this panel from the world guide of falin being surrounded by other girls while laios is all alone kills me because. that's it. that's the key difference in their journeys.
as laios states himself, he left the village in order to create a home for him and falin elsewhere. a home that won't collapse due to others' hatred and fears like their old home did, a home where they are loved and accepted unconditionally. but as he soon found out, even before earning money, or having walls surrounding him and a roof above his head- what he so earnestly desired was to meet other people who will accept him for who he is as well. instead, he kept being tormented by those around him, shunned and sneered at. his loneliness quickly became all-consuming until he truly had nothing left except for the monsters in the pages of his book, but even that became a target of mockery and destroyed. that's why ever since the day he left the village, he never felt that he truly made the right choice. so he kept running away: unable to resist and unable to accpet.

and an ocean away from him there was his sister, who never managed to fully fit in herself. but unlike him, she met a person who became a home to her and learned what a true friendship was for the first time in her life. and laios clearly realizes that too when he finally sees falin and marcille together, he can tell his sister obtained the greatest treasure there is on her own- the exact thing he never managed to find anywhere himself, thus coming back empty-handed to the sister he left the village for.

but when you read this part of the manga, laios's focus is on falin's loneliness, not his own. he talks about how it hurts thinking about all those moments she had to spend alone because he wasn't there for her, so it almost sounds like he's the one who couldn't bear her suffering and therefore decided to not let her go again. but we do get a glimpse of their first meeting after that almost-decade long separation in the manga, and then we see more of that in the world guide and daydream hour- and it becomes abundantly clear that it was falin who was trying to protect and save him from this pit of loneliness and depression he was in.

so instead of just doing his best to atone for leaving her behind in the village and making sure she is never lonely again, it might also be that laios was desperately clinging to the one person in the world he felt that accepted and loved him unconditionally. those words he used to describe his motivation to stay by falin's side are the exact words she would've used as well; she couldn't bear leaving him behind in this state. in a sense, they were each other's shackles.
but then she did. she died for him and their friends, and ironically enough, it was by leaving him alone like this that he was finally able to stand on his own and put his full trust in others. to have the courage to reveal who he is and give others the opportunity to accept him after such a long time of hiding. it was a long journey, but his hiding finally came to an end when he faced the others after shedding his monster form. and i love that the person who was falin's "home" all those years away from laios, marcille, became just as meaningful to him during their time separated from falin- the first one to find him and show him that he isn't alone anymore. just as he did for her.

so at the end of the story when falin talks about all the places she would like to go, it's not just that she wants to pursue her own dreams- but that she actually feels free to do so and go anywhere she desires. and one of the main reasons for that is that her brother finally found new people he wants to be with; his own home.

