happy thursday!
Fuck me I missed the first couple of minutes, got too distracted cooking.. oop
Okay… would it not be SUPER random for the new lieu to just show up in the middle of the night in a crime scene? Ok, she doesn’t know, so maybe there is something weird going on. Still gonna miss kate though.
Howd they get that far into the crime scene and not know she was a prosector?
So brady’s already way more hands on than kate was, and part of me likes that and part of me doesn’t. cause I was always praising kate for being more of what an actual CO would be, trapped in the office with paperwork and bureaucracies rather than running through the field with their detectives. I do think I like brady so far but that could definitely change. Not sure how the cops feel about that yet either LOL.
Ok well at least they gave us a reason Dixon left… would’ve been nice if we’d gotten that resolution on screen? Like give the actress a .5 second cameo??
Husband is ALWAYS the main suspect. Even if his alibi did check out (though Id still like a little twist…)
Ugh. Still hate price though.
“your girl’s got a bad attitude” bruh. Don’t come or sam, she’ll come for you worse.
Oh calm down Nolan, let your baby ada go a little feral. They all do it over on svu. Sam deserves it
God she’s so friggin pretty….
Shaw needs a bigger bullet proof vest that shit barely protects anything…
Okay so is sam like, going off to cry and not know how to deal with the rest of the case or is she about to go feral??
Well there’s still 20 mins left so maybe a twist is coming? (or at least more with sam which is what I want out of every ep lol)
Was that supposed to be an opening argument? Why was it happening at the end of the day? Im so confused, but hey whatever.
When are we gonna get a piece of Sam’s backstory that ISNT about her sister?
Okay, they EITHER need to show us some more mentor/mentee/sibling growth/relationship between sam & Nolan OR we need to get them both a side character to lean on in difficult moments. Cause rn it just seems weird and a little awkward. Like they work together every day but they never seem that *friendly* towards each other…
Welp. That ep was okay, it had potential to be better but I’ll let it slide lol. Mothership is never my favourite.
*
SVU time!
(man it is SO great to not have to sit through fucking Toronto anymore lol. Will miss OC though..)
Benson picking up the new girl? Oookay. Interesting, interesting, her dad’s a cop, nice background. Honestly I like her already MORE than I did based off just pictures.
Fins guns named after his ex wife or was that lazy writing?? OKAY GOOD! IT WAS A CALLBACK. Thank fuck cause im sick of shit getting forgotten about.
“why do I feel like the captain’s testing me?” said every rookie of the squad ever… like, youre new to the squad, of course she’s gonna keeping you on a leash/making sure you’re actually ready for svu.
I do lowkey like that we jumped into her time on the squad though, she’s already been there for 3 weeks rather than showing us when she originally met the squad, takes off some of the awkwardness/hostility that we usually see (hopefully lol)
Uuggggghhhh “campus security” COME ON. NO. we’ve learnt this already! (plus I thought they were off campus? Could be wrong lol. I dunno what “off campus housing” technically means lol)
Who says shelly was the one to set it up??
“college is different these days” bruh… really??? Also there’s like 1000 reasons why she wouldn’t mention it, esp to cops lol.
“it possible teddy set up the camera” yeah bud, ive been saying this. Whoever was the first to move in was likely the person who did it.
Bruno looks great this season… just sayin
Okay so shelly really is the one who set up the camera??
Jfc that got out of control fucking fast
“UNY” gotta love how they have to shift specific things to fictional that are actually real things.
He downloaded the threesome and watched it at least six times before possibly heading over to murder them? Imma need a better timeline on all this. Okay, 1 am… the other dude came home at midnight to see the threesome starting. So… when were they killed? Cause this timeline aint timelining but I’ll let it slide due to lazy writing
Okay, I do really like the Silva is one of those true blood nyc-ers, especially being paired w Velasco that balances out really well for their jobs. The bit with the hammer was very old school svu, the whole “hey, that’s okay, we’ll bring you another one, a nicer one, even better I promise” would’ve only been made better if she’d turned to Velasco and said “give him a twenty for his time”. Lool.
Is there gonna be some last minute twist here…
Carisi looks fantastic in the blue suit
I cannot help but laugh on shows that aren’t R/NC rated when they have to show people having sex/doing things that they would obviously be naked for yet because it’s PG they’re all covered with a sheet. Like.. no one has a threesome like that LOL.
Carisi yells too much on the stand…
Glad that we got some nice benson/carisi bestie soft moments tonight. I miss those
Okay…so they’re trying out a new formula with introducing new cast members and I’m curious. Like, she’s already in the title card and has her own credit pic in the opening so she’s obvi here to stay for at least a season, but she was barely in the ep. We got little tidbits about her, got to see her interacting mainly with benson and Velasco, maybe I like that better than the way they normally throw someone new at us the same “day” they’re “meeting” the rest of the squad and going through that awkward rookie phase. It’s been almost a month now, she’s settled in at least a little bit, benson seems super friendly with her, she’s comfortable around benson, she’s cool with Velasco, not afraid to step on toes, but also doesn’t come across super cocky “I know more than you” kinda vibes when new characters pull something fancy out of their asses that no one else can think of kinda thing. I didn’t know how to feel about her from just promo pics cause she lowkey looks like a lost/kicked puppy in the stills but so far she’s giving good vibes.
Episode overall was okay. Not what I would’ve expected from a season premier, but I’ll take what I can get.
Feels weird to be done in 2 hours. Esp considering it’s only 8. I miss OC, mainly Bell. Also interesting that they’ve been filming just as long as the other two but they’re not going to air until next year?? I know streaming does shit differently than network but still. I’m stoked to see who gets the first “fuck” (it better be Ayanna but I’m sure it’s gonna be Elliot. Lol. Would absolutely die if it was Bernie though.)
Alright. Welp. That’s my tidbits on tonight.
Beth/Rita on next week’s OG and that’s both suuuuper fucking exciting and also makes me nervous at the same time. Here’s hoping it ends up well and I’d LOVE to see her and sam get some screen time together.
See ya then!

saw multiverse of madness last night | my thoughts
i'm going to put my non-spoiler thoughts above the read more! no worried friends!
so doctor strange is an asshole in every universe: confirmed
this movie made me care more about christine then the first one ever did
i did in fact say very loudly in the theater "holy shit" - more below read more
this movie isn't a 10/10 for me but it's a solid 7/10 & it's a DIFFERENT feeling marvel movie which i'm here for. i want marvel to branch out from the normal formula. even if it means we get 5/10 (*cough* eternals *cough*) or 7/10 (this film) because we finally get some VARIETY & we might get some fuckin amazing movies like Shang-Chi which was a solid 9/10 if not 10/10
okay spoilers below. read at own risk
i can already hear the wanda haters being like "see? she is the villain" & missing the whole point of her entire storyline. but somehow they still stan Loki, Bucky, etc. if you're one of those just go away cuz i'mma be honest
it was fun seeing wanda fuck everyone up. cause yeah. she's been through shit & where has everyone been to help her through it?
parents dead after growing up in a war-torn country which she is now forced to grow up in without them
brother dead
avengers broken apart by the accords & she's locked away in the raft
on the run
has to kill the man she loves & then watches thanos rip a hole in his head & then is snapped for 5 years
comes back to a lot of people dead or just gone
accidentally creates a false reality to cope & ends up having to erase her newly formed husband & children from existence
the avengers honestly needed a therapist on staff lmao. but ANYWAY
it was funny to see how she still is shit at lying. she could fabricate an entire reality but can't lie for shit. her vs the illuminati (we will get to them in a min) ICONIC. wanda maximoff deserves the title of the most powerful avenger/being cause DAMN
when i heard they were bringing in america chavez i was a little worried just cause i'm not a fan of a lot of her stuff in the comics. she's written poorly in my opinion but the MCU did her right. i loved her & Xochitl Gomez? we should def keep an eye on her. she's great
the horror aspect of this film is that variety i'm talking about. the jump scares that got me??? i jumped more during this movie than any recent horror film lmaoooo
i did in fact say very loudly in the theater "holy shit" when Mr. Fantastic was revealed & i am not ashamed of it
but also that entire line-up left me SHOOK
Anson Mount reprising his role from the Inhuman tv series
John Krasinski one of the best fan-casts actually be cast as Mr. Fantastic
Lashana Lynch??? Photon??? Maria Rambeau??? as CAPTAIN MARVEL???
Hayley Atwell - thank you for playing the live action Captain Carter
Sir Patrick Stewart dressed in a green suit and sitting in that iconic yellow hover chair while the '97 x-men theme played???
and yeah Chiwetel Ejiofor was there but like we knew that & he's like a known character that's been around or whatever
okay. but also those ULTRON bots? that indicates 2 possibilities
we got the regular MCU canon but this time Ultron WORKED to some extent aka Tony didn't completely fuck it up
a version Hank Pym's (the original ant-man) entire storyline was there. which *makes dying noise* Hank Pym not being a founding member of the avengers in the MCU is fine & i love Scott Lang but Ultron was such a key point of his (Hank's) story in the comics. turning him into Tony's problem was interesting but also like???
for ANOTHER THING - the cameos in that universe of Black Bolt & Professor X mean that in other universes Inhumans exist which means terrigan mists exist but also that X-men exist meaning the mutant gene exists??? all of which could somehow come bleeding into our universe or eventually come to the MCU
okay what are some other big things... oh yah
so Wanda destroyed the temple/shrine thing which held the original writings of the Darkhold which somehow destroyed every Darkhold in every universe. does that mean there was only one temple across all the multiverse? also Chthon might be pissed off about her destroying that temple or whatever & uh this could lead to the storyline of him using her body as a vessel on Earth. also for anyone who doesn't know Chthon is the literal God of Chaos in marvel lore... so like... yah.
alright lesbians
Charlize Theron is in the MCU now. it was only a matter of time but damn. did they have to make her a hetero???
so Charlize Theron is playing Clea & is from the Dark Dimension. she's like the sorcerer supreme of the Dark Dimension. idk all the details but in the comics she's Doctor Strange's like biggest love or whatever - big L for me cause i think Doctor Strange is a dickbag but whatever. i don't think they ever stay together in the comics. it's a spicy on-off relationship cause his true love is magic or whatever
so smaller things um
why was the makeup on zombie strange's eyes so bad? like you could tell where the mask started & his face ended near the eyes. that's yikes for marvel quality
the title feels misleading as they were really leaning on the multiverse aspect of the title. when in reality we traveled to like 2 different universes. that's not that like fantastical. people are going in with different expectations & YES i know it's a play on the mouth of madness but not everyone knows that
in the end though. i enjoyed myself -
except for the teen-girl next to me filming the whole movie on her phone who wouldn't shut-up or sit still. i hope she never sees another movie in theaters or gets caught recording movies on her phone.
good movie. not the best marvel movie. but still a good movie. 7/10

I forgot to mention their age……..Seokjin is the same age as Yoongi and everybody else is the same age as they are in real life . Y/N is the same age as Taehyung and Jimin. Also “The 7” is boring for an ally name so I changed it into “The 7 Dragons” . I know you didn’t read the author’s note ;) HAHAHA
Chapter 4
Y/N POV / 1st POV
I felt my eyes flutter open, the beam of the sun immediately making me squint and turn the other way, not wanting to get up. I sighed, the heat of the sun on my back immediately making me feel warm in contrast to the chilly autumn weather. I sat up feeling confused, holding the silk sheets up to my chest, feeling chilly. I rubbed my eyes, trying to rub away my blurry vision. Looking around I saw no one else in the room, as I moved my eyes around the room everything glistened. The room was decorated with gold furniture, a portrait of the present three Kim Emperors was hung up on the wall with golden borders along with a portrait of their late parents above them, only with a slightly bigger frame. I looked at my friends’ portrait again, the familiar red string around Jin’s and Namjoon’s wrist made me smile, looking down on my wrist I admired the red string wrapped around it.
