I think if hori wrote toga better more people would like her but he hardly gives a shit about her so her story and personality and thoughts are messy (as in badly written) and nonsensical. I wanna like her but you have to do a lot of leg work to make her interesting and worth the time and love, Hori doesnt love her enough to but a lot of effort into her, unlike the other two male villains who he wont shut up about. Togas always just been (for me personally) an underutilized, underdeveloped waste of what could have been a cool idea. The Anti-toga people are not unfounded in most of their criticisms (MOST), shes the only seemingly queer person and of course shes a lustful blood sucking pervert psycho murderer with no real depth.
(btw you are more than welcome to both ignore this and LOVE toga I am not saying for you shes not worth the time or energy, this is just me reflecting on her and how hori has treated her, i appreciate and value fanon and the effort fans will put into loving her, thats so cool and based, im glad you can find joy in something like that, for people who like her- I wish she was cared for by her writer 💕)
Uh… what I see or believe isn’t fanon broski.
Look Horikoshi has always had a problem of pushing aside the women in his series, the worst of this case has ALWAYS been ochako. Do I think that’s because he wanted to write a gay love story? Yeah, I do. Does that make it okay? Absolutely not. I will be the first person to shout from the rooftops that horikoshi does not write women as well as he should. He has fan service abundant, he makes crude jokes using women that really aren’t all that funny, he’s pushed aside his women and their moments in order to forward bkdk’s development.
But you can absolutely not come into my ask to tell me that she is an, “underdeveloped wasted idea”. Because she’s just fucking not.
People think toga is just “the blood sucking bisexual who likes animals too”, but she’s just fucking not. That’s never been her defining trait or character.
Toga is a subversion of the yandere trope. That sadly means there will always be misogynistic rhetoric because that’s what the trope is. At least BEFORE the subversion happens, which is now! Where Ochako DOESNT FIND HER CREEPY!
She’s going to be creepy and weird and have issues because she’s a villain. She’s a queer villain. Her entire story is one that defies the tragedy of carmilla and refuses to let her identity be anything but “Himiko Toga”. She has always been a character about identity. She’s never been “possessive” or “jealous” over Izuku for this purpose. It’s the reason why she’s bisexual, why she just “has an attraction to blood”. It’s a queer story wrapped in metaphor and it always has been. Why is THIS monster/villain queer story any worse than, idfk, the joker and Batman. I haven’t found a single person able to genuinely voice that to me in a way that is convincing! Horror and unconventional ways of love and ESPECIALLY blood has always always ALWAYS been a part of queer coded stories for a LONG TIME. We are the unconventional. We always have been. And that’s not me “bending over backwards” HER PARENTS LITERALLY CALL HER A DEVIANT AND SHE ASKS WHY NO ONE ELSE STRUGGLES WITH THE URGES SHE DOES.
I’ve said this before, and I’ll fucking say it again, Toga is horikoshi’s most well written and thought out female character. Ochako got kicked over and over again, same with momo, Tsu, Mina, and whoever the fuck else.
And I’m sorry, but writing a queer villain inspired by the lesbian vampire trope isn’t homophobic or bad writing.
She’s HAD depth. Idk if you read her backstory or her feelings on Ochako, twice, hawks, or even Izuku but she’s HAD depth. And I’m tired of pretending she hasn’t.
Normally I wouldn’t engage with shit like this but you reached out to me DIRECTLY. So let me make this clear: you can have whatever opinions you want on toga, and I will not get angry or express anger in any sort of way. But this account? This is not your fucking space and I will ABSOLUTELY meme on you for it.

Barley developed lol say you don’t watch the show without saying you don’t watch the show. And coming from a korras/ami fan complaining about one half of the ship having a male love interest is hilarious. Your allowed not to like the show but it’s clear you are just making shit up for the sake of making things up. Also that locked tomb couple isn’t even canon which is hilarious your not shitting on that couple, book, or it’s writers like your doing with bumble/by. Grow up and ignore it.
mate i had been watching that show from volume 1 to the end of volume 8. i've been in this shitstorm of a fndm since volume 3, i think i know what the fuck im talking about.
also I wasn't complaining that blake had a guy love interest prior, more so stating the fact that the bees weren't 'always set up from the start' like how the shippers want to believe. and thats fine - writers change their minds about the direction of the show, but its irritating when these writers/cast act like its not the case. that they always planned from blake/yang to be a thing from day one when its clearly not true.
if they planned it, they would've acknowledge Yang flirting with girls (like she does with guys), would've shown more pining and actual romantic interest on her part towards Blake thats not just written as her 'charming personality'. Like y'all bring up that wink moment from v2 likes its evidence, but in reality thats just what Yang likes to do to anyone! she's winked to that dude from the club, Weiss & Ruby.
Then that dance scene, it lasted for what? a few seconds? Then Yang happily let Sun have a dance with her without a care. They could've had a small scene where Yang let her chill persona down for a second to see Sun/Blake dancing and with that being her realisation moment. Maybe talking with Ruby or Weiss idk. but in canon - none of that happens. cause the show rather focus on jaune/pyrrha & the whole weiss/jaune/neptune bullshit.
Why should i be happy that we spend episodes focusing on Pyrrha and Jaunes relationship, having Jaune constantly trying to flirt with Weiss despite her not liking it - but have to settle for crumbs of the bees that can just be easily read as platonic to please the homophobes.
R/WBY was very much a straight show with two transphobic jokes till like volume 5, when Ilia mentioned she had a crush on Blake. then we see her for one scene at the start of v6 and she disappears.
I'm not making shit up, y'all are just too up your own asses and licking crwbys boots to see the real picture.
Also I haven't mentioned the locked tomb cause i havent read the books, so have no authority to speak about it. And its not the fact of a ship being canon or not, its getting tired seeing that ship over and over again (despite having it blacklisted) and shippers acting all high and mighty now cause its 'canon' despite acting like the fucking worse towards other shippers.
cause apparently Blake & Yang can't be paired off with anyone else or you'll get harassed / angry comments. I dont even like b/lacksun - but Sun was treated like absolute shit by the bees. like in v4, i remember seeing posts of calling him a 'stalker' and glad he got slapped. When in reality he was a concerned friend who saw his friend running away again/ isolating herself.
I didn't want to hate the show, i had hope for it for a while - because i genuinely liked the characters and potential. but overtime that hope for potential faded and i grew up to realise... R/WBY aint shit.

OKAY HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS I KNOW IM BIASED AND IM NOT LOOKING AT THE BIG PICTURE BUT BEAR WITH ME (heads up for spoilers obviously):
-I expected for one hour and forty five minutes to get one Cali gang scene at ep7. What a wasted opportunity aldjajdksjdudsjfhsj they could have done so many more things that were relevant to the plot I just really hope will fucking byers gets what he deserves in vol 2 because he literally knows the upside down and survived to it? Everybody names him all the time and yet he’s been reduced to a lovesick baby boy and that is not even well developed alcjakfkjsjdksbd I’m angry
-For me the season was VERY good tho, glad to see they’re back in shape after the disaster that was s3, but also as a byers family fan ofc I’m not fucking happy.
-Clearly as a Jancy shipper I’m not either akdjskfksj this was so FORCED I hated it so much it didn’t make sense at all and I don’t think people are truly going to enjoy it because it truly feels like the writers needed a last minute resort to add adolescent drama and they found no one else and were like HEY let’s bring stancy back that clearly makes sense doesn’t it? I’m scared af for Jancy tho and honestly to me it doesn’t look good for vol 2 because how are they even going to meet again if Jonathan is still like on the other side of the country, help
-BUT I do have to say this and perhaps I’m crazy but I don’t care: I actually loved every single scene Jonathan had. I KNOW it could have been a hundred more scenes instead of wasting time on the fucking basketball players and their stupid plot???? But I think Charlie did a wonderful job with every scene he got and I actually felt incredibly relieved in the sense that Jonathan’s worries about his family and university and his relationship were actually addressed and he openly confronted them (yeah his conversation with Argyle was by far my favorite scene in the season, sue me) I loved that we got once again to see his personal struggles and god we hadn’t gotten that since s1 so I have to say i enjoyed it very much.
-I wish I could say the same thing about Will. I can’t even begin to unwrap everything that’s wrong and all the wasted opportunities about the way this perfect and beautiful character is treated but… yeah, I’m angry about that.
-I very much ship byler lol and I fucking need one honest scene where I can have Jonathan and will talking about it.
-um excuse me? That dinner scene and the next day Joyce is just gone???????????????????? Are you fucking kidding me? We didn’t even get the goodbye???????????????? I’m so angry aldjdjskfjsfjiscjjdkx FUCK
-I don’t think Jonathan only got the role of comedy relief and I’m incredibly relieved about that.
-I don’t GIVE A SHIT about Stancy kajfakcjsj that will not end well just stop it I’m begging you it was weird
-I LOVE the fact Nancy will play a major role in vol 2. I need it and hopefully that will clear her brain and we’ll get some very desired Jancy angst???? Give it to me now
-Argyle was another wasted opportunity Jesus I’m so angry akgjsjfks
-I won’t talk about Russia but I did cry a lot when Hop and Joyce reunited ❤️ at least there’s hope somewhere. Also that scene of hop in prison? His monologue? I loved it and I’m so glad they learned from that awful treatment of his character in s3
-I literally don’t care about anything else I just need the byers and mike of course to play an important role in vol 2 but there’s only two episodes left so I think it won’t happen and I’m like so tired???????
-anyway aside from that I TRULY enjoyed this season and I think it was a huge leap forward from s3. I enjoyed the overall plot, I think it was better thought out for certain that s3, it will never top the iconicness of s2 and s1 for me but it comes close in a sense.
-i truly don’t have predictions nor theories for vol 2 and honestly I’m done predicting because I’m always wrong. I just expect something… anything… for the Byers.
Anyway… had to put my thoughts somewhere.