"I.. have a boyfriend,"
to an extent. the guarded, suspicious look on your face would have concerned malleus to no belief, to others. he wouldn't have bat an eye whatsoever, but it's you so the feeling crawls up his spine and clouds his heat. he can't help the slight nudge of offense clouding his face cause you definitely shouldn't have any reason to make such a face to his.
the more his arm reaches out towards you—to ground your swaying form perhaps, the more you seem to be inching away from him. which shouldn't make sense at all! "child of man?" he murmurs. dropping the attempt to console you, to which you squint at him. back pressed against the front door to his dorm.
"who are you?!" you point at him, and he blinks. mortification spreads in his head. you've.. accumulated amnesia?!
malleus' fingers clench around the fabric on his chest, just after he had retracted the outstretched limb in fear of frightening you even more. there's a certain stiffness to his hand that illicit a drop of sweat from his forehead. him? he's your mal?
if he had the nerve to cry, he would.
but of course, you remain a priority. you exhibit unnatural behavior. no one just forgets important details in a day! you especially, won't forget about him! and he won't let you, ever.
you sway. your eyes darting around, and squinting like you're struggling to focus on one subject of your attention, a factor that might affect it is the fact you keep looking around instead on settling on something, preferably him. and, malleus is torn between steadying you, or him.
he chooses you.
despite your half hearted protest that audibly makes him sulk more, he twists the door to the dorm open and ushers you inside. not too much of a struggle, if anything, you seem lighter, and he almost actually hauled you around with minimal effort.
"must be a good night," a voice purrs, malleus doesn't have to glance at the source to know that it's lilia. years spent with the man does wonder with familiarity. it took him a couple of decades to get used to him. strangely enough he feels like he's known you longer, despite not.
the statement makes the taller male frown. lilia though, keeps the tiny smile, now tickled with a hint of amusement as the rubies shift from your blubbering form to malleus' face. oh? he's upset now. lilia muses. it's easy to ascertain his boy's move, like a sixth sense.
so lilia decides to probe further. "no? your face tells me otherwise."
malleus huffs a little. one of the habits he never seemed to grow out of ever since he learned to keep his... more draconic traits at bay. "you are less than accurate with your assumption," his eye twitches, either torn between distressed or irritation. despite the conflicting behavior, he still manages to treat you with a gentle hand while leading you towards the couch.
"it is a very terrible day." malleus continues. sad enough to complain, but fond of you enough to take the hint from your apparent cautious behavior towards him. lilia almost laughs when he spies him gloomy, sitting on the far end, away from you.
the lightning strikes just as the clouds roll in. lilia peers behind the curtains, chuckling a little at the weather.
well! he just hadn't seen malleus moping around this much since, what? when that gold trinket wouldn't fit in his tower anymore? "why so, my dear?" lilia coos, positively charmed by the 'adorable' disposition.
of course, he already knows. he'd heard your exchange moments ago.
lilia retains the easy look. "the child of man has forgotten about me," malleus explains. looking more stressed by the second. "whoever has done this, will pay." from a sad, faraway look to rage suddenly. "I beg of you, please return them." then switches back...?
he has half the mind to pretend like you're never gonna return normal but decides against it.
"of course!" lilia chirps. "they'll be well by tomorrow."
and, malleus looks like he had been holding the world by his shoulders seconds ago, a sigh of relief.
the next day, you're not sure why malleus is introducing himself in concerning detail. do you really need to know what color his assigned blanket was when he was given birth to...?

if anything, he's really the one who enabled your behavior.
"just one more." , "oh my, need another?" , "you look like you need it, come on now, don't be shy, you only live once~"
concerned, silver steadied you as you wobble on your feet. babbling about some nonsense under your breath which only illicits the boy to cast a disapproving glance at lilia (who only wears an amused smile).
"seems like they had quite the night." a cheery comment from the latter, and silver makes no move to resist when he moved closer with silent steps, then pries you to his side inside with a gentleness that would prove that he isn't.. actually the reason for your state, but not really.
lilia cooed, like he'd coddled them before. silver thinks but it is so distinct from the way he used to coax them into bed. "time for bed."
you peel your eyes open, squinting with a crease between your brows. you tug at your arm, of which doesn't really budge but lilia decides to humor the struggle so he lets go and raises his brows. "I'm not a kid!" you say, then turn your head to the side—like a kid.
oh, so adorable. lilia croons, swooning inside his head for a bit. how he'd like to simply hold you for hours end...
the romantic monolog of his daydreams though, is interrupted by you once more. ironic since you were the one he was just day dreaming about.
"oh, my. is that so? how lucky of me." he chooses to say instead.
silver sweatdrops. glancing between your hazy... anger maybe? it's not really anger in all honesty, just bordering. then to the lax demeanor his father exhibited. a glance would find normality in it, but he hasn't seen him pick on someone so...
he doesn't know the word for it, perhaps insisting on bothering a singular person as much as he can?
you gasp, snapping your head to silver. cause apparently you recognize him, but seemed scandalized by lilia's presence. "silver! protect me!"
amused, lilia watches you scurry back behind the boy.
"there's nothing to protect you from..."
"there's a man!"
"I'm a man too..."
"there's a bad man!"
your head peeks out from silver's confused frame, lilia's head follows the action. tilting to the side as you eye him hilariously warily. hmmm.. so very cute. "I'm an innocent, only wishing to steal my beloved." he replies, with a usual lightness. though the usual relaxation you had around him is replaced with irritation.
"you can't steal me away, my boyfriend and his children will strangle you."
lilia shares a look with silver. where did they get the idea of... such violence?
silver shrugs. not a clue, he seems to reply back, committed to just remaining a bystander even if he's technically in the middle.
"is that so?"
you nod vehemently, a more open vulnerability clear on your face than before. you point to lilia (well, technically you don't actually know its him! or maybe you're just playing with him?) squinting, accusing at all with him at the end of your pointer finger. the male only raises his brow, and flashes you a cheeky smile.
lilia contemplates playing with you. as in, replying 'why don't you guess?' because knowing you, even in this state you'd probably tell him: "how would I know?" then proceed to guess anyway.
you would have a cute expression, perhaps. but he isn't so cruel to the point where he would waste time—time you could be using to rest instead, preferably get sober, remember him when you wake up, and return to your lovey dovey self.
alright. maybe not lovey dovey on some days but he would definitely prefer that than you using his son as a shield against him, like the boy could actually hold him back.
well, it is technically his fault... but lilia had all the intentions to care for you if you ever got too drunk, he'd hold you up if you were too unsteady, guide you away from possible fiends, and make sure you recovered well the following morning.
but, this definitely didn't enter his area of expectations.
"yup!" you cry. "he might be short, but he can kick butt." for someone who's heard many arrogant words, he's never seen one who says one thing���a threat in your case, then you proceeded to cower behind the nonchalant silver.
you nudge silver.
silver blinks. "um... that's correct."
you glance back at lilia. as if to say I told you!
"so... he will kick my... butt?" lilia hums, indulging in using the world. goodness, good thing sebek is not here. that boy definitely would've kicked you out for endorsing such foul language.
he feigns a look of horror, to his amusement you seem to brighten.
simply adorable...
long story short. you seem to believe you've truly scared him off when he disappears.
concerned even more, silver watches you welcome lilia back with a dreamy sigh. like... you actually recognize him as your lilia, and not the guy you were just... threatening to bite the curb.
this is absurd... I should just rest... silver sighs.
lilia only beams at the showering affection.