The sliding doors to my room suddenly opened, startling me, making my grip on the sheets tighter to my chest. I looked at who it could’ve been, possibly Seokjin or Namjoon, but it was a stranger making me feel more frightened. The man offered me a boxy smile, and took one step into the room without closing the doors, making me feel at a little more ease. “My brothers have requested for your presence, Y/N.” I looked at the man again trying to read his body language, only to see a calm, honest man with a bubbly personality. Brothers?
I continued looking at the odd, yet handsome young man. He grinned at my expression seeming as if he knew what I was thinking. “Oh! I’m sorry, I forgot to introduce myself, for like the hundredth time. I know you just came back from the farm the other day (referring to Chapter 2) after you and Namjoon hyung dealt with the lieutenant.” The man never stopped smiling, making me feel a little flustered. “Ah! Yes, my apologies for holding you back. My brothers are waiting for you at the pagoda near the lake.” The stranger then stepped back out of my room with a pout on his face, making him look even more cute than he already was before. “I never liked that lieutenant anyway, but they never listen to me because I am the youngest. Hmph. Whatever.”
Before he closed the doors and smiled at me, “You’re very adorable, Y/N. Also, no need to cover yourself up too much, the silk is already kind of outlining your cherries. See you later!” with that came a loud shut of the doors with the sound of footsteps disappearing as he got further away from my Hanok. What just happened. Fuck, how can he apologize for not introducing himself but doesn’t even introduce himself. And my cherries? I don't even have any fruit in my room. What an odd, confusing man. A handsome, odd, confusing man. I shook my head still in the midst of waking up. I looked at the floor near the melting candle only to see 5 screws on the floor, it’s only 5am. I grunted and layed down again feeling more tired than ever, cursing Seokjin and Namjoon in my head for having someone, a stranger even, to wake me up.
They can wait a few more minutes. I closed my eyes trying to remember the features of the handsome man that had woken me a few moments ago. I remember his brown eyes and the mole on his nose. I remember seeing a gold emblem on his bandana, across his forehead but my memory was a blurring everything but his face. Hm I wonder if he already has a consort. But cherries, what did he mean. Wait did he mean...my nipples?! I opened my eyes and sat up quickly, looking down seeing my nipples poking through the silk sheet. I gasped in shock, they were poking through the sheets due to the cold. That guy was a pervert! I scoffed, “Of course. Men only want to get in your pants this dynasty.” I got off my bed and started to put on my hanbok to meet up with Namjoon and Seokjin. I reminisce about the events that have happened for the past two weeks, wondering if Emperor Yoongi was waiting for my arrival. Bastard, he’s probably not even worried for me.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I stepped down from my horse and gave it to the guard that was in front of the entrance. I turned to the side and saw Namoon already in his armor with a smile on his face, offering his arm for me to take. I smiled back at him and encircled our arms together, my hand wrapped around his bicep. I chuckled, “Is this your way of trying to present me as your consort, Emperor Namjoon?” Namjoon laughed at my question, eyes disappearing into slits, “In your dreams, missy.” I chuckled remembering oh how I missed him and his jokes, yet intelligent remarks to everything. I frowned, remembering the event at the farm, now I am at the palace, today possibly determining Eunwoo’s verdict and punishment. I looked at him noticing his sunken, swollen eyes and skinny figure. A moment of slice fell between us as we continued walking on the way to the back of the palace to the pagoda. I cleared my throat, attempting to clear the tension in air, side eyeing him to see his expression only for it not to falter
“Hey, listen, I can convince Seokjin to let go of Eunwoo. I might have mistaken Eunwoo and his da-”
“The evidence was there Y/N. Don’t worry about me, I am an Emperor. I have no need to feel any sort of emotion for a tyrant who betrayed his own Emperor, his own people. I feel no sympathy for those types of people.”
I looked at him, worried for his emotional and mental state. I stopped walking, my arm still encircled with his, startling him as my grip had pulled him back. He turned to my direction, I felt saddened as he couldn’t look me in the eye, instead focusing his gaze on something else behind me. “Just because you’re an emperor does not mean you need to lack emotion. He was one of your closest friends, someone who understood you and listened to your military tactics. It is understandable that the pain you’re feeling is something you choose not to show. Just like me, I know he was a part of your childhood too. We’re in our mid-twenties and we can’t run away from what we feel as people forever.” Even though his gaze was not on me, I had seen his eyes glisten more in the sun as tears welled up, witnessing him keep his stern, not blinking, refusing for them to fall down his cheeks.
“Losing someone...losing someone hurts but that doesn’t mean you should lose yourself as well, Joon.”
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I continued walking to the pagoda, remembering how I left Namjoon based on his request. I stopped in the middle of the stone path admiring the flowers and the trees, also noticing the guards standing at their posts, except for one that was empty, Eunwoo’s. I sighed and continued along the path. I started thinking of what can happen if they had chosen to execute Eunwoo and his dad, who also happened to be citizens of the Bang Empire, finding out from the book of immigrants. No wonder they had always left during the summer, they would go back and then return here starting autumn. A war...a possible war between The 7 Dragons against the Bang Empire and the Soo Empire. I felt my arm hairs rise as I imagined the damage that can be done to Korea and the blood that will be shed if it were to happen. I shivered in the slightest remembering when my family and I had to move to the Min Empire from the Kim Empire when I was a kid.
A hand gripped my shoulder, turning me around. I looked at the owner's hand and saw Namjoon, his eyes red and face a little swollen. “You cried…” Namjoon chuckled lowly, nodding his head, not afraid of telling the truth. “Listen, I am sorry. I never told you beforehand. I am so sorry. You’re my best friend, heck, I hired you as a personal spy for the allies. I hired you because I trust you. I should’ve trusted you, I should never put my hands on a woman. You’re my best friend before you are my spy.” Namjoon started tearing up again, except this time he had let his tears fall endlessly down his face, not bothering to care how he had looked in front of me. I smiled bitterly, remembering how he had harshly pushed me and almost slapped me. I put my arms around his shoulder and hugged him tight.
“It’s okay. I know I have your trust. Never in my life would I trade it for anything else. Never. Plus, even if you did slap me, I would’ve kicked you where the sun doesn’t shine.” I chuckled, joking around with him to try to enlighten the mood.
“But I saw how frightened you were. I saw the fear, Y/N. I know that look. I’ve seen it before.”
I pulled away from him, cupping his face and wiping his tears. He leaned into my touch, crying silently, “You remind me of mum.” I smiled at his comment and pulled him into a hug again, letting him cry onto my shoulder. “I’m your best friend, of course I’m going to care for you like family. Don’t worry about me too much.”
“Ehem.”
Namjoon and I pulled away from the hug looking at the direction of the person who had interrupted our moment. “I want a hug too.” Seokjin pouted like the man baby he was. I chuckled and shook my head walking past him into the pagoda, hearing him whine more as I just had ignored him. In the pagoda layed a round table with 8 chairs, unique with its own colors. My curiosity got the best of me, why were there 8 when there’s only 3 of us? I looked back at Namjoon and Seokjin whispering amongst themselves, stealing glances at me from time to time. I rolled my eyes at their childish behavior. Nothing has changed, I smiled to myself.
I sat on the white chair, which was placed in between a black chair accented with rainbow specs to the right of me and a black chair with accents of gold to the left of me. As I sat down, I heard birds chirping all around me, flying from one tree to another, preparing to migrate because of seasonal changes. Ths red, orange, and yellow leaves dance from side to side as the wind is guiding them through the air. I listened to the whistle of the wind, imagining that the music was from someone playing a bamboo flute in mid-autumn. Hearing the leaves on the ground rustle my thoughts went to my parents, I felt worried as I have been gone for more than a week when I am usually only gone for a few days. I closed my eyes as I knew I was going to break down when thinking of my ill father.
“Y/N?”
I stood up, quickly blinking my tears away. I faced the direction of the person who had called me. “Emperor Jimin!” I quickly went down on my knees, respectfully to him, scratching my knees in the process as the habok didn’t protect my knees. “Y/N…” I stood up quickly, the feeling of nervousness taking over me as I tried my best avoiding his gaze. I slightly nod my head in response to the call of my name, never have I wanted to run away from someone until now. “I’m still your friend, Y/N. You can look at me. You’re not a servant of mine...I mean, you do work for me as a spy as well, no?” I still did not look into his eyes, fearing that . They looked dull, lacking the happiness it had shown before. The guilt had almost eaten me alive at that instant, noticing the damage I had done to him. I’m the reason why he’s like this. I chuckled lightly to myself, the irony of it all that is. I’m supposed to be helping the emperors maintain the peace, happiness, and equality in this dynasty, but here I was standing in front of the man whose heart I had broken, countless times.
“지민씨! I see you’ve met Y/N!” I looked behind him and saw the handsome stranger form this morning. “Actually, this is not the first time I’ve met hair. I’d say I know her fairly well. I felt the blood rushing up to my face as I remembered the words he had said, rather boldly, to me the last time him and I were together. Remembering the handsome stranger was here, I unconsciously crossed my arms, covering my chest as I saw his eyes diverge away from my eyes, looking downwards. I glared at the stranger, no longer being able to withhold my anger. “야아! 당신은 오늘 아침부터 변태였어요. 당신은 믿을 수 없군요!” Everyone’s attention was now on me, as I started yelling at the…handsome stranger.
“Namjoon!”
I saw him hurriedly run towards me, worry written all over his face. I hid behind the tall man, cowering with embarrassment. “He was the asshole pervert from this morning! I am not asking for your permission, but I am letting you know I will beat his ass one day! Just because he is good looking does not mean he can do whatever he wants”
“Y/N, I am not going to let you beat up Taehyung.”
I scoffed and crossed my arms, not believing what he had just said. “And why is that?”
“Because he’s the brother I was talking about that you had yet to meet.”
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3RD POV
Y/N sat down between Namjoon and an empty chair. She looked around the table, the three Kim Emperors and Emperor Jimin, who was stealing glances from time to time as he was talking to the youngest of the Kim’s; Taehyung. Y/N looked down and wanted to cry of embarrassment remembering the event that had happened not too long ago. She had just met Taehyung who so happened to be the brother Namjoon and Seokjin was talking about, who so happened to be the youngest of the three. She remembered him chuckling at her when she had suddenly bowed to him the moment Namjoon had told her he was his brother, putting the pieces together that he too was an emperor.
“Heyo! Hoseok is here! That’s right. THE man is here. Now, bow down, peasants.” Hoseok walked in the pagoda with a huge smile on his face, announcing his presence. Y/N chuckled at the silliness he didn’t fail to show every time he presented himself. “형, why do you always forget how to act like the emperor you are? Plus, where are the others?” Jimin asked Hoseok thinking that he would know. Hoseok shrugged ignoring his little insult, and not caring for where the others were, making Jimin scoffed but nonetheless slightly smiled at his older friend’s response but nor forgetting his rebuttal.
“I’m surprised you are early in this meeting.”
Jimin rolled his eyes at Hoseok, even though he knew what he had said was true, pouting in the end looking at Taehyung to say something in his defense, who just kept his mouth shut.
“Sorry for being late! I woke up late, I had training with my hyung last night which lasted until sunrise.” The youngest of the allies entered the pagoda, his panting evident from running. He looked at the unknown girl, introducing himself. “Hello, I am Emperor Jungkook of the Jeon Empire.” Y/N stood up from her chair bowing down to the emperor before her, mentally cursing this dynasty for having so many emperors and empires. She stood up once again once she had heard the legs of the chair scraping against the wooden floor as Jungkook sat down on his purple chair.
