This company that makes candles with scents inspired by the Disney parks (Magic Candle Company) has been all over my Instagram and Facebook lately (side note: I’m pretty sure I don’t follow them) advertising their new “pirate life” candle and I’m so tired of seeing it in my feed that I’m about ready to break down and buy the dang pirate candle just to stop seeing it everywhere lol

Edit: upon further research it turns out the pirate life candle is not a new scent, it’s just their bestseller and that’s why it’s the one specifically being advertised to me everywhere I go

EA is a triple A gaming company worth billions. But BioWare? It's a subsidiary that is smaller than you think. (EA has about 13k employees, but BW has about 500).

Not pre-ordering or buying on the day of release isn't going to send a message to EA to improve its practices. It's only going to hurt BioWare and their remaining employees. (This isn't aimed at people who can't afford it, or don't like the game(s), or don't like what they've seen so far, or are very skeptical and want to hold off. I'm talking to people who are excited about the game and have the $60 to spare.)

Yes, there are things to criticize about BioWare and EA, I get it, I really do. What happened to Mary Kirby and those like her is awful. Fuck them for that, truly. The merchandise packages that don't include the game, kinda scummy. But if you don't take that as a sign that EA is pushing down, hard, on BioWare, then I don't know what to tell you. Do you think BioWare is somehow immune from EA's scrutiny? BioWare has two big misses in their recent history, after MEA and Anthem, they are on thin ice.

Will the game be buggy on release? Maybe. They do have a history of it. Hell, DAO is still buggy af, but we love it anyway. Will the game be bad? Possibly. There are story elements in each game that still piss me off to this day. It is a gamble, but if you like what you see and are excited, there is no reason not to support the franchise you love. Do you want more Dragon Age games? Do you want more Mass Effect games? If yes, then the best way to get more games is to buy this game.

The only thing that will happen if DATV sales suck, will be for EA to believe that Dragon Age games no longer sell and to nix or hold off on all future projects for it. By waiting for it to be on sale or pirating it, you could very well damn the future of BioWare and the DA franchise. You're not fucking up EA when you choose not to buy DATV, you are screwing BioWare, which is not the same as EA. BioWare can be dissolved, but EA won't. They won't care, EA will happily get rid of something that isn't making them money. EA is not gonna be hurt by DATV doing poorly in sales, they have their sports franchises that will always make them money. It will only hurt BioWare and the remaining developers. Do you like Weekes? Epler? Busche? Support them!

So if you are excited about Dragon Age: The Veilguard and want to see more Dragon Age games, don't let anyone convince you not to buy it, or pre-order it. Don't let anyone make you feel bad for doing so. If you have the money and like what you see, I encourage you to buy it and show support for your favorite franchise.

Finding good spamton enamel pins on etsy was actually really difficult so i LOVE these!! Theyre such high quality!!! He's so cute with his little phone too 😭😭

Parenting 101 by Vanshound - A Review

Parenting 101 is easily the best comic I have picked up in a very long time. It's in the small details but the artwork and general flow sucked me in right away. The composition of frames and the overlying story work in perfect harmony and if someone asked me to pick a favorite moment I would probably melt into a little pile, unable to do so. I was gifted (by Irish ofc) Parenting 101, Scorched Earth and the Butchlander bookmark from Vanshound's collection. Vans has posted about their architecture work and it's very visible in this book, especially in regards to cleanliness and stunning backgrounds. The way pages shift from dark to light also aids the general quality but- I would be lying if I tried calling this book anything but perfect. Admittedly as a supe!Butcher fan, I loved this timeline. Picking up from the end of season 3 we get to see our two favorite co-parents somehow stumble upon their truce thanks to Ryan. The conflict was kept in line with the show and left me wondering at times if I was confusing 'Parenting 101' with the canon show. TL;DR: If you are a butchlander fan, Homelander fan, Billy Butcher fan or a general enjoyer of art that is so perfect you'll want to stare at it for hours on end, please consider supporting this absolute masterpiece. BUY IT HERE

For those who don't follow my shenanigans on twt, I watched all of Dungeon Meshi season one! (And posted silly live tweets along side it)

The series has fucking blown me away and it has easily secured a spot as one of my absolute favorites of all time, at least top 3 for sure.

I cannot recommend it more. It's genuinely a delight, the world building and characters are a masterpiece in writing.

Just watch it, if you haven't, which you probably have already, cause I'm late to everything. Watch it.

btw i beat Another Crab's Treasure tonight*, and got the few remaining achievements i was missing (mostly just buying shells and activating Gun(TM), but apparently i had missed an optional boss in the grove too)

it's extremely good. it's a game about growing up in a world where nothing is fair, and the desperate struggle and rage that builds from that. maybe you can't fix the big stuff, but it's still worth helping where you can, rather than closing yourself off from the world. sometimes things don't work out, and people get hurt, but even at your most hopeless you need to keep pushing.

that's contrasted by the tone, which is usually tongue-in-cheek and/or straight up goofy, even in easy to miss background details. (some personal favorites: the CND Pharmacy receipt walkways with the subheading "CNDeez nuts gottem", the Gain dish soap parody called Loss with the decorative leaf graphics on it forming loss.jpg, and how Elden Bay seasoning has 62% daily value for sodium for only 1/4 tsp servings)

it's also arguably the best entry-level soulslike out there. i've only played 2 others, but ACT was far easier, and that was at the default hard difficulty. i didn't really mess with them outside of the gun achievement, but there's an entire section in the settings menu dedicated to fine tuning the difficulty down into whatever you need. or, again, you can take a gun that 1-shots everything, including the final boss' phases. it's funny EVERY time and the feature should be in more games.

also, Kril is just damn cute, and you can put an LGBT+ flag on him. 11/10 game.

REVIEW

quality- its so cozy, its a thick hoodie perfect for winter or lounging in your house, its got a soft inner lining and the yellow bit on the sleeves is in a different fabric that also has a nice soft smooth texture

Look- it comes in a bit of a dark gray than black, its closer to gray. Its not 100% game color accurate but its so comfy that it makes up for it

Size- I ordered an XL because i wanted a really big hoodie, i am normally a medium for a perfect fit and it fits on me like other XL hoodies i own so i would assume true to size

Notes- the pockets are a bit small but that doesn't particularly bother me that much, there is another cheaper listing for a hoodie similar (ill link it at the bottom) however i was more inclined to buy this one because the sleeves are open big at the ends just like in his sprites.

It also came with a t-shirt! It fits the same true to size way as the hoodie and is light but not see through, very soft and comfortable

Complaints- very few, the inside of the t-shirt had a few loose strands of string in the sleeves, a tooth on the zipper of the hoodie near the top had broken off (no biggie it still zips) and the inside of the hoodie you can sill see some stitches and the pocket isn't fully attached to the side of the hoodie( i assume this wont be a problem in the future anyway just noting it down for you guys)

The hoodie strings feel like shoelaces

Shipping- it shipped fast! It came in a bag and the hoodie and t shirt where in individual plastic bags