james is very fascinated by muggle cameras. lily and regulus notice this of course and lily pitches an idea: to get james a camera for his birthday. they save up the money they need for a higher quality camera and wrap it up in a fancy box and present it to him on his birthday. the smile james gives them is worth every penny they spent.
they expected the obsession that came after. james took his camera everywhere, always taking pictures, not just of the the scenery or himself, but of his friends and family and most importantly of lily and regulus. what they didn't expect was that james had all of their photos printed and compiled them into an album, decorated it and drew little hearts and stars and flowers on it and wrote down little notes of what had happened the day the photos were taken. he revealed this album to them on their anniversary as a shared gift.

Stuck in the middle of a forest made of

There are two things Daniel Fenton knows that his family knows as well: 
He’s adopted.
He can’t remember anything else before that.  
‘Adoption’ is a loose term, implying that they went through the official legal processes and troubles of adopting a child into their home willingly, and with the full intention of doing so going into it. That is not what happened. What happened is that Jasmine Fenton found a half-dead child, in strange clothing, in the middle of the woods at her Aunt Alicia’s cabin, and then she went and got her parents. 
What happened is that a twelve year old Danny woke up in the same cabin, wearing clothes much too big on him that didn’t belong to him, and with very little memory of before that moment. He wakes up like a spring being set loose, sitting up so fast he scares the daylights out of Jasmine Fenton sitting next to him. He wakes up, reaching for his sleeve for something that isn’t there, and when it isn’t his mind stutters, like he’s tripped at the top of a steep hill. 
When they ask him for his name, he tells them, clearing muddled thoughts from his mind; Danny. He’s twelve.
(He thinks that’s his name, at least. It sounds right; it feels right. If he thinks really hard about it, he thinks he can remember someone calling him that, utter adoration in their voice. So it must be his name.) 
The Jasmine girl convinces her parents to take him home with them, and they give him the spare guest room upstairs. He has nothing to fill it with.
It’s… a strange experience, to go to a ‘new’ home when he doesn’t even remember his old one. 
The official adoption process… happens. He can’t say it’s easy, or difficult. He’s oblivious for the most of it, Jasmine intends on helping him settle in and Danny can’t say he enjoys the smothering. He learns that he is stubbornly self-independent, that’s one new thing he knows about himself. 
His adoption papers say ‘Daniel J. Fenton’. Danny remembers staring at the name ‘Daniel’ for a long, long moment, something curdling sour in his sternum. His name is Danny, that he knows. But it’s not Daniel. But he doesn’t know any other way of saying it, so he keeps his complaints to himself.
(Jack Fenton boisterously claps his hand on Danny’s shoulder and jerks him around, grinning wide as he welcomes him into the Fenton Family. Danny’s mind blanches at the touch on his shoulder, an instinct snapping like the maw of a snake, telling him to cut off the man’s fingers for daring to touch him.) 
(He keeps the thought to himself, tension rising up his shoulders the longer Jack Fenton’s heavy hand stays on him.) 
They found Danny in the summer. It’s a perfect coincidence, Maddie Fenton says before she goes back into her lab with Jack Fenton. She says it’s enough time to allow Danny to adjust; that they’ll enroll him into the school year in the fall. Then she stuffs a canister of ectoplasm onto the top shelf, and disappears like the ghosts she studies back down the stairs.  
(There’s something eerily familiar about the ectoplasm sitting in the fridge, something unsettlingly so. Danny knows what that stuff is, but he doesn’t know where. When the house is empty, he takes a can from the fridge and inspects it.)
Jazz wants him to leave the house. Danny doesn’t want to step foot outside of the FentonWorks building until he has something that quells the feeling of vulnerability he gets whenever he does. He tried to once, and he felt exposed. Unsafe. 
He turned back around and went inside.

