What’s your take on the twitter argument of sitting wherever you want for the preshow vs sitting in your assigned seat (unless the assigned seat is far as fuck lol)

Some people are saying if you have front row ticket for the show you should give that up for the preshow and let that time be first come first serve for seating. Other people are saying they should be allowed to sit in their assigned front row seat without having to feel like a dick for asking someone to move.

essentially it all comes down to people having made something up in their minds and being entirely unable to let go of that idea. literally nowhere does it say you have reserved seating for the preshow, some people simply assumed that and are now very disappointed it's not the case. and like. sucks? i guess? get over it? idk what to tell you. they let you into the room like Right before the preshow starts, there is just not time for everyone to faff about trying to find their assigned seat. additionally, most of the time they want everyone to sit somewhat in the middle of the room rather than all the way to the side (if it's a wide stage anyway) and then you'd have to move everyone whose assigned seats are far to one side and it would be further chaos. just. trust me. it's so much easier to have people sit wherever

i'll actually go as far as to say if you ask someone to move out of "your seat" for the preshow, you are the asshole. because again, that's just not how the seating works. it's first come first serve and if it's so important to you to sit in the front for 20 minutes of yapping you can simply try to be first in line

that being said i also don't really agree with people claiming gold vips have to let silver vip sit in the front for the preshow, like they shouldn't have to deliberately go further back either. everyone has an equal chance and i think that's fair

oh and my least favourite argument for why it should be assigned seating is "what if they don't get out of my seat before the show starts" bro what if there was no preshow and someone sat in your seat before you got in and refused to move, what would you do then? you go talk to venue staff and show your ticket where your seat is labeled. obviously. how is this possibly any different, there's plenty of time between when the preshow ends and the main show starts to sort that out

basically, if you thought you were guaranteed your coveted front row middle seat for the preshow as well as the main performance and are now very sad about the fact that you aren't, i'm sorry, that sucks, disappointment is never fun, believe me i get that. but you have got to stop acting like you've fallen victim to false advertising or you aren't getting what you paid for because it's just not the case in the slightest

I think that, as much as Patrick tries to be a good guy, he's just really oblivious and fails to notice important stuff. It doesn't mean that he doesn't care - no no no - but he's simply kinda stupid. And unfortunately, he's having issues with figuring out certain social cues.

So when your responses are dry, only sending simple yes and no to his messages, Patrick gets really pissed. What exactly is the issue - do you suddenly hate him? Has he done something so terrible that offended you and you weren't even able to talk to him about it? Or is it the harsh truth that you don't want to be friends with him anymore? While you're (somewhat) peacefully asleep, hoping to get past your anxiety in that way, Patrick spends hours pacing around his room, literal steam shooting from his ears.

And then he storms into your dorm in the middle of the night - because Patrick Zweig doesn't understand the concept of time and because Patrick Zweig doesn't care if somebody wants to get rest and mainly because Patrick Zweig doesn't like waiting - so you're forced to listen to him rant, half asleep, in your pyjamas.

"I don't understand it, I just - did I do something? - or what is it? Why won't you just tell me?"

"Patrick, just go to your place. We'll talk in the morning," you beg him with a sleepy voice, eyes closing.

Fitz Vacker is overhated

I'm new on tumblr, but I can smell the possible haters a mile away. But uhhhh, other than that, I shall voice mt opinions! GET READY HATERS. HAHAHHAHAHA

No stellarlune spoilers. I haven't read that book yet. But spoilers for the other books I guess?

First point: Exile.

I wanted to tackle one of the earliest point people had. What happened in book 2. Watch everyone say "He had no right to be mad at Sophie!" While yes, Sophie ended up being the saving grace in the end, they still went through huge amounts of grief. Everyone handles grief differently. Fitz handled it with anger directed to the person his dad was with while he was in Exile. He thought she was to blame. Mind you, the Vackers held a PLANTING for Alden. They thought he would die. Imagine how devastating that would be for anyone? Needing to hold a funeral for YOUR OWN FATHER because he's in such a state where they don't think he'll survive. Fitz was experiencing the first stage of grief. He was grieving.

Point 2: The Anger Issues

While yes, Fitz may have a short temper, it isn't a good reason to hate on him. While yes, he handled some situations poorly, he's still 1) A child and 2) An elf. And lets be honest, he's only gotten mad a few times throughout the entire series.

