Oliver and Taurus Chiron
Here's my little write up of the placement
Chiron in Taurus signifies a wound related to stability. Individuals with this placement may fear losing their pillars of stability and may unconsciously act against their own values if these pillars are threatened. This behavior can emerge during stressful times, such as relationship changes/breakdowns, financial difficulties, or housing insecurity. The Chiron wound influences many of our decisions throughout life, without us ever even being aware of it. Individuals with this placement are often greatly concerned with stability in life, while others may live happily without a stable job or home, a Chiron Taurus will crave this stability and function better with it. There will be this longing to have everything working smoothly and to a structure, built on a stable foundation.
It's an extreme bordering on absurd version of it for sure, a Chiron Taurus wouldn't make you murder people. I just find it interesting to connect astrology with different characters I enjoy. To think about their motivations from a perspective of an unconscious wound that underpins their choices. How that Chiron could create behaviors to the absolute extreme.
I don't believe Oliver from the get go was intending to kill anyone. I think he saw he was beginning to be welcomed into the family and thought, possibly through friendship (probably not after seeing the way Pamela was treated) or perhaps marriage (with Venetia, maybe), that maybe his social status would change, that maybe that constantly niggling fear in the back of his mind, fearing his stability would finally be satiated, satisfied and would leave him alone. Of course, subjectively we could say Oliver's life before was stable, but that is a matter of perspective. Maybe it didn't feel all that stable when he watched Felix never worry about an exam, about money, about friendships, opportunities, safety or his future.
"Only rich people can afford to be this filthy" "I'm not like you Felix. I can't miss the exams. This is all I have."
The absolute FEAR that would have coursed through his body when Felix found out about the lies would have triggered the Chiron so hard. Everything would come crashing down, the possibility of this stable future crashing around him. His behaviors then are coming from this fear that the stability he could have had, is now gone. The choice to murder Felix to ensure his lies didn't get out and effect other pillars (Oxford, career, future, lose of friendship). I don't really see it as an intensely malicious choice, I don't think killing Felix was something he particularly wanted to do/ took pleasure in (against his morals perhaps), but it had to be done to protect the other pillars, to ensure his life still had some stability.
Getting rid of Farleigh was again, him leaning against Oliver's pillars and threatening to push them over. Venetia was another version of that, once he realized she saw through him, he placed the razor in her hands.
The grave scene was true sadness, he lost a Felix shaped pillar from his life, at his own hands. He was devastated, the first true friend he had was gone, that part of him he was with Felix was dead too. In order to save his other pillars he had to get rid of his favorite.

Hiii you’re into astrology right? I think you’ve mentioned it. Well if you like it or not I’m going to tell you about this guy and I’d synastry. So I’ve been thinking recently about what natal chart I’d want my partner to have ideally and I thought maybe for them to have some Scorpio, some Libra and some Taurus. This guy who I’ve been talking to a bit has a Scorpio sun, Libra moon, Sagittarius Mercury and Venus and a Taurus mars. I HAVE LIBRA SUN AND SCORPIO MOON SO WE HAVE A DOUBLE SUN MOON CONJUNCTION. His mars also overlays my 8th house which is quite fun. Also btw I have Scorpio mercury and Libra, Venus, Mars and Rising. Idk really how good our synastry is but it just makes me happy that his sun and moon are similar to mine. I’m a little tired to continue talking about this but I can tell you more about it at a different point if you want!
Oh, I totally love astrology, still learning, the houses are a bit confusing. But, ooh yeah having your sun and his moon and his moon and your sun match is a good sign of compatibility. I really love the combination of Libra and Sagittarius you both have together. Something about Libra and Sagittarius really just works really well. Libra, Sag and Leo to me are so similar and always work so well together. But yeah your suns and moons matching up like that are a really good sign, and you should have pretty good chemistry. Like Hyunjin's sun, matches my moon, Pisces. And he's a Pisces Mercury and Venus and I have Cancer Mercury and Venus. Oh also his north node is Leo and Chiron is Sag and my north node sag and Chiron is Leo. His moon is Virgo and my Mars is Virgo. I'm not 100% what any of this means but I think we'd get along well. Cause I'm a Leo, but I'm extremely water heavy. So the Leo traits I do have are pretty watered down except I'm a bit dramatic and always "overdressed" I think I'm too casual but apparently I'm not......Also I talk about myself too much I'm trying to stop I promise.
Oh one thing I find interesting is how the uranus and Neptune represent a whole generation like for instance, me, Johnny, Yuta, Chanyeol, taeyong, Yixing are Capricorn Uranus and Neptune and Hyunjin, Haechan, Felix, Han, Jaemin are Aquarius Uranus and Neptune but Winwin and Chan are Aquarius Uranus and Capricorn Neptune. Like theyre right in the middle of two different generations. Hence the word zennial I thought that was cool when I found that out.

Asteroids have meaning, literally all of them (and sometimes truly not so subtle) and you can't convince me otherwise after finding myself going down an asteroid binge rabbithole of exploration this Sagittarius season. Between getting inspiration from google searches/internet forums to look up more of the widely known asteroids in charts that I had not, and playing fun games like "Let's see if there is an asteroid named for this person in my life, and where it falls in my chart/theirs/etc", or "Don't mind me, just scrolling down the astro.com asteroids list, stopping at any asteroids that catch my attention with a name that has obvious meaning", I have blown my mind far too many times to count with this recent pastime. (But can it really be called blowing your mind anymore when astrology does that all the time? 😂)
Some of the most stand out examples of my personal discoveries in the last few weeks:
1.) When I saw asteroid "DNA" I could surmise that it'd have something to do with familial inheritances. Turns out my "DNA" is conjunct my mom's Jupiter in Gemini. What's especially interesting about this is my mom and I both have Jupiter in Gemini as our chart ruler (though I'm a Pisces rising, and she's a Sagittarius rising.) My Jupiter is also my one planet in the 4th house (mom, roots). I had always thought I had way more Geminian qualities than seemed to be indicated by having only my Jupiter and IC (not conjunct) in Gemini. I had long figured it must have been the impression left by my mom's 7th house stellium (which can be so easily projected to others) in Gemini, falling into my 3rd and 4th houses. But I think asteroid DNA's position in my chart just really confirms this hunch of what carried on to me through my mom. I am now super fascinated by this asteroid for this and some other connections I have made in my family.
2.) When I was scrolling down the list, "Deception Island" caught my attention and gave me a laugh. I also knew right away whose chart I had to look it up in. Someone once in my life who could not help his compulsive lying. Lo and behold, Deception Island is conjunct his Mercury, planet of thinking and communications.
3.) Ok, now moving into a couple of my namesake examples, I'm gonna start to get maybe even a little more "creepy" uncanny. I'm currently dating a Justin. Closest thing to a namesake for him is asteroid "Justino", so I gave it a look up. Guess what? Justino falls in his chart in exact conjunction with his Sun (the proverbial heart of everything). But that's not it. Where does Justino fall in my chart? That exact same sign and degree as his (and 2 degrees from my Juno). Yes, there are 360 degrees in the zodiac, but here we are, 2 people 9 years apart with an asteroid that seems to move relatively fast, both sharing his "namesake" asteroid at the degree of his Sun. (And to take this even a bit further, this is all at 13 degrees Virgo, when 13 is "my" number that I've always commented seems to come up a lot in my life.)
I don't know if this means he's "the one", or just someone who will be remembered in my life, but it's one of my discoveries too uncanny not to comment upon.
4.) Continuing with the crazy namesake connections. And also getting the most gritty personal now.
Not that long before I got into astrology, when I was pregnant with my child who I ultimately surrendered for an adoption at birth to parents I picked through an adoption agency, I had thought about naming him Felix. When I found nothing for the name I know my bio child now, I got the idea the other week to look up if there's a Felix asteroid. Well, asteroid Felix is conjunct his Sun by 3 degrees. Where is it in my chart? Conjunct my 5th house Cancer Chiron. (Of course I'd already known ever since my very first deep dives into astrology that losing my child to adoption was one big manifestation of my Chiron wound.)
To elaborate on this situation with some more eye-catching symbolism, I found my child has asteroids "Angel" and "Child" exactly conjunct in his chart (two asteroids I had already been starting to become particularly interested in just before that discovery). In our synastry, you'll find his "Angel Child" written out on my descendant (conjunct by less than a degree).
5.) Achilles is pretty self-explanatory. Think of Achilles' heel. Our downfall. I hadn't guessed where it would be before I looked it up in my chart, but I like to think I would have thought of my South Node (it has a 1 degree conjunction with it). I know the South Node can be anyone's downfall if leaned upon too heavily, but it has seemed extreme in my case (to the point of me developing very deep and difficult to crack resentment for it). Hell, I've even asked in a Facebook astrology group before if other people hate their South Node like I do. Ha!
Also on the Achilles topic, I found after I realized that my dad had it 1 degree from where my Mom's Moon is, that they have an Achilles-Moon double whammy in synastry! Then I discovered they have a Moon-Achilles conjunction under 1 degree in their composite chart as well!!! One's an Aquarius Moon and one's a Cancer Moon, their Moons are very different, and I had already observed the Moons to be the most stressed out part of their synastry. I would say especially in the past they never did have much emotional security with each other, but perhaps because of an otherwise decent looking synastry packing a lot of gravity, they just always stuck it out. You could in fact say that Moon stuff, with the huge Achilles-Moon theme, has been a downfall in their relationship, but they've somehow been together like 35 years now, narrowly escaping separation a number of times, and I will say that over the years it at least seems like they've begun to work some of these issues out... probably starting when the kids left the home (moon stuff).
It's not surprising I have Achilles-South Node though, having come from a childhood with so much Achilles around me, so heavily influencing my nurturing. (I see the South Node as just as reflective of the beginnings of this life, as it may potentially also be of influences that came before our life.)
*****************************
Sometimes it feels as if astrology must be some sorta code that we already unconsciously know. And one thing I have continually come to see is that nothing out there is meaningless. This doesn't mean I recommend diving into asteroids (or fixed stars, or midpoints, or whatever) before you've learned your basic astrology. But for the skeptics of ever exploring outside the more widely traversed territories of charts, I would remind you that everything has meaning which we give meaning. And we know our own meaning of that which unfolds in our life better than any other source can tell us, even if this knowing can operate purely from the subconscious. Astrology can shine a light on and validate what we sensed all along, and there is no end to the ways it can do this.

