Tickets to Disneyland

More specifically, available tickets to Disneyland. I actually had no idea about the new reservation system they have because I haven’t been to the park since 2012, and my grandparents are visiting us so my family had intended to go to Disneyland for the weekend since they’re from out of the country and have never been. Lo and behold, the website says they’re booked and the whole plan goes down the drain. Well, that’s what we thought until I remembered “hey! Im a master manifestor!” And I affirmed and lived in delusion the entire ride there. I successfully manifested openings for our group of 7 people for passes that lets us take my grandparents to Disneyland to live out their childhood dreams 😌

Winning Lottery Tickets

Like actual tickets I won from the scratcher cards slfkfkdkksls sorry I havent manifested millions of dollars yet. I just bought a couple of lotto scratchers on our way back from California because we don’t have them in the state I live, and I just decided they’d all be winners. Lo and behold, they all had a prize of a free lotto scratcher ticket. Even in the modern day you don’t get lesbian/gay/queer romance in shows or films as frequently as straight romance (naturally because of heteronormativity so they’ll likely prove to be more appealing to the general public), and that absence was much more obvious in the past? Anyway, I think it might just be our way of compensating for the lack of shows that openly show queer relationships through creating our own ships in fanon? So I think it’s a normal thing to think about honestly :)

Im rereading Oathbringer, and I just got to the flashback where Dalinar remembers Adolins birth. I have thoughts about it, but I'm high and cant sumarize to save my life.

One of my favorite things about Sandersons books is that he focuses on telling a story more than realism, but puts obvious effort into making sure everything he does makes sense. Another way to put it is that he has a strong emphasis on complex worldbuilding, but prioritizes thing like emotional impact and epicness over strict realism. ("Honor is dead, but I'll see what I can do." Do real people actually talk like that? Really?) The biggest example that I have seen other people discuss is Sanderson prudishness around sex. Yes in a more 'realistic' story sex would probably feature in peoples motivations and actions, but sex is an intensly volatile subject emotionally, so Sanderson doesn't distract the reader with it in the first place.

All that longwinded essay to say, I felt Dalinars reaction to Adolin's birth was probably not strictly realistic, but I appreciate it anyway. Dalinar was in fullblown withdrawals from the Thrill, and though he may have had affection for Evi, he also found her confusing and restrictive. Dalinar never had any prior interest in children, and he was chafing at his enforced safety and inability to fight. Having Dalinar react to Adolins birth with nothing but pride and honest joy feels like one of Sandersons styalistic choices, but I breathed a sigh of relief that we wouldnt be opening the emotional can of worms around unwanted children.

So,, SHARKS! ong best creatures of the earth

They're the oldest vertebrates which is really cool bc they're old af,, like dino age

My favs are the cookiecutter sharks along w frilled sharks (handsome young men 😊)

Cookiecutter sharks are named that way bc they cut meat out of their prey like literal cookiecutters... Just nom and a big ass chunk of your flesh is now GONE. They're also bioluminescent:3

Also frilled sharks are the ones who started the myths about sea serpents :D bc they're definitely NOT shark shaped mfs, and have a habit of swimming up to the coast to feed in the middle of the night (deep sea migration is a whole ass really interesting other subject). And they have like 300 hundred teeth, in weird ass rows so that's fun too

Both of those guys live in the twilight(/midnight but I know it as twilight) ZONE, the part of the sea where plants cannot photosynthesize anymore but sunlight still reaches down (another subject is how species' pigmentation changes depending on how deep their natural habitat is) so they take pressure real well and hard af to find and/or fish for studying, they just kinda wash up on shore usually (but there are attempts to make deep sea fishing easy and like a mass product). The other two sharks that live that deep down with them are GOBLIN and GHOST sharks.

Now moving onto GREENLAND SHARKS!!

These fuckers take 150 YEARS to mature into adults (meaning they can reproduce) and they grow 1 CENTIMETER a year on average, thus they're officially the Grandpa Sharks imo. I think one of those guys was found who was so old he was alive back when the Mayflower was still sailing (so like,, ~4 centuries old)

Um who are there........megamouth sharks!!!

they can open their jaws up to 5 meters and if you look inside you can see their ribbing. They also wait by just sucking in all the water they can then spraying it out their gills while the food goes straight to their stomach :3 really fun guys, read a book once where the guy was feeding one once and he almost lost an arm to it. Very cutesy, very mindful, very demure 😌
