17. What's a book, movie, or show you think [character] would like?
You didn't mention a character so I'm just going to list off some Supergirl characters and what I would recommend to them and hope I get the right one (tbf you probs meant Kara or Lena but I want to do the other characters).
Kara: to Kara I would recommend She-Ra and the Princesses of Power so she can escape into a world of fantasy whilst healing her inner child.
Lena: for Lena I would recommend Blackadder for some dry comedy to help her take life less seriously (whilst being old enough that it feels sophisticated).
Alex: for Alex it's gotta be Killing Eve, a sapphic woman working for a secret government organisation? I think she could relate.
Kelly: Grey's Anatomy I feel like she would enjoy the drama and the trauma of it all, plus her wife is in it!
Nia: for Nia it has to be Hot Fuzz I just think she would love it.
Brainy: idk if there's anything on earth that Brainy hasn't seen or read, I'd probably recommend him a self help book on dealing with emotions.
20. When did you first join Tumblr? How long was it between that and finding [fandom]?
I think I first joined tumblr in around 2017, believe it or not this account was originally a studyblr, but I gave up on making that a thing pretty quickly. I discovered supercorp in 2019 and in 2020 I dug up my old tumblr account, deleted my old posts and started posting again (but fandom stuff this time) and the rest is history.

studyblr community prompt #2 || relaxation
how do i relax. this one is. in depth i think. my rest days are typically on saturdays; after tuition classes, and i think my ideal nighttime routine can go here as well...
ideal daily nighttime routine:
okay so this is like. not after my study but like a buildup to it i guess? i finish all my content-heavy studying before dinner, and try to spend half an hour/a full hour just doing choreo and then get dinner. until 19:30.
after dinner i try to get done any admin tasks/easy things i have like bujo and organisation, and spend an hour or two on math practices (depends on the day yk how it is.) 20:00 to 23:00 or 20:30 to 23:30. may be 2h. idk
going to shower now! simple really i dont have a very extensive thing. i may shower right after dinner as well; it depends. 20:00 to 20:30 or 23:00 to 23:30.
starting 23:30. i've been getting into tea recently! gonna boil some water on the kettle or have it iced, depending on the day. i like fruit and flower teas, herb is nice too. im not picky. i may brew some for my dad and sibling too.
come back into my room and clean up anything i threw around.
if there's no school/all-day unpredictable event going on the next day, plan that out. fill in bujo while im at it. i usually grab a small thing like a kitkat while im doing this and drink tea.
read myself to sleep at 24:00 !! :)
ideal weekly rest routine:
this is after tuition, so we start at 15:00 when it ends. i usually get a monster drink and/or a snack to bring home now.
go home with my sibling, takes an hour ish. depends really. we get home latest 16:30.
unpack and change outta my binder. standard stuff.
game/watch smth/take a nap for a few hours! up until i dunno. 18:30?
if im up to it, i work on projects at this time as well, like my dnd campaign or gifts for someone or some code.
18:30 to 19:30 i try to do some choreo if im feeling up to it. if not then i keep doing what i was earlier. this is supposed to be a very lax time.
basically the same timeline as my daily routine (im a routine fiend). i'll often replace the practice/admin work im doing with organisation or some projects im on.
sleep at 24:00 :)
this makes me sound super disciplined. im really not; im just a guy who needs routine and again these are ideals. i dont do this half the time, its js a rough guide for me to follow. i dont do this if i study late into the night as well; so yanno. thanks for the prompt !! 🤎🤎

