Every morning at 7:00 you would meet shinso outside your dorm to head to school "Hey Hitoshi how ya doin this mornin" you asked sideling up to the boy who you had gotten to know quite well through your walks too and from school, and your time in class, and lunch, and training after school, you were never really away from each other actually. He took comfort in the time you spent together and you enjoyed talking to him and being his friend. It was pretty understandable why he didn't want to be friends, to begin with, but there was no way in hell you were letting the boy go through 3 years of school without any friends! So you made it your own personal mission to change his mind about you, and you were pretty chuffed when he actually stopped pushing you away yep this boat was firmly tied to the dock now. "I'm fine just tired" he was always tired.

The gleaming white windows of your school came into view lighting up the area around it like a child shining a magnifying glass on a bunch of tiny ants swarming to their colony. You nudged his side with your elbow getting his attention "SO I heard someone is getting transferred into the hero course next year!" you were so proud of him! This was his dream come true and he was finally getting his big opportunity "yeah it's pretty crazy" it was true he was more than thrilled to be joining the hero course but he felt like he was betraying you in some way, you should be in there with him! You were just as powerful if not more than he was. It didn't feel right leaving you "I can't believe it Hitoshi! I'm so happy for you, we should go get ice cream later to celebrate!" you walked through the door together weaving through the other people dotted around the corridor to reach your own classroom tucked away at the end . the thought hadn't even crossed your mind about how lonely you would be without Hitoshi, and it was coming up for the end of the year, you would have to cherish your time more than ever. "Ice cream sounds nice."

Th day went on rather uneventfully, thankfully it was lunch now so food was on the top of your mind "what should I get today?" you asked your lavender friend, you were determined to have everything on the menu at least once before you left school, you had quite a few options to go "what about a cappuccino and the udon?" it was pretty lucky he was keeping track of what you had and hadn't got yet otherwise you would never get close to finishing the challenge "you just want my cappuccino huh" you stepped up to the counter and ordered your food and drink which was ready in a flash thanks to lunch rush (give the dude some credit he does lunch for that entire school every day!) "maybe" he gave a lopsided grin and you rolled your eyes.

you both set off for a table near the back where you usually sat when a green-haired boy waving his arm caught your eye "hey Hitoshi is that one of your new classmates" you questioned gesturing to the freckled boy who was frantically trying to get his attention "oh yeah that's midoriya" he brushed off the topic and continued off to your table "hey wait you should go sit with them!" you called after the boy who groaned and span round his purple locks dangled in front of his eyes blocking his view fully but he could tell you weren't gonna let him leave. "but... why?" "because they're your classmates silly come on" you pulled him over to the table much to his dismay "h-hey shinso do you want to sit with us?" midoriya asked and everyone else at the table eyed him up like a flock of vultures inspecting there pray "can (y/n) sit too?" wait no what you weren't in that class why would you sit there? That was like... the top dog table right? "Of course!" oh well oh kay then guess you were one with the big leagues now. "Hi it's nice to meet you, I'm ururaka" she introduced herself with a big grin, you noticed she was holding her juice with 4 fingers and had pink pads in the middle of her fingertips "I'm (l/n) nice to meet you too" you sat down next to Hitoshi excited to make some new friends, maybe if you liked them he would like them more.

"So you and shinso are really good friends huh?" you nodded as you took a sip of your cappuccino and ultimately decided it was one of the less amazing things on the menu "yeah he's like my best friend and I'm pretty much his emotional support dog" you giggled and handed off the warm, bitter drink to him which he was more than happy to take off your hands "in all honesty she should be the one joining your class, daughter of the number 2 hero couldn't cut the hero programme" he teased and everyone else gasped "YOUR DAD IS HAWKS!" yep it was true you were the daughter of the number 2 hero hawks and someone else?? Mum didn't stick around long, your quirk was a little HOT TO HANDLE (roll with it) "what's your quirk! Can you show us!" midoriya begged from across the table which Hitoshi was not happy about he didn't like it when people gave you more attention than he did "um no I definitely cannot show you! But I can tell you what it iss" you sang and the boy grabbed a pencil and notepad out his bag "uh it's called Pheonix I have retractable wings... made of blue fire... and I can fly and shoot the feathers and I have the feather blades like dad and all that jazz" "she also has the same dumb personality" Hitoshi added and you gasped looking at him hurt "don't talk about my dad like that he loves you" he did actually like Hitoshi a surprising amount and you were pretty convinced he shipped you like a 15-year-old girl watching 2 boys in an anime about superheroes (-_-)

