Finding Out You’re Stronger Than Them - Logia Edition (Smoker + Ace)

Feeling very stuck with my WIPS lately, so I decided to try my hand at a bullet-point style drabble. Ace’s and Smoker’s went fine, but Crocodile’s and Kuzan’s immediately grew into something too big for a bullet point list and will be posted separately, if I can get them to a point I’m happy with. Have these two for now.

Smoker

You’ve been rising quickly through the ranks. Smoker’s heard that you’re strong, but by the time you get assigned to him, he has yet to see it for himself.

You’ve followed all of his orders thus far, and past reports on your behavior are generally positive, so when you block him from chasing a pirate one day, he’s taken by surprise.

“This one’s innocent. I saw it for myself. He’s trying to support the village.” You get into stance, eyes blazing with defiance, fully ready to take on your captain.

“It doesn’t make a difference,” Smoker says. “He’s still a pirate.”

“He only stole from nobles. People who wouldn’t miss the wealth. It makes every difference.”

“Get out of the way.”

“No.”

He turns into smoke to go around you, but you grab at where his ankle would be, your haki forcing his body back into shape, and swing him into the ground with such force that stars dot his vision as the wind is knocked out of him.

No one told him you could use armament haki.

“I’m stronger than you. Don’t get a big head because you’re my superior. I’ll surpass you soon.”

“I could have you court-martialed for this,” he gasps.

“Then do it. See if I care. That person was innocent–I know I did the right thing. I don’t give a shit about your opinion,” you pause, then add, “Captain.”

You crouch next to him as he struggles to sit up, still dizzy from the brutal impact. Picking up his cigars that have fallen, you dust them off before sticking one back in his mouth and putting the other in yours. You take an experimental puff, wrinkle your nose at the taste, and deftly twirl the cigar between your fingers. He finds himself staring as you exhale, smoke curling around your profile.

“I requested to be transferred to your unit because Tashigi told me you were different from the others,” you say, and pop the second cigar into his mouth as well. “So don’t disappoint me, Captain.”

The blush on his face is from indignation, or that’s what he tells himself. It’s the audacity. You have some nerve to talk to him that way. To lay your hands on a superior, to obstruct the law.

And yet. He shouldn’t, but a part of him–a big part of him–can’t help but admire your conviction. Enough so that he doesn’t report your insubordination.

It’s always refreshing to find a soldier who thinks for themselves, but it’s also dangerous if you cross the wrong superiors. (God forbid you talk back to someone like Akainu, which Smoker knows you would do without hesitation.) 

Smoker will have to keep an eye on you, to make sure you don’t get into trouble you can’t get out of…

Ace

One day, Ace realizes that in all the months since he’s officially joined the crew, he’s never seen you fight, not even to spar.

When he asks Marco about it, he says, “Oh, that’s because of the collateral damage, yoi.” Ace thinks Marco is joking and laughs. Marco does not.

But can you blame Ace? You’re one of the gentlest pirates in the fleet. You’re the kind of person who stops crewmates from squishing bugs, and who’s so stricken by the dead dogs at the end of your novels that you cry for days afterward (getting to hold you when you seek him out for comfort rules, but why you keep reading those, he does not know.)

After a battle with an enemy crew, one in which you don’t participate, Ace asks some crewmates why you abstained.

“Same reason Pops doesn’t join the small fights,” Haruta says. “Too messy, you know?”

“Wait, just how strong is Y/n?” Ace says, now realizing Marco was being serious earlier.

“Don’t worry about it, Ace,” you say behind him, making him jump. “Just know I’m stronger than you.”

That stings his pride, enough so that he challenges you to a friendly match while crewmates exchange glances.

“Sure, after you’ve rested from this fight. I’d hate to have a handicap.”

“I’m not tired! I can take you right here, right now.”

“Right now?” At Ace’s nod, you shrug. “Well, okay then. Here I go!”

You vanish.

He can’t sense you anywhere. By the time he figures out you’re behind him, it’s too late. One of your hands wraps around the back of his neck, the other on the hem of his pants. When he can’t escape by turning into flames, he knows you’re using haki.

You proceed to slam him face-first into the deck so hard he breaks straight through it, stuck upside down in the wood. The crewmates on the floor below blink up at him.

“You challenged Y/n, didn’t you,” one of them says.

Once his head stops swimming, Ace pulls himself out. His nose is broken and bleeding and he’s covered in scratches and splinters, but he’s looking at you with a newfound sense of awe.

“Logia types,” you shake your head, lip curling, “always so full of themselves.” Then you look stricken. “Oh, I hurt Moby again... Pops will scold me…”

And, look.

Ace knows what he likes. He’s not ashamed to say he found the whole thing extremely hot, but he has the decency to keep it to himself. (Literally the entire crew could tell, but no one tells Ace that either.)

He can’t stop thinking about the fight (if it could even be called that.) He stays awake at night, picturing the way your mouth moved when you said ‘Logia types,’ the little smirk afterward. He had always liked you, but now there’s a newfound aspect to his attraction, and he’s down bad.

Ace wants to know even more about you after that, asking you about your history and how you learned to fight. Luckily, you don’t mind the attention, and your humoring him feeds into his ego until he’s practically following you around in his free time. The rest of the crew takes notice, teasing him about being your shadow–but you never complain, so why should he care?

You've been spending lots of time together since then. He keeps fantasizing about saying “my partner can kick your ass” to people, but he hasn’t actually asked you out yet. It’s unlike him to be so gun-shy, yet every time he works up the nerve to ask, he only gets as far as “Hey, Y/n?” before your sparkly-eyed, saccharine “Yes, Ace?” crumbles his confidence to dust. But he’s Fire-Fist Ace, damn it! He faced Pops alone to save his crew, so why is this so difficult?

If he asks the other Division Commanders for help, expect a Looney Tunes style sequence of each one suggesting a courting method and it failing spectacularly and going up in literal flames, until he finally gets so frustrated with the whole thing he ends up just shouting his confession.

Bonus:

“There, there,” Ace says, patting your back while you cling to him and sob into his shoulder. “It’s just a stupid book.”

That was the wrong thing to say. With your emotions already running high, your misery shifts to rage in an instant.

“YOU JUST DON’T UNDERSTAND THE BOND BETWEEN A KID AND THEIR DOG BECAUSE YOU ATE EVERY ANIMAL YOU ENCOUNTERED GROWING UP!!” you wail, then hiccup, sob, and bury your face into his chest.

Ace wisely decides not to point out the food scarcity of his home island. There are better times, and at least you’re holding him tight...

I have written many meta posts and s3-theories, and read even more, but I got hit by an idea I have not seen before. (If there is another post, please link it!)

After vibrating for an hour and losing my mind in my dms, I have no scraped together enough brain cells to present what is probably my first actual 'main-plot meta'.

Welcome to another edition of Alex's unhinged meta corner, today with a title to honour Crowley's James Bond obsession and the possibility of another heaven heist.

From Jesus with Love - You Will Live Twice

Now, let's get right into it.

I think Neil might have told us more about the main s3 plotline in the announcement article than we previously thought. We all got stuck on 'they're not talking'—for good reason—but it is the part before that which has been bugging me ever since then.

The plans are going wrong—and this time that is a problem for earth and humanity. Turning that around, it means that whatever that plan consists of would be the way to go and beneficial for everyone, the opposite of the main plot of s1.

"They need to prevent the Second Coming (SC)" is pretty much the only and most popular idea I have seen, hundreds of fics and metas and whatnot have been written about it, but I think there's a good chance we're wrong. If we're not, well, I will honestly just be happy to be watching season 3.

Whatever the Metatron is planning will have negative consequences for everyone, or as Michael puts it: "And so… it ends. Everything ends. Time and the world is over, and we begin Eternity… forever and ever."

It sounds very much like Apocalypse #1 - Same Old Plan, same expected result, yet if we look at different interpretations of scripture we find that the SC is not entirely about complete destruction and death for all of humanity—it is about creating a new world/migrating to the kingdom of God.

