Together Again - Luke Hughes
Tumblr media
Summary: Luke and Tori rekindle their relationship
content: angst, fighting, fluff, lots of fluff, oc x ex!john marino
wc: 3.3k
notes: PART 9! ONE MORE!!! i think the resolution between luke and john is kinda abrupt, but i didn't want to drag it on anymore and i think john would come to his senses. so... also this ends on a conversation that's gonna be the plot of the next part!!
Showing up at Luke's door made her feel like she was in a rom-com. Would've been even better if she was soaked in rain, but... she wasn't. Instead, she was awkwardly standing outside Luke and Jack's apartment, her hand raised to knock when it flew open, revealing a very put-together looking Jack.
"Tori?"
"Jack?"
"Yeah? I live here. What're you doing here? Luke doesn't want to see you."
"Oh, um, he doesn't?"
"No, he--"
"Who're you talking to?" A groggy Luke joined his brother at the door, his sweatpants hanging low on his hips, his hair a mess. "Tori?"
"I was just telling her to go. I--"
"No, no. It's fine, Jack. Come on in," Luke yawned, pushing his older brother out of the way.
"Whatever. I was just leaving anyway," Jack rolled his eyes, shutting the door loudly behind him.
"Where, um, where's he headed?" Tori asked, awkwardly rubbing her arm.
"Huh? Bar, probably. Not sure."
"You're not joining him?"
"Not really in the mood. More focused on the fact that the girl I'm supposed to be on a break from is standing in my apartment."
Tori let out a shaky breath. "I know I probably should've texted first. But... I wanted to tell you in person."
Luke sighed, leaning against the wall, his eyes studying her. "Wanted to tell me what?"
The words came out sharper than he'd intended, and he sighed again, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Sorry, I just... I don't know what you could possibly have to say to me, Tori."
She stepped closer, her voice barely audible. "Can I start with 'I'm sorry?' Because I am sorry, Luke. I thought that taking a step back, would help things. But I just pushed myself back to John. Which... which isn't where I belong. I belong with you. And I-"
"Yeah? Sleeping with your ex-boyfriend really did wonders for your self-discovery, didn't it?" he bit out, his voice dripping with hurt. "Not the fact that he's your ex for a reason?"
"Luke. Let me finish. I know what I did feels unforgivable. But it really did make me realize that John isn't who I want. He's not who I need. Not even close. And honestly, he never was, even when we were together. It's you, Luke. It's been you for a while now."
Luke looked down at her, his jaw clenched, his hands flexing at his sides as he processed her words. Finally, he murmured, "How am I supposed to believe that? You don't know what's it like... thinking that I wasn't good enough. Like I was just a... a place-holder."
"You were never that to me, Luke," she whispered. "I didn't leave because of you. I left because I was afraid of how much I felt for you and how it was going to affect my family. And I know how backwards that sounds. I know. But I didn't know what to do with it. I thought I'd figure it out and come back to us more... solid. More sure."
"Yeah, well, I didn't need you to be 'more sure,'" he replied, his voice thick. "I just needed you."
Tori's hand reached out, her fingers brushing his bicep. "Luke... I know I messed up. And I'm not asking you to just forget it all. But I'm asking you to hear me. Because walking away from us was the biggest mistake I could've made."
"I just... it made me feel..." He trailed off, struggling with his words, his fingers nervously brushing through his hair.
Tori stepped even closer, until there were only inches between them. "I know. I'm sorry. I thought I needed clarity, but I just need you. Luke, you're where I belong and I'm sorry it took me this long to realize."
He swallowed. "And what if I don't know if I can just... let it go, Tori? I refuse to go through that again."
"Again, I'm not asking you to let it go," her hand found his, removing it from his hair before he made himself go bald. "But I'm asking you to let me try. Let me show you that I want to be here. I know I made a royal mess of things, but I'm willing to put in whatever it takes to make things right. If you'll let me."
Luke's gaze softened as he looked down at their intertwined fingeres, and his thumb began to trace gentle circles on her knuckles. "I've missed you, you know that?"
Tori's heart leapt, but she kept herself steady. "I've missed you too. So much, Luke."
His lips quirked into a faint smile as he looked at her, the distance between them closing even more. "Alright. Maybe we can try again. But this time... no second-guessing, okay?"
She nodded, tears pricking her eyes as relief washed over her. "No second-guessing," she echoed. "I'm all in this time. For real."
And as he pulled her into a tight hug, Tori let the tears finally fall. They were finally starting over--together.
~~
"Are you sure you guys are going to be okay?" Tori asked Ally for the tenth time.
"We're gonna be fine, V. Relax. Go have fun with Luke. Ri-Ri and I are gonna have a blast," her best friend laughed, placing her hands on both of Tori's shoulders. "Breathe."
Tori let out a long breath, closing her eyes as she tried to relax. It wasn't the first time she was leaving Riley with a sitter, especially Ally, but the nerves of going on a date with Luke again were getting to her. Her instincts were kicking in and she felt the need to protect herself and her son.
She took one more deep breath, giving Ally a grateful smile. "Okay... okay. I'm fine. Thanks for helping out."
"You deserve this, Tori. You'll come home, and Ri will be fast asleep."
With one final hug to Riley, who was happily playing Paw Patrol in the corner, Tori headed to meet Luke. Why was she so nervous to see the man she loved? Maybe she was worried about ruining everything again.
When she arrived at the quaint pho restaurant, she spotted Luke right away. He looked more put together than when she'd showed up at his apartment, and he broke into a smile the moment he saw her.
"You made it," he stood up to greet her.
"Almost didn't, but Ally wouldn't let me dip on you."
Luke laughed. "Remind me to thank her." His voice softened as he looked down at her. "I'm glad you're here."
They settled into their seats and Luke gestured to the menu. "This place is a hidden gem."
"It's perfect. I haven't had pho in ages. Eating out with a toddler usually only consists of Chick-fil-A and pasta. So this is a treat."
Tori was worried that the conversation would be awkward, that they'd sit there in silence between topics, but it wasn't. It was just like it was before. The conversation stayed light, talking about Riley, hockey, and funny things they'd seen recently. But as the bowls grew emptier, the conversation grew deeper, more reflective.
"Luke, y'know that I don't take any of this for granted, right? Being here, with you... it's everything to me."
Luke reached across the table, his fingers brushing hers. "I'm glad you feel that way, Tori. Because I don't want half of you. I want all of this--all of you."
"You have all of me, Luke," she whispered. "I'm here."
Luke's smile grew, his eyes warm. "Tori, I don't think I can even put into words how much I missed you... and Riley."
"Riley will be thrilled to see you. He never shuts up about you and hockey."
"Future NHL player."
"Hmm... not sure about that one."
"I'll train him. He'll be skating in no time."
Tori shook her head, failing to hide her smile. "Whatever you say, Luke. Whatever you say."
~~
"Ri-Ri, look who's here," Tori grinned, pulling her son's attention away from his Duplo.
"'Uke!" he screeched, running to the door. He wrapped his arms around Luke's leg, hugging as tight as he could.
Luke chuckled, leaning down to ruffle Riley's curls. "What's up, buddy?" he asked, grinning as Riley clung to him like he'd never let go.
"'Uke! Play 'ego!" Riley said, tugging on Luke's hand, leading him eagerly to the pile of brightly coloured blocks on the carpet.
Luke shot Tori a smile over his shoulder, clearly happy to be back. She couldn't help the warm feeling that spread through her as they interacted. It was a different feeling than the one she got watching John and Riley. She wasn't sure how to explain it, but the feelings were too different to compare.
She settled onto the couch, watching as Luke dove into building towers and playing Bob the Builder with Riley. The two of them fell easily into their rhythm, Luke making exaggerated sound effects that had Riley giggling uncontrollably. Tori had never seen him so at ease with anyone except maybe his dad.
"You've got quite the builder here, Tori," Luke smiled, helping Riley to rebuild Scoop, the yellow digger. "Forget hockey. You've got a future architect."
Tori laughed, loving how natural it was having Luke there. She could picture their life together with Riley--a little family unit. He fit seamlessly into their lives. Why had she ever had doubts about him? Why had she let herself get in her head and sabotage something that clearly made Riley and her happy?
"Should we see how high of a tower we can build, Ri?" Luke whispered, earning a very enthusiastic nod.
"'uper tall!" Riley squeaked, handing Luke another brick. He balanced it easily, but then, with a grin, reached for Riley's nose.
"Boop! Oh no, the nose monster got you!" Luke declared, making Riley shriek. "We better protect our noses!"
Riley threw his hands over his face, giggling as Luke chased him around the room. When he finally caught him, he scooped him up, spinning him in the air as Riley erupted into laughter. Tori had never heard him laugh so hard in his life.
"'Gain! 'Gain!"
Luke raised his eyebrows, pretending to consider it. "Hmm... I don't know. I might be too tired. Unless..." He gave Tori a playful glance. "Unless Mama helps us with our super-duper high tower!"
"'Elp us, Mama! 'Elp us!"
Tori laughed, sliding down next to them, joining in the building with mock-seriousness. "Alright, team. Let's make the tallest tower ever."
They spent the next half-hour building, laughing, and toppling their creation over and over. Eventually Riley snuggled up to Luke, yawning with a sleeply smile, clearly ready for a nap.
"Nap time, Ri?" Tori asked, standing up and brushing off her jeans.
"No 'tank 'oo."
"Wasn't really a question, bubba. It's nap time."
"I don' know," he shrugged, snuggling closer to Luke.
Luke chuckled, looking up at Tori. "Someone's found a new nap spot."
Tori shook her head, smiling as she crouched back down beside them. "This is maybe the second ever time he's not wanted a nap," she teased.
Riley grinned sleepily, his eyeslids drooping. "Nap 'Uke," he mumbled, pressing his face into Luke's shoulder.
"Looks like you've become the favourite... again."
"What can I say? I build a mean tower," Luke said, gently adjusting Riley. "He's a special kid."
"He is," she whispered. "Thanks for being here... with us."
He reached out, giving her hand a loving squeeze. "Wouldn't have it any other way."
~~
Tori was on the phone with John, pacing around the living room while Luke and Riley happily played with his toys on the floor. Luke's laugh echoed through the room as Riley squealed, but her attention was on listening to John's request.
"Look, Tori, I know it's last minute, but I need to switch weekends with Riley. My brother can't come another time, but I'll take Ri next week to make up for it. I promise."
Tori bit her lip, looking at Luke who was obliviously helping Riley with his game. Next weekend was the first free weekend that Luke had and they were planning an outing to the aquarium. Riley hadn't been since he was one and Tori wanted to see if he'd still love it as much as he did then.
"John, next weekend's... kind of important," she said, hoping he'd understand without pushing. "We have plans."
"I get it, Tori, but I wanna spend time with my brother, it'd be hard with--"
"Maybe you should've thought of that before we had a child, John. I--"
"I'm asking you to switch one weekend, Tori. It's not that deep."
After a long pause, Tori sighed. "Fine. We'll work it out."
She ended the call and sat down, watching Riley climb into Luke's lap, his face lit up as he explained the latest addition to his Playmobil pirate-ship. Luke looked up, noticing Tori spacing-out.
"What's up?" he asked, setting Riley on the floor next to him, the toddler still babbling away.
"John needs to switch weekends," Tori said, trying to keep her tone neutral. "I... it would mean Riley would go to his next weekend instead of this one."
Luke's face fell, though he quickly masked it. "Ah, okay. I know you were looking forward to next weekend, but shit happens, V," he said with a small smile, though there was disappointment in his eyes. "It's gonna be fine. I mean, I can cancel shit with Z and Jack this w--"
"You're not cancelling on hanging out with your friend for us. We'll reschedule. I... I want you to be there with us. A little family outing, but you didn't sign up to cancel shit with Jack."
"Tori, I know what I signed up for. And I'm here for both of you. Z and Jack will understand."
"Nope. No way. You're not cancelling. John--"
Luke sighed.
"What?" Tori's brow furrowed.
"Just... sometimes it's hard knowing that because John's in Riley's life... he'll always be in yours too."
"I know it's not ideal, but... you're not a second choice. I promise."
"I know, V. I know. I--"
"Mama! 'Uke! Pirate! Arrr!!! 'Uke, 'oo play now?"
"One second, bud. Just let me finish talking to Mama."
"Everything is gonna be fine, Tori. We'll figure this out. Don't let it stress you out. I love you."
"I love you too, Luke."
"'Uke!"
"I'm coming, Ri! Let's see your pirates!"
Tori sighed, running a hand through her greasy hair. She had been looking forward to John's weekend. She was going to take a nice shower, clean the house, binge some TV and drink a few glasses of wine. Now... she was gonna have to take a babywipe shower and pray she didn't fall asleep in the middle of the day.
~~
Luke was packing up his gear when he noticed John lingering by his stall. It was unusual for them to end up alone together, but everyone else had already cleared out. Luke hesitated, but nodded in John's direction, signaling he was ready for whatever conversation John wanted to start.
John approached, hands tucked in his pockets. "Hey, Luke. Got a minute?"
"Sure," he replied, setting down his bag. He straightened, unsure of where this was going.
John shifted, looking uncomfortable but determined. "I just... I wanted to say that I appreciate how you've been with Riley. He talks about you a lot, and Tori said he's clearly happy when you're around. I can see it too."
"Thanks, John. Means a lot. Riley's a great kid, and I care a lot about him."
John nodded. "Look, I'll admit, it hasn't really been easy watching another guy take on such an important role in my son's life. But it's obvious Riley looks up to you. And I don't want him to feel like he has to choose between us, y'know?"
"Trust me, I don't want that either," Luke said sincerely. "You're his dad. I'm never gonna try to take your place. But I also want to be there... for both of them."
A silence hung between them, a final mutual understanding. Finally, John cleared his throat. "I think as long as we're both on the same page... for good, that's what matters. Riley deserves to have people that care about him. And I see that you really do."
"Absolutely. I'm here for both of them, but I respect your role in his life."
John extended his hand, and Luke firmly grasped it, both of them nodding. This was it. Peace at last. They finally had made peace. And Luke felt a renewed sense of purpose. Riley and Tori were his family. And he'd support and protect them, no matter what.
~~
Tori was scrolling through her phone, her half-eaten bowl of cereal forgotten in front of her. Riley was at John's and she was finally getting a moment to hereslf.
"Hey," Luke said, sliding in the room, looking... oddly calm.
Hey," she placed her phone down. "What's up?"
"I had a chat with John the other day," he began.
Tori swore her heart stopped beating for a second. "Oh?"
"Yeah. It was... it was good. We talked about Riley, about us. And we, uh, we finally seem to be on the same page."
"Wait? Really?" She couldn't believe that John had been so mature about it. "That's amazing, Luke! I'm so happy to hear that."
"I know. It feels good. Like the weight has been lifted off us."
Tori nodded, returning to her cereal. "Thanks for doing that, Lu. For all of us."
"Anytime, V. Anytime."
~~
Luke wasn't used to activities that involved lots and lots of excited children, so he couldn't help but feel a little out of place at the aquarium. He watched as kids ran around, their voices echoing through the dimly lit rooms, poiting at fish and pressing their faces against the glass.
Riley, who was practically vibrating with excitement, darted ahead, running as quickly as his little feet would take him. "'Ook! 'Uke, 'ishies!" he squealed, his face lighting up at the sight of a massive tank full of colourful, tropical fish.
Luke laughed, crouching down beside him. "Ya see that big one over there, Ri? I think it's giving you the stink-eye," he whispered conspiratorially, making Riley giggle. They stayed there, noses pressed to the glass, Riley's hand clutching Luke's while Tori trailed behind, smiling at how perfectly they fit together.
Riley pointed at an orange clownfish. "Nemo!" he declared proudly, looking up at Luke for confirmation.
"Yep, that's Nemo! And what about that one?" he pointed to a tiny, darting blue fish.
"Dowy!"
Tori joined them, her hand brushing Luke's shoulder as she knelt beside them. "Expert fish spotter Riley Marino. I like the sound of that. What about you, Ri-Ri?"
"Wiley Mawino!"
"Yes! That's you!"
They moved through the exhibits, Riley darting between tanks, his awe palpable. Luke and Tori held hands, exchanging smiles as they watched Riley live his best life.
"We should do this more often," Luke suggested, squeezing Tori's hand.
"You think?"
"Duh! This is so much better than sitting around and playing 'chel with Jack all day."
Tori cackled, "Luke!"
"Just telling the truth. Love you, V," he turned, pressing a kiss to the side of her head.
"Love you more, Lu."
~~
"You want me to meet your family?" Tori asked, trying to make sure she had heard Luke correctly.
"That's what I said."
"Luke..."
"I know, I know. It's a big step, but I know everyone would love you and Riley. It's a good chance for him to hang with new people."
"Meeting you family is... big. Like life-changing big."
"I know it's a big deal, but I wouldn't ask if I wasn't sure. Plus it's just a few days at the lake, nothing intense. My mom will eat up the time with a toddler. I think she's been secretly waiting for a grandchild."
Tori laughed, adjusting the sleeping toddler on her lap. "I... can I have some time to think about it? It'd be our first vacation together and my first time with your family. That's..."
"You've got all the time you need, Tori. Jack, Q, and I spend like most of the summer there, so any weekend that works for you... we'll make it happen."
"Deal."