"But if your dad is the number 2 hero how come you aren't in the hero course" ouch. You gripped your chopsticks harshly "some bitch thought it would be funny to knock me out during the entrance exam and it was too late to get me in by recommendation" the chopsticks snapped splintering off into a bunch of smaller pieces. The lively nature of the cafe suddenly turned to one of concern when 2 mini puffs of thick smoke filtered out from the back of your blazer blanketing the roof and the smell of burning fabric infiltrated your noses "your burning" Hitoshi said from beside you "OH sorry sorry I didn't notice" you said and started to calm yourself down by stealing Hitoshi's lemonade "you must be upset about having to be in different classes after the new year" the boy with the bird head said. Well yeah but he wouldn't be leaving you completely, you opened your mouth to speak but before you could start Hitoshi started "I don't intend on letting her go half a year alone in that class, either she moves up or I go back down" he grit his teeth at the thought of you being alone in that class by yourself, and if it meant he had to give up his dream of being in the hero course he would. You smiled and then sighed when you realised you couldn't finish your udon since your chopsticks had transformed into toothpicks.

Ah yes, finally the end of the day. You and Hitoshi walked out of the nicely air-conditioned school into the dry blistering heat of the outside world "oh god whyyy" you cried and shook your fist at the sun then immediately regretted it as a bunch of white spots danced around in your eyes (FUN FACT THOSE ARE CALLED PHOSPHENES. Y'know, like phosphor) "so ice cream" you stumbled around trying to your friends and jumped when he put his hands on the back of your shoulders "just keep walking dummy" he said and you did so until you gained your sight back. "It's such a hot day this is evil" you crossed your arms angrily as you made your way to your house since you had decided to get changed before you got ice cream so that the sweltering heat didn't melt you both to a puddle of sweat and ew (THAT'S WHAT I'M GOING WITH OKAY).

"HEY DAD ARE YOU HOME?" you shouted into the house and a little red feather shot down to where you were standing "I'LL TAKE THAT AS A YES THEN" you and shinso wandered up to your room dumping your bags with an audible thud "crop top and jeans?" you asked holding up your clothes and showing them off to Hitoshi "sure why not," he said and pulled out the bag of clothes in the bottom of your wardrobe that you kept there for him. "Vest and shorts?" he held up the clothes and you nodded and he descended down the hall to the bathroom waving to your dad as he went past. It was such a perfect day, it was too good to be overthinking little things like clothes or how lonely you would be without Hitoshi or what he meant when he said when he wasn't leaving you behind or how he really felt about you or- "how's my chicklet?" (hawk's most defining personality trait is that he likes chicken don't @me) your dad asked ruffling your hair "it is too hot to exist right now but Hitoshi and I are gonna get ice cream" you grinned and cracked open your window hoping a breeze would come through and cool you down a smidge. "Like a date?" "No dad it's not a date" "finneee have fun" he pouted and left you alone to get changed.

"Hey, Hitoshi what ice cream do you want?" you asked looking over the menu on the side of the truck that was parked in the park... "it's a vanilla day I think," you stepped up to the counter ordering your ice creams both with a flake obviously and sat on a cool metal bench which was hidden by the big weeping willow tree, it was your favourite spot in the whole park because it was always shady and the big tree made you feel like little kids again, you were so small in comparison and when the wind picked up the branches whipped around like a carousel and tangled together like a curtain to hide behind.

"hey you'll be okay in the class by yourself for a while right?" he asked and took a pit off his ice cream "I'll have to be won't I. I'm really proud of you you know that" you stole the flake that he was about to bite into and took a bite out of it letting the chocolate bit's fall off and land on your crop top melting almost instantly "I know. But I promise I'm gonna get you up there with me. You won the sports festival I don't know why they're taking me" (ROLL WITH IT) he stole your flake in retaliation and started eating his ice cream "because you deserve it stop doubting yourself" you preached. You listened to the cars drive by and the angry drivers honking at each other, in all fairness there were indicators for a reason. The bustling life of the city drowned out by the calm bubble surrounding the 2 of you "well you deserve it too (y/n)" he argued and you both burst into a fit of laughter knowing that it was almost impossible to be mad at each other and this wasn't even close to a reason.

"Hey I need to tell you something" he whispered taking a bite out of the sugary cone "oooh~ are you going to profess your undying love for me" you giggled not knowing what you were getting into in the next few minutes "yes... I am" ".....WHAT!" WELL, THIS TOOK A TURN "I like you. Like in a girlfriend type of way" he sighed when a big flake of his cone cracked and fell into the dirt under him "oh. This is unexpected" you whispered taking a bite out of your own cone getting crumbs down your top "if you don't feel the same it's okay I just wanted you to know" he pursed his lips and drew little circles in the dry dirt "no I do, I do feel the same I guess I just didn't realise I felt the same... does that make sense?" it probably didn't.