hello thereʕ•ﻌ•ʔ♡ I was wondering if i could get an astrology comparability with stray kids please 👉🏻👈🏻 i’m a Leo sun and mars, Cap moon, virgo mercury, libra venus and Scorpio rising. Thank you so much~^-^
Hello☁️ Another Libra Venus, I think I’ve discovered a theme here haha💗
Always note that if I don’t know the degrees, I can’t make very accurate interpretations. Just because your Moon is in Capricorn and his is in Libra, doesn’t mean they’re in a square. I just articulate it like that since the signs are in a square-relationship with each other. (Sending a screenshot of your chart will give you the most accurate results. Thanks!)
Okayyy let’s get straight into it!! (side note: I get briefer the less compatible you are with a member on purpose lol)
Most compatible
Chan - First, your Scorpio ascendant will draw him in (Scorpio Venus), though this attraction may be more superficial or temporary — he is pleased with your mannerisms etc. (his Libra stellium is very attentive of mannerisms and such). The square that Leo and Scorpio are in suggests a more personal attraction and respect for each other as Chan may feel special and loved (what you can do especially well due to your Leo placements) while you may feel intrigued by Chan and his intense Scorpio way of showing emotions. In terms of your Venus aspected in his chart...YOU ARE WHIPPED FOR HIS WORDS, HIS PSYCHE, HIS FEELINGS AND SIMPLY HIM. You crave to know more about him, to connect with him on a deeper level because you admire him a lot. You see in him your ideal type. (Let’s not lie tho that man is amazing who is not whipped for him?🥺) His Sagittarius Mars and your Leo placements, also your Libra Venus, in harmonious aspects indicate a heap of attraction. You awake his determination (also referring to his Saturn singleton in Aries — though he would keep his work separated from his love life) and his longing to try new things and to travel (long distance travels, 9th house generational planets in Aquarius). ✈️ The possibly biggest hurdle in this relationship poses the square aspect shared between your Capricorn Moon and his Saturn singleton in Aries as both these placements are very influential within each of you. This aspect hints at a high professionalism on Chan’s part, his passion for his work, however, also a restrictive feeling on your side as you feel like your emotions aren’t being understood, which is undermined by your Capricorn Moon also being in a square with his Libra stellium. You may feel unable to express your emotions when you’re with him because he may have a hard time sympathizing with them (especially evident looking at his Libra Moon regarding your Capricorn Moon). This could be a relationship in which you are emotionally more vulnerable than he is (Moon better aspected, Saturn and Moon). Individuals with a Saturn singleton may struggle with authority — note how every member only speaks formally to Chan🤓 — which can make your Moon feel restricted, seeing as Aries placements tend to speak before they think, he might criticize your emotions (his Chiron in the 6th points out his sensibility toward criticism, with which comes hyper awareness of flaws. His 6th house stellium only supports that). This negative aspect in his chart seems to be prominent in this synastry. (Maybe you’ll fight over authority since your Moon is in Capricorn, the sign ruled by Saturn.) Previously I talked about your Mars-Sun square aspect, but your Mars and his Libra stellium are in a sextile, which — especially looking at his Sun — means that you feel comfortable with each other and are rather adventurous, making each other feel more confident about yourselves✨. Your Leo Sun/Mars basically drinks it up, yet is also phenomenal at expressing appreciation. You make him feel like he’s the only one that matters, which may make him shy, but secretly you help his self-critical nature a lot, considering that your Mercury is in Virgo and you articulate yourself in a way that soothes him. He might be in love with your mind and the words you say (Juno in Virgo and Venus in Scorpio). In conclusion, you’d have emotional complications as you may feel like he doesn’t understand or accept your feelings and desire for a specific domestic life (which can prevent a deep bond), though you’d have fun together as friends, hyping each other up and going on adventures together (I know your Leo Sun and Mars want to😌). Since attraction is there between you two, I think you’d be friends who are secretly in love with each other, though you might never even confess🤫 (your Virgo Mercury is real cautious about your words, and his Saturn singleton gives him the ability to restrict himself and set boundaries easily).
Jisung - read Felix’s first! It’s pretty similar to Felix’s interpretation. Now, a very beneficial change is that Jisung’s moon is in Pisces (most likely), so your moons aren’t in a square and that difficulty of expressing his emotions isn’t present anymore (though it will always be present within you, it’s not present within him.) Only your Moon and his Venus (just like your Moon and Venus) are in a square, which makes the aspect of “blocked” ability to express your affection way milder☁️. He will bathe you in love though, no doubt, and you love it because his way with words and his love style is admirable to you (Libra Mercury and Libra Venus, same as Seungmin and Felix). Your moons are in a sextile, which enables you to experience a harmonious romantic relationship where each of you shares a nurturing interest in the emotional well-being of the other accompanied by an intuitive understanding of what is needed and wanted to create mutual feelings of emotional security.💕 Lastly, your rising is in a trine with his Moon which suggests a possible display of excess emotions by Jisung to you, which can put you on edge (especially looking at the secretive nature of Scorpio and Pieces’ difficulty drawing clear lines/boundaries).
Felix - With Felix it’s like you speak to him (his Virgo Sun and your Virgo Mercury) and he speaks to you (your Libra Venus and his Libra Mercury). You may be in love with each other’s minds and ideas as your love styles are similar (both of you have a Libra Venus). These aspects are very strong regarding overall harmony💕 and problem-solving (communication skills) as you both have a soothing, tactful and forthcoming way of wording your thoughts🌫. You both have difficult Mars-Venus aspects both natally and in synastry (a lot of cardinality — is that even a word?🥴). You have your Capricorn Moon squaring your Libra Venus, and he has his Libra Venus located opposite to his Aries moon, which can result in great need for love and affection, but difficulty achieving that. Love might feel shallow or untrue, restricted in a way. Both of you personally have difficulties expressing your feelings and longings. Though these are natal aspects, these come to shine in the relationship as a prominent difficulty. You really and truly want to love each other, but insecurities, fear or a simple confusion as to how to express these feelings may hold you back from being able to express these feelings with each other. This can be a problem with other partners as well, however, in this relationship these aspects come to especially show. Although showing affection may be hard, both your Suns are in a trine with your respective Moon signs (Cap Moon + Virgo Sun & Leo Sun + Aries Moon), which is a very strong and positive aspect to have in synastry. Since you both are the Sun people and the Moon people, there isn’t a feeling of dynamics, but more a feeling of support.💗 You are there for each other and initiate (ties in with cardinal quality) new projects together. Additionally, you have the same Mars signs, which further points out — with your Venuses in mind — that you have a similar style of loving, though the expression of it (Venus-Moon aspects, as mentioned) can be “blocked” and internally conflicting but also “restricted” in the relationship. Your moons being in a square aspect brings in further conflict. You are not in synchronization with your each other’s needs for emotional security. You will seldom experience the same feeling at the same time, and even when you do, you will instinctively respond in different ways. Lastly, a good aspect, the sextile aspect between your rising and his Sun indicates a harmonious flow of energy. You make each other feel good about yourselves. You understand each other and feel comfortable in each other's company. 🥰 All in all, many aspects in your synastry are positive concerning love for each other. You have strong feelings for each other, though you just don’t match up romantically. It seems like the timing might not be right or something stands in the way of you expressing your emotions. You really want to love each other, because you are two very loving people, but you don’t know how. (This sounds like the premise of a drama👀 lol)
Seungmin - again, Seungmin’s and your compatibility is similar to yours with Felix, though this time Seungmin’s moon is not opposite his Venus, but square his Venus, just like your Moon squares your Venus. (Since his birth time is not given — same with Felix and every member apart from Chan (and with Minho it’s a 50/50 chance) the orb can differ or the aspect can also not even exist, but it’s likely and the signs the celestial bodies are in are in a square-relationship. (here we go again, me inventing words🥴)) Further explained, this aspect between you two and within you gives you the following problems; your fear of losing control over them may result in repressive behavior which tends to avoid relationships that awaken deeper emotional responses. Yet at the same time, you need this emotional involvement and those intense feelings.🎭 With your emotions and feelings being polarized, you often prefer to retreat from commitment, rejecting the personal obligations that may be required from relationships. These behavioral patterns can be seen in a starker light at times when commitment is required in relationships. Because you refuse to acknowledge the depth of your feelings, deep-rooted fears begin to rise. These can include fear of losing freedom, fear of another's power over your emotions, and fear of experiencing love's transformative fires⚡️. Lastly, his Mars is in Virgo, which can bring by a quality of strong communication when it comes to intimacy or a flow of communication through touch in your relationship and his words, creating a relatability with your emotions. Simultaneously, though, your fire placements and your Libra Venus make the expression of affection harder than it already is. In conclusion: your expression of affection is extremely difficult, not only personally but synastrial (me making up words part 6842😵) as well.