I agree with Kishimoto never trying to use the girls. The hate they get is not fair. I used to defend Sakura back in the days because I hoped kishi would do her justice. When shippuden started I WAS SO HAPPY because I thought this was the start of something great for Sakura and the girls but NOOOOO. Every time, Sasuke showed kishi turned her brainless. If you compare Naruto's actions and Sakura's actions to sasuke, you'd see they're completely different. What's up with that weird fake love confession scene 😭? It makes her look like she was manipulating Naru. JEEZ.
Also he literally had badass Tenten and Temari with cool useful abilities and he didn't use them ?! TF ?! Thank god for modern authors who treat their characters with respect :)
okay2 you know how i am with these longass rants so click readmore and brace yourselves
The way I see it, Sakura's character development in shippuden was always one step forward, two steps back. She gets this really badass scene (like her fight with Sasori and those cool ass medical skills) but is then regressed back into a pining girl in love every time Sauce is on screen or Kishi just throws her in the background YET AGAIN.
I love Sakura's abilities actually. Her brute strength, intelligence, vast knowledge and skill as a medic nin. But what I dislike about her character is how kishi handled her feelings for Sasuke. Naruto and Sakura's obsession with Sasuke was so???? huh??? it was so damn toxic and i never once understood why both Nardo and Sak were so obsessed with him. They were a team for one year???? I mean its great that they care about him alot but Sauce's feelings were kinda valid. His freakin clan died. Id go batshit crazy against my own village too. BUT BESIDES THAT. Both Nart and Sakura's Sasuke obsession was so annoying. 80% of shippuden was literally Keeping up with the Uchihas or Naruto yelling SASUKEH. BUT what irks me so much is the fandom's double standards with both Naruto and Sakura. "Oh Sakura shouldve gotten over her Sasuke obsession" but then turn around and call Naruto's obsession cute and gush about how he's so in love with him!!
Hot take but the only reason why sasunaru is "the most developed ship with the most chemistry" is because theyre both male characters.
I guarantee you if Naruto was a girl and SHE would be the one to have this unhealthy obsession who was chasing around Sasuke, the fandom would shit on Naruto just as much. And if Sasuke were a girl, Sauce would be sidelined like the rest of the female cast and Naruto would have another male character to have a "brotherly bond" with, because thats the only bond Kishimoto is actually good at developing. Yey for male characters having all the screentime and cool assets <333
And about that confession scene, I get her intentions. I really do. I understand that she did that in order to bring him home and that she cares about him but honey, w-why?? Why lie to him about your feelings?? Supposed he DID believe her, then what? then what kishi???? huh??? Some of her fans point the blame on Sai or whatever but I personally dont see why that scene was at all necessary. Maybe to establish Naruto's feelings for her wasnt all that serious? or his maturity? idk man. That scene was such a clusterfuck.
In the end her development in The Last and in Boruto was immaculate. She had one of the best glow ups in the old gen and ironically enough, her character wasn't butchered in Boruto. She got badass scenes she was cheated from in shippuden. I also love how she's finally getting the spotlight she deserves. Unlike the other konoha 12 :,)))
Okay onto the next female character that Kishi completely wasted. My baby. My light. 🙈 AAAHHH HINATAA.
I DONT EVEN KNOW WHERE TO BEGIN OKAY2 DEEP BREATHS.
Let me just establish this real quick. Hinata's goal was to get stronger because of Naruto, her goal was never to be with Naruto. She wanted to become someone who is worthy enough to stand beside him, someone whom he can consider as an equal, as a partner. She NEVER once said "marrying Naruto-kun is my all time goal UwU" (if youre one of those weirdos who interpret her character that way, youre immediately invalid, go take a hike)
I personally dont have anything against their crushes but to the point of making their personalities revolve around these guys every time theyre onscreen is so fucking frustrating. And with the way he writes their dialogues is so.damn.cringey. Like that one scene in the war arc with Tsunade and Madara
"I mAy bE a WomAn but I aM nOt WeAAKKKK"
BAAHAHAAHHA WHAT?? Everyone else gets coolass monologues and one liners but thats the best you can come up with Kishi?????? Hilarious.
If im being honest. Hinata's character is actually kinda well written. Not well executed. Dear God no. But with the way he set her story, her personality, her chracterization. She's honestly one of the best written female characters on the show. IMO. By Kishi's standards of writing women ofc. She's hands down one of the most complex characters. Her shy personality wasnt out of the blue, it wasnt a cutesy waifu trait. Her abusive upbringing made her that way. Her trauma turned her that way. So yeah, sue her if she looked up to Naruto as an inspiration when everyone else in her family treated her like dust. Shit on her for having Naruto's love light in her dark when her own damn father wouldnt even look her in the eye and her entire clan shunned her because she was "weak." She doesnt owe her family shit so idgaf what they do with the Hyuga clan. Neji and Hanabi aren't included btw
Im not gonna deny that her role in the show was only as the love interest but tbh for a love interest, Im glad her character wasnt so one dimensional. It just pains me SO MUCHHH how fucking wasted she is. Every time she's with Naruto, they always make her into a damsel in distress. They always feel the need to turn Naruto into the heroic prince. How cute.
LIKE THAT ONE SCENE IN THE LAST WHERE SHE'S THROWN IN THE CAGE?? WHY??? LET NARUTO AND HINA FIGHT THAT FREAKING ALIEN GOD TOGETHER. QUIT WITH THE TOXIC MASCULINITY. WE GET IT. NARUTO'S STRONG. GOOD FOR HIM. NOW LETS SEE HINATA THROW HANDS AND PUT NARUTO IN THE CAGE GODAMMIT
Hnggggg dont get me started with her role in Boruto. She's as relevant as a damn houseplant in the manga. They made her into an invisible trophy wife and "the mc's mother" and we all KNOW what happens to the shounen mc's mother once mc is in need of character development :) Quit putting her in the background. Give us that scene where she won against Hanabi DESPITE being retired for years. Give us that scene where she trains Boruto. GIVE US ANY FIGHT SCENE OF HER WHERE HER POTENTIAL ISNT WASTED WTF?¿
Now if you say that Hinata didnt have development. YOURE INVALID. She came from an abusive household, the shyest girl in her class, her insecurities got in the way of her own confidence, had difficulty of standing up for herself now became a loving mother of two, has the guts to kick her husband out of the house(with whom she couldnt even keep eye contact with when she was a kid) became the strongest hyuga, most supportive wife and mother, and has given her kids the comforting childhood she never had as a kid.
She has one of the most beautiful stories in the show and if you think her personality is only Naruto-kun and big boobs, then im sorry that you cant appreciate such a heartwarming story.
And I agree, killing her would honestly make me feel more at ease than continue to see her suffer because of godawful misogynistic writers. But at least let her die in an epic fight. Please. PLEASEE. She got nerfed so bad, i feel a physical pain every time i think about it
Tumblr media
Okay what else. I think Ino got pretty good development. Another wasted potential in shippuden but she's doing good for herself in Boruto. I dont know what Temari is up to. They basically made her into another classic angry mom who beats up her husband for comedy trope. Haha very funny and original! Im not sure with her career, im not that invested in the anime.
Tenten??
oh G O D Tenten. The dirtiest of all. Her jokes about her screentime is so mean and i hate that its true ahsjhs. She was the only female character in OG who's goal wanted to be as strong as Tsunade but what did Kishi do to her?? Sidelined. Forgotten. Irrelevant. Like every damn female on the show :D
Konan shouldnt have died. I blame plot armor. I know in my heart that Konan wouldve kicked Obito's ass if it weren't for Kishi's boomer mindset.
Tsunade had so much hype when she was introduced but died down in the war arc. Madara wiped the floor with the kages. Holy shit. Not only that, but yipee! Naruto is there to save the day AGAIN!!!!
AND UGHHHH If the female characters were given proper treatment then maybe MAYBE all the endgame couples wouldve made fucking sense????¿¿¿
I think that ends my rant. Im not sure how the female characters in Boruto are handled. Except maybe Sarada (she's pretty well executed in the manga imo). But arguably they are sooo much better handled in Boruto than how the old gen girls were. And thats because Kishi isnt anywhere near the new gen female cast. I cant formulate a solid opinion with the other new gen female cast since im not entirely invested in the anime. Not ashamed to admit that I only watch it for the sunshine moments and for Hinata :DD

Dean and the Writers
Why do the writers always target Dean with being the bad guy? Seriously, I want to know. First, Davy Perez bought and gassed up that bus and aimed it straight at Dean. They made him lie to Amara. But given the nature of the storyline, God wants to destroy the entire planet. To stop God they also have to stop Amara. They can't just suddenly decide to lock up God because that makes Sam look bad that he bought into God's lies that it destroyed the balance. Either Sam was easily manipulated or Amara doesn't get a choice. She has to be on boaard whether she liked it or not. Otherwise the planet is dead. No way the show is going to send that message about 'Chief' so lets get make Dean the bad guy by refusing to mention or remind the auidence that there is no option but for Amara to be on board and they have to secrure her cooperation by any means necessry but can't remind fans of that. Then Dabb's assistant shoved Dean into traffic, with the whole lying to Sam thing. Not to mention teen Dean's treatment of ppor wooby Sammy. The secret wasn't even that big. Dean said just the week before that a sacrifice would be required and when isn't one but at least it wasn't them. Who do you think he was talking about Sam? Sam is so wishy washy he makes a token objection but refuses to take a stand. Its not like he was bending over backward to find another way. The secret Dean held onto for what a day or two changed absolutely nothing. They also bring out that old tired, 'Dean doesn't trust San argument as justification for the lie. It why the show framed it as Dean somehow making this major revelation and being meen to Sam. Then they had Dean get angry and yell and make selfish statements about how he wants off the hampster wheel. Conviently forgetting to mention that destroying Chuck also saves 6+ billion people. Then Sam totally over reacts but no one really cares becasue they can cheer Sam on because the writing once again framed Dean as in the wrong. Even though Sam could have taken a stance any time he wanted. (Sam with Cas. he was bragging to Dean just a few weeks ago about Jack being a weapon). Then we have Glynn who scored a direct hit this week. Despite, just a few eps ago we had Dean say he was trying to forgive Jack and baking him birthday cakes, they had him shout Dean wasn't family. She had to know the reaction that was getting from the fandom. To back that bus over him some more, of course Jack over hears. Dean pulling a gun on Sam and cocking it. Punching and head butting Sam. That ice cold speech he made to Jack in the car. But nothing once again about the fate of the world being at stake. Then we have Cas and Sam polishing each other's halos when their motivation is just as selfish as Deans'. Sam wants to save his girlfriend and Cas wants to save Jack. Okay, I get that, but at the same time they have no alternative and Chuck can squash them like a bug any time he wants. Sam and Cas are risking 6 billion+ peopple to safe a few. The writing frames this as Sam and Cas being morally right while Dean is wrong. WHen they are literally all doing this for personal gain. Berens is the worst of all when it comes to Dean hate. Dean hate has gone expontially since Mary died. Dean (and Sam) should be the victims here, not Cas and most certainly not Jack. But every controversial deciion that came up the show made Dean do it. (More wishy washy Sam over the Malak box. He made a token objection but took no real stand). But the show realized it went to far and Jack couldn't be this pure innocent soul after killing Mary so he did the next best thing. He shifted blame by having Dean annouce Cas was dead to him. Now suddenly the audience is made at Dean (WHich is what Berens wanted). Then instead of letting Dean be rightfully angry at Cas for lying about the snake, they had Cas flounce and act like the injured party and then validated Cas's actions by having Dean grovel on his knees. (Once again proving my point, because Dean kept a very minor secret for a day or two and got yelled at. Cas kept a secret that lead to Mary's death but yet Dean is still public enemy number one in the fandom. ) So I'm honestly and truly wondering, why do the writers feel this need to frame Dean in such a negative light while they keep framing Sam and Cas in a postitive one for the exact same actions. (Lying, secret keeping, and selfish motivations). What makes all this worse that the there is no time to build the character back up. When to they start showing us al lthe traits Dean had before Dabb took over. Dean's heart, his compassion, his ability to think outisde the box, his never say die attitude. How can people say Dean has had character growth when he only became this angry bitter person after Mary's death This week they seem determined to heap more grief and guilt on Dean. There is basically 1 ep left and that will be some big battle that I'm sure they will give the "lets all be friends" speech to Sam. I ask again when do they build Dean up? There is more to "character growth" then just pointing out flaws. This is why I'm dreading the next ep. Im fully expecting Berens to keep reversing that bus to run over Dean again and somemore After all if he is killing Cas he won't want the audience made at him. He'll want to shift blame and make it Dean's fault. I'm expecting Dean to come up the plan, insist on it, despite objections and it all goes wrong and Cas has to sacrifice himself to bail them out and everyone can be mad at Dean again. Why did the writers think that this character who is beloved by so many would be okay with them trashing the character this way right at the end, so that Dean isn't remembered as the complex, layered 3-D character, but a selfish, bitter and angry person. That isnt' character growth. Its character destruction. No wonder Jensen was so concered about Dean's legacy and said he would change how they got to the final episode. No wonder he mentioned specifically a 6 episode renewal on a streaming service. (Kind of specific and take on a whole new meaning with Jensen's produciton company. This post is strictly about the writers and how they are framing Dean. So please don't say well "its different when its (any other character here) because (insert reason here). Its just proving my point the the writers treat Dean differently than the other character. It makes me sad because Jensen doesn't deserve this and Dean's fans don't either.

