We are calling this costume da Vinci’s Kid. I can’t believe we got it to work, we had so many challenges and dead ends on the wing action and the gear mechanism, but James would not let me give up and just cut eyeholes in a sheet. He believed we could figure it out. I love him very much and am so glad we are still making things together.

pretty sure the reason wingsuits can't land without parachute is cause of insufficient pitch control. if knees bent the other way than with human baseliners and there was a hinge point in the lift surface (needs rigid frame that creates that hinge perpendicular to legs, in this case from the knees) would possibly have sufficient pitch control to remove forward speed while having sufficiently low downward speed right before hitting the ground. would essentially pull a cobra maneuver

not an expert on this btw. correct me if u know more and wanna bother telling me about it

Dimanche 12 mai 2024 à 5h45, deux Autrichiens ont réussi l'exploit de traverser le Tower Bridge de Londres en wingsuit. Les deux parachutistes Marco Fürst et Marco Waltenspiel ont sauté d'un hélicoptère au dessus de la Tamise à environ 1000 mètres de hauteur et ont traversé le pont à 246 km/h. Un vol en wingsuit qui n'a duré que 45 secondes et a demandé 2 ans de préparation et 200 sauts d'entrainement.