Of course, you felt the same, he had been your best friend for a while now so obviously you caught some feelings but you had never given them a title like, a crush or love or anything like that, they were just there. They would either go away or they wouldn't and now you were here. You were glad they hadn't "yeah it does" he smiled and the wind picked up a bit lacing the branches together to create th perfect veil as he leaned down and kissed you softly, it was nice and filled with love and admiration and your face turned soft pink and matched the heat of the sun beating down right now.

It didn't last long unfortunately as 2 pillars of smoke started coming out of your shirt and burning fabric once again took over your senses "NO NO NO NOT NOW COME ON" you shouted feeling the fabric separating on your back and you held the front of your crop top on your front "okay well we're gonna not do that for now" Hitoshi said calmy and you shot him a panicked glance gesturing to your unfortunate situation with your other hand. The back of your top fell off and you arched your back when it came into contact with the cold rugged bark of the willow tree "OKAY WELL NOT WALKING HOME LIKE THAT" he shouted and took off his vest throwing it to you and turning away.

You put it on quickly after you calmed down a bit and you weren't burning anything. "Okay you can turn around," you instructed focusing only on the branches in front of you "what not gonna look at me?" "nope" "why not?" you cleared your throat and clicked your tongue "because if I do this shirt will just burn off too and then we'll have to phone dad and get him to bring me a shirt and then he'll ask how I managed to burn two of my shirts off and then I have to listen to him go on and on like a 15-year-old girl about how he totally called that we would get together and then-" "alright I get it," he said putting his hand over your mouth 'well you just set yourself up for failure' you thought and licked his hand which he pulled back and wiped on your jeans "your gross" he chuckled and stood up wiping the dirt off his jeans and standing directly in your eye line putting his hand out to help you up. Which you didn't accept since you were rather busy ogling those goddamn washboard abs "well your not burning yet but you might be brain dead" he flicked your forehead and you shook your head slightly accepting his help up.

You started to walk home as the bright blue sky turned to a medley of tangerine and lavenders with pink brush strokes in between. "We should get ice cream more often," he said his honeyed voice cutting the silence held between you "I agree, we train so much we deserve it!" you exclaimed "you just wanna see me shirtless" he teased. It took every ounce of willpower you had to not burn the shirt off by accident but thankfully you didn't "pfft no. I want ice cream the shirtless thing doesn't have to be exclusively an ice cream thing" you pointed out nudging his shoulder with yours as your house got closer and he rolled his eyes wrapping his arm around your waist pulling you next to him like 2 magnets sticking to each other.

"Well I'll see you tomorrow Hitoshi," you said once you reached your door "yeah see you tomorrow," he said pecking your cheek and walking off down the road leaving you astonished at your door. "DAD YOUR NOT GONNA BELIEVE THIS" you screamed as you entered the house.

4 weeks later

"We have another student joining the hero course" the grumpy teacher announced and you bust into the 1-A classroom with your wings outstretched behind you "PUT THE GREMLIN BACK" shinso shouted from the back of the classroom "GO BACK UNDER THE BRIDGE YOU CAME FROM" you shouted back and took your seat next to him "dad wants to know if you're staying for dinner after training" you whispered, "yeah what are we having?" "chicken"

Warnings: spoilers for season 4!

Genre: random, you have alot of fluff but also mentions of angst!

Prespective: 2nd person! Reader is gender-neutral.

A ctivities - What do they like to do with their s/o? How do they spend their free time with them?

I think Mirio would be up for alot of adventures. He'd turn up at your door and take you out to explore the city, share a plate of ramen and attend a fair. But if you are not up to it, he wouldn't mind, infact he has a backup plan. He wouldn't mind swaddling you in blankets, and cuddling while watching something together in your dorm rooms.

B eauty - What do they admire about their s/o? What do they think is beautiful about them?

Mirio loves you as a whole and he thinks you're stunning, inside and out. He makes sure he loves every part of you equally, but it's pretty obvious he favours your hair the most. If you have long hair, he'd ask you if he could braid it or style it. He would try a few hairstyles he originally learned for Eri. But if your hair is short, he would run his hand through it, untangle it, and brush it for you.

C omfort - How would they help their s/o when they feel down/have a panic attack etc.?

