I am absolutely driven to distraction wondering how much Messmer knew about his siblings and if he even knew they *were* his siblings.

So, if he IS the child of Radagon and Marika before they became one person, then I assume he would know at least that he was a half sibling to Rennala's kids. And the Remembrance of the Wild Boar tells us that: Both were as elder brothers to the lion, and both were cursed from birth. In spite of, or perhaps because of this very reason, Gaius was both Messmer's friend and the leader of his men.

Gaius's chest plate also reads: Gaius was the most senior disciple of the same Alabaster Lord who taught Radahn and Gaea gravitational technique

So presumably, Gaius and Radahn were in the Lands Between at the same time, learning from the same teacher. If Gaius and Messmer were friends at this time, we can maybe assume he was there too. Considering what happened to the giants->

I think there's some strong evidence he was rocking around up there around the same time as Godfrey. Does that not look an awful lot like a giant impaling object surrounded by scadu-thorns?

Also, if you check the label on his spear it says that it was: remade by the forging arts of the realm of shadow. Which means that the original forging arts that made it were from somewhere else.

So anyway, if all that together adds up into Messmer being in the Lands Between concurrently with at least some of his siblings, who were presumably aware of him...

Did Rykard do what he did because he admired his older brother? Did he become this thing because he felt that Messmer was some kind of peak expression of crucible power?

Considering the description of Messmer's Orb says: Mesmer despised his own fire. Time and time again he hoped to rid himself of it, but ever did he burn.

That makes it all so much sadder.

so I work a horrendously boring office job that leaves a lot of time for idle brain rotting and I’ve been thinking a lot about how awful Evan and Barty would be at a 9-5 desk job. Like people think evan is gonna work out great bc he’s crazy smart and incredibly organized and detail oriented. He says all the right things in the interview. But then he actually enters the office space and people try to engage him in, like, small talk. I can’t get the image out of my head of him being approached by some 57 yr old coworker with 3 kids asking him about his weekend…she leaves the conversation on the verge of tears. Meanwhile Barty is a personality hire, and he’s definitely smart enough to do the job competently, but he spends all his time trying to win over Evan. Evan complains about the people making small talk and Barty starts sending them disconcertingly detailed death threats. Nobody will report them to HR bc they’re afraid he’ll follow through. Shit this is so long I’m sorry 😭

yes!! YES!!!! i'm glad someone is finally addressing this.. i think my least favorite evan rosier misinterpretation is the assumption that his detail-oriented nature & fastidiousness also make him Level-Headed or Reasonable or Capable Of Existing In Public Without Giving Nightmares To Small Children & Sensitive Adults.

evan rosier is prodigiously gifted at medical malpractice, taxidermy, & his other assorted creepy hobbies. but.... literally anything else?? school? a JOB?? 😬😬 he is just barely scraping by. he has that dreamy, absentminded luna-quality because his mind is on his experiments. he's been pouring coffee into his mug for 45 seconds and it's overflowing all over the break room carpet. he could not care less about anything and his expression permanently shows it.

•they're soo nerd4nerd coded to me.

•theyre BOTH corny at flirting using lines from romance books i just know it.

•william fell first because for one, hes a helpless romantic and finally has someone he can share his love for reading with without being judged.

•he'd purposely try to look as knowledgeable as possible when she's around to get her attention, he doesn't know it's actually working.

•William has tried to tell Betty how much he love her in words. But he knows he's unable to, so he just enjoys the little time they spend together when he can.

•betty genuinely loves William while reading it's just cozy to her.

•they both listens to eachothers sentiments of the books they're reading.

•william has once fallen asleep in Betty's lap and betty would have a conversation with someone else while stroking William's hair as if he was a sleeping cat.

• Averell was surprisingly the first to notice his brother's crush on the assistant and decided to make himself their wingman.

• the others later to catch up, jack before joe(because Joe's too busy trying to escape duhh) but they'd tease the hell out of him for it.

• they both get jealous easily when the other would get touchy or somewhat flirty with another person (Don't look at me the Dalton/LL series implase that)

•before bedtime William would always excuse himself to go to bathroom just to meet up with miss Betty,they'd held on to eachother in a tight embrace enjoying the warmth that it brings, knowing that even though the love is mutual it'll probably bring one of them down in end, they'd kiss and say their goodnights and both will be on their track again.

•jk y'all, when Averell tells ma about this she makes it her mission to set up the two together in a date outside the prison but the plan is still in work shhhh...

+ also a scenario me and my friend made is that; Peabody is trying to get the brothers escape plans from their youngest through miss Betty since she and him have a somewhat friendship going on.

the difference between bobby s7 vs s8 is crazy to me bc you can tell how much lighter he feels. and just the obvious why he's much more relaxed and joking around is such a big difference . to me it's implying maybe therapy or he's done something to deal with the events of s7 in that 3 month time skip and i want details so badly.... how did he go from spiraling and sorta passive suicidal ideation to more relaxed and comfortable and peaceful almost .... sorry i can't shut up about this i need more people talking about it