Tumblr media
it was the sight of you in one of lewis' t-shirts that made something bubble to the surface. it was an old t-shirt, the honest lewis thought he threw out.
but there you were eating breakfast at the kitchen island, the way you sat let the shirt right up a little bit more. lewis got a sight of the softness underneath.
and that was how lewis knew he was fucked.
the sight of you in his clothes stuck with him for the few days afterwards. when he sat in the kitchen he thought about it. when he was at the gym, it was on his mind. he wondered if you'd wear his jewellery very casually or the cost of it scare you off. he wondered if you'd wear his more expensive clothes.
you often shied away from things that were too lavish. you were probably the least expensive sugar baby on the planet. most would've easily pocketed his expensive belongings on top of their payments. but you one time got all flustered because lewis suggested that you got a better (read: more expensive) cut of meat from the grocery store.
but the entire thing spoke to something deeper. the lingering feelings he had for you. he knew of your little arrangement. while not a sex worker, you went with him to events and cheered him on at the track. you were almost a live-in girlfriend, but mostly a beauty to hang around him.
but he yearned for something deeper. he wanted to be your one and only. he mostly got that fix through sexual intimacy, while not part of the agreement. it was hard to deny the attraction between you two.
it only made sense in the end
“scratch me, bite me, just mark me sweetheart. show them I’m yours.” lewis groaned as he wrapped his strong arms around you. he rubbed himself up against you before he captured your lips.
he hated being desperate, but there was something about you that made something thrum inside of him. the engine of his soul was revving up at the feeling of closeness.
you giggled and held him by the back of the head to make him look at you. you smiled, his chin was on your chest as those dark eyes looked up at you. it felt so out of character, the often cool lewis hamilton was starting to get riled up.
you cupped his face with both hands and smiled, "lewis. do you like me?" you said in an almost flirty tone.
he swallowed, wrapping his arms around you to pull you as close as you could get. he tried to compose himself as he said, "you've been on my mind for days now... i think you've made me lost it. i've never been like this with anyone else."
you chuckled lightly, trying not to show the shock across your features. you could feel the tightness in your chest. you replied, "you're a bad sugar daddy, hamilton."
he shifted up towards and leaned in for a hot kiss. his lips square with yours as he held you close to him. he replied, "then i'll have to be a better lover."
you rubbed up against him, his hardened cock poked against your stomach. you replied, "good, i'm in need of a good one." before you kissed him once more.
his hands then worked to get your bra off, followed by pushing your panties down in a feverish rush. he groaned a little bit into the kiss. this was real. you both finally crossed the line after toeing it for so long.
soon you were both naked and lewis braced his hands on either side of you. he looked down at you and he licked his lips. you reached for him and playfully dragged your perfectly manicured nails across his tattooed chest.
he exhaled deeply and swallowed. his bare cock twitched at the feeling. he said, "yeah, you mark me. i'll mark you? how about you wear some of my rings. and you can claw up my back."
you blushed a little, "aren't they expensive."
"i'd pay more to have your teeth marks tattooed onto me." he replied, only half joking. he watched your squirm and almost cover your face. he chuckled and leaned in closer to you. he inhaled your scent and felt his cock grow painfully hard. he needed the sweet release of his precious angel's cunt.
"you're insane." you giggled. flowering at the attention, you always did. you were a sucker for him. at very few points in your life did you feel like the center of someone's world. but lewis was different, the light he carried for you.
it was only a matter of time before the dam came down. he took you by the hips and leaned back on his heels. he admired the feeling of your thighs in his hands. the right amount of softness under his palms.
he laughed a little, "you feel so good. i'm sorry i couldn't be your sugar daddy. i hope you don't run off and find another." he pulled you closer to him, his cock almost touching your slit.
you blushed, "don't worry. every other man just feels.... mediocre compared to you." then tensed up a little when he teased your pussy with his cock.
he felt the tug in his chest at your words. it had been boiling under the surface for so long. to have it out in the open made him feel more alive than ever. but he was careful about having sex with you.
he slowly slotted himself into you, and his hands braced on either side of you once more. you held onto his shoulders once more. being so close to him this way was nothing new. but it still left a flutter in your chest.
you kissed once more, you dug your nails into his back as he started to rock his hips. his pace wasn't painful, he wanted to indulge in the feeling of you. while you both had your fair share of quickies, in the comfort of his nice home, you had all the time in the world,
the sound of your kisses mixed with the small squeaks of the bed. you felt protected in your lover's arms. his kisses felt like lightning in your body, it was a heavenly feeling. only topped off by the pleasure coursing through your body. it felt good, really good.
lewis was a generous lover, that was why he ended up bedding so many before you. you squirmed a little from the heat that pooled in your gut with each of his heavy thrusts.
he savoured you like a fine wine. like dishes served at restaurants on the beach in rich capital cities. he moved against you at an even pace, but even that was making your toes curl.
"please, lewis." you panted as you held onto him. chest to chest.
he rutted against you, his hips rolled in a steady pace. the constant throb between your legs made you pant with want. and he in turn kissed along your jaw. soft lips against your skin.
"you like that don't you?" he asked quietly, "like the feeling of me against you. not the first time and it won't be a last time. not even close." he voice was tinged with affection.
"i love it." you panted, "shit. you always know how to make me feel good." you swallowed back the pleasure as you felt it course through you.
"pretty girl." he purred, "but you know that. we make quite the pair, i have the photos to prove it."
you got flustered under his words as the two of you move against one another. you felt hot all over with the sweat especially down your back, getting caught by the white sheets under you.
lewis' pace started to stagger and he felt the lust course through him. he quickly finished, his cum was pushed as far as it could get. the thought made him shudder, it aroused his greatly. he panted heavily, but he started to play with your clit as he continued to rut his cock into you. it greatly overstimulated him, but he was determined to make you cum.
you held onto him, your head against his shoulder as you tensed up. you moaned loudly into his heated skin and arched your back a little from the pleasure. you came and almost kicked out your legs from the intensity.
you both relaxed, with lewis pulling you to him as he laid on his side. his nose was against your neck as he started to come down. you two held one another, embraced in your warmth on top of the covers.
"i guess i broke the number one rule of sugar daddies." lewis chuckled a little.
"that's alright. i'm pretty sure it would have happened eventually. the money is nice, but i genuinely care about you."
he pulled away to kiss you on the lips. he said, "good, because i care about you too. now." he held you close to him, chest to chest, "would you like to go again or do you want to get something to eat?"
you replied as you got out of his grasp and straddled his lap. you splayed your hands across his toned chest. you said, "well, i don't think it's much of a choice is it."
he smiled, "that's what i like to hear." <3

—come here, darlin’.
synopsis: You could make plenty of bad choices on your own but throw a little alcohol in the mix and you might just make a really, really bad(good) decision. Everyone knew Joel but you would like to know him a little more on a personal scale.
tags: 21(+), mdni, slight nsfw, some suggestive content, tw for mention of alcohol/drinking, tw for being drunk, joel miller x fem!reader, 1k words, one-night stand, short & sweet
creator notes: part 2 is out now!
Tumblr media
You had no idea how long he had been watching you but you certainly could feel his gaze now. It crawls over your body like a summer’s heat; from your neck to your shoulders, down your back, your legs and back up. Not that you minded his hungry gaze. To be honest, you had also been watching him, watching how every muscle strained beneath that cotton shirt of his, staring hungrily at the smooth expanse of skin displayed due to the first button of his shirt coming undone.
Both of you were drunk by now, had to be, so if something were to happen later you could easily blame everything on the alcohol. Ordering another drink wasn’t one of your brightest ideas, but you did it anyway, needed a little more confidence for what you hoped was going to happen tonight.
The bar was packed. Live music rattled so loudly you could feel the vibrations under your feet, feel the tune of the music beat to your pulse. It was thrilling, stimulating the alcohol in your system to make some pretty bad decisions. But you don’t have too, not when Joel Miller is leaning on the bar beside you with a whiskey in his hands and a drunk red streak across his face. Alcohol was rarely served but tonight was someone’s birthday or another so you took every opportunity to drink anything and everything in sight. And somehow, in your drunken stupor, you had managed to snag Joel into some light conversation. You talked, laughed, drank, brushed hands, laughed some more, until you were both five or so drinks in.
That’s when his eyes started to do the talking.
He didn’t have to say out loud what he wanted, and you assumed he wouldn’t. Alcohol or not, you would've guessed he’d probably never take the opportunity to ask you to go home with him, would just quietly stare and watch you with that hungry gaze of his until you both parted for the night and he’d regret it in the morning.
You wouldn’t let him leave tonight though.
“Joel,” You hum softly as you lean closer to him, appearing to be reaching for a napkin to close the distance between you two. Getting closer to him so no one else could hear you speak. “Let’s leave.”
Joel takes a sip of his whiskey, swirling the liquid around in his glass as he debates what to do. It was a pretty terrible idea; a man twice your age? A well respected man within the community who knew everyone and everyone knew him, who was fooling around? Not to mention he had not been intimate with anyone for a very long time…
Definitely a bad idea.
“My place. Leave a few minutes after I do.” Joel finally responds in a hushed tone, speaking directly into your ear. His words were slurred but that didn’t lessen the shiver of excitement that ran down your spine. He shoots back his whiskey then, all in one go, before he pushes himself up off the bar. His steps are slightly sluggish but he manages to make his way towards the door. And you watch out of the corner of your eye as he goes. While he says his goodbyes to the usual people you see hanging around with him; you play with the edge of the napkin you had reached for moments ago.
Hearing the door open and close upon Joel’s exit, you do as he instructs. Waiting for a few, agonizingly long minutes before setting your now finished drink down. Saying your own goodbyes to the few people you knew, claiming to be turning in for the night, before you exit the bar in Joel’s cooling footsteps. Yet, instead of going home and to bed like you should, you make your way to Joel’s place instead.
It’s a bit of a blur when his house comes into view. The small white mailbox greets you before you enter his property, following the front porch light as it illuminates like a beacon in the pitch black darkness of night. You’re not but two steps from his front door when the wooden door swings wide open Joel opens the door before you even get the chance to knock. And before you can utter a word of greeting, he drags you inside, flicking off the porch light in the process.
He smells heavily of liquor and the fresh scent of firewood as he takes you into his grasp, one hand falling onto your waist while the other settles on your neck. Gently, he turns your chin up to meet his lips, forcing you backwards until your back meets the front door as he kisses you.
Instinctively, your arms wrap around his broad shoulders, pulling him closer as you stand slightly up onto your tippy toes to get a better reach. You taste the liquor on his tongue. Can feel the burn of the whiskey on your lips. He tasted just as intoxicating as the real thing. While he kisses a little sloppier than you expected, you could blame the alcohol for that. Regardless, the kiss is hot and heavy. It churns a roaring fire inside your stomach and makes you far nerdier for him than alcohol could ever.
He breaks the kiss then, brushing his beard along your jaw as he moves to kissing at your throat. He groans against your skin as he inhales your scent. The hand on your waist moves to push under the shirt you’re wearing and you eagerly take it off for him. Once the fabric is above your head it’s tossed to the ground, long forgotten. Joel’s hand now runs over your torso— up from your waist and across your stomach, sending shivers up and down your entire body. He moves a rough palm across your bra, causing you to gasp. Eagerly he presses his lips once again at the base of your throat before moving to capture your lips. Where he pours in every ounce of passion and lust he can manage before suddenly breaking away. And it leaves you chasing after him, wanting, yearning for more of his taste.
“Ya sure about this?” Joel whispers against your lips, practically kissing you with every word he speaks. “I’m not exactly a young man anymore.” He adds shyly. It makes you want him even more if that was possible at this point.
You chuckle, licking the taste of him off your lips. Instead of responding right away, you move your hands across the front of his chest now, reaching to slowly start unbuttoning the green shirt he wears. God he looked so good in that shirt, but you knew he’d look better without it at all. “I want you, right here, right now Joel.” You respond finally in an attempt to settle his mind.
And that’s all he needs to hear.

He freezes. Doesn't know what the hell else to do.
He can't picture it: Derek can't remember the last time somebody put their arms around him.
Was it Laura?
Of course it was Laura. How could he forget that? Derek has gotten pretty good at blocking things out—a little too good, it seems.
She didn't tell him anything before leaving New York. Didn't say a fucking word, just up and vanished. Derek had woken up one morning and she was gone, because she'd known without a shadow of a doubt that Derek would've only followed her if she'd have said a single word to him.
Nobody ever granted Derek’s wishes, no matter who he prayed to. Those desperate pleas where he asked to go back and get a chance to fix things, they all went unheard.
Laura left to go back to the place they both wished still existed just as it had; a place they were wanted alive, not dead. It wasn't fair that it was the very same place they would be hunted down if they did return, like the rabid animals the Argent's presumed they were.
Leaving the way they did meant they hadn't gotten the chance to see if anything was left at the house. They couldn't even mark graves, and grieve properly.
That same place also happened to be the place they'd been born, the place they'd grown up and called home.
Derek had never wanted Laura to face all of that alone.
The burnt down house. The nothing where there was once everything.
The thought still haunts him. One of so many.
Beacon Hills is home—but it's the home Derek had helped raze to the ground with his selfishness and stupidity. Everything he and Laura had ever known, everyone they'd ever loved, it was all gone, now. Derek had taken those things away from his sister and hadn't even had the guts to tell her. Tell Laura they were all gone because of him, tell her that everything that had happened to their family, to them, was all his fault.
In the aftermath of the fire Laura hugged Derek, and had kept hugging him, over and over in those weeks and months and years that followed. She would pull him into her arms hold him tight, whenever she could sense it was all getting to be too much for him again.
Alpha.
Big sister.
But Laura only knew about some of the reasons why it sometimes felt like too much effort for Derek to keep on breathing.
He never told her about Kate.
And Derek, the fucking coward, he'd allowed Laura to hold him, feeling the flames of shame on his cheeks every time, hot as those that took the lives of his parents. His family. His pack.
Now, he remembers that last time.
“I'm going out.”
Laura stood up, walked around the two mismatched armchairs and stopped him by throwing both her arms around his neck, pulling him into her and hugging him, scenting him.
It always took him a moment to respond these days, but Derek hugged her back.
“What's this for?”
“You. Because I know whomever's bed you end up in tonight, you won't be asking for one of these.”
Oh, fuck no. Derek couldn't handle that. Did she think he was out sleeping with people? Never again, not after…
He pushed his sister off him, gently; a stark contrast to the harsh words that followed.
“Don't fucking coddle me. And fuck you, Laura—I don't sleep in anybody's bed but my own.” A single mattress on the floor of the lounge of their shitty one bedroom apartment. Derek had so many shameful memories, and crawling into his sister's bed every night for the first year after the fire was one of them. “Just—leave me alone.”
Laura was the one—the only—person Derek had left in the entire world, yet his guilt was constantly pushing her away.
“Where do you go to, little brother? You might not be clinging to me anymore, night after night, nightmare after nightmare, but you're rarely in your own bed most mornings.”
She hadn't meant it as a dig. Derek knew that. She was his sister, and she loved him.
Maybe she thought he was making progress? Seeing people. Moving on.
Derek spent his nights waiting outside of dive bars, and hanging around in back alleys and dark places, desperate to find scumbags to taunt who were big enough and hard enough to at least attempt to kick the living shit out of him.
Derek hated being a werewolf, now. He wanted to get hurt and stay hurt.
“Just—out.”
Then Derek turned his back on Laura, leaving her to stand there and watch him walk away as he left her to go out looking for a fight, without looking back.
That was the last time somebody put their arms around Derek—and the last time he saw his sister alive.
It was two years ago. Derek doesn’t think he has taken a full breath, since.
Now here he is—standing in his stupid big loft that he bought for his betas, yet another pack he managed to destroy—having given away more than he should, with skinny yet strong arms wrapping as far around his shoulders as they'll reach.
Stiles.
“You don't have to hug back. But you can, if you want to. I won't tell,” the kid jokes. It's his way to connect, his connection to the world. A coping mechanism, Derek thinks.
He knows all about those.
“I…” he doesn't have the first fucking clue of how to handle this. Or how to admit he needs it—to himself, let alone somebody else. He doesn't know how to admit that he wants it.
But this is Stiles. The one person in Derek's life who seems, for some unfathomable reason, to give a fuck about Derek. To care about him.
Slowly, very slowly, Derek lifts an arm and awkwardly rests a hand on Stiles's upper back, feels the muscles jump slightly under the kid's baggy clothes as he tentatively spreads his fingers and finds the back of Stiles's neck.
Stiles's voice hitches just a touch as he says, “These can be on tap, you know. If you want them. Stilinski hugs are the best hugs, dude. Believe.”
And Derek finds he does believe. For the first time in forever, Derek believes there could be something good in his life again.
More confidently, now, he brings his other arm up to wrap around Stiles's waist and hugs Stiles tighter, properly, and allows himself to be hugged back.
Derek wonders how he has gone so long without this kind of closeness. Lived without this kindness.
He decides to let the 'dude' pass. Because maybe—maybe it wouldn't be so bad after all, to be somebody's dude?
Stiles's dude.
It's a fucking ridiculous moniker and yet Derek suddenly couldn't care less.
“I think I'd like that,” he whispers into the forbidden place where Stiles's jaw meets long, pale neck. "Dude."
Derek can feel Stiles's smile as the kid squeezes him harder. And, ironically, Derek feels as if he can breathe again.
.
for @greyhavenisback bc i want to hug you in person and can't <3 (unedited, forgive me!)

Soap is everyone's partner best friend and it drives people and because he's super clingy about it. There's no place for Price to sleep in his own bed because Soap took his place between Nik and Phil and they let him because "he was tired and sad". Gaz came back from a mission and thought he will spend time with Roach but he can' t because Soap's already laying head on his lap, talking about whatever bullshit they're at now and Roach seems content enough about it. Laswell threatened to take every single phone in a base to her office because she can't ever call her wife because Soap's always on a phone with her with new rumors. Alejandro has to actually wait for his turns to dance with Rudy whenever Soap's around because he Rudy lets Soap steal him with a smile.
Price was starting to wish Soap and Graves never made up considering how the sergeant was always with him or Nik when Price had free time. He just wanted to relax with his boyfriend and husband but Soap was already wedged between them, a movie playing. Price had to wait for the movie to end just so he could cuddle his partners since Soap refused to leave without finishing the movie.
Gaz didn't think Soap hanging out with Roach was a problem until he came back to base after a long mission. He just finished debriefing everything that happened, showered and ate, and he just wanted to spend time with his boyfriend... Which he didn't get to do because Soap and Roach were reading some comics together. Gaz went to bed annoyed and frankly upset he didn't get to spend time with Roach after missing him for months.
Laswell originally had no issues with any of her boys having Annie's phone number. She was 'Homey Mom', which countered Laswell's 'Stern Mom'. But she started having a problem when never seemed to be able to talk to her wife while away from home because Soap was always on the damn phone with her. Laswell had so many messages from Annie telling her she was already on the phone with Johnny and couldn't talk at the moment.
Alejandro was already pretty touchy and generally jealous over Rudy. That was his amazing husband, his soulmate, the light of his existence, and fucking Soap was stealing all his attention! Alejandro was fuming when he saw them dancing at the bar, Rudy laughing as Soap twirled him around. Took a few Los Vaqueros to keep him from doing anything that he would've regretted.
It annoyed them all, bothered a couple. It was Alejandro who found a solution to it, being beyond angry with Soap for stealing all his husband’s attention. Soap had held Rudy’s hand for the last time because Alejandro went on the offensive.
As Soap leaned against Rudy, too close for Alejandro’s comfort, he would notice Ghost walk into the room. He sat up straight and went to call out to him, but then Alejandro swooped in from behind and wrapped his arms Ghost’s waist, resting his head on the man’s shoulder and grinning broadly. Soap just stared as Ghost and Alejandro talked. Everyone noticed Soap’s reaction, so, they naturally followed Alejandro’s lead.
And now Soap get almost no time with Ghost.
“Sorry, Johnny, Captain wants to go out drinking. No, you can’t tag along, it’s a high end club and he didn’t call ahead with a third wheel in mind.”
Busy, Johnny. Kyle and I are going on a hike. You and Roach were suppose to go to that movie, why are you asking?"
“Laswell needs me for a few hours. Oh, you’ve been talking on the phone all day, you won’t even miss me.”
“No, I can’t. Alejandro is taking me out to eat. Some, what did he call it, five star restaurant? Supposedly good food but it’s expensive. I’m not missing out on that!”
Soap was finally getting a taste of his own medicine. And, unfortunately for him, Ghost was all too happy to go along with everyone’s plans. While he wasn’t bothered by Soap’s closeness with the others, he would prefer his boyfriend’s attention on him.