Mirio always strives to make you laugh when you feel down, and he never failed to. If you were to have a panic attack though, his attitude changes. He makes sure he gives you the space you need, bring you a glass of water. If you allow him, he would pick you up and put you on his lap to hug you and whisper sweet, comforting words into your ear. Though, if he is the one feeling down, it will be hard for you to comfort him, mainly because he would rather act happy than trouble you with his worries and sadness. But when you assure him that he could be open with you, that he won't trouble you at all, he would tell you all about it. It doesn't take much to comfort him after he lets it all out, all you have to do is hold him in your embrace until he tells you he feels better.

D reams - How do they picture their future with their s/o?

Before the events with Eri's rescue, you've shared a dream of working together in a team side by side, you even considered opening a hero agency together. Mirio and you were absolutely inlove, sure, but you both did not want to get married as soon as you graduated, but that changed after Eri's rescue. After Mirio lost Nighteye and his quirk, everything shifted. He said that though he's quirkless, you could still open that agency together. One thing that was for sure though, proposing is definitely coming earlier than both of you had planned.

E qual - Are they the dominant one in the relationship, or rather passive?

Oh, this wonderful, big teddy bear definitely switches between both. He likes to lead you, show you places you've never been to, choose things for you, but he will also be passive. He does NOT want to be too controlling or too bossy, because he really doesn't mind if you lead or if he leads. As long as you're together, then that is enough for him.

F ight - Would they be easy to forgive their s/o? How are they fighting?

Fighting is a rare, since he does not get angry alot and he knows that arguing really doesn't do any good, it's usually normal couple bickers and that's all. Though, an argument arised when Mirio refused to tell you what happened when they were rescuing Eri. Words went back and forth, and it was the first time Mirio has ever gotten so frustrated with you. Both of you went to your respective dorm rooms, but later that night, you met in the hallway, and started blurting apologies at each other. You spent the rest of the night cuddling, with Mirio telling you all about it.

Mirio hates it when you cry, he would start crying if you do, and it's a natural reaction for him because he realised that he hurt you and nothing makes him feel more awful.

If you ask him to stay away for a while, he would do one of two things. Go get your favourite snacks from the store beside the school, and rent a movie, or sit outside -doing nothing to entertain himself- until you tell him you're ready to talk.

G ratitude - How grateful are they in general? Are they aware of what their s/o is doing for them?

He is a very grateful boy and he doesn't let an opportunity pass without telling you or showing you how grateful he is to have you. He always reminds you of how much you mean to him, how much he loves you and how much he appreciates the wonders you do to him. He thanks you, rather often, for sticking with him, through everything he's been through.

H onesty - Do they have secrets they hide from their s/o? Or do they share everything?

He shares everything except when something is troubling him. As mentioned before he does not like troubling you with his worries and fears, he feels like you really don't need to have this negative energy around you, but you eventually get him to talk. A secret he really did not want to tell you, but eventually did, was the events of what happened in the Eri rescue mision.

I nspiration - Did their s/o change them somehow, or the other way around? Like trying out new things or helped them overcome personal problems?

You helped him alot with getting over his fear of opening up. He likes to think he wears his heart on his sleeve and is very open with his feelings but he does hide stuff from you to avoid 'bothering' you, though he learned that it is fine to let go of the 'always dandy and fine' act once in a while.

And being with mirio changed you too. The positive energy he brought into your life surely did change your perspective on some topics.

J ealousy - Do they get jealous easily? How do they deal with it?

Not really, he does not feel threatened by anyone, he trusts you, and he knows you can handel yourself well. So why get jealous? Though, sometimes when he feels someone is invading your space or making you feel uncomfortable with their advances he would pop up right beside you and make sure they know that their advances are unwelcome and unappreciated.

After losing his quirk though, his insecurities increased and he became alot more unimmune to to jealousy. He feels as though he cannot protect you any more, and that anyone could take you away from him. If someone makes him jealous, it becomes very obvious to you. He would usually stay very queit, or grip your hand very tightly. You always end up comforting him after.

K iss - Are they a good kisser? What was the first kiss like?

Slightly awkward, also very adorable. That's how you would describe your first kiss. You were going up to him to thank him for helping you move your boxes into your dorm room, by giving him a kiss on the cheek. But as soon as you leaned in, Mirio turned his face around and you accidently kissed his lips. He was taken back first, and so were you, but neither of you moved. He ended up kissing you back, but since he didn't have alot of experience, it was pretty average. Though he got much much better after you started dating.

L ove Confession - How would they confess to their s/o?

Mirio spent 5 days practicing infront of a mirror how he will confess to you. He wanted it to be perfect, something out of a romantic movie, but it didn't go as planned. That kissing incident happened and after you pulled away, he started spewing out whatever he could remember from his practiced confession. It came out as gibberish, but you somehow understood every word he meant.

