6:14PM — “oh, what’s this?” the teasing tone of your boyfriend’s voice can’t help but emit a surprised flinch from your body, nearly dropping the clothes rack in your hand as you turn to meet his gaze. niki’s tall figure resting against the doorframe, muscle on display from his white tank top as he mischievously takes in your deer-like expression.

pouting, you decide to accept defeat and continue pulling one of niki’s favourite black hoodies off the hook. “i thought you were playing something with jake?”

“i was, but ‘wanted to come see what my baby was up to.” he watches as you pull out another one of his green hoodie’s from under your arm, eliciting a betrayed sound from his throat. “ay, i’ve been looking for that. what’s wrong with it now?”

as you try to think of a response that won’t result in weeks.. months.. no, eternal teasing, you swallow and look away. “i just.. i wanted to change it up.”

“you’re shit at lying.” right as he speaks up, niki’s arms have already wrapped around your waist, resting his chin on your head as you swiftly place the green hoodie back into the closet. at the closeness, you fidget around a bit, and the boy definitely notices this by the way he snickers playfully.

“whatever, go away,” you whine, attempting to pull away from his grasp.

unfortunately, your boyfriend has been working out a bit too much and it only results in him pulling you closer to his front. “not until you tell me!” he laughs, shaking you back and forth. “i know you, jagi. you’re hiding something!”

you can’t stop to think before you’re blurting it out. “it lost your scent!” thankfully, niki stops his ministrations to spin you around, confusion in his eyes while trying to process your words’ meaning. god, will he think you’re crazy now?

“the green one didn’t smell like you anymore, so i had to come get a new one.” shyly, you press your forehead against his chest, too shy to meet his eyes that are slowly forming into crescents.

he laughs softly, a fond gaze in his eyes that you unfortunately fail to catch — much too busy burrowing further into the thin material of his tank top. “you’re so cute. seriously, it’s annoying sometimes.”

instead of teasing you in his classic niki way like you’d predicted, he instead grabs the hoodie from your grip, helping you pull it over your head and watching as it completely engulfs your body down to your thighs. delicately, he pushes some hair out of your face before moving back to take you in fully.

of course, you’re occupied being a flustered mess, completely unprepared for such a romantic gesture from your usually playful boyfriend. “stop staring already!” when you smack his arm, which clearly has no effect judging by the way he laughs even harder, niki pulls you over to the door.

“c’mon, i want jake hyung to see your outfit too. and you can help us finish building the lego pirate ship he bought me!”
