*A quick question from an awed procrastinator*

How do you make so many AUs and stories?

(even if something is my hyperfixation and I love doing it, I still go at a snails pace, and I was wondering if you have any "weird tricks" or things that help you finish faster?)

Also also, your AUs are some of my favorites, the angst, the comfort, and the art is just *chef's kiss*

Oh gosh, I mean, part of the answer is procrastination? I'm very lucky that both the job I'm currently at (so far, at least, fingers crossed) and the job I had previously allows me to kind of do my own thing during downtime, so long as I stay on top of all my work responsibilities. Getting to write/draw is like the little reward I get when my work is done u w u And so sometimes a part of my day also involves... avoiding doing work things for a little while by writing or drawing instead. Not Doing Boring Work Tasks is a great motivator for creative projects, lol.

I also just have tend to draw pretty fast, lmao, and I am also hugely motivated by attention u w u I am again very lucky in the sense that a lot of you lovely folks on tumblr decided you liked the stuff I made pretty early on in my TMNT stint, and I am blessed with tags and comments and replies engaging in my work, which is HUGELY motivating. I wanna work on my projects because I wanna get to post them and see what people think!!! I wanna hear what people have to say about the next step in the story!!!

I guess the best advice I have is to not be afraid of shortcuts, especially at the beginning. Let some stuff happen off-screen. Exposition dump every now and again. Copy and paste is your friend. Etc etc etc. Let go of the idea of 'this needs to be perfect' and embrace 'it just needs to be done.' Not every scene or paragraph or panel or even comic I make is going to be a showstopper. But phoning some stuff in makes it easier for me to REALLY lay into that one big dramatic part of the story where I really want it to count. And if I spend forever fussing over the set-up at the beginning, I'm never gonna get to the dramatic scene, anyway! So just do it. Worry about quality control later. Just make it first. Sometimes you don't feel like writing or drawing or doing whatever. Do it anyway.

(Having fandom friends who can hype you up and you can send things to as you're making it is very helpful, too!)

but also ;-; that's So good, especially if its somehow pre-reveal for iron man being Known as anything other than like, a human in an armor so perhaps he meets a doombot somehow (maybe it's stealing replacement parts from SI and when IM realizes that its not... actually taking anything dangerous hes like. oh. oh. because he's smart enough to also know why he isnt just going to get repaired like normal) and it's just, this sense of Recognition that iron man cannot say anything else

i think it would be good if it was like. iron man offers to help fix the bot. oor just, helps him. no expectation of anything else. and the doombot is supicious because of course it is, it was programmed by Paranoid Bastard Supreme, and it's not like iron man can even tell it why he wants to help it so badly, because even if he doesn't think it's actively a danger that doesn't mean giving it the information that he isn't human like everyone assumes wouldn't be... an incredibly bad idea. it's still attached to a supervillan, after all

(also sidenote but i am frothing at the mouth about potential doomquest in this universe it would be SO funny,,,,,, king arthur sends a pretty lady to iron man's room for "companionship" and iron man is just like. ah. ok. i dont know what is expected of me right now. also doomquest is very good to me, specifically, because its one of the only early comics things where almost anyone has more respect for tony than for iron man, which i enjoy, i think it would be SO good for airon man au especially if iron man is like. in danger of just... running out of power. technicallyyyyy i think this should also be a problem in canon, i think doomquest happens during chestplate era, where hes largely not able to go more than about a day without Dramatic Wall Outlet Time and yet hes fine just vibin in camelot (famously deprived of wall outlets) for at least a couple of days, but YEAH SEND AIRON MAN TO CAMELOT i think hed be both freaked out and also. sad that tony couldn't experience it. i think the background radiation of iron man's life is just... sadness that tony cannot experience any of the cool things he does)

but like... him continuing too help this doombot. maybe the doombot also helps him out somehow, as well. maybe subtly interveening in some fights. maybe giving iron man some neat lil tech tips. maybe a;klsdjfasdf the doombot still wants like. Something To Do and not just sit idle all the time or something so iron man hooks 'em up with a fuckin. tech support job. or like, product testing, for SI. something where he can just fix shit thats been broken in the stupidest ways or, try to destroy other things. who knows i dont. but maybe theres an attack at SI and iron man deals with it but hes damaged, and normally he'd like. hide away and do a quick n dirty patch job just so theres not obvious holes into nothing, but. the doombot follows him. and finds him. and its just... looking at eachother. knowing "oh fuck we're the same" and also "oh fuck he knows"