Jeongin - Your Venus in Libra (considering his Aquarius stellium — which my Aquarius Venus is sooo fangirly about, but that’s another topic..) and his Mars square yours (+ his Scorpio Mars and your Scorpio rising) hint at attraction, but on a deeper level, you can’t really find a lot of common ground (his Aries Venus and your Libra Venus, your Mercuries in a Quincunx, etc.). You look for different things in a partner🤷♀️, though you’d be fun as friends, and that’s why I put him in the middle (your fire and air placements would goof around so much lol). And note what I said earlier about your natal Moon-Mars square: you (according to astrology) have difficulty committing and expressing romantic affection. His Aries Venus is aspected like Felix’s Moon, highlighting that aspect of you⚡️. (Chan e.g., can help you express your feelings with his Libra Mercury and Libra stellium (+ Psyche if you work with asteroids))💗
Minho - First off, I think he has a Scorpio Venus and a Gemini rising (which I will discuss more in a future post I’m making of him as a boyfriend💕), which would mean that you would attract one another in a mainly superficial way, though when it comes to further getting to know each other, your Leo placements and his Scorpio stellium would bite each other, which is the first thing I’ve noticed when looking at your charts. His Sagittarius Moon may feel understood or ‘‘at home’’ with you, and his Virgo Mars could enable a flow of communication through physical contact (like with Seungmin), seeing as you have a Virgo Mercury🪐. Lastly, your Capricorn Moon might feel understood by and cared for with his Scorpio stellium, though on a personal level, you wouldn’t really get along☀️. (He’d be like a certain type of friend to you that you don’t really hang out with often/is just in your friend group)
Hyunjin - Your Virgo Mercury in relation to his Moon singleton in Libra/Virgo (Virgo more likely) could help him with the opposition between his Sun and Moon (and other personal planets that could be badly aspected, though we don’t exactly know since we don’t know his birth time) as you understand his emotions and (assuming his Moon’s in Virgo) can help him communicate them or (taking into consideration the possibility of a Libra Moon) you admire his emotions and feel a deep connection/are attuned to his moods.💗 This is the strongest aspect in your synastry (Venus conjunct Moon synastry is considered a true love aspect. If at a tight orb — which we can’t know — the love will be mutual and likely emotionally fulfilling. Both parties tend to be very sweet to each other. Hyunjin finds beauty and warmth from you.)☁️ But then there’s also aspects like your Mercuries being in opposite signs, his Venus being in Pisces (may shallowly attracted to you (Scorpio rising)), his Mars and your Venus being opposite, etc. that hint at a relationship in which both parties feel like “strangers’’ to each other as you can’t really emphasize with each other😯. I don’t think you would even really want to get to know each other if you met, because you simply aren’t really interested in each other to begin with. You’d be like side characters to each other’s stories (that one side character that helps once but doesn’t really appear again because they just help the plot? 😂lol)
Changbin - His Venus in Virgo may like your communication style/fall in love with your ideas/mind, but I can also see him being very picky. Overall, compatibility with Changbin is very hard since his chart is full of squares and oppositions. (The amount of fixed signs gets me scared of anyone who has ever or will ever be in a fight with him😵. That man indeed spits fire💥.) Your Leo sun/mars and your Scorpio rising would be conflictingly aspected. Your Mercuries might work together here, and your Capricorn moon could also work well with his Taurus and Virgo placements. (Cancer-Capricorn, or any sister sign pairings, only work when the rest or the chart is harmonious, since opposites can be ‘‘ride or die’’/extreme.) But all in all, it’s a weak compatibility with many extremes❗️ and hardly any harmonious aspects. There may be strange attraction, but it would probably feel uncomfortable. 😳

The Dimensions War
Chapter Two: The Godly Wedding
Warning: Fight
Author Note: I’m sorry everything is so quick in this chapter omg. As usual sorry for any mistake and feedbacks appreciated! Thank you ^^
Johnathan was observing every guest who walked in the gigantic room to assure that nobody was an enemy. He looked to his right and saw his reflection in a big mirror. He smiled. He was so proud of his polished gold and black armour, a tiger head on the torso.
“Good evening, Johnathan.” A voice suddenly said.
The young man returned back to himself and turned to face the person who has talked to him. He immediately dropped on the floor, bowing.
“Hello, your highness.”
It was a woman who was standing in front of him. A beautiful yet hard one. She had brown hairs flowing on her shoulders, her form was draped in a elegant gold dress. A blue and green peacock necklace was tied around her neck. Without any doubt, it was Hera, the goddess of wedding, who was standing here, near him. The woman smiled at him.
“You can stand up now, great warrior.”
He did as he was told. Hera was taller than him and he glanced at her. He always had a tiny crush on the older goddess but he knew she will never break her vows (unlike her husband…) to be with him. And he will never break his promise too. He had swear to be loyal to the Devil, until his death.
“Is the groom and the bride ready?” She asked gently, some goddesses were walking toward them.
“I do believe so, your highness.” He replied. “Do you want me to check on them?”
“Yes, please.”
The young man nodded and walked toward a door which was hidden behind a red drape. Before he had gone, he had heard the goddesses chuckling at him. He sighed, they knew and she probably does so. He opened the door, seeing the four Horsemen and Angela, talking.
“Uhm, excuse me?” He said.
“What is it, Johnathan?” Ethan asked.
“The goddesses are asking if they are ready.”
“They are. Tell them they will soon appear.” Angela told him.
“You’re… gorgeous.”
Felix was sitting in a silver armchair with green cushions, staring at his love, who was indeed, the prettiest girl he has never seen before. She was wearing a light grey princess dress with laces and a long veil with moons and stars laced in. Her hair was styled in a French braid. Her black and silver crown was on her head and she looked as beautiful and fearless as ever.
“I could say the same about you.” She smiled, kissing him. “You, in a suit?” She joked.
“Oh, you would have preferred my military uniform?” He grinned, playing her game.
Before she could answer, Ethan entered the room, without any warning, like usual.
“The goddesses are ready for the ceremony, you guys better come out.” He said.
“Ethan, when the wedding is over, we will need to talk about this little thing of yours, you know, entering rooms without knocking.” Naomie seriously replied, a bit of anger in her eyes.
The boy shrugged.
“Yeah, sure but right now everyone is waiting for you two to come out.”
Naomie took the arm of Felix and linked it with her own. She stared at him: he looked so nervous and he was shaking lightly.
“I’m not anxious.” He finally said.
She scoffed.
“Of course you are not.”
“I’m just marrying you and officially becoming a God, how can I be nervous about that?”
“They are going to love you.” She murmured, leaning slightly on him, to reassure him. “Both the deities and the people who will worship you. Who will worship us.”
He looked down at her and kissed her. Johnathan appeared suddenly and stopped in his tracks, seeing the two gods kissing each other. He gave a discreet couch, to make his presence known. The two broke apart and glanced at him.
“If you are ready…”
And they both were.
Walking slowly in the middle of the aisle, the Tigers standing and raising their swords as they pass. They reached the end of the aisle and kneeled down, in front of all goddesses of the marriage, Hera in head. She looked at the two young gods then raised her head to watch at the assembly.
“Today we are celebrating the union of two new deities, the goddess of death and god of nature.”
She glared suddenly at the groom and bride.
“Are you two ready for the ritual?”
They nodded. Isis stepped in, a golden ribbon in her hands. She handed it to Hera. She took it and tied it around their wrists.
“From now on, your souls are bonded. You are nothing without the other. You two complete each other. Swear that you will never cheat, never leave, never hide, never kill your love.” Hera sternly said.
“I swear.” The young couple promised, looking at each other.
The ribbon gleamed softly for a few seconds, linking the two souls forever. Isis removed it with a small smile. Now, Odin appeared, a heavy crown in his hands. Hera stepped aside and watched as the god put the black and green crown on the young man’s head.
“From now on, you are a god. You are now one of us. Welcome to the Assembly!” He yelled, making the floor and walls shook.
Felix observed the people who were dancing in the middle of the room. Naomie was talking with a few friends while he was left with his own thoughts. What if he wasn’t strong enough? What if he wasn’t up for this new task? What if he disappointed everyone, including his wife?
“Hey Felix!”
The boy frowned and turned to see Percy Jackson, the son of Poseidon, walking toward him, beaming.
“Congratulation on your wedding, mate!” The demi god said.
“Thank you, Percy.”
The smile on the boy’s face faded.
“Is something wrong?” He asked. “Are you alright?”
“I just don’t feel like I should be a god… You know, it’s too much responsibilities, I never done something like that in the past. I don’t know how to do it.”
“There is always a start for everything. I think you are going to be a great god.” Percy told him, with his biggest grin.
Felix nodded and smiled faintly at him, feeling a little better. Soon, Naomie appeared at his side and took his hand. Percy left to go dancing with Annabeth.
“I didn’t want to listen but I heard what you told Percy.” She whispered.
He closed his eyes and gulped. She kissed him.
“I promise you, you’re going to be great at this. We just need to work on your self confidence and I know exactly how to do it…”
The young god blushed suddenly and the other one started laughing. She hugged him close.
“I love you Felix…”
“I love you too…”
Suddenly, the two doors of the large room opened, revealing enormous and hideous human-like creatures. They started to kill the guests and people started screaming and running everywhere, to escape from them. Naomie glanced at the gods and goddesses who were as clueless as she was. Some of the monsters ran toward the godly couple.
“What are they?!” Felix yelled, making his long sword appeared with his magic.
“I don’t know!” She replied, her scythe in hand, ready to kill and defend her lover.
Johnathan saw them and the creatures who were going to hurt them. He started running toward them, the rest of the Tigers behind him.
“Protect the king and queen!” He shouted raising his sword to kill one beast and another one.
Artemis and Apollo appeared at the sides of the young gods, Athena was off to kill with Ares and Thor as well as the demi gods and Chiron. The other guests who knew how to fight were fighting too and Michael shot some of the beasts with his paralyser gun, Sonny beside him. The three other Horsemen were trying to help and defend the guests who couldn’t fight back.
“They are Titans!” Artemis said in a panicked voice.
“Titans? As in…?” Naomie asked, killing some monsters with a wave of magic of her scythe.
“No, not them!” Zeus shouted. “The Titans were, I mean, are the dogs of Evrelata, a woman who was jealous of the gods for their powers so she created them.” The Greek god told her. “She also had other monsters but I thought she was imprisoned on a planet…”
“Not anymore, Zeus…”
A woman walked down the aisle, dressed in a pink suit, with a vest and a pencil skirt and white high heels. She had blue eyes and straight long brown hair with a little nose. She honestly looked like a “good” person, who will do good deeds and not like someone who is jealous of the gods and their powers. The woman strolled toward the young gods and stopped when all the other gods and goddesses formed a circle to protect them. She smiled kindly at them.
“Oh you two looks so adorable together!”
Felix cringed at her tone of voice. She reminded him somehow of Pan… Naomie growled at her. How could this woman be so calm? She just crashed her wedding!
“It’s such a shame you two will be separated for the moment…” She sighed dramatically.
Before they could ask what she meant by that, a portal opened and two Titans grabbed Felix by the ankles thanks to their tails. Felix yelped as he was pulled on the floor. The boy tried to escape, shot them with his magic, impaled them with his sword. Even the gods tried to stop the two Titans but nothing could stop them. When Naomie tried to grab Felix, Evrelata shot her with a small blaster. Felix screamed as he was dragged into the portal which closed quickly after he disappeared into it. The devil yelled in pain and agony as she clenched her injured shoulder, the Horsemen next to her.
“What have you done?!” Tom inquired.
“Nothing dear. I just wanted to see how the new and insecure god will do, back in his dimension.” She said innocently.
“His dimension? You mean you sent him back to his original world?!” Sonny yelled. “You can’t do that! It’s against the laws of the Assembly and of Hells!”
“Except that I am not part of the Assembly nor Hells, my dear friend.” She grinned. “And I just wanted to warn you that I am back. And I’m going to destroy all your pitiful worlds, to show to your worshippers how their gods really are.” She darkly added.