One day, when the house is empty — or, as empty as it can be; the Fenton parents down in the lab, and jazz out with friends. Danny is making a sandwich, and he caves into the urge to flip the knife in his hands between his fingers. A childish impulse, but one he falls for nonetheless. It comes to him easily, like second nature, in fact. The slip of the blade between his fingers is seamless, flowing with an ease like water running down the wall.  
He’s almost startled by it; his body holds memories that his mind does not. Muscles that know which way to move and twist, limbs that know how to hold and how to throw. He continues twirling it, fascinated, as if he were a scientist discovering a new species of animal. 
It’s not for a handful of minutes when a new thought hits him; an impulsive thought that pops in the back of his mind like a firecracker; Danny moves without thinking. 
He turns, and throws the knife. The pull of his shoulder, the flick of his elbow, is familiar like a hug. He knows when to let go, and the blade flies through the air in impressive speed, embedding itself into the wall with a hearty, loud thunk. Sinking into the drywall like butter. 
Danny stares at it in shock, he feels relieved — about what? — before he feels the guilt. He scrambles across the kitchen to pull it out, heart racing in his chest at being caught, and prays no one notices the hole it left behind. 
(He runs up the stairs before anyone can find him, food forgotten, and hides the knife beneath his mattress like a guilty murder weapon.)
After that, he leaves the house more. It’s more out of fear of being caught than the desire to leave. But Danny is quickly learning that among all things, he is someone who was dangerous, before he lost his memory. Even with his mind in fractures, he is still dangerous. 
He’s not sure how to feel about that — he thinks he should be scared. He feels a little proud, instead.

Hazel beneath our claws
While we wait for cerulean to cry
Unsettled ticks run through time
Enough for the hunt to go awry