M arriage - Do they want to get married? How do they propose? What would the marriage be like?

Yes. He really wants to get married. He planned the proposal all in his head. He will take you out to the spot you first met (which was the bench outside of UA's gates) and propose to you there after taking you out for dinner. He pictures the wedding to be by the beach, with all of your friends invited.

N icknames - What do they call their s/o?

Sunshine, and honeybee are definitely in his dictionary.

O n Cloud Nine - What are they like when they are in love? Is it obvious for others? How do they express their feelings?

It was very very obvious when Mirio fell in love with you. Just his stares were enough to make everyone know about his feelings. He would become incredibly flustered when you are close, his cheeks go red and he starts fiddling with his fingers, but he tries very hard to be himself and keep his composure.

After he asked you to be his, there are more ways that he started expressing his feelings. Holding your hand under the desk in science class, giving you a goodluck kiss before any exam, intertwining pinkies. One thing that did not change though is the daze he slips in when you're around.

P DA - Are they upfront about their relationship? Do they brag with their s/o in front of others? Or are they rather shy to kiss etc. when others are watching?

Yes. He is very much a proud boy when you're around. He always makes sure everyone knows that you are his s/o. He always holds your hands in public, kisses your forehead and hold you by the waist. He also really likes to nuzzle you and kiss your cheek.

Q uirk - Some random ability they have that’s beneficial in a relationship.

Aside from his quirk, Mirio is a really good fighter. He always shields you with his body whenever you're in danger. And if someone is bothering you he isn't afraid of getting into a fight.

R omance - How romantic are they? What would they do to make their s/o happy? Cliché or rather creative?

Very. He pays attention to everything you say and it really comes in handy when he's deciding what places you should go or if hes picking a gift for you. Mirio is a thin line between cliche and creative. He loves doing things by the book but sometimes doing the opposite and being creative gives a thrill to your realtionship.

S upport - Are they helping their s/o achieve their goals? Do they believe in them?

He's very supportive. If you have a test coming up he would help you study if you want him to. He would make sure you have a queit environment and bring you snacks and tell you to take care of yourself too. He was very thrilled when you told him you want to open an agency. He completely supports your dreams and wouldn't mind if you had to travel around and have a long- distance realtionship, because nothing makes him happier than knowing you're off achieving what you always wanted.

T hrill - Do they need to try out new things to spice out your relationship? Or do they prefer a certain routine?

Sometimes routine is good, that's what Mirio always says. On some days, he just loves to hang out with you in your home, just relaxing and ordering take out. But on other days, he likes spicing it up. He would search up some new things to try. Wither it be places to go, couple games, or something else entirely.

U nderstanding - How good do they know their partner? Are they empathetic?

Mirio would need a little time to understand and know his partner. The reason for that is because he wants to make sure he knows enough about you before he asks you to be his significant other so he won't make you uncomfortable. Hes very empathetic, makes sure you feel understood and comfortable enough to talk to him about anything.

V alue - How important is the relationship to them? What is it’s worth in comparison to other things in their life?

Its important, but mirio seems to be very self sacrificial. While fighting, I think he loses himself to the point where protecting people and saving lives is more of a priority than his realtionship. He does not think what you will do if something happened to him. Did you ever talk about this with him? Yes. But he did not change his way of thinking until he lost his quirk.

W ild Card - A random Fluff Headcanon.

Mirio has a locket with one of his favourite photos of both of you together. He always carries it with him, says it brings him good luck.

X OXO - Are they very affectionate? Do they love to kiss and cuddle?

He loves, loves, LOVES to cuddle. Expect him to pick you up and put you on his lap or pull you onto the couch at any given moment. He loves to pepper your face with kisses and hold your hand.

Y earning - How will they cope when they’re missing their partner?

Mirio tries his best to stay the same. Happy-go lucky and excited, but he can't help being a little down when you're not around. He is less energetic and sometimes he loses focus. He always, always makes sure to call you every day to text you until you return home.

Z eal - Are they willing to go to great lenghts for the relationship? If so, what kind of?

He is. He is ready to lose his quirk over and over again for you to stay safe. He will sacrifice everything if has to for you to stay alive, happy and well. Even if it means you don't get to be together.

Incidentally, Julius and Lisa basically spend ALL their time together, since they work and live together in the same place. But when they’re able to take a breather, they enjoy cuddling somewhere, reading a book, or going on a walk somewhere outside the noble realm. It’s nice to get fresh air and it gives Julius a chance to track down any cool magic.

B eauty - What do they admire about each other? What do they think is beautiful about them?

