“And how do you feel about the DNF today, knowing that it's breaking your record of competing in every lap so far this year? Is there any specific reason as to why you might’ve made that mistake? I did see some new faces in the garage today,” Danica asked.

Oscar frowned. “What are you trying to say?”

“I was just wondering if you count your partner, Y/n, as a bad luck charm now. This is her first Grand Prix, isn’t it?” 

He actually laughed in her face. “Do you seriously believe in shit like that?” he chuckled. “And no, it’s not her first, nor will it be her last.”

Danica stood, embarrassed. 

“Do you have any other questions?” he asked, polite as ever. She didn’t respond. “Thanks for the joke anyway, that was actually quite funny,” Oscar added as he moved onto the next interview, a bright smile on his face despite the poor race result.

Lando Norris: insults the interviewer

“And how do you feel about the DNF today, knowing that it's cementing your loss in the Driver’s Championship? Is there any specific reason as to why you might’ve made that mistake? I did see some new faces in the garage today,” Danica asked.

He stared at her for a moment, trying to compose himself. “If you’re talking about my girlfriend, I’d suggest you just come out and say it, Danica.”

“Alright then, do you see her as a bad luck charm now? Considering this is her first race, if I’m right,” she asked outright. Jenson rolled his eyes beside her as Martin just chuckled. 

“Not at all, she’s here to support me and I’d much rather have her here for a day like today than a win. It’s called a support system Danica, I’m aware of the fact that you’re not a fan of those, but some of us actually benefit from caring about other people. And another thing, all of my bad races, you’ve been there. Maybe you’re the bad luck charm,” his voice cut through the tension in the cold Las Vegas air like a knife, and Jenson and Martin just started laughing as Danica stood there dumbfounded. “Maybe I should ask Sky to not bring you around as much.” 

He handed the microphone back and continued on with his day, then posted this later:

“It’s Y/n’s first race in years, and yet you DNF for the first time in months, do you want to give us some insight to that?” Danica asked. 

Lewis’s eyebrow raised and an annoyed smile made its way onto his face. “What are you saying right now?”

“Well, it’s just strange that her first race in years, 2 to be exact, is the one you don’t finish.”

“Are you trying to insinuate that she’s bad luck or something?” 

“Is that what you believe her to be?” 

“Fuck no,” he scoffed. “She’s my wife, is what she is. I’m grateful that she’s here. I love to share my love of motorsport with my wife, and I don’t feel sorry for the media that she's been preoccupied with being pregnant and busy to be here for the last 2 years. I love having her come and support me, and I’m happy that I didn’t finish the fucking race, I get more time with my family now. I cannot believe you enjoy making shitty headlines like this. Danica, maybe just stick to fucking driving.”

George Russell: flabbergasted that someone would have the audacity 

“Sorry about the result today George, do you feel like external factors made it more difficult for today’s race?” Danica questioned. 

“Y’know, it’s been pretty tough all year with the car but it really felt like we pulled back to the top today, and it was just a shame that Lando went wide and pushed me into the gravel,” he shrugged.

“And you don’t see your girlfriend as a bad luck charm? It is her first race, right?”

He death-stared her for a moment. “Are you fucking kidding me?”

“Well, we just wanted to know how you react to knowing that it’s her first race and it’s also the race you DNFed in.”

“I don’t have a reaction,” he scoffed. “Your headlines are going to be written anyway, it doesn’t matter what I say. I don’t see her as bad luck or whatever rubbish you’re going to paint this as, and I don’t really care what you think about it. Anyway, it’s not like you have the monopoly on perfect races, Danica.”

“Umm…” he trailed off, looking at George confused. George shook his head, silently telling him not to answer. “I don’t know what you mean?” 

“Well there were external factors, obviously, but also your girlfriend was in the paddock for the first time this weekend, correct?”

He nodded. 

“So do you see her as some sort of bad luck charm, or something?”

He pulled a face of disgust for a split second. “No, not at all. She went to every single one of my F2 races so I don’t see how she could have been bad luck here when she was not bad luck there,” he shrugged. 