I have been through this journey before, so I get to be actually frustrated about it.
IUnder a read more because im not subjecting y’all to this. Also: I should caveat I haven’t watched the episode cause I’m waiting till its on Netflix but I have watched way too many other episodes of Supernatural so I have a right to say these things.
TL;DR: I mean you all knew Cas’ confession was fucking bullshit and that SPN is...hm. But I’d like to actually express my genuine frustration, for a moment? I’m going to say things you already know, but I have too much knowledge of this show and too much stupid meta in my brain about a series I haven’t genuinely enjoyed for at least 5 years which makes this not just blandly bad but disgustingly insulting to me not even as a gay just as like. A writer?
Or, even shorter: Cas’ confession is just a Charlie Bradbury Speedrun
So. As some of you may know if, for some reason, you followed me back in 2013 (and till...okay fine 2015), I used to be, uh. Really into SPN. Really, I was into Destiel. Like, as in, I slogged through seasons 1-3 to get to Cas and am also really vulnerable to the Sunk Cost Fallacy and projecting onto characters. (I was in 8th grade in 2013, okay? Get off my back)
Also, because I monopolised use of the TV, I kind of...also got my parents into it? In a “this is silly but fun” kind of way.
Over time, critiques of the show from viewers, learning what queerbaiting is at all, fatigue with how long it was going, and also fatigue from how characters I enjoyed, like Rufus, or Crowley, or Ellen, or Jo, or Kevin, or Charlie, or Cas a few times, kept getting killed off. As time went on, it didn’t escape my notice that, aside from Cas, all of these characters fit one or more of the following criteria:
They were a woman
They were a person of color
Were Queer or Queer-coded in some way (listen Crowley was bad rep but at least Mark Sheppard actually kissed a man on screen)
I also just...generally got tired of the way the show treats women and sidelines people of color.
The final straw really came with Charlie’s death. It got us all excited, because she hadn’t been back in a bit! And it was interesting to see how reuniting with her dark side from Oz had changed her! (yeah remember the fucking Wizard of Oz storyline? The writers sure don’t!) And maybe she’d get developed! Because at this point, Charlie and the fairly good writing of her character was a major upside for the series! Charlie was cool, fun, gay, and morally complex in a way...none of the female characters had been before her, in large part because by definition, her relationship with the boys would always be platonic.
And then. Offscreen. She is violently murdered. For no damn good reason. Like, literally, her being brought back in this episode after fucking off to europe after having returned from fucking off to Oz seems to have filled two purposes in total.
The codex is solved (but Sam doesn’t know till next episode)
Charlie is dead, which means Dean can be angry, specifically at Sam, and kill more people because he’s the big bad this season.
That’s it. Two things. Twooooo whole reasons to do this episode. Whoopee.
But you didn’t come here for this, you came here for me to rip this reveal to shreds. Don’t worry, I’ll get there. What I want in your minds is that Supernatural already had a really good anddynamic queer character. And then they killed her off to make Dean angry. No, it doesn’t matter that they brought her back in season 13 or whatever. They made that decision.
After the rage this incited, I started realizing general flaws in the writing (I had probably already noticed them but now I was angry enough to complain.) Every conflict is born of Sam and Dean not communicating/taking on burdens and Dean being angry at Cas for reasons that ranged from good to ridiculous, but in a way that always went way too fucking long, (which...yes, does make the “you do it for love” gifs fucking hilarious). It didn’t help that seasons 11 and 12 were next, which meant Demon Dean and GOD’S FUCKING SISTER, plus the decision to resurrect Mary, which, while I do like her later scenes, as a season 12 finale it...well I’ll be honest it kinda sucked. It undercut the majority of the Winchester’s’ arcs and their slow and painful journey out of their father’s toxic vengeance quest and knowing Mary as a person when it’s too late to know her was one of the last semi-compelling grounders of the narrative.
By this point it was a hate-watch for my parents and I.
So then, I’m at college, and I’m not watching anymore cause I don’t have the motivation or access to Hulu to continue, and SPN is bad. I watch the Scooby Doo crossover when it comes out and my friend and I make fun of it, and we also continue making jokes about Dean and Cas and queerbaiting because we’re queer, but I don’t keep up. My Dad does though, so when I return, I watch some with the fam and lads. It’s even more tiring without context.
So flash forward to Quarantine, my sister, the only one with taste, has left, and we have run out of netflix to watch. So we return to the well, and seasons 13-14 are. I’m gonna say it. Bad. Really fucking bad. The cycle of bad communication continues, season 14 has like seven antagonists and the way it’s structured makes it so I literally cannot remember the timeline of a season I watched 3 months ago. Oh also, they have a queer coded cannibal snake monster for...well I guess Jack’s snake bud was cool but like. Huh wow it’s almost like these writers don’t handle queers well.
Our one saving grace is Cas, but he’s barely in any episodes, though I did note that his deal with the empty, being happy completely for one moment killing him, that struck me as “this has potential and I know they’re gonna half-ass it somehow.” Also Jack and Mary, but then oh...plot….The most compelling it gets is literally the finale.
But then, 3 days later, the first half of season 15 comes out on Netflix and it’s...actually kind of acceptable. The new character they give Jack’s actor is fun to watch him play until they make him evil. Exploring just how toxic Chuck can be gave the series direction again. The alternate future was genuinely scarring, and Eileen’s return was genuinely moving. Most of all, though, Cas got the opportunity to tell Dean no, that Dean was being unfair to him, had always been unfair to him, and he was sick of it. I had no illusions, I knew Destiel was never gonna happen, and Cas was gonna die, but giving him that bit of agency, letting Cas grow and be self-sufficient, and be angry with Dean not for existential reasons but interpersonal ones, was such a good sign for me, and Dean grew too! Dean fucking apologized for being horrible and Jensen Ackles had a...yknow what, ill give it to him, he had a good acting moment.
But the thing. About. The “I love you.”
Let’s take it in parts.
What was good: I’m gonna admit it, lads, “Wanting what I can’t have” - AS A LINE - is good, and, structurally, there is something to the Empty Deal that could have been an interesting aspect of Cas’ arc when it comes to self actualization and being on even footing with Dean. The problem is, this is Supernatural, and that arc only comes up when I bring it up because character study, even in bad media, is fun for me.
What was bad:
I mean. Like. All of it? All of it.
Okay. Fine. I’ll be specific.
Cas dies immediately when - possibly because- he is revealed as having feelings for Dean. They kill him as they queer him, that’s a Bury Your Gays Speedrun right there.
Like the least they could have done is have him mention it to someone in another scene or something to establish some romantic feelings on the part of canon a full episode beforehand. That would have been the literal bare minimum.
When Cas starts praising Dean, for some reason both the writing and Misha’s acting take a bit of a downswing (from...where it already was). Cas, whose most powerful moment this season was acknowledging that Dean’s anger at him is cruel and unfair, flatly praises him for doing everything out of love and it reads with a misunderstanding of both Dean as a character and Cas’ understanding of Dean. Dean is angry! VERY ANGRY! And it’s a problem he needs to work on and rarely does.
Talking out of my ass, a better speech would have been about how Dean is angry because of his love for Sam, family, and the people around him, how, for better or for worse, he can’t help but be angry on behalf of others, and that his journey of moving that tendency towards the better is what made Cas care so much. Guys this alteration to the metaphor took 2 minutes to write tops I am an Art History student and these are TV WRITERS WITH YEARS OF EXPERIENCE CAN YOU TELL THEYRE NOT TRYING YET?
A better speech would, of course, have come out of a better series. My point: this part was half-assed. Poorly written. Wow it’s almost like the series is also poorly written.
Also, Misha is the better actor of the three(***OF THE THREE), but his choices in that scene are jarringly out of character which. Makes the bad writing worse. It doesn’t help that they cut to the same fucking shot of Dean 3 times. The chemistry in that scene makes it feel so fucking hackneyed. Because it is.
This combines lead me to the point: (wait there was a point to this?)
As someone who does not have the luxury of watching this capsized ship fall into boiling seas from a distance, it is less insulting to me that they did this so last minute and then sent Cas to the Void than it is how they did it. They had ingredients for something that could have been compelling enough to me as a former fan of the show to think that they had put effort into it, that they had decided months, perhaps even years ago to do this, and had crafted a storyline around it. That this was an intentional decision they cared about. It wasn’t. It was barely even pandering, because it’s almost insultingly blatant.
SPN kinda proved to me that it didn’t care about queers when Charlie was killed off. It proved it to me again when Cas, not only died in confessing his love for Dean but did it in the weakest result of what could have been a surprisingly strong story.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
@superohclair oh god okay please know these are all just incoherent ramblings so like, idk, please feel free to add on or ignore me if im just wildly off base but this is a bad summary of what ive been thinking about and also my first titans/batman meta?? (also, hi!)
okay so for the disclaimer round: I am not an actual cultural studies major, nor do I have an extensive background in looking at the police/military industrial complex in media. also my comics knowledge is pretty shaky and im a big noob(I recently got into titans, and before that was pretty ignorant of the dceu besides batman) so I’ll kind of focus in on the show and stuff im more familiar with and apologize in advance?. basically im just a semi-educated idiot with Opinions, anyone with more knowledge/expertise please jump in! this is literally just the bullshit I spat out incoherently off the top of my head. did i mention im a comics noob? because im a comics noob.
so on a general level, I think we can all agree that batman as a cultural force is somewhat on the conservative side, if not simply due to its age and commercial positioning in American culture. there are a lot of challenges and nuances to that and it’s definitely expanding and changing as DC tries to position itself in the way that will...make the most money, but all you have to do is take a gander through the different iterations of the stories in the comics and it’ll smack you in the fucking face. like compare the first iteration of Jason keeping kids out of drugs to the titans version and you’ve got to at least chuckle. at the end of the day, this is a story about a (white male) billionaire who fights crime.
to be fair, I’d argue the romanticization of the police isn’t as aggressive as it could be—they are most often presented as corrupt and incompetent. However, considering the main cop characters depicted like Jim Gordon, the guys in Gotham (it’s been a while since I saw it, sorry) are often the romanticized “good few” (and often or almost always white cis/het men), that’s on pretty shaky ground. I don’t have the background in the comics strong enough to make specific arguments, so I’ll cede the point to someone who does and disagrees, but having recently watched a show that deals excellently with police incompetence, racism, and brutality (7 Seconds on Netflix), I feel at the very least something is deeply missing. like, analysis of race wrt police brutality in any aspect at all whatsoever.
I think it can be compellingly read that batman does heavily play into the military/police industrial complex due to its takes on violence—just play the Arkham games for more than an hour and you’ll know what I mean. to be a little less vague, even though batman as a franchise valorizes “psychiatric treatment” and “nonviolence,” the entire game seems pretty aware it characterizes treatment as a madhouse and nonviolence as breaking someone’s back or neck magically without killing them because you’re a “good guy.” while it is definitely subversive that the franchise even considers these elements at all, they don’t always do a fantastic job living up to them.
and then when you consider the fetishization of tools of violence both in canon and in the fandom, it gets worse. same with prisons—if anything it dehumanizes people in prisons even more than like, cop shows in general, which is pretty impressive(ly bad). like there’s just no nuance afforded and arkham is generally glamorized. the fact that one of the inmates is a crocodile assassin, I will admit, does not help. im not really sure how to mitigate that when, again, one of the inmates is a crocodile assassin, but I think my point still stands. fuck you, killer croc. (im just kidding unfuck him or whatever)
not to take this on a Jason Todd tangent but I was thinking about it this afternoon and again when thinking about that cop scene again and in many ways he does serve as a challenge to both batman’s ideology as well as the ideology of the franchise in general. his depiction is always a bit of a sticking point and it’s always fascinating to me to see how any given adaptation handles it. like Jason’s “”street”” origin has become inseparable from his characterization as an angry, brash, violent kid, and that in itself reflects a whole host of cultural stereotypes that I might argue occasionally/often dip into racialized tropes (like just imagine if he wasn’t white, ok). red hood (a play on robin hood and the outlaws, as I just realized...today) is in my exposure/experience mostly depicted as a villain, but he challenges batman’s no-kill philosophy both on an ethical and practical level. every time the joker escapes he kills a whole score more of innocent people, let alone the other rogues—is it truly ethical to let him live or avoid killing him for the cost of one life and let others die?
moreover, batman’s ““blind”” faith in the justice system (prisons, publicly-funded asylum prisons, courts) is conveniently elided—the story usually ends when he drops bad guy of the day off at arkham or ties up the bad guys and lets the police come etc etc. part of this is obviously bc car chases are more cinematic than dry court procedurals, but there is an alternate universe where bruce wayne never becomes batman and instead advocates for the arkham warden to be replaced with someone competent and the system overhauled, or in programs encouraging a more diverse and educated police force, or even into social welfare programs. (I am vaguely aware this is sometimes/often part of canon, but I don’t think it’s fair to say it’s the main focus. and again, I get it’s not nearly as cinematic).
overall, I think the most frustrating thing about the batman franchise or at least what I’ve seen or read of it is that while it does attempt to deal with corruption and injustice at all levels of the criminal justice system/government, it does so either by treating it as “just how life is” or having Dick or Jim Gordon or whoever the fuckjust wipe it out by “eliminating the dirty cops,” completely ignoring the non-fantasy ways these problems are dealt with in real life. it just isn’t realistic. instead of putting restrictions on police violence or educating cops on how to use their weapons or putting work into eradicating the culture of racism and prejudice or god basically anything it’s just all cinematized into the “good few” triumphing over the bad...somehow. its always unsatisfying and ultimately feels like lip service to me, personally.
this also dovetails with the very frustrating way mental health/”insanity” or “madness” is dealt with in canon, very typical of mainstream fiction. like for example:“madness is like gravity, all it takes is a little push.” yikes, if by ‘push’ you mean significant life stressors, genetic load, and environemntal influences,  then sure. challenge any dudebro joker fanboy to explain exactly what combination of DSM disorders the joker has to explain his “””insanity””” and see what happens. (these are, in fact, my plans for this Friday evening. im a hit at parties).
anyway I do really want to wax poetic about that cop scene in 1x06 so im gonna do just that! honestly when I first saw that I immediately sat up like I’d sat on a fucking tack, my cultural studies senses were tingling. the whole “fuck batman” ethos of the show had already been interesting to me, esp in s1, when bruce was basically standing in for the baby boomers and dick being our millennial/GenX hero. I do think dick was explicitly intended to appeal to a millennial audience and embody the millennial ethos. By that logic, the tension between dick and Jason immediately struck me as allegorical (Jason constantly commenting on dick being old, outdated, using slang dick doesn’t understand and generally being full of youthful obnoxious fistbumping energy).
Even if subconsciously on the part of the writers, jason’s over-aggressive energy can be read as a commentary on genZ—seen by mainstream millennial/GenX audiences as taking things too far. Like, the cops in 1x06 could have been Nick Zucco’s hired men or idk pretty much anyone, yet they explicitly chose cops and even had Jason explain why he deliberately went after them for being cops so dick (cop) could judge him for it. his rationale? he was beaten up by cops on the street, so he’s returning the favor. he doesn’t have the focused “righteous” rage of batman or dick/nightwing towards valid targets, he just has rage at the world and specifically the system—framed here as unacceptable or fanatical. as if like, dressing up like a bat and punching people at night is, um, totally normal and uncontroversial.
on a slightly wider scope, the show seems to internally struggle with its own progressive ethos—on the one hand, they hire the wildly talented chellah man, but on the other hand they will likely kill him off soon. or they cast anna diop, drawing wrath from the loudly racist underbelly of fandom, but sideline her. perhaps it’s a genuine struggle, perhaps they simply don’t want to alienate the bigots in the fanbase, but the issue of cops stuck out to me when I was watching as an social issue where they explicitly came down on one side over the other. jason’s characterization is, I admit and appreciate, still nuanced, but I’d argue that’s literally just bc he’s a white guy and a fan favorite. cast an actor of color as Jason and see how fast fandom and the writer’s room turns on him.
anyway i don’t really have the place to speak about what an explicitly nonwhite!cop!dick grayson would look like, but I do think it would be a fascinating and exciting place to start in exploring and correcting the kind of vague and nebulous complaints i raise above. (edit: i should have made more clear, i mean in the show, which hasn’t dealt with dick’s heritage afaik). also, there’s something to be said about the cop vs detective thing but I don’t really have the brain juice or expertise to say it? anyway if you got this far i hope it was at least interesting and again pls jump in id love to hear other people’s takes!!
tldr i took two (2) cultural studies classes and have Opinions