a/n : i ❤️ writing angst 😈 , tried something new while using a different song. Enjoy bestiesss ◡̈
Tumblr media
It had been weeks since you and Paige had broken up, things were just too complicated between the two of you.
You wanted something serious, something made to last. But Paige wasn’t necessarily interested in that, while she did love you; you two were just opposing forces. Your relationship was trying to force two magnets together that clearly didn't attract to each other, or trying to force puzzle pieces together.
While you wish you could say it ended on good, mutual terms, the truth was quite far from that. You and Paige continuously argued throughout the couple of weeks leading up to your split. Whether it was about who you both were hanging out with, who didn't do the dishes, your social media presence, you've probably argued about absolutely anything under the sun.
Which is why when she suddenly broke up with you, you weren't surprised to say the least. You practically saw it coming, both of you slowly distancing yourselves, spending less and less time together, it was bound to happen at some point. But at this point in time, you were tired of begging her to talk to you, begging her to work things out with you. You simply gave up, knowing in the back of your mind that if it was meant to be it would've been, and things would have already fallen into place.
You had already figured that she had moved on, you just didn't expect it to be that fast. You knew the type of person she was, but it did sting a little bit knowing that your 2 ½ year relationship didn't really mean that much to her. Your mind instantly starts thinking of the what-ifs, what could have possibly made a difference in your relationship, and this infuriated you.
I mean, what the fuck was her deal? Trying to tell everyone you both ended amicably, how you eventually wanted to try again, but immediately getting with some other chick? I mean come on now. That was just petty and low.
And as if the universe was playing a joke on you, with the weeks after your breakup it seemed as if you were seeing the blonde everywhere, whether it was throughout the campus grounds, or perhaps at the gym. But nothing could have prepared you for your next encounter with the 6’0 point guard.
It was a friday night, and you had just finished your last final of the school year, the air was cool, and the sun was setting. Your friends had decided to celebrate by going to an end of the year house party, hosted by one of UConns most infamous frat houses.
To be frank, you didn't really feel like going, the idea of being surrounded by a bunch of drunk college kids didn't really appeal to you. But somehow, your friends managed to convince you.
You wore a skin tight, tantalizing, black lace dress with some simple black pumps, dabbing a tiny, but noticeable amount of makeup on your face, that enhanced all your natural features.
As you entered and made your way through the party, music thumped loudly, echoing through the house and drawing people in. The air is thick with the smell of alcohol and sweat, mixed with the faint scent of cheap cologne and perfume.
Inside, the main room is packed with people dancing, laughing, and drinking. Red cups are scattered everywhere, filled with various concoctions of alcohol. The dance floor is a mass of bodies, moving and swaying to the sound of the music. With Strobe lights flashing, adding to the chaotic atmosphere.
After glancing around and observing the chaos filled room, you made your way to the make-shift bar set up near the kitchen, quickly helping yourself to the wide variety of alcoholic beverages the frat boys had to offer. You soon noticed a figure out of the corner of your eye lurking behind you, not paying any attention to it, you continued to tending to your drinks, hoping that whoever was behind you would just leave you alone.
As you turned around, you were met with a familiar set of blue eyes. The eyes that caused you so much pain and distress. You furrowed your brows, slightly frowning, before spitting out “what the fuck do you want?”, the blonde looked away slightly, before mumbling out a, “I just wanted to apologize to you, and yk make sure we were cool.”
If you weren't pissed off before, you certainly were now. You laughed slightly, before replying, “That's bullshit and you know it P.” Before quickly walking away, hoping to not run into her for the rest of the night.
But of course, the universe just couldn't let that happen. It felt as if everywhere you turned to, there she was, with a girl all over her. Whether she had her tongue down her throat, or occasionally grinding on each other, it didn't matter. All you knew was that this was Paige’s sick and twisted way of trying to make you jealous.
While it's shameful to admit now, you couldn't help but keep the shots coming, doing anything to keep your mind off the blonde.
It was only then when you spotted the two out of the corner of your eye, dancing on the dance floor. For some reason this dance looked oddly familiar, as if you've seen it somewhere. That's when it hit you, this was your dance, a dance you only did when your song was on, which to your luck happened to be playing.
A feeling of adrenaline and anger rushed over you, it was almost as if all your rationale just left your body and went to outer space. You quickly stormed your way over to both of them before spewing “So when you gonna tell her that we did that too??” Before looking over at the girl, who was now in return giving you a confused look, you continued, “She probably thinks its special, but it's all reused.”
“Y/N cmon, can we talk about this somewhere else?” Paige chimes in, before you snap a simple “No no, do you get deja vu when she's with you? Because i mean come on it’s so fucking obvious that-” the blonde cut you off by simply dragging you away from the living room and into the back patio of the house.
“Is that what this is about?” she says harshly, “why are you even so upset to begin with?” You felt as if someone had just punched you, not being able to grasp the fact that she herself can't grasp why you're so upset. “Dont act like we didn't do that shit too paige” you scoffed, “You're so pathetic. A different girl now but there's nothing new.”
The blonde just looks back at you, her gaze softening a bit, she bit her lip in anticipation of what you were going to say next, with tears welling in your eyes you managed to stammer out, “Do you call her, almost say my name? Because let’s be honest, we kinda do sound the same.”
A few minutes go by, the blonde remained quiet, just observing you through your sudden fit of rage; something you rarely did throughout your relationship. As if it was like clockwork, you suddenly snapped out of your sudden jealousy filled haze, and simply averted your eyes from Paige and onto the ground below you. Just releasing an annoyed sigh as you came to realization that you just word vomited incoherent sentences of jealousy to your ex.
The girl finally broke her silence, simply saying , “are you finally going to let me get a word in y/n?” But at this point, it was too late for the blonde to try and explain her actions, to give you closure, even tho in reality that is what you wanted; you knew you had to move on and try to rebuild your life outside of the blonde.
You simply shook your head in response, stating a sharp, “No, Paige. Im done trying to get you to understand what you did was wrong, and why it’s shitty that you keep doing it. Im done with you, goodbye.”
Before she could even reply you were already on your way out, the loud environment seeming to drown out everything and everyone around you. But unbeknownst to you, the blonde had given you a reply. Mumbling under her breath just quiet enough that you could hopefully hear it within earshot,
“But I wanted it to be you.”
muahahahahaha !!! Idk how to feel abt this tbh…uhmmmm ??? as always tysm for reading !

the nanny [paige bueckers] part two
[chapters 2 & 3]
read part one here!
chapter two: drunk eyes.
warnings: drinking.
Tumblr media
finally, after a long 6 hours, catherine received a response back from the nanny position she applied for. hearing the notification ding from her computer, she shuffled to it quickly from her kitchen, where she was stuffing her face with a small snack. she began doing this for any all all notifications she had received that day. the girl was nervous to say the least, really wishing she was given the chance.
"𝖧𝗂, 𝖢𝖺𝗍𝗁𝖾𝗋𝗂𝗇𝖾. 𝖳𝗁𝖺𝗇𝗄 𝗒𝗈𝗎 𝖿𝗈𝗋 𝖺𝗉𝗉𝗅𝗒𝗂𝗇𝗀. 𝖬𝗒 𝗇𝖺𝗆𝖾 𝗂𝗌 𝖯𝖺𝗂𝗀𝖾, 𝖺𝗇𝖽 𝖺𝗌 𝗒𝗈𝗎 𝗋𝖾𝖺𝖽, 𝖨'𝗆 𝖺 𝗌𝗂𝗇𝗀𝗅𝖾 𝗆𝗈𝗆 𝗐𝗂𝗍𝗁 𝖺 𝖼𝗋𝖺𝗓𝗒 𝗌𝖼𝗁𝖾𝖽𝗎𝗅𝖾. 𝖨𝖿 𝗒𝗈𝗎'𝗋𝖾 𝖺𝗏𝖺𝗂𝗅𝖺𝖻𝗅𝖾, 𝖨 𝗐𝗈𝗎𝗅𝖽 𝗅𝗂𝗄𝖾 𝗍𝗈 𝗆𝖾𝖾𝗍 𝖿𝗈𝗋 𝖼𝗈𝖿𝖿𝖾𝖾 𝗈𝗋 𝖻𝗋𝖾𝖺𝗄𝖿𝖺𝗌𝗍 𝗍𝗈𝗆𝗈𝗋𝗋𝗈𝗐. 𝖳𝗁𝖺𝗇𝗄 𝗒𝗈𝗎."
sending the message to catherine, after taking a while to answer her request, paige began to worry. as she turned the phone to azzi, she sat restless on the uncomfortable metal folding chair, her long leg bouncing up and down as the speakers on the court echoed loud pop music. "does this sound professional enough?"
the girl was thoroughly surprised, face showing it all, "aye, p, you used your commas correctly. also sounds super mom of you. 'as you read.'" azzi snorted out the last part, hand falling on her stomach to soothe the aches of her laughs rumbling through her.
"shut up," paige laughed, nerves eased a bit as she pushed a start blonde piece of hair out of her face. taking that as a yes, she tossed her phone under her seat since the game was about to start, knowing how they were about phones, even at their grown age. call it sports game etiquette. moments later, geno, their head coach, was calling all the woman for a huddle before the game began as they started to call their starting players. loud roars of cheering erupted on either side of the decently filled gym once paige's name was called. for it just being a scrimmage, paige always appreciated the turn out.
catherine answered that message immediately, not wanting to lose out on this opportunity. she couldn't afford to, and honestly didn't know what else to do if this didn't work out. there were no  other choices besides putting school on pause again to find a random job that paid enough to work full time. the thought of that kind of life made catherine absolutely cringe, which in turn encouraged her to type faster.
her response was simple but effective, basically stating that she's free and would be more than to meet tomorrow, even suggesting a meeting place.
after hitting send, she rested her head on her soft-pink pillows, looking forward to a quick nap before a long friday night at the club.
˚✧.*
unfortunately, catherine's nap was pretty useless. it was pretty dead for a friday night, just a few drinkers here and there. luckily she didn't dress to impress, because it would've been a waste. their dress code at vynil was just all black, and catherine loved the simplicity of it. meaning she could show up in some leggings and a tank on nights like these and be just fine.
the girl leaned against her empty bar, palms flat on the counter as she sighed. her eyes found the clock to the right of her, hanging on a light grey wall that looked dark in this lighting, matching the rest of the walls in the club. the time read 11:47, forcing yet another sigh out her. her hair was parted down the middle and hung on either side of her face, the face framing bangs she randomly gave herself the other night blowing up and out of her face with every huff she let out.
anything is better than nothing, she reminded herself. at least she made some money tonight.
catherine sat at her empty bar for a few more minutes as she waited for any action to occur. it was then she decided it was probably going to look like this for the indefinite future. pushing herself up off the bar, catherine attempted to head back to her managers office to possibly be cut for the night, but she was held back by the rumbles of a large group of tall women walking into the club. there were at least 12 of them, and she smiled out of relief.
after a couple minutes of id checking by the large bouncer hanging at the front, who had also looked bored out of his mind until they arrived, they all made their way towards her side of the bar. catherine stood up straighter to let the women know she was ready and available to serve them. it was then she began regretting the simplicity of her outfit choices.
catching part of their conversation as they all walked over, she overheard a very loud, "you promised us all shots, right, p?" the party of women all rumble in agreement and laughter to the question.
now approaching the bar, catherine puts on her best customer service smile. "hi, how are we all doing tonight?" she spoke loudly to the group as they all surrounded her bar. they were all very lovely, responding back just as cheery.
"what can i get y'all started with tonight?" catherine asks the inevitable question, the group erupting into the same rumble from just a few moments prior, all asking if 'p was still buying shots.'
"alright, alright," came another voice from the large crowd, making its way to the front of the bar. a tall, blonde woman walked up to catherine, who waited patiently as she flashed her a smile, her crystal colored eyes looking at the girl expectantly. "hey, how you doin'?"
"not too bad. what can i get for you hun?" catherine asked, pushing a piece of caramel colored hair out of her face, making a note in her mind to find a hair tie soon.
"uh, round of shots, please."
the girls eyes skim over the group, counting 12 women that she needed to prepare drinks for. "for sure. house?" catherine's hand stuck out as she waited on her preference in liquor, waiting for the woman's card to ring her up.
handing over her debit card, she responds with a, "yes, please."
"lovely." catherine clicked away on her check out screen, ringing in all her drinks, then making it to the close out button. "did you wanna start a tab?"
for a moment, having been so sucked into their intimate interaction, they'd both almost forgotten about the other women surrounding them. and before the woman before her could answer, a tall brunette with a big smile wraps an arm around her, patting her should with her free hand as she loudly answered for her friend, "hell yeah! party paige is in the club!"
"get outta here, nika." paige laughs before nodding to catherine, "yeah, you can start a tab."
the girl then rung in her drinks, making them all as soon as her card went through. she decided to make small talk as she lined up all twelve of the short glasses, before reaching for the correct liquor. "are we celebrating?" she asks casually, pouring each shot quickly yet precisely, some of the women watching in awe of her skill.
paige shifts in her position at the bar, moving to lean against it to get comfortable, going to answer for the group. "basketball season's starting soon."
catherine gasps lowly and softly, smiling once again at them, "oo, that's exciting. do y'all go to that one university not far from here?"
they all answer with some variation of 'yeah' and 'yes' as catherine finished pouring each shot, placing them all on the elevated part of the bar where people received their orders.
"well, here's to an amazing start to your season." catherine states as she finishes passing out the shots, and paige swears her words were coated with glitter, sounding as genuine and as sweet as ever.
downing their shots with sour faces from the shock, a few taking longer than others, they all began to make their way to the dance floor. some of the women lingered near the bar to order the drinks they planned to sip on, paige being part of that crowd, settling for a simple dirty shirley temple.
paige stuck with that same order the rest of the night, easily having consumed six of them so far. and she wasn't shy about it either. nor was she very shy with catherine.
"what's your name?" paige asked out of nowhere, fully leaning her long body on the black countertop for much needed support. catherine was making her 7th drink of the night, but this time not adding in any vodka, deciding now was a good point to cut her off at.
looking up from her craft, the brunette made eye contact with paige, noticing how her eyes were almost closed. though, she could still read the longing look in them. "cat." she replies simply and sweet.
"that's so cute," paige compliments, a hint of adoration in her words. "you got any kids?"
catherine accidentally let out a small giggle at the sudden question, not expecting that at all. "none that i know of." she jokes, the joke missing paige completely. "do you?"
the blonde nods proudly as she begins to smile, a hand rubbing the back of her neck where her low bun rested, thinking of her little girl. "yeah, a baby girl." once she spoke her thoughts out loud, her smile began to falter. "a-actually she's 5. not really a baby."
"my mama always said that you're a baby until you're eighteen."
"i'd like to think of her that way." paige says in agreement with this total strangers mom, "she grew up so fast." she confides in catherine, clearly sad and clearly drunk.
catherine was now shaking her cocktail shaker, inquiring further. "had her young, huh?" paige just nodding sadly in response. "that's okay. my mom had me when she was 14."
"yeah?"
"yup. and i still turned out pretty okay."
paige saw opportunity for a joke, a small smirk playing on her lips as she let out a, "kinda." her shoulders shrugging once with an unsure face.
catherine raised an offended eyebrow, "oh, o-kay." she scoffs out, followed with a laugh as their eyes met. catherine's laughs fall off at the same time as paige's, both of them holding eye contact. it sounded as though the room fell quiet, side conversations and loud basses fading slowly.
catherine was the first to pull away, now pouring the flushed blondes virgin drink, placing it right in front of her with a glass of water as well. with that same, sweet smile from before, she spoke, "enjoy."
"thanks."
paige's drunk eyes followed catherine as she moved about the bar, whether she was attending other consumers or paying attention to her. she was sure she looked silly to everyone else, but the fog in her vision made her care less. she watched in admiration at how her hips swayed about in her tight, black leggings, and how her matching black tank hugged her waist, accentuating her smooth and natural looking curves. she loved how her brunette hair was now up in a messy yet tasteful ponytail. two small pieces of hair hung around her face, and she wasn't sure if it was there on purpose or not. eventually, catherine caught the woman's low eyes, flashing her a confused smiles. "you lost?"
"nah, nah, you just have.." paige began to speak her almost incoherent thoughts loudly, sighing before she continued to slur her words, her body still leaned heavily against the bar, "a great body." she clearly was not thinking before she spoke.
smiling casually as she wiped down the counter, catherine caught the woman's eyes. "thank you."
instantly, paige regretted even speaking to the woman as a wave of heat took over her, the room now becoming too hot. she sipped the last few ounces of her water before ultimately walking away, completely crashed out from embarrassment. it definitely left catherine even more confused, but she was soon too swarmed and busy to even dwell. she never tried to dwell too hard on drunk people anyway.
sooner or later, the uconn womans basketball team began to call it a night. as they gathered their group, they bombarded catherine's side of the bar with requests to close their tab, catherine working quickly and efficiently.
the brunette began to call out names to the woman so they could each retrieve their respective tabs. "okay—azzi?.. here you go, babe.. nika? that's a gorgeous name, nika.. kamorea? s-sorry—kk. here you go, mama."
after a couple of minutes placing tabs to faces, catherine was only left with paige's. looking out to the floor, she didn't see the woman anywhere. waiting patiently, catherine began to clean up her bar, instructing everyone to just leave their bills on one end to be collected. paige's was the last tab she had to close for the night before she could tip out the bouncers and head home for some much needed sleep.
the team of college basketball players eventually made their way closer towards the front of the club while they impatiently waited for their friend, a few of the women asking where she was every few seconds.
eventually, paige emerged from the women's bathroom, no one missing the other woman around the same age as her leaving only seconds after. guilt and even more embarrassment flooded her face as her teammates all chirped up to tease her. eventually she approached catherine at the bar, asking to close out her tab.
"alright, love, you're all set." catherine places the multitude of receipts and a pen on the counter in front of her, paige picking up the pen to just sign her name, and putting a line through the tip line—which was wildly out of character for her.
that caught catherine completely off guard. at that, paige just began to walk away, no other words spoken.
"your mama never teach you how to tip?" catherine called out, unashamed. paige turns to find the woman starting her down, her gaze intimidating and sending a family of butterflies to move in to her stomach. why did this make her feel more giddy than embarrassed?
paige stutters out a quick 'uh' before catherine rolls her eyes, telling her to have a goodnight. that sweet voice from earlier now tasting extremely bitter. and before paige can answer, she's being pulled out by her teammates, who are all ready to leave.