Resurrection and life in a world to come are a direct contradiction to the result Michael is explaining—total annihilation of humanity.

Now, I am neither religious in any way nor have I ever received any sort of biblical education. Luckily, Christians seem to love talking about the bible because there are dozens of bible website to wade through. If I get anything wrong, please point it out, I have never touched a bible in my life.

So, after reading many, many quotes by a bunch of different guys, I tried to create a somewhat coherent picture of what the SC might look like based on the assumption that the end result is positive. I will talk about how they can be interpreted more in-depth later, otherwise this would turn into a string-net very fast.

Additionally, we can also see where these points overlap with the statement Jimbriel gave in the bookshop in episode three.

What is Jesus' job description?

only God knows when and how exactly it will begin/happen, no one else does, including Jesus and the Metatron

a lot of different catastrophes are mentioned or quoted as something Jesus said, like earthquakes and storms -> Jimbriel mentioned a tempest and great storms

there is also the line "All these are the beginning of birth pains." Birth pains dictate that there will be a birth���birth of the world to come perhaps?

dead people will be resurrected/leave their graves so that they too can be judged (I'd say participate in it but that sounds like the Second Coming is a summer camp activity)

there are also mentions of stars and the heavens in general falling from the sky and the sun going dark -> Jimbriel also mentions darkness as one of the signs

great lamentations, as Jimbriel says, are also a part of many different passages, with humans mourning the world as it was

the Lord will descent with the voice of an Archangel and the sound of a trumpet/the trumpet of God; the grammatical structure of that sentence seems to be interpreted differently depending on who you ask, but the voices of angels/an Archangel and some sort of trumpet are common terms

once everyone is in heaven/wherever the 'main even' will take place, a judgement call will be made for every single person in relation to the book of life, which decides whether they will be punished forever or not (one passage talks about a lake of fire and mentions it several times in a row)

And this is where it gets tricky. To figure out what the SC looks like, we first need to understand a) what the Metatron's capabilities are, b) what he has to lose, and c) what exactly would be a threat to him.

If you ask me, all of this comes down to the Metatron wanting to stay and be in power for eternity with full control over angels so he can do as he please, aka keeping the system running as it is.

We know the book of life (bol) is a thing in the Good Omens universe, whether it does what Michael said is an entirely different question. So far, we have also only got confirmation that hell collects and tortures souls—in such large amounts that they are understaffed—while heaven looks completely empty.

The Metatron runs heaven as an institution, he seems to be the highest power any of the angels have access to and the one they defer to. He refers to himself as the voice of God and combines judge, jury and executioner, making him one great celestial dictator.

From what we know of hell, they do things a lot more democratically, having different councils, dukes, and ranks that are responsible for different levels of command.

We also know that that the Metatron wants the world to end, his goals can probably be summarized as the statement Michael makes, which would leave him in charge without any opposing forces.

We also also know that he sees Crowley and Aziraphale as a threat—why exactly remains a mystery for now—and that the success of his plan hinges on having a Supreme Archangel (SA) he can control. Gabriel decided to become princess of hell and Beez' sugar baby, so he was out of the equation, and after the Armageddon disaster, I don't think he wants to risk failing because of an unfamiliarity with earth (plus, y'know, getting our two idiots away from the plan).

It's interesting to me that right at the end, he says to Aziraphale "We call it the Second Coming"—call, not it is or it will be, CALL. We know that nothing Neil writes is a coincidence, definitely not with such an important line.

Just because you CALL something a specific name doesn't mean it IS what you call it, e.g. Aziraphale calls Crowley a foul fiend when we know he very much isn't.

The Metatron is selling his plan as part of the "Great/Ineffable Plan", so any questions can be blocked by saying it's God's will, it's ineffable. Whatever his plan is, he hides it behind the concept of the Second Coming, which angels know just enough about to understand the basics without having in-depth knowledge of what exactly it entails.

It is a good fucking strategy, I'll give him that, and it WORKS because angels—even if they have doubts—do not question. They simply don't; fear of punishment and millennia of conditioning have left them in a horrible place. When they encounter something unknown, their response is "I already knew that" as to not ask questions.

Crowley questions, we know that, and Aziraphale, ohhhhh, Aziraphale ALSO questions, but he does it in a less dangerous and obvious way. The Metatron is vastly underprepared for that.

(Side note: That alone would be its own meta post, but the gist is that he questions heaven's plans and then adjusts his assumptions of what God might want to what he WANTS God to want, e.g. Job, the Arch)

To summarize everything I just said, the Metatron wants to do what Armageddon failed to do—destroy earth and the universe—so he can be supreme dictator of all remaining celestial beings and gorge himself on power.

But instead of calling it his Big Evil Plan, he calls it the Second Coming, making everyone play along without resistance.

We cycle aaaaall the way back to the sentence I quoted—the ACTUAL plans are going wrong since the Metatron's would mean total destruction.

But what is the SC supposed to be if not the Apocalypse 2.0?

When I look at all the different aspects of the SC and assume a positive outcome, then the end result to me would be a new world that is pretty much like the old world, or maybe even literally the old world but with any destruction reversed. Heaven and hell get dissolved since now that everyone has been "judged", they as institutions are no longer needed, they have fulfilled their purpose.

No more judgement means there is no reason to keep track anymore, so why do you need to run celestial corporations whose only job is doing exactly that? You don't—and THAT is what I believe is the biggest perceived threat to the Metatron, losing full control over everyone and everything, losing his position, his title, and whatever else he has.

On top of that, Good Omens has told us again and again that God doesn't seem to give a fuck about good and evil anymore, and that without heaven and hell being all wrapped up in it, humanity would have 100% free will without any consequences.

Maybe the BoL is empty, maybe it isn't real, maybe Jesus stole it to straighten a wobbly table, who knows. There is a chance it is what Michael says, but I would admittedly find that a bit. too obvious and boring since it would boil the plot down to "they save their own asses again" and not "they save humanity at all cost".

Regarding Crowley and Aziraphale's role in this—I have Thoughts TM but those definitely need their own post. In short, they have to get the SC back on track, the real one.

3. Renarin asks Kaladin for help with radiant stuff during WOR. Secret training. Everyone thinks they're fucking. Chapter 1 and Outline/Meta

4. Elhokar drunk orders kaladin to bedchambers, begs for help keeping away nighmare creatures. Kaladin nearly kills him before scary spren realization, then goes into serious radiant mode when syl gets concerned. Everyone thinks they're fucking. [Note: I might be too easily entertained by this trope]. Kaladin is deeply pained by this but also has people saving thing and really doesnt want to reveal the radiance to the whole camp. Earlier third oath. Eventual fucking optional.

5. Crack. AUs 3, 4, and 9 at same time so people just think Kaladin is the Kholin Rhysadium. Bridge 4 offers government overthrow if he's being pressured. kaladin assures them that's not it. Now people keep trying to high five him. Kaladin with head in hands while Moash snarks over his shoulder "you know when i said fuck the lighteyed i didn't —" Kaladin definitely asexual in this one.

6. Hesina and lirin come to shattered planes, shocked/thrilled/emotional to find kaladin. Bridge 4 desperately trying to get approval of [bugs bunny meme our] parents. Lirin reluctantly adopting renarin who wants to learn about healing now for some reason. Blackthorn surgeon mutual loathing/ jealousy son swap hilarity. Lirin is having a time. 

7. Kaladin wasn’t on guard duty the night of szeth arrival. Still warned by syl about assassin, but has to dead sprint while glowing to get across camp fast enough, soft reveal to anyone outside. Only barely figures out wall running on the way over to crash in window just in time. Szeth freaks out and runs away after very short, mildly anticlimactic interaction. And now Kaladin has to deal with Everyone.

8. Kaladin further along in powers during initial szeth fight. Battle of champions degrading to slap fight when they run out of stormlight and get stuck on the plains. Concept/ Ask, Funny Severed Leg

9. Manufactured rumors about adolin/kaladin. Effective political mudslinging for most of WOR. Shallan plays up things about her relationship with Jasnah to be a more appealing beard.