Can you do Marinette for next character ask/ml sugar pls?
Tumblr media
Why I like them: Despite being immature in many ways— I guess by that, I mean her obsessive behavior, but really guys… she *just* turned 14. You know who else is 14? 1D fanfic writers (but more on that later)— in other ways, she’s more mature than adults. First, she’s self-aware, and she’s willing to take responsibility/humble herself when the time comes. Even though a lot of this is because Tikki guides her, it means a lot that she actually listens. I know so many adults that would rather be petty.
And when I say self-aware I mean a lot of things. For one, she understands when she’s doing something… mm… not so great. Many of these things are for comic relief/exaggeration/situational comedy/slapstick (which is pretty much the extent small children get from it), but it’s still evident that she feels guilty or hesitant.
Tumblr media
does that look like the face of someone who’s comfortable with her own actions?
Kids who watch heroes look for (and need) confidence and justice. Neither of which are happening in this scene or in some others, and from the kids that I know… they’re totally aware of it. Some might blatantly shout at Marinette as they watch her do something wrong, others might not say anything but… trust me they aren’t taking notes.
The thing is, I’m glad she’s a main female character… who screws up…. a loT. The hero isn’t supposed to be perfect, and I mean that in a general way. Flat villains are perfect in their own realm, so I don’t think imperfect characters are only better for writing, they’re better people or can become better people. A perfect individual is a comfortable and consistent one, a person needs ups and downs to improve.
Tumblr media
It’s a bit like kim possible, except Marinette commits more errors because she’s younger and less adventurous… so in a way she’s a bit naive to the world (Kim Possible may as well be an ambassador, so she’s cultured and still makes really cringey mistakes eyes the wheelchair episode). We grew up watching her make these mistakes so we could see them get fixed, if they never happened we wouldn’t know for better or for worse. What’s more, it’s most important coming from the main character. So… I’m proud of her.
Another thing is that she watches her own behavior in the future. She’s learning to trust that Adrien won’t fall for Lila’s gags, she’s learning to talk to him and move away from being a fan (bluntly pointed out in Troublemaker, she actually sees herself as more of a fan than as a friend. Yes, she was lying to cover herself, but she had pictures of all of her friends up… she didn’t use friendship as an excuse? And why did the excuse come to her so naturally? It might be obvious, but she gets flustered and doesn’t come up with good lies… honestly ‘because im a fan’ is pretty fair), and she’s learning how to treat Chat Noir.
I would almost say in Season 1 that Ladybug was pretty flippant to Chat Noir, and I know it was cute at times but people usually behave this way with someone they feel close to already… so why didn’t she ever take the time to take him seriously? Ever since Glaciator, Ladybug has learned how sensitive he is. She didn’t judge him so quickly as to assume that he felt entitled to her, or that he was throwing a simple/unimportant tantrum that could be shrugged off. She took the time to read into the situation and see what exactly was going through his head. Emotions are never a joke, especially in a city where someone like Hawkmoth is a concern. She was cool and collected like a therapist, especially because she sympathized where his feelings were coming from (not too long before she had gotten upset with some ice cream man that was just doing his everyday thing and ditched her friends because she felt hopeless and betrayed by Adrien). Granted she never said anything against him, but she didn’t get forced into a situation where she had to confront him either.
She also knew that reacting harshly would only make things worse, and then neither of them would get off from their high-horse. Compassion is what gets a person to reflect and feel respected. She looked him sincerely in the eyes and apologized, and she expected the same from him. She set the stage, and he responded. They ended up fine, and he even reacted well to the infamous ‘friendzone’, because well… he treasures friends too, and he didn’t know Ladybug considered him to be one. Ladybug was surprised, but now that she knew he had felt abandoned not only that night but since the beginning, she took note that he has trouble reading when a person cares about him deeply (and we all know he does, his love receptors are broken both in his household and as seen in the most recent ep).
Tumblr media
She is much softer with him now but very explicit. She doesn’t beat around the bush, she tells him exactly what he needs to hear.
Tumblr media
“Chat Noir! You know you’re irreplaceable.”
Tumblr media
Look at that face, he knows now that you said it.
It’s actually quite motherly… I mean this is a perfect response. She adjusts to the needs of her friends accordingly rather than treating them equally, because friends don’t always need the same thing. Equity over equality. She’s an excellent example and so much more than the “Huff… I’m a strong independent woman and I don’t care about men and if anyone ever sasses me I’ll choke them. Also I don’t paint my nails, that’s for babies” You can be strong and independent without sacrificing any of these things. It’s not about making enemies, it’s about standing up for yourself— and those you care about.
I could look for so many examples of how she looks out for her friends and makes sure to mind their feelings and experiences before getting all defensive, but that would be… the entire show.
She’s imperfectly perfect and perfectly imperfect.
Favorite episode (scene if movie): Zombisou... and maybe Chameleon and Oniichan. She was angry about so many different things and had so much pressure on herself— including the fact that in each of these she had to protect/comfort/defend someone anyone else in their right mind would rather spit on. But Marinette is noble, she knows how to keep herself together when she needs to. When it comes down to it, the people she’s so angry with are human too. They have hearts with burdens of their own that she doesn’t even know about, if something were to happen to them she would care. She has the responsibility to keep them safe, but also she wants to. There’s a difference between a pain in the ass and a monster, and besides she isn’t the judge of the universe, it’s not her place to decide what someone gets and doesn’t get. Maybe they aren’t getting everything they deserve, but if every human being got what they deserved we’d all be struck dead by lightning.
Tumblr media
And she certainly doesn’t wish death upon them. And as we’ve all noted, whether it’s seen publically or not... what goes around comes around.
Favorite season/movie: Season 2 wins again... for now, it aint over yet
Favorite line: Uhh... dang it this again... how about the one above? “You know you’re irreplaceable?” and every other uwu line she has. She is so soft hhuhhggn
Favorite outfit: The cute lil maid outfit from Animaestro
OTP: Well it’s the same as what I put for Adrien, Marichat. For noncanon... mmm.. I think Kagaminette but Ninette is p damn close
Brotp: I mean??? ALyanette duh. But you know since right now Ladynoir is technically platonic.... they’re pretty lit as bros too (marichat is too but so far fanon is the only place they’ve truly become bro bros)
Headcanon: She wouldn’t have all of those pictures of Adrien if she felt even remotely close to him. I think those fics where she has photos up of Chat Noir should be canon, just like how she has ones of her friends, but she has soo many of Adrien which sets him apart from friendship like I said before. She’s insecure and taking advantage of the fact that he’s famous af, none of us can truly relate to having access to so many amazing photos of our crushes... and to sort of continue with the next question..
Unpopular opinion: These days a phone’s photobook may as well be a private wall to hang pictures on so really... Marinette is an exaggeration of exactly what people do— mostly young girls, which she happens to be— and hey get off of your crushes Instagram while you’re at it. It’s actually pretty normal, it’s not the best behavior but again, you need to have that cringey low to climb higher. And anyhow it’s all for the joke of it, no one is supposed to take these things seriously. But I’ll let you all know when my younger cousins start hanging up stalker photos of their noncelebrity crushes “because marinette did it so it must be ok”
Honestly, not even the borderline ooc things are that bad. Like... they’re bad... but it’s a good thing to show, as in it’s not too horrendous to use as an example. It works because it’s so unrealistic, but with very real behaviors that kids need to address in themselves by watching Marinette. I would say some of her actions straddle between IC and OOC, not either-or.
(WARNING: Do not read on if you have intensely strong feelings toward L/u/k/a to the point of sensitivity over any mild criticism as a character or as he is written. If you’re pretty chill reading anything then you’re fine, I didn’t say anything cruel I only gave an opinion as mildly as I could. The point of the honest opinion section is not to be salty but to express my point of view without insults)
Her crush on Adrien at this point in time is no more or less unhealthy than her crush with L/u/k/a— which is still unclear because for some reason In Silencer she still looked like she was on the brink of deciding she had a crush. She’s kind to L/u/k/a and he’s kind back, but she isn’t very nice. The difference is that it’s not very nice to ask someone on a date to spy on your main crush, it’s not very nice to indulge in the affection someone gives you as a chew toy while you wait for your crush and try avoiding the guy who is deeply in love with you and you sorta like him too. (He fell for her incredibly quickly and she did too despite feeling insulted by him moments before, unfortunately he’s a fallback she feels almost nothing for and she’s directing her ‘oh-no-feelings-for-someone-who-isnt-adrien’ chat noir attack to l/u/k/a because with him, she knows its easily uprooted). This goes back to the importance of not always being at your best behavior for a child audience to learn from you, but my unpopular opinion is that she and Adrien are not toxic and she and l/u/k/a are not a godsend. He’s also the equivalent of a High school sophomore dating an 8th grader? So... it’s kinda weird that he’s advancing? (I censored his name for the sake of avoiding conflict, I’m stating this for the unpopular opinion and I said it in as straight as I could because I don’t want salt to touch this. I respect L/u/k/a as a character, he’s a good boy. I’m disagreeing and agreeing to disagree by trying not to engage.)
Wish: Please, let her find out Chat Noir’s identity first... I beg you.
An oh-god-please-dont-ever-happen: Except don’t let the reveal happen right after one of them is rejected... that... that would be really bad.
5 words to best describe them: Noble, responsible, creative, strong, kind
My nickname for them: I like Marigold and Shortcake, I’ve used them in fics and I cry
anyway she’s one of the best protags don’t @ me when I have kids they’ll be watching her and adrien and they will be who they’re raised on