Point 3: Sokeefe

Totally agree. I think Oz gets criticized to an unfair degree by the canon and fandom alike (no one is shocked to hear this lol) but part of my issue is what he's criticized for, not just the extent. The show tends to take incredibly weird perspectives like, "How dare you give our uncle cool bird powers with no downside" and "How dare you save group members from a deadly airship crash." The fandom takes stances with larger political implications like, "How dare an abused man 'steal' his daughters away from the mother who wants to use them for a magical form of genocide" or issues that fundamentally break the core concept of the show: "How dare you let teenagers fight dangerous battles / How dare you reincarnate - something you have no control over - into a 14yo boy." The show does engage with some of Ozpin's morally complex choices with no easy answers like, "Is it okay to keep secrets if history has shown severe downsides to revealing that information?"... but then the answer the story decides on - "No it's not" - immediately doesn't apply to half the cast, with no examination of how that changes our perception of Ozpin's choice. And, as you say, the show simultaneously introduces HUGE mistakes - "You positioned yourself as a god! Then a king!!"- that the characters could absolutely mistrust him for... but they don't. Because they're too busy focusing on all of the above.

The only thing I'd push back against here is anyone being mad at Ozpin for "nearly attacking" Ruby. I'd consider that a highly unfair criticism as well given that:

We don't know if he would have attacked. He just charges with his and out-stretched, so Ozpin could just as likely have been intending to snatch the Relic

All these characters have aura and train/hit for funsies on a regular basis. It feels like a stretch - one working to paint Ozpin in an unfair light - to act like Ruby taking a hit is suddenly some horrific event that's worthy getting up-in-arms about

In this same scene the girls pull their weapons on Qrow and Oscar - someone WITHOUT that training/fully unlocked aura - gets punched into a tree. Again, consistent morality. Why is Ozpin in the wrong for charging with an open hand (ambiguous) but the girls are justified in pulling their weapons (clear intent)? Why should Super Fighter Ruby be defended for taking a hit after forcibly stealing secrets from Ozpin, but we should shrug off the newbie farm kid taking a hit for the "sin" of being an unwitting, passive vessel?

Plus... as said above, "forcibly stealing secrets." I'm not saying Ozpin is 100% justified in attacking Ruby over this, but I think he's a HELL of a lot more justified compared to actions like threatening Qrow or attacking Oscar. Ruby ignored his requests to give the Relic back; she ignored how terrified he clearly was. She wasted a wish (which Ozpin knew would happen). She revealed his entire, traumatic history to the group PLUS a total stranger (Maria) which, again, Ozpin knew would happen. Of course he tried to stop her. We will never know what lengths he would have gone to, whether he would have truly fought Ruby or just made a last minute grab, but even if he had fought her... It think that's understandable. We can argue about whether it's right, but it's not the sort of thing the heroes should be holding against him once tempers have cooled, especially when he has stuff like playing God that they have hold as a long term grudge.

Out of everything Ozpin has done, maybe being willing to fight the prodigy fighter to keep her from making one of the stupidest decisions we've seen in the show to date is pretty low on the sin list.

chapter 145 thoughts!

what even was this chapter, y'all. i'm getting a migraine.

While it certainly wasn't actively bad, it basically hits on enough of the issues I've been having with the Movie Arc that if you've been reading my chapter reviews lately, you could probably write this one yourself. Weird pacing, skipping over interesting parts of the movie, continued framing of AQRB as a shallow gag and failing to follow on any of the implied development from or literally any referenced fallout of the kiss in 143? It's all here, babes. It would ultimately just be boring and redundant for me to go over all that at length again, so I won't.

I will however say that I'm pretty disappointed we're blasting through what had the potential to be some really interesting bits of postmortem characterization for Ai, even filtered through 15YL. I don't mind the manga breezing past scenes we saw firsthand but like… how did Ai react when she realized she was pregnant? How did she feel, especially given that Spica once again emphasized her longing for a family of her own? IDK. The way the story is suddenly jolting forwards in these last few chapters and skipping such huge chunks of Ai's life ultimately feels very strange and I don't know what to make of it yet.

Everyone reacting to Crow Girl's acting was pretty funny though I'm kind of exhausted with Ruby's Gaga-For-Oniichansensei Gag Character flanderization. IDK if my tolerance for it is just decreasing or if it really is amping up, but at least in the 125-137 stretch I at least got the sense that they could be in the same room and have a normal conversation but ever since 139, it feels that bit more relentless. I imagine this would be less irritating if we knew how the aftermath of 143 had played out but it really seems like the manga is going to drag this out until we're all old and grey.