10. Kaladin has a meltdown in prison, breaks out of his cell. Just a little bit more stormlight...Shouts of alarm. Aaah glowing Assassin in white! Kaladin panics more. Adolin handles the situation like a champ. Kaladin maybe briefly kidnaps him.

11. Nale goes after kaladin instead of lift. Ohhh so many thoughts for parallels.

12. Syl immediately dive bombs pattern when kaladin and shallan meet. Really early radiant reveal but just to each other. Kaladin does not trust her but doesn't want to reveal his own status so just watches her super intensely...since she's also constantly watching him too, yes, this gets misinterpreted, but she actually picks up on and avoids that interpretation. See au 3 through 5 but more discreet. Veil is the one dragging him from the barracks for late night 'training sessions' [these are actually training sessions but veil flirts outrageously with kaladin when anyone's in earshot] so people are more focused on Veil/Kaladin.

13. Adolin, suspicious after the Assassin in White fight, was secretly following kaladin at night. Sees him step off a ledge into a chasm (I just reread the section and was like?! You glanced over your shoulder once?!). Adolin spends the whole night stewing in regret, anger, grief, guilt (I was there. I could have yelled. Should have done something. I didn't realize...I didn't know. I didn't know anything). Next morning Kaladin is on guard duty and adolin flips his shit, suddenly remembering that the whole reason he was suspicious of this guy was because he inexplicably survived a several hundred foot drop.

14. Kaladin barely manages to hold it together just long enough to out himself as radiant right after prison. Part One, Part two

15. Kaladin does NOT hold it together after getting arrested.

16. Kaladin swears third oath early. Next few weeks involve a lot of hiding glowing bridgeman squire antics and gaslighting people about kaladin's intermittently light eyes.

17. In the initial confrontation with Szeth, Kaladin pushes a bit harder about the radiants being back, Szeth spirals a bit more, crashing realization that he isn't truthless...

17a.  Earlier radiant reveal: szeth surrenders the honor blade and then immediately collapses into the ground. Kaladin drags him and the blade upstairs. Has to reveal himself now because 1) kaladin what the fuck how and 2) the assassin is mumbling about radiants. 17b. Szeth commits suicide by cop Radiant. Kaladin takes honorblade, collapses. When he wakes up hes injured, surrounded by lighteyes and a handful of his men. Intense panic attack about dooming them all by winning a shardblade, maybe a full ptsd flashback because Very Specific Shardblade Winning Trauma. Crazy two nickles moment. Downside: cries a lot in front of people he'd rather not have cried in front of. Upside: Dalinar believes him about Amaram now. Public windrunner powers, but obscured Radiant reveal because glowing assassin sword is very clearly granting magic powers. Weird interactions of honorblade bond and nahel bond. Lot of interesting fallout from Dalinar having his very own Mystical Assassin now.

18. Kaladin sends Syl to spy on the 'horneater princess', one sided radiant discovery. When she sends pattern to spy on bridgeboy, he somehow notices. Shallan does not handle it well. 

19. Something something people put together all the impossible stuff Kaladin's done with all the impossible stuff the Blackthorn did as a youth, combined with one of bridge four drunkenly talking about their best theories for the Captains 'mysterious backstory,' combined with Dalinar literally calling Kaladin son and seemingly overnight the warcamps are convinced that Kaladin is Dalinar's bastard child.

20. (COLLABORATIVE with @gnecrognomicon) Instead of being thrown in prison, Elhokar orders Kaladin be strung up for the Stormfather's judgement. Part One, Part Two

21 to 30 Non Words of Radiance AUs

22. Way of kings au where the beggars of alethkar are rounded up for the war effort. Jezrian, of course, ends up on bridge four.

23. Kaladin time travel au to way of kings only the transition is a bit like a spren going from the cognitive to material realm, so he's not all there. Heartwarming bridge four bonding slightly to the left - sure the mans crazy but he looks so disappointed when we don't help with the injured, and he shares his food like an idiot. How does someone seven foot tall and stronger than a chull make axehound pup eyes. We're not following him though. He's not our lead - holy heralds balls is he glowing??  Bit more of a symbol than a friend, but a symbol that you take turns holding at night because he has really bad nightmares and also hes clingy.  Eventual 'oh shit he's a messed up herald' conclusion.

24. COLLABORATIVE / stone soup with @sweetteaanddragons : adolin and kaladin time travel to way of kings. Kaldin brooding about how to escape AND save all his men AND the world until adolin barges in and buys everyone. 

'Thank the almighty,' Kaladin thought with almost painful relief, watching Adolin argue haughtily with a growing swarm of Thadeus's lighteyes. 'I never thought I'd actually appreciate having a rich friend.' He would, of course, rather die than admit this. "I had it handled," he growled, when the two finally managed to speak inconspicuously, each weaving amongst a thousand confused former bridgeman, speaking quietly with several, until they were able to meet in the middle with reasonable subtlety, all things considered. "That's great, Kal," Adolin said cheerfully, clearly not buying a word. "Say, how would you feel about doing some, you know..." He waved a hand, earning a raised eyebrow from Kaladin. "Glowy stuff for my Father," his voice dropped from a subtle hush to a slightly conspicuous whisper. "So he doesn't disinherit me. I did not have permission for this."  Both pairs of eyes flicked to the side, the Blackthorn's towering figure approaching like a Stormwall. "Uh. Sooner rather than later perhaps."

26. Oathbringer/row au. Adolin doesn’t kill sadeus. Mostly just excuse to dunk on Sadeus for trading one (1) shardblade for mythical warrior who can make his own shardblade. oh look more of your former slaves are glowing now. and THEY make shardblades too!

27A. Elhokar and Kaladin time travel from Elhokar's death in oathbringer to way of kings. Part one, Part Two

27B. Elhokar solo time travels back from Oathbringer death to Way of Kings

32. Szeth kaladin time travel au post book 5, they get their memories back in the high storm right before canon first meeting. Szeth halfheartedly attempting a confused assassination. Kaladin suddenly has shardplate and no scars. It's a whole thing.

33. Kaladin time travel back to wor, book 5 gone wrong. Deeply terrifying from outsider pov. Captain of the Kholin guard, bridgefour leader, is suddenly Full fourth oath windrunner talking about how humans are the voidbringers, they actually need to support the parshendi in bringing one last controlled desolation, and then kill the heralds and also god. Don't worry not our god. Different god. Our god is already dead. If someone else travels back with him then it swings around to a lil bit funny.

34. Post winds and truth, pre sunlit man, crossover with the twilight of mistborn era 2 (i think the cosmere timeline could make sense but if not, oh well). Kaladin gets a boon from his god(s). Requests to learn more about mental health. Has to go to another planet to do so, because mental health research on Roshar sucks. Scadrial's god seems (relatively) friendly and their planet has developed antidepressants AND wellness seminars. Shenanigans with Very Old Wax and the gang.

35. Jasnah, Dalinar, and Renarin (surviving Kholin Radiants) travel from End of World to right after Gavilar's death. Crack. Outline

Isolating: Will have their Darling become mutually dependent on them, usually through attacks on the Darling’s self-evaluation by criticizing their Darling in public, then praising them when they’re alone.  

♡Adam and Eve (Absolute Isolation):

Enclosed World: These Yandere wish to be absolutely isolated with their Darling. May commit murder-suicide with the Darling so that they really will be alone together. Forever.

♡Deprived

Loss: Will do anything to get their Darling back if they lose them. Anything.

Clingy: Clings to their Darling and has to be around them 24/7. Will become mentally unstable if they lose their Darling.   

♡Collector’s Habit

Sampling Urge: As long as they can appreciate their Darling’s body, they don’t care if they’re alive or dead. Darling is like a butterfly, and they’re the butterfly collector.   