“Why are you doing this?” Angela weakly asked, healing her sister.
“I have my reasons, little angel. With this, I wish you a happy wedding celebration, dear Devil.”
The woman climbed on the back of one of the Titans and they flew, destroying the ceiling and crushing the wedding.

pairings: reader x minho
author’s note: A spin-off of Kris’s (@hey-hey-chan) Percy Jackson au featuring Chan & happy 1k em, this is for you!!! @hellohwiyoung
“Okay, who’s idea was it to just go in the city without notifying Chan or Chiron?” Minho fumed.
I shifted my gaze to Grover and pointed at him, “He did it.”
Grover glared at me, “Seriously Y/n? I’m your protector. Does it look like I’ll just drag you to the city unannounced?”
Minho gave me a stern look, “Look, Y/n. I know you’re new to the camp, but there are monsters out to get you. You haven’t even had a single training lesson. What makes you think you could handle a Fury on your own?”
“I didn’t know she was going to turn into a monster and screech a me. I thought she was really a librarian!”
“If I didn’t make it there in time, you could have been seriously hurt. Even worse, dead,” he lectured.
“Hey man, chill. I would have protected her,” Grover stepped in between the both of us. Minho glared at him, and he immediately took a step back.
I threw my hands in the air, “I don’t know why my dad brought me here. How do you even know I’m a demigod? I don’t even know who my mom is.”
Minho’s eyes softened, “Look, it took me a while before Hermes claimed me too. The gods are busy with their duties, and they forget about us once in a while. But nonetheless they love us in one way or another.”
“Does your dad love you?”
“Yes, he does,” he replied quietly.
~
“I heard you haven’t been claimed yet?” Felix, Apollo’s son, said.
I poked the food on my plate, “Yes Felix. I’ve noticed, thank you very much.”
Apparently, the Dining Pavilion was arranged according to our godly parents. Thanks mom, for not claiming me. I didn’t want to sit with the Aphrodite kids because they were just very ditsy, so I chose Apollo. He was the god of music, so I figured why not. The Dining Pavilion was my favorite place in the entire camp. It stood on a hill that overlooked the sea. It was supported by columns with torches ablaze from each, and a central fire the size of my bathroom in the old apartment.
Ever since I entered high school, my dad kept on making me switch schools. Miraculous things would happen. Like that one time where I was the the library and the entire shelf in front me just fell, nearly crushing me. Or when I was asked to read out loud in class and words just swam out of the page. Well, now I know I’m a dyslexic demigod with a scent that attracts monsters. I guess there’s an explanation for everything.
“So, any ideas on who your mom is?” Felix asked and the other Apollo boys nodded in unison.
“Hopefully not Aphrodite. No offense, but I kinda don’t want to share a room with those people,” I motioned towards the goddesses table. Not that I didn’t like them, I feel like I just don’t fit in.
Jisung, Felix’s half brother, thought for a bit, “Well Artemis doesn’t have kids. So you have either Hera, Demeter, or Athena. Or maybe even Hebe or Nemesis.”
“As long as Aphrodite isn’t my mom, I’m good,” you took a bite of your sausage.
Jisung laughed, “Be careful what you say. She is the goddess of love. Maybe you’ll never find love.”
I let out a bitter laugh, “As if anyone would like me. I’m not even worried.” It was the sad truth. I scared away all the boys in my previous schools. I was called names such as dork, nerd, and geek. The only times they approached me were for homework and questions to yesterday’s homework.
“Your time will come. Oh yea, has anyone seen Grover?” Felix looked around the pavilion.
“I think he’s with Minho. I saw him at the Hermes table earlier,” I turned around and spotted Minho. He was probably talking to Chan about the Capture the Flag strategy against the Hunters of Artemis.
Jisung spoke up, “Hey Y/n! You’re participating in the tournament tomorrow! Because according to the rules, if you’re not injured, you have to play!”
“But but, I haven’t even had a training lesson. I can’t shoot arrows or hold a sword. The Hunters are going to plummet me,” I shook my head aggressively. Although killing was prohibited, I didn’t want to go home with a thousand arrow wounds.
Felix patted your back, “It’s okay. Minho will train you. He’s one of our most skilled fighters.”
“I’m not sure that’s a good idea. You know, my back has kinda been hurting lately. I’m injured?” I asked hopefully.
Felix smirked, “Nice try, Y/n.”
~
“Before we actually start fighting, I don’t want you to use all of your strength on me. I want you to be assertive, and be wary of my next move,” Minho directed, handing me the sword.
I wrapped my clammy hands around the weapon, positioning it vertically. I mimicked Minho’s standing posture and how he held the sword.
“I’ll be defense, so just try to disarm me,” he said.
I took a deep breath and held the sword with both hands. I slashed horizontally at him. Minho deflected the sword easily, and I lost my grip. The sword fell on the grass with a thud, and I looked down on the ground in embarrassment.
“I’m sorry. I’m just really bad at this,” I mumbled.
He picked up the sword and handed it back to me.
“You know what? Maybe sword fighting isn’t for you,” he chuckled lightheartedly.
I smoothed my armor, “Maybe nothing is right for me. I’m better off gardening or something. Maybe Demeter’s my mom.”
Minho thought for a second, “How bout archery?”
My eyes lit up, “Archery you say?”
He picked up a bow and arrow and handed it to me, “Aim for the bull’s eye.”
I took the bow and positioned myself in front of the target. Minho held my arms and taught me how to properly hold it. His proximity was so close that I had completely lost focus.
“So you use your left hand to hold the bow and your right hand to level the arrow. You aim at the target, and shoot. Got it?” he said, his face centimeters from mine.
I avoided his gaze and nodded quickly. My heart was beating at an abnormal pace, and my cheeks were flushed. He slowly let go of my arms and took a step back.
Taking another deep breath, I closed one eye and aimed at the target a few meters ahead of me. Swiftly, I shot the arrow at the target. Minho’s jaw dropped.
“Wow, that’s amazing! No one has ever hit bull’s eye during their first shot!”
I blinked and looked in front of me. The arrow did indeed hit the target.
“I did it? I DID IT!” I threw the bow on the ground and ran up to Minho to give him a hug.
“Thank you thank you thank you thank you!” I wound my arms around his neck and bounced up and down.
Minho was slightly taken back, but he returned the hug slowly, “You’re welcome Y/n. See, I even said sword fighting wasn’t your thing. At this point, you might even be better than Artemis’ Hunters.”
I pulled away and looked at him, “No, they’re scary. I’m going to get beaten up tomorrow. Then Grover will have to take care of me in the infirmary.”
“You’ll be fine. I’ll watch over you. And you can take your hands off my neck now,” he chuckled shyly.
“Oh right sorry. Haha,” I let go of him and laughed awkwardly.
~
“I’M GONNA DIE!” I screamed at Jisung as he deflected an arrow from nearly taking my eye out.
“RUN TO THE CREEK. I’LL FIND YOU LATER,” he yelled back.
I ran into the forest with my bow and arrow. There was a dagger on the side of my armor in case I needed it for close combat. I ducked a few more arrows that came my way.
A Huntress appeared behind the bushes, and she lunged a spear at me. I avoided it by a hair and ran deeper into the forest in the direction of the creek. The Huntress chased after me as I ran. I knew I didn’t have a chance to beat a Huntress in any form of one-to-one combat, so I fled.
By the time I reached the creek, Minho and Chan was there defending our flag. I stood there stiffly, not knowing what to do. While I was caught off guard, a Huntress jumped in front of me and attempted to disarm me. I quickly leaped back and pulled out my dagger, the only form of self defense weapon I had. I knew I couldn’t shoot from such a close range.
“Y/n, watch out!” Minho shouted and stepped in front of me. Another Huntress came up to him, and he was fighting the two of them at the same time. This meant that Chan was the only one defending the flag.
Reacting quickly, I shot an arrow at the Huntress attacking Chan, and it managed to scrape her arm. The injury from my arrow made her drop the sword. I turned around and shot another arrow at a Huntress approaching Chan from the back. This time, it wounded her shoulder, and she fell to the ground in pain.
Chan looked at me with a surprised expression on his face, “Woah, you’re amazing.”
I smiled proudly at myself, but it was interrupted just as quick when I felt something sharp cut through my right arm. I immediately dropped my bow and clutched my arm in pain.
“Y/n! I told you to watch out,” Minho yelled, rushing towards me with a worried expression written on his face. His face was dripping with sweat, and there was a slight scar above his eyebrow.
“You’re bleeding,” I reached up to touch his scar.
Minho grabbed my hand and applied pressure on my wound, “You’re crazy. My cut is nothing compared to yours. You’re losing so much blood.” Minho was supporting my back with his arm while applying pressure on my cut.
“I am?” I asked, feeling lightheaded.
Minho shook me lightly, “Hey you’re gonna be fine, okay? You did well.”
“I mean I guess-HEY WATCH OUT!” I got up and shielded Minho from the Huntress’ blow with her spear. I braced myself for the impact, but nothing happened.
The Huntress stepped back with a bewildered look on her face.
She gasped, “The daughter of Athena.”
“What?”
She pointed at a glowing, holographic symbol of an owl above my head.
Minho stood up and shook my shoulders, “Athena claimed you! Your mom is Athena.”
I stood there in awe, unable to speak, “I-I’m a daughter of Athena?”
~
“Ugh, my head,” I clutched my head and got up.
How did I get here? I swore I was by the creek.
Minho rushed towards me, still in his armor. He brought over some ambrosia and nectar for me.
“Lay down. You lost some blood back there,” he handed me the goblet of nectar, which I gratefully took.
“What happened?” I drank from the cup. The sweet nectar immediately relieved my wound.
“So you were claimed by Athena, and then you blacked out. By the way, what were you thinking jumping in front of me like that? You could have been seriously injured?” he spoke up, making you nearly drop the cup.
“Hey, I don’t know. It was an instinct. I didn’t want you to get hurt,” I explained.
“I’m more experienced with combat. I’ve gotten way more injuries than you.”
“I know, but I just don’t want to see you get hurt,” I replied stubbornly.
Minho sat down on my bed and held my arm, “But look at you. Your arm isn’t gonna heal until after a week.”
“I’ll be fine. I’m Athena’s daughter remember?” I smiled cheekily.