chapter three: such a cliche.
"paigey... paige."
a tiny madison stood by her moms bed side, pulling on her limp hand, speaking her name constantly in attempt to wake her up. the girl was dressed in a disney princess sleep gown, and her hair was everywhere, a frizzed, curly mess.
the room was dark from paige's damn near black out curtains, but the light flowing in from the bright hallway was just enough to illuminate enough. paige was slumped, snoring quietly, and her skin was oily.
stirring slightly, the slumped blonde began to wake up slowly, her eyes fluttering open for a moment, then closing at the painful light. after a few more seconds of calling for her mom, madison started to poke her face. this made paige open one eye slightly, groaning in her sleepy state.
"w'sup, babe?" paige mutters out, sleepiness coating her words. a hand slowly coming up to her forehead as she tried to rub away a raging headache.
"i'm hungry." madison informs with sass, a small pout forming as she watched her mom fall in and out of sleep, now shaking her arm.
however, at those words, paige immediately sat up. grabbing her phone off the night stand in her sleepy state, she read the time to be 10:17. today was the day she was interviewing with catherine sanchez over breakfast for the nanny position and she was about to be extremely late. "fuck." paige muttered, throwing her legs over the side of her bed, supporting herself with one hand as they other rubbed her eyes.
"fuck?" madison repeated with confusion.
paige stopped, looking down at her daughter from her sitting position on her bed. "oo, baby, don't say that." she condemned herself in her head for cursing around her daughter.
"why?"
"it's a bad word." paige explained quickly, going back to rubbing her eyes for moment. then, changing the subject back to the matter at hand. "hey, can you do me a big favor?"
"maybe." madison sassed ever so cutely, paige having to hold back her small chuckle.
"go find a really pretty princess dress to wear because we're gonna go get breakfast at a restaurant with a play place."
madison gasped excitedly, jumping against the carpeted floor and nodding, "okay!" she exclaimed before running to her new room that paige had just finished unpacking, promising to paint it purple when she had free time.
once the energetic girl left her room, paige managed to get herself ready fairly quickly, especially considering how exhausted she was from her outings last night and the interactions she made—both with the bartender and the random girl in the bathroom. paige sorta cringed to herself thinking about it all as she perfected her low, slick back bun, a hairstyle she found to be 'easy enough' when she was in a rush.
that night ended with paige barely making it home, extremely late, paying the babysitter more for her extra time, and forcing herself to rinse off before she slumped on her dark blue comforter. she planned on sleeping into the late hours of the mornings, clearly forgetting that she had an important meeting.
in their text conversation, they agreed to meet at a restaurant not far from either of their places, at 11 a.m. that morning to chat over breakfast.
"mads!" paige called from the hallway bathroom, which was madison's, but doubled as a guest one as well. last she checked, madison was still deciding on if she wanted to wear her elsa dress or her tiana dress. "hurry up, i need to do your hair!"
a couple minutes later, madison ran into the bathroom, sporting a baby blue dress that paige couldn't imagine would be very comfortable. the itchy, plastic like material crinkled and crunched with every movement. deciding to leave her daughter be, paige just sat the girl in the round sink in front of the mirror, this barely being high up enough for her to do the girls hair comfortably.
paige just went with matching their hairstyles, something easy for the both of them. grabbing the girl out of the sink and placing her on her hip, paige turned off the bathroom light and made her way to the front door. paige placed madison down, sitting her in front of the door as she helped her put on her shoes. then slipping on her own,  paige made sure they had everything they needed before ultimately heading out.
˚✧.*
walking into the busy restaurant, just minutes before 11 a.m., paige met with the hostess. she informed the woman that her she had a reserved spot and was meeting with someone. waiting for the hostess to find her reservation in the books, paige took in its atmosphere. it was sophisticated looking, yet it was so laid back.
the hostess walked the two back to their reserved table that sat 4, asking if she could grab them anything yet. paige ordered some waters for the table and an apple juice for her daughter. once the hostess left, paige pointed to the play area that was mere feet from their table, the noise shielded by plexiglass. "how 'bout you go play, and i'll call you over when food gets here." paige smiles.
madison nods excitedly, "okay paigey." she starts to walk off, but paige wasn't done with her whole 'be safe, be nice, i love you' speech. standing up, eyes only on her daughter so she doesn't lose her in the crowds. the blonde began to walk towards her while calling out her name, but was stopped when she runs into something. looking straight ahead, she realizes she ran into a someone. "shit, i'm sorry, i—"
"that's okay—"
paige being met with the bartender that berated her the night before was absolutely not what she was expecting when she looked down ever so slightly.
"oh! i was just bringing her over to your table." the hostess spoke, eyes switching between the stunned pair.
both understanding what the woman was saying, catherine blinked at the hostess, then at paige. paige unintentionally mimicking the girl as they both spoke in unison.
"paige?"
"catherine?"
the hostess quickly noticed what was happening, slowly and quietly excusing herself from the interaction to return to her comfortable spot up at the front of the lively restaurant.
paige was the one to break eye contact, eyes skimming the restaurant for her daughter once again. finally, she found madison playing happily in the ball pit of the play place, taking a sigh of relief before looking at catherine, who had been looking at her expectantly this whole time.
"uh, sorry." paige spoke, looking down at the table, pulling catherine's seat out a bit across from her own before sitting down, "please." she gestured towards the brunettes spot, the girl sitting reluctantly. "uhh.." paige said nervously, clasping her hands in front of her, resting them in front of her. "i'm sorry, i wasn't expecting this." she lets out a small chuckle, attempting to ease the tension.
catherine gave her a small smile, nodding, "yeah," she lets out a small laugh as well, "what a cliche." she mutters to herself as she tucked a piece of hair behind her ear nervously. the girl almost wished to take back last nights interaction as a whole, their first impressions completely tainted now.
paige either choose to not acknowledge that statement, or genuinely didn't hear her, so she begins the small talk and interviewing process. "so you, uh, work at vynil," she starts, the flushed brunette nodding with a smile. "that's nice. have you been there long?"
catherine was about to just nod, stopping herself as she thought deeply for a brief moment. the girl accepted that her first impression had already been tainted—but she needed this job. fixing her face, she spoke, "yeah, just a little under three years." she spoke as friendly as possible.
paige recognized her sweet tone from the night prior, having slightly missed it after the way she called her out last night. "cool, cool," she nodded. she almost didn't know what to say or ask. she practiced the night prior with azzi, and nika before she left, on what to even ask.
"ask her if she's worked with kids before." azzi's words rang in her head.
"so i saw on your resume that you coached a kids soccer team for a few years. did you like working with kids?" paige began, hoping to have some conversation about catherine come out of this.
catherine proudly grinned with yet another head nod, "yeah, all throughout my first few years of college."
"you have your degree?" paige asks, a question the girl in front of her began to despise answering.
looking away out of embarrassment, she answered sheepishly, "not exactly.." she trails off.
"that's okay, me neither." paige shrugs, taking a sip of her daughters apple juice, a slight attitude rolling off her tongue at her following words. "i'm taking some undergrad classes my counselor 'forgot to tell me about.'" she rolled her eyes. "what's your major?"
catherine was honestly just so surprised at how laid back their conversation was, fully expecting to meet with a strict woman in her thirties. "h-history." she stutters out, still a bit stunned. paige sat leaned back in her chair, legs spread ever so slightly and arms laid lazily folded across her torso—clearly making herself comfortable.
paige was thoroughly intrigued by that information. she would've totally assumed something different, "really? that's actually pretty cool.. how come?"
no one ever really asked catherine why she was a history major. not seriously, at least. what can you even do with a history degree? they'd ask. "i.. think history is important." she explained as paige looked at her, deep and in tune with the conversation.
the pair spoke for another while, getting along a lot better than the two had anticipated. especially with how last night went. paige would only turn away from the conversation to check on her daughter every so often, flicking her crystal eyes towards the play place, or to order their food.
"yeah, i had madison when i was 18. the night after graduation."
"and no one knew?" catherine asked, shocked. the girl had desperately tried to keep up her professional tactics for the last thirty minutes, but to no avail. they spoke as if they were friends meeting up for brunch on a random friday that they both had off from work.
the blonde girl across from her just simply shook her head, "she was a really small baby, so i didn't show a lot. and all i wore were baggy clothes anyway, no one suspected a thing. shit, i didn't even know for the first four months."
"and your teammates never suspected?" the brunette asked, shifting in her seat. for a good duration of their 'meeting', she sat still and with her hands on her lap. however now, she opted to lean her elbows on the table infront of her as she sipped from her mug.
"basketball was over before i even started to show like that. and my graduation wasn't until mid june, plus the gown was huge." paige had answered. catherine sat there, wondering. did madison's dad even knew. and if he did, where was he?
however, catherine simply just nodded with respect, sipping from her cup of raspberry tea. "smooth."
as paige went to respond, their server was standing over their table, three plates in their hands as they placed everyone's respective breakfast meals in front of them, paige instructing him to put madison's down next to her.
after their server walked away, paige excused herself to go grab her daughter, who had been at it with the play place for a good thirty minutes now.
walking over to their shared table hand in hand with the small girl, paige gently introduced madison to catherine as they took their seats. catherine looked at the girl, immediate adoration in her eyes. she totally didn't expect to see a little light skinned girl to be paige's, berating herself internally because so many people must've thought that as well. she noticed how her hair was totally done quickly, and clearly by paige. but, what totally sold her—what made catherine know they'd get along—was madison's light blue elsa dress, that was tracking glitter everywhere she walked, and how she sported it casually and unbothered.
"mads, i want you to meet one of my friends." paige spoke softly, "this is catherine."
catherine smiled happily at the cuteness that sat in front of her. she wanted to squeeze the girl in a hug, her eyes big and curious at her moms new 'friend.'
"hi, mama. what's your name?"
"madison." the girl spoke shyly, clinging to paige's hand tighter.
"madison—" catherine dramatically and on purpose said the girls name all wonky, madison having no problem interrupting her with the correct way to pronounce it, laughing at the woman. catherine smiled, glad she was already breaking through to the seemingly stubborn girl. "oh, oh, my bad. madison—it's nice to meet you, madison. i'm catherine, but you can call me cat."
"like the pet?"
catherine nodded excitedly, "exactly. but, i don't have cool whiskers or claws." she shrugged.
"i have super frozen powers."
"nuh uh!" catherine says in disbelief.
"mhm, i can show you." madison then goes to make gestures with her arms, imitating the same moves elsa made when she would turn things to ice during let it go.
catherine then looks at her drink, gasping, "you made my drink all ice!" she exclaimed, madison then doing the same gestures towards her food. "and my food?" madison giggles, catherine quickly reaching over to steal food from the little girls plate. "okay, now you have to share."
madison laughs even more, pushing catherine's bigger hand away from her small portion of eggs and bacon, paige just watching happily as she began to eat, glad to know her food was safe from madison's 'powers.'
˚✧.*
walking out of the restaurant, the warm september air hitting their skin happily after sitting in a conditioned room for so long. paige bid goodbye to catherine, telling her she'd definitely be in touch about finding a day for catherine to come over and hang with them at their apartment, to get a better read on her.
catherine went to walk off, saying a quick bye with a sweet smile. however, paige's, "wait," made her stop in her tracks. confused, she walked back over to the woman as she frantically looked for her wallet. "here." she tried to hand the brunette two twenty dollar bills. catherine started shaking her head in rejection before the word no could even leave her mouth. "for last night. i actually don't know why i didn't," paige explains, referencing her lack of tip.
catherine gently pushed paige's eager hand away, "no, no, no," she repeated, "seriously, it's cool. don't worry about it... thank you, though." catherine smiled once more, the wind blowing some hair in her face. again, she went to walk away, paige quickly slipping the cash into the girls bag, going unnoticed by catherine.
"see you soon." paige called out with a head nod. catherine just looking back as she kept walking with another pretty smile and a wave to both the blonde and her daughter.

Chapter 5:
According to the clock tacked up behind the bar it was past midnight. Your brother was still perched at the bar, knocking back moonshine and staring at you and Coryo. He's been watching the two of you all night go back and forth between the dance floor and a wall side table. Seeing you so enchanted by Private Snow along with being introduced to his fellow Peacekeepers pissed him off.
If it wasn't for Ashlie plying him with moonshine and reminding him with harsh whispers that he can't make a scene because she can't afford to lose her job, well, he would've started shit with Coryo. But, since he had booze flowing freely at his beck and call he decided to stay put on his bar stool. Plus, he has to admit, even in his inebriated state, that the family couldn't afford Ashlie to lose her job. Hell, it was bad enough that you lost your job.
And now your brother's starting to think that maybe the Doula running the apothecary shop fired you because she felt uneasy with Private Snow hanging around you. Hey, Rein knows that you had to meet him somewhere; it only makes sense that you met him in town. In the Merchant's Sector while working.
Your brother was over everything. He did his best to raise you, but you seem to be cut from the same cloth as your mother. Rein never liked his stepfather, Colonel Javanis Halvir, and he never told you about him or the truth about how he died. About how both of your parents died.
But if you keep hanging on Private Snow as if the sun shines out of his damn asshole then he might have to tell you the truth. As a scare tactic. A warning to stay away from the pretty boy peacekeeper that's wooing you with twisted words and pretty pearly white smiles.
“Stop staring at that peacekeeper like you want him to drop dead, Rein.” Ashlie ordered her longtime boyfriend in a long, drawn out huff. When her only reply from him was a squint of his Seam grey eyes, she sighed. Looking between your brother and you, as you sat on Coryo's lap sipping on moonshine, Ashlie told your brother, “I'll have a talk with her in the morning about him.” Patting his arm before going over to a customer, she added in, “I'm sure this is just a passing fancy.”
“If she's anything like my mom, well, it ain't just a passing fancy.” Rein slurred, knocking back his shine.
His eyes narrowed disapprovingly as he watched Coriolanus motioning for you to stand up; setting your shine jar down only to stand up after you. He couldn't make out what was being said, but it looks like Coriolanus and you are saying your goodbyes to a couple of his peacekeeper friends.
Goddamnit, he hopes you don't do anything stupid tonight.
Tumblr media
You and Coryo walked back to your place from the Hobb side by side. In fact, he had his arm snaked around you; keeping you tightly glued to his hip. The smell of smoke and shine heavily lingered on the two of you. Even in the fresh summer's night air, the stench of the Hobb was heavily stained on you.
“Look, that's the North Star.” You pointed out the star that is used by sailor's and such for navigation. “I read that sailors and military men use it like a compass, if they don't have one, during the dead of night.” You explained, looking at Coriolanus with a smile as he looked up at the bright star shining in the black velvet sky. “It's also known as Polaris.”
“I've never seen it before, darling. The bright lights of the Capitol doesn't make stargazing very easy.”
“We can always lay in the meadow and stargaze sometime if you want.” You offered as you and Coryo continued on your way to your house.
“We'll do it one night, but not tonight.” Coriolanus told you. His breath was hot against your ear as he huskily said, “Tonight I'm going to show you how much I love you.” Pressing his lips to your temple, he crudely promised, “I'm going to fuck you so good tonight, baby.” Giving you a wide, eccentric grin, he added, “And it's all because I love you.”
You felt your heart racing a mile a minute in your chest at the implication of his words, his promise. Were you ready for that? To be fucked. Honestly, you weren't sure.
Coryo was so charming and nice to you. He’s also so devoted despite not being with you that long. And he claims to love you.
So why are you so nervous about his plans for tonight? Is it because you've never done that before or is it something else?
A sloppy wet kiss on your jawline, near your ear, accompanied by a deep husky question of, “You ready for me to make you mine tonight, baby girl?”, shook you out of your mental musings.
Worrying your lip, you slightly pulled away from your platinum blonde peacekeeper and honestly told him in a small nervous voice, “I dunno, Coryo. I've never…you know…been with anyone or been in love before.”
The peacekeeper stopped you both dead in your tracks, only to spin you around and take hold of your face. Squishing your cheeks in his large, calloused hands- his long fingers brushing into your hair, Coriolanus firmly told you with lust in his deep baritone, “I love you, Y/N, and you love me too. I'll always love you; tonight’s time for us to act on our feelings.” Pressing his forehead against yours, he promised, “If you're scared of me fucking you and leaving, don't be. I swear, I'll never leave you. Death itself can't even separate us.”
You still felt nervous, but his romantic words had you giving into his desire. Albeit relentlessly, you agreed to let him make you his tonight in every sense of the word. Your easy cooperation had Coriolanus grinning triumphantly from ear to ear.
Gesturing to your nearby house with a tilt of his head, your boyfriend suggested, “Let's get inside; make ourselves comfortable in your room.”
“Okay.” You simply nodded, although your heart was heavily beating against your ribcage.
You knew that as soon as you walked into your house and entered your room with Coryo that things between the two of you would never be the same again. That things would be serious and binding since he swore to never leave your side once he made love to you.
Well, he said the word fuck, but you'd prefer to say making love since it sounds better. Or at least to you it sounds less crude.
But in time Coryo’ll have you saying fuck too, cause he's not a ‘making love' type of man.
Tumblr media
The only light in your small room came from the moonlight streaming in from the window. The silver light cast a glow on your naked body as you lay in bed, chest heaving as you wither under Coryo's touch. His head was between your shaky legs, which were slung haphazardly over his squared shoulders.
The only sound in the room was that of your wet pussy squelching obscenely as he fingered you, faster and faster, while using his tongue to flick and lick your clit.
“Coryo…” You mewled, feeling the coil tighten in your lower belly, as you fisted your faded white sheets.
Resting his head against your inner thigh, while continuing to pump his long fingers in and out of your cunt, he told you, “You're close, baby.” In between placing open mouth kisses along your inner thigh, he asked, “You want me to make you cum? Hmm, darling?”
Of course you want him to make you cum. Your head's spinning and your core’s throbbing. There's an itch inside of you that you desperately need scratched; Coryo's the only one that can do that for you. He's the one that has you teetering at the edge of an intense feeling you've never felt before. Of course you want, no need, him to tip you over the edge into nirvana.
“Yes.” You whine. Nodding your head rapidly, you babble, “Please, Coryo, please make me cum.”
Coriolanus' hot breath fans over the soft skin of your inner thigh as he chuckles, hearty and deep, at your response to his question. It amuses him how he has you, a sweet and innocent girl, squirming and begging under him like a seasoned wanton whore. Only for him tho.
Only for him.
Coriolanus moved his fingers faster inside of your tight wet hole while bringing his lips back to your clit. He sucked hard on the swollen bundle of nerves before using his prominent nose to press against it, hard, while running his tongue sloppily over your folds. He was lewdly eating your cunt with such hunger, such vigor.
Your sweet juices tasted heavenly to him. God, he swears you're the best pussy he's ever tasted; he can't get enough of you. He's literally inhaling you as he laps at your folds, sucking your nectar into his mouth as if it’s a magical elixir to cure everything wrong with him. His nose continues to press into your pearl, making friction that sets your nerves on fire. That paired with the curl of his rough fingers hard and fast against the special spongy spot inside of you and his tongue messily passing thru your puffy petals has you seeing stars.
You cum with his name falling from your lips like a prayer, legs quaking and squeezing around his head. Your head thrashes around on your pillow as he continues to eat your cunt while you ride out your high. Coryo's got his hand, the one that's not stuck inside of your pussy, firmly holding down your lower stomach; preventing you from bucking your hips.
As your breathing steadily evens out, the platinum peacekeeper pulls his fingers out of your cunt and lifts his head. Pressing a kiss to the inside of one thigh, then the other, he tells you, “You've got such a sweet cunt, darling.” Pushing himself up, he raunchily smirks, “Sweeter than honey.”, before sucking your juices off of his fingers.
Your eyes are blown wide by lust and intrigue as you watch Coryo, kneeling between your spread legs in nothing, but his white boxers (which has a wet patch of pre-cum staining them), sucking on two of his long fingers with such erotic fervor. Your breath hitched in the back of your throat and your pussy grew wetter while watching Coryo's eyes flutter as his tongue swirled around his fingers; gathering up all of your juices.
Coriolanus pulls his fingers out of his mouth with a loud, wet pop. Moving off the bed and pulling down his boxers, he smirked, “You're so wet and ready for me, my darling.”
Your eyes nearly bulged out of your head as you took in the sight of Coryo's cock. You've never seen one before, but by the looks of it, well, you knew his was big. It had to be at least 8 inches; was thick too with veins running alongside it. His tip was angry and red, leaking precum.
Coriolanus saw you warily eying up his cock as he took his place kneeling on the bed between your spread legs. Using his hand to spread his pre-cum on his length, to use as lube, he began to give himself a few prep pumps. All while darkly smirking, “Gonna split you open with my big cock, baby.”
Since Coryo's the only man you've ever been with, you're not used to dirty talk. It did turn you on, but you do feel a bit- dunno- flustered by it too. Everything felt like it was happening too fast. Yes, everything you're doing with him feels good, but…still…everything seems so rushed.
As if Coryo has to have you. Has to stake his claim on you.
Well, he does have a primal need to possess you; to own you, but you don't need to know that.
No…
All you need to know is that your boyfriend loves you; wants to show you how much by fucking your brains out and taking your virginity.
“Coryo, is this gonna hurt? I've heard it hurts the girl for the first time.” You ask, looking up into icy blue eyes with apprehension in yours; killing the mood for dirty talk.
Seeing you worried about him hurting you was like a dagger to Coriolanus' heart. He'd never hurt you (not intentionally that is) and he really wants you to enjoy sex. He doesn't want you shying away from it. Hell, he wants you to be comfortable with him fucking you 7 ways til Sunday.
Coryo stopped stroking his cock, only to take your wrists in his hands and place them on his shoulders, all the while giving you assurances of, “Y/N, baby, I won't hurt you. I know I'm big, but I prepped you; your wet enough so I'll just slide on in.”
Nodding, you ask, “Can you go slow?”
“Yea. I'll go slow, baby.” Coryo promised with a kiss before teasingly sliding his cockhead up and down your folds; bumping your clit once or twice too. Lining himself up with your tight hole, he said, “Just hold onto me and try not to be too loud. Yea?”
“Okay.” You nod with a timid smile, hands resting on his shoulders, as he holds onto your hip with his free hand.
Coryo pressed a lingering kiss to your lips before pushing his cock into your tight cunt. The feeling of his tip entering you and stretching you out for the first time stung. But it also felt good in a way that you couldn't describe. Your wet hole greedily sucked in his length as he slowly pushed into you.
Damn, does Coriolanus think that your tight cunt feels good around his cock. He wants nothing more than to just snap his hips and bottom out deep inside of your tight, wet canal, but he was holding back- barely- because you asked him to go slow. He'll do anything for you, because he's obsessed to the point where he wants to ball and chain you to him forever.
You feel every vein and very ridge of his hard cock as Coryo continues to push into you. Your hold on his shoulders tighten as you feel his tip press against your barrier. Biting your bottom lip, you brave yourself for the pain of having your barrier broken. But that pain never comes.
No, you just feel a sharp prick; a burning sting, as your cherry's popped. You do let out a strangled whine as Coryo pushes the rest of the way in; bottoming out and causing a large bulge to become visible in your lower stomach.
“You're such a good girl, darling. Taking me so well.” Coryo praised, looking down at where you're joined. “Look, baby.” He instructed. Pressing a hand to the bulge in your stomach; causing you to let out a throaty mewl, he proudly boasted, “Look how deep I am, how I'm in your womb.”
“Oh…” You trailed off, eyes wide with shock, as you listened to your boyfriend and looked down.
True enough, his cock was deep inside of you. You could see it protruding from your lower belly. It shocked you, mostly since you didn't know it was possible for him to be buried so deep inside of you.
“Fuck…” Coryo swore, his baritone heavy and thick with need. “You're cunt's so tight; feels so damn good around my cock.”
He tilted your chin up slightly, only to bend down and give you a kiss. A kiss that was fiery; full of passion and teeth. Pulling away, he grabbed a hold of your leg and hiked it up over his hip, only to slowly drag his cock out of your tight hole and push it back in again- starting the first movements of your fucking.
Coryo's pace was measured, but his thrusts were deep. With every move that he made, you're feeling pleasure start to bubble up inside of you. At some point, in an attempt to get him to go deeper, you hike up your other leg on his hip.
“Does my cock feel good pounding this pussy, baby? Hmm?” Coryo asked, grabbing a hold of your legs and folding them tightly into your chest. “Huh, baby? Am I fucking you good?” He asked, plunging in and out of you at a hard, fast pace.
Coryo knows, even if you don't, by the way your cunt’s twitching and clenching around his cock that you’re gonna be cumming soon. That your pussy’s fluttering cause she needs pounding; needs fucked hard and raw to drool and squirt out an orgasm.
“Yes, Coryo.” You nod, nails digging into his biceps as you feel your core ache with desire. “Yes, you're fucking me so good.”
“Your cunt's so greedy for my cock, baby.” He huskily told you. Leaning his head down, close to your ear, he whispers in a smug, but filthy tone, “Fuck, you're close again. I can feel that pussy clenching my cock, desperate to milk me dry.”
“Yea.” You desperately agree with him. Feeling the coil start to tighten in your lower belly, for the second time tonight, you plead, “Please, Coryo, make me cum again. Please.”
“Fuck, I love it when you beg for my cock like a wanton whore.” Coriolanus admitted, his tone hoarse with lust, as he looked down at you with undying desire in his blown pupils.
The only sounds in the room are your moans, the obscene sound of your wet squelching cunt, skin slapping against skin, and the creaking of your bed’s metal headboard banging against the wall as your boyfriend bends you like a pretzel. Coryo's pistoning in and out of your cunt so fast that his dog tags are starting to bounce between your chests; even smacking you in the face. Feeling bold, you grab his dog tags in your hand and pull him forward by them, only to lean up slightly and capture his lips in a needy kiss.
A kiss that you didn't even know you craved until you planted it on his lush lips.
Coriolanus let out a groan before hungrily kissing you back. Your kiss soon becomes a heated open mouth mess full of spittle trailing down your chins as he plows faster and faster into your cunt. Your lips trace over his, letting out a high pitch moan as you cum hard around his cock.
“Oh, fuck, baby. Fuck, that's so hot.” Coryo moans at the sight of you squirting, soaking his dick, thighs, and the sheets.
Coriolanus has heard of squirting, but has never seen it before. And now that he knows you're a squirter, well he loves you even more than he did before.
“Coryo, please, it's too much.” You begged, starting to feel overstimulation kick in for such an intense orgasm during your first time.
Coryo’s eyes narrowed as he snarled, “I'm not stopping and getting blue balls, Y/N. Just be a good girl and take it til I cum.”
His reaction took you aback. You honestly wasn't expecting it. You really thought that he'd pull out after you told him that it's getting to be too much for you.
“Coryo, I can't take it. It's too much; I’m too sensitive.” You try to reason with him.
But one thing you'll quickly learn is that there's no reasoning with Coryo. And that's a lesson you're learning right now.
Coryo rolled his icy eyes at you and shook his head before pausing his movements and pulling out of you. You thought that it was over, that he'd take care of himself or maybe even have you touch him, but you're wrong about that.
So wrong.
Instead, Coriolanus grabs you and roughly flips you over onto your stomach. Confused, your try to lift yourself up and look at him over your shoulder. “Coryo-” You begin to ask, only to be roughly shoved down into the mattress face first.
“Don't whine, baby.” The platinum blonde peacekeeper gruffly instruction while pulling up your hips. “I told you, Y/N, that you'll just have to take what I give you cause I'm not fucking getting blue balls tonight.” He sneered while roughly entering your oversensitive pussy in one sharp thrust.
You let out a loud cry, one that Coryo's afraid will wake up the entire neighborhood full of scumbags and gutter rats; send them running over to the sorry excuse of a wooden shack you're in. Bending down, causing the cool metal of his dog tags to brush against your bare back, he hisses right into your ear, “Shut up, bitch. We don't wanna get caught, now do we?”
Coryo didn't bother to straighten up his back. No, he just began pounding into you rough, hard, and fast. His cock was throbbing and he needed to cum. Badly. Right now he was pissed that you tried to push him off of you before he got the chance to shoot his load into your perfect, tight cunt and knock you up.
Hell, he knows you're a virgin, but he wasn't expecting you to get all whiny and panicky at overstimulation. Gods, he hopes you learn your lesson tonight when it comes to his dominance in bed- well while fucking in general cause he knows it's not going to be contained to just the bedroom.
You sobbed into your pillow, hair fanning you like a halo, and hands twisting into your sheets as Coryo pistons in and out of you at a brutal pace. You feel the tip of his cock bruising your cervix with every move he makes along with his cum heavy balls slapping against your puffy, swollen clit, making your cunt burn and ache.
“For whining about not being able to take it, your greedy lil tight cunt's clenching around my cock again.” Your boyfriend mockingky grunts in your ear, his fingers digging painfully into your hips. No doubt you'll have bruises marring them in the morning.
“Coryo…please…please…” You cried desperately into your pillow. Honestly, you're not even sure what you're begging for. Maybe some kind of relief from the intense pressure you're feeling? Yes, that has to be it.
You need relief from what you're currently feeling. The intense push-pull inside of you; the electricity coursing thru your core.
“Shut the fuck up. Damn, bitch, you want your brother to bust in here and pull me off ya ‘fore we both cum?” Coryo sneered, his deep timbre rough, heavy, and dripping with sin.
Fearing that you'd get him caught, since he had no idea if your family's home or not, he pulled you up by the nap of your neck and ordered in a whisper hiss, “Hold onto the headboard, now.”
You did as you're told, stretching your arms out and grabbing the metal rails of your headboard. Before you could even register what was going on, one of Coryo's large, calloused hands wrapped around one of yours while his other hand roughly covered your mouth- literally smothering you.
Your eyes are wide at the new position you find yourself in. Your mind’s overloaded by everything as Coryo picks up his fast, punishing pace pounding your pussy.
Everytime you try to whine or moan, your boyfriend clamps his hand down hard, muffling your cries and causing your jaw to ache. Your body's being jolted back and forth rapidly by Coryo's fast paced movements. Oh God, if you weren't bracing yourself by holding onto your bed frame your head would've been driven thru the thin wooden wall by now.
The cool metal of his dog tags dangles against your back as Coryo hunches over you, possessing your body for his pleasure. He's plowing roughly into you from behind, working both of you up to your orgasms.
He's panting and sweat’s beading his brow as he grits out, “I'm gonna cum, baby.” Feeling your cunt clamping and clenching around his cock, he orders, "You better cum too.”
One, two, three more rough thrusts and Coryo's biting into the crook of your neck, causing you to cry out a strangled sob as your final orgasm of the night hits you hard. His hand falls from your mouth and slips down to lightly squeeze your throat, as he shoots thick, hot ropes of cum deep into your cunt.
Instead of pulling out, he languidly snaps his hips; lazily fucking his seed into your womb.
“Shit, baby, think I just knocked you up?” He asks while gently strumming his thumb against the side of your throat while still keeping a loose grip around it. “You're gonna look so sexy, full and swollen with my baby.”
What the hell? He wants a baby?! Oh boy…Oh no…Oh boy…You weren't expecting to hear that. Suddenly you feel like you're sinking, that everything’s too much and you can't keep yourself afloat. Tears start to spill down your cheeks since you feel overwhelmed by everything.
Coryo stops his lazy movements and lets his now softening cock (which is still big) slip out of your abused hole. He smugly smirks as he watches a slight trickle of red tinted cum slowly falling from your cunt. His chest burns with pride as he sees the red smears on your thighs and his cock- the proof that he took your innocence. That you belong to him and only him from this moment forward.
Coriolanus realized that he pushed you too hard for your first time as he watched your body shaking with sobs. Sighing, he pries your hands off of your headboard and positions the two of you to lay on your bed under the thin blanket, your body tucked into his with your head resting on his chest.
“I know, baby. I know, it was a bit intense, but don't cry.” Coryo told you, wiping your tears away with the rough pad of this thumb. Rubbing soothing circles into the small of your back, he lovingly cooed, “You did such a good job taking what I gave, baby girl.” Pressing a kiss to your forehead, he did some damage control with a half-hearted apology of, “I'm sorry I pushed you so hard, Y/N. I just love you so much; got caught in the moment.” Softly stroking your cheek, he assured you, “I'll never do anything to purposely hurt you, my darling rose. I've just never been with a virgin before; forgot that you needed a softer touch once things got heated.”
You just nod your head and let Coryo calm you down; lull you into a dreamless sleep wrapped up in his arms.