It felt as if time was going slow to Y/N as she sat around the table, surrounded by the most powerful emperors of the dynasty, though one was missing. Y/N looked at the empty chair beside him, wondering what had kept him late, who kept him busy. She doesn’t remember the last time she had seen him. However, she remembered the way she had made him smile once. She remembered how he had taken care of her, even though he had a cold demeanor. That’s what she loves about him, or so she thought. Y/N felt an intense gaze burning through her skull. She looked up and saw Jimin, the man she was in love with.
Everyone around the table was chattering nonsense, leaving the serious conversation and issue to be addressed later. Y/N sat quietly as she was left in her own thoughts, snapping out of them when someone had called her name and included her in a conversation. The sound of thunder and the falling of the rain had interrupted their moment of joy. Namjoon, confused just like everyone else, looked at one of his guards, “That’s weird. I didn’t see a ring around the moon these past 7 days.” The guard, confused as well, “I did not witness one either, my emperor.”
The 6 men groaned and complained how the meeting should’ve already started but they were only waiting for one more important figure. The crack of a thunder had made everyone jolt in their seats, the rain noticeable getting harder, the sudden breeze making everyone shiver in their seats. Footsteps climbing up the stairs of the pagoda were left unheard, the figure coming into view once they had stepped out of the rain and into the shelter of the pagoda.
“I apologize for being late.”
Y/N glared at him, bowing down to him, immediately questioning him once she stood up from her vulnerable stance. “What kept you late, Emperor Min? Or should I say whom?” Y/N didn’t know why she cared, she knew she shouldn’t. It was none of her business. She saw Jimin from the corner of her eyes looking down, fiddling with his fingers. The other men’s attention now on her and Yoongi's eyes filled with curiosity. Her focus went back to the man she was questioning, the one looking vulnerable, the only person who she was never afraid of despite the rumours about him.
“I went looking for you.”
Y/N’s eyes widened looking up at him, not being able to utter a word, complete in shock. “Yoongi, nice for you to drop by.” With the tone of Seokjin’s tone, everyone knew the elders had been impatient, being quiet as they had been waiting for his arrival. Yoongi nodded his head in understanding his tone. He grasped Y/N’s wrist, catching her by surprise, dragging her to the direction of their seats. Jimin glared at the two as they walked passed him feeling uneasy at the sight of them close to each other. Seokjin stopped as the two sat down, “Well? Let’s have the meeting start, shall we?”
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Y/N’s eyes widened in fear, looking at the mapo laid out on the table. “Emperor Bang…” She was surprised at how far he had expanded his empire in korea. “He is taking land that isn’t his. He took a part of our land when we were kids, it’s time we take it back. It would be what father wanted.” Namjoon looked at Y/N, knowing what she was thinking. He looked at Seokjin smiling, “Seokjin hyung, Y/N can finally move back in our empire.” Seokjin smiled liking what the latter had said, he smiled even wider. “Or Y/N can just move into our palace! She’s one of you officials anyway.” Namjoon high fived his older brother, both of them smiling to the thought of their best friend permanently living with them.
“No.”
Namjoon and Seokjin furrowed their eyebrows, confused.”What do you mean, ‘no?’” The man looked at the two of them tilting his head the slightest. Seokjin and Namjoon couldn’t help but stare at his right eye, where the scar was. It ran from the middle of his forehead eyebrow straight down to the middle of his cheek. His scar was not that deep, his right eye still perfectly intact. Nonetheless, Seokjin and Namjoon would never admit that they were slightly afraid of him. “Yeah, I said no.” Namjoon grew irritated by his friend, pushing Y/N behind him and taking a step closer to Yoongi. “What do you mean, hyung? She is not your property. You don’t speak for her.”
Yoongi smirked in response, slightly chuckling at the man in front of him and his foolishness. His gaze shifted to the vulnerable girl behind him, looking down on the floor. Yoongi knew what was going through her head. “She is merely just not a spy.” Namjoon looked at Yoongi questioning his statement, waiting for him to continue. “She is also…” Y/N looked up at Yoongi silently pleading not to tell the truth, at least not when Jimin is here. Yoongi chuckled at her appearance, “...my advisor. She is needed more in my Empire, Namjoon. The people only listened when she was there.” Namjoon scoffed, in disbelief of his reasoning. “Ask Y/N who she’d rather be with.”
All the attention was now on Y/N, making her feel uneasy and nervous, all their piercing gazes on her. “Listen! Let’s talk about that matter later! We need to focus on what’s important. Bang is expanding his territory into yours. We need to take it back, war may occur, who knows. What’s more important is that winter is coming. We will have less resources compared to any other season.” Jimin nodded, agreeing with her, along with the other people around the table. Y/N sighed in relief as the attention was no longer on her.Her gaze fell on Yoongi, in relief that he didn’t say anything further. Meanwhile, Jimin’s gaze had remained on her knowing Yoongi was hiding something about Y/N. Him breaking his gaze on her once he thought someone caught him.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Alright, we’ll have another meeting tomorrow. I suggest all of you stay in the palace. The amount of rooms is more than enough. You are pleased to stay in whatever wing of the palace you feel is comfortable.” Seokjin concluded the meeting, the first one to leave the pagoda and into the palace, possibly to wash up and then go straight to bed as the moon was high in the sky. Everyone else had stood up and began leaving. Y/N stood up from her chair, ignoring Yoongi’s presence. As she neared the steps down the pagoda, so did Jimin. Y/N had felt a hand graze against her hand, looking down she saw Jimin’s hand near hers. He smiled brightly at her, interlocking their pinkies together for a few seconds before letting go. However, the man behind them was not too happy to witness it.
Y/N walked behind the seven emperors, entering into the palace. “I suggest we all have dinner in an hour, my friends. We will meet in the dining room once everyone has settled in comfortably.” The three Kim brothers walked to their own chambers, with the rest of the boys doing the same. Y/N walked to her room, she stripped herself from her clothes wanting to scrub off possible grime and dirt she had gotten on herself.
Y/N laid in the bathtub, candles surrounding her, illuminating the room while also giving her warmth from the autumn cold. She closed her eyes, feeling her body relax as she sunk her body further in the water. She furrowed her eyebrows, remembering the hurt expression Jimin had worn when he first saw her in the beginning of the meeting. She felt sick to her stomach at the thought of hurting him, hurting anyone. A few knocks to her door made her stray away from her thoughts. “Who is it?” Y/N wondered who could be knocking at the door before dinner. “It’s Jimin.”
Y/N thought for a while, hesitating.
“You can come in.”
The door slid open, revealing Jimin in his hanbok, sliding the door closed after stepping in. Y/N didn’t fail to notice him locking the door. Y/N smirked sitting up in the tub, her long hair covering her chest. She grew confused as to why he was here when dinner was going to start. “Hey. I uh...wanted to see you. Seokjin hyung had told us to stay here for a couple more days for planning.” Y/N nodded, slightly happy that she will see him a little more often for a couple days. Possibly, she can fix her mistake. “Why are you taking a bath at this hour?” Jimin crouched down near her naked figure in the tub, his hand cupping her cheek, gently stroking it as they looked each other in the eyes. “Is it wrong for a lady to treat herself to a relaxing bath?”
2ND POV
You stood up from the tub, seeing Jimin’s cheeks turn red as his eyes fell on your naked body. You got out of the tub, grabbing your silk robe, gifted from Namjoon and Seokjin, going behind your shoji screen to put it on. Jimin watched your figure on the other side, the candle outlining every curve of your body, your breasts, and your ass. Jimin couldn’t help but felt his hanbok tighten at the moment. “Fuck.” He whispered to himself, looking down at his boner.
You came from behind your shoji screen, only wearing the silk robe which outlined your hard nipples. Jimin licked his lips at the sight of you, not caring if you saw his boner. You walked towards him, swaying your hips on purpose, smirking as soon as you saw his boner, but deciding to tease him further. “What did you come here for?” You put your hands on his chest, guiding him to sit down on your bed. Once he sat down, his eyes traced back to the outline of your nipples, lickig his lips once again. You looked at his tongue, peeking out his lips, then gliding it against his thick, plump lips. The sight of his red tongue, making you wetter by the second. “Hey! My eyes are up here.” You snapped your fingers in front of his face, snapping him out of his trance.
Jimin unconsciously put his hands on your hips pulling you closer, placing you in between his legs. “Yeah, I know. But I couldn’t help but stare at you.” Y/N felt flustered, avoiding his gaze as he took his lips in between his teeth, biting down on them. His hands roamed up to your waist, his hands still going up until his hands grazed against the sides of your breasts. You shivered at his touch, enjoying it as you have not seen him in weeks. He leaned closer, looking into your eyes as he kissed your exposed cleavage. You sighed in satisfaction and threw your head back, running your hands through his hair gently.
Jimin hugged you by the waist, encircling his arms around you, resting his chin on your chest while staring up at you. “I’ve missed you.” You looked down on him with adoration in your eyes, feeling your heart flutter mumbling, “I’ve missed you more.” He caressed your back, his attention now on your protruding lips. You noticed his gaze focusing on your lips, you looked at his lips in return having the sudden urge to kiss him, to feel him.
You felt him pulling you even closer, you felt his breath fan over your lips, closing your eyes, you waited for him to make the first move.

His soft lips then came into contact with yours softly. Your lips moving sync with another, savoring the moment that both of you have been longing for, craving each other's touch. You felt his wet muscle slight graze against your bottom lip, asking for entrance. Your lips staying shit, teasing him. His right hand sliding down to your ass, his left sliding to the form of your body and up to your right boob, squeezing them at the same time making you gasp. He used this opportunity to slide his tongue in your mouth. He took your bottom lip in between his, sucking on it. He grabbed your jaw, holding your mouth open as he slid his tongue in, you closed your mouth around his wet muscles and sucked on it, going up and down, making him groan, imagining how you would suck in his cock. Tongues swirling against each other, making you moan, feeling clit pulsating by the second, longing for him to touch you there.
You broke the kiss, saliving connecting the both of you from your kiss. You looked into his eyes, seeing love and lust, his delicious thick lips even more swollen than before. Grabbing the sides of his face, you pecked his lips lightly giggling, making him giggle as well. You straddled his lap capturing his lips in a kiss once again. You felt his hands creep down to your ass, squeezing them, receiving a moan from you. You broke the short kiss, pushing him down on the silk sheets, smashing your lips on his, forcing your tongue inside his mouth wanting to be the dominant one straddling him once more. His hands went up and down your sides, caressing your waist, squeezing it once in a while.
You broke away from his lips, trailing your kisses to his jaw down to the space to where his neck and shoulder meet. You kissed his pulmonary vein, licking from the base of his neck to his jaw line receiving a loud groan from him. You sucked and bit on his neck, his hands squeezing your hips as he hissed in pleasure and in pain. His hands grabbing the hem of your robe pulling them up until it was up to your waist, revealing your ass and your pussy. You continued painting his neck, his boner poking your inner thigh. You moved your hips down, grinding hard against his boner, you sighed in pleasure as your clit caused friction against his hanbok, which also happened to be made of silk.
“Fuck, baby. Do that again.” He quietly groaned against your neck. You sucked on his neck harder, humming against it as you grinded on his cock once again, your clit grinding against the fabric of his clothes, you felt yourself shiver from the immense pleasure you were feeling, moaning louder as he grinded up against your clit. He suddenly put his hands on your shoulders, softly pushing you away. He pushed you down on the mattress, him now on top of you. Looking at your messed up state, he chuckled. Seeing your swollen lips, ches going up and down as you tried to get your breathing even, still affected from the makeout session and sucking in his sweet neck.
He took off his vest, unbuttoning the traditional long sleeve, leaving him shirtless before you. The candles outlining his chest and his fit stomach making you lick your lips in anticipation. He grabbed your legs, putting them around his hips, your legs automatically locking him in. He untied your robe, pulling them to the side, revealing your breasts. His mouth watered at the sight, completely appalled by your beauty. He leaned down giving you a hard kiss, holding your arms above your head with one hand as he kissed down your chest.