MTVS Epic Rewatch #208
Don’t forget to vote on the season 7 polls!!
BTVS 7x21 End of Days
Stray thoughts
1) So this is how Faith is doing as the leader…
Tumblr media
…and this is how Buffy is doing as the outcast Slayer…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I wonder who’s the boss… (maybe we should ask Abed.)
2) I don’t like seeing Faith hurt, but I do get a very sick (I admit it) satisfaction at seeing all these girls hurt and scared because they kicked Buffy out and they screwed everything up in the worst possible fashion. I know that by having Faith lead them into yet another trap the writers were trying to prove the point that what happened at the vineyard could’ve happened to anyone and that it wasn’t Buffy’s fault (Buffy will make this same point herself later on the episode.) Both Buffy and Faith were trying to do what they thought was best, yet it backfired. Shit happens yada yada yada. Yet I just can’t help but feel personally vindicated when I see Faith and the potentials fuck everything up so spectacularly.
On the other hand, not only was Buffy able to pull herself together after the group (and her friends! Her family!) kicked her out and made her feel like the worst piece of shit in the whole world, but she also managed to A) get the scythe and B) make Caleb nervous, which was a first. So yeah. #teamBuffy
3) So why exactly were the Scoobies looking for Buffy? I mean, didn’t they kick her out literally the day before? And now they’re suddenly worried about her or something? The only person who followed Buffy after they all kicked her out was Faith. Faith! Do you see how wrong/ironic that this? Do you see how painful it must’ve been for Buffy not to have NONE OF HER FRIENDS – not Xander, not Willow, not Giles, not even her own sister! – go after her to see if she was okay? To ask her where she was going or what she was going to do? The only person who showed any concern whatsoever about her was probably the only person she would’ve labeled a potential enemy.
Damn you all, I’m still pissed off. I hate this. I hate having to feel this way about the characters I’ve loved for seven seasons in the FINAL EPISODES OF THE SHOW. It just feels so wrong, but I can’t help but HATE THEM. What the hell was this fucking writing choice? I hate it. I hate everything about it.
4) If I have to say something in favor of Kennedy is this, when shit hit the fan, she was the only one who wasn’t screaming like a moron and who was actually trying to fight off the Turok-Han. So yeah. The girl got spunk.
5) But she’s nothing compared to our designated BAMF.
Tumblr media
6) No one is kicking Buffy out now, HUH? HUH???????????????????
7)
Tumblr media
Yes. Yes, you did.
8) And this is exactly why they shouldn’t have kicked her out or “rebelled” against her or whatever the fuck they thought they were doing.
BUFFY You guys, it was a trap. It's not her fault. That could've just as easily happened to me.
9) While I do appreciate the pun and the side glances between Buffy and Willow…
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I still feel it’s very wrong they’re all just talking and Giles is playing around with the scythe as if the last time they’d been together they HADN’T HUMILIATED BUFFY AND KICKED HER OUT OF HER OWN FUCKING HOUSE???? LIKE SERIOUSLY??? In Willow’s own words, you're not gonna jokey-rhyme your way out of this one.
Like, I know the apocalypse takes precedence, but maybe say “sorry for kicking you out” and “thank you for saving us AGAIN”.
10)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
11) Again, I get the same feeling with Xander. Like, did they all suddenly forget they had left Buffy alone and kicked her out of her own house? Xander is all like, “I don’t need you to protect me just because I lost an eye” but literally a day before he was telling her it was HER fault he’d lost it, and using that as a justification not only for removing her from her role as a leader but also TO KICK HER OUT OF HER OWN HOUSE. And now it’s just like nothing ever happened? How is that possible? How is literally no one apologizing to Buffy? And not only is he not apologizing, but Buffy is telling him that he’s her heart and the reason she’s still alive, which okay, it’s all kind of true, but he’s also the guy WHO BLAMED YOU FOR LOSING HIS EYE AND WHO KICKED YOU OUT OF YOUR OWN HOUSE THE DAY BEFORE?!
I didn’t know that End of Days could make me as angry as Empty Places but here I am.
We’re 14 minutes into the episode and still, no one has apologized to Buffy and they’re all pretending like they didn’t turn their backs on her and it’s pissing me off. I hate feeling this way in the episode prior to the series finale. This is not how a fan should be feeling right before the show ends!
12) Not only do I know what a glottal stop is but I’ve also learned how to pronounce it. Or at least I was able to pronounce it a few years ago.
13) And hence the fate of Miss Kitty Fantastico was finally revealed…
DAWN Xander, my crossbow is not out here. I told you, I don't leave crossbows around all willy-nilly. Not since that time with Miss Kitty Fantastico.
If you must hate Dawn, it should only be for this.
14) Did anyone really believe Xander would hurt Dawn?
Tumblr media
15) What was the point of this scene…?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
…I mean, other than to give us Nathan Fillion’s orgasm face?
Tumblr media
16) And this is the difference between Buffy and the rest… just remember how everyone reacted and treated Buffy after the vineyard, and see how she acts here after literally the same happened with Faith in charge…
FAITH What do you want me to say? I blew it.
BUFFY You didn't blow it.
FAITH Tell that to—
BUFFY People die. You lead them into battle, they're gonna die. It doesn't matter how ready you are or how smart you are. War is about death. Needless, stupid death.
She’s understanding and reassuring, she’s not pointing fingers or kicking people out. And that’s why she’s a hero and the rest are a fucking bunch of morons. I’m sorry, I’m still so angry about Empty Places and this episode is not making things any better.
17) But I do love when my two slayers see eye to eye…
FAITH So, here's the laugh riot. My whole life I've been a loner.(…) No ties, no buddies, no relationships that lasted longer than... (…) Me, by myself all the time. I'm looking at you, everything you have, and, I don't know, jealous. Then there I am. Everybody's looking to me, trusting me to lead them, and I've never felt so alone in my entire life.
BUFFY Yeah.
FAITH And that's you every day, isn't it?
BUFFY I love my friends. I'm very grateful for them. But that's the price. Being a slayer.
FAITH There's only supposed to be one. Maybe that's why you and I can never get along. We're not supposed to exist together.
BUFFY Also, you went evil and were killing people.
FAITH Good point. Also a factor.
BUFFY But you're right. I mean, I... I guess everyone's alone. But being a slayer? There's a burden we can't share.
FAITH And no one else can feel it. Thank God we're hot chicks with superpowers.
BUFFY Takes the edge off.
FAITH Comforting.
BUFFY Mm-hmm.
This is something that had been a long time coming. Since day one, Faith had envied Buffy. Just like Buffy saw in Faith her road not taken, Faith saw in Buffy the life she could’ve had but didn’t. She envied it and she wanted it for herself. She literally tried to steal it away several times. So if she couldn’t have it, if it wasn’t meant for her, then she could take Buffy away from it, drive her to the dark side, where she lived. Every attempt was futile, even stealing Buffy’s body and literally taking her life. It only made her feel more undeserving, more inadequate, more unworthy. But every time she’d taken a shot at being the leader, it was by playing tricks, by taking what it wasn’t rightfully hers. This time around, she had somehow earned it. There was no foul play on her part. Others made the decision for her and gave her the role she’d craved for so long. And she finally understood that it wasn’t all it was cracked up to be. Yes, Buffy did have friends and people who looked up to her and cared about her. But when push comes to shove, when tough calls must be made, the Slayer is always alone. The weight of the world is only on her shoulders, and she can’t share the burden. It took four seasons but Faith finally got it. And she could finally let go of all the envy and jealousy.
18) I just love the fact that for the first time Buffy is the one who opens up to Spike. She’s always been the one who pretends there’s nothing between them and who skirts around her feelings and dismisses his. But not this time. And for me, it was enough that she acknowledged that it meant something, even if they – and we – don’t know exactly what that was.
BUFFY You're a dope.
SPIKE I'm a what?
BUFFY You're a dope. And a bonehead. And you're shirty.
SPIKE Have you gone completely carrot-top?
BUFFY Do you see this? This may actually help me fight my war. This might be the key to everything. And the reason I'm holding it is because of you. Because of the strength that you gave me last night. Look, I am tired of defensiveness and weird, mixed signals. You know, I have Faith for that. Let's just get to the truth here, OK? I don't know how you felt about last night, but I will not—
SPIKE Terrified.
BUFFY Of what?
SPIKE Last night was... God, I'm such a jerk. I can't do this.
BUFFY Spike...
SPIKE It was the best night of my life. If you poke fun at me, you bloody well better use that, 'cause I couldn't bear it. It may not mean that much to you, but—
BUFFY I just told you it did.
SPIKE Yeah... I hear you say it, but... I've lived for soddin' ever, Buffy. I've done everything. Done things with you I can't spell, but... I've never... been close... to anyone. Least of all, you. 'Til last night. All I did was... hold you, watch you sleep. And it was the best night of my life. So, yeah... I'm... terrified.
BUFFY You don't have to be.
SPIKE Were you there with me?
BUFFY I was.
SPIKE What does that mean?
BUFFY I don't know. Does it have to mean something?
SPIKE No. Not right now.
19) Update: 29 minutes in and I’m still waiting for someone to apologize to Buffy.
20) Am I the only who thinks this speech is okay but like, the writers were trying too hard to give Anya her “Anya Speech Moment” of the season and it kind of feels a bit, I don’t know, forced?
ANYA Well...I guess I was...kinda new to bein' around humans before. But now I've... seen a lot more, gotten to know people... seen what they're capable of, and... I guess I just realized...how amazingly screwed-up they all are. I mean really, really screwed-up in a monumental fashion. And they have no purpose that unites them, so they just drift around, blundering through life until they die...which they...they know is coming, yet every single one of them is surprised when it happens to them. They're incapable of thinking about what they want beyond the moment. They kill each other, which is clearly insane. And yet, here's the thing. When it's something that really matters, they fight. I mean, they're lame morons for fighting, but they do. They never... never quit. So I guess I will keep fighting, too.
21) #priorities
Tumblr media Tumblr media
22) And in another episode of Plots Totally Pulled Out of the Writer’s Ass… (a.k.a. Joss Whedon Tries to Rectify the Fact that He Wrote a Bunch of Men Violating the Original Slayer by Putting a Demon Inside of Her and Thus Utterly Destroyed the Whole Slayerness Equals Feminism Theme)
Tumblr media
WOMAN We forged it in secrecy and kept it hidden from the Shadow Men, who...
BUFFY Yeah. Met those guys. Didn't really care too much for 'em.
WOMAN Ahh, yes. Then you know. And they became the watchers. And the watchers watched the slayers. But we were watching them.
BUFFY Oh! So you're like... what are you?
WOMAN Guardians. Women who want to help and protect you. We forged this centuries ago, halfway around the world.
Okay, I get it, I get what you were trying to do, but it was so fucking obvious, it was so transparent. Like, I know most of the so-called metaphors in this show were not so subtle (think the fucking monster-penis in Doublemeat Palace, for instance.) But the feminist struggle in the slayer vs the council struggle was always something that I personally enjoyed. And this is how Joss’s brand of “feminism” began to crumble down, in my opinion. This is what a white dude who is a self-proclaimed feminist believes to be a Good feminist storyline, but it’s so clichéd and self-evident it's almost cringe-worthy. Like, you get a bunch of Evil Men quite literally raping a Poor Woman, who is faked Empowered (her powers were lent to her by the Evil Men and the source of her powers is Evil, Demonic in nature because  duh! she is a Woman)  so that they can Manipulate her and Use her for the benefit of the Patriarchy. But oh wait! This is a Feminist Show! So in spite of what the Evil Men who were supposedly the Powerful ones did, there always were These Great and Powerful Women behind it all, the True Guardians of the Slayer, This has been a Matriarchy all along, you see?! PLOT TWIST!
Yawn.
The worst part? I can imagine all the writers patting themselves on the back for writing such a groundbreaking and Feminist storyline and for sticking it to the Men.
23) And btw, just to show you how big a Feminist Show this is, we get this…
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I guess since this is a Feminist Show and Angel is the hero here and Buffy the damsel in distress, that makes Angel a woman, right?
But hey, at least he (or she?) literally let Buffy deliver the lethal blow…
Tumblr media
24) And yes, this totally makes sense!
Tumblr media
because Angel has not claimed to be in love with Cordelia and Buffy has not just had her more honest heart-toheart with Spike. Let’s just disregard whatever arcs have been developed in both shows in order to deliver a Ship Moment for the Bangel fans, right? Who cares about character development, right? Because I’m positive this is what former lovers do after not seeing each other in over a year, being currently emotionally unavailable, and facing the greatest evil of all. Suck face.
25) Update: minute 42 and I’m STILL waiting for someone to apologize to Buffy.
26) Sorry for the bitter rant!
27)  If you’ve got this far, thank you for reading! If you enjoy my recaps and my blog, please consider supporting it on ko-fi. Thanks!