Your brother, Rein, passed out a few feet from the door as soon as he stumbled into the house. He was so drunk on moonshine that it's a miracle he even made it home before passing out on the street. Which he's done a handful of times before.
Ashlie on the other hand was as sober as a judge and made her way to the bedroom she shares with your brother just fine. Only problem is that her bed’s pressed up against the wall that separates your bedrooms. Hell, your bed and her bed are actually against the same wall.
So, while your brother, Rein, was passed out on the floor snoring in a pile of his own drool (and most likely puke) his girlfriend, Ashlie, was stuck lying awake in bed listening to your platinum blonde peacekeeper boyfriend roughly fuck you and degrade you. It made the barmaid uncomfortable; made her feel bad for you. She feels like you deserve someone better than a peacekeeper that just views you as an easy piece of ass. So, she knows that tomorrow morning she needs to confront you about Coryo; make you a cup of bitter herb tea too- cause gods forbid you fall pregnant with Private Snow's bastard.
Except there's just one problem with Ashlie's assumption. Private Coriolanus Snow doesn't view you as an easy piece of ass; instead he views you as his soulmate. As the future mother of his children; the beautiful girl that he's going to marry and make his First Lady Snow.
To Coryo you're his girl and nothing's going to change that. Now that he's popped your cherry he's never letting you go. The devil himself couldn't tear the two of you apart.

Shatter my soul
Summary : Harry has been suffering from an addiction and y/n decides to take time for herself or based on this ask
Pairing: rockstarboyfried!Harry x reader!y/n
Warnings: Angst
A/n: this piece turned so much better than I hoped for.
My masterlist
When they decided to take time for themselves harry and y/n were in a rough spot with not only their 11 years long relationship but their entire life.
After being falsely accused and getting fired from her dream job, gave up any and all hope y/n had as she came home to her love only to find him passed out in the middle of the living room.
His cocaine addiction was getting out of hand so much that he almost died of overdose saved by y/n who decided to come home early for some reason. He swore to never touch that stuff again but there he was high off his mind as he mumbles incoherently lying on the floor a week later.
The next day after getting him sober y/n decided it was best for them to take a break to figure out themselves and their life as she can't stand by him hurting himself like that. Harry had his issues, stress eating him alive at every wake hour ,he decides it was better if he wasn't in his own mind. The cocaine he could easily get his hands on was just a massive perk for him.
It had been a month and half. Y/n got a job at a restaurant and works as a bartender at night. She moved back to her old appartment after their break up and had been doing well on her own. She missed harry a lot even though their good days were well past months she still loved him, still wanted to help him and show him that she was there for him no matter what. She just wished he was doing better too. After their first week of breakup harry had called her high as he mumbled how much he missed her and promised to be better she just hopes he kept his promise.
It was a month later when y/n was at her favourite arcade bar with her friends. The place was a little loud with drunk men drinking beers and shouting at the screens.
They were seated in a booth after a good round of beers and  fun. She was mindlessly talking with her friend klara when the bartender calls her name.
Y/n walks to the bar and the bartender points to the payphone at the corner of the room.
They still got payphones
Y/n thinks to herself as she brings the phone to her ears. The first thing she hears is a sob which sends her into alert. "Hello?" She questions and the person on the other line replies "Baby, it's me.." he sobs out making y/n quiet as he continues "I'm getting sober. It's the hardest thing I've ever had to do but I'd do anything for you baby. Just want you back, want to love on you like you deserve" he says breathing hard as y/n finds her words.
"I'm so happy to hear that H. That's what I wanted for you." Y/n says a smile breaking on her face as she tries to calm him down but he doesn't he keeps crying which makes y/n a little scared because it would've been really hard for him to be doing this alone.
Y/n should've struck by him, isn't that what their relationship should have meant. She feels incredibly guilty for walking away when things got worse but she did it wishing for the best and maybe it kinda did work out in the end and now all she wanted was to be with him and show him how much she appreciates him doing this for her.
"I'm gonna be there okay? I'm so proud of you baby" y/n says ready to hang up the phone but harry breaths out before she could "No, no i....you can't....I want you to but" y/n cuts him off in worry "what's going on H?"
"I wrote you a letter"he says and the other end is quiet as he continues.
"I wrote it so I could get everything out. I think?" He sounded so unsure his voice raspier than usual. " It should be in your apartment" he adds and y/n says she would read it and come by his place before hanging up the phone.
She bids goodbye to her friends after explaining them about the situation and then waving her off with a concerned look on their face as y/n walks back to her apartment. She goes through all her mail and finds the one harry had sent. Her name and address on the envelope.
She opens it and it had two sheets folded inside it. She didn't know what to expect as she reads through it.
My love,
Today has been particularly hard without you by my side. My manager has been pressing me for the next album but how could I think about anything but you. It had been 8 weeks since I last heard your voice and I never knew how much it filled my life untill I couldn't hear it anymore and I think maybe that's what made me want to give up the drugs even if it feels like I'm drowning. I'd do it for you.
I still remember the tears in your eyes when you told me about you ex and how mad it made me. I wanted to bury him alive for hurting you like that. I never wanted to infect any kind of pain in you. I swore I never would when I saw the lack of trust in your eyes.
It killed me to see the smile on your face slowly fading away because of me. I wanted to hold you close and tell you I'd be back. We'll get all of the good times we had together back because that was what you deserved. But I couldn't save myself not for me but for you because you are everything i have left. The only person who stood by me through it all and maybe that's what made me realise I was nothing without when you left.
I was always honest with you even when I was out of my mind i tried to explain what I was feeling. I know you blamed yourself that you couldn't help me but this was my own battle and you were the warrior in the front ready to kill anyone even though you didn't have to. You were always there for me and I'm really sorry if I wasn't baby. Because
 You deserve better than that.
You deserve someone who would be there for you.
You deserve someone who would stay true to their promises.
You deserve someone who would stay good for you.
You deserve better than me.
You deserve every happiness in this world.
She is at the end of the page her soul shattered with each word when a knock on the door pulls her out. She has a few tears falling down her cheeks. She wips them off before opening the door to find her close friend klara.
"Hey , what ar-" y/n is cut off as klara bursts "I need to tell you something"
"Oh okay, come on in" y/n opens the door wider to let her in but klara shakes her head as she continues "No, I just need to tell you this....i" she's breathless and y/n patiently waits for her to continue.
"I slept with harry" she says after a few deafening seconds which stretches to minutes after the words are out.
"It was stupid and I was drunk and it just happened. We were both out of our minds and we didn't know what was happening. I'm really sorry y/n. I didn't mean for it to happen. I'm sorry"
Y/n is still as she listens to her ramble. All of y/n's friends hated harry something about him not treating her right while he was the total opposite.  She never knew why that was but to hear her bestfriend had slept with her boyfriend of years cut deep into her poor heart and the stabs just kept coming.
"It happened a few months ago and I couldn't stop myself from going back. I didn't mean for it to happen y/n you have to believe me" klara begs her eyes welled up with tears.
Y/n couldn't stop herself from thinking how much of a fool she was for thinking all those nail marks on his shoulder, love bites on his jaw and chest were from her when she knew it wasn't. The woman's perfumes he used to smell like made her realise it wasn't just Klara. And one thought kept haunting her mind as she stands on her doorway.
Had she really been that delusional ?
A/n: I think I just broke my own heart 😭. Who wants a part 2?