You looked down at him, seeing him kiss your breast, sucking on it, painting it with his hickeys. You whined as he kept kissing around your nipple, being impatient. He kept teasing you until you felt him grope your breast and lick a stripe against your nipple, moaning in satisfaction. You looked down on him devouring your nipple, feeling yourself get wet by the sight, grinding up against him, feeling the outline of his hard cock making you want more. He chuckled in satisfaction before abusing your other nipple, licking, sucking, nibbling on it while keeping his eyes on you, alternating between each breast. He loves it. He loves you writhing under his body in complete satisfaction.
He pulled away from your nipple with a pop, leaning away from you, your faces only inches away from each other, as your eyes were focused on him waiting for his next move. “What do you say princess? Do you want to go even further?” With a quiet whimper, you nodded your head, your mind fuzzy, not focused on anything but wanting to feel his body against yours. Jimin chickled, slightly grinding against you making you moan, your eyebrows furrowed, your teeth biting down on your bottom lip.
Jimin dipped down, putting his tongue in your wet cavern, absolutely enjoying the taste of your mouth on his. He hummed against your lips, his legs adjusting your legs around his waist before painfully grinding up and down slowly against your pussy, steadying your position with your hands on his shoulder.. Jimin smirked seeing you enjoying it, looking down he saw a wet patch against his pants. “It seems like you're already dripping, princess. You stained my pants.” You felt your face heat up, his grinding did not stop. You slightly smirked, your hands travelled down his body
You dipped your hands in his pants, gripping his hard cock in your hands. With lidded eyes, he groaned feeling your cold hands around him. Jimin slightly smirked in return, trailing his hands down to your pulsating clit. You started to rub your hands up and down, your thumb running over the slit of his cock. “Fuck, princess. Just how I like it. Don’t you ever leave my sight ever again.” Jimin ran his fingers down your slit, collecting your witness on the tip of his fingers, lightly brushing against your clit making you moan lightly. He looked into your eyes as he brought his hands up and in his mouth, licking your wetness from his mouth, groaning in satisfaction as he tasted you. He took off his pants, leaving him completely naked before you, his tattoo on his right rib cage visible to your eyes, making him look even more sexy.
He took your hands away from his cock, intertwining your hands with his and raising them above your head once again. He captured your swollen lips in a passionate kiss, licking, sucking and biting on your lips and tongue. He grinded his swollen tip on your clit making the both of you moan and groan in pleasure. You felt his pace going from slow and light to fast and hard. You felt every vein on his cock, now lubricated by your juices. He hid his face in your neck, biting down on your neck quieting his sounds of pleasure. You covered your mouth with your right hand, your left scratching his back not being able to take the feeling pleasure from something so simple.
He stopped grinding, making you confused. He took his face away from your neck, looking into your eyes. He kissed you once again, holding your jaw open with his mouth, he spit in your mouth and slid his tongue in your mouth, both of you fighting for dominance. You suddenly moaned against his lips as you felt him push his tip in your entrance, his thumb slowly circling your clit, making you want to cry out in pleasure. “Fuck, beautiful. You’re so wet, I can probably slide right in. I love you so much.” You looked at him above you, grabbing his face, you pulled him into a kiss as he pushed himself deeper into you, his tip hitting you cervix, scratching his back in the process, receiving a loud groan from him against your lips. You pulled away, his face only centimeters away from you, mumbling, “I love you, Jimin.”
Jimin pulled his cock out of your dripping pussy, only letting the tip stay in. He slid all the way back in, hitting your cervix once again as he sucked on you nipples. Your eyes welled up with tears from the immense pleasure he was giving you, moaning against your hand, your eyes rolling to the back of your head as you arched your back.
*knock*knock*
You and Jimin looked at each other in surprise, thinking that both of you were just hearing things.
“Y/N, it’s Yoongi. It’s time to eat dinner.”
You were going to respond but suddenly felt Jimin sliding in and out of you, his pace getting faster by each thrust, making you a moaning mess. “You heard him, princess. You better respond while I’m fucking you. Or else, I’ll stop and leave you chasing your orgasm.” You whimpered, “Y-yes, Emper-ror Min. I’ll-fuck-be right o-out.” You heard his footsteps getting quieter and quieter as he walked away from your room. “Fuck fuck...right there, baby. Your cock feels so good.” You cried, and arched your back, moaning loudly as you felt your climax getting closer. You were drenched in sweat, lips swollen, stomach coiling, eyes rolling back as you couldn’t hold your profanities in. Jimin groaned loudly, his climax approaching as well. “Yeah? You like my cock ramming inside of you, hitting your g-spot? Look at you, cock slut. Taking in my cock so well every time.”
The room was filled with sounds of your skin slapping against each other and both of your moans and groans. You felt the rhythm of his thrust get messy as he was nearing his edge. He put his lips against yours in a messy kiss. “Jimin...baby, right there. I’m c-cumm-ing.” Jimin began circling your clit in figure eights, your coil snapping, feeling your walls clench tight around his cock, feeling his pulsating veins, your body shaking from your strong climax. You feel yourself getting sensitive as Jimin continues to thrust deep into you. Cumming with a groan and a snap of his hips, feeling you clench your walls, milking him.
He fell on top of you, no longer being able to hold his own weight above you. Both of your chests moving up and down trying to catch each other’s breath. Jimin finally pulled out of you after a few minutes of just relaxing, wincing in the process from your sensitivity. Jimin leaned down to kiss you, mumbling against your lips, “I love you, baby. But now it’s time to eat dinner so no one gets suspicious.” He pecked your lips before getting dressed. He made his way to the door, pouting as he didn’t see you follow him.
SMUT STOPS HERE
You got off the bed, tying your robe again. You felt your legs wobble as you made your way to him, Jimin chuckling the effect he has on you. You pecked his lips multiple times before hugging him, enjoying having his arms around you. You fixed his post-sex hair, giggling to yourself. “Alright, I’ll see you in a few minutes.” Jimin bent down to your height and pecked your lips, not getting enough he slid his tongue in your mouth again.
Pulling away from the kiss Jimin looked into your eyes and said, "아침에 널 무릎 꿇게 할 수 있는 건 나뿐이라는 걸 잊지 마. 무슨 말인지 알겠지."* Jimin smirked at you, your cheeks heating up from his statement. You slapped his chest making him throw his head back in laughter. He looked into your eyes, his smile slowly disappearing. You looked at him worried you did something wrong, worried that he realized maybe that what you two were doing is wrong.
“나를 절대 잊지 마. 왜냐하면 당신이 그의 것이라도 나는 항상 당신을 사랑할 것이기 때문이다.”* Your eyes teared up, throwing your hands around him, hugging him tight. You did not want to accept reality, when did anyone ever want to? Jimin hugged you back tighter, holding you against his chest, pecking your hair and breathing in your scent. Something he can never get over. He pulled back from the hug, holding your face in his hands, frowning on seeing your teary eyes.
“하지만 내가 널 다시 내 것으로 만들 테니 걱정하지 마. 난 널 너무 사랑해”* At that moment your tears had fallen down from your eyes. Jimin wiped your tears, pulling you back into his embrace, whispering sweet nothings to your ear to help you calm down.
After a few minutes, with a smile, one had walked away, only, you were the one being left behind this time. You sighed feeling a sudden burst of emotion with Jimin’s words, standing in front of her door ajar. You slid the door close only for a hand to slide it back open again catching you by surprise. Your eyes widened as you saw Yoongi leaning on the frame with his arms crossed, his figure towering over yours.
Yoongi noticed your disheveled look, something he had already seen before. He smirked, stepping into your room, stepping back in fear that you and Jimin had been caught. He scoffed looking at you who was afraid to look into his eyes not knowing what changed for you to fear him. Yoongi grabbed your jaw, forcing you to look into his eyes. “I don’t want you anywhere near Jimin anymore, do you understand? The purpose of your job isn’t for you to whore around, Y/N. Go dress up in your hanbok. It’s time for dinner.” Your eyes filled with tears, never has he ever called you a “whore.” You feared what he could do to Jimin. You’ve seen what he can do to people and it was something you didn’t want to witness happening to Jimin, a person you’re in love with.
Yoongi noticed your tears cascading down your blushing cheeks, your flustered appearance slightly satisfying him as you looked vulnerable in front of him. He caressed your cheek before leaving a kiss on them, making you flinch. Yoongi growled, slightly pushing you away from him, not satisfied with your response to his kiss. He had made his way to exit the room, pausing before he had made his way completely out the doorway, he turned around looking at you with cold eyes. He made his way towards you in large strides, pulling on your arm, bringing his mouth near your ear whispering the truth you were glad he did not reveal in front of the others.
“And don’t forget the day you oathed yourself to me…,my beautiful consort.”

Kim Jae Wook - Actor Spotlight
June 5, 2019 by misvictrix [Soompi]
Kim Jae-wook is in this week’s spotlight, but he hardly needs an introduction. His recent drama Her Private Life, where he starred opposite Park Min-young, is quickly becoming a cult favorite — and yep, both their performances were fantastic. As the drama has just wrapped up (nooo!), it seems like a good time to take a look at Kim Jae-wook’s acting career.
Born in 1983 in Seoul, South Korea, Kim Jae-wook’s career had an early start in 2002 with a small role in the MBC drama Ruler of Your Own World. He was young at the time, and apparently didn’t enjoy the acting experience. Instead, he focused on his modeling career for many years. When Kim Jae-wook finally returned to the small screen, it was with a supporting role in two now-classic dramas: Dal Ja’s Spring and Coffee Prince.
Although those dramas (especially the latter) should have been enough to guarantee his success, it hasn’t been till recently that he’s starting to get the recognition he deserves. After Her Private Life, he’s definitely at a great point in his career. Quick, make us more dramas!
Here are some dramaland moments from Kim Jae-wook, followed by his full filmography.
Who Are You (2013)
I’m not quite sure how I got through all of this drama. I don’t like creepy tales, and I especially don’t like poorly written creepy tales. However, I have a soft spot for Taecyeon, and tvN, so it seemed like a good idea at the time. Little did I know that this drama would be my introduction to Kim Jae-wook (*choir of angels*). It’s not exactly easy to steal an entire drama when you don’t even have a single line of dialogue — but Kim Jae-wook sure pulled it off. In Who Are You Kim Jae-wook played the wrongfully-murdered beloved of So Yi-hyun’s heroine. She was haunted/visited by him (depending on how you look at it, I guess) and it’s just a testament to his acting that his character was able to have the impact he did. White as a sheet, more silent than any Jang Ki-yong role, and not even doing much but standing there, Kim Jae-wook’s compelling screen presence held this drama together. Thank you.
Temperature of Love (2017)
In the face-off of Yang Se-jong and Kim Jae-wook, who can ever win the heart of the heroine? Truthfully, this drama was about much more than its love triangle — in fact, the love triangle was one of the weakest elements. It’s also one of the rare dramas where my perennial second lead syndrome was shelved (it’s a good drama practice to shelve that painful emotion from time to time). In Temperature of Love, Kim Jae-wook was cold, rich, and completely taken with Seo Hyun-jin’s screenwriting heroine. Though I didn’t love how the triangle/tension played out in moments, I never doubted the authenticity of his character’s emotions. Kim Jae-wook was also a nice foil for Yang Se-jong, who seemed extra young and chipper next to the suave businessman with the power to make or break the people around him.
