alright, y’all. it’s that time of year again. genshin dropped a surprise which features the cast that seem to be important to the fontaine archon quest. curious of who you’re gonna pull for!

order (left to right, who appeared first in the trailer): freminet, lyney, lynette, navia, wriothesley, siegwinne, neuvillete, clorinde, and furina aka focalors the hydro archon.

not featured: egeria aka the narrator who didn’t show up in the trailer, charlotte, and arlecchino. we already know the latter two!

i’m planning to pull for wriothesley, neuvillette, clorinde, furina, and arlecchino (please be playable i’m gonna flip). also planning to get lyney and lynette but will get lyney in his rerun and lynette whenever.

THEORIES & PREDICTIONS (contains leaks utc!)

themes: (in)justice, illusion, deceit - both lyney and arlecchino agree on the idea that everything’s not real and it’s all for show. arle’s the “director”, in charge of the “actors” placements with the use of a “script”. arle made a deal with furina, her targeted audience, to put on a “show” for her since the hydro archon loves drama in order to get her gnosis. even newspapers and photos can be illusions, and deceitful. they don’t contain the full picture of events. they say seeing is believing, but there are more than meets the eye.

lyney and lynette (and to an extent, freminet) will deceive us at some point during the story - the reps of each nation helped us out so far. lyney and lynette are magicians, who aim to create experiences for their audiences that seem impossible or inexplicable (e.g., sleight of hand and escape stunts). they say that a true magician never reveals their secrets, but everyone will find out eventually. magicians and keen observers have exposed other magicians before. we, the traveler and paimon, may act as keen observers and expose what lyney and lynette are hiding from us. i heard that those two and freminet are from the house of hearth, and work for arle, which does make sense when arlecchino said that they’re all actors.

gameplay: mix of ace attorney and tears of themis, but leaning toward tot - traveler and paimon always get in trouble with the law in the most inconvient way. the whole plot of the archon quest could be traveler and paimon accused of committing a serious crime, and the goal was to prove their innocence by acting as their own attorney. the aa part is acting as your own “lawyer” and the tot part is connecting and analyzing evidence, the same as sumeru act ii when nahida told us about the samsara.

Something something, the chuldur are a social commentary on how modern audiences uncritically consume media like Bridgerton or other Austen-esque historical romances and desire to be a part of the sanitized, easily consumable aristocratic lifestyle it presents while refusing to acknowledge the problematic nature of their romanticisation of deeply classist, racist and colonial power structures in historical eras mired in some of the worst injustices these systems have ever perpetrated.

So we have part 2 of stylized Cookies, pretty much all from today other than bird girls

I feel like I did better yesterday, but also I haven’t seen yesterday’s drawing since yesterday, so I don’t really remember if it was

I was planning on drawing the Hollyberry family, but because I got stuck on Jungleberry (I deleted her so you can’t see), that didn’t end up happening. Funny enough, I was also like “I have no clue what to do for White Lily and Pure Vanilla so they’re probably not gonna be drawn for a while”, but what got me to draw more today was ideas for White Lily, and Pure Vanilla came along later

To be honest, White Lily and Pure Vanilla probably still need some tweaking before I color them. I’m still not really sure what I’m doing with White Lily’s hair, and for Pure Vanilla I feel like I haven’t done enough outside of the eyes and the hat. Maybe it’s because I gave him an oval head? I wasn’t really sure what head shape to give him other than it not being one I already used

Speaking of their eyes, White Lily’s are supposed to be pink with white irises, and Pure Vanilla is supposed to have no irises, but solid yellow and blue. Which when I was drawing looked somewhat unsettling, which is funny because since I draw so many Cookies, that’s usually normal now

Also also, I now want to make a purelily kid that combines their features, aka White Lily’s half shadow face and Pure Vanilla’s small non iris eyes. They’d look like the comedy mask. And probably also somewhat like Shadow Milk

