fiction conveys biases and shapes people's thinking is itself a really fucking complicated subject, and people are trying to demand that they try to tame that massive volume of content from different people in very specific ways, with no suggestion of how to actually go about doing that.

i know you think 'delete the stuff thats obviously bad' is a simple principle but it's literally not because no two people will ever 100% agree on what's 'obviously bad', particularly in this case because people don't consistently agree on whether depiction always equals endorsement AND it's so difficult to reliably tell whether depiction that seems to be endorsed was intended to be endorsed. so again, the primary, most practical options for 'delete things that are bad' are to either delete everything that anyone reports for any reason or to have moderators that make flawed human choices. i just want to feel like any of the people making 'ao3 bad' posts have actually like, considered that, and have some sort of opinion on which one it should be, if theyre gonna fight about this.

and, yknow, if they did have to hire a massive team of additional moderators to actually read every fic and take the time to make subjective decisions about whether it's offensive... they would need to pay those people... and they would still need donations. so lmao.

im not saying like 'youre not allowed to want things to change' like there's definitely room for improvement but. please god. start explaining what you want those changes to be because 'delete everything i personally think is bad' is not a moral imperative or a coherent category or a helpful suggestion in the least, if you think with your brain and not your gut instinct of disgust.

lol you thought there would just be 21 ANYWAY EXTRA 1: how do they spend breaks/vacation?    they'd travel a lot when they're older!! kazunari loves to travel and misumi would follow kazunari anywhere (also, new triangles!!) so they go somewhere new whenever they have the time. however i think eventually one or both of their future careers will take them anywhere and everywhere anyway, so their "ideal vacation" might turn into an evening in, cuddling and catching up (as if they didn't already send play-by-play updates over the phone of whatever they did during the day)

EXTRA 2: first date?     i don't they ever have an explicit first date, but if asked they'll cite the time they had a picnic in the park turned triangle hunt turned accidental dip in the duck pond. at least, kazunari will. misumi just tilts his head and wonders what you mean.

EXTRA 3: gifts?     IM FEELING REALLY CHEESY SO I'M MAKING THIS ABOUT ANNIVERSARY GIFTS they both end up getting each other jewelry (although kazu was really really nervous bc he wasn't sure if misumi would wear it). kazu gets misumi a bracelet (with triangles, of course although misumi only wears it sometimes because he doesn't want to lose it) and misumi gets kazu a pair of triangle earrings "so we can match!" and kazunari combusts at the implications

EXTRA 4: sharing clothes     THEY'RE ACTUALLY AROUND THE SAME SIZE (and tend to wear baggier stuff barring kazu's skinny jeans)... but they have completely different Styles so it's still really obvious when steal each other's stuff ahdjajdkaf. as cute as kazu would look in sumi's sweatshirt i think the much more likely scenario is kazu wrapping misumi in his jackets because this boy nEVER BRINGS HIS ANYWHERE anyway just. accidental shared wardrobe misukazu.

The Dragon Riders are a close, tight-knit team of six humans and five dragons with a human and Night Fury as their leading duo. They are a bunch of misfits who can be powerful when they work together.

They are a family unit they founded together, but that doesn't mean that they aren't immune to internal troubles and divides. There is a particular relationship that is cause for much friction and that is usually to be found with Astrid and the twins.

As someone who is more on the serious side, Astrid's warrior personality often clashes with Ruff and Tuff's more chaotic one. She wants to get things done, they want to see how much they can get undone. She takes their leader's orders seriously, they would like to know what's in it for them first before they consider listening.

They are polar opposites, on two different ends of a spectrum, with differing work ethics.

They've had their problems and they will continue to have them, but that doesn't mean they won't be there for each other when the need arises.

During a battle with the Dragon Hunters, Ruffnut is thrown from her head of the dragon, a Zippleback, when a sudden ballista sends him rearing to avoid it.

"Ruffnut!" Tuffnut can be heard shouting, watching his sister fall while Barf and belch struggle to recover, their balance thrown off by having only one Rider. Astrid and Stormfly is the Dragon Rider duo closest to them and they see Ruffnut fall, too.

"Come on, girl." Astrid directs her dragon towards Ruffnut, sends her speeding to her, but the ground is quicker to arrive this time.

Luckily enough, they aren't too high up and Ruffnut survives her fall, landing with a crunch and a cry and rolling for a good while.

"Ruffnut!" Astrid shouts and Stormfly quickly touches down near her just seconds after she stills.