Im not sure I understand all the "drama" around DK and Norm. What happened? Why is everyone hating on her? Are they a couple or not? What did she do that makes people so angry? Where do people take their info on their relationship? I'm so behind on the gossips. Sorry for asking. I hope you'll be able to light my lantern.
Hey Anon! How much time do you have? Pull up a seat and I will tell you the tale of dk (lol). I’m going to try and stick the main points here, if I leave anything our anons will let me know.
First please check out the dk wank tag I created, this will start you at the very beginning of what started all this for me. Which was he trolling the fans on IG. Anyway here some main reasons why fans are upset with her.
1. I have known about DK since she started dating Joshua Jackson about a decade ago, I have never been a fan of hers and have always thought she was just entirely fake and only in it for the fame and attention. She used Joshua’s name to become “somebody” in Hollywood, from which I hear isn’t her biggest fan.
2. She is a serial cheater and known to leech off of one guy and then jump right into bed with another. She has cheated on her ex husband and cheated on Joshua with Norman while making the movie, Sky. Cheating on Joshua right under his nose, even though he helped get the film publicity by cameoing in the movie, which still flopped.
3. She carried on cheating on Joshua with Norman and who knows who else tbh after Joshua gave her another chance. After a year Joshua finally kicked her to the curb when she was caught cheating on him again. For some reason dk is the one who sought out Norman for the role in sky and had apparently wanted to get her hooks in him that early. What is even more sick is that Norman and Joshua had been friends and had known each other for years.
4. From what we known dk and norman have been casually screwing around with each other since then (2015) but Norman has also been screwing around with a lot of other women on the side at the same time. dk has been pushing really hard the past few months to try and force norman into saying they are exclusive, going so far as to set up her paparazzi rag (The Daily Mail) to snap shots of them out on the town or her going to his apartment (showing everyone where he lives btw). She then has her people there type up hyped up articles with headlines like, “Sorry Joshua, but she’s taken!!” Using Norman’s name to throw shit towards Josh all the while pretending she really cares about Norman. Who she was quoted to call, “a very broken,” man in an interview while filming sky. Uh what?? So you love your men broken do ya dk? Twisted.
5. She is an emotional manipulator and many of us worry that she is going to hurt his heart. She has already proven all the cares about is her face in the spotlight and she uses guys to get this attention. Literally, no one thinks she can act, so her life legit has become siccing paparazzi on Norman every second he has been in NYC on hiatus and then leaking them to her rag. All the rag articles mention Norman Reedus, even in ones where it is just her picking up her laundry or some shit, because it gets clicks and she gets paid.
6. dk has a sick and twisted tie with the Daily Mail. Check it out. Not only are most of these articles just plain click bait, but it shows her connection to the rag is a deep one where she is basically paying paparazzi to setup norman and her and norman on the town and then she pays the daily mail writers to write whatever b.s. story she wants us to believe. Not too mention her IG appears to be filled with paid trolls who help her block and delete all negative commentary on her IG and fill it with bullshit, “you’re so beautiful we love you and norman,” comments. Which again Norman has NEVER come out and actually said they are dating so this just again shows her lack of respect and willingness to spin things her way, even in fucking IG comments. lol hilarious. She spends her days trolling fans and stalking norman, she has legit not left him alone this entire hiatus, except when he is at cons. Bitch is scared of fans and should be, we are catching onto all her b.s.
7. Don’t even get me started on the video she set up with her and norman about a month back. He was wasted out of his mind and she was parading him around like a puppy on a leash, while the paps snapped away. Then she set up up so we had to watch her attacking him basically while she gives him a hickey and he stands there awkwardly and tense af, knowing they are being filmed. Then she smacked his ass, as if to claim him, he looked pissed. If you can stomach the video (seriously the grossest thing I have ever seen tbh *shudders*) google “diane kruger daily mail norman reedus makeout” or something like that and you will find it. But be forewarned it is gross.
8. Also this very same day she paid paps in L.A. to follow Joshua around when he was on a date with his new girl. She then leaked those photos because she had been bugging Josh to go public for a while with this new woman and he wouldn’t. So she legit set him up so that he was forced to go public, at least in paparazzi rags. No major media magazine ever picks up any of these things it is tabloid fodder that she gets paid for and spins to her advantage. So that very day she leaks Joshua on his date pap picture is the very same day she set up and leaked that video.
9.She is trying to lock his ass down and show people he is hers, when in reality he has never come out publically about being in a relationship with her or it being anything exclusive or official. Norman also has always loved his privacy and has a hatred for paparazzi and has a well known history of this. So her using paps to force himself to out himself with her is really sick and twisted of her. And her setting him up at his apt, showing where he lives in also very disrespectful.
10. She is an emotional manipulator, she is very good at trying to spin everything so that she is the victim when in fact she is victimizing him. He is also not completely innocent in all of this, but I believe he has a good heart and she is playing with it. She is literally using him for everything she can squeeze out of him.
11. We also found out last week that it was her and her people who set up and propped up the false pregnancy rumors that have been flying around the past few weeks. Even though every event she is at she is caught drinking, just another way to troll fans and gain clicks on her rag. Also again if you respected Norman you wouldn’t be spreading false rumors and purposefully playing into them. Just shows what kind of person she really is, a user.
12. Norman is obviously hating the paparazzi be sicced on him all the time and some theorize this is a way she is keeping him on lock down. Think about it, he can’t fuck around if they are watching his every move. Another way to force exclusivity when it is obvious Norman does not want that. She traps and uses him and then calls it “love.”
[EDIT ANON ADDED ITEM]: Add to your list. DK was only allowed in Spain on the promise she would not call paps. She begged NR to go. She broke it before she left because she alerted the DM paps she was leaving the country for everyone to see. DK has also said shit about one of NR’s closest friends  She has also said bad things about Norman himself last year to get what she wants.
[EDIT ANOTHER ANON ADDED ITEM]:  Do not forget she is a plain classic stalker. She stalked NR fan blogs and saw about his ex-gf ig he commented on. She tracked the gf down and liked posts on her account about NR. She must spend most of her time researching his name. She went to Italy and when she saw he was hanging with his twd friends she flew back the same day because she is so crazy. And she keeps up comments about them marrying in secret on her social media.
—–
Whew! I think I got most of the main points here Anon. Long story short she is bad news and making Norman look awful in the industry’s eyes right now, which he doesn’t need or deserve. We all hope he gets away from this toxic manipulative woman soon. He deserves to be treated so much better!
WE LOVE YOU NORMAN! And we love Joshua! Who didn’t deserve any of this (after ten years with her she does this to him) And we hope that they both get away from her as soon as possible.
Hope that clears things up. Thanks Anon! Send Norman some love and clarity, he is really grappling with big decisions about this situation rn if you ask me…