As for the Hollyberry family, I think Holly herself looks good, and the other two look alright. Princess probably needs more tweaking. I wanted to give them a running trait of not just dot eyes, but leaves in their hair. I’m thinking that every Hollyberrian has leaves in their hair, since they’re berries. I am struggling with Royal Berry and Princess’, since the best place to it their leaves is where they have something else, aka their crown and heart pins

To be honest I want to make it so that Princess is half berry half candy, so that maybe she could not have to have the leaves, but I like Jungleberry and don’t want to get rid of her or turn her into a candy, so oh well

I drew Red Velvet because I was struggling with White Lily and Pure Vanilla. I gave him a triangle head because someone somewhere on my first page said something about Golden Cheese having a triangle face because the Cakes, so why not give the half cake Cookie a triangle head as well?

Also with Red Velvet I definitely took liberties in redesigning him, like with the hair and horns, but I don’t think he looks necessarily bad? As least not by the end

I also drew him with Dark Choco because darkvelvet is a thing I know. Though to be honest, while I draw it, I’m not sure how much I like it. Like in theory I like it, it’s not bad, it’s just that I don’t think I get it. Like as far as I can tell they can only be doomed by the narrative because Dark Choco leaves, but maybe I’m interpreting Red Velvet’s character wrong. It’s been over a year since I watched his story. And also I’m not sure what draws people to the ship? Like darklico for example I can get for various reasons, but I don’t know about darkvelvet

Oh yeah, Licorice is here too. Forgot about that. Well I tried to make his head oval shaped because it’s sort supposed to look like a skull? Or a cartoony skull. Same with his eyes and mouth, they’re supposed to be somewhat skull-y. I didn’t draw his actual skulls though because I’m lazy and it’s a small drawing. I think he turned out pretty good though

I think maybe next page I should focus on more random characters outside of the Ancients. Maybe that’ll help the creative freedom

prince yeonjun who is so smitten and shy around the pretty daughter of his family’s chef. it started when you were first hired along with your mother and father and the royal family came to welcome you guys to the castle. it was live at first sight for yeonjun. when you smiled at him he felt his face burning up and managed to pull a small smile before looking down at the sleek floors of the castle. you thought he was cute too, but of course you never tried anything.

yeonjun couldn’t help thinking about you and how he wanted to get closer to you. so like the lovesick puppy he is he would lurk around the kitchen before dinner. you noticed this and decided to make a little snack just for him :) when the coast was clear you approached him from behind while he was standing behind a pillar.

“your majesty,” you said announcing your presence causing him to turn around startled, “i’m sorry for startling you..but i wanted to ask if you wanted a special treat before dinner,” you smiled at him holding out a tiny bowl with heart shaped pieces of watermelon and pieces of mango shaped into a cute pouty chick, he could feel his heart melt to say the least

“oh-um i appreciate the sentiment very much, truly, but my mother wouldn’t want me to,” he smiled apologetically (even though his heart was screaming for him to take it anyway). “oh..but I made it just for you,” you replied giving him subtle puppy eyes. you knew you were playing with fire talking to him, but you had spotted him looking at you for a couple weeks now and wanted to speak to him more, other than the occasional formal greeting whenever you saw him around the castle.

in yeonjuns mind, however, he could already hear the bells of the wedding chapel the second you said those words to him.

Okay okay okay so it’s quite long so ill try to organise it chronologically but it still might be a little odd reading everything so please forgive me <:]

but but but but but let’s talk about one’s first appearance !!!

First, let’s talk about the moon and what it is here,

The moon is a sphere, a one sided shape that is normally associated with night time and dreams which is very much one’s general imagery and theming — furthermore the stars in all the night time shots are also a blue colour which could associate with One as well but that might be more of a reach from me.

Plus, the moon is normally said to be ‘looking down’ on those below which could reference how One said they were keeping an eye on everyone for a while.