Lisa would say that she admires Julius’s confidence and positivity. He’s a very optimistic person and she needed someone like that to rub off on her. She finds his eyes to be very beautiful, as well as his lips...

Julius would say he admires EVERTHING about Lisa, but more than anything her tenacity and determination. She’s worked harder than anyone else in the kingdom despite being beaten down again and again. He would also say that her entire being is the most beautiful... but above all her eyes. And legs. ;)

C omfort - How would they help each other when they feel down/have a panic attack etc.?

Julius is usually the one who has to comfort Lisa. For a man who’s good with words, he knows that they don’t work in those low moments, and instead makes sure to hold her tight, a silent gesture to tell her that everything is going to be alright. 

But even though he’s strong, the pressure of his job sometimes gets to Julius. Wordlessly, he’ll bury himself in Lisa’s chest, and she strokes his hair and whispers things in his ear to help him calm down. You’re doing your best. You’ve done nothing but wonderful things for everyone. And for me, too. You’re good enough.

D reams - How do they picture their future with each other?

Absolutely, for both of them. Julius has wanted to marry Lisa since almost day one jafkdsl but he took it slow of course. Lisa is always a little scared to dream about the future but it fills her with joy. Marriage might not be at the forefront of her mind, since she would just be happy to be by his side for the rest of their lives. And of course... they both wanted to adopt children eventually and have a big family.

E qual - Which is the dominant one in the relationship?

Funny enough, Lisa is probably the more dominant one in the relationship (outside the bedroom but I won’t get into that lol). From the start, Julius has always been very careful about the power dynamic between them, since he’s the WK and all, and his solution was to let Lisa kind of take the lead in a lot of things, relationship-wise.

F ight - Would they be easy to forgive their each other? How are they fighting?

They really don’t fight all that much? If Lisa gets upset Julius can usually tell right away. If Julius gets upset, he’s quick to say something about it. But if it’s a rare, bad fight, Lisa usually retreats into silence until Julius comes to apologize. But like I said, they are fairly harmonious and even the fallouts of the “worst” fights only last an hour or so.

G ratitude - How grateful are they in general? 

Lisa is beyond grateful. She’d probably be dead if it wasn’t for Julius, and his presence in her life has changed it completely. As for Julius, meeting Lisa brought new meaning into his life that he didn’t before, and he was able to imagine a future for himself that wasn’t lonely and dedicated solely to his work.

H onesty - Do they have secrets they hide from each other? Or do they share everything?

Lol it is VERY hard to hide secrets between them, so they usually tell each other everything. However, there’s a few notable exceptions to this, including when Julius managed to hide the fact that he met a future version of Lisa during the elf arc. He did tell her eventually.

I nspiration - Did they change each other somehow, or the other way around? Like trying out new things or helped them overcome personal problems?

Yeah! For Lisa, Julius was the one who finally convinced her to leave her old life behind and become a magic knight. And later, he inspires to her want to become the Wizard King one day, returning long-lost ambition.

For Julius, it’s the other way around. He was ambitious when he was young, and sprinted to the top as fast as he could. He had resigned himself to a life committed solely to his job, but when he met Lisa, all that changed. Not only did she give him a more human reason to protect the kingdom, but she opened up a new future to him that he never thought he would be able to pursue... he finally found something he could love more than the kingdom itself.

J ealousy - Do they get jealous easily? How do they deal with it?

Both of them have many admirers but they’re both comfortable enough to know that nothing unfaithful would ever happen. However, Julius does NOT trust other men around Lisa ajksl and is not afraid to flaunt his status proudly if he feels like someone is trying to get friendly with her. 

K iss - Which one is the better kisser? What was the first kiss like?

At first it was definitely Julius. Lisa’s only kiss before him was quick and drunk, but luckily she was now in the hands of a master ;) Their first kiss was shared after Lisa was badly injured trying to stop an assassination attempt and their feelings were finally spoken. Over time, Lisa definitely grew to match Julius’s kisses :)

L ove Confession - How did they confess to each other?

At the same moment as their first kiss! Lisa realized that the reason she fought so hard was because she couldn’t bear the thought of Julius not being in her life, and Julius realized that Lisa meant more than the world to him. Holding her limp and almost dead in his arms was what hammered that point home for him. In the hospital later, he came to visit and they both ended up all over each other, and never wanted to let go again. :)

M arriage - Do they want to get married? How do they propose? What would the marriage be like?

Like I said before, YES! It wasn’t on Lisa’s mind until Julius brought it up, but she really wanted to. They were talking to each other about having kids, and Julius mentioned that, if they did, he would be expected to be married to the mother of his children. But he promised that he would do a better proposal later! Which he did... When Lisa came back from the Sea Temple mission, Julius took her up on the roof before pulling out a gorgeous ring, and asked her to “be my queen.”