Her Private Life (2019)
I loved the thought of Kim Jae-wook and Park Min-young starring together, but wasn’t really sure what to expect out of this drama… and boy have I been pleasantly surprised! I’m one of the first people to get drama fatigue over rom-coms with no personality — luckily, Her Private Life has not only personality, but pizzazz, super duper chemistry, and yeah, it’s also hilarious. Kim Jae-wook is great in this role, and it’s such a better character for him than the somewhat (conceptually) similar role he played in Temperature of Love. Here, he gets to have so much more fun, not only because he’s actually in the leading role, but because the script, thankfully, gives him more to do than just be a cold, smitten boss. Not that he doesn’t rock cold and smitten too.
Kim Jae-wook’s full filmography:
Ruler of Your Own World (2002) [Drama]
Kim Jae-wook made his acting debut with a side role in this Lee Na-young and Yang Dong-geun drama, but apparently had a bad time filming, and wasn’t sure about pursuing acting.
Dal Ja’s Spring (2007) [Drama]
Though many were blinded by Lee Min-ki when they watched this drama, Kim Jae-wook had an important (for his career, not really the drama) side role here as Lee Min-ki’s friend. Importantly, this drama was his return to the small screen after a 5-year break.
Coffee Prince (2007) [Drama]
I love long-haired Kim Jae-wook. That is all.
Antique (2008) [Film]
Comedy film based on a Japanese manga about a bakery that starred Joo Ji-hoon, Yoo Ah-in, Choi Ji-ho, and Kim Jae-wook, and got a good bit of acclaim.
Kingdom of the Wind (2008) [Drama]
Kim Jae-wook had a side role in this epic historical drama that told the story of several figures from the Three Kingdoms period.
Pygmalion’s Love (2010) [Drama]
Having grown up in Japan (he spent 7 years there), Kim Jae-wook has a great command of Japanese and it’s helped his career a lot. This short Japanese drama with Kim Joon and Minamisawa Nao is just one example.
Heart of Gold (2010) [Film]
Kim Jae-wook and Hong Kong actress Janice Man starred in this web-released movie about a Koream artist who travels to Japan.
Bad Guy (2010) [Drama]
No matter how bad the hero is, or how bad the plot is, this melodrama is one I want to watch. In addition to Kim Jae-wook, this drama starred Kim Nam-gil, Han Ga-in, Oh Yeon-soo, and Jung So-min.
Mary Stayed Out All Night (2010) [Drama]
This rom-com starred Moon Geun-young, Jang Geun-seok, and Kim Jae-wook and hit some hairy behind-the-scenes drama. In-drama drama was more about love, marriage, and forging marriage certificates.
Save Me (2010) [Film]
Short art film with Kim Jae-wook and Kim So-yi as a couple with a weird hobby.
Who Are You (2013) [Drama]
Getting ghosted by a ghost has never looked so good (see above).
Age of Feeling (2014) [Drama]
Unfortunately, Kim Jae-wook met with more behind-the-scene drama while shooting this ill-fated Kim Hyun-joong historical drama, and left mid-show after its writer swap.
4teen (2014) [Drama/Cameo]
Kim Jae-wook played the adult version of one of the leads in this two-episode drama special about a group of fourteen-year-olds.
Sweet Temptation (2015) [Web Drama]
I’m not sure how Kim Jae-wook wound up in this series of short dramas written for the members of T-ara, but he did.
Planck Constant (2015) [Film]
This art film starred Kim Jae-wook in the lead and chronicled his odd and/or erotic fetishes.
Two Rooms, Two Nights (2016) [Film]
Kim Jae-wook starred as a popular movie director who tried to keep two girlfriends going simultaneously. I’m not sure if we’re supposed to sympathize with him or not? Because I’m not.
The Last Princess (2016) [Film]
Sohn Ye-jin starred in this historical film as the last princess of Korea, and Kim Jae-wook was the Japanese nobleman who married her.
Voice (2017) [Drama]
The first of OCN’s Voice dramas made a big splash, and Kim Jae-wook got a lot of attention for his role in this Jang Hyuk and Lee Hana drama.
Temperature of Love (2017) [Drama]
It might not be perfect but I really enjoyed this drama — and the wonderful cast: Yang Se-jong, Hyun Seo-jin, Kim Jae-wook, and Jo Boa (see above).
Butterfly Sleep (2018) [Film]
Kim Jae-wook starred with Miho Nakayama in this Japanese film about a writer with Alzheimer’s who met a younger Korean man (Kim Jae-wook).
God’s Quiz: Reboot (2018) [Drama/Cameo]
Kim Jae-wook had a cameo in the final episode of the latest/fifth installment of this series about a medical examiner’s office.
Her Private Life (2019) [Drama]
Lion Ryan Gold. Yes, yes, all the YES (see above).
BONUS: I read somewhere that Kim Jae-wook loves to clean and sometimes cleans for 4-5 hours at a time. I just needed to share that information.

thoughts on endgame.
fair warning, i am not going to be kind. i enjoyed watching this movie, for the most part. it was funny; it had many good jokes and good, pure and well done interactions between multiple characters. but i didnt like it, and here are the reasons why.
unfortunately, this isnt a ‘nitpicky’ post. my main problems are with a lot of the bigger points points of the film, and had quite a few. this is a LONG post.
• “marvels first gay character!!!!!!!!!!!!” shut up. you joined the ‘fad’ late for brownie points and it was a cameo character who got about 3 lines. there are plenty of canon queer and gay characters who could have been introduced, either as cameos or in earlier films. dont even get me started on the fact that tony has more canon bi material than most others and marvel could have taken the time or even the slightest bit of effort to make this. while i enjoyed the jokes about steve being Incredibly Hot and his ass being Gods Gift To America (which honestly??? correct!) that could have been expanded on. several characters made comments about how nice steve’s ass is, and could have been used as actual material for a queer character, instead of sticking a random chharacter in there. i get the whole ‘gay people could be anyone! its normal!’ thing by giving the ‘role’ to a regular person, but you would also prove that by making any one of your 30+ main cast actually queer instead of making gay jokes and hints that could be retconned and explained away by humour.
• slapping someone out of a panic attack, and treating the panic attack like a joke. yeah, i get it, they didnt have a lot of time. still, come on. did iron man 3 teach you nothing? apparently not since tonys ptsd was pretty much never brought up again.
• speaking of thor. now, i am not an expert, but when a person gains weight, they do not keep their abs. certainly not after five entire years - not even asgardians. i also found it odd that thor became the way he did. i understand gaining weight and comfort eating after all the trauma thor went through losing his home and brother and people, i really do, but 1.) do it properly, at least, and 2.) thor is the leader of his people. does he want the task? not particularly. he hasnt wanted to be king since the first thor movie, but hes been forced into the role. even depressed i dont think thor would shy away from it, not completely. hes always wanted to do right by his people and i think that hed stuck to it, especially after The Snap backing him into a corner, if that makes sense. to clarify, i dont have a problem with chubby/fat thor. (IF done right instead of with weird, shitty cgi, that is.) i have a problem with the fact that thor, even though he doesnt want to be king, would abandon the last remanents displaced people to build a new home all on their own and become a hermit gamer boy. ESPECIALLY with valkyrie around. she’s been through a derpressive, alcohol fuelled time in her life and thor pulled her out of it. (mostly anyway, asgardians are party animals and im p sure she still gets trolleyed on the reg) i have bo doubt that after years of wallowing she would do her damned best to try and kick his ass out of it, even if it were just because his people need a leader, instead of letting him drop everything on her and just let him stew while new asgard gets on with it. i also didnt like the fact that all of thors emotional moments were treated as jokes and made to be funny when hes genuinely Fucked Up about eveything thats happening and made his image into a whiny crybaby.
• professor hulk. more of a personal one, this, simply because i just didnt like it. fair enough if y’all disagree on this one, im not going to fight it. i just never saw him wanting to combine himself with the hulk. ever. when he apleared on the screen i was completely blindsided, and his explanation, and the way he interacted with the kids????? i just want to know where all of this confidence suddenly came from. i use the term ‘suddenly’ loosely, since its been five years, but bruce has never been the guy to care about strength or looks or fame. hes always been shy and nerdy. not afraid to stand his ground or make his opinion known. hes bot a catchphrase, posing and flexing ‘hell yeah lets take a selfie’ guy. i get that thats maybe the result of the hulk and bruces combined personality but it just felt WEIRD to me, like, there wasnt a time in the film where i felt comfortable with the character. this was the final avengers film, with all of the original six avengers in it. but it didnt feel like that, it didnt feel like bruce or the hulk was in the film, even though there was a lot of funny and good moments with orofessor hulk, it felt like a stranger with some familiar characteristics. it ruined any feelings of nostalgia for me. i like bruce, and i like the hulk. i like the way their differences add to the story and the way they interact with eachother, and the slow change in their relationship. sorry if its petty but i prefer them seperate, theres just so much more to them for me.
• clint and natasha’s journey for the soul stone. both times, in infinity war and endgame, a male character and a female character went to get the soul stone. both times the male came back and the female died, and we lost possibly two most developed and main-line female characters in the entire mcu. now i understand the reasoning for both, and out of the characters that went there, i agree with the choice. thanos and gamora; it was thanos who was aware of the sacrifice and who chose to make it. gamora didnt get a choice and was unaware until it was too late. thanos was never going to die there. he knew there would be a sacrifice and chose to take gamora, because she would be the most likely sacrifice to actualky sucsesfully yield the soul stone because she was the most loved by him. i get it, but we lost gamora and i dont like it. clint and natasha; looking at it completely objectively, clint has a family, a wife and three children, that he wants to get back. natasha does not have any children, nor any (blood) family. if i had to choose, based on facts like that, id choose her too. but i still hate it, because there goes the only female member of the avengers. also, nebula (and i think maybe rocket?) KNEW that a sacrifice would be made and either accidentaly or deliverately left out the terms of aquiring the soul stone. it would have been easy to tell, if not easy to solve. but nothinb was said, and two best friends had to make a fucking awful and horrible choice when they might not have had to.
• on the ‘feminism’ tangent; the random congragation of women in the end scene??????? i dont????? okay so i am marking myself as a hypocrite here because i did love this scene!!! it made my lil gay heart go boom to see so many good and strong women all in one place - ESPECIALLY rescue - and it also made me realise how many women there actually are across the mcu??? which was really nice?? but it just felt... so forced? the way they ALL suddenly apleared and stood together even though they were all mixed in around the battlefield. it was a wonderful thought and i did enjoy it, but it seemed too Off and Odd to seem as much more than a bid for Feminism Brownie Points.
• captain marvel. i dont know about you, but i was actually looking forward to her being in the film. for a character so hyped to be the saviour of the avengers and the end of thanos, she was barely in the film. ‘i have other planets to save, the earth isnt the only one affected by thanos’ yeah but earth is the only plannet actively attacked by him. its where the people who are rallying to fight him and reverse what he did are. dont you want to stick around and help them? surely it would be a hell of a lot easier with your help, and faster too. yes, she blasted theough the ship at the end, but she did fuck all to help defeat thanos himself, and the help she did give with the ship came at the end. i genuinely think they kept her out of the movie because she was too powerful, and would have made fighting thanos etc too easy to get all the suffering and noble sacrifices in. if she had been a side character i dont think id be as mad, but she got a whole MOVIE in which she is clearly the start of the entire avengers initiative; she is their HISTORY!!!! she is so powerful!!!! and yet she has 5 mins of screen time!! it pisses me off that she was So Strongly implied to be the character the avengers NEEDED, the one that without whom it would be IMPOSSIBLE to defeat thanos; the woman that really tipped the scales in there favour, and yet she did fuck all. (and lets not even get started on the carol/rhodey and carol+tony bromance we COMPLETELY missed out on.)