“I should have saw that. Only a daughter of Athena would have your archery skills and bravery,” he complimented.
I blushed at his compliment. Minho moved his hand down my arm to hold my hand.
“Thanks for that, Y/n.”
He looked up at me and smiled. At first, I was afraid to make eye contact with him because my heart felt like it was going to burst any second. However, I mustered up the courage to look at him, and he gave me the sweetest smile.
“Hey Y/n, I was wondering how you w–oh my gods! Sorry to interrupt! Please continue,” Jisung quickly turned around and walked out of the infirmary.
“No, Felix. Stay outside. They’re having a moment,” I heard him whisper to Felix.
Minho laughed shyly and focused his attention back on me, “So uh…there’s gonna be some fireworks show the Zeus kids are working on. Well, the two of them. Do you maybe wanna go see them with me?”
I raised my brow at him, “Is it a date?”
“If you want it to be?” he looked down at his hand, still holding onto mine.
“Sounds great,” I responded.

Attrition of Peace
Seventeen: Leo
I Descend on a Disco Ball
Leo figured people would get mad if he crashed the party with several tons of bronze dragon, so he parked Festus in sleep mode on the roof. He, Felix, and Calypso had an easy time breaking in through the roof entrance. He and Calypso talked about going through the front, but Felix seemed intent that the roof was the most direct route. That, and there were about a dozen monsters outside the front. Not the kind of place he’d want to charge in fists blazing.
Felix, his other “dragon,” tugged ahead on her leash. Well, she didn’t really look like Felix. Felix was supposed to be a silver dragon companion to Festus, and Calypso’s emergency search-and-ride if he and she ever got separated. Felix had been a beauty: all silver circuitry, with sapphire eyes, and lovely metal. Then Felix got blasted out of the sky by a discus and a Roman ballista when she was out on a rebellious stroll.
Now Felix was a small, silvery work table. A bit of a downsizing, but Leo figured they’d manage until he could get her original body. It was all he had on hand to immediately insert her control disk into.
Turns out, when Leo programmed her, he hadn’t been specific enough. Who would have known search-and-rescue would be so close to search-and-destroy in the language of programming? And, he didn’t specify Calypso of Ogygia. So, Felix flew off from Calypso and Leo’s Garage and found Kalypso Cassand, the daughter of Apollo who happened to now be traveling with Kronos’s scythe.
As he predicted, as soon as Felix’s disc was inserted into one of the replacement Buford prototypes, Felix continued her last command: find Kalypso Cassand. Leo would worry about the destroy part later. However, he kinda hoped a demigod could take a work table if things got messy.
When they were flying to find Kally and the group that trashed their shack with a party, Felix had suddenly jerked her attention away from California and towards the East.
“You better hope she hasn’t completely malfunctioned,” Calypso had muttered at the sudden change in direction. Calypso had been jumpy since she’d found out about Kronos’s scythe two weeks ago, and—Leo suspected—since she realized their search would lead them towards New Rome or Camp Half-Blood. It worried Leo that Felix detected these people so close to his friends.
Leo didn’t want his friends to be attacked by a jerk wielding Backbiter, but he couldn’t hide his disappointment when they landed in a different part of the Big City other than Long Island or Manhattan. He could really go for some of Sally Jackson’s blue cookies, or for some dryad served brisket, or Coach Gleeson telling him to eat some beef to beef up his arms. Not the most conventional satyr wisdom.
When they landed on this rooftop, he could tell—his friends were close. And that wasn’t just because he heard a hoard of people shout, “Percy Jackson!” somewhere in the floors under him. He knew before he even entered. He liked to think his demigod senses were tingling.
That’s why he asked Calypso to wait on the roof to guard Festus. She seemed to get agitated every time he mentioned his old pals. Besides, several thousand years of isolation didn't make a great formula for an avid club go-er.
He opened the shockingly unlocked roof access and let Felix drag him forward. There was no way Leo could sneak in with Felix. The walking table sounded less like someone on a stealth mission and more like someone wearing rollerblades that tripped into his dad's tool shed. But, with how loud the music was, the noise didn't seem to matter.
The club's set up was weird--or at least Leo thought it was. He was sure Annabeth could say if it was up to code for a monster jam bar. He and Felix went through the doorway, almost fell down a ladder, and onto a metal catwalk. The hanging walkway swung violently as Felix thrashed to jump over the hand railing.
“Wow! Felix, I know you’re excited to search-and-destroy, but cool your jets! I haven’t even installed jets in you yet!” Leo struggled to keep both of them from plummeting to a demigod's-lamest-death: splat onto the disco floor of a monster club, or at least that’s what he guessed was under him.
Felix whined and creaked in protest. Leo could hear it now, But I want to kill nooowwwww.
The ceiling was bizarre. Either Hephaestus set up a Talos sized fog-machine and engineered a hundred tiny fireflies to dart around, or someone took a piece of the sky and tucked it into the top of this building.
Leo couldn't fully appreciate it. He was struggling too much not to fall to his death. He slipped to the floor grate when Felix next jolted forward, apparently thinking a suicidal hop off this catwalk was the fastest route for both of them. Leo skidded forward on his butt with Felix’s tugs and would have flipped right down to splat onto the dance floor had he not slammed his feet into the railing. He dragged Felix back and restrained her. As quickly as he could, he jury-rigged a locking mechanism for Felix's chain leash. Normally, the average sentient table wouldn't pose too much of a threat of escaping, but Felix was a feisty one.
He just hoped Felix wouldn't bend the railing he tied her to.
From what Leo could see... well, he couldn't really see much. Just the dark fog, flashing lights below, and a few shapes fluttering through the mist. He was pretty sure there was a wall ten feet to his side, and—though he was disoriented—he'd guess this area would be on the right side of the club.
There wasn't much to work with up here. The catwalk made a solid square around a huge cage that dangled from four chains, one at each corner. There was a hole at the top of the cage, so—Leo assumed—the massive disco ball above could descend through the cage.
Leo was shocked Felix's clanking didn't attract any security guards. The music below was so loud though, Leo figured he could drop a screaming Coach Gleeson down there and no one would flinch.
Despite feeling an adrenaline rush at possibly seeing his pals for the first time in forever and getting totally pumped for a potential battle, Leo felt himself sway to the music. It was a club remix of some weird comedy song, and Leo could swear he recognized it, something with two guys singing, And I jizz in my pants, far too seriously.[1]
Before he did anything else, he needed to take care of that cage. Those metal bars looked like bad news for a demigod—or a T-Rex, based off how big the cage was. Leo patrolled along the exterior, making quick locks to jam the pulley system to avoid any lowering.
Next, Leo needed to figure out how to get down. From the looks of Felix, Kalypso and her group must have been right under—
Someone, that sounded a suspicious amount like Annabeth, shouted in pain.
Leo needed to get down there now.
He made a quick remote for the last non-jammed pulley. "Sorry girl! I'll come back for you! And I promise to bring you a souvenir fit for your search and destroy setting," Leo said to Felix.
The table squirmed and creaked in protest.
Leo lunged at the wires above the disco ball, barely catching it. From his tinkering with the pulley, he knew the metal cords could hold him, but balancing on a shiny, reflective sphere? Not quite as much like riding a metal dragon as he hoped. Maybe he should complain to management to make a disco ball seatbelt.
One button click and he was descending through the fog and into the unknown. The further he got, the more lightheaded he felt. An odd sense of euphoria hit him. He was going to see his friends. He hadn't seen them since—
The fog broke and Leo realized riding a disco ball into the unknown might not have been the best idea. Kinda like riding a reflective shoot here sign. There were monsters everywhere. None of them seemed to pay him mind. Winged ones flapped past him in a crazed dance. One even waved a giant foam hand at him that read I love Eating Romans.
He really wished he could have Festus in here. Having a several ton dragon burst through the roof might have been safer.
But he was already halfway down. As he descended, he saw a small patio balcony lining the second story appear out of the Mist. He quickly recognized two people standing on it from his earlier security footage: a tall African boy with a black and red beanie and a black scarf and an Asian girl with a video camera recording something under him.
The tall boy with ebony skin had a golden bow in his hands. He looked horrified and leaned heavily on the railing of the patio, like he'd just shot Chiron in the butt before remembering that Chiron didn't always have the best sense of humor about being shot in the horsehind.
While the ball lowered, Leo nodded his head to the club beat of Jizz in my Pants and made eye contact with the girl. He could feel the presence of Kronos's blade on her belt. He couldn't remember her name, but gave her his best wait-until-I-get-off-this-disco-ball-look that he could muster.
Leo glanced down to see what she was recording.
What he saw underneath him made his jaw drop. "Holy Toledo..." Leo muttered.
More monsters were dancing below. What he assumed was Annabeth's frizzy, blond hair bobbed in and out of the monsters in a manic search for something she must have dropped on the ground. She didn't appear physically injured, but he had to wonder why she'd shouted in pain. Annabeth didn’t strike him as the type to freak out over losing a hair tie or something, but whatever it was must have been important for her to be sweeping the room in such a meticulous grid pattern.
His heart did a double thud. Piper and Hazel were standing nearby, seeming not to notice Annabeth's wondering. They cheered and danced. Something about their actions looked familiar. It kinda reminded him of when he'd met Dionysus' crazed fangirls, the Maenads.
Although he couldn't be sure, since the boy was half-covering his face, Leo thought Nico Di Angelo was standing beside Piper and Hazel. The boy looked gloomy and annoyed enough to be their resident goth.
There was a small stage directly under the disco ball's path, ending beside Hazel, Piper, and Nico. That's what made his jaw drop.
Excitement made him even more lightheaded. All his friends were here. Percy, Jason, Frank, and Will were on the stage, doing the electric slide and leading the monsters to clap to the beat.
When Jason spotted him, a cheer went up. The four boys jumped up and down. Percy pointed at Leo and shouted, "A ROUND OF APPLAUSE FOR THE RETURN OF LEO VALDEZ!" Leo couldn't really hear him over the throbbing subwoofers, but was able to read it off Percy's lips.
Leo didn't know how they knew he'd be here, but he felt honored that they'd prepared a dance number and a little confused why they'd planned it in a club full of monsters.
The disco ball touched the stage and Leo hopped off. This was definitely not what he'd expected to find. Before he could glance around to see if Kalypso or her other friends were in the crowd, or if the Asian girl had dashed off with Kronos's blade, the four boys were patting his back. Jason punched him in the shoulder.