The others can be heard in the distance, having noticed Ruff's tumble. Hiccup is ordering the remaining Riders, and Heather and Windshear, to finish the fight so they can get their wounded teammate home.

As soon as Stormfly lands, Astrid dismounts and hurries to her side.

Ruffnut is lying motionless as she lies on the ground, but by the pained groaning, Astrid can tell that she's awake. A good thing as passing out might indicate a possible head injury.

She sinks down next to her and places a hand on her shoulder. Ruffnut looks up to her with a pained expression on her face.

"Ruffnut, I'm here. I'm going to turn you on your back, okay?" Astrid tells her and as soon as she nods, she moves her on her back.

There is a grimace on her face and a pained groan that she cannot suppress leaves her, her left hand settles on her ribs and her right remains motionless.

"I think my shoulder popped out. And a few of my ribs broke. Not as much fun as I would imagine it to be." Ruffnut winces to Astrid, who gives her a sympathetic smile and a nod.

On any other day, a comment like that would've annoyed her, but not this time.

"Where's Tuff?"

"He's okay, he's trying to land Barf and Belch."

Landing a Zippleback with only one Rider isn't the easiest of things.

With two heads, the dragon can function just fine. Three is a little bit of a crowd, and four evens it out again. That is why a Zippleback needs two riders instead of one and why Tuff isn't here yet.

"Dragon Riders!" Hiccup can be heard in the far distance. The battle must've been dealt with and he's gathering them to join Astrid and Ruffnut on the ground. Snotlout takes Ruff's head of the dragon, having stepped over from Hookfang, to steer them towards land.

"Ruffnut! Ruffnut, are you okay?" Hiccup asks as he and Toothless land nearby and he gets out of the saddle to come running. All the Dragon Riders manage to join them.

"Im-I'm okay, I'm okay," Ruffnut tells him, though the look in her eyes says something different.

"Are you good to fly home?" He asks then, rather wanting to treat her on the Edge than out here, where there don't have as many supplies.

Putting on a brave face, she nods.

"Then we're heading straight for the Edge." He decides and it doesn't take long before they're ready to take off again. They want to hurry. The faster they get home, the better it'll be for Ruff.

"Does your back hurt?" But Astrid has to ask. Before she attempts to move her, she wants to make sure she can be moved in the first place.

"No? No, I don't think so." Ruffnut tells her uncertainly, her back doesn't hurt.

"Than we're getting up." Astrid tells her and helps Ruffnut to her feet. She's careful as she lifts her, of course, minding her ribs and her dislocated arm. It doesn't stop Ruff from hurting, tiny whines and groans of pain leave with every little move, but she appreciates the care Astrid puts into helping her. And here she thought all of that care was only reserved for one man and one man only. It feels good knowing that Astrid can muster up that kind of care for her, too.

"Don't worry, I've got you." Astrid tells her and holds her close and secure. With her injured ribs, she can't just take an arm and swing it over her shoulder, but she manages to support Ruffnut all the way to Stormfly. She won't be able to fly by herself in the condition she's in. It is a slow and careful walk, but they make it together.

Stormfly lowers herself to the ground, Astrid helps her up, and off they go, back towards Dragon's Edge.

Awwww don’t be sad anon, reccing me bakushima stuff is seriously hard because I might or might not go daily in the ao3 tag to read anything complete that’s been updated and I might or might not be following all fics regularly updating unless they have a character death/angst with no happy ending warning oops - thank you for thinking about me tho!!! Either way it’s gonna be fun if and when she’ll learn how to make herself visible!

Nah, there’s lotsa people who don’t expect anything from him, Deku’s friends love him a lot~ but yeah his interactions with Kiri are fun, most times it’s just Kiri getting excited and being overly energetic as usual and Deku going “ye-yeah!” with his uncertain face, it’s??? fun??? Seeing the members of the bakusquad interact on friendly terms with the dekusquad is always fun for me exactly for that, Deku’s friends are all so mild compared to Baku’s, you notice the squad’s energy even more like this haha

They’ve decided to start producing Bucky Bears again, now that he’s all shiny and redeemed and fighting for good on this big Avengers misfits team. “He has a little shiny gray arm,” Bucky says, wiggling the stuffed arm in question, one of the tweaks made in the new model. It takes Steve a second to realize that Bucky’s got a small smile on his face, actually looks a little bit proud around the eyes.

Or, Bucky relearns himself and how to be on a team, the rest of the Avengers try to get answers, and everyone watches too much Criminal Minds.