• (speaking of bonding what the fuck happened to tony and nebula????? after they were rescued it was like they never met)
• the whole entire concept of time what the fuck!!! ‘dont change anything’ okay well for the most part you did okay, and the PLAN and CONCEPT was actually really easy to grasp, at least to me, which is hard when working with paradoxes and wibbley-wobbley timey-wimey stuff. but that went out the water when past!thanos and his army were brought into the future and disintergrated. does this mean they’re dead in the past - since they would have just. Left and not come back and therefore ceased to exist from that point???? or did tonys Snap simply send them back to their point in time, with no memory of what had occured? idk because it aint explained.
• speaking of; loki. again - his past changed; he managed to escape, with the tessarect. this is not explained nor expanded upon. assuming the events of thor 2 came about - which were impossible if he escaped - then his timeline would carry on as normal, and would PERHAPS explain the tessarects wacky timeline. (i dont know for certain, because i cant work it out anyway). but loki disspearing means he wouldnt have gone to trial on asgard, nor would he wouldnt have been in thor 2 - also by extention meaning that frigga is still alive. technically if he went back to get odin off the throne anyway, everything else after thor 2 involving loki/asgard would still come to pass. either way, we dont know. it was a nice way for endgame to give fans what we wanted; the posibility of loki coming back. but it doesnt make a lick of sense, and we have no idea if hes still alive/escaped or not, and why. personally i have no fucking idea and im pretty sure it was a cop out so they could give us what we wanted. which brings to my other point:
• giving the audience what we wanted. we got loki interaction. we got loki ‘escaping’ and ‘surviving’ (????) we FINALLY got rescue, who many fans have been asking for since i think iron man 2, and even more so since The Badass That Was Pepper Potts in im3. we got morgan stark and tony and pepper married, we got jokes about steves ass, and more jokes about male characters admiring how hot other male characters are. and, most importantly, we got tony having the nice relaxing life he wanted out in his cabin in the woods with his wife and kids (even if it was a horrific way of getting there). i dont quite know how to explain it, but to me it seemed like they were shoving as many ‘fan-requests’ into the film as possible - so that when they killed off 2 of the original 6, and removed another by ageing him out of use, they could lessen the backlash and justify the changes by going ‘but you got so mych that you wanted beforehand!!’. a tactic they drenhed us with because one of those 2 was a fan favourite that people were BEGGING not to be killed off because they felt that he hadnt recieved anywhere near the peace or happiness he deserved so far - and now never will. which brings me to:
• tony’s death.
there are two parts to this.
one, i was incredibly pissed off because strange’s Big Plan, the ONLY reason he saved tony in infinity war, was so tony could use the gauntlet and kill himself anyway later. anyone in that film could have used that gauntlet - and many wouldnt have suffered fatal injuries; captain marvel, steve, t’challa, peter quill to name a few possibilities - basically, anyone who is in anyway enhanced would have had a better chance of surviving and would have therefore been the better choice; aka, half the mcu. i think it was a proximity thing; tony was closest. he had the oppertunity and the others didnt. but tony didnt know about the option of using it until strange looked at him and gave him ‘the signal.’ the signal to sacrifice himself. and of course, this is tony stark. when is he ever going to refuse that.
but reason two, and this is the one that stings the most; tony started the mcu.
in my opinion, he is the character who has put the most in during the whole ten years. he, of ALL the characters, deserves his happy ending of marrying the love of his life and having a kid, without constantly fearing that hes foing to have them ripped away from him, that hes going to have to fight to the death to keep them safe.
one of my friends, when i complained about tony dying, said; “it was his time. plus, he had a legacy! with pepper and morgan, and the iron man name. how can you be upset?”
i can be upset because tony got the happiness he wanted after losing exactly 50% of what he held dearest. i can be upset because hawkeye got his family back, but tony only got five years with his wife and less with his kid, instead of getting the oppertunity to grow old with his wife and watch his kid go to collage like clint will. i can be upset because the character that has gone through the most trauma, both physically and mentally, who spent the last ten years trying to better the world and everything in it and protect it, who got the most shit for every decision he made and who ended EVERY SINGLE FILM with a broken limb or his face littered with bruises and cuts while every other film centric character ended the film usually scrape free, didnt get his happy fucking ending. sure, he has a legacy. but i dont give a shit, because that legacy - of iron man, of morgan and pepper and stark industries - would have been there whether tony was alive to see it flourish or not. but he wont be.
this goes beyond being a ‘tony stan’ or tony being my favourite character. out of every single character, from start to finish, anthony edward stark fucking deserved a happy ending and by god he deserved it the most. i will argue that until my end of days.
i watched tony stark on screen for ten years, and i watched him get progressively more scarred and fucked up. his parents. the ten rings. losing yinsen. obie. vanko and hammer. the palladium poisoning. new york; the nuke and the wormhole. the ptsd, the panic attacks. the iron legion and retirement attempt. killian and extremis and the end of that returement attempt. wanda’s vision. jarvis being destroyed. the accords and subsequent civil war. finding out about the winter soldier and his hand in his parents death. finding out that steve knew. siberia. struggling to balence iron man and the accords. losing peter. being stranded on titan, in space for weeks.
tony in that wheelchair, shaking and rail thin and unable to stand for more than a few moments will haunt me forever.
i watched him suffer for ten years - longer, even, in-universe - clawing for his quiet, happy ending while fighting for the happy ending he thought the rest of the world deserved, and instead of getting rewarded he just got beaten down and beaten down. after ten fucking hears of watching the backbone of the entire franchise get nothing but shit piled on him until he struggled to breathe for it, excuse me for thinking he woukd finally get the chance to crawl out from under it and be happy. no strungs attatched, no awful, sacrificial price to be payed, just for a man who had given so. fucking. much. to finally get something for once, and be allowed to keep it.
well i was wrong. and i feel so incredibly fucking stupid for even hoping otherwise.
and thats what i didnt like about avengers endgame.

ENDGAME SPOILERS!!
Okay I saw Endgame last night and I need to vent... AHHHHHH!!! haha I have so many mixed emotions and I don’t even know. Also I typed this on mobile so sorry for any typos.
So I first saw Iron Man when I was 11, and it was so cool. I grew up watching all of these movies. At first, Cap was my favorite bc he was ~cute~ and I was a young teen girl and so were all my friends. I also loved Loki for this reason haha. Then I saw Iron Man 3 and LOVED IT. I bought it on DVD as soon as it came out. Tony Stark was amazing, but also he dealt with anxiety and panic attacks? His and Pepper’s relationship was everything as well, and also his and Happy’s and Rhodey’s friendships. Tony felt real and human and relatable, and it was cool he was able to overcome so much even with all of his trauma. In AOU he just wanted to protect his team, and no one truly listened to or respected him or tried to understand him, and he ended up with more trauma and guilt. I just wanted him to have a happy ending. Then he met Peter and it brought me hope, after all the Civil War crap. Infinity War was crushing but not completely because I knew another movie was coming out, so there was still some hope. But then Endgame. Honestly... I’m still processing, but I don’t think I’m happy with it. And for more reasons than just Tony, though I’ll talk about that first. His storyline just seemed... blah. He gets back, gets to yell at Steve, and then goes and lives in seclusion with Pepper and has a kid. Yet you know that even with that life he’s still depressed and guilt-ridden. It’s how Pepper knows he won’t stop. So he does his best to help, time travels or whatever (honestly that whole part is still kinda confusing to me- it created alternate timelines, but what are the implications of that- and also for the rest of the MCU??) and then Tony comes back and it looks like they’ve succeeded. I was expecting him to notice something off about Nebula, tbh. But anyway, final battle, and we all know what happens. He makes the sacrifice play. He dies. Pepper says it’s okay, but I just can’t agree. He already made the sacrifice play in the first movie. I think it should have been Steve or someone else in this one to do it. If all Tony’s pain and trauma has been building to this- I just feel empty inside. It’s not a satisfying end. Sure, he saved the universe, but I feel like Strange literally could have like left a message saying don’t send Nebula to the past and all of that would have been avoided. It felt so pointless. They’d already won. Tony also only got to reunite with Peter for like 30 mins, which is lame, and will bring a whole lot more trauma to him. He didn’t even get to see Morgan again. Ughhh I’m just annoyed. And then Steve?? He just goes to live in the past?? The whole movie he’s been saying he doesn’t move on, and then he literally never does, he never grows from there. He doesn’t really develop at all. It’s true- he never truly moved on from the past, and so that means... he’ll just go live there??? I think a better move would be to have him grow to accept his life and try to be happy and actually move on. Or, like I said earlier, he could have realized he can’t move on and made that sacrifice play himself in order to allow others to live and move on. I think that would have been a more satisfying arc to his story. And it would show the love he actually has for Tony- to allow Tony to live with his family and show that he heard and understood what Tony said at the beginning of the movie. (Also, they never had a real conversation where they made up. It was like they kind had that “do you trust me” moment but Steve never truly apologized and I feel like we got jipped out of a good heartfelt moment between those two.) Also- the Natasha sacrifice was sad, but I’m not totally surprised by it. It feels like a very her thing to do, to save her family and Clint’s. But then after everyone got mad and had a quick moment of silence, it was kind of forgotten?? Like they could have even had a memorial or small tribute at Ton’s funeral or elsewhere but like put something in?? It feels like she was just kind of brushed aside. (Also- I didn’t like BruceNat at first but grew to be okay with it, but then it never became anything? Bruce made himself into Professor Hulk and there was no real closure or conversation between him and Natasha? So like... what. was. the. point???) Again, everything with her just wasn’t that satisfying, but it’s something I may grow to view differently. I did enjoy Clint’s arc and I actually think they did a great job with him. Probably the strongest arc of the movie, actually. The way they handled Thor kind of annoyed me. I think it’s perfectly understandable that he would end up like that. He’s lost his family and most of his kingdom, and he feels responsible. I don’t have a problem with that. I have a problem with how the movie and the characters responded to that. Judgmental looks and jokes... like I’ll be honest, I did chuckle at Rhodey’s Cheez Whiz joke, but now I regret that. Like being fat is funny, haha look at Thor, he’s out of shape! Uhh yeah he’s depressed! And Rhodey should know better, being friends with Tony, he should know how to handle anxiety and depression. Nobody was really trying to help or even talk to Thor much, they really just wanted him to help them. Like he was clearly struggling, and yet that was used as a joke... it makes me sad. And also Thor never even looked back at Loki? The convo with his mom was nice though. But that reminds me? Was Loki’s infinity war death actually real then? Bc ugh. I’d be more willing to accept him being permanently dead if it wasn’t in such a lame way. Daggers, seriously?? Loki has freakin magic, and he’s smart!! He could have duplicated himself or something, and that type of lame death is so unsatisfying. Also. Captain. Freaking. Marvel. I went to the movie in a Captain Marvel T-Shirt, hers is one of the first actual comics I read, and I loved her movie. I was soooo excited to see her in this movie and become part of the team and to have some really fun banter with everyone. But then she just... disappears for basically the whole movie and hardly speaks at all (thinking about it- I think all the female characters speaking overall was wayyy low compared to mens which is sad) and she blows up the big ship at the end and that’s basically it. She didn’t really join the team, and she could have been so helpful! You’re telling me they didn’t make a way to communicate with her and they didn’t want to include her in their time travel adventures?? She could have had a funny interaction with Nick in 2012, or stopped Nebula from getting taken in 2014, or helped out more overall, idk. But she should have been a bigger part of the team. They hyped her up so much when she was hardly in the movie at all, which was extremely disappointing. Like I feel so cheated about this. This is something I’ll probably be bitter about for a while tbh... ugh she’s a queen and deserves so much more haha. Also Okoye and Wong would have been useful assets for the time travel and yet they were hardly in the movie at all? So many underutilized characters smh.... (Also I know this would be impossible and the point of the movie is for the main Marvel characters but you’re telling me that in 5 years, there was no random like French or Chinese or any other country’s scientist that could have developed time travel or another method of reversing the snap? Or someone from one of the bazillion planets out there? Like there have to have been other smart people/aliens who went all Liam Neeson after the snap and were out for revenge and solutions and they could have come up with something in those five years. But again, I know that wouldn’t work for the movie...) I just feel that a conclusion to the first real era and characters of Marvel should be more satisfying. But that’s just me, I know there are people who are plenty happy with it, and I think that’s valid. These are just my thoughts. Also, that was a long rant but I don’t want to be completely negative. Here’s some things I did enjoy. -Clint’s arc. Again, I felt it was really strong and emotional and hit all the right notes. They did a good job with him and I’m glad he got to go back to his family. -Nebula. She’s grown so much y’all. I do wish she got the final blow on Thanos, and that she clicked the button to go to the present faster so Thanos couldn’t come after them, but other than that I thought her storyline was great. She’s awesome. -That moment with all the female characters after Peter got hurt. I cheered. Marvel has so many amazing women and it was great to see them all together. I kinda wish they were given more lines and screen time though but this moment was super cool. -Morgan was adorable and I love her. -Pepper’s understanding of Tony was also great. She knew he needed to do something if he could, especially for Peter, she’s grown so much and she loves her mans I love her. -Almost the whole 2012 time travel thing was great. Some good humor and nostalgia, it was fun, I really liked it. The Loki alternate timeline would be cool to explore and I wonder if that’s what the show will be about. -Wanda had a great moment against Thanos. -Okay, while I do think that whole final battle was ultimately pointless and could have easily been avoided, the moment when T’Challa and the Guardians and everyone came in through the portals was amazingly epic and beautiful and powerful. The audience cheered and I did too. It was a cool scene. -Tony and Nebula in the ship at the beginning was great. -If Steve isn’t gonna be Cap anymore, Sam deserves it and I’m glad they went with him. -The Ancient One, Frigga, and other’s cameos were pretty cool. I liked those moments. -Tony’s convo with Howard was great. I like that he got a little bit of closure with his dad. There’s probably more but I’ve written a lot so I need to be done haha. Let me know your thoughts!! :)

August 2018 in Review
I have a weird memory. It’s highly pattern-driven and very visual. This means that my memory of films I’ve watched is based on images and series of images that made an impression instead of plot points. It’s why I rewatch movies so often. Even though I’ve been tracking my movie viewing habits for two and a half years, that doesn’t mean I’ve created strong memories for all those movies. That’s why I’m gonna start doing monthly roundups of the new-to-me films that struck me, one way or the other.