Collector: Obsessed with the love interest being their property. Wants to collect everything from the love interest, regardless of its value.

♡Attention Seeking

Self-harm: These Yanderes try to bind their Darling to them by harming themselves.

Making an impression: Will do things that the Darling hates on purpose and try to remain in their memories even in the form of hatred or fear.

♡Observing

These Yanderes simply watch and observe, usually from the shadows. Their Darling is often not aware of the Yandere’s actions.

♡Monitoring

Confinement: Will place their Darling under their monitoring, usually by hiding them somewhere others cannot find. 

Keeping Tabs: Will do actions such as bugging their Darling’s phones or taking photos in secret for the sake of collecting information. These Yanderes are meticulous.

"Call me Dan, for Ancient's sake," he had told them early in the year, was a curious man. He was one of Gotham Academy's more.... unorthodox teachers, less formal as well. He was a science teacher, and despite the urgings of Admin, he never coached for any of the sports GA offered. He was half certain Nightingale was a villain in his career's infancy. All Damian had to do was stop him.

"Dick!” Tim shouted out his older brother, cringing at his voice. Well, actually it was Dick’s voice, but his brother decided to be an idiot so it’s going to be his voice for now. “You said to grab it!” Dick shouted back, from his spot inside Jason’s body. “WHY ON EARTH WOULD I SAY TO TOUCH THE GREEN GLOWING OBJECT?!” “I DON’T KNOW!” “GUYS!” Jason screamed. “It doesn’t matter whose fault it is! Danny seriously hates the Justice League. He tried calling for help in Amity once, and they completely dismissed it as a prank and didn't even attempt to check it out. Something about knowing how ghosts worked and they didn't work like this. Anyways, the Justice League turned up in Amity Park to investigate the GIW and Danny is not having it.

When Danny dies for the first time, he sees something. A masked city with a caped crusader of the night, and a man with a grotesque grin and green hair holding a crowbar over his head. He doesn't find out until years later that his ghost half is the ghost of Jason Todd, keeping him alive.

A magic user manages to get down to the Batcave. Luckily, no one is hurt, but a stray spell hits the dinosaur, making it come to life.

Gotham rogues quickly learned the rules of aposematism. This has resulted in some parents taking the risk of dressing their kids like Robin. This makes most low-level thugs avoid them, but can be a risk when it comes to the bigger rogues and the batclan itself. (Please feel free to make this an inhuman batfamily AU. Preferably not vampires or something. I like it when vigilantes are their own species. They're territorial.)

Narcovember Prompt Roulette List

Saalud a mi gente! We in the Narcos Fandom Forever discord server are excited to bring another 30-day challenge: a multifandom event that we’re nevertheless calling Narcovember. Despite its name, this is open to ALL FANDOMS, NOT JUST NARCOS. Creators are encouraged to submit fanworks (fic, art, gifs, vids, op-eds) for any fandom your heart desires!

This event's format is a bit unconventional. Instead of a prompt for each day of the month, there's a Prompt Roulette Wheel and a Prompt Index (☟ below) featuring numbered items with three prompts each. Every day you'll spin the wheel. The number that comes up on the spin corresponds to a number on the index where you can then pick one of the three prompts.

So for example, say on day one, I spin the wheel and get number 8. I’d go to 8 on the index (titled These Damn Restraints). Of those three prompts, I like Yikes best so that's my day one prompt. Next day, I spin and get 14. I find 14 on the index (Decisions, Decisions, Decisions) and pick one of those for day two's prompt. And so on. Note: If, on Day 2, instead of 14 I got 8 again, I’d spin the wheel again to get a new number. If, for whatever reason, you don’t want to spin twice, you can choose another prompt from that "Book of" that you haven't used (e.g. Day 1, I chose Yikes. It bugs me a lot as to why DC seems hesitant/uninterested to explore Dick and Jason's connection more. I saw one of your posts talking about the significance of Jason dying in Dick's robin costume and seeing as Dick is like the only other person aside from Bruce (and I guess Alfred) to really be affected by Jay's death to the point he has hallucinations about jaybin, I think their reunion after Jason's resurrection was lackluster at best. Idk if this is just me holding on to bias, but I find Dick and Jay's relationship a much more interesting dynamic to explore & develop than say Dick's relationship with *** or Damian. So I'm really curious, if it'd been up to you how would you go about their first reunion (specifically after Dick finds out Red Hood's true identity) and the development of their relationship (assuming Jason takes the route of reuniting and reconnecting with his family & preferably with BFTC not existing) moving forward.

i know this was not your main question, but as to why dc seems hesitant to explore dick and jason's connection more, i reckon it would be difficult for them due to retcons to both jay's and dick's personality, which subsequently completely changes their relationship (both in the past and present). but i have already said plenty about it! (in case anyone missed it, my tag for dick & jay is #thousand incarnations of closeness and distance.)

i think post-utrh (and post bludhaven blowing up... dick once again finding himself at a very low point in his life) dick absolutely would want to find jay. there's this paradoxical distance and close proximity all at once that makes the way dick sees jason unique at this point. 80s dick does not know jay as an "angry robin" and did not even know about his breakdown closely before aditf.

of course dick mythologized him some, sure, the way we all do with our dead. the uniform, the name; they make it feel personal. but he's also the one to think "he was your son. flesh and blood. he was real." so the image he has of jay (in the 80s & even some of 90s) is most probably so simple and real. it's just a kind eager boy wearing his family colours. there's no space for fatalizing that bruce, for instance, engages with. dick is the who never allows himself to think that jason's death was an unavoidable tragedy; the one who contempts the idea of the memorial case; the one who is shocked at the lack of pictures of jason in the manor.

and i would like this version of dick to react to jason's return, i think learning about jason as the red hood would perhaps be even more shocking than it was to bruce.

so, the setting: probably either just post-utrh (when dick is also at a low point since bludhaven is gone) or even post-countdown (but with no bftc nor previous meetings between occuring).

you might ask why i'm considering going all the way post-countdown. well. first of all, it's just that i'm so taken by the idea of jason fucking shit up without a mask and canon has deprived us of it. second of all, i think it would make sense for dick not to be able to reach out to him until then, because jason would most definitely avoid him.

to jason, bruce is not only the closest family member, but he's also a figure of authority, a figure that can be rebelled against. in many ways, kids are ready (or in jason's case, trying to brace himself for) their parents' disappointment. but what about your siblings? i genuinely can't think of a sadder occurrence than your siblings giving up on you. and jason has always looked up to dick; and dick has always been so gentle with him. i don't think jason would be aware of it, but i don't think at this point much could break his heart more than seeing dick reject him. in some ways, that would be a definitive end of jay's childhood, a complete severing of his ties with it, even if those are so fragile and distant. and as much as it would be for character in jason to try to cut this remaining link, i think "countdown" shows that he subconsciously still tries to hold onto them.

so dick is searching; jason is hiding. perhaps dick is following a trail of dead bodies, the plotline focusing on his own moral dilemma and on the horror of seeing what jason is capable of. there's definitely guilt moreso that disappointment, though.

but he finds jason on accident rather than during that chase, and there's a body, and before dick can comprehend what's going on, he acts; he helps jason hide it. it's a messy job and now there's blood not only on jason's hands but also on dick's.

it's not something he would do for anyone else. dick wants to say he won't do it again, or to ask jason to never make him do it again, but he doesn't say anything.

they still argue. they have takeout and eat it in the car, and jason notices dick still listens to the same playlist. then dick gives jason his number and tells him to "stop losing it" even though they both know this is not what happened.

I have been writing for about five years now for the fandom, and I've been here since about the very beginning. Like when we were still figuring out that undertale had a genocide route, lmao. I actually got into UMTV through CPAU and never managed to make it out, lmao. I started posting my writing back in early 2020. this is mostly gonna be a first draft ramble, specifically about kieran. most of this is subject to change at any time.

second disclaimer: this is also a really self indulgent au haha. im mostly listening to my pussy while writing this whole au. im doing stuff that appeals solely to me. it might not make the most sense to you, but there is an easy explanation for every decision i make, writing wise. just ask and i can explain things!!

this post covers only her happier, sweeter ending, as i realized while writing that this alone is so fucking much to read haha. part 2 will be linked here once its out.