“So she’s not bad luck?” 

He chuckled awkwardly. “N-no. Like I say, she was at every one of my F2 races. I think she is lucky, if anything.” 

He walked away confused as George reassured him that they were just fishing for headlines and to ‘not give them the time of day’. He was slightly worried that you would think you were a bad luck charm and quickly found you and showed you that you weren’t.

“But in the garage, do you think you would’ve been more focused if your girlfriend hadn’t been there?”

He just stared at her with a slightly shocked smile as she held the microphone to his face. “Did you actually just ask that?”

She didn’t answer, just nodding. 

“Well, why don’t we think back to every other race she’s been at this year. Monaco, Canada, Silverstone, Austria, and Baku, which were all my best races this season, apart from maybe Canada.”

“Yes, but today she was-”

“In the garage, the same as she always is. Wow, you’ll really do anything for a headline.”

He laughed, thinking she was joking. His eyes widened when he realised she wasn’t. “You think I can’t race because my girlfriend is in the back of the garage?”

He chuckled. “No, no it’s not. She’s always there, and anyways, I’m in the car, it’s not like I have all the time in the world to stare at her ass or something,” he smiled. “I know she’s beautiful but I don’t exactly see her when I’m going to the straight at 200 kilometres an hour.”

“Evidently,” Carlos scoffed.

THANK U FOR THIS. This is incredibly real, he is so so so silly.

Scout

Scout took immediate interest in you.

He couldn’t place exactly what it was about you that just made you instantly attractive.

But it was because of his immediate interest that made him such a colossal disaster in front of you.

He just cannot stop, making a fool out of himself. Going to great and insane lengths to try and impress you, literally getting blown up on the battlefield to try and show you a cool jump he can do.

You find is so so endearing and funny, you always laugh at his silly attempts at impressing you.

He mistakes this as genuine malicious intent, thinks you’re making fun of him and feels like the world’s biggest idiot.

“Hey Scout,” you greet one day, feeling a little bold.

Scout straightens in an instant, now was his chance to put the moves on you, make or break time scout.

“Oh! H-hey. Yeah, wassup,” he says before sniffling “you wanna see my baseball cards?” He says abruptly, already mentally berating himself.

You chuckle a little, and he deflates feeling like human garbage. You bump his shoulder with your arm “sure. That sounds fun,” you say with a smile.

He immediately perks up, shows you his nerdy card collection for way too long. Worries the whole time that you think it’s dumb, really cannot tell if you’re making fun of him.

Spy really does not help his anxiety, makes fun of his attempts extremely outwardly, really confused on why you keep coming around…

After watching a few more of your interactions he is appalled to find out that you actually like him back.

Does not let Scout in on this realization.

Him watching you full send the most intense signals to Scout that you’re interested and it’s just soaring over his head causes him physical pain.

“Hey Scout, I was wondering if you wanted to show me your baseball card collection again?” You asked one day, Spy secretly watching from a nearby corner.

“You wanna see it again? I haven’t got anymore,” he says.

You shrug “oh? That’s a shame, I was looking forward to having you all to myself today,” you simper leaning into him.

He’s already told himself that you’re so not interested (plus he’s got a complex from how hard he was rejected from Pauling) so he hardly even flinches “oh well. Next time ‘den I’ll have sumthin’ new to show.”

Spy face palms, mumbling about how dumb he is as he sneaks away.

You find it really endearing though, total heart eyes over this dumbass.

Eventually when you finally stop torturing him and tell him how you feel he’s so flustered and surprised, like: you actually liked how much of an idiot I was? Cannot believe it.

Rubs it in Spies face so hard.

“Look at this hottie I bagged by bein’ a total dumbass. Hah! I win!” He proclaimed loudly.

Anywhoo, I was wondering if there'd ever be a moment where Eddie does an interview about fan conspiracy theories or read thirst tweets and what that would look like (I'm kind of getting hard core dylan o'brien vibes here where he's like "these are tame") maybe he's filming a tiktok in a break and he slowly pans around to Steve where he just looks so uncomfortable because !?? That's his husband?! People want him to step on them!?