[If you wanna know all the films I’m watching, I keep full lists on letterboxd and imdb.]
The reviews below are essentially transcriptions of the notes I took right after watching the films. Because of Summer Under the Stars and my cosplay challenge, this month was pretty TCM heavy for me.
Full Roundup BELOW THE JUMP!
Teen Titans Go to the Movies (2018)
27 July 2018 | 84 min. | Color
Directed and Written by Aaron Horvath and Peter Rida Michail
Starring Greg Cipes, Scott Menville, Khary Payton, Tara Strong, and Hynden Walch
I’m already a fan of the show and the movie kicks it up a notch with its humor and style. [If you liked the original series, give TTG a chance already.] TTG to the Movies is a great superhero movie for anyone who’s down for superhero stories but is fatigued by the current spate of offerings. Grain-of-Salt warning here because I think Superman III (1983) is great.
Fun that they included some gags here and there for the parents out there who’ve had to hear the Waffles song a few too many times. Also, one of the best ending gags for a kid’s movie ever.
Where to Watch: Still in theaters, but I’d imagine Cartoon Network will be playing it soon.
Doctor X (1932)
27 August 1932 | 76 min. | 2-strip Technicolor
Directed by Michael Curtiz
Written by Earl Baldwin and Robert Tasker
Starring Lionel Atwill, Lee Tracy, and Fay Wray
I made the statement that Darkman (1990) is the most comic-book movie that isn’t adapted from a comic book. I hadn’t seen Doctor X yet though.
The set pieces are phenomenal. Each shot is artfully constructed and the way the shots are strung together makes the most of the production design. If one were to do a comic adaptation, it would take some imaginative work to not just mimic the film. The 2-strip technicolor is particularly effective in the laboratory scenes in creating an eerie aura. Sensational.
Lee Tracy is playing, as usual, a press man and he’s doing so perfectly. Tracy is so underrated.
Where to Watch: Looks like the DVD is out of print, so maybe check your local library or video store. TCM plays it every once and a while and, since Warner Bros has a deal with Filmstruck, I wouldn’t be surprised to see it pop up there eventually.
The Half-Naked Truth (1932)
16 December 1932 | 77 min. | B&W
Directed by Gregory La Cava
Written by Corey Ford and Gregory La Cava
Starring Frank Morgan, Eugene Pallette, Lee Tracy, and Lupe Velez
You might very well think Lee Tracy was a featured TCM star this month. (Maybe next SUTS? Pretty please.)
Lupe Velez is so talented and natural it was nice to see her in a film where her wits were matched. I’ll be honest, I’m a big Lupe fan but, for most of her films, she’s the only good reason to watch them. This wasn’t the case here! There are a lot of wonderful moments with small movements and gestures that make Velez and Tracy’s relationship feel very real, as if they’re actually that caught up in one another. Eugene Pallette, Franklin Pangborn, and Frank Morgan round out the ensemble. The running eunuch joke might not be all that funny, but it’s a masterclass in not saying what you mean. Also, very cute chihuahua.
Where to Watch: The DVD is available from the Warner Archive. (So, once again, local library or video store might have a copy.)
The Cuban Love Song (1931)
5 December 1931 | 86 min. | B&W
Directed by W.S. Van Dyke
Written by John Lynch, Bess Meredith, and C. Gardener Sullivan
Starring Jimmy Durante, Lawrence Tibbett, Ernest Torrance, and Lupe Velez
Lupe is wonderful in this. She plays a Cuban woman who sounds an awful lot like a Mexican woman--which might be something you have to overlook to enjoy the film FYI. Lawrence Tibbett has a shocking dearth of charisma in the lead, but Jimmy Durante, Ernest Torrence, and Louise Fazenda take the heat off him well. It’s a little hard to root for Tibbett’s character and the ending is disappointing. (Spoiler: privileging of the affluent “white” couple.)
The songs are great. I love the habit of placing people in musicals so that they are singing full force directly into each other’s faces. I don’t know why I find it so funny, but it’s not a mood ruiner for Cuban Love Song. The editing is fun and energetic. Until the war breaks out, there’s a lot of solid humor.
After watching so many Lupe films this month, I’d love to sit down with people who do and don’t know Spanish to talk about her films. There seem to be some divisions on social media and across blogs about Lupe’s films that might be attributable to whether or not one understands Spanish. I myself understand Spanish reasonably well and I think knowing what Lupe and others are saying makes almost all of her films funnier. And boy, does Lupe like calling men stupid animals.
Where to Watch: This one seems kinda rare. Looks like there may have been a VHS release, but you may just have to wait for TCM to play it again!
The Night Stalker (1972)
11 January 1972 | 74 min. | Color
Directed by John Llewellyn Moxey
Written by Jeffrey Grant Rice and Richard Matheson
Starring Carol Lynley, Darren McGavin, and Simon Oakland
and
The Night Strangler (1973)
16 January 1973 | 74 min. | Color
Directed by Dan Curtis
Written by Jeffrey Grant Rice and Richard Matheson
Starring Darren McGavin, Simon Oakland, and Jo Ann Pflug
I loved that these films are exactly like the Kolchak TV series. My SO and I have been watching the show weekly as it airs on MeTV and so he surprised me by renting the movies that kicked off the series. Honestly, watching backwards may have made the movies even more entertaining. How is Kolchak still working for Vincenzo in Las Vegas?? The answer is in Seattle.
The TV movies were intended as a trilogy, but after the success of the first two films, it was developed into a series instead. It’s cool to see how every piece of the Kolchak formula was in place immediately and how firmly Darren McGavin had a hold on the character. His chemistry with Simon Oakland (Vincenzo) is spectacular--a great comedy duo TBH. If you like their shouting matches on the show, Night Strangler has a humdinger to offer you.
Night Stalker is a pretty straight-forward vampire story, written by Richard Matheson, one of the great spec-fic writers of the 1960s and 1970s. Matheson also wrote one of the best undead novels of all time, I am Legend. What elevates the film over the basic mythology, aside from the great performances, pacing, and editing, is that the story’s really about how suppression actually goes down--how mundane and frustrating it can be even in the face of the supernatural.
Night Strangler is a little more creative with its monster. They integrate the nature and landmarks of Seattle in fun ways. The stripper characters are delightful. Jo Ann Pflug gives a truly funny performance and feels like a natural contender for Kolchak. Even his romantic relationships should be affectionately combative. The ditzy lesbian, Charisma Beauty (Nina Wayne) is hilarious and Wayne’s timing is impeccable. (BTW: they don’t explicitly call her a lesbian but it’s still made very overt.) There’s also a wonderful cameo by Margaret Hamilton.
As far as I can tell, it’s easier to get access to these films than the series. They’re worth seeing even if you haven’t seen the Kolchak TV show. They’re also a good pick if you’re a fan of X-Files, as Kolchak is the mother of that show. Even though I’m an X-Files fan and grew up watching it, Kolchak is edging it out for me lately. Maybe because if you’re telling a story about fighting for truth against the suppression of information, you undercut yourself by making the protagonist a fed.
Where to Watch: Kino Lorber is releasing restored editions of the films on Blu-ray and DVD in October!
The Mask of Dimitrios (1944)
1 July 1944 | 95 min. | B&W
Directed by Jean Negulesco
Written by Frank Gruber
Starring Sydney Greenstreet, Peter Lorre, and Zachary Scott
This was great! I loved Peter Lorre and Sydney Greenstreet together. If you’re looking for a mystery story that flows and escalates well and presents a parade of interesting characters and locales, Dimitrios is for you. It’s also always nice to see Lorre in the lead.
Where to Watch: The DVD is available from the Warner Archive. (So, once again, local library or video store might have copy.)
Strait-Jacket (1964)
19 January 1964 | 93 min. | B&W
Directed by William Castle
Written by Robert Bloch
Starring Diane Baker and Joan Crawford
I mentioned in my Joan Crawford CUTS post that I’d been meaning to see this for years. My enjoyment of the film didn’t suffer a bit from that length of anticipation.
I like William Castle’s movies a lot. I like the campy humor and quirky stories. This one is campy still, but not as heavy on the humor--unless you have a real weird sense of humor. That’s not a strike against Strait-Jacket though. Castle builds so much tension that by the end of the film, you feel like anyone could be axe-murdered at any moment, which becomes absurdly fun. The ending might be a little predictable, but it’s fun to go along for the ride. I didn’t particularly like the tacked on ending but I guess every JC movie needs to end on JC?
Largely unrelated, but if you’re a Castle fan, have you checked out his TV show Ghost Story/Circle of Fear? The first episode, The New House, in particular is top notch.
Where to Watch: It’s on Blu-ray and DVD from Sony (your local library or video store might have a copy) and it’s for rent on Amazon Prime. It’s also still on-demand via TCM for another few days.
One I didn’t write up: Cairo (1942). I brought up in my Jeanette MacDonald post that I was hoping to find a MacDonald film I enjoyed watching on her Summer Under the Stars day and I did!

Korean dramas are commonly smaller than usual arrangement TV dramatizations of 16-24 scenes each. While there are an assortment of classifications of K-dramas, the key ones are romantic melodrama, romantic comedy and historical drama. K-dramas are certainly a key main impetus of the Korean Wave which has cleared the world. There are a considerable measure of Korean culture partners who are pulled in to the Korean culture by the K-dramatizations, and we’re one of them!

