I should really dig out my couple of old Parallax Propeller boards and build an Eurorack module around one. To back up, the Propeller 1 is an older (well, circa 2006) microcontroller with the twist that it was designed from the ground up as a multicore machine, with 8 "cogs" running in parallel — and there was, at least at the time, a pretty active community building things that would run on a single cog, including a number of emulators of old sound chips.
