That reporter was definitely pushing Dan for a concrete answer on the relationship. Dan would give a vague answer, then he’d ask a more specific question so he couldn’t just repeat his planned answer and would get tired of answering.

IMO this tactic is for investigative stories and pressing politicians who are avoiding important information, not for an interview with an YouTuber going on a tour.

Modern Sketch Reqest: Professor Elrond? :D Idk, he just gives me chill-professor-you-have-lunch-with vibes. Degree in History but teaches English Lit for some unknown reason and nobody in either department can explain.

Elrond I'm not pleased with how he turned out but I'm quite pleased with Celebrian here (❁´◡`❁)

Now! The comic/au idea is Elrond is a professor at a university (higher level, teaching grad or PhD etc), and Celebrian is a senior in grad school who is a Teaching Fellow (or equivalent) and student of the university, who has been assigned to him. He falls in love instantly with her but doesn't say anything about his feelings until she graduates from the uni bc of the moral dilemma of falling in love with a (technically) student of the school (hence the "said nothing of it" theme that they have in canon)

IDK I'm just really in love with this au idea lol anyway expect some more arts for this au (maybe even this weekend if I have the energy) cause i'm obsessed thank you anon for putting the idea of professor Elrond in my head (★ ω ★)

hi, so, there's this headcanon I've had about Gungi for a little while and seeing him in the bad batch trailer prompted me to share it :)

(btw go watch the trailer, it's SO good)

So, do we all remember that arc in tcw where Ahsoka gets captured by the Trandoshians? If not, quick recap. Basically, they capture her during a mission and drop her on this island to hunt her for sport. She meets former Jedi younglings there and they try to escape together. One of their plans is ambushing the drop ship when it comes in to bring more prey. They fail, but the prisoner on the ships just so happens to be a Wookie (Chewbacca, actually, if I remember correctly). Now that's all good and well, but you know what surprised me? Ahsoka spoke Wookie.

I mean I get that Jedi learn different languages in order to understand different species and people around the galaxy but Wookie seems awfully specific for me. We never really see her on a mission on Kashyyyk (unlike Obi-Wan who spoke the Twi'leks language and is regularly seen with Orn Free Ta and on a mission on Ryloth) or interacting with any other Wookies. Except for Gungi.

We see them interacting in the Kyber Crystal arc and it got me thinking.

Supposedly Ahsoka is nearing the end of her Padawan Training and expects to soon become a Knight. Which makes sense if you think about it. When she first became a Padawan Anakin thought she was too young, but Yoda disagreed. Despite her age she was ready to be a Padawan on a skill-based level. Throughout the show we see people saying how she's more skilled than her peers. An early knighthood is just as plausible as her early padawan training. Take the Wrong Jedi arc. by the end (at the age of 17) she was offered knighthood. she turned it down, but that's not my point

Long story short? My headcanon is that Ahsoka was scouting Gungi, hoping to make him her student when she becomes a knight and he a padawan. And I would have LOVED to see it.

Just think about it!

Ahsoka seeing this skilled youngling and immediately learning to speak Wookie so she can give him proper training.

Her watching him extra carefully during his Kyber Crystal Trial (or whatever its called)

eventually it's time for her knighthood and for Gungi to be assigned a Master and she just nags and nags and nags Obi-Wan about bringing it up in a council meeting till he finally concedes but you can't just become a knight and then immediately get a padawan ahsoka

but anakin did, Master, why am I any different? he trained me!

anyway eventually they become master and padawan and suddenly Gungi has ETERNAL bragging rights, because his master is Ahsoka Tano, former student of Anakin Skywalker, part of Yodas goddamn disaster lineage

eventually he grows taller than her, but it takes a while because her montrals also still keep growing so it doesn't count, my young, inexperienced padawan and everytime Ahsoka has to interrogate a perp she is good cop and just talks all nice and calmly to them until they eventually do something incredibly disrespectful, so she calls her student for help in handling this perp. They fully expect a small togruta child to show up and suddenly this massive Wookie is just absolutely TOWERING over them

First time Mission with the rest of disaster lineage + Rex goes absolutely south and there is an endless amount of arguing, meanwhile Rex and Gungi stand off to the side like yeah its always like this kid

Rex thinks there's finally a second reasonable person there but PLOT TWIST, Gungi lives for the drama and is spilling tea with Obi-Wan in 2 days time (he also began learning Wookie as soon as Ahsoka started nagging him)

Even Rex learned the language, but SOMEHOW Anakin just,,, didn't get the memo and never learned it so everytime they're in a room together it's just,,, uh... u good bro

*responds in Wookie, telling him he's having a rough week*

nice to hear trainings going well, pal, keep it up

*stares into the camera like he's on the office*

and somehow they kill palpatine, destroy all the chips and are a disaster family till death doth them part

Rollo really is left with the age-old devices: imagination and hands.

He would be such a fun person to mess with! It doesn't even have to be in a romantic or lewd way. Just really random and friendly silliness. Rollo is always annoyed when the two of you get together to study (whether at a café or at the library or even in either of your dorms) and it ends with the both of you debating the best food in the world, favorite gargoyles at Noble Bell, best things to do during festivals, etc. Somehow he always finds himself getting roped into your nonsense and as a result the work/studying never gets done. Yet oddly enough his mind feels so clear afterwards. It's as if the nonsensical conversations are what he needs to de-stress and take his mind off of other troublesome things.