Now immediately after One’s appearance in the ending of last episode we have this next episode ‘Oneirophobe’s Nightmare’ — besides the obvious One pun within the title, Oneirophobe is an actual phobia meaning — ‘the fear of dreams, can lead to a profound impact on individuals’ daily lives, often ratcheting up anxiety and creating a cycle of avoidance that makes restful sleep seem unattainable.’ with this episode containing the most One imagery out of any episode with at-least over 10 appearances — meaning that dreams/nightmares and One are likely very much connected here!

This will then be important for next episode where they actually get to talk and also link into their powers in general!

So we have no idea where *exactly* this room is (likely a space within One’s head like the other algebralians) but I think the room itself is very interesting to dissect.

immediately we see One take more action in this episode, with One’s room being especially interesting as the main colour scheme being red, yellow and blue- primary colours, like how One themself is primary as they are one.

additionally, there is more dream imagery such as a mobile, stars, moon, telescope and bookshelves — as well as the swirls and spirals adding on to that dream like ideas but also kind of child-like.

we also see that one is most commonly making deals with people, with their kind of *magic* looking like a star specifically, further adding on to this dream idea we see a lot.

I also noticed that with their stamp in the contracts it’s a blue circle with a 1 inside, possibly referencing to how One was trapped in the moon? maybe maybe

now what am i thinking with this?

I think One is focused on the *dreams* and *aspirations* of others, with them manipulating those wants for their own needs and goals (getting two’s power which is very likely what that ‘favour’ will be) and pressure them into contracts.

Now backtracking a bit to the moon due to something else I noticed here, we can see that it’s weridly empty? likely being a place one was trapped in for a long time — but i was also thinking that it looked quite similar to the jawbreakers too maybe being a trap that One was placed in — furthermore maybe this could be a parallel to Book in the Oneirophobia episode, with them being forgotten about to some extent ?

plus the rocks said to be of ‘very high value’ could also maybe connect to one in a sense, why? no clue

SLAMS THIS FRIDGE

THIS FRIDGE THIS FRIDGE HAS SO MUCH TO TALK ABOUT HERE

I think this fridge both explains; The difference in powers, the general relationships the algebralians have here and also explains WHY One wants two’s powers in the first place!

First of all, the people we can see on the fridge are One, Two, Three and Four the first numbers, showing some kind of connection with all of them and being the main numbers, with One, Two and Three being specifically red, green and blue, RGB perhaps showing why they are much more powerful than Four who is much lower down (though four

I think their connection with eachother is also represented by how *literally* close they all are; With four being the most distant from Two and generally the rest of the numbers shown here with One being closer to Two and Three (possibly referencing how One said they and Two used to be ‘close friends’ or something of the sort) but Two and Three overlapping each-other showing some kind of very close connection/just in general something happening with those two and most obviously — Three being scribbled out by someone.

But lets look at their magnets

Four and Three have a diamond/square which has 4 sides and a triangle with 3 sides, with a matching colour to boot.

However interestingly Two has a star looking magnet with 7 sides, 14 total but still green matching himself — likely representing the mass amount of power that Two has but it’s unknown exactly why.

But the only one who doesn’t follow this matching colour pattern is One, having a yellow moon magnet instead! maybe due to the moon, a sphere being the only one sided shape but why would the shape of all things be yellow?? why not blue like their colour?

So what I believe here is that, One’s power isn’t actually their own and they could of either stolen it from somewhere (maybe X but that could be a stretch, there isn’t anyone else that is yellow though) or they could have literally stolen the power of the moon? though i’m also not exactly sure about that either — but all of this could generally reference with One’s aspirations of power and the need for it, a bit like hubris in a sense.

This could also show why One wants Two’s power due to them being represented as higher/more powerful than One on the fridge, with One want in to be the best, a literal number ONE and the most powerful, linking in with the childish appearance their room has with the scribbled stars and mobile and such.

I also have a hunch that One was also involved with Loser’s sudden super popular fame with how sudden and massing it was but that’s just a hunch.