THAT SAID, this chapter does confirm that Aqua's hoshigan stayed white after that chapter and… eh. Who even knows what that means lol. It does at least imply that his talk with Ruby has brought him back to Baseline Aqua but Baseline Aqua is still a guy with every single mental illness on planet earth so I don't know if that's the world's biggest W quite yet. It certainly implies an improvement over double black hoshigan but… again, with Aqua being so totally cut off from the readers this whole arc and no idea of what happened in the aftermath of 143, it's impossible to make a meaningful guess as to wtf is going on with Aqua right now.

Oh yeah, uh. This chapter also I guess constitutes the reveal of how the AQRB reincarnation happened. I guess LMAO. Honestly, I don't have much to say about it other than it feels like a bit of an anticlimax for me? The idea works fine, the execution just left me… idk. Whelmed at best, underwhelmed at most. I feel like this backstory and the implied deep fondness for GRSR -> AQRB it implies doesn't really like up with the personality she displays in the Private arc but like, I kind of feel like she was tossed into the story without Akasaka having a clear idea as to what her role was even going to turn into so maybe that's not a surprise LOL

I will say I'm glad this seems to quash the theory that Aqua and Ruby were secretly capital-G Gods, instead framing it as a Tsuru no Ongaeshi type return of kindness to two otherwise mundane people. There was some fun fan theorizing around the idea, but for me personally, Oshi no Ko is most interesting when it focuses on that aspect of the story Akasaka highlighted in an interview recently, of human relationships being warped by the entertainment industry and I think an explosion of the emotional stakes to the cosmic scale of AQRB (or tbh any of the characters) being Secretly Gods All Along would be a bit of a shark jump for me and would really shift away from what I like about the series most.

That's kind of it for this one…! Not really a lot to say about this chapter, which is why most of this review was me explaining why I didn't have a lot to say about it.

7x05 Eddie Spec (Claw arm call)

A lot of people have been talking about the promo and Buck's date (rightly, because !!!) but I haven't seen anyone talking about the rest of the promo with the dude with the claw hand being a speaker at a convention talking about "the secret to self-control" with the sign "I'm the boss of me" behind him, while his hand seemingly takes on a life on its own and tries to hurt him.

Given how we know this episode is gonna have a huge Eddie plot and will likely be Eddie-centric if not feature him heavily, and calls are usually supposed to reflect whatever is going on in the character's personal lives, I can't help but feel like this "self-control" convention is pretty interesting to see in relation to an episode where Eddie's going to be struggling with his relationship with Marisol (and maybe his sexuality subtextually).

Eddie and "self-control" have already had a tumultuous relationship over the course of the whole time he's been on the show. A lot of Eddie's personality is very restrictive, not allowing himself certain things either because he doesn't think he deserves it, or because he would rather sacrifice his own wants and needs in order to prioritize someone else's (usually Christopher's). Eddie's irrational need to always be in control of himself (hence why he was so in denial about his panic attacks) has caused him many many issues over the years, and while he's definitely started unpacking a lot of it, especially in regards to his military service and his relationship with his dad, he hasn't really done so in regards to his relationships, and I think that's on purpose.

"Self-control" is also "self-denial" which is also in the same vein as "repression" and I just can't help but feel like this call will likely mirror Eddie, in that the "hand that suddenly has a life of its own" and is now coming back to hurt the man, is a reflection of something within Eddie that he's tried desperately to control before, but will now take on a life of its own. When you deny yourself something, it's usually denying a desire of some kind. And I think that it's time that Eddie's desires that he's been so desperately trying to keep under lock and key for years will finally take on a life of their own, and the more Eddie desperately tries to wrangle it back inside, to shut it up, to stifle it, to deny it, the harder it will fight back and the worse it will hurt him in the process.

My prediction for that call is the second that man finally stops trying to control his arm will be the second he's free of whatever is "possessing" it. Because in actuality, the arm isn't being possessed, it doesn't have a life of its own (it may or may not be something medical idk but my guess is still that it's likely something psychological). The man's arm is a part of him. Just like Eddie's sexuality is a part of him. And Eddie can only find harmony in himself, and stop hurting himself by making choices he knows he doesn't actually want, when he stops trying to control the Unspoken thing inside him and lets himself be free.