📚 favorite course you’ve taken?
uuuh idk, actually! i really liked most of my math classes, the profs were really nice and i love maths. tho my answer is probably my coding classes. those are always fun, and it's so satisfying to see your code doing more complex stuff along the course
my favorite class to learn about was probably quantum physics, however i can't say it was my favorite course bc i could not, for the life of me, pay attention to the class lol
📁 what is a project/assignment you’re really proud of?
omg, im literally hugging you rn for sending me this question. probably my final project of the degree.
it was a bit of an insane ride for me, bc long term projects are a big challenge for me. but i was thinking, hey, my supervisor will obvious check up on me regularly, right? im just a baby student, she has a whole phd, of course she won't just leave me alone? yeahh, she did. she did leave me all alone. it sucked. i was really lost, i had weeks in the first months that i didn't do almost anything and that would make me even more anxious to work on the project. honestly, i didn't learn barely anything in this project except how to work by myself. how to deal with an absent supervisor, how to take iniciative. but i ended up getting all the stuff she wanted done, i found mistakes in her own methodology and i aced the project - literally got a 20/20 final grade. (and im also really proud of the final report - 30 pages in english and my supervisor didn't find any relevant mistake on it!)

hello, i drafted an aesthetic studyblr post for today, but didn't feel like posting it bc today is an ugly rant kind of day. (more kermits under the cut)
AAAAHHHHHH STUPID FREAKING WINDOWS- 😩😫😭🤬🤬🤬 so i was working on my laptop for these past few days which uses a different ms office version from the computer i switched to today and all my work was LOST!! 😭😭 all the notes i took on OneNote (at least it was just the psyc notes i had done on the laptop - idk what i would do if biochem or mol bio notes were lost. i'd probably cry for real) and all the work i did on that biochem paper? GONE!! my brother uses LibreOffice so i finally switched to that (altho their UI isn't that nice). at this point, i might as well switch to linux (unless that would cause unforeseen problems if i still sometimes do work on windows? idk) 😅 any recs for free notes apps that have a small learning curve and are OneNote-like?
the STRANGEST part is, some of the notes and lost files came back as i was working?? i didn't do anything and i *swear* i wasn't seeing things, so like, WTF??? not that i'm complaining. i hope the entire week of psyc notes i lost comes back. if not, i'll probs rewrite them if i have time. i hope i have time. i really hate this.
also, good thing i didn't like the way i wrote the biochem paper so far. i rewrote the thing in a google doc instead just to be safe and i like the way it flows much better now. AND!!! it's super annoying that i had to do this, but my handwritten notes on the main article i'm basing my paper on were confusing me. like, in terms of the flow of the biochemistry. so i basically rewrote those notes, doing this huge web in paint and idk if i could've done that on the first read instead of the way i did it. i hate feeling like i've done double work.
after rewriting the paper (i'm not even done yet - there are several things i wanna add yet and some facts i wanna clarify) and my notes on the article for said paper, i was exhausted. i tried to switch gears by reading the instructions/background for the biochem discussion post due tmr (that i was supposed to write today 😒) but i don't get it. it's like i didn't cover lipoproteins at all! i don't remember anything! what am i here* for if i can't remember anything?!
update: i answered 1 question for the discussion post. i still have to answer 1 more but i need to finish reading the background info first.
ALSO! i was supposed to study for 6+ hours today. i have no idea how long i actually studied bc i kept stopping and starting the study with me video and i worked through the breaks anyway, so the dinging timers were just annoying.
*"here" as in at uni, studying, although if in the right mood, it could also expand to my entire existence 🙂 (luckily i'm too angry rn to feel philosophical 😒)
okay, let's try not to end so sour. good things that happened today:

my favorite part of being a Former Studyblr Hoe is that at least once a year i get the uncontrollable urge to try bullet journaling again
#i never went full studyblr cause y'all. shit is EXPENSIVE#but i was like. walmart studyblr. i still have an entire drawer of pens and markers... AND an empty notebook to journal in....#bullet journals as a to-do list have never worked for me (i use the website ticktick if anyone wants a to-do list recommendation...)#but using bullet journals as like a habit tracker/dumping spot for info i need to access regularly works for me#idk i've been trying to track how well my adhd meds are working and my current method isn't working#and then i'm playing around with this new hair care routine and need a way to record what does/doesn't work#so yeah i am SO bored by my work right now that i've decided to return to bullet journaling instead!!!#m.txt