As for a wedding, sadly they never got to have an official one. However, they eloped before the Royal Knights exam and sealed the deal. However, now that Lisa lives in a timeline where Julius is very much alive and well, they are still planning a large ceremonial wedding for sometime in the next year.

N icknames - What do they call their s/o?

Lisa usually sticks to simple things like “darling” or sometimes “Juli~” because it sounds cute. Julius bounces between many pet names, his favorite being “sweetness” <3

O n Cloud Nine - What are they like when they are in love? Is it obvious for others? How do they express their feelings?

Before they confessed, both of them kept their card close to their chest. Lisa was slightly worse at this. Images of Julius were constantly dancing in her mind and she would often get distracted lol. When she was around Julius, just a mere touch or an intense look made her blush furiously. It was pretty easy for Julius to tell that something was going on with her.

As for Julius, like I said, at first he was able to stay calm, but rest assured he was freaking out all the time on the inside. But in private, he too got distracted easily and would smile to himself “creepily” (in Marx’s words). It was very hard for him to get any work done.

Once everything was out in the open, Julius was not afraid to show his feelings at the drop of the hat. Lisa still got very flustered about it but was very happy to know that she was loved.

Sadly, the two of them could not be upfront about the relationship for a long time. Lisa got into trouble last time someone found out about it, so they keep to themselves. But within the castle, Julius is very loving and doesn’t mind PDA at all. Lisa still is a little worried that someone from the press is going to find out, but is usually very eager to receive whatever he gives her.

Oh boy. As soon as Julius got a girlfriend it was clear that he was the epitome of the romantic type. He can be creative AND cliche, and both are just as sweet. Flowers, fancy dinners, romantic escapes to the countryside, he would do all of it at the drop of a hat for Lisa.

Neither of them are very happy when they’re apart. Lisa deals with it a lot better, since she’s usually out training when she rarely leaves him. Julius is a lot more clingy and can’t focus as well when she’s gone. The nights are long and lonely for him, and he finds it very hard to sleep alone now.

I’ve been working on developing OSX/Mac and Windows versions of SdrDx. At this time, SdrDx for OS X and Windows supports Ethernet-connected version of AFEDRI SDRs, the USB-connected Airspy (AirSpy HF+ under OS X only, via this OS X server), Ethernet-based Andrus MK1.5, USB FunCube Pro, USB FunCube Pro Plus, Peaberry, Ethernet based RFSPACE SDrs, USB RTL sticks (RTL supported under OS X only, via this OS X server) and Softrock SDR receivers. Both the Peaberry and Softrock SDRs require a lot of expertise to get working. The others are pretty much plug-and-play.

You can have real knobs and buttons

AirSpy HF+, RTL, SDR-IQ and SDR-14 users: You can download the executable application(s) appropriate to your OS (OS X or Windows) and the networking server for your OS (if you have an AirSpy HF+, SDR-IQ or SDR-14 and don’t already have a server) below. Remember, you must have a network server application installed to support these USB-based SDRs. Server applications for both OS X and Windows platforms for the SDR-IQ and SDR-14 are available in the list of downloads below; so far, the only available servers for the AirSpy HF+ and RTL sticks run under OS X. Other supported SDR types do not require a server application.

Please consider the following makers of SDRs ahead of any others. These manufacturers have gone the extra mile to see that SDR software developers such as myself are provided with working SDR samples, technical support and interfacing data:

For Developers (and those who would encourage developers)

In order that SdrDx is able to support additional USB-based SDRs, a protocol-compatible server must be written by the SDR vendor or a third party. You can use this fully functional RTL USB-to-network server as a starting point — it does everything you need to do to talk to SdrDx. SdrDx will work with any SDR or SDR network server that acts like the sample server software; if you need to extend the network methods, for instance to control features unique to your SDR, let me know and I will do my best to support those extensions. However, note that I require that the actual SDR be provided to me for development and testing of those extensions.

Likewise, if you’re considering a new SDR design where you plan to have an Ethernet connection as one of, or the only, method of communication to the host computer, ideally it will be compliant with those protocols. If it is, it will “just work.” If it isn’t — it won’t, and software support for your design will be considerably more limited. Examples of such well-designed SDRs include the Andrus MK 1.5 and the AFEDRI, as well as the SDR-IQ via its network server applications. And of course all the RFSPACE networked SDRs.

