One Piece Live Action Casting Predictions

We know more announcements for casting will be coming over the next two days - possibly three days (10 pm JPT | 9 am EST). This isn't a 'who I think will be cast' post but a rather what I think will be announced in those two days:

Thursday: Logue Town + Drum Island

This is Smoker, Tashigi, Dragon*, Dr. Kureha, VA for Chopper, Hiriluk, Wapol, and Dolton

*With Dragon I can see it either or on if they announce his casting but I'm putting him on my predictions to be safe.

Friday: Alabasta

This is Crocodile, Robin, Vivi, Ace, Cobra, Igramm, Pell, Chaka, Koza, Bon Clay, and the upper network of Baroque Works

Friday's prediction is a big ass group, I can easily see it being shorten to Crocodile, Robin, Vivi, Ace, Cobra, and Baroque Works

Many are theorizing that Friday will be the big reveal day so I can see the VA for Chopper being pushed to Friday instead on Thursday, and with that I'd switch him and Ace. It's also why I'm putting Alabasta casting on Friday as it makes sense given saving most excited for for last

Racism is everywhere, but it's not EVERYwhere. This lady saw this edit, remembered all the times she and people she knew were attacked and erased for who they were, and drew a line. Happens a lot. I wrote a piece about the guy who made it to the news for claiming he heard one of the Fraggles utter a racial epithet on Fraggle Rock.

When you're used to hearing people say and do rude things to you, and someone mumbles something in your earshot, your brain fills in the blanks with what it expects to hear, and you "hear" something offensive.

She's had enough people be an ass towards her, that's it's her base assumption that people are being an ass towards her. And that's unacceptable.

Now, I'm prepared to bet that there are meeting happening in a boardroom somewhere about this, and there's a good chance that she will be "instructed" to apologize for this "overreaction", and possible even be asked to meet the original artist and the Igrammer who reposted it and hug and make nice. And THAT will be a far bigger example of erasure than this posted could ever be.

So, youtuber D'Angelo did a video on the kerfuffle over Cynthia Ervio's negative reaction to a fanedit poster. While I did think that he tried to be nuanced about the whole controversy, sadly his comments sections are lacking to say the least. It's pretty telling how people are very quick to condemn Ervio for her over-the-top reaction to the fanmade poster, and the worst ones are the few backhanded comments saying that while they understood that she could have assumed the worst as a result of the racist harassment she received since being casted, she shouldn't have pissed off her supporters. Which just seems like another way to shame Black people, esp dark-skinned Black women, for having flawed trauma responses to racist incidents. It's perfectly understandable why she'd react this way even if the creator of the poster didn't deserve it. She's received racist harassment for being cast as Elphaba even tho she is highly qualified for the role. She had to play second fiddle to her White co-stars even when she's the lead. And I don't know what's going on behind the scenes but I know how Black actors are supposed to smile during publicity tours of their projects, pretend to be buddy-buddy with co-stars even as they had suffered horrible treatment behind the scenes lest they be deemed ungrateful and "uppity". And I say this becos I still remember when pple were quick to condemn Constance Wu for saying she was upset that Fresh off the boat got renewed, and she was being sexually harassed by a producer behind the scenes. We cannot judge becos we don't know the full story, just give Black and Brown pple the benefit of doubt.

I am used to clicking random images always. Anything that excites me, triggers a rush in me, makes me wonder, or makes smile, deserve a place in my phone memory or camera. Every night I light a candle before I go to sleep. I prefer reading a book or even relax with the light from candles illuminating subtly. I don’t like bright light, it hurts my eye. So, I always prefer candles or fairy lights. Candles gives me the childhood nostalgia of studying under the light of a kerosene lamp or candles when there was a power cut and fairy lights remind me of my dad’s obsession with them. He used to light them always may it be my birthday or festivals. He does it till now but has mellowed down. The images I took are contrasting. It reflects perspectives.