Some of these explainations are simple. Sometimes, it's as simple as making the bullet graze the area rather than pierce. Sometimes, I've been thinking for so long and have still been stuck. Sometimes I just change the way the dynamics work out.

Hiii okay so! Basically, the idea with this AU is that the entire gang does live, but the VDL gang crumbles all the same regardless. Yes. Everyone lives. I have been brainstorming for weeks to try and figure out ways the dead members can still go through the events of canon while living.

This, of course, means the final standoff is a lot more tense, and has a lot more peoples emotions involved, and this also means everyone lives until the events of RDR1!

This is not a good thing.

Many of the gang members find themselves stuck in the cycle of poverty, abuse, and violence still, by 1911. Not everyone is as fortunate as John, Abigail, and Jack Marston, or the Reverend, or Tilly. Not everyone wants the same redemption as John, either.

Due to this, John must hunt down all of his family. All of it. At least, those the law and public recognize as members of the gang.

Perhaps the cracks of the gang being destabilized started when John first left. Perhaps he can also push the gang back together for one last hoorah.

Obviously, Kieran still lets Jack out of her sight, he still gets kidnapped, they still bring him back for his party, and she still gets drunk, and nobody notices her initially wander off. This all remains the same.

As for Kieran herself, and her death, I've actually thrown together a couple ways I'd be happy with her story concluding. Unfortunately, I cannot decide which I like better! So, I decided to pull a Dutch, and make Arthur (the player) be able to decide her fate. As with most things in the game, the choices will give Arthur an honor loss, or boost! They both have the same setup, however.

Where I start changing the story, however, is that people do eventually notice her disappearance. Due to her slowly being welcomed into the gang, and very clearly forming some actual bonds and relationships, people do start to search her out. Bill, Mary-Beth, and Sean all begin to worry about her location some time into the party.

It begins by Bill being shamed or outcast in some way. He goes to bug Kieran about it, though struggles to find her anywhere nearby. He awkwardly shuffles to Mary-Beth, knowing the slight romance thats bloomed between her and Kieran, asking if she's seen the guy around. The concern begins to mount when she says, "I thought he was with you," and her brows begin to worry.

This is where Sean butts in. He's been recovering from a head wound, don't worry about it, so his role during the party has mostly been that of an observing drinker. He points out that he saw Kieran drunkenly wander towards the woods, though she disappeared from his sight behind the manor. "I just figured he went to piss! Honest! He has been gone... a long time, though."

By this point, Bill has had enough. He marches up to Dutch and explains the situation, how Kieran is gone in the woods and he knows there are O'Driscolls in those woods, Kieran has been acting paranoid about getting captured by her old gang nearly this whole time, and things are going more and more downhill for the gang. Bill is loud. He always pulls attention to himself.

Dutch responds by dismissing the worries— Kieran is strong, she can handle herself. She went and saved Arthur's life, after all. Sean said she only went to take a leak, right? Why are you, Bill, trying to ruin Jack's party? How could you be so heartless as to make everything about you? A young boy has been saved, you should be celebrating.

I am certain Kieran's loyalty would mean nothing to Dutch by now. He's simply too blinded by the blood fued between his and Colm's gang. Dutch van der Linde is, also, not an idiot. As much as I call him stupid, I doubt he even believes Kieran's insistence that she didn't run with Colm long, or didn't care for him. Dutch knows Colm. He knows the grip Colm has over his flock, the same Dutch has over his own. He believes that, one way or another, Kieran would remain an O'Driscoll, unless he gets to kill Colm himself.

Bill struggles to articulate himself— Why he's worried, why he thinks that they need to be heading out there now, that he's got this awful feeling in his gut, and some people are starting to get worried. Dutch shushes this all, spinning the dialogue in circles and attempting to get Bill to dismiss his own worries as well. If she hasn't come back by now, and there are O'Driscolls in the woods, she probably ran off with them. Use your head, Williamson.

Dutch let Kieran in initially because of his whole "feed people as need feeding" speech to her. He can't go back on that word at first, when people would bring it up. By Jack's party, I doubt anyone even really remembers it but Kieran. There is no reason to keep her around, to keep up those optics, in Dutch's eyes. She has barely been pulling in money and all she does is tend to the horses and take up more resources, no matter how little. Not many people in the gang like her even if they are warming up to her.

Bill, understandably, gets frustrated with this. Gives up, says he ain't even enjoying the party anyway. He's gonna go look for Kieran. Sean and Mary-Beth cannot follow him. Dutch invites Bill to, "be his guest."

This is where player choice is involved. This entire interaction is missable, if you want to miss it. Regardless of Arthur's involvement, Bill will go to the woods to look for Kieran.

Let's start with Arthur being there, and seeing all of this go down.

Bill will then turn to Arthur, a desperate and pleading expression on his face. "Morgan, he saved your life," Bill begs. "You at least owe it to look for him, right?"

And let's have Arthur say yes. Yes, fine, he will help Bill go look for that damned Kieran, O'Driscoll or not. With a decent sized honor boost, they mount up and head out.

Bill eventually finds a trail of footsteps in the mud, following it along with Arthur. Arthur will express his doubts to Bill, but Bill will simply brush them off or ignore them. The footsteps eventually fade into hoofsteps. This is all until there is an abruptly cut off scream from the distance, and Arthur and Bill are racing off.

By the time Kieran is found, she's tied and blindfolded on the back of an O'Driscoll's horse, much the same as you find her atop the back of Arthur's to start. She has already been roughed up, and is only letting out broken sobs by this point.

There are two O'Driscolls, and once Bill calls out to Kieran, it all culminates in a chase through the woods. Hope Arthur brought a horse that handles turns well!

Kieran's struggle quickly grows with the announcement of her saviors, though she is quickly beaten over the head for causing more of a commotion. She is not left unconscious, though she does grow silent besides sobs once more.

Eventually, the chase will burst through into somewhere more open, allowing an easy and clear shot on both O'Driscolls that Arthur and Bill both take. Bill misses, and Arthur must do a little deadeye QTE to keep the O'Driscoll from pulling his revolver and shooting Kieran in the head.

The gunshot startles the horse and Kieran falls. Bill is scrambling to help untie her and get her on her feet. Between broken cries, she's desperately thanking Bill and Arthur, trying to pull herself together from hysteric sobs. She can't stop talking about how terrified she was of what Colm would do to her, only making it all the more clear that her and Colm have more between them than she wants to admit. That they would likely tie her up, starve her, do all the most awful torture methods to her, she's seen how Colm treats men that aren't his kin anymore, and she's heard the way he spoke about Dutch and his gang. This is all too familiar to Arthur.

The ride back is condensed to a cutscene of Bill proudly riding back with Kieran on Brown Jack with him, Arthur following along. Kieran is welcomed back and tended to, Mary-Beth and Karen taking her. She escaped with only some minor head trauma, a couple cigarette burns on her neck, some awful ropeburn, and some body-wide bruises.

From here on out, she is clinging to Mary-Beth, indulging her desire to settle somewhere some day. The violence and constant kidnappings have begun to wear on her, not to mention Bill telling her Dutch's aversion to go look for her, and the lack of concern from half of the camp still, bundled with the growing guilt of letting Jack escape her sight originally... She decides she just wants anything but this.

When Guarma happens, she stays behind. Despite how Dutch seems insistent to have all hands on deck, she refuses to go, demanding why she should do anything for a gang that likes to pretend it's a family, but is the same as all the others she's been in. Dutch's gaze simple hardens into a glare and he says that they will talk about this once he is back. If Kieran does not wish to go, fine.