There’s another thing he learns about himself. That he knows about since he woke up. He knows that he left someone behind. He doesn’t know who, but he knows they must have been close; he’s always looking down and finding himself surprised when the only shadow he sees is his own. 
He thinks that he must have sung to them a lot; he finds himself humming familiar melodies when he’s lost in thought. Lullabies lingering at the tip of his tongue, an instinct to turn and sing them to someone beside him. He can’t remember the lyrics, but his mouth does, it tries to get him to say them when he’s not thinking. He can’t. 
Danny’s found himself humming under his breath more times than he can count, trying to recall whatever it is his mind is trying to claw forward. 
(“That’s a pretty song, Danny.” Jazz tells him at breakfast one day, Danny screws his mouth shut. He hadn’t realized he was humming. “What is it?”) 
(Something mean and possessive rears its head on instinct, uncoiling like a snake from its ball. His shoulders hunch defensively, he bites his cheek to prevent himself from baring his teeth. He doesn’t know what song it is, but it’s not for her. “I don’t know.”)  
He misses his person. Dearly. He knows, the longer he is without them, that they must have been close. Otherwise, he wouldn’t feel like he’s missing a chunk from himself. He wouldn’t be turning to someone who's not there; reaching for a hand that’s missing, birdsong on his tongue, a story to tell. 
A dream haunts him one night. Warm and familiar, he’s holding onto someone smaller than him, they’re tucked into his side like a puzzle piece. He’s humming one of his songs that is always playing in the back of his mind, an unfinished tale of a harpy and a hare. Danny can’t remember their face, not all of it. He remembers green eyes, hair dark like his own, skin brown like his. 
He loves them more than anything else in the world, a fact he knows down to his soul. He loves them so much it fills his heart with sunlight. Danny squeezes them tight, nuzzling into their hair; he makes them laugh. Then, he proudly boasts something. That when he takes something of their father’s, that his person — a sibling? That feels right — will be… the word fades from Danny’s mind before he can make sense of it. 
His person hugs him tight, his… brother? And their mother — a woman whose face he can’t remember either, but who he loves like a limb nonetheless — appears, smiling. Her hands reach for them both, voice calling them, ‘her sons’. There’s ticking in the distance, it sounds like the fastening of chains.
Danny wakes up cold, tears streaming down his face. The details of the dream already fading from his mind like the cold pull of a corpse.

When school starts that Fall, Danny joins the sixth grade class, and quickly learns more things about himself. One of those things being that he’s smarter than the rest of his grade, whatever education he had before, it was better than the one he’s getting now. 
Everyone knows he’s adopted right off the bat. He tells them when the teacher forces himself to introduce himself, but it’s not like they needed him to tell them for them to know; he never existed in their little world before now, and the Fentons are pale as they come. Danny is not.
He befriends Sam Manson and Tucker Foley; they ask him about the scars fading up and down his arms, they ask him about the scar carved diagonal across his face.
Danny, as politely as he can, tells them he doesn’t remember. He thought kindness would come second nature to him, his dream burned into his mind where he hugged his brother so sweetly. Apparently, his sweetness is only second nature to people he considers his own. 
(It becomes even more apparent when Dash Baxter tries to bully him later that day, and Danny ruffles like an eagle threatened. His mind whispers, hissy and agitated, sinking like a shadow at his shoulder, several different ways Danny could kill him for talking to him like that, and fifteen more ways he could cripple him.)
(Danny ignores those thoughts, up until Dash Baxter tries to grab him. Then he breaks his nose on the wood of his desk. It’s easy how quickly the rest of his grade sinks him down to the status of social pariah.)
(At least Sam and Tucker still talk to him after that. When Danny goes to the principal’s office later, he wisely doesn’t mention the worse things he could’ve done than break Dash Baxter’s nose.)

More dreams come, of course they do. Each one halfway to forgotten whenever he wakes up, ticking faint in his ears. He is many different ages. He is young, shorter than a table. He is older, holding onto his little brother. He is singing in almost every single one. He is singing to his brother. 
Danny can barely remember the lyrics, he’s begun leaving a journal by his bedside so that it’s the first thing he can write down when he wakes up. He’s a storyteller, he learns. He feels like a historian, trying to piece together a culture long dead and forgotten. 
His most vivid dream-like memory is not a happy one, and for once he’s almost relieved he barely recalls it. He is somewhere that isn’t home, but his mother and brother are there. He is dressed in black, blades keen in his hands. 
They are atop a moving train. They are fleeing something. His brother is struggling to keep up, he is small, and young. It’s beautifully sunny, they are somewhere green and lovely. 
It is a fast dream. 
His brother stumbles on something, and Danny, fast as a whip, snatches him by the back of his shirt and hoists him up to his feet before he can fall. “Watch your feet, habibi.” He murmurs low, a hand on his back. It’s hard to hear, there is wind in their ears.
His brother, face obscured in all but his eyes, which are green as emeralds, nods. 
The dream blurs, but Danny falls behind. His foot catches on air — impossible, it should’ve been, at least. He never trips. — and he lands against the roof with a thud and a grunt. His mother and brother stop, and turn for him. 
The train hits a turn before Danny can get up, and he shouldn’t have, something pulls on him, he swears, but he slips. He can’t find the purchase to pull himself up, cold fear hits him as his nails scrape against the metal. 
His mother and brother’s horrified faces are the last thing he sees before he disappears off the side of the train. 
(The ticking is at its loudest when he wakes up, pounding against his inner skull. He only manages to write down ‘train fall’ in his journal, before he’s flipping over to press his head into his pillow to get the pain to stop.)