1. The Producers
A nervy work environment romantic comedy, The Producers revolves around, relevantly, the producers working in KBS's assortment office, highlighting a group of cameo appearances from stars and a course of offhanded references to showbiz, celebrities, and industry hones. Kim Soo-hyun proceeds with his hot dash of hit activities as the blundering new kid on the block maker who's book-savvy and road dumb, while Cha Tae-hyun is his tainted veteran PD sunbae. Gong Hyo-jin plays a veteran PD whose thorny external shell shrouds a milder inward marshmallow, and IU adjusts the give a role as the haughty Kpop hotshot. Shows are delivered, slip-ups are made, and individuals begin to look all starry eyed at numerous circumstances over.
2. Sensory Couple

Eun Seol, who gets hit by a car in the wake of seeing her parents' murder, experiences memory misfortune. She is stunned to find that she sees odd, drifting hues and shapes, which she later distinguishes as smells. Mu Gak is so torn by the wrongful demise of his sister that he loses rest and gets to be desensitized to all torment. Their lives in the long run impact as they unite to at last catch the "Bar Code" serial killer, who is associated with the murder of their relatives.
3. Pinocchio
At the point when a false media free for all leaves Gi Ha Myeong (Lee Jong Suk) without a family, he is received into the group of a granddad who supposes he is his dead child, Dal Po. Dal Po expect this commonly useful personality. Choi In Ha (Park Shin Hye) and her dad move in with In Ha's granddad after a frightful separation and discover Dal Po living there, however consent to keep the mystery for granddad's purpose. At the point when Dal Po finds In Ha's mom (Jin Kyung) is the columnist who led the assault on his family, he holds a genuine resentment against In Ha, his now successful niece. In any case, as they grow up next to each other, that inclination is relentlessly supplanted by another, one he doesn't set out to vocalize. At the point when In Ha chooses to emulate her mom's example and be a columnist, Dal Po is frightened, not able to confide in any correspondent after his disaster. This ends up being a hard move for In Ha, who is a Pinocchio - someone who hiccups when they lie. With an end goal to bolster her and inevitably discover equity for his family, Dal Po settles on a considerably harder choice, to end up distinctly a correspondent close by In Ha. Before long, they wind up at contending organizations, working on the narrative of the week, as well as together in equity for Dal Po's family and retaliation against In Ha's mom.
4. Kill Me Heal Me
This comedy-melodrama acting cross breed demonstrate highlights Ji Sung as a chaebol agent juggling seven different identities, giving a really epic comedic (and dramatic) performance as the strait-bound prevailing persona tries to hold his wacky modifies under wraps. Actually, things go greatly amiss. Hwang Jung-eum plays the doctor who helps him recuperate the excruciating scars exacted by a traumatic past, and begins to look all starry eyed at him en route. Chaebol plots, control gets, family strife, and amnesia all apply, however the show is particular and the scenes are paced rapidly enough to skirt feeling like Cliche Central. The drama exceeds expectations in depicting the models and passionate complexities of its characters because of outstanding acting from Ji Sung and befitting troupes. Every one of Do Hyun's personalities speaks to an alternate some portion of him: anger, guilt, sadness, and so on that make them unmistakable and significant.
5. Mask
Mask is a melodrama about a lady named Byun Ji Sook (Soo Ae) whose family was profoundly in the red and being undermined by loan sharks. A man named Min Seok Hoon (Yeon Jung Hoon) who is frantic for more riches and influence then arranges a progression of occasions that permits Ji Sook to replace a rich lady named Seo Eun Ha who looks precisely like her. By marrying a rich beneficiary, Choi Min Woo (Joo Ji Hoon), and accepting the character of Seo Eun Ha, Ji Sook is given the chance to help her family. In any case, she is not set up for what Seok Hoon has in store for her.
6. School 2015
Proceeding with the School establishment, this arrangement unfurls when a victim of bullying all of a sudden turns into the It Girl when she's confused for the twin sister she never knew she had. Amnesia gives the reason as she sinks into the new persona, and overnight she picks up companions, a mother, and the love of two young men. In any case, her past begins to get up to speed with her when her previous domineering jerk exchanges to her school, and she needs to recover her character while sorting out the secret encompassing what happened to her twin. Who Are You: School 2015 demonstrates that it merits its prevalence with a remarkable mix of holding puzzle and delightful secondary school sentiment. Also the wonderful acting exhibitions from lead performing artist Kim So Hyun, who plays twin characters Lee Eun Bi and Go Eun Byul, and rookie actress Jo Soo Hyang, who plays fundamental rival Kang So Young. I'm thoroughly inspired with how the youth actresses convincingly channel their character's different personas, making them considerably more life-changing.
7. You’re All Surrounded
Brother time between Lee Seung Gi and Cha Seung Won was typically incredible, yet even the side characters gave me warm fuzzies inside my heart. The chemistry of the focal cast gave this demonstrate a ton of room to conquer drawbacks. As a feature of the cast associations, I additionally appreciated the relationship between Seung Gi's Dae Gu and Go Ara's Soo Sun. The couple was permitted to create actually, and, notwithstanding Dae Gu's initial protestations that Soo Sun was an empty head, they had common regard and fellowship. Not to ruin anything, but rather I additionally cherished how the authors dealt with Dae Gu's love admission. They had a million chances to make him flee out of honorable stupidity, yet they picked to take the more subtle course, and the relationship worked better therefore of that decision.
8. Healer
Healer had a balanced thrown. Rather than concentrating on the primary leads with possibly maybe a couple fun side characters encompassed by one-dimensional filler characters, the world of Healer was full to the overflow with individuals you really wanted to love and think about. I can't pinpoint who my most loved character is. It's plainly Min Ja—until Young Shin's father makes me cry. Alternately small Healer flies up to spare the day. That is to say, my most loved part of the whole show wasn't even a romantic moment—it was that stunning training arrangement amongst Teacher and Healer in the abandoned building. As Healer/Jung Hoo/Bong Soo, he could pass on more feeling with the smallest little jerk of a facial muscle than numerous performers and on-screen characters do with an enormous shouting fit. That, as well as he acted with his whole body rather than simply his face. Maybe that is his theater foundation at work. Obviously, we can't discuss him without his leading lady. I haven't generally had solid emotions whichever way about Park Min Young previously, however I felt that she suited this part well, and the Jung Hoo/Young Shin couple was my most loved sort of OTP—one where I could perceive any reason why they needed to be as one, and I trusted the relationship advancement wholeheartedly.
9. City Hunter
Lee Min Ho plays Lee Yoon Sung, a man raised to render retribution on the administration authorities in charge of his father's death. He is instructed in America and afterward comes back to work in the Blue House where he can penetrate the system to discover the guilty parties. In the process he turns into the City Hunter, an unknown wrongdoing contender. Consider Batman, however without an outfit. He additionally becomes hopelessly enamored with a young lady who he adores yet needs to secure so he pushes her away is in run of the mill superhero design. It's an awesome story of love and revenge and the decision between the two. It had just enough of the immense kdrama adages we generally expect and adore, alongside some new plot turns. I was dazzled all through. Park Min Young is the ideal blend of quality and exquisiteness as Kim Na. The character Kim Na is skilled and dedicated and having a solid feeling of what's good and bad. She is an outstanding courageous woman. That, as well as she doesn't require Lee Yoon Sung to give her a makeover! I'm truly delighted in this leading lady. Prosecutor Kim Yong-joo, played by Lee Joon-hyuk, is the City Hunter's opponent in both wrongdoing battling and love. Like the City Hunter, he will probably reveal defilement and convey malicious government officials to equity, yet dissimilar to the City Hunter, he believes in doing it by the book. He tries to find the character of the City Hunter since he believes he is perilous. He is likewise the romantic adversary of the male lead, as both strive for the consideration of Kim Na. Once again this is like Batman, yet at the same time crisply. I'm truly delighted in this character, as he gave an incredible thwart to the lead and additionally extra gorgeous sight.
10. Gu Family Book
A melodrama epic about the great trouble of Choi Kang Chi, conceived as a half-human-half-mythical creature, who experiences battles with a specific end goal to live more like a human than any other person in spite of not having the capacity to wind up distinctly human. He is the child of Gu Wol Ryung, the guardian of Jiri Mountain, and Yoon Seo Hwa, a normal human. Choi Kang Chi later was raised by adopted family. He grows up as a straightforward character who's brimming with interest and one day, he understands that he's a half-human-half-monster through a specific episode and begins carrying on with his second life. While experiencing the battles, he met Dam Yeo Wool who is an ace of martial arts and archery at young age and afterward, they both go fall in love for each other. The cinematography, sets and areas, the acting from a prevalent gathering cast of a significant number of Korea's finest entertainers, the haunting, poetic and savvy script composing, the excellent outfits, the stunning musical soundtrack, awesome hand to hand fighting, and impeccable course all consolidated to push this convincing show toward the highest point of my top picks' rundown. Regardless of the possibility that you are not customarily pulled in to historical era K-drama, simply try this one out I'm certain you'll be snared. Specifically, the initial two scenes are the absolute most stunning and amazingly sensational and enthusiastic television that I've ever seen in my life, and I cried hysterically at what happened to the characters of the guardians of the lead male character in this show, played by the superb and committed on-screen character Seung Gi Lee.

"Nothing short of a disgrace" - Loads of Spurs fans slam Pochettino for "embarrassing" decision
A man who will forever go down in Tottenham’s history books for his dramatic Champions League hat-trick against Ajax last season, Lucas Moura hasn’t exactly enjoyed the brightest of starts to the current campaign.
The Brazil international has featured six times in the Premier League this season, but has played just 240 minutes in the competition. Against Brighton on Saturday afternoon, the 27-year-old was once again restricted to a place on the Spurs bench, and he only came on with 17 minutes to go.
In the short time he was on the pitch, the speedster registered two shots on target, and completed two of his attempted dribbles.
After seeing the Brazilian’s cameo appearance, Spurs fans flooded to Twitter to voice their fury at the situation surrounding the forward.

Check out some of the reaction of Spurs fans below:
The way Poch has treated Lucas is nothing short of a disgrace and the type of stuff that creates negativity in the dressing room.
— Hamid (@HamidTHFC) 5 October 2019
I am not advocating Poch being replaced, he has done wonders to our playing style and heights he has taken to. However, if someone can explain to me why he is absolved of blame when he leaves Lucas on the bench week in week out, I’d love to hear it. #THFC
— Stuart Luscombe (@realluscombe) 5 October 2019
Ask pochettino what’s his problem with Lucas Moira? Let him start you only gave him 15 mins and he has the same amount of shots on target then spurs at the first half #THFC #COYS https://t.co/RTRlxXMqWV
— توتنهامي (@Tottenham_KW) 5 October 2019
1. Why is Eriksen playing?
2. What is Sissoko at RB?
3. Why is Ndombele getting taken off at HT?
4. Why is Lucas not getting his chance?
5. Why is there no fight from the players?
All questions that I don’t understand & Pochettino needs to answer?#THFC #BHATOT #Pochettino
— Bump (@bump1984) 5 October 2019
Once again, Poch leave it too late to bring on Lucas. It’s getting boring now. #COYS #THFC
— The White Wall (@Glory_THFC) 5 October 2019
Poch Out, didn’t even bring Lucas on til the 75th minute when we haven’t created anything. The man is lost I am out
— Kempzo (@Kempzo_) 5 October 2019
Until I see a 4-3-3 formation and Lucas in the starting line up I’m screaming POCH OUT @SpursOfficial
— TE22 (@TariqElhafidi) 5 October 2019
It’s seriously embarrassing that Poch doesn’t even consider starting Lucas. Guy’s come on and showed more intent in 10 mins than anyone else.
