it is beyond infuriating how anne rice seems to insist on marius being a positive force in anyone's life ever. like she can't fully commit to exploring the fact he groomed armand and has repeatedly taken away his consent for what marius thinks is best (take the end of TVA as an example) and just kind of flatly puts it in the narrative. there's not really much interest in how these horrific events make marius come across as the worst because EVERYONE loves him. for gods sake, lestat learns from armand exactly what marius did to him in TVL and then proceeds to go find marius and be super friendly to him in the same fucking book. even armand and pandora, two of the people who have MORE than enough right to hate him, do not. it doesnt feel like shes trying to explore the toxicity of the abusive dynamic he traps them in, it just is there. and like yeah ofc the toxic vampire romance series but i think that this should be handled with more care. and it is not ever really framed in a way that she is interested in exploring how marius should easily be one of the most horrific characters in this series because it kind of feels like sa/rape/grooming/other things of that sort are just put there to further plot and not to really get the respect that they deserve in a medium.

oooo yay its my bday i just hit the big two four!!! so if you see my age in bio change you know whats up. uhh book update for the five people who are interested, i hit 33k words a few days ago and im having a blast writing it!! i still have a long way to go before its finished, i estimate the rough draft alone will take about a year to finish. but yeah the purpose of this post is to do a small poll—

i was thinking, that mayhaps, i could share a scene or two that i particularly liked or made me laugh every chapter to few chapters or so on this account? i wanted to ask before i do it because i know yall followed me for fanfic and i dont wanna clog anyones dash. however, it would be a way for me to share parts of my writing still (not doing so is making me insane ill write a scene and want to paul revere it so bad because i love it sm) and remain active on this account

Not to come into your inbox trying to sound rude, but you're on the right track for your hamster, the glass tank you have is just WAY too small. For rodents, they need bigger wheels so their backs don't arch when they're running on the wheel (they can develop back and tail problems from too small wheels) so i actually think ur wheel and other cage items are good, u just definitely need more horizontal space (i try to shy away from too tall items the hammies mighy climb on and fall off of and hurt themselves bc theyre so very good at that)

I appreciate it, and yeah ykw you're definitely right...i had a feeling too idk why i still took this one, she has very little space to even walk around + the ppl at the store were saying the same thing abt the wheel- i found one online for russian hamsters thats like the disc, they said its better for their back bc otherwise the constant arching will hurt them. I thought having more of a terrarium would be good for her bc that way she cant climb like she was doing in the last one (shes already fallen a lot and im gettin stressed abt her hurting herself) but now shes just cramped up in this tiny space and like. Sigh. There was a bigger one too i straight up dont know why i didnt just think about this more. Might have to put her back in her old one even though its still not great but at least she can move around in it.

Unfortunately this is new territory for me but im 100% open to learning to make sure i do this right. I'm still wondering if I should go back to a regular bowl for her food and figure out a way to put up the water bottle on the side if only to maximize space, i still want to try and put up a 2nd level she can explore/climb around but yeah i might need to invest in an expensive cage if it helps her live deliciously yk?