When Danny is fourteen he is still humming songs he can’t remember, his mind still in a broken puzzle. But his room is now decorated with stars and plants in every corner. He has a guitar he keeps in the corner of his room, and he plays the lullabies in his head on the strings over and over again. 
The ectoplasm in the fridge still unsettles him, still reminds him of a past he can’t recall. The knife beneath his mattress has returned to the kitchen — he doesn’t need it. He found a box in the attic last year, it had his name on it, and inside he found familiar, strange clothes, and more weapons than he thought was possible to carry on one person. 
(Even without knowing that the Fentons prefer guns to blades, Danny knows, instinctively, that they were his weapons. He was — was? Is — a dangerous person. He takes the box down to his room to sort through. The weapons all fit into his callused hands almost perfectly — the grooves worn to fit his palm. They’re just a little small.) 
(He tentatively takes a small blade with him to school one day, and feels much more comfortable with it sheathed beneath his shirt. He’s kept it on him ever since, like he’s reunited a lost limb to himself.)   
Danny doesn’t have a name for his person, his little brother, nor does he have a name for his beloved mother. He’s haunted by dreams every few weeks, many of them repeating. He’s ingrained the words he can remember to memory, and the ones he doesn’t, he writes down in his journal. His little brother; Danny calls him a bird, he can’t figure out what kind. His little bird of some kind; when Danny takes something from their father — what, he can’t remember what — then his little brother will be a little bird. 
(He doesn’t have a name for his brother, yet, but he’s calling his birdie in his head. It’s better than nothing.)

When he’s fourteen, Danny dies. It does nothing to fix his fractured memories, much to his consternation. It just confirms something he already knows; that he was someone dangerous, and that he still is. 
When the shock of death has worn off, Danny inspects his ghost in the metal reflection of the closest table. It’s blurry, hard to see, but shock green eyes pierce back at him, green like the portal. Lazarus, Danny’s mind whispers, and he blinks rapidly.
‘Lazarus,’ he mouths to himself. It’s familiar. Sam shows him with her phone what he looks like, joking that he looks like an assassin. Danny doesn’t think she’s that too far off. 
He doesn’t tell her that. He tucks the thought away with the rest of his secrets, and fiddles with the hood gathering at his neck, attached to a cape with torn edges swinging down to his ankles. He pulls it over his shock white hair. It shadows over his face impossibly so, until all you can see are his green-green eyes peering out like a wolf hiding in the brush.
He ends up calling himself Phantom.

