And here she is again. Surrounded by this fog, with the visions it brings. There's only one this time though. Only one, but..

"LUCIFER! NO!!"

Sera grabbed to the archangel's shoulders, trying to stop him. Despair and a piercing fear gripped her, she felt cold tears running down her cheeks.

"Please don't go there! You.. you don't need to! You just need to hide and wait until they calm down and forget about it! I.. I don't know what they will do to you now and i don't want you to check! I won't be able to protect you from them! Lucifer, please! I beg you, just run! Luci! P-please... Achi-"

She flinched as the archangel put his hand on her shoulder. She couldn't stop sobbing.

"P-please… I don't want- No, I can't be against you, achi. They just don't see the whole truth, it's not your fault, it's-"

"It's okay, Sera. You know.. sometimes we have to make difficult decisions that we don't like, but that are necessary. Just do what you need to do, okay? I don't want them to hurt y-"

"It's not necessary!"

"I was taught that angels must be able to forgive, that they should be merciful! I.. I just have to remind them of this, and you'll be fine!"

Lucifer's eyes widened and his grip on her shoulder tightened.

"NO!"

"Ahem.. haha.. what I mean is.. um.. I actually have a plan! Everything will go smoothly, just don't interfere, no matter what happens! Do what they expect you to do and nothing bad will happen!"

Sera looked at Lucifer feeling uneasy, but slowly wiped her tears and nodded slightly.

"...I trust you."

I was such a fool! I don't want to go there. I know what's going to happen. I don't want to see it again. I don't want to feel it again.

Sera takes her place in the courtroom. And does nothing as she hears the verdict.

"In the name of God, Lucifer Morningstar is sentenced to permanent exile from heaven."

She also does nothing when they give her the floor and ask to give her verdict on the case. Sera already know that her rebellion might interfere with the Luci's plan. So she forced herself to say the right words. The words that the Virtues were expecting to hear.

"I believe that this is a sentence commensurate with the seriousness of the crime against the Lord's will."

"Then so be it."

Was this really an answer worthy of a seraphim? If so, then why does Heaven need such hypocritical creatures? Sera didn't want to play this role, making "hard decisions" and lying for the rest her life. It sicked her to the core and made her feel so disgusted with herself.

Sera heard a loud scream of pain. The bright red light of the portal blinded her eyes.

No. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, NO!

You have a plan, right, Lucie? You wouldn't lie to me. And you would never leave me, achi. Not again. It just can't happen again!

It happened again. Sera wanted to stand up for Lucifer. To save him at least here, in her fantasies, as if that could make a difference. She just couldn't watch him suffering and being punished like this. So she tried to run to him, but her body didn't move an inch. Because Sera from the past did not move. She still believed that Lucifer had a plan. And just watched as the person most dear to her was disappearing forever into the abyss of Hell.

How could you not understand that he doesn't have any plan!? Isn't that clear already?

She watched it happen over and over again.

Please stop watching, just do something!

And again, and again, and again, and again...

I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE! STUPID BODY, MOVE!

And she moved. Just to find herself finally stepping out of the fog. She immediately turned around to go back, desperately willing to try one more time, but stopped as she met Emily's gaze.

She froze for a moment, but then hugged the young seraphim tightly.

"Dear Lord, Emily, are you okay? We.. we did it. We're on the other side now. Do you want to take a little rest before we go further?"

*A young Emily, barely four feet tall, comes running down the hall. It’s early, the sun hasn’t even begun to rise, but this is her day off and Sera had promised that she would have time to spend with Emily*

*Little feet come pattering down against the marble floors of the palace before Emily jumps and turns, landing right in front of the tall ornate doors to Sera’s room*

*Practically buzzing with excitement, her fist pounds against the door* “Sera!!! It’s morning time!!! You have to wake up so we can get the day started!!!”

[Sera walked out of her chambers in her nightgown, rubbing her eyes sleepily. Today she could finally let herself take a day off, so she promised Emily to spend this day with her. Though Sera didn't expect that this day would start so early.]

[She looked at the little seraph and smiled at her.]

Good morning, Emily, I see you're already so excited. I need to change clothes first. Come inside, you can wait for me there.

[She stepped aside to let Emily into her chambers. The lights haven't even been turned on yet, so it's still dark there.]

God this song. I've had it on repeat while drawing this. It's so fucking good! Emily was such a great character too and I feel like her and Charlie could be good friends!

I'm also glad to see Charlie not being a pushover even if she's not in demon form. She was controlled, but she stood her ground!

Since "You Didn't Know" from Hazbin Hotel was released, I can't stop thinking on Aziraphale and Crowley doing a Charlie x Emily moment while singing to Metatron that "If Hell is Forever then Heaven must be a lie" and now I'm living for that mental image.