"PLEASE STOP STARING," Ni-ki whined, throwing an ice cube in Jake's direction who was perched at the counter with a giddy smile. You were on the other side of the store, in the midst of barring out drinks before turning to help your coworker with a unsatisfied customer.
It was different to see you in your element, of course to you it being a mere barista job but Jake couldn't deny how much a leadership position suited you. You were good at quite literally everything, barely paying him mind when he waltzed in 20 minutes ago due to the afternoon rush but seeming calm and collected as you handled the line of drinks that seemed never ending. You looked as pretty as ever in his eyes, your haired pulled up by the clip in your hair and bare skin that seemed to be glowing.
You were called in last minute by a fellow shift as they weren't able to come in due to an emergency. Knowing Ms. Cho would've been the one to cover, something you couldn't bare to make her do as she was meant to take the week off due to spraining her wrist, and not wanting to leave Ni-ki hanging you canceled on the previous study-date you had scheduled with Jake much to his disappointment.
Lo and behold though, said boy decided that he had all the time in the world to wait for you. After you called him on your break, excited that a coworker would be coming in to do the closing tasks, telling him you'd be off at 6:30 instead of 10, Jake stopped by an hour before your shift would end deeming that allowing him to treat you to dinner would make up for the raincheck.
"Bro honestly, I know she's your girlfriend but can't you go sit down at least," Ni-ki's voice breaks his thoughts once more. Jake merely rolled his eyes, waving off the boy who looked exasperated by his presence.
"Yah, whatever. You're just bitter 'cause you’re bitchless," Jake began to tease, watching as the younger boy rolled his eyes and discretely flipped him off without the other customers taking note.
There was a familiar jingle from the door, Ni-ki's eyes looking past him to greet whoever walked in but his face turned into one of visible disgust. Immediately making his way in your direction without a word, Jake curiously turned around with his brows frowned to see what caused such a reaction.
A small scoff left Jake's lips, watching Minjun b-line to where you were behind the bar with Ni-ki glued to your side and staring him down like a guard dog. A small smirk picks at his lips, Jake waiting patiently, watching from afar to see what he planned on saying as you'd be able to handle it yourself.
"___," Minjun spoke, attempting to gain your attention but you merely lifted your gaze for a second as you focused on the drinks you had sequenced. "Can we talk?"
"I'm busy," You said dryly, sending him a pointed look as you were on shift quite literally in the middle of working. "If you need something you can ask my other staff to help you,"
"Are you seriously going to ignore me?"
"Are you seriously showing up to my job when I told you to leave me alone?" You shot back, brow raising in disbelief. "It's harassment, do you want me to call the cops?"
Minjun bit his lip, seemingly collecting his thoughts to carefully piece what he intended to say next. "You're ignoring my texts, how else am I supposed to talk to you?"
"I blocked you," You answer with a small shrug. "I don't want to talk to you. We have no reason to either way, it was your idea to move on with our lives in the first place so I don't see what you need from me now,"
"It was a mistake," Minjun attempts but a loud scoff comes from your end at his words. Feeling yourself grow more and more annoyed, you take a second to collect your thoughts, having to silently remind yourself that there were a handful of other customers that you still needed to be portrayed to in a professional light.
Your eyes flickered to the left, feeling the familiar gaze boring into your side. You met Jake's look, his brows slightly pinched as he held an unreadable expression glancing over Minjun. His arms were crossed against his chest, leaned against the front counter while his head tilted in the smallest of ways meeting your eyes. Silently indicating whether of not you wanted him to intervene, you shook your head, turning over to Ni-ki who was still on gaurd just a step behind you.
"Can you take over for me?" You ask the younger boy, his eyes softening as he glanced down to you with a small nod. Telling Sooyun the same, you leave the two on the floor to handle the customer flow and walk away from Minjun without a word. He attempted to follow along the counter that kept you separated, only to stop short noting how you met Jake at the break that separated the workers and customer side.
"You okay?" Jake asks softly, his hand finding its place in your own as he traced his thumb over your palm in attempt to offer some ease to your mind.
"I don't know why he keeps trying," You mumble out, swallowing the lump in your throat while Jake pursed his lips. You had to admit, no matter how unaffected you attempted to seem, having Minjun back and weaseling his way into your life was slowly opening up old wounds that never fully healed. It felt exhausting seeing his face, much less feeling trapped in your own workplace since that seemed to be his resort to finding you no matter how many hints you've given to leave you be.
"You want me to call the guys and we can jump him out back?" Jake offers, the teasing in his voice caused you to laugh though the glint in his eyes made it hard for you to tell if he was entirely joking. "I could take him on my own but I'm sure Jay wants a few hits at him anyway,"
"So does Ni-ki," You snicker, glancing over to the boy who had his eyes trained on Minjun with a menacing glare. "I don't have the money to bail all seven of you out though so let's not do that,"
A cocky smile fell upon Jake's lips knowing well enough his next words would cause you to grimace. "It's okay baby, I'm rich remember?"
You roll your eyes but couldn't refrain from the small laugh that fell from your lips. "You're annoying," You huff, though the giggle that filtered through your words had Jake smiling from ear to ear. Leaning closer, he's quick to place a kiss to your lips, your eyes widening as you pulled away with a tsk. "I'm on the clock, stop making me look like a bad worker,"
"No one's looking," Jake reassures, not even sparing a glance around the room but he's sure of himself. His hands fell to your hips, pulling you in closer and technically he was right, the large pastry case and stack of boxes that you had yet to be able to put away had blocked a significant amount of view of where you two stood, someone would have had to come around the corner to see you two if they really wanted to.
A clear of someone's throat caused the two of you to pull away from the giddy bubble you were in. Your annoyance flooded back in a second while Jake lazily looked over his shoulder, his eyes lighting up taking note of Minjun who stood with a dark expression.
"What's up man?" Jake smiled, turning as he said so but still keeping one arm draped around your waist though you shifted slightly in your spot. His grip tightened feeling how you attempted to move, squeezing your hip as a silent way to tell you to stay in place at his side. "You need something?"
"Can you give us a minute?" Minjun's words were short and clipped, the visible annoyance dripping from his persona.
"Don't think so," He hummed with the click of his tongue. "M'names Jake," Holding out his hand with a cheeky smile, Jake waited for Minjun to introduce himself. You had to refrain from the laugh that wanted to spill from your lips, the obviously annoying but polite tactic one you wouldn't have guessed he'd play but it seemed to work better than being possessive or immediately hostile.
"Minjun," Was all he replied with, not bothering to complete the handshake Jake intended. Turning his gaze to you, he near pleaded in a softer tone. "Can we just talk?"
Jake let out a loud sigh, dropping his hand with the shake of his head. "You know, man, I wouldn't have held nothing against you but you're really making my girl uncomfortable," His previous bubbly expression was gone, now replaced with a bored one that shamelessly glanced over Minjun. "You know me personally, I don't go for girls I broke up with, especially after she told me to leave her alone and she has a new man. That's just me though,"
"No offense man, but I know you two just got together. Your new relationship doesn't compare to us," Minjun shrugs while you let out a laugh of disbelief. You and Jake were more comfortable together, by miles, in a short amount of time even if your relationship was based on a facade. After the first two months with Minjun, it felt as though you were walking on eggshells everyday to keep him around, a feeling you remember all too well and ridicule yourself for staying in for so long.
"I mean, you're the ex for a reason right? Our relationship s’not supposed to be like yours," Jake shrugs, a humorless laugh left his lips.
"You guys don't even make sense together!" Minjun was now speaking to you, gesturing between you both with an exasperated expression. "His life is completely different from yours and you know it, why waste time now when it won't even work out,"
You frowned yours brows, not knowing how much he had looked into Jake but either way, being so ambient on your differences seemed to rub you the wrong way. What exactly was he entailing? The fact that Jake was a party guy or he was rich? You grew up attached to the hip with Jay, sure you weren't directly apart of that life but you did know how to act with a cocktail dress and dinning etiquette when you needed to. You truly lacked nothing if the relationship was real and so far, Jake didn't either.
"It's cute to know you've been thinking about me," Before you were able to voice your thoughts, Jake beat you to it. His tone was teasing, though there was a slight edge to it indicating that the cat and mouse play going back and forth was something he began to grow tired of. His had squeezed your hip, somehow subconsciously knowing that your agitation grew as well, it a silent reminder that he was there for you.
Minjun scoffed, seemingly ready to retort but Jake shook his head. "You know, I don't really like being a dick and all," He starts, a small huff of air leaving his lips as if it pained him to continue. Jake's eyes flickered to you, he winked before the bored look was sent back toward Minjun. "But I do take advantage of the benefits that come from my family. Let's just make it easier on all of us since getting the lawyers involved is always so messy, yeah?"
Your eyes widened slightly, certainly not having any thought of any legal precedent but the threat should've been more than enough to get his point across. You felt a shiver run up your spine, thinking back to weeks ago when you got yourself into the situation you were now. She totally would've sued me.
There was a clear of the throat that broke the tension between you three. Ni-ki making his presence known as he sends Minjun a rather large, but most obviously fake, smile.
"I'm afraid I'll have to ask you to leave since I've had a few customer complaints from the situation that's occurring," He says in his peppy customer service voice, the faux sympathy in his tone adding salt to the wound. Looking around, you take note of the lie considering the lobby had cleared out significantly and not a single person in sight was paying any mind to what was occurring in the corner but you were certainly thankful for the deescalation.
Minjun doesn't say a word. His eyes lock with yours, the silent communication causing you to feel uneasy. For a split second, you almost felt bad for him seeing the look of pleading sincerity, for a second he seemed like the boy you once knew and you couldn't deny the slight tug in your heart that longed for the past. But as Jakes’ hand made its presences know on your back, you shook out of the temporary daze, you subtly moved behind him, using Jake as a shield of sorts and looking away.
You weren't naive enough to fall for that. And your thoughts proved right as Minjun's expression changed in an instant, the look of anger and annoyance familiar but he merely turned and made his way out of the shop without hesitation.
The bitter feeling caused your stomach to turn, picking at the skin of your fingers as you pulled out your phone to check the time.
"You okay noona?" Ni-ki carefully asked, His brows were pinched, a slight frown at his lips taking note of your visibly discomfort.
You nod, placing a smile on your features but it didn't quite reach your eyes. You looked behind him, seeing Sooyun working by herself. "I'm alright, I need to finish my pull before Hejin comes in so support where you can for now," You delegate, already heading toward the back room while footsteps followed soon after.
Jake sighed watching you walk away. He didn't know the full story, certainly didn't want to know the details of how in love you were, but he did know that Minjun was important enough to still bother you after some time apart. A small part of him was selfish, never wanting you to think of anyone like that but him, even though your relationship wasn't even real in the first place, but he knew that was his own jealousy.
The larger part of him felt upset for you though, the crestfallen expression you held more than enough for him to want to hold you and wash all your worries away. In a perfect world, Jake would make sure you'd never feel sad again. He vows to never be the one responsible for your tears, and if he were he'd kick himself and beg for the room in your heart to forgive him.
You stopped by the back freezer, facing the stainless steel doors and you could see Jake's reflection behind you. "I'm alright," You repeat, not having the confidence to turn around knowing your eyes were glossing over and the lump in your throat grew.
Jake hummed, watching you from afar. He watched as you began to count the frozen pastries, having to go over twice losing your train of thought and seemingly looking around aimlessly. You let out a sigh, leaning your head against the frozen rack as you shut your eyes, the cold air that wrapped around your body caused goosebumps to form along your arms, though it did well in stopping the tears that were built up to the brim.
"You know, you're technically not supposed to be back here," You mumble, a hint of amusement in your words though you were rather dejected.
Jake chuckled, shaking his head while you couldn't see it. The two of you stood in silence, not knowing what to say that would make it better. Heavy footsteps sounded as someone entered the back of the house, you peaking from behind the freezer door while Jake straightened up.
Hejin pointed a finger at you as she pulled her apron over her head. Your brows frowned, clicking on the tablet that was stuck to the door to see it only be 5:50. Her keys jangled in her pocket, the lollipop in her mouth muffling her words. "Go home,"
"What?" You let out a small laugh, amused by the loud groan she let out upon her apron getting stuck while pulling it down. "It's not 6:30,"
"I'm here now so go," Hejin huffs, pulling at her ponytail as she nods towards Jake, a silent acknowledgment to his presence but not bothering to ask why he was beside you. "I saw creeps-a-lot in the parking lot. The kid and Sooyun were blowing up my phone to get me here so I chased him away. Go home and relax, I'll make a incident report to let everyone and Mama Cho know to not talk about you and refuse him service from now on,"
Your lips pull into a frown, the tears once again welding up in your eyes. You covered your face out of embarrassment, Hejin clicking her tongue as she waved you off.
"Ay, don't cry," She tuts. "He's not worth it, new boyfriend hug her!" Hejin directs, gesturing between you and Jake causing you to let out a laugh. Jake tilted his head, his arms open as you reluctantly stepped into his embrace. You refused to look at him directly, hiding behind your hands though you could see the fondness in his expression as he stared down at you. "Good, now get out of here. Pretty girls should never cry over ugly men,"
With that, Hejin was out onto the floor. You stifled your laughter, heart pulling at the thought of your work family. She, in particular, was known to be rough around the edges, not one to show praise or direct affection but small acts like these were truly the most meaningful. You made a mental note to treat them in the future, thankful for the saving grace.
Jake pulled away from the hug slight, a small smile perking at his lips as he tilted his head. He gently pulled away your hands from your face, wiping away the few stray tears with the same fond look.
"You know, I don't know how to feel about you crying over another man," He teased causing you to roll your eyes. "Guess I have a lot of work to do to make you forgive him,"
"Forgive?" You echo, raising a brow not following his words.
Jake nods. "You know, for being an idiot but at least it allowed for me and you which is like, a million times better," He says in the most obvious voice causing you to snicker. "Forgive but not forget, or whatever it is that people say,"
"Have you been looking at pinterest quotes?" You laugh while Jake begins to nod wholeheartedly.
"You put me on, it's honestly so chill scrolling. I have like, five different boards I've made so far,"
"Rookie numbers," You tease causing him to mock offense.
"They all have certain aesthetics and are listed in order," He offers causing you to hum.
You nod in approval. "Better,"
Noting that your mood had seem to raise, Jake leans in, placing a small peck to the tip of your nose causing you to let out a small squeal. Your face scrunches up, pulling away from him while he lets out a laugh.
"C'mon, you owe me your time and I think I have the perfect idea to get your pretty little mind off everything,"
"YOU’RE JOKING?"
"What?"
You sent Jake a pointed look, smiling down at the excited animal that jumped into your arms, licking the skin of your cheek while your heart nearly bursted at the sight of her tail wagging so happily. "We've been faking it for over a month and you decided to just tell me you had a dog?"
"Her name's Layla," He laughs, crouching down to the level which you were sat on the floor. As soon as you walked into the door of the unfamiliar apartment, you were greeted by soft paws jumping at your leg along with excited barks for attention. "This is my brother's place, she's a family dog but he has her most of the time since my parents are always out of town. He's on a trip with his friends so he asked me to watch her for the week," Jake cooed as he pet Laylas fur, eyes full of affection and love as she leaned into his touch.
“I’ll watch her for the week,” You smile, gaining her attention once more as you scratched at the spot just behind Laylas’ ears. Her eyes shut as you did so, a small giggle leaving your lips as the dog visibly relaxed to your petting. “I’ll keep her company while you party or whatever you do in that frat house,”
Jake rolled his eyes, his view set on you but you were far too focused on Layla to care. “I haven’t gone to a party in weeks, and if I do you’re with me,” He says pointedly as you merely hum.
“Exactly, you can go do what you want. I’ll stay here with the cutest little puppy I’ve ever seen,” The latter half of your sentence was spoken in a high voice, cooing at Layla who seemed to be happily responsive to it.
Though he liked seeing how well you got along with his childhood pet, Jake tsked. Maybe it was a bad idea bringing you to see her, all of your attention would go to the little border collie instead of him which, admittedly, he couldn’t have.
“What I want,” Jake starts, leaning over to flood your view. “Is for you to not love my dog more than me,” He finished, dangerous close to your lips as you blinked, a small snort leaving your lips.
“Well for one, I barely tolerate you so Layla wins by a long shot,” You tease causing his lips to pout. Lightly pushing Jake away, he ends up sitting directly in front of you, Layla happily pouncing into his lap but still begging for you to provide her with scratches as she rolled over onto her back to expose her stomach. “And two, you can’t be jealous over your own dog. She’s just too cute,”
Jake sighed half heartedly. “You kicking me to the curb now for my dog?”
“Precisely,” You nod, a wide grin playing at your lips that you were unable to resist. It was still between the two of you for a moment, Jake taking the silence to gently place Layla down onto the ground beside you. You rose a brow, noting how he inched closer causing you to move back. “Hey~”
His arms were suddenly thrown around your body, one around your waist while the other was behind your head, blocking the impact of him suddenly tackling you to the hardwood floor. Your laughter filled the air, arms stuck under the weight of his chest and your faces inches apart.
“Too bad, you’re not allowed to get rid of me,” Jake huffs though there was an amused smile playing at his lips. “Say you like me more,”
You gaped in disbelief. “Are you serious?” The response to your question ended up with Jake’s fingers dancing along the skin of your waist, your shirt riding up and him knowing how ticklish you were as you began to squirm beneath him. “H-hey! Okay, s-stop—”
“Say it,” Jake taunts, his laughter mixing with yours.
“O-okay—”
Layla’s loud barks suddenly broke the air before the view of her jumping onto Jake’s head was seen. Your laughs were now from seeing how he yelped at the sudden help you received, rolling off of your body and with Layla still attacking his face with an abundance of kisses, you sat up. Now straddling Jake’s waist, you returned the favor of poking your fingers into his side, moving until you found a spot by his ribs that caused him to squirm around.
“Hey! You can’t team up against me,” Jake called out, unable to move either of you due to the way you sat and how Layla was now perched on his chest to get a better angle of sloppy kisses that he attempted to block. “She’s trying to lick my nose! Baby please—”
“What? I’m giving you attention like you wanted,”

You were not in the best mood and it showed.
The people who woukd usually greet and talk to you seem to avoid you because you looked like you didn't want to be bothered. If the look on your face didn't give it away, your hastened pace and rigid body language absolutely did.
See, you weren't having a bad day. You were actually on the verge of an emotional breakdown. It all started about a week ago when your group of friends talked about going for a night out, bar hopping or clubbing or something and they talked over you completely. One person actually had the decency to ask your opinion directly while the others only said things like 'oh she wouldn't like that' 'that's so not (y/n)' 'she'd just be in the corner being a bummer' and more. While you do realize they were just joking around and trying to be funny, it hurt you that they'd just talk FOR you. Sure, you really didn't like their plans but it HAD been a while since all of you met up and hung out.
So imagine your surprise to see your friends posting a picture of their drinks on their social media accounts.
You stood frozen in the middle of the grocery store when you saw one of their Instagram stories and you even had to sit in a corner as you scroll through your group chat that had been practically dead for 2 days, wanting to see if you missed any updates because as far as you know, they were only talking about a plan and not making actual plans. Now you know why those bitches were so fucking silent.
"Well, well, well, if it isn't 703," Wooyoung called, snickering to himself as he sidled up next to you who was waiting for the elevator. Usually, you wouldn't mind the younger guy because you had been used to his voice. How can you not? The first day you saw him was when he moved in for college. You had just finished your first week of internship and he had accidentally bumped into you. Literally, he dropped a thermos on your foot which prompted you to cry in front of a very confused and panicked 17 year old Wooyoung. Though he was unsure, he sat his boxes aside and just sat there while listening to you rant about how he shouldn't grow up, get out of college, and just go back to his parents' house because working and being independent was so overrated. Rather than focusing on how you were spewing your guts to a complete stranger, Wooyoung was more focused on why a 20 year old sounded like she had gone through 4 divorces and a public scandal.
It was odd how you were able to be vulnerable with him and it was even more odd to find him in front of your door that night with two packs of ramyeon and a huge grin on his face. He confessed he had bothered approximately every apartment on floors 1-6 and half of floor 7 looking for you because he wanted to make sure you were okay. You should've been embarrassed that a guy who's practically a child had to come and comfort you but you didn't. He made you feel comfortable.
Unlike now.
"Go away Wooyoung, I'm not in the mood," you sighed, shifting the grocery bags in your hands slightly. Wooyoung didn't listen, however, instead, he leaned his shoulder on the wall and ducked his head to meet your eyes which you avoided, "I thought you would've been busy with your friends tonight or something. I had to rethink of a new plan to make a move on you!" He teased.
The mention of your friends and hanging out, your blood boiled and your grip on the grocery bags tightened. "Wooyoung," you warned, jaw tightening as you felt your eyeballs burn. "I'm just saying, I thought my sexy little noona would've been out and about," he grinned innocently (despite the words he used).
You dropped your grocery bags and turned around, making way to the stairs. "Whoah, wait!" Wooyoung grabbed your hand and turned you around, "What's wrong?" He said with furrowed eyebrows, genuinely confused as to why you acted that way. He was even more confused when you yanked your hand off his grip and saw tears welling in your eyes.
"You can seriously shove whatever it is you think of me down your throat, Wooyoung," was all you said before you trodded upstairs to your floor.
It was a mistake for you to do that because once you finally made it, you were panting and the blurriness in your eyes was not only caused by your tears but also from the exercise. So you weren't sure if the sight of Wooyoung in front of your apartment was real or a hallucination. He even had your groceries in his hands.
"Go home, Woo," you sighed, sniffling as you fumble for your keys in your bag. This time he wasn't as vocal, only shrugging until you opened your door and slipped in together with you despite your clear expression of annoyance but you still let him in. You both were silent as you removed your shoes and settled your things, Wooyoung helping put things away which was how he noticed you buying your favourite cereal and milk, a comfort "dinner" for whenever you felt like your life was on the verge of tipping into pure chaos and you just don't have any time and energy to give a fuck about crap like dinner. "I'm not going to entertain you, Woo," you stated, voice cracking slightly as tears welled up in your eyes again all the while you tried to busy yourself by putting things away.
You hadn't noticed it initially but when you turned to kick him out again, you saw him with a bowl of your cereal and a soft smile on his face. "If what you need is me out, then I will go but not until I see you eat," he stated, putting the bowl on your counter and sauntering over to pull you so he could sit you down to eat.
In your head, you knew how ashamed you were for needing Wooyoung who's around 3 years younger than you to take care of you. But it felt nice to be tended to for once. Amongst your friends who were around the same age as or older than you, you were always expected to keep things together because they don't really have the time or energy to deal with what they labelled as "personal bullshit". Or maybe they're just a bunch of bitches dressed in fake prada and cheap jewellery that were slowly turning green with each wear. Wooyoung had once expressed how he doesn't like your friends because of what they were saying about you to your face even in front of him who was a stranger to them but they didn't seem to care. Heck, they seem to enjoy being annoying, catty bitches.
Thinking that you weren't going to eat in front of him, Wooyoung smiled and squeezed your hand once before turning to leave but this time, you stopped him. You grabbed him by the arm and with quivering lips, you looked up at him, "D-do you think y-you can accompany me eat on the couch? I-I think I'm gonna need company," you asked.
Without hesitation, Wooyoung nodded and pulled you into a gentle and warm hug. "Can this 'company' include watching A Man Called Otto? Because San watched it without me and he cried so I wanted to know if the movie was really THAT sad or if he was just being a bitch," he pulled away just as he heard you chuckling and felt you nodding, "Only if you have a bowl of cereal with me."
As you watched Wooyoung busy himself with getting his own bowl of cereal and making both of you comfortable on your couch, you realized that it was stupid of you to have been upset to be left behind by your supposed friends. Sure, it sucks to be singled out and heard how your friends make you sound so lame. But honestly? Being in your own home with Wooyoung loudly commenting about the movies as you spoon cereal and milk into your mouth, you wouldn't have it any other way.

