sometimes i wonder if kotokos anger at the end of deep cover reached such a boiling point not just because she ran out of planned criminals to hunt but because of multiple factors.
because of the police's incompetency at catching her. she wouldve known how easy it would be for all the evidence of her hunts to link back to her. she never changed outfits. and yet it never did. sometimes i wonder if she hunted not only to lose herself in the thrill of it but if it at some point became a desperation to be caught. to be stopped. if the anger just grew the more the police failed because it was a reminder of how much the justice system sucks. fuel to the fire.
because of the ceo's corruption. because the article talks so much of her unnecessary violence but barely anything of the son's crimes. because lucky retracted her statement. rather that be because the ceo got involved with it, because kotoko advised her to, or just luckys own decision- i think any option would be a tipping point for her, added to everything else.
no wonder she snapped like a twig man. she went off completely on her own in an attempt to "fix" the injustice and only got reminded of it every step she took. of how inescapable the justice system's failures were. she hunted and yet was never caught herself. she killed a child murderer and yet it wasnt his crimes on blast, but her own. and yet never for any of the other ones. only when a person in power is involved is she exposed, only when that person is trying to bury a far worse crime does her own misgivings ever come to light. and isnt that just so funny? you murder a man and it is not the child that is cared about, or the man's crimes that got him killed- but instead it is the fact you killed a ceo's son with excessive violence. that's it! that's all the article cared about. anyone who encourages your actions should be strongly criticised, isnt that right?
net zero change in injustice, gain nonexistent.
she has destroyed herself for nothing.

ALSO I have been tagged... last week (I'm so sorry) by @kazamajun for wip wednesday and I finally have smth I'm comfortable sharing so. there we go.
Also I would like to tag... idk who currently has wips. @eldragon-x I think you do. @kazooyah you too (if you want to ofc). Anyone else tell me so I can tag you and also you are tagged anyway.
OK LET'S GO
---
The fight was as fast as it was intense.
The King of Hell made the first move, absolute in might as ever, doubtless eager to finish it quickly, but his powerful strike never came into contact with the goddess' body: her palm met his fist halfway and she used his momentum against him, redirecting the blow and gracefully dodging out of the way, before grabbing his arm, dealing him a swift chop to his neck, bringing him to his knee with a well-placed kick, and slamming her elbow to the back of his head. Unrelenting, she then concluded the throw by tossing him overhead.
But as expected, it did nothing to keep Kazuya down for more than a second. A kick to get her away, and he got back up with a dangerous red gleam in his eyes.
She mainly focused on evasion and redirection, turning his strength back on him all while doing her best to avoid his attacks, as it was evident that he had immense destructive power on his side, and knew how to utilize it at his very core.
She could not espace every of his moves however, and the punch that followed an axe-kick of his hurt her more than from anything she ever faced before. It unfortunately wouldn't be the last blow that would breach her defenses.
The first electrically charged attack that hit her thorax had her stopped breathing momentarily, and at one point he got back at her by grabbing her leg and slamming the goddess to the ground.
She did not spend the whole fight evading or trying to, however, her fighting techniques were as refined as his were perfected. To hit her, he would need to reach her first, but she would hit her mark almost everytime, forcing him to block her blows.
He found no luck falling back on his other abilities either: pure white bird-shaped energy crashed into and nullified flying purple laser-shooting crystals more than once. Her light was on par with his demonic electricity, and she had him panting as much as he did her.
It was clear still that neither of them has ever faced such an fierce opponent before.
She knocked him out of his devil form eventually. A single contact of her light was usually all it took to purge all demonic energy of those from below; he, on the other hand, endured the full force of it fifteen times before a light-infused fist send him flying and purple scales dissipated from the King of Hell to reveal a humanoid form much more similar to her own.
That did not made him any weaker, or any less determined.
Eventually, they each dealt each other a killing blow.
True purifying light from her hand obliterated his demonic insides from behind his chest, while highly concentrated infernal electricity fired at point blank from his remaining third eye tore right through her stomach. Neither knew who delivered which first.
Both fell to the ground the same, in opposite directions, across of each other.