The Final Problem - Breakdown
so i just watched Sherlock "The Final Problem"
i had listened to all the fans who disliked the episode and i decided im going to do an episode breakdown to make everyone feel a little more at peace with the episode. now i understand there
may be some things that dont make sense in the episode and i understand that what i write here cannot make those things any better than what the writers had already intended. so lets
begin with the epsidode breakdown!
we start off the episode with Euros shooting john with a tranquilizer and a little girl in an airplane. now i understand how and the end the airplane was a metaphor for being mentally unstable
but i felt that it was more of a distraction. but in the end, it made sense (we'll get to that part in a moment))
we see that for some reason the little girl is on the airplane and she is the only one awake. everybody else is asleep. to me this paralles the plane of the dead we saw a the previews episode.
what we know about this plane is tat it was supposed to crash and the passengers were supposed to die so they put dead poeple on the plane so that when it crashed there wouldnt be any
dead people in the terrorist attaack. ((atleas thats what i got from it). we see the air masks hanging from the cabin roof and we see the stewardess on the floor, it looks as if she has been
attacked and and that the plane has been taken over by terrorists. although its highly unlikely that this is the situation, it looks to be if that could be a possibility. yet when they flash to the
cabin we can see the inside of the cockpit which is usually behind a very thick door that keeps people out so there cannot be a hijacking. now if th plane is in darkness heading from possibly
somewhere in the UK or europe we can infer that the lane is heading west over the pacific ocean possibly. what this means is that  Euros is imagining herself going home to the UK (which
would be west) i say the pacific because we're not told where the plane is. we dont find out til the end that its actually a metaphor so sherlock might think she's on another half of the planet. (i
imagine this part being where she may have had a bad trip to sherrinford and since she's been there since she was a little girl, she has no other memory of being on a a plane possibly and she
is imagining the ocean between sherrinford and britain. her more emotional half is still the age of a young girl where nobody can understand her, nobody can talk to her and she see's her
mental state crashing into the ground and she is begging people to answer her.   Next we come to a scene were we see mycroft sitting and watching a movie involving a woman and a police officer and he seems to know the movie word for word. I feel this has little to do
with anything other than context. we see the film start to flicker and show home movies from his childhood but he cant understand what is going on and it starts to scare him. we know that
mycrof is a very reasonable man and can undrerstand many logical things that even sherlock sometimes cant. what we know is that the unknown shacers the holmes boys and euros more
than anything else. skipping through the scene we se a clown, a little girl and a multi use umbrella. mycroft loves his umbrella, it reminds me of when he first met john. the clown seemed a bit
over the top and i can only assume that its because mycroft might be afraid of clowns but that is probably for another time. once sherlock admits that he was at fault in scaring his brother we
see john very forward about how it was his idea to get him to tell the truth only when he was scared shitless. john seems very angry at mycroft but we can obviously deduce the reasoning
behind this as it has always been john who is disliked around mycroft, as if he is intruding in his brothers space, making him more emotionally attatched to things. we know that sherlock has
gone out on a limb for John many times including faking his death and even accepting the possibility that he might die at the hands of a serial killer. at that point in the last episode we know
sherlock doesnt want to die but he trusts john with his life. he trust him sometimes more than he can trust himself and that is what makes john sherlocks heart and his motivation for
everything he does.  mycroft is upset when he finds out the euros has "escaped(?)" from sherrinford and we learn that it was Euros who spent the night with sherlock eating cps and talking about her father
being a killer (we know it was the other girl) but euros either way, performed wonderfully as the daughter. we know mofftiss like to use mirrors and we can see john in her. her limp, her
readiness for death and how she dresses. we see sherlock, who is dying because john is no longer the light in his life, the motivation behind everything he does and for a moment, he takes her
into the night and she becomes his movitation to do what he always does. but we also see him hit the ground, go fuzzy and its almost like she isnt even there. Im not sure what the drug is
called atm, but we know in TLD that a drug was being used to change memories which is also a very imporant piece of information at this point. at the end of the lying detective we see euros
point a gun at johns head and shoot, at the begginning we see part of that scene and we switch to mycroft. sherlock tells john "it was just a tranquilizer" and they move on. it would be a good
guess to say that euros loves tranquilzers and would have used one with a bit of memory potion on sherlock when they're sitting and talking about the case of smith. it would be why when he
turned around he had a problem seeing her as if she was no longer there, information obtained but not understood how. how would sherlock know about the father who wanted to kill without
her...she wanted to see who he was. what he was. and in the process she eliminated herself from his memory just as easily as she could escape sherrinford, if not easier.  back at the flat sherlock and john are in their chairs, mrs.hudson is in the doorway and mycroft ist standing there upset that he is being treated like a client instead of a sibling of sherlock, or
even a friend at that matter. mycroft does have the problem of imposing and we can see how that negativly effects sherlock and john. mrs. hudson also seems upset about what has happened
to her boys while they were away. mycroft and sherlock are also very literal, they dont always see the emotional side of things that say, john would be able to pick up on. i assume john may
have picked up a vibe that eurus was more of his idea than anything because he is equally upset at mycroft even beford they start to talk about their childhood and how their sister became a
monster. irritated, mycroft does not wish to discuss family matters in front of john because like i stated earlier, he doesnt see him as a friend or family member, but an outsider. and intruder.
when he starts to argue this point, sherlock tells him that, that because its a family matter, john stays and we see john give a little smirk like "deal with it" ((i picture irritated inlaw but thats
my johnlock showing))   mycroft begins telling the story about the house they used to live in and how he would look after sherlock. he began talking about redbeard who we've come to know as sherlocks dog. they
show a blonde girl who is euros, a "chubby" kid we automatically assume is mycroft because we see sherlock as the pirate he wanted to become. (quick idea interejection - sherlock is a year older than euros but we see her as a blonde child and then a black haired girl, that is relevent to another part of a theory, but what if she's
adopted? like i know its highly unlikely but think about it, sherlock might not have been so easily able to erase her if she was with him from birth til her departure to sherrinford but what if
that isnt the case, she wasnt always there?) mycroft tells john that she was very smart, and that she was able to kill the dog and refused to tell anybody where she hid the body. after she tried to burn the house down they sent her
away. mycroft says she doesnt understand pain, but we know that she was hurting for her brothers attention, she was falling into darkness in her mind. becaue she was so smart, she didnt
have the basic understandings of the human body, which sounds crazy but let me explain. she saw higher than love or emotion, yet felt them but wasnt able to understand them. see, even
scientists are only able to understand emotions and what they do to us chemicaly, so explaining these feelings to a child who can only understand it from a science POV makes her seem like
she has no emotions or incapable of feeling them. he explains this when she says "which one" when asked if she feels pain. drone flys in with grenade and then comes a wonderful exchange of
dialog that allows for a momentary view of sherlocks grand character development. they begin talking about a quote and then mycroft explains he played a character in a play and sherlock,
liked it. his facial expression does not say 'sarcasm' so we can see that he is prepared to not make it out alive even though he believes he will. the next part ive concluded is a part that doesnt
make sense to others watching the series as to how real it is. i remember there was a character that got thrown out the window and had several injuries and was required to be taken away by
paramedics, but we see john and sherlock jump out the window to escape the blast and then there is darkness around the before we see them again on the boat in the next scene. however, as i
have thought over that scene, as i went into the show today thinking about all the problems the people have pointed out, i have come the conclusion that there was a small time gap between
the explosion and the time we see them on the boat. now, how great that may have been has not yet been explained. but when the guy in charge of sherrinford finds out that a boat is about to
crash into the island he puts the place on high alert, asking about how mycroft is. he's told that he was in an accident and is in critical condition and might not make it and sherlock is reported
as missing. so what exactly is the ammount of time needed to be in critical condition (as in make it believable) and then report sherlock missing while also secretly procuring an aircraft and
flying out in the middle of the ocean with the plan of getting a disguise.
now on the more arugmentative part. Vatican Cameos
why on earth would sherlock ignore that? because as the director of sherrinford had just explained, everybody who comes in contact with Euros is compromised so why would that make
sherlock any different? she stares into him and he is emotionally attatched because he feels like part of him was stolen when he found out she was taken away and he also wanted to know
about redbeard and why she would do such a thing to him. despite what she has done he is still curious, still ever the scientist and see's her as something he wants to know more about. again
we see another mirror, this time a metaphorical mirror. unlike the others we see, now sherlock and euros are starting to come together. she has made the connection she has made herself
very interesting to him and he was willing to let her into his head to find out, much like he was willing to let the serial killer get him because he trusted john. he doenst trust her, not yet but he
is intrigued and cocky as to what she is capable of. sherlock pulls the earpiece out and trows it to the ground. sherlock is involved, way deeper than he's been and out of control. just wher
euros wants him.
we're going to ignore the plane because we talked about it.
moriarty makes an entreance and from euros's mouth she says "oh you've had sex, i have" i think this is a really useless line but then again it sounds very slashfictiony. so i dont know what to
do with information other than mycroft gives her treats and that maybe after her 5 minutes un-supervised with moriarty she was allowed a visit by him, supervised but i wouldnt put it past
her or moriarty to have a relationship since both of them are very dangerous and she knew that moriarty was very intrigued with sherlock, the brother she used to know. whatever they
discussed she was in for the game that was sherlocks fall and subtle rise again after. now she has them in her chamber, shes in charge and she wants to evaulate emotions because she still
doesnt understand them. her mind is still in that plane, her child self is still scared but she is a computer, a machine that doesnt understand the concept of love, fear and emotion and now she
has the one who seems to lack emotion in her chamber, his brother and his BEST friend. (make note of that). she knows johns his best friend and sherlock infered that because when mycroft
tried to kick john out the room, sherlock says because its a family matter john stays, so we know john is more than just a best friend and that makes him family. mycroft may be in a situation
of government where he has people do whatever it is he wants, he is used to having the control over other people. dogs to do his bidding for him and then he's able to recieve those reports.
when euros tells sherlock that one of them has to kill the director or else the wife dies. mycroft cant kill, its not in him. we see that in the beginning when he's faced with the clown. he chose
the gun over going straight with the sword. had he not pulled the sword off, he might have been able to attack the clown in his house, but sherlock knows him better than that. he wouldnt hire
people that would get killed. they wouldnt work for him if they were going to die. so he knew that mycroft wouldnt use the sword. but the gun was unloaded just in case, and that was a life or
death moment, which strangely enough, he was able to do but yet he couldnt kill the director. john is a soldier, he makes that reference through the sherrinford trials. he has the guts to kill
but only when he has to but he doesnt want to kill anybody and know that its a pointless kill. his morals win and the man kills himself and euros kills his wife. from that moment on, john
realizes that in order for things to go as they need to. he needs to put himself back in a situation where morals are the least of his concern and that is war. or as mary said "the soldier that
never came home from war".
"i love you"
many people feel that molly hooper has been deduced to a love interest but i can say that it is only slightly true but incorrect. why? we have all the evidence of course. back in episode one, we
see molly putting lipstick on and asking sherlock if he'd like to have coffee with her. first sign. she's there through the entire series until he hurts her feelings and then he realises what he did.
but molly, oh she's still there doing things for the duo and when mary dies, shes there with john helping with the baby. at that moment she loves him and despises him. her anger towards him
is because of what john may or may not have told molly about how mary died or what sherlock did that got mary killed. mary on the other hand died for her boys. died because she was a
person who needed redemption and even though she had just gotten married, she had to redeem herself somehow from all the horrible things she had done and all the people who got killed
because of her. she was a spy til the end, leading her stalker right to her family and even then when she ran away she was found. she knew that no matter what she did her past would haunt
her and get her family killed and she needed one last thing to do before she injured them more than she may have already hurt them. she loved john and sherlock and she knew that what
they would become (safe and a family) without her. but her death was not planned, she knew she was going to die but nobody knows when. she saw the signs, death coming for her and just
like in sumara, she ran right into death. letting it take her john, who could have tried to save her was in shock. nobody is ever prepared to deal with a death of a loved one, not even a soldier
like john. he is smart, and quick witted but sometimes he doesnt see what is right in front of him, he feels and then thinks until he has to think first and then he just does whatever comes
naturally including shooting cab drivers from a window. what a shot.  molly is not angry at sherlock for what he did to her. she is mad and sherlock was her scapegoat. she see's marys death as the body that sherlock put on the table. the one that he could have
taken the fall for had people not been there to back him up. john would have let that happen only for a bit. john blamed sherlock, beat him for the death of his wife and in the end, came to the
truth through his mind that he was not at peace with mary. he loved her with his entire being  yet he wanted more. the fun of being with another woman...if only texting. it wasnt that he
wanted to cheat, he had every intention of being the man mary wanted him to be. but he slipped, back into what a man in survival mode does. a man whose instinct is to take what he thinks
belongs to him. mary had injured him with her lies. sherlock had lied and he too was mad. so instead of going back to sherlock for his comfort, he goes to a random woman he met on a bus.  all this molly knows so when sherlock starts asking her to say something that he knows to be true, something he puts off all the time because its not what he is interested in, she feels the
pain of humilation that he has brought her all the times in the past. she feels betrayed again even though john is back at his side, she's lonely and she still clings to the idea that sherlock has
done wrong to her and wrong to john. sherlock says "i love you" because he wants to survive. she says it because its true...but when the bomb dont detonate, euros says that its all that he did
to her that destroys her. sherlock destroyed molly not bombs. his ignorance to her emotions and he forced to say things he didnt mean, that she did mean. that was painful for her. euros
doesnt understand emotions but knows how they work. she wants to see what happens when somebody is destroyed by their emotions and who better than sherlock. the one without
attatchments.
the garidebs wasnt useless but it was in the same way. john was able to show off his skills, euros still killed all three. the next round was the elimination round, so the garideb case was a skill
round, see who is useful and who isnt to sherlock. in the elimination round we see mycroft is angry, mean and ready to let john die and john is willing once he realises who he is and who
mycroft is. mycroft is the government and john is the solidier, sherlock is the civilian. euros wants sherlock to kill mycroft and that is what moriarty wanted as well. but what sherlock does
instead is surprise euros because she thinks that after all the other trials, that sherlock and the others are predictable and know the consiquences of not following rules, they wouldnt dare
break any more of her rules. but what sherlock does to surprise her is turn the gun on himself. she can do anything because she needs to have him around. and much like the euros we were
introduced to before as mirror john, she tranquilize all three of them and begins her next step in the plot. for whatever reason, she is out to get sherlock and take him apart, see what his limits
are to save her, to save the girl in the plane. johns in a well. he's going to drown, under deep under . its revealed that redbeard isnt a dog, but a boy that sherlock was very close to. his BEST
friend. she knows she needs sherlock to save her from the hell she is in. but she will do anything to get what she wants and that means killing those closest to sherlock. she killed his best
friend and now he was going to kill the person who he cared for most. his heart. moriarty said he would burn the heart out of sherlock, euros wants to drown it. she also says that moriarty's
revenge was her, so we know who sherlock cares for most in the world. john. for a moment we see sherlock and euros sitting beside each other, hugging and she's crying. sherlock has finally
hit bottom of his heart. john is saved and the only thing left is his emotions. he has found them where he left them, with her before she left for sherrinford. sherlock had learned to care from
john, and she reminded him about that love and he saw it in her in her broken scared state.  despite what she did to him, he continued to see her, when nobody could get her to talk, sherlock spoke in a language she could understand, a music they both shared. time passes, mary has
willed that her video will would be released at certain times. she tells her boys that she knew they would be together forever in their flat, solving crimes. euros speaks more and more and
eventual e crimes and be who they are. a family.