My name is Matun and I’m studying Marine Science and Technology at my uni.Yes!, I study about oceans and everything related to it.The subjects I’m taking this semester are GIS and Remote Sensing , Marine Instrumentation , Environmental Impact Assessment and some others.Honestly I wish I start studyblr earlier and be more organize with my assignments and workloads.I really just write my notes on a piece of paper and stapler them lmao. Tranquil's Studyblr Challenge, 1
Today, I am grateful for tea. It's been colder here in my new state than it was back home, so free tea at the dining hall has kept me from sinking into its-too-cold depression! (idk if anyone else has this experience but in all seriousness i get really really sad & upset when i'm cold)
Today, my goals are to walk the track at the gym and go to sleep before midnight--I've been having trouble waking up in the morning, so I want to try and make it a bit easier for myself by getting more sleep!
The beginning of the challenge, woohoo you did it! A lot of the time starting is the hardest part. So, tell us a little bit about yourself! What are you studying currently, where are you in your life right now? Are you happy with where you are right now? What are your goals in doing this challenge? (this is taken from the last challenge! I loved all the answers you guys gave for it so I’m bringing it back!)
My name is Six! I'm studying Secondary Education, with a focus in Language Arts. I'm a freshman student at university--this account isn't a studyblr, but I follow quite a few and really enjoy studyblr content (as my friends can attest to; I spam them with aesthetic academic posts all the time!).
Right now, I'm in the middle of a gender transition while also trying to pursue writing with more seriousness than I have before, so it's a lot of change at once. I've been practicing a lot of coping skills, and that makes me actually really satisfied with how life is! I feel calm and happy a lot more than I did before, I think, and that's super cool!
My main goal in doing this challenge is to set aside time every day to write! Though this isn't one of the big projects I have in the works right now, it allows me to experience that joy of sitting down and putting words to paper/screen, which I haven't gotten to do nearly as much as I want to.
Thanks so much for setting up this challenge! I'm really looking forward to a lot of the questions :)

I’m pretty sure mostly everyone knows Jasmine from studyquill and I love her new content. I feel like there is so much of her in it, like, she just talks and is so sweet. I usually cannot watch some studyblrs because seeing how much they buy can affect my mood (it has nothing to do with them, let me clarify this if you make your own money I’m not going to tell you how to spend it) because I just hate how the study community is driven by capitalism and other aspects. Still love her videos, she’s like tied for first place with Vee.

I also really love that she didn’t go to like a really big college or like- some studyblrs say “Harvard-” or “my yale routine”. Ngl this is a youtuber I watch for the aesthetics. Her notes are really pretty but she also uses cheaper supplies than others meaning I can find them more easily than many of the Japanese or Korean brands (FYI she doesn’t post anymore).

Don’t even get me started about my girl Nitya! I love her and her videos have helped me so much with time managment and ugh so many things about studying and scheduling. She is so smart, I’m so happy and proud of her. She is really and underappriciated youtuber who just needs like so much more for what she is giving us.

Holly is one of the most calming studyblrs I’ve watched. When first entering into the studyblr community I watched a ton of her videos and saw how she studied. I loved her note taking video, I wouldn’t say ours are exactly the same but it was so helpful for me to see how she worked her notes. I haven’t watched some of her videos as much, but she speaks French beautifully so if you want to learn French she even makes videos in French. She goes to university in Switzerland (I believe).
Overall, these people either introduced me into the studyblr community or I just really liked their videos and watch them on a daily basis.

I really don’t want to say I don’t like Emily, I believe she is a very dedicated student who works hard and literally is good at what she does, she does support the buying aspect or continous buying aspect of the community that I personally don’t like to see. However, others do love to watch her and she is so considerate of others, especially in her ipad notes videos where she started showing cheaper alternatives (and even free apps) for ipad note taking, the apple pencil, and more. I would say watch her if you want like a “true” studyblr youtuber.