Both also knew that they would be dead soon. Well, as temporary as being dead was to a god.
The physical part of the fight ended, but the battle still wasn't over: the winner of this encounter would be decided by which of the two would see the other die first.
Everything was silent in the clearing save for the two gods' ragged breathing.
Already the woods were giving back to She who made them: small orbs of light emerging out of the spring, the trees, the plants and the grass, were making their way over to her, envelopping Jun's wounds in a warm embrace.
She forced her eyes to stay open to see the god on the other side, being reclaimed by the depths of the earth, tendrils of blood creeping up and dragging him down. With his last bout of strength he was clawing at the ground toward her, still glaring at her.
But was he? Jun looked deeper at the red eyes fixated on her before realizing they were in fact looking past her, pleading past her.
Not yet, not yet, not yet. Not again.
She was no longer the enemy he was fighting.
Without knowing why, on pure instinct perhaps, her hand extanded with the intent to reach him: in her exausted state, maybe her eyes no longer saw an adversary to defeat, but someone in need of help.
Her eyes closed on their own before they could meet his lifeless ones.

Hika/Tobi Marriage Hunt + Blessed Eyes AU...Thing
Hikaku waits in perfect stillness, aside from the slow spin of his sharingan.
There is little chance of securing himself a spouse this hunt, he knows. Not when the prey is Senju Tobirama.
Madara is out there, stronger than him, and Izuna, faster and more familiar with the prey. There are clan members who are better at tracking and sensing who all stand a better chance than him, but if he had not even tried, then Hikaku would have had no chance at all.
In truth, he thinks the most likely outcome is Tobirama remaining unbound and unwed by the time the sun rises. The treaty had only called for a hunt, not a marriage, and the blessed one is clever and wily. They had known that, when they'd asked for this, but the Uchiha had wanted a chance, however slim, to bring those blessed eyes into their clan.
Hikaku had wanted a chance, too -- it felt blasphemous to not at least try. And so, he waits. Unmoving, chakra crushed down to blend in with the trees, as his clansmen scatter and search in the forest around him.
He has no chance of chasing down Tobirama, he's known that from the start, so instead of trying he's found a spot, set up traps, and sits, waiting. Tobirama probably wont fall for them, either, but he might, and that's at least worth waiting in the forest until sunrise.
One of the wires he's attached to a distant branch vibrates, then another, and another. One might have been an animal, but so many so fast means a person. Person doesn't mean Tobirama, but Hikaku tenses in preparation, regardless. Whoever they are, they're moving towards him at breakneck speed. Fleeing, Hikaku hopes, as he curls one hand around the wire in the clearing, and another in a sign, ready to spring one of the traps at his feet.
A figure springs into view, a streak of ghostly white, and Hikaku does not hesitate, pulling the wires tight around a figure that, even though he is clearly surprised, is able to dodge the attack. But not perfectly; when he hits the ground, its with a stumble, and its pure instinct that has Hikaku forming the hand signs to pull the pre-loosened dirt under him down and in.
Before Hikaku can even blink, he has Tobirama buried up to his shoulders. The blessed one is red faced and panting with exertion. He looks around wildly, meeting Hikaku's gaze for a moment that seems to stretch forever before he tears his red eyes away, struggling fruitlessly against the dirt and stone holding him still.
Hikaku hesitates. He wishes they had time to talk, wishes he had time to ask, because the last thing he wants is for Tobirama to resent him for this. But the way he'd been moving and the sounds of pursuit in the woods behind can only mean whoever had him fleeing is close. If Hikaku wants to claim Tobirama for himself, he has to do it now.
"I'm sorry." He breathes, like it will help anything. He loosens the dirt on one side, enough for Tobirama to free one arm, which he does immediately. Hikaku is waiting for it, and he catches the limb, interlocks their fingers, and wraps the red silk cord that every Uchiha who's come out to the hunt tonight has brought with them around both of their wrists, heart thundering all the while.
Tobirama stops struggling after the first knot is tied, but he waits until they're fully bound together to say, "It seems you've caught me, Uchiha-san."
