She woke right as the splatfest winner was announced. And she saw 3 being carried by their team, tossed up and down.

hes crowing that victory theme, and the team scramble to pick 3 up again, running them off to the nearest tacticooler soda tub to dunk them into it. Old, veteran tradition.
4 stands there, stunned. Why-

stupid headache who did this to me(i know exactly what i did)
#got a plane at ass o'clock in the morning(like 9am gmt+1 so not really)#and chose to grab food from lidl instead of drinking something after waking up#i had half a bottle of apple+mint juice before going through customs and security#and that. was that#nowhere to fill my bottle up after customs#no money on the plane#straight onto a train once i landed at stansted which. no time to grab a drink and that line doesnt run refreshments#then the underground(again no stopping)#then gwr(another train. its been like 5 hours and i havent had anything to fucking drink)#and like 10 minutes before my stop the refreshments cart comes past me#whatever i get some water but oh my gosh#ive been home for ages now ive drank so much water but this pounding fucking headache refuses to leave me#im actually like. gonna pass out or something#stark fuckin contrast to my airport experience on friday eh#making up for all the water i drank then

Ok, this is mostly bc I realized we've only seen Sally being passive, but how is she able to hypothetically rip apart larger puppets limb from limb? (if the captions with Howdy hold water with other puppets)

they absolutely hold So Much water! it's a combination of a couple things!
a) Nightlight!Sally is really Strong. i'd liken to her to a chimp, as much as i hate them. despite being smaller than people, they're absurdly powerful. when it comes to Her, this comes from a mix of hysterical strength and something Else i've been pondering but don't want to solidify yet, so shh dont worry bout it. it's also much easier to tear fleece & cotton/stuffing than, uh, Biological materials.
b) none of the puppets are really prepared for violence? they've lived in an idyllic world where true, visceral violence likely hasn't even been a Thought in anyone's minds. like, you watch videos of people get attacked by like... raccoons or rats and they visibly Lose because they panic! they aren't prepared! they don't wanna fight! so the much smaller creature wins. They Don't Know How To Fight, Or Fight Back.
b.1) also, Nightlight!Sally is still... Sally. she's still their dear friend. i know that if a close friend attacked me, i'm not sure i'd be able to bring myself to do much other than defend/flee. i wouldn't wanna hurt them even if it meant protecting myself. hence why Wally avoids all confrontation with her & can't protect his friends from her. he can't hurt his neighbor.
b.2) there's also the shock factor. imagine you wake up from a pleasant dream to an absolute nightmare reality. Boom, automatically thrown way off your rhythm. then one of your close buddies looks Fuckin Weird, Are You Okay? and other crazy shit is happening! you're freaking out!! then your Close Friend Who's Off is suddenly slashing at you and BOOM, your arm's gone & your entire brain is scrambled from shock and fear and "?!?!?!?!?!". plus, i doubt the puppets know they're full of stuffing. seeing yourself sliced open and white fluff spilling out has gotta be just. so Unpleasant on principle.
c):
CLAWS BABEY! RIP TEAR AND SHRED! those sharp grippers are perfect for piercing and ripping! puppet fleece is Paper to her!
her fighting method is attack wildly until the threat stops making noise! it's very hard to defend oneself from it! imagine those cartoon bits where a cat attacks someone and its just a Flurry of Unbeatable Violence

tdov was like a week ago already but I just wanna say when I came over to vacation slash help my sworn brother move flat he told me, "ever since you said you wanted to get top surgery I've been thinking about it. it's straight up number two on my bucket list"

i cant believe i have to point this out, but photography is also an art form. the photo realistic ai slop being put out isn't just using stock photos for their datasets.
i know this site is the pinnacle of reposting photos without credit, but the fact people go even further and mock others point out ai generated images by being obtuse and saying shit like "yeah, op should've just commissioned a painting of this photorealistic image" .... i mean. they could. or they could do it themselves. but clearly they're saying this as a gotcha because that's absurd to ask an artist specializing in drawing/painting
idk. i see this shit on my dash so often now and feel insane going in the replies, only to see ppl dogpiling people calling this slop out. and then calling those people stupid..... its actually a little depressing

i dont wanna exaggerate and use terms like "personal responsibility" and "doing the right thing", implying that there's any amount of like, homework that you need to do, any kind of requirement in your day to day life - but i do think that sometimes you gotta do a nice thing for a kid, y'know? don't you remember how nice it was, being a kid, when someone older than you or cooler than you or more talented or capable than you said something or did something that showed that you, like, existed as a non-negative and non-detrimental entity? it's so hard, being a kid. tell them they're doing a good job. encourage them to go be human beings. do nice things for kids. c'mon. it's always worth it

Second day of running off of coffee and spite only
#this week of camp is always the busiest. i have something that goes late into the night every night#im exhausted and want to spend time with friends and other people#especially because this is my last year. but its fine!#theyre good and important things that i love im just tired#tonight im telling the pegend of our camp's beginnings#i used to tell it and then passed it on to someone#but since this is my last year he asked if i want to do it one last time#and i really fucking do. so ive been practicing and im excited but its also bittersweet and kinda difficult#idk. the woman that passed it on to me was super important to me but is now no longer in my life#so im feeling some weird things about that#also tomorrow is Christmas in July (a secret santa we do with staff) and im so fucking excited#x in j is my favorite holiday ever in the world#and i have a good friend of mine. i just hope the person that has me actually cares#its my last year at camp and i just really want a nice x in j as my last#im so tired i resorted to the black coffee in the dining hall. i drank it so fast#i wiuld love to go to sleep but after i tell the legend tonight i have to work on x inj#and i love to procrastinate so i cant work on it until my gf comes back to camp with the materials that i need#(im just gonna vent now. even though thats all ive been doing)#its my last year and im so burnt out but i love it here so its hard#and everyone keeps trying to convince me to come back next year. its hard. its not easy. im tired and want to go home#but i also want to be here and i want to be enjoying myself here and i wish i ciuld come back forever#but also coming back forever sounds like hell#im just tired and wanted to yap idk goodbye

thinking of it maybe i WOULD miss having someone else in my home who i can chat to now and then.. mayhaps i should consider not renting my second room but offering it for people in my circles to stay for short lengths of time if theyre in need or just need to be in the city for a while, and just ask them to help out w chores as payment
#97#im also gonna look into local initiatives for offering temporary housing to homeless people#in which case ofc i wouldnt ask for chores as payment bc i dont want an indentured servant lol itd be free#but itd be a good way to actually do something useful for my local community#the main question here is it kinda has to go thru an associative structure it cant just be like.. reaching out to my local contacts#ik from experience that homeless ppl in my area do not take up offers to stay over on cold nights or come over to have a shower etc#which is v understandable bc while they may kinda know me by sight they have no idea who i am and cant trust my intentions#so not wanting to come into my home w/out a defined structure guaranteeing their safety is v legit#ive passed around my phone number to a few ppl so if they need emergency housing overnight they have someone to call and no one has so far