Everyone was smiling. Some part of Leo whined to let this continue. They did care about him. He was important to the group, not just some junky mechanic comic relief. After months of being away, he missed these guys!
Leo tried to play it cool, but had trouble when Jason and Percy picked him up and threw him in the air. Once they caught him, Leo tried to shout, "Woo! Guys! We can party extreme later—we need to catch a person first!"
But no one seemed to hear him. To be fair, no one probably could over the music. He had to wonder where the sound booth was so he could mute it.
The monsters were shouting, "Dance! Dance!" in a throbbing beat of itself. Will motioned for him to take the center of the stage. Leo wasn't used to dancing like this, but—if one dance would get these guys to focus on their quest at hand—he figured he had to oblige.
The five male heroes of Olympus lined up on stage in just enough time to sing to the song's bridge: I jizz right in my pants every time you're next to me. Will and Jason were perfectly lined up with their significant others. Piper shouted out a giggled laugh as Jason winked at her and mouthed the words, And when we're holding hands, it's like having sex with me.
Nico looked like he wanted to kill someone, but what else was new? Or really, that he’d just resigned himself to the fact that the rest of the guys were being awesome.
Though… Jason’s behavior seemed a little… off? Leo hoped it was just because Jason was glad he was here, and not because he’d had another amnesia session.
Leo didn't care if he looked stupid while dancing. All five of them did. He kinda wished Calypso would be able to see this. She'd find it hilarious. He got giddy when he saw her walk up alongside Nico in the crowd. She must have found a way to come through the front.
Nico looked about ready to smash his face in with one of the nearby Scytherian Drycean's tails. He sighed and motioned to where Will had taken off his shirt and was swinging it around. Leo didn't care. That kid needed to learn to chill out anyway.
You say I'm premature? I just call it ecstasy. I wear a rubber around--all times it's a necessity.
Calypso, of course, also looked annoyed. Then paled upon noticing everyone else on stage.
Once the song came to an end, the five of them burst into laughter. Percy stumbled, knocking Will and he to the ground. They both giggled.
Nico visibly flinched and looked away. Calypso sighed and pointed at the floor offstage in a come right here Mister motion.
Then it hit Leo how bizarre it was that they were able to convince Frank to do this. Percy and Will? Definitely. Jason? Probably with enough coaxing. Frank...?
Frank seemed to snap out of his revelry. He glanced down at his feet in concern and confusion. Dread coated his expression as he scanned their surroundings.
The song melted into another one by the Chainsmokers. With this song, Leo could see Frank's look of horror spread. Hazel suddenly grabbed Piper, forcing her to stop dancing. Jason's eyes went wide with realization.
Maybe they hadn't planned a dance number for his arrival.
Frank and Jason nodded at each other. Jason grabbed Percy and Frank grabbed Will to drag them off stage. Leo figured he'd better follow close behind. The monsters and some stray demigods cleared space by the stairs for them. Hazel, Piper, Calypso, and Nico made their way to the stage’s exit.
The music clogged for a second and restarted, like it was changing stations. Everything quieted down to appropriate screaming level. As they hopped off stage, Leo could hear Piper gasp, "Oh gods. What just happened?!"
"Nice break dance," a Cyclops laughed, patting Frank on the shoulder. Frank winced, trying to keep his eyes down.
"Thanks," he muttered.
"Yea, that was the best performance since the one with the goats!" a ghoul cheered and winked at Will.
Will fumbled to get his shirt back on. Nico walked over and broke the ghoul's hand. The ghoul whined but didn't dare raise a hand to the son of Hades. He crept away, sulking.
Nico gave Leo a weird grin. "Welcome back. I told everyone you weren't dead. And now you got to see the world’s dumbest stage performance."
As though no one had seen his grand entrance with the disco ball, a wave of excitement washed over the others.
"Leo!" Piper gasped. She wrapped him up in a hug. Over his shoulder, he could see Calypso scowl. Leo gave her a helpless shrug, then tightened his arms around Piper.
"Hey Beauty Queen. I missed you!"
Hazel hopped in to join the hug with a laugh and a quick peck on the cheek. "Leo! We're glad to see you're okay!"
Calypso would kill him for this later.
"You're really here!" Jason said. Once Piper and Hazel released Leo, Jason punched Leo's shoulder, like he didn't remember punching it the first time. "That's for freaking us out."
Jason, miraculously, hit him in the same spot as before. Leo grabbed his arm, scared it might fall off if his amnesiac friend forgot again.
Percy grinned broadly until he caught sight of Calypso. Both their faces fell. She looked away awkwardly and hugged herself.
He mouthed the word, "Oh," softly, having a hard time not staring.
Leo's heart sank a few hundred feet through the floor, maybe stopping close to Tartarus.
"You must have all been enchanted to dance," Calylpso shouted, breaking up their reunion revelry. "A child of Dionysus maybe?"
"Yea... enchanted..." Leo muttered. "That's the only way we could have all been dancing on stage."
"Shut up," Calypso snapped at him. He could tell that she knew he'd done that of his own free will. She looked so tense. Leo wanted to give her a hug, but—after all that hugging he'd done with Hazel and Piper—now might not be the time.
Will put an arm around Nico, seeming to want comfort more for himself than his... was Nico his boyfriend now? They looked kinda boyfriendish..? "Why weren't you affected?" Will asked.
"I don't dance," Nico growled with a blush. "But this girl is right. Calypso, I assume? Merry and her group disappeared. And I think we might want to leave now."
Leo remembered all the monsters around them. None looked ready to attack them. Most continued to dance with the music. Regardless, Frank and Hazel checked the weapons at their belts.
A Cyclops with a XXXXXXXL biker jacket put a large hand over Frank and Jason's shoulder, making both Romans jump in consternation. But the Cyclops just chuckled like they were old buddies. "We have orders not to attack you. Great dance. Can't wait to see it on Hephaestus TV."
"Hephasteus TV?" Frank repeated in horror. "You mean—”
"Yea, that'll broadcast at some point. We aren't killing you in exchange for the video footage. It's already downloaded onto the magical intersnar—”
"Internet," Piper supplied, looking queasy at the thought.
“Yes, the internet. Now this way, little demigods and Cyclops hugger,” he said. He ruffled Jason’s hair at the last part.
Leo glanced at Jason. “Cyclops hugger?”
Jason sighed, “Don’t ask.”
Percy glanced away from Calypso, touching his hands to his pockets like he didn’t know what to do with them. He jumped when he realized someone was missing. “Where’s Annabeth?” he asked, his eyes darting around.
He relaxed when he saw his blonde girlfriend crouched on the ground beside a harpy, scanning for something.
“Hey, Wise Girl—”
She raised her head, eyes distractingly searching the floor until she noticed Leo. “Oh! Leo, thank the gods you’re okay.” Annabeth stood up and stepped over to them. She tried to smile at him and look excited, but she looked agitated.
“Did you like Leo’s welcome home performance?” Percy asked. He still looked shaken by the sight of Calypso. He went to put an arm over Annabeth’s shoulder.
Annabeth stepped out of his reach. “Percy, I’m leaving you for a weasel. As soon as I can catch it.”
Leo coughed on a laugh. She’d said it so seriously. Everyone glanced at her, including the biker Cyclops.
“I didn’t think we danced that poorly,” Percy said lightheartedly.
“Don’t try to convince me otherwise. I know we’ve been through a lot, and I promise we’ll still be great friends—”
“Uh, Wise Girl—”
“But, I’ve made up my mind. I know this is sudden, but you can’t sway me from my new found love of this creature—”
Percy grabbed Annabeth’s arms, the pallor returning to his face. “Oh gods, you’re serious.” He searched the faces of everyone else in their group, most of which were holding off laughs, before landing on Piper. “What’s wrong with her?!” he demanded.
“Calex must have gotten her,” Piper said, mystified. She had a hand over her mouth to contain a smile. “I wonder if one of the others thought Merry’s powers wouldn’t work on Annabeth for some reason.”
“Whatever,” Percy said. “Fix it, Piper.”
Annabeth removed Percy’s hands with calm determination. “There’s nothing to fix, Percy. We’re through. That’s just that.”
Piper shrugged helplessly. “I… don’t think I can. Eros’ powers of love tend to be more powerful than Aphrodite’s. From what Calex said, I think you just need to wait for it to wear off.”
“And get teasing material for months in the meantime,” Leo cheered. He fumbled in his tool belt to see if he had a recorder. “Annabeth, in your most romantic words, can you describe this weasel to me?”
Annabeth and Percy both scowled at him.
Annabeth lifted her nose. “This is serious, Valdez.”
He was shocked Percy couldn’t find the humor in this. Everyone else looked ready to burst into giggles, even Frank. Well, one other person didn’t seem mirthful. Leo’s heart crumbled again when he noticed Calypso. She seemed near tears, still avoiding eye contact with any of them. Occasionally though, her gaze would slip up to Annabeth with a hateful sneer.
What would happen if Annabeth and Percy broke up? Not necessarily over a weasel, but—
“This way, little demigods,” the biker Cyclops cheered.
He rounded their whole group up, Hazel, Frank, Percy, Annabeth, Nico, Will, Piper, Jason, Calypso, and Leo, and directed them towards the exit. Leo stepped to be beside Calypso, but she wouldn’t look at him. He wanted to introduce her properly, but she didn’t seem to want that right now. Maybe it would be better outside of the club, where there was less imminent danger.
“Well…” Hazel said with a little blush, “That was… um… I didn’t know you could dance, Frank.”
Frank blushed. “Let’s never talk about this again.”
“Until it shows up on Hephaestus TV,” Jason groaned. “I wonder if we can find out when it’s airing and get the Stoll brothers to steal Dionysus’ TV that day.”
“I kinda wanna know how we looked,” Will said with a laugh. Nico’s cheeks went a dark red. Leo had a feeling their son of Hades rather enjoyed how Will had looked while dancing. “Whatever, now we’ve lost our main lead on Kronos’s blade and the others. Unless Frank can sniff them out, they’re gone.”
Leo forced his mind away from what must have happened when Percy was on the island with Calypso, and gave everyone a broad grin. Everything would be fine. Annabeth wouldn’t really leave Percy. And Calypso loved him, right?
Besides, they had a job to do. “It’s okay, guys. The Leoman has that covered! Once Superman here flies me to the roof, we can catch a ride on Festus and, I can introduce you to Felix.”
