Ok we need to talk about tragic romance. Classically, we think of Romeo and Juliet (which i personally believe was intended as a comedy but you know, death of author and all), but truly, how tragic can dying next to your lover be? There were minutes between their deaths, they did not have to grieve for long before they were 'reunited' (heaven is canon in shakespeare ok? Dont come for me). Alternatively, we could think of Achilles and Patroclus, who (at least in the Song of Achilles) were seperated in death for quite some time before being finally reunited, but at least they had years of life with one another. Then, we could look to the great unrequited love in stories, but even this, characters grow content with, they can still cherish the moments and memories of the other. Now, HERE ME OUT, but is it not the most tragic romance to slowly fall in love with someone only for an intangible god (showrunner) to abandon you and leave you and your lover in the hands of gods that refuse and deny your love, only for the gods fucking angel/cherubs/whatever (artists of the show (these metaphors are going deep) to root for your love and intend to bring you togethor once more, all while the spectators of your lives (the fucking fandom) cry over what could have been as you are locked in an eternal conflict of what you were made to be and what you were supposed to be as you watch the sunset togethor, forced to stare into eachothers eyes tentatively, in all the glory of the conflict of your mere fictional existence. Fucking Klance from Voltron: Legendary Defender baby, you have topped all existing tragedies. You will never die.

Now if you'll excuse me, i may have to go write a biblically accurate klance fic with all these metaphors I've spun up.

this is mildly OOC but I’ve had the idea since listening to the Edison Kingdom arc that Gillion confesses to Chip over and over in Primordial. bc we learn from that arc that he doesn’t consider it lying if he tells the truth in a language people don’t understand. yeah anyway I just think that’s a fun idea

OUGH STOP ACTUALLY IM INCREDIBLY NORMAL ABT THIS. Imagining him whispering it. And Chip asks what he said, and he just shakes his head. He was talking to himself, he says. It wasn’t a lie- he was. He was just talking about how Chip’s smile is beautiful, and how he’d sacrifice himself a hundred times over for the human. He says it when he knows Jay isn’t around to know what he’s saying. I love you, is said when Chip is playing with Ollie, or laughing with Drey or making another speech. I don’t know how to say it, is whispered when Chip isn’t looking, when they’re alone. It’s not that anyone else would understand it- it’s just- it’s the principle of it. It’s the quietness. It’s a confession without commitment, because the feeling inside of Gillion is so strong that he can’t hold it in, but he can’t tell Chip, because he doesn’t know how to want.

Thinking about Chip going to Caspian/Jay and asking them to teach him some primordial. Him learning that the phrase he hears Gillion say something is a confession of love.

The next time he hears the phrase, he looks at Gillion, and in Primodrial, he whispers, I know.

Ren glanced over at him curiously, frowning. “Have you ever seen that blue stuff before?” “No…” Etho edged towards the nearest vein, examining it with some apprehension. It didn’t move or anything, so he knelt fully. “Have you?” “I don’t think so,” Ren’s footsteps crunched over the ground to join him. “Do you think it’s coming from the dungeon?” ----------------------------- Etho, a wood elf, is traveling when he runs into a past adventuring partner--Rendog. Through a series of unfortunate events, Etho and Ren are sent on a quest to clear out what's supposed to be a small dungeon, but quickly find it to be much, much more than either of them expected. ----------------------------- or, A DnD au, where the fic is decided by dice rolls and other factors, and the plot is the campaign we created for them to adventure through.