Everlark (Catching Fire, Ch. 24-25)
katniss being angry that peeta hasn't come to help her before she realises he literally can't
peeta putting his hand up against the wall and her putting hers up to meet him. these two are so angsty romance-coded
"i just stare at his face, doing my best to hang onto my sanity"
peeta holding and rocking katniss on his lap, lifting her chin so she looks at him. husband. he loves her so much.
(as an aside, johanna and finnick basically being katniss's and peeta's older siblings is so adorable. what a cute fun brokem damaged little family)
when katniss finds out that finnick loves a "poor, mad girl back home", i can't not think of the parallels being set up between annie/finnick and peeta/katniss in the next book
ah the beach scene
"everything. that's what peeta wants me to take from him"
"i realize only one person will be damaged beyond repair if peeta dies. me"
"i do. i need you"
i'm dead at this point. how can people say katniss didn't love peeta. i got the evidence right here!
So before he can talk, I stop his lips with a kiss. I feel that thing again. The thing I only felt once before. In the cave last year, when I was trying to get Haymitch to send us food. I kissed Peeta about a thousand times during those Games and after. But there was only one kiss that made me feel something stir deep inside. Only one that made me want more. But my head wound started bleeding and he made me lie down. This time, there is nothing but us to interrupt us. And after a few attempts, Peeta gives up on talking. The sensation inside me grows warmer and spreads out from my chest, down through my body, out along my arms and legs, to the tips of my being. Instead of satisfying me, the kisses have the opposite effect, of making my need greater. I thought I was something of an expert on hunger, but this is an entirely new kind.
the idea of peeta trying to talk despite katniss kissing him and then just giving up is too much
the warmth that grows inside of her exclusively due to peeta
the line about a new kind of hunger. bars
she's so down bad for him, and i think she truly realises here, even if she doesn't let herself think about it too much.
finnick waking up and realising the way they're wrapped around eachother and being like... "um get a room? if you want?" is hilarious too
i truly wonder how far they would've gone if they hadn't been interrupted by the lightning bolt. judging by katniss saying there's nothing to stop them this time but them, i think she might've not stopped at all. and the wrapping around each other. i know they were about to cut away in the capitol feeds.
peeta again being husband and making katniss lie down and leading her to bed. "i let him lead me over to where the others are." the "i let him." this books is just a masterpiece in showing the change in their dynamics.
lol at katniss being like "fuck no" at the suggestion of having kids with gale. "for one thing, that's never been part of my plan." like how much clearer has she got to make it. contrasting this to when peeta dropped the baby bomb and she was like: it could be true by now if it wasn't for the games, right? she's so shameless
i honestly feel like crying every time katniss says she thinks of peeta's child safe in the meadows. the fact that it's just peeta's child makes me think that the unnamed, unidentified unspoken of mother, is her. like that's who she's picturing in this fantasy, in this dream.
"when i wake, i have a brief delicious feeling of happiness that is somehow connected with peeta" and she clings to it as long as she can
just something so beautiful that all this talk of love and family and peace and the future is linked with peeta and thus her own happiness. like my heart aches for her.
she can't look at peeta the next morning after their kissing the night before. i think a big part of it was because she just allowed herself to think all these thoughts involving peeta and then came back down to earth very quickly and realised that this wasn't possible for her because of the QQ
the pearl, their inside joke because of effie! the fact they remembered, the fact that they laugh together like this even with everything going on
katniss determining that peeta is her biggest enemy because their desires are the complete opposite when it comes to survival. "i promise myself i will defeat his plan." and even despite them both realising they're at odds, despite peeta not being able to look at her after, they sit together hand in hand.
the pearl and everything it comes to symbolise with these two kills me.

Learning to Love Part 9
Tumblr media
Pairing: Rafe Cameron x FemReader!PlusSize
Warnings: 18+, langauge, angst, fluff, mentions of bullying, body image issues, fat shaming, fake relationship, eventual smut, minor enemies to lovers trope.
Summary: It's not uncommon for you to be shamed for your size, it is however uncommon to be told that no one would ever date you because of it. Rafe on the other hand is used to being called a jerk, that is until he is accused of seeing people for only what's on the surface. It's purely coicidental you two meet right after these accusations are thrown your way. So even though you two don't know each other, and probably never would've looked the others way before this, now you're both going to prove a point. It's simple really, prove others wrong and don't fall in love. Easier said than done.
word count: 2.3k

Tumblr media
You’re not entirely sure where you are when consciousness reaches you. All you know is your head is pounding, there’s a hand around your waist, and your phone is louder than it has ever been. Blindly reaching for it you find the object vibrating against the night stand before grabbing it and pulling it to your ear.
“Hello?” you groan out, your voice sounding too loud even.
“Where are you? The bar is opening in twenty minutes and Randy has the day off. It’s a Sunday, I cannot work this shift without you” Mila’s words sober you up in an instant and you shoot up in the bed, the hand on your waist falling off.
“Shit, okay I’m on my way” you tell her before hanging up. That’s when you realize you’re naked. Bare as the day you were born and it has your head swiveling to spot the just as naked man beside you.
“Fuck” you whisper out and quickly rush to grab your things. Rafe doesn’t even flinch which proves he was just as drunk as you. Only bits and pieces of the night was still there but if you had to guess, you had sex with Rafe.
You stumble into the bathroom, shutting and locking the door before turning the shower on. You look like hangover and smell like sex, and were definitely going to be late for work. So you shower in record time, using majority of the tiny shampoo and conditioner the hotel provided. You accept your hair will be a mess when the comb provided barely pulls through your wet hair. It’s then you realize you have to pull your dress on from last night and embark on the walk of shame once again.
“Rafe, I have to go” you poke the boy after you’re dressed. He’s laid in bed but he doesn’t even react to your touch. Shoving him a few more times you plead. “I’m going to be late for work”
A low groan came from his mouth before rolling over and revealing his bare ass to you. You gasp out and turn away, accepting he wasn’t going to be moving anytime soon. So you grab your purse and order the uber you remember wanting last night. Once in the lobby you see your ride already waiting and rush to it before people can recognize you’re wearing what you had on the night before.
Tumblr media
Sighing it’s not long until you pull up to the bar that is just about to open for lunch hours. Before any customers can arrive you rush in to find Mila working feverishly behind the bar to set up today’s workload. She barely realizes you’re there until you step behind the bar and go to enter the kitchen and find your office.
“Maybe we should start packing overnight bags for work parties” she teases and you rolls your eyes, in search of coffee and food.
“What’s the fun in that?” you tell her before slipping into the kitchen and ignoring the looks your employees gave you. Once locked in your office you find the spare set of work clothes packed away and quickly change. When you swing your door back open, Eddie the head chef is standing in front of it with coffee and a bagel.
“You might need this” he says and you take it with a smile, thanking him, even though you are now morbidly embarrassed for doing the walk of shame in front of people you had to lead.
“Gonna tell me about last night?” Mila asks once you’re back behind the bar, a quarter of the bagel already stuffed in your mouth.
“If I can remember it, sure” and she gasps at you and that’s when you’re hit with the memory of the elevator ride. Rafe’s hands on your hips and how he had squeezed your ass. Mila watches as realization crosses your face. “Oh God”
“Okay, now you have to tell me” she says and more floods back, him pulling you into the room. How he had undressed you and how good his hands and mouth had felt all over you. How you had pulled his pants down so eagerly. How he had his head inbetween your legs.
“Damnit, we had sex” and Mila doesn’t understand your disappointment before letting out a squeal and jumping up and down like a school girl.
“This is so great!” she squeaks, coming to squeeze your arms but then she catches the forlorn look painted on your face.
“Mila I barely remember it and on top of that what if he didn’t like it and I was too drunk to notice” you pout and she rolls her eyes before crossing her arms.
“Of course he liked it, I mean what did he say this morning” and you give her a sheepish look that has her gasping out loud.
“You snuck out on him!” she gives your arm a quick whack and you yelp before holding where she hit you.
“It wasn’t like that, you called freaking out and I couldn’t get him to wake up. I was already running late so I just called an uber and sent him a text explaining why” Mila was burying her face in her hands and groaning at her silly best friend. She didn’t care if she was late if it meant her best friend was finally comfortable enough to be with another man.
“That don’t matter, you snuck out after he slept with you. Now he thinks you regret it” Mila tells you and the realization dawns on you. You did sneak out like he was just some one night stand which is so not true.
“Fuck” you groan before leaning on the counter and dropping your head into your arms. You had been in love with Rafe this entire time and you always thought he’d be the one to screw it up. Not you.
“Listen, don’t lose all hope. I’ll see if Randy can come in and you just go and see him” Mila says as she pulls out her phone to already text Randy and beg him to come in on his day off. He would more than likely say yes, Mila had that kind of effect on people.
“I don’t know what to say to him. Hey glad we slept together, don’t take me sneaking out as I didn’t like it” you wished more than anything that you could tell her the truth right now. That it was never real, the relationship was fake and you were the one stupid enough to catch feelings and sleep with the guy. Any chance of keeping him for real was now long gone.
“No, just say you didn’t want to leave but had an emergency here. Once everything was covered you made sure to come back and see him” she says setting a reassuring hand on your back and you sigh.
“I don’t know why I just don’t think sometimes” you groan and she presses her lips together as she gives you a quick hug.
“It’s new to you, trusting someone like that. Just explain that to him” she says and you can only smile at your dearest friend, the one who has always been there for you. Loved you no matter your size.
“Thanks Mila” you tell her and she grins, squeezing you closer, and for once you realize that even if Rafe does break your heart at least you have the best friend in the world to help pick up the pieces.
It takes Randy only an hour to get to your shift and by then you’re in full panic mode. Rafe still hadn’t texted you back and to you that was a sign that he was mad. Whether it was about you sneaking out or the fact he slept with you, you weren’t sure. It was scary either way. Which is why you rush into his condo entrance in a rush.
“Miss Y/N, so glad to see you” the doorman Robert says to you. Rafe had made sure he knew who you were so you’d have no issues getting to his floor.
“Yeah you too Robert, hey do you know if Rafe is home?” you ask, a bit panicked, and knowing your eyes darting around the lobby made it look like something bad happened.
“I’m sorry hun but I haven’t seen him, figured he had a rough night at that party. That’s how it usually goes” he says and you somehow manage to crack a smile.
“That’s true, thanks Robert” you tell him and he nods as you rush back out of the condo complex and back to Mila’s car that she let you borrow. You know Rafe wasn’t still at the hotel, that wasn’t his style. So you set off in the direction of his work, knowing only he would find time to finish work on a Sunday.
Getting into Rafe’s building is much more difficult than the condo. Yet thankfully the woman at the front desk recognizes you and you assume only for being shocked to see you with Rafe in the first place. By the time you’re in the elevator you’re freaking out, unsure of what to say to him as you reach his now empty work floor. Heading towards his office you see his office has the door cracked open. Yet before you push it fully open, a familiar voice stops you.
“Can’t believe you’re still with that girl” you freeze against the door, heart thumping wildly. You lean forward to see those perfect long legs crossed and revealing too much thigh in the tight pencil skirt. If the voice wasn’t a dead giveaway, the blond hair sure as hell was. AJ.
“Come on AJ, she’s a sweet girl. You gotta know that by now” Rafe’s familiar voice envelopes you and your heart instantly slows. It’s in this moment you realize it wasn’t the alcohol that convinced you to trust him last night. You already did. He knew you, and you weren’t afraid anymore to let him see that.
“Well of course I do Rafe, that doesn’t change the fact she’s a big girl” yes you had judged AJ for her looks, because she was perfect. Yet with how nice she had been to you, you didn’t expect this.
“Well obviously AJ, she is a big girl but she’s got a big heart to match. It’s not always about the looks” Rafe’s defense has you calming down but it doesn’t change the fact you’re hearing a conversation you didn’t want to be apart of. Hearing how he didn’t find you attractive.
“But isn’t it? I mean you of all people would never date a big girl, hell based on the way you throw me around the bedroom I’m surprised you’re even still with her” and there’s the kicker, the pierce in your heart. Rafe was still sleeping with AJ. This whole time. Sneaking around with the perfect skinny blonde girl just to be able to deal spending time with you.
“Listen, I have never been attracted to big girls-” but you don’t want to hear anymore. You don’t want to hear about all the ways AJ was so much better than you and you had let Rafe sleep with you when all along he was sleeping with her. So as the silent tears stream down your face you rush away before you hear any of the vile things Rafe has to say. Thing was, you didn’t hear the best part.
“But I don’t know why! I mean AJ, she’s so beautiful. All of the time, and her laugh, it makes my heart flutter everytime. If I could make her laugh forever I would. I spent so long thinking there was this ideal standard of a girl to be with and up until now I realize that isn’t true. It’s not about looks. No one is truly beautiful until you love them for all the pieces that make them who they are. I don’t think I’ve ever been in love until now” Rafe is grinning by the time he’s done talking and AJ chuckles.
“Well would you look at that, Rafe’s gone all soft” and Rafe is rolling his eyes at one of his oldest friends. Someone he never truly loved like that either.
“I guess that’s just what happens when you meet the right one” Rafe tells her and AJ shrugs before sitting up.
“Well softie, don’t work too hard. It’s Sunday and I know that’s the tux you wore to the party last night. I’ll see you in the morning” AJ says as she uncrosses her legs and pushes the chair back. Rafe watches as she leaves the office and smiles with his mind still on you.
That’s when his phone finally buzzes to life on his desk, the charger connected to his computer finally providing power to text you back after this morning. He was a little hurt you weren’t there, but it was you. He knew you had good reason. Which is true when he is met with the text you had sent him this morning. Before he can respond though, another one comes through.

Q&A things, here we go:
this is joe's first time in philly
joe said his life has changed immensely and that it's so nice to have a character that's so loved, it's beyond what he could have ever imagined
joe knew the eddie book was going to come out, he's on board with it, is involved with it, is excited about it but doesn't know much else
for the most epic theme song for his life, joe chose heroes by david bowie
joe just sat and waited for is passport to be found, didnt go "through hell" like the moderator suggested
if eddie got a spin-off, joe asked if it could be with chrissy and thinks they'd be a good duo
when asked what crimes their characters would be fighting, joe said he thinks eddie would take it very seriously (whereas grace mentioned she thinks it'll be scooby-doo funny and they'd solve nothing)
joe on eddie: eddie represents the outsider and is on the fringes of society and becomes a hero, it's brave to be different and brave to be yourself.
joe watched the peep show whilst filming st4
joe has not seen are you being served
joe mentioned set shenanigans, said it was funny to see grace in a harnes just hanging there
he mentioned how natalia is good a photoshop again
joe starts filming gladiator 2 next month and doesnt know if he's allowed to use his own accent
joe wants to use his own accent for gladiator 2
about eddie becoming kas, joe said no one has called him, but theoretically it could happen - probably won't, but it could
joe got to pick all the eddie tattoos himself, and he just picked the ones he thought looked good
when he picked the bats he didnt realize his demise
he was wearing pink socks, idk, felt like i should mention
joe's stepdad was a camera man, his mum worked in tv promotion, so joe would go into work with them and see that it was the most extraordinary place, he wanted to be a part of that
joe says you need good stamina for theater, and that you don't get paid well for doing theater
joe's scared to do a shakespeare play bc 'we all know how they end'
grace said joe should be used to dying by now
joe's never going to get used to seeing his face on so many things but he loves the creativity
joe is happy so many people have the eddie guitar, but doesnt feel like a rockstar (he did when filming that scene, but thats it)
joe loves all the heartfelt letters he receives, feels that it's more than something physical
Joe likes F Scott Fitzgerald
would love to play in something set in the 1920 bc he wants to be a flapper girl
joe had a cheesesteak for dinner last night
joe thinks eddie wouldnt have gotten into college, but instead would have been a rockstar - eddie would have made it
also said that eddie and chrissy would've been friends
joe has played DnD once, and we've all seen it, said he'd like to play again
asked for a bar recommendation from the moderator, bc why not, you know?
(big massive fat thanks to @jo-harrington who sent me live updates throughout the whole thing)

seoul cafe, 12:13 pm.
WARNINGS ; alcoholic tendencies, mentions of cheating (4.4k)
Tumblr media
jang wonyoung met aeri uchinaga when she was thirteen years old.
the japanese girl had transferred schools near wonyoung's main residence in gangnam a week before high school started. wonyoung had known the girl before she had seen her face, hearing the hushed whispers that spread about her next-door neighbors.
she knew of aeri's father and the alcoholic tendencies that lingered whenever his child wasn't around, bumbling around local bars like a crying for help until his next project had made him forget about his wife and her affairs.
she had seen him briefly on the first day of school, waving at a black cadillac escalade, waiting for it to disappear before bursting into tears.
wonyoung wondered whether her mom had felt the same way when she had found out, but the athlete doubted it.
the older woman was heartless.
the young uchinaga was accompanied by her mother that day, and wonyoung couldn't help but realize the striking resemblance between the two when she first met aeri.
the young uchinaga had gotten her scowl from her mother, and it was almost etched permanently on aeri's face until she had met yoo jimin and baek alexandra. their eyes, though soft and bright, held a malice to the world that no one could seem to break. aeri had also inherited her mother's cadence, their voices nearly indistinguishable if not for her slightly happier tone.
but although aeri had gotten her physical appearance from her mother, she had gotten her personality from her dad. unlike her mother's rough interior, the seventeen-year-old was soft-spoken in an almost vulnerable way. it was almost like the young heiress was desperate to be seen for once, just like every other person in wonyoung's school.
aeri was surprisingly shy when the two met, and held a gentle but comforting smile the entire time (which was nothing like the rumors that had already managed to spread through the school during the first week).
wonyoung could see through her, just like she could see through all her classmates.
behind all the money, the cars, and the luxury bags was a child who didn't understand what was going on. she didn't understand the stares that followed her down the hall, or the whispers that seemed to hang in the air once she entered a room.
her eyes told the entire story that she refused to show.
aeri uchinaga was just as scared as jang wonyoung was.