If you’re looking for something to do, many USB-based receivers are desperately in need of precisely such a server. No, I don’t write these servers. I spend what time I have adding radio features to SdrDx. However, here is GPL’d source code for an SdrDx-compatible USB-to-Network server for the RTL 'stick' SDRs that can be refactored to support other USB devices. All you need to do with regard to SdrDx is tell me what device name you will use with the server (it currently reports in as 'RTLSVR', you need to pick a name for the device you’re supporting, and tell me what it is.)

Wideband RF Recordings — these are useful if you’d like to try out SdrDx but you don’t have an SDR yet. You can start SdrDx, press '>play (click that link, then look for the green button) and then enjoy receiving the described band, event, etc. You can tune within the bandwidth of the recording. So for instance, if you play the 6100 kHz recording, which is 200 kHz wide, you can tune from 6000 kHz to 6200 kHz — most of the 49 meter band! Just download and install SdrDx, then the file of interest, start SdrDx, press > and select the file (if it’s zipped, you have to unzip it first.)

Help for AFEDRI (preliminary)

People have been having problems getting the AFEDRI to work with SdrDx; I’m not sure why, but here is some information on what I did to get mine going.

Before you start, make sure you’ve set the audio output within SdrDx using to the correct device. If this is not set correctly, SdrDx cannot run.

Now as to the AFEDRI itself: First of all, I could not make the AFEDRI’s DHCP settings work at all. I contacted Alex, the designer, and after quite a few emails back and forth, he suggested a static IP configuration. I set that up, got it working on my normal network, and then connected it to my 2nd ethernet port on the Mac (this is under OS X 10.6.8) under a second network of 192.168.10.1; this involved some fairly annoying screwing around with the OS X configuration files. I never did get the DHCP to work, though some SdrDx users have. So I strongly suggest you set the AFEDRI up using a static IP; I think there may be some fairly severe bugs in the AFEDRI’s DHCP handling, or at least, ways it can be set up that simply don’t work. Other SDRs, such as the Andrus MK 1.5, configure using DHCP no problem, so it’s definitely something unique to the AFEDRI.

Having said that, it could very well be something I did in the configuration utility of the AFEDRI; the version I had only provided a Windows-only program, and I only fired up the laptop to work with it until I got it to work in general, and never looked back. Running windows give me hives. Still, I know for sure you can get the AFEDRI working with OS X — the AFEDRI is the SDR I’ve been using for quite a few months now; it’s a great SDR. I would expect results to be similar for Windows, that is, static IP will definitely work, and DHCP might not.

System Requirements

SdrDx and SwDb for the Mac require an Intel CPU, running Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or later.

So far, I have numerous third-party reports of SdrDx working under 10.6, 10.7, 10.8, 10.9, 10.10, 10.11 10.12, and 10.13.

Users of 10.11 through 10.13 report mixed results, under these OS X versions, USB server based SDR users are facing driver installation and activation problems, and tooltips and drop-down menus are blank; Apple’s gone and broken perfectly stable APIs again. Steps required to compensate for Apple’s idiot USB shenanigans are in the docs under new installs. No fix in known for the tooltips issue at this time.

There are two tricks required as of 10.9 and later:

First, you need to turn the “App Nap” feature off or when SdrDx is not the front window, OS X will put it to sleep, which will break it. Right click on the SdrDx app icon, select “info”, turn off App Nap, and close the info window. If you’ve got an SDR-IQ where the server runs under 10.9, you’ll need to do the same thing to the server application. Note: I suggest the very first thing you do with any application you install is turn off App Nap — it’s one of Apple’s worst ideas ever. That’s all there is to that.

Second, under 10.9 and later, for users of the SDR-IQ, Apple thoroughly broke the USB driver that is required for the SDR-IQ and SDR-14 (and possibly the CloudIQ — anyone have a CloudIQ running?) So in order to use the USB driver in the SDR-IQ/SDR-14 server application instead (so the USB to Net server will work), you need to enter the following in a shell right after you boot your machine…

sudo kextunload -b com.apple.driver.AppleUSBFTDI

…it’s not sticky, so you’ll have to do this every time you reboot your Mac.

And of course SdrDx requires an SDR as well if you want to receive live, although it can play back pre-recorded files without an SDR; in the specific cases of the AirSpy HF+, RTL SDR, SDR-IQ and SDR-14, you’ll need to use one of the server applications that puts these SDRs on the network. SdrDx’s support of RFSPACE SDRs and compatibles, and near-compatibles, is only via network connections, SdrDx does not directly interface with the USB connection of the SDR-IQ.

For the Mac, I am presently designing and testing and compiling under an OS X 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) virtual machine (VMWARE) running under OS X / MacOS 10.12.6.