Agathario | Parent & Teacher AU
Agatha is a single mom and this weekend Nicky is with his dad (who Agatha HATES considering he cheated on her and threw away 9 years of marriage but atleast Agatha finally got out of that terrible relationship and realized she was a raging lesbian)
Agatha was planning on spending her Saturday alone sipping on wine and watching terrible hallmark movies until she realized that day would’ve marked their 10th anniversary and all of sudden she didn’t want to pathetically rot alone in her big house that was way too lonely without her sunshine of a son so she slips on her sluttiest dress and ends up some packed bar
Most of the crowd was in their 20-30s but for some reason she didn’t feel old. Okay she did but it didn’t bother her so much because she knew she looked hot and she overhead at least 7 different people call her a milf so Agatha felt pretty good about herself
Agatha was sitting at the bar, on her second drink, when someone slid up on to the stool next to her. Agatha looked over, it was a woman probably in her 30s with short dark raven hair and big brown eyes that looked innocent at first glance but it was clear by the woman’s smirk and the tongue that pressed up against the inside of the woman’s mouth as she looked Agatha up and down that she was anything but innocent
Agatha learns that her name is Rio and Rio was wearing the most delicious slack and crisp white shirt with a couple buttons open exposing a hint of cleavage that made the older woman’s mouth go dry
She also learns that Rio is a sweet talker and there’s something that Agatha just can’t resist so that’s how they end up making out in the bathroom and then in the passenger seat of Agatha’s car where Agatha finally understands the logics of Chappell Roan’s song Casual
The sex is so good, it makes her head spin, and it’s on her drive home alone that she realizes she doesn’t even get the woman’s number or last name. Agatha knows this is going to haunt her.
With the weekend coming to a close, Nicky is dropped off back home Sunday night where they eat his favorite dinner and get his backpack ready for his first day of 2nd grade tomorrow. Agatha lets Nicky pick out a new SpiderMan shirt to wear, even though she wanted to dress him in a stylish Zara kids fit, but she realizes that kids are only kids once and relents
The next morning, the school blacktop is bustling with kids and their parents. Some kids are crying and some parents are too. Agatha was more composed than she thought she’d be, wearing her work clothes to head to the office right after this and her hair swept up into a claw clip.
One cue, Agatha’s ex husband shows up and she had to plaster on a fake smile when her son runs up to him and gives him a hug. Together the three of them walk over to Nicky’s classroom and line up with the other families waiting to situate their kids and meet the teacher
“Woah buddy! Awesome Spidey shirt! I’m Miss. Vidal but call me Miss. V!” Agatha hears the teacher say and it itches something in her brain. She was busy fixing Nicky’s hair so she wasn’t looking at the teacher but once she did, her jaw fell slack. Both of theirs did. Rio.
Rio dressed very different from the bar. She had a sundress on and a soft cardigan on top. She looked like real life miss honey and since that was Agatha’s first girl crush growing up, it was really doing something for the older woman.
Rio, amidst her shock, is able to reel it in and introduce herself. She shakes the hand of Agatha’s ex and tries (and fails) to mask her reaction when he introduces himself as “Nicky’s Dad”. Agatha quickly remedies it though and clarifies they are not together anymore. Agatha even lets out that she is now a lesbian. Very loudly.
They drop Nicky off, who is clearly already in love with Rio, and Agatha takes one more glance back and is met with Rio staring back at her
Because agatha is so busy at work and Nicky’s dad sometimes picks and drops their kid off to school, Agatha doesn’t see Rio again a few weeks later when Agatha gets a call from the school that that Nicky had gotten in trouble and she needed to come in asap
When she gets to the school office, Nicky is sitting there with the principal and Rio. Apparently Nicky pushed down a boy who said something homophobic about Agatha and at the moment and in the office she reprimanded him but once outside she told him good job.
Rio sends Nicky back to gym class and that leaves her alone with Agatha. With the kids in a different class, Rio invites Agatha to see some of Nicky’s work and they go. Theres a lot of tension and they almost kiss again when Rio is perched up on her desk and Agatha feels a pull towards the younger woman but the school bell rings. Rio tells her she wants to see her again and Agatha can’t agree fast enough and they exchange numbers.
They start hanging out and by that I mean having sex, when Nicky is away with his dad, and Rio can’t deny she’s falling in love with this woman but Agatha is afraid because she’s been wrong about love before but also because this was Nicky’s teacher
And because that, Agatha proposes they stop whatever they are doing and Rio is crushed beyond words
One day, Nicky gets in the car and goes on and on about his day at school and he casually mentions that Miss Vidal asked about her and Agatha doesn’t know if she’s enraged or horny or both so after dropping Nicky off at basketball she is angrily banging on Rio’s door with an argument on the tip of her tongue until the door opens and Rio is wearing one of her crips shirts again but this time with a pair of glasses slipping down the bridge of her nose and Agatha can’t help but throw her arms around her and kiss her hard
They start sleeping with each other again after that but the unspoken rules that they don’t talk about their feelings or label whatever it is they are doing
One time, they spend the night at Agatha’s house and Rio slips out of bed in the morning to get a glass of water when she’s met with Nicky in the kitchen eating cereal and reading a book. Before she could slip away or out the door, Nicky greets her with confusion but excitement.
When he asks what she is doing there in her mom’s pajamas, Rio quickly tells him some innocent lie that the boy eats up. Knowing she can’t just leave him there, she suggests pancakes and they stand over the stove together and make them.
When Agatha wakes up she smiles when she smells food downstairs and keeps it on her face until she sees what is going on. She flips out on Rio and asks her to leave.
Agatha tries to talk to her son but he isn’t bothered by it or confused like she thought he’d be. He even says “is Miss Vidal going to be my new dad? Or my momma? I’d like that. She’s so nice and funny.”
Agatha thought she was protecting her son but maybe she was trying to protect herself and in the process hurt someone who really loves her, loves her son.
Agatha gives Rio time and vice versa and they don’t talk again until parent teacher conferences a few weeks later
Agatha’s ex doesn’t show up so when it’s her turn she walks into the classroom herself and sits in one of the desks across from Rio, who didn’t notice which parent had come in until she looked up from her notes
It’s awkward and Rio is masking her pain and feelings, being professional and talking about Nicky’s progress and Agatha listens but can tell behind those big brown eyes that she’s hurting.
When it comes time to leave, they both stand and Rio offers her hand to shake. Agatha takes it and they look at each other as they shake. Then Agatha is brushing her thumb against the top of Rio’s hand and the younger woman bites her bottom lip. Then they gravitate towards each other and end up in a hug where they both let out a sigh of relief.
“You feel so good” Agatha says
“You smell so good” Rio replies, burying her head in her tousled brown hair
After a moment of just embracing each other Agatha says “I’m sorry. I miss you.” She pulls back to look into her eyes so Rio knows she means it. “I love you. I’m in love with you.”