Another Perspective On BLACK LIVES MATTER: Robert De Niro, Tika Sumpter On Raising Biracial Children + Tia Mowry Reflects On Her Black Mother Being Treated Differently
Biracial celebs and celebs with biracial children are speaking out with a unique perspective on the Black Lives Matter movement following the killing of George Floyd. More inside…
If you didn’t know, Robert De Niro is a father to six biracial children. And he recently got real about raising them in America and the impact it has had on him as white father.
All of the 76-year-old actor’s kids are grown except one – who all from three previous relationships. He shares daughter Drena, 48, and son Raphael, 44, with his ex-wife, Diahnne Abbott. He also has sons Julian, 24, and Aaron, 24, with his ex, Toukie Smith, and son Elliot, 22, and daughter Helen, 8, with his ex-wife, Grace Hightower.
As the nation reacts to the killing of George Floyd, hard – but necessary - conversations are being brought up about race and white supremacy.
The Irishman star recently appeared on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” where he talked about what it’s like raising biracial children as a white father.
“My children are all half black and I don’t have … even me, I take certain things for granted,” he said. “When people say that they tell their kids, ‘Keep your hands [up] when you’re stopped by any cops, keep your hands on the steering wheel, don’t make a sudden move, don’t put your hands below, don’t do this,’ you understand that. That’s scary. That has to change.”
De Niro pointed out that all cops aren’t bad, but if someone is hurting another human being “for no reason other than self defense or the defense of other people around shouldn't be doing that job."
The award winning actor touched on how people were willing to protest amid the Coronavirus pandemic.
"We had all the protests and everything going on, rightfully so, people are so angry that they did not care. They said, 'I'm going out anyway,'" he said. "I think a lot of people did wear masks, it seems that way. But that's how angry everybody was."
Peep his appearance below:

De Niro made these comments has protests have swept the nation in response to the killing of George Floyd. People are hitting the streets to demand justice for people who were made victim of police brutality and racial injustice.
As for relationships...
"Mixed-ish" star Tika Sumpter has a message for people in interracial relationships, like herself, amid these trying times. She's engaged to white actor Nicholas James after they met on the set of Tyler Perry's "The Have & The Have Nots" in 2016. They are parents to their almost 4-year-old daughter, Ella.

"Dear Black interracial couples with a significant other who is white (raises hand), we DO NOT need to protect them," Tika tweeted. "I promise, they will be A. OK. They need to continue to fight for us. If they get offended when you talk about racists. You have a bigger problem on your hands."

That's a word.
Tika has been vocal about being a black woman in an interracial relationship. Most recently, she launched a new project to spark candid conversations about race. She co-founded a motherhood platform called Sugaberry with her friend Thai Randolph, who is a media executive.
Tika shared a conversation she had with her 4-year-old daughter about the killing of George Floyd. It went like this:
My talk w/ my 3.5 year old about equality was hopeful. We’re going to a children’s protest. Me: George said “I can’t breath”. Ella: I said that! I went to the hospital. Why didn’t anyone help him? Me:That’s why we’re marching. What do you want your sign to say? Ella: I love you.

#tbt This is a photo of my beautiful mother. Growing up #biracial, mom is black and dad is white, it was very clear to me seeing the #privilege that my dad had as opposed to my #mother. Some examples, during our #sistersister days when traveling for work we would often fly first class. There were several times my mother was asked if she was in the right seat. Another incident that stood out for me was when we were buying our first home as a family. My mother walked in the house model with us asking for a brochure. A person had said the houses were sold out. My dad walked in and it was a different story. My #goal is to see #change. This year has been a tough year. Several tears have been shed. However, a friend told me these tears will not be wasted. The #love and #support around the world has kept me going. A #change is gonna come.

Actress Tia Mowry-Hardrict took to Instagram recently to share what life was like growing up with a black mother and a white father. She said she learned early on about the privilege her father possessed that her mother didn't. Read her moving message above.

Singer-songwriter Halsey is launching a Black Creators Funding Initiative in support of Black artists, Black photographers, Black makeup artists, Black writers, Black poets, and more.  This comes after she revealed she now acknowledges her privilege of being a "white passing" biracial woman who is not susceptible to race-based mistreatment from society or police.
im white passing. it’s not my place to say “we”. it’s my place to help. i am in pain for my family, but nobody is gonna kill me based on my skin color. I’ve always been proud of who I am but it’d be an absolute disservice to say “we” when I’m not susceptible to the same violence. https://t.co/2p6RVJixwl

The 25-year-old "You Should Be Sad" singer announced the initiative on social media, encouraging fans to tag their favorite Black creators on Instagram and Twitter with #BLACKCREATORSFUN. "I am launching this to give funds, resources, and a platform to Black creators," she tweeted. "Looking for Black creators who want to enrich the world with their work."

It’s become very clear to me that some of you need to see what I’ve seen. Please swipe through this. These pictures and videos don’t even scratch the surface. It’s easy from the comfort of your home to watch looting and rioting on television and condone the violent measures being taken by forces. But what you don’t see is innocent peaceful protestors being shot at and tear gassed and physically assaulted relentlessly. You think it’s not happening, it’s only the “thugs” and the “riots”, right? The police are keeping you safe right? You’re wrong. This is happening everywhere. And innocent people exercising their rights to speech and assembly are facing violence and abuse of power. With all of our medical professionals being CONSUMED and EXHAUSTED with Covid, there is little to no medical attention available. I have first hand treated men women and children who have been shot in the chest, the face, the back. Some will lose vision some have lost fingers. I have been covered in innocent blood. My father is a black man. My mother is an EMT. This week I had to put those two associations together in ways that have horrified me. This is NOT a virtue signaling post. But I HAVE to show you what I am witnessing with my own eyes. With Trump’s decision today to enforce the mobilization of armed forces on our own citizens, this has escalated beyond your privilege and comfort to not care. Please care. We are begging you to care. This is war on Americans. This is everyone’s problem. Everyone’s. #BLACKLIVESMATTER

just want to take a minute to say how proud I am of my little brother @sevianfrangipane for finding his voice and being out protesting every single day. keep your family close right now if you’re lucky enough to have them to rely on. if you are NON-BLACK and: married to a black person, the parent of a black child, or the child of a black parent, or any other interfamilial relationship with a black person, then this is a time to let them talk when they feel like talking. listen and listen with love. Don’t assume they aren’t upset because they haven’t expressed issues or traumas in the past. A lot of repressed feelings and memories may be uncovered right now. Receive it with grace empathy and promise to learn or change where need be. With Love. @paytonselzer

L.I.S   B.T.S thoughts under the cut
in summary though: not a fan. The vibe of the game is off, the writing is cringey (and not in the charming way the original is, in the IM AN EDGY ANGSTY TEEN way where LIFE IS SO HARD, I dont like chloe, I dont like rachel, and cant forget the blatant “everyone is crap and takes their own issues out on everyone else” problem thats expanded to ALL characters instead of just Chloe
sighs
CAN WRITERS AND FANDOM FUCKING LEARN THAT JUST BECAUSE SOMETHING BAD HAPPENS TO A CHARACTER, IT DOESNT EXCUSE FUTURE OR PAST ACTIONS WHICH HURT OR ENDANGER OTHERS
AND YEAH SHIT CAN HAPPEN TO CHARACTERS AND YOU FEL BAD FOR THEM, BUT BEING BULLIED OR AFRAID DOESN’T MAKE KILLING OKAY, ESPECIALLY IF ITS OUT OF REVENGE
--------
DID THE WRITERS BUY INTO THE ‘POOR BULLIED NATHAN’ THING IM PISSED NATHAN WAS A VICTIM AND I FEEL BAD FOR HIM BUT HE STILL DID SOME PRETTY FUCKED UP THINGS ON HIS /OWN/ LIKE THREATENING MAX AND CHLOE AND OH YEAH HELPING VICTORIA RUIN KATE AND POSSIBLY GETTING /HER/ KILLED AND IF YOU FAIL TO SAVE KATE HE REALLY DOESNT SEEM AFFECTED BY IT SO YEAH
HE EXPRESSES REGRET FOR RACHEL LATER AND IS GENUINELY WORRIED FOR MAX BY THE END, BUT AT THE TIME THESE EVENTS ARE HAPPENING HE STILL DOES SOME PRETTY AWFUL FUCKED UP THINGS NOT UNDER JEFFERSON
———
why do I feel hetero-hate coming from this game?
Cause look okay I know this is cliche to say but really. Warren was portrayed as some pathetic puppy and the writers give you like 10 chances to hook up with Chloe but theres only 1 right way to play things if you want Max/Warren
Now in BtS HOW many girls hit on Chloe and Rachel JUST in chapter 1 (to the point where its hitting Mary Sue levels. No everyone is attracted to the bad girl aesthetic ok?) In addition to Chloe blowing off her bf of 2 months because she got roped in with Rachel…
And like. Okay. Chloe is gay, POSSIBLY bi? So far we know she was attracted to/dated guys up until the events of BtS and shes kinda figuring out her sexuality. Max has the option of both Chloe and Warren, and assuming outside of game mechanics being able to flirt with Chloe while crushing on Warren means she’s bi and just never considered girls until Chloe came back into her life…
BUT the overall feel is that guys = bad, girls = good. The guys are either sexist, overbearing, or downright scumbags (not mention certain homicidal fucked up ones). And all the girl pairings consist of the sweet/shy girl crushing on the badass punk (Chloe or Rachel)
Not to mention the fact that theP.ricefield shippers overlook and even DEFEND how abusive and manipulative Chloe is to Max IN CANON and their very first defense is “gay ships need more representation stop hating”. Tbh I wouldnt be very happy if the first REALLY good representation of an ace character was of them also being emotionally abusive to their partner
idk. this fandom and now the pattern in the games of man-hating/portraying specifically lesbian relationships as picture perfect to Mary-Sue levels of writing? Honestly, it pisses me off
————
lol yeah
the entire vibe of this game is “straight relationships suck”
because you know
just having a good girl-girl romance wont actually send a positive message ]]
#ooc
#im
#YES OK WE GET IT YOU HATE GUYS AND STRAIGHT PEOPLE
#no really#Warren and William are the only two guys in boh games so far#that ARENT complete assholes#i mean like wow#teenage boys can be awful#but fucking REALLY?
——-
#WOW#and I liked Rachel#until she turned into a bitch and yelled at Chloe#what#youre mad because you saw [spoiler] but instead of just telling Chloe#you attack her and then go all#'yu dont ask a girl out and then not buy her a drink’#glad to see Chloes into the same type as her#girls that verbally abuse you for things wthout telling you what the real problem is#(honestly this says more about the writers views on women than it does on their relationship or the characters…….)
——–
AND WHEN CHLOE CALLS RACHEL OUT FOR SUDDENLY TREATING HER LIKE CRAP
RACHEL LASHES OUT
“I forgot its always about you. sad chloes fucking sad again!”
And you know what? THIS MIRRORS HOW CHLOE TALKS TO MAX WHEN SHE ANGRY
THIS IS LITERALLY A CYCLE OF ABUSE THAT ONLY END BECAUSE PEOPLE DIE
THIS IS NOT AN OKAY RELATIONSHIP, EITHER OF THEM
————-
you wanna know the real romance of theis game series?
Kate/Max and Max/Warren. aka ships that stood by each other and would never hurt each other and value each other for their brains and kindness over how “cool” they are ]]
#ooc
#funny how theyre both Max ships
#really tho
#Kate/Max = the ACTUAL true gay ship
#fuck you writers
——–
“Because I dont want to ruin this the way I ruin everything else in my life”
RIGHT THERE
THERE IS THE POWER DYNAMIC YOU SEE IN ABUSIVE RELATIONSHIPS
RACHEL LASHES OUT AND ATTACKS CHLOE WHEN CHLOE WAS TRYING TO HELP
CHLOE CALLS HER ON IT AND GETS ANGRY
RACHEL WALKS OFF
AND THEN NEXT THING CHLOE SAYS TO GET HER TO STOP IS ESSENTIALLY SAYING THE FIGHT IS HER FAULT
AND RACHEL’S ANSWER? “What is ‘this’ exactly?!”
not adressing the real issue, instead bringing it back to the DAY-OLD RELATIONSHIP between the two making it seem like Chloe’s playing games
like jfc I could understand if theyve been hanging for a WHILE and Rachel thinks Chloe might leave her or keep waiting on her to make the ove
YOUVE KNOWN EACH OTHER FOR 24 HURS AND YOU WANT TO MAKE IT ABOUT CHLOE NOT MAKING A MOVE ON YOU?
SHE MANIPULATES THE CONVERSATION TO BE ABOUT HER WHILE YELLING THAT THATS WHAT CHLOE DID
FUCK YOU RACHE
————-
#ok#chloe finding the car#was hard to watch#her reaction there is understandable#ooc
——-
#this writing#its gone from cringey to#just bad writing#characters knowing things they shouldnt#and contrived convos#lol nope#this is dumb#ooc
——-
Ravens….Rachel’s scream…..
um
did the writers watch TW and rip off Lydia cause
——
Hey Rachel, good job causing an out of control forest fire because youre upset
look your dad cheating sucks but can you not destroy nature cause of it?