Concerned and unaware Steve is all I'm saying

But literally you are insane I love what you've created it's so adorable!!

WHY HAVE I NEVER CONSIDERED THIRST TWEETS???!

Thirst tweets are such an obvious next step for him. Of course, someone would ask him to do it and obviously, he’d agree. I do think that Steve would be less uncomfortable with the concept but maybe a little jealous, a little possessive of his husband. Maybe keep your thoughts and your tweets off his hot ass husband, okay?

Eddie is taken.

The video actually starts with a little behind the scenes when Eddie is being mic’ed up. He’s talking to someone off camera but you can only hear his side of the conversation. He asks who he’s talking to if they know what thirst tweets are and then after they respond says, “They’re tweets about how people are desperate for me. For a drink of me, if you know what I mean… Not piss! Actually. Maybe piss. I’ve got some kinky fans.”

There’s a transition with a clapperboard and then Eddie is starting the video proper like, “Hi, I’m Eddie Munson. I play guitar in the heavy metal band, Corroded Coffin, and I’m on Tiktok. I’m gonna be reading some of your thirst tweets today.”

There are some tweets about wanting Eddie to step on them or blow their back out, or spit in their mouth. Someone tweets that they want Eddie to blow them like JFK’s head on a sunny afternoon drive which, “Admittedly, that one is really funny. These are a lot tamer than I was expecting.”

It’s not actually Eddie that posts the Tiktok that reveals that Steve is there too. It’s someone who works on the set and they’re technically just posting a video about the problem with the camera that halted production and how to fix it.

Eddie and Steve are just on the monitor so you can see them and you can kinda hear them. Eddie is teasing Steve about being jealous over some tweets from people they’ll never meet and Steve is pointing out that Eddie could actually meet them at one of his concerts.

Eddie is sitting on top of the table and Steve had been a few steps away from him until Eddie reached out and yanked him over to him by the waistband of his jeans. He smiles up at Steve and says, “Babygirl, you know you’re the only one for me.”

“Don’t call me that,” Steve said weakly, “In public.”

“Tell me you don’t believe me.”

“…I believe you,” Steve tells him, tilting Eddie’s head back further and leaning down to kiss him. “I believe you always.”

Eddie kisses him back and then asks, “Wanna go find somewhere and make out like teenagers?”

When they get the camera operating again, the first tweet Eddie reads is about someone wanting to be the middle of a Steddie sandwich, “Hot damn.”

 

Side Note: Eddie also does the one interview where you show them what’s in your bag. He has notebooks, pens, dice, his ADHD medication, Steve’s medications since they’re traveling together, a comb, a book, a toothbrush, and a charger. What he doesn’t have is his inhaler which - “Nope, not in my pocket either. Steve?”

Kinktober Day 4: Messing Around with Austin Sommers

word count: 1.9k, a bit of a shorter one today but that’s okay because I really like it despite it being short. Posting a day early again before I head to bed. Enjoy!

Warnings/description: Blood, biting, vampire shit, handjobs, touching, teasing, slight begging

“I’m telling you, Twix are wayyyyy better than peanut butter cups!” Austin argued. The two of you were standing in the Halloween candy section at the store, arguing over what kinds of candy you should buy for the trick or treaters this year. 

Austin loved Halloween, and despite not liking kids that much, he did enjoy handing out candy and watching their faces light up. It just did something to him. 

“Well maybe we should get both.” You said, reaching for the big bag of chocolate candies and setting it in your cart. It was already half full with just about every candy in the store because Austin insisted on giving out the most and the best. Plus, he liked to snack on it as well.

“Is that everything?” You asked, looking back at Austin who was still browsing the shelves, looking over all the candy. He picked up a bag and chuckled. There were about a dozen individual bags of what appeared to be blood. Candy blood of course, but still.

He held it up to you and laughed, shaking his head as he placed it in the cart amongst the various other candies.