I desperately need to see a scene at camp where they are accusing Clarisse of being the thief. THE TENSION!! THE DRAMA!!! She has no idea what the fuck their talking about but of course they believe Luke over her cause he's the camp golden boy. I need her yelling at everyone who doesn't believe her! (Dionysus included by the way, she absolutely would yell at him too) AND I want to see her be like "I fucking told you so!" after they find out it's Luke.
AND this would give her such a good reason to hate the trio like we already know she does.

every day i get more upset that “i think i found the ultimate lifeform / i think it may be you” line (and sonic’s subsequent pondering about it) gets IGNORED they DROPPED THAT SHIT like a HOT POTATO & i understand why because the sonic heroes tone pivot and the amnesia plot but u dont understand im so mentally ill over the concept of shadow completely shedding this massive huge important part of his identity onto sonic before dying and sonic having to grapple with that. what does he do with that. he doesnt want that kind of title or responsibility or idea of himself, hes just a guy who likes adventure. but shadow gave it to him happily. & when shadow comes back and is basically affirmed in his previous assumption that whatever he would do with it, sonic is already doing. only to be met with sonic giving it back to him like “hey buddy thanks for letting me borrow it but i dont want it ;^-^”. what do you mean you don’t want to be the ultimate lifeform? Yeah so you know when you're hyperfixated on a show so hard that every time you see something even slightly related your hands turn into impromptu windmills, your chest hurts and you feel like you're about to explode if you don't jump around, and then when you interact with the fandom or watch the show you have to stop every 30 seconds because you're dry sobbing and can't breathe?
Because I may or may not have gotten sucked into Lockwood and Co, and omg their dynamic and the way they love each other but the sarcasm at the same time and the CONSTANT LOCKLYE, like seriously people my nan moves faster, and dear GOD the possibility for ANGST and atsujdehasjHgHahCghacFshshdgdshandHh-

"have we not had a good time together" shes pointing yaz to the rule that yaz very well knows is there: we can travel if you dont ask me any difficult questions. yaz knows this is the rule - "because you ask too many questions", "this team structure isnt flat" - but she also was the one to invite the doctor into her home so im pretty sure she also knows shes not gonna kicked out that easily. she has some leeway. which she has been using between revolution and flux, which is why the doctor reminds her of the rules
i dont think she'd kick her out though. she wouldnt. i think it's just that the more you break the rule, the more unpleasant she becomes to be around, and eventually youre gonna walk out on your own. she doesnt want you to, she'd rather you stay and dont ask questions. but if youre gonna try to ask questions anyway, i think thats whats gonna happen
and yaz must think so too. because she does back off. because she doesnt want that to happen either. and it does anyway