His voice is even, there's no fear or anger in it, and now that it's really over he allows himself to meet Hikaku's eyes. Tobirama looks like he's calculating. Considering.
Hikaku smiles at him, self depreciating. He's just some faceless Uchiha to Tobirama, he knows. No one important. He hopes that doesn't make the fact that he's the one who caught him sting even worse.
"You can call me Hikaku." He says, loosening the rest of the dirt and helping Tobirama climb free. Tobirama accepts it -- has to, since their hands are bound.
They're both still on their knees, facing each other when Madara arrives in the clearing with the thunderous crack-snap of stones shattering under his feet when he lands. Izuna is behind him only a moment later -- if they had gotten frustrated with Tobirama slipping away and decided to work together, then it's no wonder he had been so harried when he'd arrived.
"Madara-sama." He greets, "Izuna-sama. I don't suppose you'd mind giving us a bit of privacy?"
Both of them stare for a long moment, eyes comically wide before sharing a look with each other. Izuna makes a helpless wheezing sound, and Madara has to be the one to grab his arm and say, voice high, "Yes. Let's go."
Tobirama almost looks bemused as they flee, though it's fleeting, replaced with that cool consideration as he turns to regard Hikaku. He's the one who caught Tobirama, but he has to suppress a shiver at that red eyed gaze.
Tobirama is beautiful, so no matter how this goes he'll have that, at least but…
"I would have liked to have asked if you if you were okay with this." He admits, "But now that they've seen, I'm afraid there's no going back."
Tobirama tilts his chin up imperiously.
"Do not pity me. I knew what I was getting into when I agreed to this."
In return, Hikaku thins his lips.
"Agreeing to a hunt and getting caught are two very different things." He argues, then sighs. "But I suppose that hardly matters, now. Is -- ah." He truly is unprepared for this, because his fantasies involving Tobirama have been more domestic than anything else. "…Is there a way you'd prefer to do this?"
Tobirama must be unimpressed with the blush coloring his cheeks, Hikaku thinks. At least until he notices this pink starting to dust Tobirama's own.
"…I knew what I was getting into." Tobirama repeats, but this time his voice is quieter, eyes fixed down, on their intertwined fingers, "The treaty may not have demanded a marriage, but peace will be much more stable if one exists."
Oh. Hikaku breaths. Oh, he had been planning on getting caught. If things had gone differently, Tobirama may well have treated the forest of hunters like a buffet of suitors to pick and chose at his will, but instead...
"What I mean to say is --" Tobirama shuffles forward until their knees are touching and he can feel the warmth of Tobirama's breath on his lips, "-- I came prepared. And you did catch me fair and square, Hikaku-san."

Weekly Music Roundup 28/6/24 :)
Heya! I've had a lot more free time lately to listen to some new music, so I'm going to be sharing what I listen to each week through a Friday Tumblr post. I'm aiming to listen to an album (or EP, compilation, DJ mix, etc etc) a day, and this week my schedule wasn't perfect, but I found a lot of great stuff nonetheless and want to talk about it!
Look at this pic I took omg. just wanted 2 share ^_^
Tinashe - BB/ANG3L (2023)
I'd always been aware of Tinashe, but hadn't taken the time to deep dive into her discography until she dropped the Nasty remix EP (JANE REMOVER REMIX????). "Nasty" is a banger obviously, but a lot of stuff on BB/ANG3L is excellent as well! She traverses so many genres with ease and excels at each of them. This is such a diverse showing, and it's very concise as well, having a runtime of just 20 minutes. I feel like anyone can find something they vibe with on here. Personally, my favourite track was "Gravity," a song with gentle vocals juxtaposed with a bit of a breakbeat moment. I always love a breakbeat and was shocked to hear one on here. Overall, BB/ANG3L was short enough to leave me wanting more, but in a good way. I hope that she builds upon this sound and vibe with her next album! I'm super excited to listen to Quantum Baby and listen to the rest of Nashe's discography.