While the rest of the working men are gone, she is confiding in Mary-Beth more and more. They continued to get pushed closer from the stress of everything, from the constant worry, from having to pull up their bootstraps. She's quite the hand around the camp when Dutch isnt around, and she continues to prove herself to those who ever doubted her. She also grows closer to Sean, who Lenny urged to stay behind as well, to continue recovering.

By the time the boys are back in town, Kieran is well respected, and has pulled herself together to take care of the people Dutch had left behind. She stands up to him, despite being sympathetic to the struggles they all went through.

She does not involve herself in Colm's death, I don't think. I want to believe her and Sadie fight about it even— Sadie demanding to know what reason she has to not want Colm dead.

Of course Kieran feels bitter about her treatment from Colm. Of course Kieran despises the awful things he has done. Kieran also recognizes that she will never climb out of the cycle of violence she's found herself in, should she continue it. She has no druve to keep the violence going. Even survival seems like a pathetic excuse for it, to her.

This only solidifies her backstabbing nature to those who don't trust her.

By the time the caravan of deserters leaves, she's right there with them, clinging to Mary-Beth still.

Kieran thanks Arthur for everything he's done for her. Even if her life hasn't been perfect with them, and has been a lot more good than bad, she's grateful to him for breaking her from being trapped in the tide. She understands why he stays, and does not make an effort to convince him to leave. She knows the kind of hold Dutch has on him, still.

By the epilogue, she's near impossible to find. Though, there's word that Mary-Beth's got an assistant, who seems a little too old for her position. The assistant never says a word to anyone, though she certainly seems a little too familiar.

And that's her happy ending :)

fnaf movie baseless speculation

I am an ardent Mike Schmidt = Mike Afton defender, and so these are my current thoughts after watching the new security video from the troll game.

First of all, link to the video for the uninitiated:

Onto my initial thoughts!

The emphasis on the forest, alongside the bottle of pills on the desk, that at one point gets grabbed by someone, makes me seriously think about FNAF 4 and how dreams were mixed with reality.

It has bugged a lot of people, including myself, as to WHY there is a Freddy "saw trap" that we see Mike trapped in from multiple trailers. Well, in my totally biased opinion that is because we are witnessing a dream, or more specifically, a nightmare.

It is common for people to bury their traumatic memories, especially if that trauma occurred as a child. It would make sense that Mike wouldn't want to recall what happens.

And are we REALLY acting like nightmares are a STRETCH in this series? We have been over this time and time again.

I just think that its funny that we keep getting little glimpses of William---er i mean---Steve Raglan---only in that office scene. It's bizarre, for such an 'unimportant' character to receive so much screen-time in all the trailers and such. But of course we know that he is William Afton. We have known this since the casting was announced. So why then? Why do we only see such a small fragment of footage of him? (of course, outside of the spring-bonnie suit I mean).

Well, to delve further into the land of speculation, I believe that is because other scenes he is in give away too much of the plot they are keeping under wraps.

I made a joke about it, but it is odd.. that they choose to refer to Mike Schmidt (again, something that we have known since the cast announcement) as just Mike.

So! Back to the new footage.

"Garrett!"

At approximately 2:05 of the video one of the bottom cameras cuts to a someone screaming the name Garrett. Now, to me this is young Mike. In the background I see the same trees from the forest we keep cutting back to. Which one? oh yeah, the ones where we see a discombobulated Mike, seeing dead kids!

Now... wait a second... what do we have here?

From the new footage. A brunette boy, wearing a long sleeved green shirt and blue jeans, running in a patch of dry grass....

I don't know about you. But the sky colored background, with the long narrow lines, can only mean one thing. Trees. And a sky.

Speaking of the pills. RIGHT AFTER we see the saw trap on the monitors, and it goes to the next footage... we see a hand come on screen to take away the pills.

No more pills.

(Yes. they come back later in the video. But the point being SOMEBODY GRABBED THEM after seeing the saw trap footage).

Oh yeah. speaking of the Freddy "saw trap"... where does this attack you? Oh yeah. On the head.

That couldn't possibly be someone's repressed memories about an extremely traumatic event about a certain head injury coming to light in visions or nightmares. Could it?

This is basically a little post game ending AU I made with @demonicintegrity 's help except PK survives (and I also frankenstained our messages together so hopefully it's a coherent story)

Anyway this is super long so I'm putting it under read more

Hollow is sort of aimless and doesn't know what to do with themself now that they've served their purpose so they just. Wander. Until they meet PK and basically decide hey I'm his knight, knights are supposed to protect their kings right? I'll just follow him. Meanwhile, PK's having an awful time and doesn't want anything to do with Hollow but the stubborn bug will. Not. Leave. Him. Alone.

PK also wants them to not be subservient to him and be an actual person and shit but he doesn't know how to go about making that change. First option was avoiding them so they had no choice but to make their own decisions but they just wouldn't. Piss. Off. Second option was just ordering them to be a person. He's not the best at this

Hollow just interprets any suggestion of his as an order and it's one hell of a battle to change that. PK and Hornet essentially try to teach Hollow how to be a person, with mixed results.

Hollow also has a lot of mixed feelings. Hurt and anger mixed with wanting affection and comfort from their parents mixed with feeling they don't deserve that affection and putting them up on a pedestal and treating them as gods and royals instead of parents, any kind of attention or care feels blasphemous to them. They're stubborn and think very badly of themself, still clinging to this idea that they're a tool and are meant to serve. Hell concoction!

They get out of it but. It takes lots of work.

First time they disagree with PK and have an argument, he genuienly celebrates after he cools off. FINALLY they're not just going with anything and everything he says! If only this argument wasn't about Hollow's worth, but...you know. Two step forward one step back.

Hollow also has a mouth now, one The Radiance made. The bottom of their mask shattered to make room for it. They also now have a voice, raspy, rough and painful, and mostly unused because they hate it.

So the first time they use it around PK it's a shock for him

Hollow: Can you stop fucking pacing? The tap tap tapping is going to give me a migraine

PK: Oh, very sorry I just- YOU TALK?

Hollow, nodding:

Pk: since when!?

Hollow: ….. since She was using me to scream

Pk, slapped in the face:

But! On the plus side, now they can eat and taste things. PK's new favourite hobby is getting them new meals to try...for better or for worse,

PK, finding a VERY bitter fruit: "....Hey Hollow, wanna try something?"

Hollow makes a face and that's probably the first time they heard their father genuienly laugh

Proceeds to eat fruit out of his hand like a horse.

And then just. Keeps the fruit there after one chew.

“….. you can spit it out if out if you need too.”

“………. -slowly let’s it slide out of mouth and onto the ground-“

Looks at their father with an absolute look of betrayal

“……..”

“…….. some people like bitter fruits.”

"You could have warned me. You knew."

But their favourite food is berries :] Any berries, as long as they're not bitter. Will wat them right off the branches, often with leaves and stuff because they don't feel like picking them off.

He ans Hornet also teach Hollow how to hunt. And they proceed to hunt regularly for their entire family (the poor tiktik population...)

They just drop a dead bug on their mother's lap all proud and she makes a face

WL: Thank you, but-

PK, through their mind link: DON'T YOU DARE

WL, also through their link: But I don't need to eat with my mouth!

PK: THEY DON'T NEED TO KNOW THAT, LOOK AT THAT FACE!

Hollow, waiting for the rest of her sentence: …….?