I'm not saying Eddie's going to be having any big revelations in this episode, or that it's going to be resolved right away but this call will likely be a strong hint at where Eddie's story is going to go, and 7x05 will be just the start of it.

AITA for faking orgasms?

This might come as a shock given the title but I'm a man, and so is my boyfriend. However I'm much more sexually experienced than him, as in I'm his first sexual/romantic partner meanwhile I've had sex with at least 30 different guys before. I also generally have a more consistent libido, and I'm desensitized down there to a degree, AND I also often get stuck in my own head due to certain neuroses and ocd and whatnot -- all this to say, it's REALLY hard for me to reach a real climax with another person.

And my bf is aware of this. I've told him many times. I've also reassured him (truthfully!) that partially due to this, an orgasm is not the end-all-be-all of sex for me, and that I can absolutely enjoy myself without "finishing." And if he still feels bad, I will not only take a backrub or something essentially as a replacement for him making me finish, but I in fact often prefer it. I promise I've tried everything; this is not a communication issue.

But. Basically no matter what I say or do, he just doesn't believe me. Or he isn't capable of accepting it, idk. He's insistent that it makes him bad at sex and it means he couldn't please me if I don't come... all the while that he almost never actually takes initiative to do any dominant role? So tbqh he's not totally wrong about that self-assessment but it's still ridiculous bc he doesn't even know WHY? Anyway.

Telling him things that he could do to ever make it better doesn't really work either, because the moment I "criticize" him during sex, even if it's just telling him to move his legs into a different position, he often takes it incredibly personally and just stops wanting to have sex altogether bc he's suddenly not in the mood. And if it's after he's finished, he's basically conked out. He never has any energy by that point except to more or less demand that I come, as nowadays he counts my capacity to jerk off afterwards as something evident of his "ability to please me," I guess. By that point, I'm still just jerking off by myself while he plays on his phone or falls asleep next to me, which I hate and find a huge turn-off and have expressed multiple times that it's at least "weird" and "funny" to do so. But he keeps doing it.

Inb4 the most likely majority response to a lot of this: I'm aware that we're clearly not that sexually compatible. But leaving the relationship is not an option even if I wanted to. The routine of us having sex is, regardless of exactly how satisfying it is, essentially necessary to our mutual happiness.

Now that that's out of the way, here's the real meat: I've decided relatively recently to just... pretend to come. I can often get to a sort of mini-orgasm long before a real one is on the horizon and I just kind of exaggerate that. It really turns him on, and it gets rid of any of the tension that would otherwise be there once we're both done, and I'm able to either fall asleep or otherwise move on in peace.

Now obviously, this is lying, and I don't like having to lie, and also if he ever realizes that I fake them then he's gonna feel even worse than when I outright say I didn't come. But clearly it's also causing strife to be truthful, and it's also not that hard to fake it. Jesus I can't believe I'm still receiving these asks in this year of our lord 2023 but okay I have ten minutes before I need to leave the house, I can answer this.

First of all, you are absolutely right, I am 1000% biased towards Stiles and Peter because they're my favourite characters and my TW otp. Idk anybody who likes a character and ship and isn't at least a little more fond of them than any other characters/ships.

But second of all, I do not have a problem with a character not wanting to kill. It's a little boring to write because I like my characters feral and unhinged these days, but it's not like I haven't written them myself. That's not the issue here. What are you even talking about? Scott absolutely wants to kill. WHEN IT BENEFITS HIM.

Peter killing people for revenge is a big no-no. But then Scott is told that killing the Alpha can change him back? Then killing someone is suddenly perfectly alright. It doesn't matter that he didn't succeed in the end. That's just because Derek was faster, not because he didn't want to kill Peter.

And it's not just once. There's also Gerard, and okay, we all want Gerard dead, that's not the point. The point is, Scott plotted premeditated murder against the guy by swapping out his cancer pills with literal poison and then forced Derek to bite him. He absolutely 100% was out to kill Gerard because Gerard threatened his mom, and that's fine. I have issues with how he went about it, but it's not like I have a problem with him trying to take out Gerard when he's backed into a corner like that. The problem is his double standards, and it's one thing if he was young, and it was a personality flaw he would fix over time, but the thing is, he never grows out of it, because ten thousand seasons down the road, Donovan threatens Stiles' dad and literally tries to kill Stiles, so Stiles ends up accidentally killing the guy out of self-defense, but what's Scott's response? "There's always another choice." He doesn't let Stiles explain, doesn't give him the benefit of the doubt, he just walks away.

