Let Danny’s Parents Be Criminals

I hate the reveal gone wrong trope in the dpxdc fandom because we know Jack and Maddie end up supporting Danny and Dani in the end. His parents have some major flaws but wanting to torture their actual child isn’t one. What they are guilty of is going way too hard on any plan they cook up without thinking of the consequences.

If I were writing a dpxdc fic and I wanted Danny in adoptable status I’d just have Jack and Maddie in jail on charges of domestic terrorism after they killed off GIW agents and destroyed the GIW’s bases. They realized their ghost kids were in potential danger and went at the government the same way they went at ghosts, guns blazing and with reckless driving.

They end up in federal prison and they Vlad wins custody cause he’s rich and there is your runaway Danny plot starter.

So recently I’ve been more than a little obsessed with the 1983 Jim Henson company project called “Fraggle Rock,” about all these silly little muppet creatures having crazy adventures in the cave system in which they live, called, appropriately, Fraggle rock. After watching 3/4 of the seasons, I started doodling some of my fav cats OCs as fraggles, and it just sort of spiraled from there. the traveler’s been to a fuck ton of different worlds canonically right? who’s to say they haven’t been to ours? (or i mean like really fucking similar at least)

so like what if you and the traveler just had a bunch of shitty inside jokes or something that was really just a bunch of random-ass memes from irl or whatever.

it would have begun when you first blurted out a reference to something, or made some kinda shitty meme reference in response to something someone said while the traveler was present. like:

*someone says something about kamera photos or smth*

which you blurted out “bogos binted?” in response to. everyone would have just stared at you like what the fuck did you just say lol??

nevertheless, the traveler would have also made a confused as fuck face, but then shortly followed up with a strange imitation of a grey alien face.

holy shit moment from there. now you two subtly make references to shit like that with each other every now and then, often to get a confused reaction out of the rest of the cast.

and it works so well every time.

of course the others want to know what the fuck you two are talking about. you sometimes try and explain, but it never really goes well.

the traveler, on the other hand, refuses to. it’s not like they’ll get it. besides, this is something special they have with you.

but then the others will complain in response saying that the traveler is already special enough or whatever to you since they’re the one that you controlled for so long.