“Austin! We aren’t giving out little blood bag candies!” You whisper shouted at him, playfully shoving his shoulder. Why was he always like this? 

“Oh but we are and it’ll be great.” He took the cart and began to wheel it towards the checkout, stopping to look at a few more things as he went. 

You followed after him, shaking your head. People probably through the two of you were crazy with the amount of candy you had in your cart. way over a hundred dollars worth. I guess that’s what happened when you had money and could use it on whatever you wanted. 

You helped Austin place the bags of candy on the counter as the cashier began to scan them and just as you thought. The total was over a hundred dollars.

Damn… all that on candy? 

Sometimes you wondered if Austin was insane, but even he would tell you the answer was yes. He in fact was insane. All artists were. Blah blah blah. 

Austin paid and thanked the woman behind the counter before picking up the bags and tucking them under his arm as he smiled at you. 

“Alright, ready to go my queen?” He grinned, gesturing towards the door as he began to walk towards it, trying not to drop any of the bags of candy as he went. It proved a bit difficult considering just how much of it there was.

Once you got home Austin insisted on opening all the bags of candy at once and sorting through it to keep his favorites. He’d most likely eat half of it before Halloween even came around. If that was the case, he’d just go and buy more. Surely he’d do that anyways. 

He had his little (big) pile of candies and the rest were placed in a big bowl. His leftovers for the children. He got the best candy, they got whatever was left.

He finally made it to the little fake bags of blood and tore the bag open, raising a brow.

“They could have at least tried to make this a little more realistic.” He rolled his eyes as if this was the worst thing to ever happen.

“Look at it! It’s bright red and it’s like water! This is not blood.”

“You’re right. It’s candy.” You countered, causing Austin to glare at you before he tossed the rest of them into the bowl for the trick or treaters.

“Well maybe I want some real blood.” He said, scooting closer to you on his large couch, hands coming up to gently massage your shoulders.

“It’s been so long baby, I need it. I’ve been an awfully good boyyy” he cooed against your ear, pulling your t-shirt down to reveal your neck to him. His eyes darkened as he inhaled deeply, mouth creeping closer to your neck as he licked over it ever so slightly, trying as hard as he could to contain himself.

“Pleaseee? Just a little taste. I’ll make it worth your while. Promise.” He whispered, letting his dull teeth drag over your skin.

“Fine.” You sighed. It was impossible not to give in to him. He was so convincing.

The second you gave him the go ahead, he pulled off his teeth caps, revealing sharp teeth underneath them. He tried his best to be gentle with you whenever you did let him feed, but he had a hard time controlling himself. 

You felt his hot breath fan against your neck and closed your eyes, waiting for the prick of his teeth puncturing your skin.

The first time the two of you did this you expected it to hurt a lot more than it did, but it really wasn’t that bad at all. Either that or you had a high pain tolerance. To you it just felt like a needle mixed with a bee sting? Maybe? It was hard to describe, you just knew it wasn’t that bad.

Finally you felt a prick, before a bit of a deeper pain. He’d bitten a bit harder than usual, but that was probably because it’d been so long since he’d been able to taste you like this.

You took a deep breath as you felt his teeth retract with a bit of resistance before his tongue gently ran over the pearls of blood that began to fall from the bite mark.

It was only slightly uncomfortable as he sucked gently on the skin, coaxing more blood out as he fed on you. His eyes were closed and he looked in a state of pure euphoria, enjoying nothing more than this moment. 

You let him do as pleased for a while before you began to feel a bit light headed. He was taking much more blood than usual.

You tried to coax him off slowly, letting him come back to his senses. He opened his eyes and with a bit of a grumble, pulled off of your neck, licking his lips. His teeth and tongue were stained red from your blood and his pupils were blown wide.

OMG THATS SO EXCITING! I wasn’t sure if you wanted recs for like bars or anything so I went for things to do😂

I actually went to Borough Market for the first time ever today and that was super lovely? There’s so many different food stands and stuff and so many things to try! I wouldn’t say there’s anything really traditionally British there (or maybe there is and I didn’t pay attention) but the food we had was insanely good and it’s got like the proper old school market vibe it was lush!