And there are other incidents where his hypocrisy just defies all sense and logic, but we're supposed to view him as this paragon of goodness and justice? Why is it okay for Scott to murder people but not anybody else? Because other people actually end up with dead bodies and he doesn't? That doesn't make Scott not want to kill. That just makes him bad at killing.

My biggest problem with Scott is that he is a huge-ass hypocrite, but he/the show never, not once, acknowledges that or tries to fix it in any way. Whether or not he wants to kill isn't the issue. It's that he only approves of it when killing someone benefits him, but when it doesn't involve him, he feels free to judge and condemn others for it.

Hmm a really clear concept just came to me... Security guard Drift at the marine research facility, Ratchet is the only mer there who constantly avoids him, so he just disappointedly assumes he gives Ratchet bad vibes

One night when he's on a skeleton shift, he passes by Ratchet's tank and suddenly notices that something is fucked up with the filtration pumps (or whatever I don't know how aquariums work)

He immediately makes an emergency call to the aquarium techs who are at home. They tell him to get Ratchet moved till someone arrives to fix it. So he's hesitantly going up to the tank like, "hey buddy I know you dont like me, but I gotta pull you out of here for a bit, it's not safe" Ratchet quickly pulls himself right into Drifts arms... and now he's carrying a big squirming octomer. Drift's pretty surprised, but he brushes it off as Ratchet wanting out of his tank

When Drift finally gets to the temporary tank he expects Ratchet to jump from his arms and signal for him to basically fuck off... instead, he goes to put Ratchet down, only to get pulled into the tank with him. Now he's sitting in chest high water, pinned by a heavy wiggling octomer in his lap

For Ratchet, life is good 😎👍

Drift, meanwhile, is mentally repeating "don't get hard" like a mantra, while a purring Ratchet's tentacles caress every inch of his plating. Since it was the middle of the night, they have to wait a good bit for someone who can fix the pumps to get there and make Ratchet's tank safe again...

Maybe, as the hours go on, Ratchet gets a bit friskier... or maybe he just leaves it at intimate exploration, because he's too busy watching Drift whimper and twitch underneath his tentacles <3

Like where you get marks on your skin that your soulmate has

So when you write on your skin and think you’re writing with one person but its actually two people, both of which also think that they’re talking to one person (this could be so hilarious lmao)

And spot and race find out their soulmates (bc their marks are identical obv)

Well one day race is looking into the mirror with a huge black eye and he is furious at spot like “what the HELL did you do this time?!” And spot who was really worried about race after seeing the same thing is like “I WAS GONNA ASK YOU THE SAME THING” because it isnt from him???

And then they realise that there’s a third one

And then they hear rumours or like,,, idk, read a news article or whatever about this fight that happened that exact night

Obviously they have their suspicions but they dont wanna get their hopes up bc it COULD be a coincidence

Anyway so just days later, spot meets this guy and finds out he’s actually one of the people from the fight but he doesn’t have the black eye so he frantically asks him who the other person was and the guy is just like “o-..okay wtf” but gives him the name and shit. spot calls race and they immediately go to the guy (his name is albert) because the bruise is already healing and they may not have much time (obv they could just make another mark. But they are way to dense to think of that)

And the door opens to this abnormally gorgeous ginger guy who’s only current visual imperfection is this bruise. His eyes widen in realisation and then go back to pure confusion when he realises there’s two of them and suddenly everything makes sense ahhhhhh

And optionally (they already know what albert looks like in advance. In this scenario)Albert could have an identical twin who opens the door and for a second they think it wasn’t him after all. After a few seconds of not saying anything, tommy (who would be alberts twin) is like “yes?” Like these two guys -who r obviously soulmates (but he does reckognise that black eye from somewhere)- just show up at his apartment fir some reason and then not say anything?

So race and spot apologise and explain the situation and tommy just grins and lets them in. And they’re like “????” And tommy facetimes albert and they’re just more confused and tommy just says “you got the wrong dasilva twin!” And then they understand. Albert, who doesn’t know who tommy is talking to or what he’s talking about, has the same reaction that tommy had when spot and race show up (but prolly with more anger issues lol) and he’s like “you fucking idiot why di you call me and then not talk to me” and then tommy just hands over the phone to race and spot and albert just blinks like “and you are??” But then he notices something “WAIT THATS MY—? Wait but you—“ and he’s just rly confused and spot and race explain and they agree to meet up and then tgey lived happily ever after