“The dragon?” Frank asked hopefully.
“No,” Leo said with gusto, “The table.”
As they went into the night air, and the Cyclops demanded Jason give him a hug goodbye, Leo calmed down and genuinely smiled. All his friends started asking him the typical questions he’d guess they would ask. Where have you been? What have you been doing? Did you send a silver dragon to attack our camp?
They were excited to meet Calypso, though she seemed really reserved. Leo understood. This was a lot of new people at once. And Percy, but he was trying not to think about that. And the girl Percy left Calypso for that happened to be madly in love with a weasel at the moment.
Leo paused before Jason sky lifted him. “Wait—what weasel did Annabeth see?”
This scene was one of the reasons I wrote this book, s I hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it XD Thanks for reading!
Footnote:
[1] I know Lonely Island put this song out eight years ago at this point… but it was still the most appropriate song for this scene. Though “I just had sex” came as a close second.

chatzy | news
date: 6/7/17 characters: Avery, Macey, Nadia, and Chiron description: Chiron and the Ares cabin have to break the news of what happened to Macey. Her response is not a surprise to anyone.
Nadia sits at a table in the Big House with Chiron and Avery, fidgeting with her thumbs. "I literally have no idea what her reaction's going to be. It's a toss up. Do we have like, a back up plan?"
Avery is sitting on the chair, her feet on it so that her knees are brought up to her chest, resting her head on her knee. She hasn't slept much since the incident. "I don't either, how does one break this to her lightly? She probably already knows something is up. She'll know the minute she walks in too to see Brent not here. I don't blame her if she completely blames me."
Chiron frowns at the table, his arms crossed. "Whatever happens, we can't let her or anyone else leave without a plan. I think the first thing we have to do is find, roughly, where he is and then find the fastest and safest way to get to him." He pinches the bridge of his nose. "I assume they'll be contacting us soon enough, if they made such a show of taking him." After a few more moments of thought, he looks at Nadia and Avery. "This was a situation outside of anyone's control. No one is at fault and I think it's better to focus our energy on getting Brent back."
Macey was running through all the possibilities of why Chiron would've called her to the Big House. Possible options she'd come up with on her walk from her cabin were either that he needed her help (very unlikely), her siblings had done something absolutely ridiculous (very likely), or....well, she wasn't sure what else it might be. She checked her phone one more time as her hip bumped open the Big House's screen door. She hadn't heard from Brent in a while, but dismissed it to the fact that he was probably fighting off monsters with his sisters. Which made looking up to see Nadia and Avery sitting with Chiron all the more surprising. Even more surprising was the obviously lack of the third and tallest member of their cabin. She stopped, blinked, and slowly put her phone back into her pocket, unsure of how to respond, "Um...hi?"
Chiron regards Macey solemnly. "I'm glad you could join us. Please sit."
Macey very quickly got wind of the vibe in the room, and her heart immediately picked up its pace. "Saying I need to sit always means something bad happened." She says, not sitting.
Nadia sighs. "Just sit, girl."
Avery looked down at her nails, biting her lip. "Macey, please, just sit."
Macey does not like the looks on everyone's faces. She frowns, folds her arms, and finally sits down.
Chiron takes a deep breath before speaking. "Macey, something unforeseen happened on this quest and... Well, I'll just be blunt. Brent has been taken."
Macey stares at them with blank eyes for a few moments, processing the words. When she finally speaks her words have an edge to them, "What do you mean he's been taken? Who took him?"
Avery took a gulp. "Felix," she said, softly.
Macey blinked, letting the name fully settle in her brain. "I'm sorry, did you just say Felix?" A simmering feeling of anger began to seep out of her chest, "You mean his psychotic, traitor ex-boyfriend who also has magical powers? That Felix?"
Chiron sighs. "Yes."
Macey looks around at the three of them, her face difficult to read. "How in the hell did that happen?"
Nadia watches Macey carefully. Her words are spoken with care, "We stopped to eat and he appeared out of thin air. He took Brent, the object we were delivering, and the car, and disappeared."
Macey "Okay," She glances around at them again, unsure why no one's getting up or doing anything. Another part of her is being consumed with a dire need to murder a certain son of Hecate. "Well, are we leaving to go get him, then?"
Avery avoided eye contact with Macey. "We need a good plan first."
Chiron "We have no idea where he is, at the moment. It would be unwise to go out and wander blindly."
Macey raises her eyebrows, "Um, I have him in Find My iPhone, we can get his location in like, 2 seconds. I don't know why we're just sitting here and moping right now."
Nadia "And Felix probably knows someone does and will have taken the phone the moment he got him. It's not that easy."
Avery "And what are you going to do when you use it? You can't just walk in blindly. That's not the smartest move. That's like setting yourself up for failure. Like Nadia said, it's not that easy," she replied.
Chiron "Even if you find him through those means, we can't leave unless we're prepared."
Macey throws her hands up in frustration, "Okay. Then lets get prepared and get out of here. Literally every second we're wasting just sitting here talking Felix could be doing fucking gods knows what."
Avery "Brent would kill us if you went," she said.
Nadia rubs her hands on her thighs, "We're all too close to this situation for any of us to be part of the rescue mission. Our close ties with him could jeopardize it."
Chiron nods. "You weren't here when I explained that earlier, but yes. None of you can go."
Avery "Which I know is complete bullshit," she said. "But it's true. Felix could use us to get to Brent."
Avery "We need to come up with a plan not go in and start punching."
Macey doesn't know if it's the jumble of feelings in her stomach or the stress of the situation, but she lets out a laugh. "Sorry, but if you think I'm not going to help save my boyfriend from potentially dying you're fucking kidding yourselves."
Nadia "Do you think me and Avery don't want to go and save our brother? It's just taking precautions. This way less people have a chance of getting hurt, and Brent has a better chance of getting out of there quicker."
Chiron stares at Macey curiously. "You sound just like him," he mumbles. "Macey, this is for the best, I promise."
Avery "He'll use you Macey," she said, letting her legs drop off the chair. "You said it yourself he's psychotic. He'll be a step ahead of you if you do that. We need to be strategic, and you'd be stupid if you run in there to save Brent. I want my brother back just as much as you want him back. But you're blinded right now."
Macey feels the simmering anger from earlier grow to a boil inside of her. Fighting won't help. She purses her lips and looks between the three of them, clearly angry, and after a moment of contemplation, pushes her chair back and stands, "Fine. Whatever. Let me know when you come up with a rescue plan or something." She turns on her heel and walks out of the room, abruptly slamming the door behind her.
Nadia watches her leave, then immediately looks to Chiron, "If we're going with the very déjà-vu-y feeling I've been having this whole time, I'm pretty positive she's going to be leaving camp in about, uh...ten-ish minutes." She sighs, "Do you want us to go after her?"
Chiron heaves a sigh, then nods. "Yes, that sounds like a good idea."
Nadia looks over at Avery and stands, "C'mon, Aves, this probably isn't going to be pretty."
Avery gets up, running her hand through her hair before nodding. "Okay, let's go get her, if she really is pulling a Brent, she'll try to get there as soon as possible."
Nadia nods and walks out of the Big House, making her way back to their cabin as quickly as possible. She bounds up the stairs once inside and, as she expected, finds Macey in Brent's room, throwing all of her belongings and all of the extra weapons she could find into a duffle bag. Nadia glances at Avery and leans on the doorframe. "Going somewhere?"
Macey doesn't look up at them and continues to throw things into her bag, "Technically, I'm not going on camp's rescue mission. So, I'm not actually breaking any rules here."
Avery "You can't do this, Macey," Avery replied.
Macey "If we sit here and take our sweet-ass time coming up with a plan, by the time whoever gets there, Brent will be dead." Her voice is flat; Focused and serious, "I can't let that happen."
Nadia sighs, "God, it’s like I’m living in a never-ending time loop." With purposeful strides she walked over and snatched up Macey’s bag. She held it over the smaller girl’s head and watched as she swiped for it, unable to reach. "You’re not leaving," Nadia gripped the duffle bag tightly, "You know what happens if you leave?" She didn’t wait for a response, "You’re gonna get yourself caught. If you head out of here as some one-woman army, you're gonna get taken. You know how I know? Because what you’re doing? Right now? He did the same damn thing when it was Rae who got taken. So if you do this and get caught, he’ll know it, because he knows you, and he’ll hate himself more for getting you into it. So, you’re not leaving."
Avery froze when Macey said 'Brent will be dead'. "And you don't think, I don't want that to happen? This is my fault. But if you leave, if we let you walk out of this camp and try to be a hero, that's stupid, Brent will kill all of us for that and you know that. You're not an army, Macey, because you not rescuing him doesn't make you any less of a girlfriend, or make you any less caring, it's just makes you reckless."
Macey reaches up and tries to snatch her bag from Nadia one more time, without success. She glares at the both of them, "I don't care. I'm not just gonna sit here and twiddle my thumbs, I have to do something."
Avery walked toward her. "Then help us come up with something instead of fighting us. I know your angry Macey, I'm angry too. Hell, I'm scared, seeing Felix return I thought I was in a nightmare."
Nadia "Also, if you're gonna keep fighting us, I'm gonna have to lock you down in this room so I know you won't leave and I don't feel like doing that."
Macey "You don't—" She jumps for her bag again and gives a loud, agitated groan when she can't reach, "—You don't get it! Fuck. I can't just—Sitting here and planning won't—After everything he—" Her eyes are angry and sad and terrified all at once. "Dammit!" She lets out a shout and tries to shove the two girls out of the way, "I just need to go, okay?! I can't let him die because I just sat here. I can't—!" Her words failed her and quieted down, "I can't live with that."
Avery put her hands on Macey's shoulders. "Listen, Brent will not die," she said. "And I will stay up every second until I figure a way to bring him back here. This is Brent we're talking about. He's been through hell and back way more times than I can count." She fidgeted anxiously, looking at Macey finally in the eyes. "He's strong." That's what she needed to tell herself to not freak out.
Macey stomps her feet on the ground a few times, as if her body doesn't know how else to expel all of its energy. All she keeps seeing in her head is the night Jack got hurt over and over again. "You don't get it, that's exactly why I need to go. He doesn't—" Instinctively, she presses the heels of her palms into her eyes sockets as hard as she can, keeping the rising feeling of tears from going any further. She sighs, hands still to her eyes, not shaking Avery's hands off of her shoulders, "He doesn't deserve this."