minjeong didn't understand why y/n was so nervous.
the younger girl tried to not make it obvious, and any other person would've missed the fact that the young actress was wiping her sweaty hands on her cashmere sweater, but kim minjeong wasn't any person.
kim minjeong was y/n's.
"unnie," y/n looked over to the girl beside her, waiting for the elevator to ding open. "you don't have to go if you don't want to."
she watched the numbers go up, listening to the younger girl's soft voice. the bright numbers halted at floor three (minjeong's favorite number).
"i want to." minjeong hummed, a constant buzzing invading her stomach.
y/n could only swallow down her nerves.
"are you sure?"
she didn't understand why wonyoung had explicitly asked for minjeong and at the time, y/n had been too excited to think about the outcome that was most likely going to happen. all she could think about was seeing wonyoung and her perfect smile.
y/n could feel a fluttering feeling in her chest, and she didn't know whether it was anticipation or excitement.
"y/n." minjeong hummed, the elevator sliding open. "we're already here. there's no turning back now."
"okay." y/n trusted minjeong, almost more than anyone in the world. "thank you again."
the two stepped out as the older girl gave y/n a warm, loving smile.
"no problem." minjeong elbowed her slightly, the cold air of the a/c dusting a blush on her cheeks. "you know i'd do anything for you."
y/n couldn't help but smile back. minjeong was one of the very few people who could ease her mind. she was the older sister that y/n had always wished for.
y/n walked passed the sign that hung 'seoul cafe', bowing politely at the workers and staff as she made her way to the balcony. she had never been to this part of gangman before, but she could tell from the smell of freshly ground beans (and the fact that choi sooyoung was sitting in the corner) that it was an intimate place, one that very few, very influential people frequented.
(minjeong was too busy ogling the prices as they passed the counter. 7000 won for an iced americano was absurd.)
the younger girl slid the door open, watching as wonyoung's head whipped around faster than she had ever seen before. behind her, minjeong stuttered back, her eyes trained on the two girls in front of her.
minjeong wanted to yell, or cry. she wanted to berate y/n for even being around wonyoung, to tell her that the volleyball player probably screwed her up in the head that she'd still be willing to interact with her, but her vocal cords seemed to stop working the moment she saw a pair cat-like eyes boring into hers.
"y/n!" y/n couldn't help but smile as the taller girl stood up. "hi."
minjeong glared at the girl before her eyes snapped back to the uchinaga.
"hey wonyoung." y/n could feel herself blush. she turned to the older girl, bowing down slightly. "aeri-sunbaenim."
y/n grabbed minjeong's arm, dragging her gently to the two unoccupied seats at the rounded glass table.
"aeri-unnie is fine." aeri smiled before pursing her lips. "hey minjeong."
y/n glanced at minjeong, before meeting wonyoung's bright eyes.
"aeri-unnie." minjeong could feel her heart bursting. she needed to get out of her. fast. "what are you doing here?"
aeri's irises sparkled against the harsh seoul daylight, her eyes lazily scanning y/n before looking back at the girl seated beside her.
"we're going to get lunch." aeri smiled, minjeong's stomach suddenly churning in anxiety.
minjeong could care less about her financial situation. all she knew was that aeri was up to something, and with a single sentence, minjeong would be reduced to nothing.
she can't do that, not after everything minjeong had sacrificed.
y/n looked over to the old girl, taking no notice of wonyoung's unabashed staring. minjeong was in clear distress, and y/n knew that out of all of them, she was the only one on a scholarship, making use of her financial aid as much as she could.
"i'll pay for you, unnie."
minjeong could feel her ears turn red, aeri humming as wonyoung slid over a menu.
"like hell." minjeong was going to treat y/n the way she deserved, nothing like wonyoung or jimin. "let me pay for you. i'm the older one."
"unnie, you were literally complaining to minju-unnie about how you spent too much money last time." y/n rolled her eyes, remembering the comments that minjeong slipped in between bites of her food days ago. "let me pay."
wonyoung looked between the two, frowning at the ugly feeling she got in her chest whenever minjeong was near the younger girl.
"that's because it was me." minjeong reasoned. "you're different."
minjeong always had a habit of spoiling her, even when it wasn't warranted. she wouldn't have minded if it was every so often, but it seemed like every outing the two had, minjeong would always find a way to pay.
y/n hated feeling indebted to her best friend.
"are you two close?" aeri asked, taking a sip of her water.
wonyoung looked between them, biting her tongue.
"me and minjeong-unnie?" y/n looked at the girl beside her, the older girl picking on the power button of her phone. "yeah, she's my closest friend."
aeri hummed, her eyes settling on minjeong.
"i see."
y/n nodded, taking a glimpse at wonyoung who sat quietly beside her. she couldn't help but smile, finding the taller girl so pretty under the beaming sunlight.
she knew that wonyoung always thought she was prettiest on the court - displaying her talent for everyone to see - or on the walkway, and she was pretty. but to the older girl, wonyoung was the most beautiful when she was illuminated in the sun, barefaced like the early mornings they spent together.
wonyoung ripped her gaze away from the laminated sheet, glancing at the girl beside her. she smiled lightly, and y/n could feel her cheeks heat up.
y/n had always been enticed by wonyoung's eyes. the taller girl thought nothing special of them. they were a boring shade of brown, just like everyone else's. she didn't have any striking features like her former captain's sharp, feline-like eyes, nor a striking color that made her stand out.
but y/n loved them, because everything was pretty about wonyoung. she loved every part of the athlete, every scratch, every burn, every sprain, and every tear.
y/n loved - loves - jang wonyoung.
y/n tore her eyes away, suddenly finding the table in front of her interesting.
oh god. she still loves jang wonyoung, she's never stopped.
minjeong looked at the menu in front of her, wiping her palms on her jeans. she looked back at aeri, the older girl looking between her and y/n.
"y/n, order." she slid the menu towards her. the sooner they ate, the sooner they would leave. "don't worry about the price."
aeri leaned back, watching the interaction intensely.
"how long have you two been friends?"
minjeong pursed her lips. aeri was as relentless as the first day she met her.
"since the end of senior year." y/n answered briefly, her head automatically turning to the girl on her left.
wonyoung was just so pretty.
"hey, wonnie?"
wonyoung looked at her, eyes wide and glinting in the light. y/n could feel her heart stop, and there was no more denying that it was always jang wonyoung.
y/n was always wonyoung's.
"yeah?"
y/n smiled and wonyoung swore she just saw an angel. "what are you getting?"
wonyoung hummed, looking at the menu before she pouted. y/n bit the side of her cheek, trying her hardest not to smile.
"i want the crepe but it's too big."
"we can split." her voice was soft, despite the pounding in her heart. "i can pa-."
"it's okay!" wonyoung rushed out, her ears bright red. she wanted to get down on her knees and thank god at that very moment. "i'll pay."
"what?" y/n shook her head. "no, you already paid for my groceries last time."
wonyoung stared at her blankly.
"but i wanna pay."
y/n stared back, not noticing aeri's knowing smile directed at the two.
"but i wanna pay."
"we can just get the crepe, y/n." minjeong butted in, trying not to get irritated at the display in front of her. "since i'm paying already."
wonyoung blinked, glaring out into the streets of gangnam. she knew if she glanced even once at minjeong, she would burn a hole into her head.
"oh." y/n nodded. "that works too."
aeri looked at minjeong, the older girl's eyes scanning her annoyed face. she wasn't good at reading people, but it didn't take a phd to know that minjeong was a bit too overprotective.
she bit back a sigh. jimin always got herself into complicated situations.
"wonyoung wants the crepe." aeri watched as minjeong's face fell. "i'm sure you two can split."
wonyoung nodded, beaming happily as she turned to y/n.
"i want to pay."
y/n wanted to say no. she wanted to tell wonyoung that she didn't need to spend money on her, and although she never felt like she owed the athlete anything, she wanted to give wonyoung everything that she was capable of offering.
wonyoung looked at her, brown, glistening eyes full of anticipation.
"okay." god, why did wonyoung have to be so cute? "you win."
wonyoung bit the tip of her tongue, smiling down at the menu that reflected the harsh light from above. she could feel her heart against her chest, beating loudly as she tried not to squeal.
no matter how long it had been - how undeserving she was of her - wonyoung would always feel the same for y/n.
wonyoung stood up, scurrying to the counter as she tried to recount all the food that the others had wanted (blueberry crepe for her and y/n, green tea tiramisu and ratatouille for aeri, and carbonara for minjeong). the faster she ordered, the faster she could go back to her table and sit next to y/n.
the volleyball player sat down, ears red as y/n smiled at her.
the four stayed quiet for a minute or two, each of them admiring the view from below.
aeri watched as people interacted while she listened to the dull hum of the busy streets. it was relaxing, breaking away from the chaos of their daily lives for a moment of peace.
but aeri was here on a mission, and she knew better than to let happiness consume her.
"minjeong." aeri called out to the unsuspecting girl, ignoring the barista that seemingly popped out of nowhere. "i haven't seen you around in a while. did something happen?"
y/n watched her best friend's eyes widen, gripping her phone like her life depended on it.
"what?" minjeong bowed slightly to the girl in the apron as she set down her food, eyes familiar, but not enough for her to strike up a conversation. "no, nothing happened. i'm just... busy."
aeri looked her up and down.
"okay."
she was an uchinaga. perhaps she was much like her dad, too trusting and gullible with the people she loved, but she was her mother's daughter, and she could spot guilt from a mile away.
minjeong watched as aeri turned her focus to her food, her stomach suddenly feeling queasy.
aeri turned to the girl across from her.
"y/n, right?"
she wasn't dumb. she knew who l/n y/n was. if she were to ask anyone on campus about the younger girl, they would've all said the same answer.
but initial appearances were never the truth. aeri knew that well.
"yeah?"
"you're really pretty." aeri hummed, watching as y/n's cheeks grew a shade darker. wonyoung pursed her lips, looking blankly at her senior. "how come i've never seen you around before?"
"oh, um..."
y/n looked at wonyoung, and a pit settled in her stomach. she knew that face, lips taut, eyes glossed over. it was a gaze that wonyoung held that was once for her.
it was jealousy.
"she's busy too." minjeong answered for the younger girl.
she watched as wonyoung's eyes softened, guilt and shame running through them. wonyoung always used to blame herself for getting jealous.
it was no different this time.
"hmm..." aeri tapped her cheek, not exactly satisfied with that answer. "okay."
maybe it was too late.
she couldn't blame either of them. wonyoung was perfect, and y/n had searched far and wide for someone who could be her jang wonyoung, but no one could compare. as for aeri, she was an uchinaga. she was beautiful, rich, and everything that everyone wanted to be.
y/n just wished she could be wonyoung's y/n again.
"unnie." y/n whispered upon hearing soft tapping next to her. "your food's gonna get cold."
"yeah," minjeong looked up, smiling despite her furrowed eyebrows. "just give me a second."
y/n looked over, trying to see what was more important than food to minjeong, but the older girl turned her phone off, placing it under her thigh before looking back up.
"who were you texting?" y/n wondered if it was minjeong's roommate who had been trying to hook up with her the past week. "is it your girlfriend?"
minjeong rolled her eyes, ignoring the obvious teasing from the younger girl.
"did yuri tell you that?"
aeri looked at y/n curiously. she glanced at minjeong, her eyes shining with happiness as the younger girl continued to ask her about her roommate, grinning as she winked at the older girl.
aeri had to admit. jimin always had a thing for pretty girls.
but then again, jimin also had a thing for complicated girls.
"are you single, y/n?" aeri took a sip of her water, watching as wonyoung's head whipped to face the girl on her right.
minjeong rolled her eyes. "not yet."
"unnie." y/n smacked the older girl's shoulder. she was probably right, but she had just met aeri less than an hour ago and there was no need to air everything out about aeri's roommate.
minjeong shrugged, taking a bite out of her food as aeri eyed y/n across from her.
the uchinaga looked at minjeong.
"what about you?" aeri wasn't stupid. "you don't like anyone, minjeong?"
minjeong stared at her blankly, all emotion void from her figure, except for her eyes. aeri wondered what the younger girl was thinking, but as her phone rang, she didn't have the heart to care.
"sorry, i have to take this." she looked at y/n for a moment before standing from her chair. "it's jimin."
she watched as y/n tensed up, and that was everything aeri needed to know about the situation.
wonyoung watched as her childhood friend walked away, leaving her plate as another barista came in and placed the blueberry crepe in front of her.
y/n bowed, thanking the familiar-looking girl as she walked away.
"it looks good!" y/n smiled, looking up at wonyoung to find her twidling her thumbs. "what's wrong?"
minjeong could only scoff under her breath.
of course.
"nothing." wonyoung shook her head, looking up to find worried eyes gazing back at hers. she loved y/n so much that it hurt. "you and jimin-sunbaenim are still together?"
y/n hadn't thought about jimin in a while. she had purposely missed her last game, and was planning to do so at the semi-qualifiers that were quickly approaching. she didn't have the heart or the patience to deal with her girlfriend anymore (and deep down, she wonders how she ever had in the first place).
jimin was a good person when they met.
"honestly," she missed the jimin she looked up to. y/n doesn't know what changed. "i don't know."
minjeong couldn't hold it in anymore.
she was tired of playing around with y/n. it was sickening to her how she always ran back to the people who never treated her right, and how she always made excuses for jimin - for wonyoung. it wasn't fair.
"are you fucking serious right now?" minjeong hissed, seething at the younger girl. "you told me you weren't still hung up on her."
wonyoung furrowed her eyebrows.
"unnie, please." y/n hadn't seen this minjeong in person since the day she started dating jimin. "we're in public."
"i don't give a shit." minjeong whisper shouted, and suddenly the sun had become too harsh for y/n's liking. "if i knew wonyoung was here, i would've never come."
"you didn't tell her i was here?"
wonyoung should've known better. maybe jimin's words held some truth to them that she had kept denying. maybe she should've stopped denying them.
she wanted to cry.
"i tried to." y/n muttered, her cheeks suddenly red. "but you told me i should bring her, and i wanted to see you today."
wonyoung blinked, her face lighting up in a bright red hue.
maybe yoo jimin was wrong.
"you wanted to see me?"
she loved how wonyoung looked so pretty under the sunlight, the cool air sweeping through her brown locks. she loved her small smile whenever she saw something that reminded her of hyunseo, and she loved her faint giggle whenever she mispronounced a word.
y/n just loved wonyoung, even if wonyoung didn't love her anymore.
"oh my-" minjeong shook her head. "i cannot believe you right now."
wonyoung watched as y/n flinched back, shame coating her features in a way that she had only seen when she was around jimin.
"unnie..."
minjeong gripped her fork, glaring at the younger girl. "you're a fucking liar."
y/n looked down, biting back tears. although it was rare, she hated when minjeong was like this. the young actress cared about what the older girl thought of her, and it tore her to shreds to see minjeong so angry at her.
"don't talk to her like that." wonyoung raised her voice, glaring straight into minjeong's eyes. "it's your fault for not knowing."
she just wanted minjeong to like who she liked for once. she wanted the approval of an older sister, for someone to cheer her on, and for someone to talk to.
"it's your fault for being here." minjeong spat out, gritting her teeth as her anger turned venomous. "you should've stayed away from her like you initially planned to."
wonyoung inhaled, not wanting to be reminded of everything she did wrong with the older girl. she knew she messed up, she knew she wasn't good enough, but she didn't need kim minjeong to remind her.
"unnie."
but she desperately wanted to be good enough to love the girl beside her, even if that meant putting up a facade that she was.
"people change." wonyoung stated half-heartedly.
"people like you don't change." minjeong laughed. wonyoung? change? "they pretend they do and then hurt people like y/n."
wonyoung gripped the hem of her skirt. she didn't mean to hurt anyone but herself. she only wanted to love y/n, but somehow, everything blew up in her face.
wonyoung just wanted to love y/n properly, the way a person should love another.
wonyoung clenched her eyes shut. "i don't want to hurt her."
minjeong couldn't believe what she was hearing.
"now you don't?"
"unnie!" y/n shouted, and it was like the city of seoul had halted at the boom of her voice. "stop it. please."
y/n was tired of everything happening over and over again. she was tired of hurting, of being happy only for it to be shot down.
everything was too familiar, and she just wanted it to change, just this once.
y/n looked at the forgotten crepe in front of her, sniffling as she wiped her free-falling tears away.
"y/nnie?" wonyoung's voice was the only thing she wanted to hear.
"i'm sorry, wonnie." wonyoung's heart clenched. she had never heard y/n like this, so tired and so done. "we should go, unnie."
"y/n-"
"let's go."
minjeong looked at her silently, nodding.
"i want-" wonyoung wanted her to stay, even if that meant that the athlete would stay quiet for the rest of the afternoon. "aeri-unnie's gonna be upset."
"please tell her i'm sorry." y/n muttered. if she could, she would just send minjeong on her way, but she didn't have the strength to argue anymore. "me and minjeong-unnie should really go."
wonyoung stared at her, watching as tears fell down her face.
she never liked kim minjeong. the girl was always too overbearing, suffocating y/n through every step of the way, but wonyoung knew how much minjeong meant to her.
she knew how it was like to idolize someone, to want their approval.
"i'm so sorry."
wonyoung nodded, handing her a tissue.
"it's okay."
"let me pay for you." y/n pleaded, eyes teary as she looked at the girl she loved. "please?"
"y/n," minjeong could feel a blood vessel burst. "be fucking serious right no-"
"minjeong!" y/n had never gotten mad at kim minjeong, not in their two-and-a-half years of friendship. "shut up."
minjeong stared at her, emotions threatening to bubble out of her throat. she didn't know whether she was about to cry from anger or from pain, but all she knew was that what she was feeling was wonyoung's fault.
the taller girl looked between the both of them wide-eyed, clearing her throat to alleviate some of the tension in the air.
"next one's on me then?" wonyoung smiled.
y/n loved wonyoung.
"you're so cute," she muttered under her breath as she stood up, only loud enough for the volleyball player to hear.
wonyoung could feel her entire body light aflame, and suddenly it felt like her head was in the clouds.
"what?"
"huh?" y/n blinked at her, watching as minjeong gathered her things quietly. she watched as the older girl glanced at her, walking towards the elevator with tear-stained cheeks.
y/n sighed. maybe she was too harsh.
she turned back to wonyoung, a regretful smile on her face. "i'll see you around?"
"yeah, um." wonyoung couldn't form words, unable to think in any coherent language. "okay."
y/n smiled, teeth showing as her eyes narrowed.
"bye wonnie."
jang wonyoung loved l/n y/n with every fiber in her body, worthless or not.
"bye bye."
y/n walked away, biting her lip as she tried not to sob in disappointment. she went to the counter, tearfully paying for all their food before meeting minjeong in front of the elevator.
the two entered, feeling the shift of the pulley system under their feet. y/n listened to the hum of the machine, ignoring the tears and hiccups that escaped the girl beside her as they watched the numbers go down.
y/n was tired.
"where'd they go?" aeri returned, confused as to why half the table had gone missing in the last twenty minutes.
wonyoung shrugged, wailing in a small voice. "raincheck."
the older girl leaned down, inspecting her tear-stained face.
"did you cry?" aeri furrowed her eyebrows. what was it with jimin and complicated girls? "what did they do?"
wonyoung didn't mean to cry. she wasn't the one who had gotten affected by the whole debacle, but she couldn't help but wonder if none of this would've happened if she was perfect enough.
"happy tears, unnie."
(actually, she mostly cried because y/n had called her cute, and smiled at her so many times that wonyoung almost forgot how to speak korean.)
aeri raised an eyebrow. "they look like sad tears from here."
"maybe they're both."
the younger girl looked at the crepe in front of her, taking another teary bite before burying her face in her hands.
y/n called her cute.