Jane Remover - jane_remover_heatwave.zip [NTS Radio] (2024)
Real ones know that I am Jane Remover's no.1 fan. That is a vast exaggeration, but I love her music to bits and greatly enjoy these DJ sets she does. Each one has a different vibe and the ones she's been doing lately have been my favourites ever. The mixing is immaculate and the tracks she mashes up are always so unexpected but go so well together. I really loved heatwave, especially the mashup between her song "Lips" and the Carti song "Different Day." So damn hard. These sets are always the highlight of my month and always become mainstays in my DJ mix rotation. Give it a listen!
Mk.gee - Two Star & the Dream Police (2024)
I was a little intimidated to listen to Mk.gee (Mike Gordon), since I've heard so many great things about him. However, I heard "Are You Looking Up" in Jane Remover's new DJ mix and fell in love with it instantly. The guitar playing intrigued me since it sounded so...different to what I'm used to. The control Mike has over his instrument is phenomenal and allows him to create these really unique sounds and textures. There's a wonderful energy to all of these songs that I can't quite place. Due in part to the interesting guitar sounds, but also the really distant-sounding vocals, nostalgic melodies, and bits of noise peppered about, this album vaguely reminds me of something that would be heard in an empty building. Not the backrooms or anything, but like...a quiet mall in the suburbs. Is that weird? Probably. On songs like "Candy" the melodies sound really 80s to me for whatever reason, and...I don't know. The nostalgia? Regardless of whether I've placed the vibe or not, Two Star is a wonderful collection of hopeful, sweet guitar melodies interspersed with little bits of noise. I need more people to get on the Mk.gee train RIGHT NOW. What are you even doing with your life if you haven't listened to this? I can seriously see Mike becoming an all-time great.
lil hero - pawwwfect! (EP) (2023)
Okay, this is another one I found from Jane's set. "big flirt" is such a bop, and it sounds kind of familiar to me (upon further research, the song went viral in 2022 ish...I have no recollection of that year tbh.). It's a song that instantly puts a smile on your face with its sweet bubblegum production and wonderful vocals. This whole EP sounds like bright pink. There are pitched-up samples, bouncy uptempo grooves, and cute lyrics about falling in love all across pawwwfect, and I eat that shit up. I need lil hero and PinkPantheress to collab; I feel like that could change my life. All in all, it's a great 16-minute project that makes me feel like a...chihuahua in a pink purse. Which is exactly how I want to feel. Excited to hear what lil hero does next! :3
Radiohead - In Rainbows (2007)
I've definitely listened to In Rainbows before but I don't think I ever properly digested it. It's an overwhelming album to take in upon first listen. I revisited it a couple days ago after not really liking it the first time I listened to it, and needless to say it clicked for me. I still need to listen to this a couple thousand more times to really get it, but as of right now I think In Rainbows is an excellent and innovative record that is as thought-provoking lyrically as it is gorgeous sonically. The whole album made me feel like I was spinning. I don't know why or how, but I physically felt sort of dizzy, like the world was trembling around me. Strange how music can do that. It's magic.
Not on free Soundcloud smh
Jelani Aryeh - The Sweater Club (2024)
I got this album in my Apple Music (do NOT judge me or you're BLOCKED. STOP IT.) recommended before it came out and was really drawn to the album art. As the no.1 "person lying on grass" fan and president of "person lying on grass" NATION I was intrigued, but also had absolutely no idea who Jelani Aryeh was hahah. I presaved but didn't listen to any of his discography and just listened to it when I realized it was out. The Sweater Club is a wonderful collection of indie pop jams that are warm and summery. The art matches the music super well - I felt like I was lying in the grass on a breezy summer morning as I listened, and am definitely turned on to more of Jelani's music now. Holy shit this was such a gorgeous record.
Kevin Abstract - Blanket (2023)
I listened to this at like...2 am and have no recollection of it, other than that it was filled with jams. I really liked "The Greys." Will probably have more to say about it after another listen hahaha.
Couldn't find this on Soundcloud, sorry!
Okayyyy and that was every album I listened to this week! (minus the relistens...which there were many of lol.) I hope you enjoyed reading my little ramblings and I hope you have a great week to come :)
Now i am going to sleep. In the morning i will listen to tonight's new releases. Today is stacked tbh