Nadia slowly lowers Macey's bag as the other girl speaks, fairly certain they're in the clear.
Avery "No, he doesn't," she said, wrapping Macey in a hug. "We'll find him, if it's the last thing I ever do, we'll find him. No time to waste right? We need to get crackin' on a plan, the sooner we get a perfect fool proof plan, the sooner we get someone to him."
Macey can't help her natural response of stepping out of the hug rather than hugging back, finally lowering her hands from her eyes. She turns and kicks at his bed frame a few times, "This isn't fair. This isn't fucking fair. He's been through hell and it's fucked him up and he doesn't talk about it, and now he'll be even worse."
Nadia feels awful seeing Macey so distraught, and she's hurting, too, but, someone needs to be the voice of reason, "Contemplating and speculating won't help. If we're gonna save him as soon as possible, we all need clear heads and to be focused." She drops Macey's bag onto the floor and steps closer, "Maybe we should all lay low and get a good night's sleep, then come back to this in the morning?"
Avery dropped her hands to her sides when Macey stepped from her. It broke her heart to watch Macey like this. She sighed. "I don't think I'll be able to sleep," she said, though she was clearly exhausted, she then looked to Nadia and then back to Macey, her hand fooling around with her bracelets. "But Nadia's right, having a clear head would work better for this."
Macey shakes her head. She had to pull herself together. "No." Her fingers slide under her eyes, trying to fix the eyeliner she previously smudged, "We don't have that kind of time. I mean, if you guys need until the morning, that's fine. I'll start brainstorming or whatever. I just...need to take a shower or something. Gimme like, a couple hours."
Nadia sighs, then nods, "Do whatever you need to do, girl. We're with you. I know I definitely need to sleep on this, though."
Avery "Honestly, I probably won't be able to sleep, I'll be here, thinkin'," she replied. "We'll get him back Macey, we will."
Macey presses a hand to her lips and nods. "Yeah. Okay. Um," She nods again, walking around in a circle before finding the bag by Nadia's feet. She grabs it and places it back on his bed, "I'll text you if I come up with anything. Um." Macey looks between Avery and Nadia, "Thank you. For telling me."
Nadia gives the best little smile she can muster, knowing from Avery's attempt at a hug touching probably wasn't the best idea. "Of course. I'll see you in the morning." She gives a little head jerk to Avery, motioning for them to probably give her some space.
Avery saw Nadia and gave her a little glare, though it was telling her that she got the message. "Wouldn't ever keep it from you," she said, before starting to walk out of the room.
Macey watches them go, and, when the door shuts behind them, drops face first onto the bed. She squeezes her eyes shut and waits for a moment, thinking maybe Brent will walk in and tell her it was all a joke, but he never does. The room is silent and his bed smells like that stupid cologne he likes. She stares at a picture of them on his dresser. It hurts. Macey gets up, grabs some new clothes from her bag, and walks out the door.

chatzy | thanks, utah
date: 06/05/2017 characters: Brent, Nadia, and Avery description: The Ares children experience a slightly very unfortunate hiccup on their quest.
Nadia pushes her hat out of her eyes, failing at her attempts to nap, and sits up. "Please tell me we're out of Wyoming by now."
Avery "You asked that like 20 minutes ago, it's still a no," she replied, sending a quick text back to Mikey on her phone before going back to her drawing she was working on.
Nadia mutters, "I hate Wyoming.”
Brent squinted past the sunlight at the sign ahead. "One more hour. I think."
Avery "You know you guys didn't have to do this," Avery said, probably for the hundredth time since the trip began. "I would've bit the bullet and done it."
Brent "I would've never let you go on your own," Brent said, looking at her through the rearview mirror. "You're stuck with me no matter what."
Nadia waves her hand, "Ditto."
Avery sighed. "Why the hell did I have to go? Was that what it was like with your quest?" she questioned Brent.
Brent shrugs. "Ares said he picked the two of us specifically, but he probably just did that because he knew we were on bad terms and he thought it would be fun, or whatever." He glances back to his sister. "I bet anything he was just being an asshole because he felt like it. Don't think too hard about it. We'll be done soon enough."
Nadia "He just likes picking on all of us." Her next words are purposely a little louder than need be, as if he could hear, "Because he's an asshole."
Avery "I don't know what going on a quest means, does it mean it's getting bad again or it's just Ares being an asshole," she said.
Nadia "Technically they're a thing that's supposed to happen often. So it doesn't mean anything's getting bad. They're just annoying."
Avery sighed and went back to her drawing. "Well, it sucks."
Brent "It does," he said, turning up the radio. He drives in relative silence for a while, eventually making it into Utah. "We're close to where Wyatt and I crashed," he mused, looking at a directional for the Great Salt Lake "We can stop and get some food in Salt Lake, if you two want."
Avery "As long as there's something gluten free, I'm in," she replied.
Nadia "As long as you don't drive us into the lake, I'm also in." She smiles.
Brent rolls his eyes, cracking a small smile. "I think I can make that happen," he said, pulling off the highway.
Avery "Can we take a road trip one of these days, non-God related?" Avery asked, popping her head in between the seats. "We could get Wyatt and Mikey and Macey and Jacob and Rae in on it too. Staring at that package fuckin' bums me out and totally ruins this whole driving across the country vibe. I never got a real road trip in my life, I want that."
Nadia thinks about it. "I think Macey and Rae would like, bicker the entire time, but besides that it could be fun?"
Brent "I don't think they'd...." He pauses. "Well... You're right. It sounds fun, though. Maybe the three of us can take a slightly more scenic way back."
Avery "Yeah, but it's not like we'll leave them in a room alone, oh my Gods, would Macey kill me if I left her in a room alone with Rae?" Avery smiled jokingly. "But taking the more scenic way back sounds nice, some what sibling road trip, that sounds okay I guess."
Nadia "I mean? I don't think she'd kill you, they'd just probably see who could out-annoy the other?" She nodded along with Brent's idea, "I'm cool with the scenic route back, too."
Brent "Great. Anything is better than driving through cornfields for twelve hours."
Nadia "TRUE."
Avery "I feel like I'm in like that Children of the Corn movie. Granted I've never seen that movie, I'm just guessing it's a scary movie about children in a cornfield."
Brent drives through the city for a bit until he finds someplace promising. He parks and immediately steps out of the car, stretching.
Nadia stretches her arms over her head and hops out of the car, turning her baseball hat around so she can see. "So, this is what Utah looks like."
Avery got out from the car, stretching a little also before throwing her hair up in a messy bun. "You know, I thought it would look different than this."
Brent laughs as he walks to the restaurant. "What were you expecting?"
Avery "I thought it was going to be more dull," she replied with a shrug.
Nadia squints at the restaurant and the parking lot, "Um, is this place even open? We'r like the only car here..." She jogs ahead of them to check the hours listed on the door.
Brent is about to follow Nadia when he hears something behind him. He turns but sees nothing, but his hand hovers to the hidden sword in his pocket as he checks the other side of the car.
Avery "It's like 4pm," she says. "What restaurant closes that early?"
Brent doesn't find anything on the other side of the van, either. He hesitates, then starts to walk back around when a blinding pain spreads from his abdomen through his entire body. He gasps and crumples to the ground, stars in his eyes.
Nadia whips around when she hears a thud and sprints back over to Brent, "What happened?"
Avery is closest to Brent, and she barely has enough time to process a thought before she's running toward him. Her hand on a dagger. "Brent, what's wrong?"
Brent grabs one of their sleeves and holds on tightly, squeezing his eyes shut. He tries to say something but only succeeds in making a pained noise as he writhes on the ground.
Avery gripped her dagger a little harder, surveying around them, taking deep breaths as she walks a few steps from Brent, her heart pounding.
Nadia reaches down and puts a hand on his arm, "Avery, help me sit him up."
Avery returns to Brent and helps her sister with him, biting her lip anxiously. "What's the hell is happening?"
Nadia "I don't know, but I'm guessing something bad. Probably monster related. Be ready."
Brent goes still as the pain suddenly subsides, gulping for air. "Fuck," he whispered, pushing himself up. "Fuck."
Avery is there to help Brent. "Are you okay?" she questioned, quietly, her dagger still in hand.
Felix appears out of thin air behind the three. "Hiii," he chimes, waving his hand. He grabs Brent by the shoulders, and in the same instant, disappears with him. The car, at the same time, vanishes, leaving Nadia and Avery alone.
Nadia has no idea what just happened and spins around approximately three times in shock.
Avery eyes widened. "What the fuck just happened?" she asked letting out a shaky breath. "Was that just...? Am I having a nightmare?"
Nadia stares where the car was, as if it's gonna reappear somehow. When it doesn't she presses a hand to her forehead, "Fuck! Fuck, fuck." She pulls her phone out of her pocket, "I'm calling camp right now."
Avery’s hands shake, staring at the spot where Brent was sitting. She takes out her phone, fumbling with it, tears welling up in her eyes trying to attempt to call Brent, hoping somehow that would magically make him show up. "He took him, He took Brent, Nadia," she rambled out, trying to type in the right number on her phone. "This can't be happening. What are we going to do? Shit, this is my fault, I should've went on this stupid thing alone."
Nadia walks over to Avery and puts her hands on her shoulders, taking in a deep breath, "Okay, Aves, I need you to stay calm. The first rule of a quest is to stay cool, even during shit like this. We're gonna call Chiron and get back to camp as soon as possible. And then we're gonna go rescue Brent."
Avery "How the fuck are we going to get back, the fucking car is gone," she said, not staying calm, she could stay calm but the moment her siblings were in trouble was when Avery lost it. "Half our weapons were in there, the package was in there, our things were in there."
Nadia does her best to keep her chill and not snap. She pulls her phone from her pocket and gently lets go of Avery's shoulders, "We're demigods, Chiron has connections exactly for this kind of an emergency. Let’s just call camp, and then head to a store and see what we can do about supplies."
Avery nodded slightly, taking a hard gulp. "Okay, okay," she agreed, looking from Nadia to the spot where the car and her brother once was, before looking at her phone, hoping this was just a horrible another nightmare like the ones she used to get after the war ended and she'd wake up soon enough to find everyone safe.
Nadia gives her a little smile. "Good, I'm gonna call camp. Do you wanna like, Google nearby stores around here?"
Avery nodded. "Sure," she responded quietly, doing as she was told by Nadia, struggling to type it in her phone with trembling hands.
