Name: Nomi

Debut: Madou Monogatari 1-2-3

What the heck am I looking at here? That is a rhetorical question, because I know. But do YOU? If you don't, you should know that the character pictured is nothing but the speck! The circle and arrow are just to draw attention to him, and the text above him essentially translates to "I'm here". He's there! I'm glad. But who is He?

Nomi is a flea! A flea-sized flea. His name means "flea". What a delight! I can imagine him here saying "Oh, you found me!" in a high pitched voice (because he is a flea).

Though we've seen him close-up a few times, Nomi's standard appearance is the classic Speck, which can even be just a single pixel. It is very courteous to come with a label, because he is an enemy that must be fought! I so love that among these classic RPG enemies like wizards and skeleton warriors, there is just a regular flea. You may think a dungeon is no place for a humble flea, but he would do just fine if he could find a wolfman!

In the early days of Puyo Puyo, Nomi was, wonderfully, chosen to be an opponent! Competitive falling block puzzle games really have the most delightful roster choices sometimes! Pictured is the Neo Geo Pocket version of "Puyo Pop", featuring what I believe is the only localized Nomi. HERE. He is indeed HERE! Puyo matches are magic-based, meaning this flea can cast spells. Awesome!

Nomi may have been put aside in the Puyo series at this point, along with much of the creatures from the Madou series, but I will not let that end this post on a sad note. Would you believe that this character, this JOKE character, based on a widely disliked creature, who is essentially invisible in all of his appearances, would get merchandise? A "PLUSH", no less?