My favourite favourite place in London is Covent Garden. And not even because there’s much to do there, but it’s just super pretty to walk around? Like it’s got the old school architecture and there’s so many cute coffee shops and bakeries to try out all the yummy food. And there’s usually cute pop up shops and things to enjoy too.

And there’s also the Sky Garden which is absolutely free but you have to book tickets online and then you get to go up in a lift and there’s loads of like plants and flowers at the top and you get the most beautiful views of London and you can go outside and take photos (like no glass etc in the way). There’s also The Garden at 120 which is also free and I’m 99.9% certain you don’t have to book tickets you can just show up and it’s quieter than the Sky garden but I thought the views were a bit shitter, BUT it’s like 360 so there’s no glass at all and it’s just views and again there’s like a little water feature up there and places to sit and watch the sunset (go at sunset it’s stunning I promise!! I can post pics I think I have some)

Camden is also super cool to walk around too, it’s changed a lot and it’s kinda gentrified now but it’s got a canal area where you can sit and eat or drink if the weathers good, and loads of different market stalls that have gifts, souvenirs and foooood!!

Kensington Gardens is better than Hyde Park (idk if that’s popular or unpopular opinion), but I feel like whenever my friends visit London they always wanna go Hyde Park and I’m like why???

Try and go to a play or a show while you’re here if you can? We always have rush tickets or lotteries that make them so cheap and there’s so many amazing shows on in London right now!

I feel like there’s so much more I could recommend but I’m not sure what you specifically wanna do?

I tried to say the less obvious things instead of just like Tower Bridge, Tower of London etc but if there’s anything specific you’re looking to do or have more questions pls ask!!

And also please be careful of pickpockets when you get here!! It’s actually insane how many people get their phones stolen from their bags/pockets here or swiped out of their hands by people on bicycles. I know it happens everywhere but London is so much worse for it lately I dunno what the fuck is going on.

I havent actually been following songbird!wilbur for a significant amount of time, really, the impact was being friends and sometimes friends of friends of people who were running the anonverse and bedrock verse. I feel like I’m overstating my connection, I’m often just following bloggers who are friends with the rp ers, and they are some of the most passionate people they’re totally insane and I love being witness to it

hell, I only started following a couple of months ago, and I didn’t even see whatever meat of conflict that has happened. I’ve just watched it unfold on my dash whatever’s been happening. I don’t think I’ve even sent in an ask.

so that’s to say, I have such a lack of connection to this story, no complex history, no deep understanding, which makes it so much more impressive that the little parts I’ve seen are so emotionally beautiful to me. Even just like the blog header. I’ve been hearing about this story for so long that part of it is the thrill when I do figure out something that’s happened

but more of it? Maybe even most of it? Is because of how much dedication and soul has gone into this story. There is a reason that so many people are passionate, there is a reason that some days I see more fanart of songbird on the dash than like cwjlbur or ccwilbur combined. Because you have made something exquisite with this story and what an honour right? To bear witness to it, even this late, even this far behind.

I think the message, the little scraps of it that my colander brain (system lol) can pick up and I think the message of that. Getting better. Finding community and trust. Finding yourself. I think it’s wonderful.

(What’s embarrassing is that i am for all intents and purposes a fake fan </3 not caught up on any lore I just stare at your header and feel Emotions, so all of this could be entirely 10000% wrong which is why it’s a bit of a like… maybe don’t publish it but perhaps I deserve public punishment for being a clown on anon and sharing emotions)

so yeah uhh you’re amazing I love your rp character and I hope to one day be one of the people posting about them when a particularly cool thing happens. it's been a bit rough writing on songbird-sunrise lately. Nothing I write feels good, and it all feels like such a chore most days. But hearing that you, someone who only recently got involved, loves this silly little character I've made so much absolutely warms my heart. It reminds me of why I do this in the first place