i think they should help fix eachother up and be buddies anyways it'd be good

tiefling tail headcanons wheeee

i dont think that tail behavior easily maps onto like. dog or cat etiquette cuz they both have very specific social structures and body language communication that humans just dont! so i dont think tiefling tails would wag, or swish catstyle, but do their own secret third thing. lets go specifics yayyy

there are two main points of articulation, at the base of the tail where it joins into the pelvis+spine area where the bulk of the muscle is, and then at the very tip. the tail is rarely allowed to touch the ground and the tail tips neutral position is to be angled slightly up to prevent this. contradicting the very popular "base of the tail is an erogenous zone" headcanon, i think the densest nerve cluster is at the tails tip to allow for obstacle avoidance and adjust tail position accordingly. the tail base is just too densely muscular to produce a whole lot of sensation, but the tail tip is used similar to a sight cane, so even light touches can be felt. how pleasurable this could be varies and im sure for a lot of autistic tieflings it can very quickly spiral into sensory overwhelm, but generally its just like any other limb imo

the default standing position for a tail is still with the tip angled up to prevent touching the ground, something like a J shape where the curve is about an inch or two above the ground. when walking, it doesnt stay in place but instead steadily swishes back and forth in a rhythm that matches walking pace, typically in big wide arcs, not swishing particularly hard or fast so being thwapped by one mid stride doesnt really hurt. its like walking with your own personal metronome.

when running or sprinting the tail stops swishing and instead holds position creating a kind of line of action, working as a counterbalance for stability and creating a smooth curve with the spine for aerodynamics. between the tail and the horns, tieflings tend to run leaning forward, which pulls the tail up off the ground and allow it to straighten out of the J curve.

the middle of the tail isnt particularly articulate but CAN bend slightly but doing so is slightly uncomfortable, like purposefully bending a finger back. not painful but it just snaps back into place once you let go, but you CAN try and hold it by focusing on it

tiefling tails dont communicate a LOT of emotion and arent nearly as emotive as cat tails, but they ARE a bit of a cheatcode for Insight Checks if you know what to look for. the base will curve the tail upwards if the tiefling is particularly excited about something (angry, excited, aroused) which makes a kind of angled S curve out of the usual J. something particularly shocking (positive OR negative), might cause a sharp swish to the side, and both these reactions are relatively uncontrollable. similarly an agitated tiefling might have their tail start up their typical walking swish despite standing in place

if a tiefling is fidgety, their tail tip might be particularly twitchy overall, but a tieflings tail tip will be more active in general if a tiefling is interested/fixated on something or otherwise excitable.

generally the more energy an emotion tends to build up, the more likely it is to be expressed/channeled through tail body language, with the tail itself being a big muscular weight difficult to move quickly that articulates big slow noticeable motions at the base, and small fast subtler movements at the tip

my immediate first thought for you is probably an understanding class. light theoretically could work, but it doesnt have the flexibility of i know a specific thing that an understanding class has. maybe its your autism.

life and void are the most appealing to me at the moment, but hope and space will not be taken out of the competition yet.

mind and heart are also being taken out, as representatives of the outer and inner self, respectively. you know how sometimes you just know instinctively what to choose in a choose your own adventure game? classpecting is like that sometimes. you simply do not seem like you would have complete or near complete knowledge of everyone but yourself like a seer/mage of mind/heart would.

ill take a break on the aspect side of things. passive, or active? would you be on the front lines, or command the front lines?

its a tough decision, really. you could choose to be comfortable, or to be a saviour. im going with mage, and thats not completely because you seem like you would fight.

the reason i choose mage is because im ruling out void and space. a mage of void is deeply untrusting, always aware of everyones wrongs. and...a mage of space has knowledge of everything around them, from the exact dimensions of a water bottle their enemy is holding, to how long it would take to run to their enemy and steal the bottle.

mage of life. mage of hope. both similar in the way they are aspects generally seen as docile- even if both life players we see in canon are active players. ill use feferi as an example of life players.

shes an heiress to a planet, before it explodes. she wants to take hold of it and reverse what her ancestor has done, to put an end to the killing and the bloodshed. in canon, you hear of a world where she was empress- one where instead of being killed for being different, you were treated like a child that could never do anything without some big strong high blood taking care of you.

but as a mage, you would understand life, while feferis nature as a witch means she manipulates it. a mage of life could be seen as a wonderful medic, able to patch you up with the worst of supplies.

and a mage of hope. you understand what drives people. you may not know what keeps them physically alive like a mage of life, but you know what keeps them happy and what they want. you can convince your teammates to do what is needed just by having this knowledge. i dont know you quite as well as i do shades though, so im going to let you see this and decide yourself if i did okay- although im leaning towards mage of hope