Wl: …. I’ll get to it in a moment dear, not super hungry at the moment

Hollow, still pleased with this:

PK helps her burry it so she can absorb it through her roots

PK eventually tells them and they start burying their kills and helps PK keep the soil nutrients rich for their mum

At least once a day Wl looks down and feels hollow digging a hole for their kill for her

Eventually she pats their head and tells them that decomposition, even with her roots, isn’t as fast as eating. So she really doesn’t need a substantial kill each day

Starts giving their dad kills every day instead

Pk, internally wondering about the ecological impact his kid might be having:

Hollow is an invasive species

Gets them to be occupied with something

But their family quickly tries to figure out a different possible hobby before they decimate the local wildlife population

Hornet and Pk at least keep moving around so they have to spend time finding them

Hornet: one day you’re gonna get caught in one of my traps I swear

Hollow: Nu uh

OH PK trying to get them to treat him like family and not authority and I think Hollow going to sleep in the nest he made for them right next to his would be a pretty big step

Because previously being close to him felt wrong, blasphemous, knights aren't supposed to sleep in the same den as their Kings, they're supposed to have their own quarters

Especially since they’ve never really. Seen him sleep before

After first they’re tempted to sit up, still play guard, but Pk tells them to lay down and rest. Put that fucker in a headlock because they absolutely will follow their old programming otherwise

Pk opens eye and sees they’re laying down but clearly just watching him and not actually sleeping.

Just baps their face.

“Sleep”

And keeps his hand their as he closes his eyes

His hand fits squarely between their big eyes

A scene I thought up that I kinda wanna draw (but probably won't)

Hollow's going Through It and PK doesn't know what to do so he just wraps himself around them and hopes physical contact will help calm them down

This is the first full on affection he showed to them aside from that one time he kept his hand on their head as they slept

And Hollow just. Starts crying

They don't know why, their chest just feels tight and...hurts. They didn't realise how much they just wanted a hug from him all these years

"...D...dad..." They croak out in their broken, rough voice between their sobs

It felt like a hit aimed right at his heart, clawing his chest open. They never called him that before. He curls tighter around them and shifts to place a gentle lick on their forehead

"Shhh," He nuzzled them, "It's okay. It's okay, Hollow. I'm right here."

Hollow chewing PK's tail like one of these necklace stim toys and PK doesn't mind because his chitin is extremely hard

He's just doing his own thing while his kid is chewing and growling

PK absentmindedly moving his tail while he works on something and Hollow's playing with it

He only notices when he moves it further than usual and Hollow zooms across the den to catch it

Looks over and Hollow's staring at his tail like O_O

Has to move his tail a couple times to confirm that yes, hollow is zooming

“You’re just like your sister when she was little” (Bold words from somebody who would also get zoomies if his wife put a root in front of his face)

Hollow is also only a nickname, they don't have a proper name and go by their title The Hollow Knight. Others aren't happy about it either but Hollow doesn't care about picking a name. File this in your brain for later, it'll be important in just a second.

Anyway. Hollow has kids.

yknow how some trees when damaged or moved they lay down a ton of seeds to make up for potentially dying? They realize Hornet is missing from the whole silksong shenanigans after growing and being basically okay and better.

Stress and drop some seeds before going to look for her.

And then coming back and seeing some weird ass sprouts in their house/den/whatever

Trips on a growing sprout as they come back home to have their first night of sleep in like three months.

just faceplants and goes yeah its naptime right here

Wakes up to like. 5 whole children

most of them look v v much like a bby Hollow so for a good thirty seconds they think theyre still asleep and just kinda groggy

Gonna panic and scoop the babies up and head for the first family member they can find

"Dad I need help"

"What is it Ho- WHAT IN THE WORLD???"

Hornet, who also just woke up because she just had her first night of full sleep in months: huh

Hornet, not ready to unpack this: Theyre not hungry not injuried and responsive?

Hollow, nodding:

Hornet, rolling over: okay cool its a tomorrow problem then

Oh so helpful sister

Hollow: I don't wanna be a parent :( I can barely take care of myself

PK, looking at the five babies in their arms: I think it's a bit late for that

Hollow: How did this even happen

PK: i dunno youre the one who procreated. Whos the other parent??

Hollow: i dunno I just came back, tripped on a weird plant growing in my den and woke up to them.

Pk: ........ Here hold them I'm gonna go talk to your mother real quick

They have mother fucking Mary situation on their hands. FIVE Jesus bugs

One hell of a conversation did PK have to have with his wife when they arrived huh

“Our kid had kids it seemed.”

“Oh? I wasn’t aware they were seeing someone.”

“They seemed to have laid roots down and kids spawned kids that way my root.”

“Hm”

Hollow after getting a Root birds and the bees talk: Is there any way to stop that from happening again? I think five is enough for me

Luckily the new babies seem well behaved enough. And just kinda. Want to be on or around Hollow.

Dont seem to demand much

Theyre gonna be shocked when five little peeps are just babbling in void speech tho

Hollow decides that maybe being a parent isn't so bad once they figure out they can get the babies to torment their grandpa

the psychic damage pk receives bc they look so so similar to a bby hollow. Affectionately calls them the clones because of that

Another nickname is the terrors because they WILL try to maul him

Hornet, next time she sees the babies and is playing is one of them: Have you named them yet? Hallownestians name their babies right?

Hollow: Spawn one through five.

Hornet: fu-....God help me. Just one through five??

Hollow, nodding and pointing to each kid and knowing which is who:

They dont know how to name. they were never named. they were only ever given titles. described. they dont know how to name. But they know how to observe. One was the first one they saw when they woke up, and so on.

But theyll be observant. the curious one. the chatty one. the active one. theyll all be known.

PK is gonna dig through the Hallownest ruins in desperation to find a damn names book

Maybe recruits Hornet to help

Hornet: Here

Hollow: What's that?

PK: A book of names. You are not naming my first grandchildren One through Five

Hollow: they are getting titles! As they grow!

Pk and Hornet: huh????

Hollow: The first one, they are the curious one. They explore the most, and always want to see what im doing. They like to be picked up to be tall. This second one, the chatty one. Constantly chirping and poking through the void. They will wake their siblings if theyre awake first.

Hornet: That's hardly any better! Titles aren't names either

Hollow: Well, you call me Hollow, don't you?

PK, having a horrible realisation:

Hornet: ............. ohhhhh shiiiittt......

Pk:

Hollow: It's fine. They will earn many nice titles growing up.

Hornet: okay. I get like, Deepnest does the naming after getting to know them but thats a name. Not a collection of random adjectives.

Hollow: Its not random I know them.

PK: ..........I need to find some sort of still living therapist, I swear........

Hollow: Huh???

But the numbers/titles stick. Hollow is one stubborn bitch

One is the curious one, the explorer. Two is chatty, likes to be social. Three is clingy and shy and just wants to be with someone at all times, but if you're not their siblings, parent, grandpa, grandpa or auntie they will NOT like you. Four is a menace, just a little mischievous bug. And Five is the brave one, tries to be the leader and protector of their siblings, has a stick for a "nail" because they wanna be a knight like their parent and brave protector like their auntie.

The mini Hollows are cute. The group of them like to sit in the dirt and watch.

Gets to plan a whole attack on grandpa or auntie

With an excuse of teaching them to hunt and defend themselves early

pk will never see it coming

many of the babies like to dig.

Dig holes. Dig tunnels. Dig and bury themselves in dirt.

Gonna break his damn leg on one of the holes one day when he's visiting Hollow and the grandterrors

menace number four, stepping right on top of every healed wound on Hollow as they climb across them simply trying to lay down and rest:

Hollow:

Hollow: ah

I think it'd be cute if PK teaches them how to groom the babies. He still remembers something from raising Hornet so he helps somewhat. so many wriggly babies to try and keep clean challenge (impossible. they yearn for the dirt)

Nr 1 squeaks and squals in protest and wiggles as grandpa cleans them

They don't wanna be CLEAN they wanna go explore and play in the dirt >:[

Hornet told Hollow once that its important for children to explore and look at different things and see different places.

So they would saddle them all up on their back and go on field trips.

Number four would try to eat a crystal in the mine

It makes pk happy because its actually really encouraging hollow to go out more often and plan to do different things

Whenever they stumble onto each other when they're like that he jokes that the stag of little terrors has arrived

"okay. Attack"

"Wait-"

Pk can fly so it saves him if he reacts fast enough

Grandpa won't play with them?