songbird-sunrise is, in a way, my love letter to the dreamsmp and c!wilbur. I know you said your analysis on songbird's themes was probably wrong, but you're actually completely right. We want to show the messy, complicated, hard, and beautiful parts of healing and finding yourself. And the fact that it's conveyed to you without even seeing everything is just. fucking amazing. it's nice to have a direct reminder that I'm actually good at what I love to do for lack of better words

all this to say, thank you. thank you for sending this ask, and thank all of you out there. HELP the way aegislash is just the narrator atp like he is the fourth wall 😭 can you imagine office style interviews just mixed into the drama of pursuit…like we have this intense gym battle going on and then it cuts to otoya being like “yeah i think tullia’s clothes are really fucking ugly and i wish she would change because it’s burning my eyes more than y/n’s houndoom’s inferno” or in the middle of one of reader’s near-death experiences it cuts to karasu explaining smth like “i always have a eulogy ready for y/n because i’m never sure when i’ll have to give it — the only thing i’ll have to change is the cause of death but otherwise it’s good!!”

from what i’ve heard they’re going to bring megas back for the next games (legends z-a) ngl i’m not planning to play but it IS set in kalos which is really cool i hope the game storyline and lore is fun!! and if they do bring megas back that they come up with cool and innovative designs and give them to pokémon that actually deserve or need them (i would kill for a mega flygon i think that would be fire)

i always forget technically otoya has a dragon too 😭 it’s just the prettiest fluffiest dragon imaginable so nothing like garchomp and hydreigon SDKJHFDK ykw would be funny is if hydreigon LOVES otoya’s altaria (they’re in the same egg group so it is possible) and just follows it around everywhere because it’s so obsessed meanwhile altaria wants nothing to do with it…mega altaria is actually really pretty though i think it would be even funnier if he only focuses on getting altaria to mega evolve because he doesn’t know that he has any other pokémon capable of it but then one day aiku offhandedly mentions that ampharos can mega evolve too and he’s like WHAT because this is a whole new world of opportunities (and bullying karasu) that have opened up for him

i think part of why it looks better on barou is because barou is giving that whole depressed dilf vibe that it just kinda works with?? like it fits the aesthetic of the moment whereas on aiku it’s just incongruous because he’s meant to be young and an active soccer player as well as super flirty and outgoing so the stubble isn’t serving the same purpose and just takes away from his character a bit

honestly getting swamped is too real i can’t blame them KFLHSLKJD i’ve not had my full fall disappearance yet (i doubt i will this year ngl) but i def do slow down in the fall so that’s super understandable…trust once december roll as around i will be so productive again most likely LMAOAOA but yeah the character is just fitting the premise of the fic super well!! it’s like hard to describe to other people but when i’m writing there’s some characters that are easy to adapt to any plot or situation (i think i’ve mentioned this before but karasu is one) and others that are a lot more rigid and don’t fit into a lot of different scenarios (such as nagi) and i really like when characters are more versatile because it means i can have more fun with writing them and playing around with what i want them to do for me at any given moment!! sadly this character (you’re right it’s not karasu or barou hehe) is proving himself to be quite amicable to whatever au i place him in which means i SHOULD like him unfortunately for the stans i don’t think it’s enough for me to convert but i do see why so many people write for him now

the otoya tullia beef is my favorite thing ever because unlike most beef i write (karasu vs yukimiya for example) it is very much so two sided SLKDJHFSD like they both mess with each other constantly but ngl i feel like they’re also the first to be on each other’s side too if that makes sense?? one of those “nobody’s allowed to fuck with them but me” relationships where they are each other’s BIGGEST opps but if a random tries to get involved they’re suddenly an iconic duo that won’t take shit from anyone 😭

You’d think I would be more cultured due to living in so many different countries growing up, but all it got me was like. Kids shows that maybe were good but were dubbed in languages I did not speak and if they aired in other countries they might not have the same names, so no one knows what I am talking about.