Or when the two of you somehow end up having too many inside jokes because of how much you tease and joke around with him. It's gotten to the point where his classmates think that your every gesture is some secret code because you and Rollo are so close and friendly (he'll write all of them up if he must so they'll stop gossiping! >:( but secretly he likes it when you playfully wink and poke at him; your presence is just what he needs to relax from the stress of school life).

Or when you do flirt with him and he really thinks something more is going to come of it, but then you'll flick his nose or steal his hat and run off, and he's left to chase after you, all while reprimanding you that disturbing the peace is highly frowned upon at Noble Bell! As the student council president, he won't allow you to cause trouble. Though he claims that, he always lets you off with a light warning. It seems the unshakable Rollo has a soft spot for you. But how could he not when you spend so much of your time with him? He's bound to soften when he gets to know you more.

Rollo will never admit it, but he enjoys chasing after you. When he catches up and scolds you for every childish disruption, he falls even further into love and he doesn't even realize it. You just seem to be good at charming him and he's weak to your upbeat nature. His diary is filled with neat scribbles of the daily occurrences that make him happy, and unsurprisingly your name is detailed in nearly every entry.

The Hawks situation with Twice, at its core, is the Trolley Problem and everyone who says Hawks shouldn't be excused for what he did even though they understand why are the same people that say they wouldn't touch the lever so they're not guilty/responsible of anything.

Hawks could never justify that to himself. He said himself he's willing to get his hands dirty if it puts other people at ease. Hawks will always be willing to shoulder that guilt and take that responsibility. And I can not explain how much I respect him for that.

Shino was a good student and is also considered a good Shinobi in general, but it's because he was essentially Brainwashed to a greater extent than the rest of the Konoha 13, second only to Sai. And that's probably super obvious but Imma talk about it anyway, take a peak if you'd like lol

It's the same reason why Choji was originally one of the worst students and as he got older and more experienced, still wasn't up to speed like some of the others in general, allegedly. Shino and Choji both come from Noble Clans, and by the time they're both 17, have a great amount of skill in their own way. And sure, Asuma as a Sensei was noted to complain a lot about Choji, but I think its at least partly because Choji was not brainwashed by the school to a great enough extent. And his obviously loving parents and fellow Akimichi Clan Members certainly did not try to remedy that either. It doesn't show in his character like it does for Shino and the Aburame. Neji is considered a great Shinobi, even better than Shino by Rank. And he was RIGHTFULLY angry, but dude had such a warped sense of his own worth and existence due to his Dad being put to death because of the Situation, being a literal slave, and then finding out his Dad willingly chose to die instead of fighting for his life??? Neji was considered a Noble but he was treated cruelly and spiritually beaten down by his own family to become the Shinobi he was. School probably just gave him some desperately needed structure.

Like, Shino comes from an obviously powerful clan, yet even so, Shibi as the Head of that clan was powerless to keep Torune from being taken by Danzo. And Shino might have witnessed all of that as a young child, but he likely understood most of what happened very well. So how were Shibi and the rest of the Aburame Clan going to justify such a thing? The only way to explain it to Shino and keep him from looking for Torune and causing trouble along the way would be to make Shino think of Torune's selection and following abduction as a Good Thing. It was an Honor for Danzo to come to the Aburame, and Torune acted like a True Shinobi, a prime example of what it means to be Loyal to and Love the Village. And the fact that Shino was originally the one chosen to go doesn't mean Shino wasn't good enough in the end. This all just has to be kept as secret as possible, and Shino is already a student at the Academy. This is so that Enemy Ninja don't find out so easily. But they all know, and will always know. So Shino should not cry or fret. Shino is just as much Devoted to the Village as Torune, right? Torune wanted to do this, so Shono should not disparage his choices with tears and sadness...

... Framing it as an especially good thing would have to have been the only way to pacify an otherwise complely terrified and hugely upset Shino. And the only way to cope with what happened would be to believe it was a good thing, to believe all that bullshit everyone else told him. And Shino really would. It would always feel bad, and the trauma would still affect him in a variety of ways. The survivor's guilt. The feelings of inadequacy caused by Danzo's choice to reconsider Torune instead, which spared Shino instead of Torune. The new knowledge that some people in the village are so strong that just their words could make Shibi visibly panic. Knowing Danzo could always come back if he wanted to. But still, it's all worth it, because it was a Good Thing. Shino tries to, and really just has to actively deal with all that... at least until he gets older. And starts to use his developed critical thinking skills to question Konoha's inner workings and politics, especially after Naruto's supposed influence. He'd soon realize how fucked up it all really was with a clearer and more human and personal view on things. He might try talking to Shibi about it, but Shibi wouldn't give him the chance. Shibi doesn't want to even think about it. But at that point, Shino could easily piece together what a dilemma it really was for his father. There was no solution, only two bad options his father would have had to live with...

Torune wasn't loyal to the Village. He didn't love the Village. Torune was loyal to Shibi for treating him like a son, and he loved Shino like a little brother. That's why he did what he did...

Like... how is this shit still not properly explored in canon? Why set up such a situation, at the very end, only to ignore it completely anyway!? Why did we get these tidbits so late in the game when Shino was set up to just be a snooty and sometimes quite an unlikable guy in the series?

Izuku (and yourself) are embarrassed. Izuku is like “oh teehee im sorry i murdered myself”. Everyone else is horrified. Everyone else is like “wtf are you okay??? Can i get you a mental icepack???”

Also half the time class A and B are duking it out with full on quirk use and destroying the whole gym so I promise you the embarrassment is minimal