Cruel and unusual punishment

they cheep and try to chase after him in the air

They do not pay attention and run right into a sewer in the city and make Hollow panic

The children are alright but both pk and hollow panic for a good moment

and they need a proper bath now

The One Time the terrors would like a bath time

But neither their parent nor grandpa want to groom them so into the fountain or lake they go

Poor things get pulled out a shivering wet sad mess

PK: Maybe now you won't try to maul grandpa

Hollow: Nah, just look where you're going when trying to kill

They all immediately climb onto Hollow and shove their little faces into them. No more wet time its time to get out of the rain.

The 5 menaces start attacking PK on their own accord when they grow up enough. Hollow taught them well (PK doesn't agree)

They also eat out of hands like horses, just like their parent. The Foals 💜

PK is feeding the babies berries out of his hand and suddenly mama's looming over him also, waiting for a treat

PK: ...Seriously, you need to think up some names, I'm not calling them numbers

Hollow: They'll get titles with time, it's alright

PK: Titles are not names

Hollow: They're just as good

PK: Hollow-

Hollow: Pale

PK: 🧍

Hollow: ..... thats what I thought

PK: What if we'll find you a name also? Wouldn't you like one?

Hollow: Eh, I'm used to Hollow by now

PK: 🧍

number one would be fascinated by eyes and try. to touch. Bother grandpa. "Please dont"

The five are so used to mama not being warm and then they discover the joy of warm toasty cuddles with auntie and grandparents

Hollow gets abandoned SO fast

Must absorb all warmth

Hollow: The betrayal. My own children. Stabbed me in the back.

PK with babies piled on top of him (and Hornet): Don't be dramatic

Hollow slowly just scruffs a baby one at a time to pull back into their own nest

They're gonna SCREAM for WARMTH. CRUEL PARENT. TAKING THEM AWAY FROM BEING COSY AND TOASTY

plops them in blankets and tells them theyre fine. Hornet and PK can't help but be amused

Mx. "I don't want to be a parent" now being super doting and jealous whenever their babies aren't with them

these are their babies. Their babies who they know well and take good care of thank you very much

They're SO gonna get teased for that. A typical protective wyrm parent. It's cute

Hornet makes the babies little sweaters or cloaks

They're all a little different

From insight from Hollow on their personalities and what they like

theyre all silent/can only speak in void. So gauging some personality needed some help.

Hollow is so pleased they all like their new cloaks.

And they deny endlessly that they need a new on. But Hornet gets them a new one anyways

The kiddos make dirtmouth so lively once theyre old enough to play outside more

Okay back to the canon characters and the angst,

PK often babysits the 5 to give Hollow a break, and during one night when they're staying with him he has a nightmare about Hollow killing him. Wakes up startled and panting.

He feels like he would deserve that fate but the nightmare still felt so horrifying and real, and he just stays there shaking and wonders if the anger and hatred he saw in his dream is really how Hollow feels and they've just been tolerating him at best in actuality

His grandkids were sleeping with him, so he just looks down at the baby currently in his arms and just buries his face in them

He loves these five so so damn much, he wonders if they love him too- he wonders how Hollow can even tolerate him around their young

He just nuzzles into the baby in his arms, trying to forget about his brewing thoughts and fall back asleep

Hollow definitely had some wildly complicated feelings about him, their relationship was very volatile at times, and they for sure felt anger at him for what he's done to them

But it's been years now that they've spent bonding together, years to heal and grow a more proper father-child relationship, and with time they've learned to stop seeing him as a king creator but their father, and they learned to love him like one too

They're just not an overly affectionate person, but they're generally a complete recluse so the fact that they spend so much time with him is a testament to their love for him, he just haven't seen it yet. He didn't really get many opportunities to see how Hollow is with most people so he doesn't realise just how differently they treat him, Hornet, White Lady and their children.

And yeah, they won't lie, their relationship is rocky at times and he did massively fuck up in the past, but they still love him and see him as their father.

Had they found out about his nightmares they'd just lie with him and gently nudge their muzzle against his hand, maybe even worming their snout under it so he can hold his hand on their mask like that one time, hoping that this gesture would be enough to make him realise

And it would be

Also he is Very bothered by them still going by The Hollow Knight alone while they couldn't care either way

He'd bring it up again and they just look at him

"You really want me to have a name?"

"That...would be better, I think."

"Okay. Name me, then."

"...what?"

"You're my father. I don't have a name because you never gave me one, so if you want me to have one you should give it to me."

"But...me? Why me?"

"You're my father."

"I know that, but... I don't think I deserve to- Wouldn't you like to name yourself?"

They shake their head, "I do not care either way. I am just fine continuing to go by The Hollow Knight, I would also accept any name you pick for me, I truly don't feel strongly about this."

"But- I- why wouldn't you want to choose? I picked that title for you, I chose the trajectory of your life, I think you should get to choose for once."

"I am choosing. I'm choosing for my father to give me a name. It's Hallownest's tradition for parents to choose names for their hatchlings after they develop their personalities, so if I was to have a name I want it to be a proper one. One my parent would give me."

"...but...why me? Why would you want a name I give you after everything..."

"Doesn't that also apply to my title? The Hollow Knight, or even this nickname Hollow, is something you've given me," They tilt their head, "Is this why you feel so strongly about me choosing a name?"

"..."

Really torn up between continuing to call them Hollow here as shortening of The Hollow Knight or if they should get a name

Because I thought of calling them Echo that that's such a pretty name,, could be named after their quiet disposition

I think they'd be a recluse who doesn't say much and prefers to let their actions speak for themselves, only really talks when spoken to

But for now it's Hollow

I think after Hollow has the five seedlings they might move from living in the ruins of Hallownest and frequently travelling around to the outskirts of Dirtmouth, where they can keep their privacy and relative quietness but where its also considerably safer for the children

Hornet and Pale King would visit frequently, sometimes babysit for them while they go off to have a break (mostly their father, who doesn't mind and even enjoys taking care of these children (he sees this as an opportunity to fix his past mistakes, could never be a father to his child so at least he can help raise his grandchildren), as opposed to Hornet who's probably a very cool aunt but isn't the best with kids in the long run)

I think PK would also settle in Dirtmouth after a while. Spends 50/50 time living there and with his wife

Azalea, the moth, is an old librarian that eventually moved to Dirtmouth after the infection ended. She likes the quiet and keeps to herself, likes to have long conversations over tea, gets along best with Elderbug and PK for that reason...and weirdly enough, somewhat okay with Zote, but only because she likes to listen to people ramble on for hours, he's like a white noise machine to her but she has 0 clue what bro's yapping about.

She meets PK after Hollow moves to Dirtmouth with their seedlings. PK naturally visited them often and even stayed over to help take care of the kids, eventually moving there. They happened to stumble on each other while he was with his grandkids and started chatting. Their love is slow burning they first became friends and slowly came to take care for each other more than that, but it takes PK a long while to realise she's into him and he feels the same. She also eventually learns of his past and doesn't care much, doesn't treat him differently because he was a king, which is a huge relief to him. She enjoys his company and loves flying with him, she rarely gets to do that with anyone anymore. WL is very encouraging to PK about pursuing this relationship, but for a long while he didn't because he had convinced himself that she only sees him as a friend (it won't stop Azalea from making jokes that she's the second woman in the relationship/a mistress). Eventually she gets to meet WL too and they get along, swap funny stories about PK over tea. Eventually Azalea and WL become an item too, but similarly to her with PK it takes a while for them to get together.

Also I've been very tempted to keep Radiance alive for this AU because her reaction and feelings towards 1 out of 2 of her last surviving moths being with HIM would be very entertaining. Azalea doesn't remember their old goddess and would think she's just an ordinary moth and tries to make friends with her because there's so few of their people nowadays, it's good to have somebody you relate to! She occassionaly mentions her lovely centipede boyfriend and Radi truly couldn't give two shits, until she finds out who he is. PK also becomes very protective of Azalea after finding out Radi's alive, suddenly becomes very comfortable with PDA when she's around KDHDBDV Azalea doesn't mind and finds it amusing, but also why is he so clingy all of the sudden?