Anyway the trouble with this is that I sometimes don't know if anything aired globally or if it was a show exclusively shown in that very country and it's so annoying. I’m going around with vague memories of some french dubbed anime except I don’t even know if it was an anime or if I just saw Totally Spies in french, or if it was none of that at all. Maybe it was not even animated in the first place and I’m just gaslighting myself that it was. Maybe it wasn’t even french but actually german.

When I was small I saw a show where a girl got poured water over her by two mean kids, and her immediate response was to bring out her lasso she carried with her, capture one of the kid’s hands and attempt to drag him down from the balcony.

I remember I became so inspired by this I tried to do it myself by asking my childhood rival to stand on the balcony while I tried to catch her hand with a rope.

The 25th Year | Week 6 | Change

Yeah, yeah, I’m technically two days late. Shut up.

This week hasn’t gone the way I thought it would. Don’t worry, nothing bad happened, I just decided to change my plans a bit.

First of all, I’m separating most of the core systems (terrain, world streaming, etc.) from the project and moving them into a Godot plugin. I’m doing this for two main reasons.

1: To make mod development easier.

2: To make development of my side project easier.

Oh yeah–I’ve got a side project now! And it’s also an open-world RPG. Yup–that’s right! TWO! I’m working on TWO open-world RPGs–by myself!

You’re probably wondering if I’m insane, and the answer is probably yes–but hear me out.

It all started when I was playing Daggerfall. On a whim, I decided to manually ride my horse to my destination, rather than use the fast travel system. On the way, I started wondering what this game would be like if it was made today, with modern technology and design sensibilities. Ideas started forming, and by the time I reached the next town, I had mentally written around half of a design document for a new game.

Its name is Endrizen, and I’m hoping to release it much sooner than I could ever hope to for The 25th Year.

Its world will be large–but not nearly as large as Daggerfall’s insane 62,000 square miles. Graphically it’ll be simple. Low poly models, basic animations, and low resolution textures whenever necessary. It’s going to use a lot of the same basic systems (terrain, open world, RPG systems) as The 25th Year, so I can share a lot of code between the two projects.

Like Daggerfall, I’ll use procedural generation to create most of the landscape, as well as the towns and dungeons. Unlike Daggerfall, I’ll be using this proc-gen world as a base to build off of. For example; towns and villages will contain hand-crafted quests and NPCs, as well as proc-gen ones.

You’re probably wondering why I’m doing this. Why start a second game? There are three reasons:

1. I want to.

2. If I work on one project for too long I start to burn out.

3. I don’t have a job.

That last one’s the most important one. Currently, I’m living at home with my mom. I’d obviously like to change this.

Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not expecting Endrizen to be a smash hit or anything–but I’m hoping I’ll be able to make a bit of money off it. Probably not enough to afford an apartment (especially not in this economy), but hopefully I’ll be able to help out with the bills some.

Unlike The 25th Year, I’m comfortable with releasing Endrizen in early access. As soon as I have enough for a 0.1, beta 1–or whatever I end up calling it–I’ll release it. No idea how much it’ll cost. I’m thinking somewhere between $10-$15.

I initially considered making two separate blog posts for each game, but I don’t think there will be enough to warrant that. Besides, I can barely put out one on time, there’s no way I’d be able to handle writing two blogs a week.

Instead, each post will talk about T25Y first, then Endrizen. Since I’ll now be covering two games in one post, the way I title future posts will be changing. Rather than something like “The 25th Year | Week 50 | Big fuckin pig” it’ll be more like “Big fuckin pig | A really cool rat”

I’ve also decided to create a proper schedule for myself, because I’m currently very sporadic with what I’m working on, and when I’m doing it. Some days, I don’t get much done. Others, I do a lot, but only after midnight. This needs to change.

And that’s about it. Most of this week was spent doing design work on Endrizen and separating my code out into that plugin I mentioned at the start of this blog. It’s called Enria, by the way.

I did get some proper work done, though. I can now save and load cells, I have a basic version of origin shifting working, and I’ve started upgrading the terrain shader to support actual textures–rather than just simple colors.

Sorry for this weird, somewhat rambly post. It’s currently 1:46 AM, and a big fucking moth keeps harassing me.