I think this will be the last youtuber I talk about. She makes motivational videos along with simple routine videos I find myself watching every now and then. Very nice and I enjoy listening to some background noises while taking breaks.
I think this is the end of my first list. This list will always start growing and changing. I hope to share more yotubers especially small youtubers within the studyblr community and minorities within our community because I feel like (this is something Seo mentions in her videos as well) it can be very white focused or there is little representation of black students. I want to help fix this by spreading information of students who I believe give good advice and aren’t as popular as others (and by no means and I’m saying any of my ‘big’ youtubers don’t deserve it. They do. Mostly all youtubers in the studyblr community do deserve everything they recieve and most likely more because they try really hard to appeal to their community. I don’t hate on any studyblr, I simply want to spread more out there).

i’ve been pretty MIA lately because mentally i’ve not been doing well. i’ve been taking some much needed time to rest and recover from a few busy weeks, but today i’m back and studying for my RBT competency assessment which i’ll be starting this thursday!

Ummm so I'm new to tumblr so don't judge if I did something wrong.Ummm how can I be like you? Like you know? Productive and smart.I always push myself but ended up being distracted by things (I have adhd and depression).I can't even remember anything after.I suffer,and continue suffering, from my mental illnesses.I just can't keep myself on track.My family makes fun of me for trying.I'm actually trying to find a part time job here but nothing hires minors.Idk please help meee.
hi, friend! answer under the cut because this will be long.
please know you’re doing nothing wrong, and that the fact you keep trying to become better and to push yourself to always get things done despite difficult circumstances already shows that you ARE already productive and smart.
second, it also helped me when i was struggling very heavily last year to learn two things: 1) there will always be particularly bad days when you live with mental illness, but all the little efforts you take, it slowly does get less difficult. getting better does not mean completely getting rid of all the symptoms you experience, but mostly just learning the best ways and small, gentle things you can do for yourself to manage your condition. this really requires a gentle but firm balance between pushing yourself to do the things you absolutely need to do, but also knowing when what level of work/school/self-care or hobbies is the limit, so that you don’t get too overwhelmed. this means most of the time, you don’t have to worry about being productive for its own sake. it helps me when i feel like i’m drowning to know how little i can do/the most non-negotiable bare minimum, that still helps me not to fall behind.
^ this is a small, cheap pad of sticky notes i carry with me throughout my entire day. it’s only big enough so that i can only write a few school tasks/personal things i need to do/chores, which helps me evaluate what exactly i can only get done, especially on days where i don’t feel well. checking off absolutely everything on my tiny list makes me feel like i’ve accomplished a lot, because i i have-- they aren’t necessarily a lot of tasks, but they’re the ones that i know really do need to get done. it also helps me focus when i have a lot of nervous energy, and have a panicked sense of “so many things need to get done!!!?” because i can give myself a bit of time to sit down, maybe turn on an episode of a show i like or make some coffee, and write down my tasks. it really helps me with the faint, tiny guilt and dread i used to feel day by day that i was being unproductive or lazy, because now i know i’ve fulfilled all my obligations to myself (everything from doing laundry, to making dinner) and to other people (schoolwork and other tasks). it’s okay to move at the pace that’s only possible for you right now. it’s better to feel comfortable with the smallest things you can do, and build on that as the days come. 2) getting distracted is normal, given Everything Happening Right Now, plus with a mental health condition that makes it hard to focus. it can also be hard to remember things when i study, because of my own health conditions, but i’ve found that the following things have helped: regarding distraction - use a small system that keeps you from accessing any distractions when you need to get something done. i try to leave my non-essential device in another room, and set up a timer-based blocker, to limit the websites i access. - i try to acknowledge the distractions as they come, and try to figure out why: am i hungry? am i tired? have i gotten enough sleep? do i need a break? if it isn’t anything serious, i just acknowledge that i’ve gone briefly off-track-- without guilt, without judgment. then i try to turn my mind back to the task at hand. - a good ambient playlist can make me feel more focused during hard tasks in the sense that i have some form of stimulation to keep the “itchiness” at bay. video game soundtracks and film soundtracks are also wonderful for long, tricky tasks. - sometimes i just have to start to feel motivated-- the focus actually comes in in the middle of the task. the fact of starting something may actually make you feel motivated.
- procrastinate productively: sometimes when i really don’t want to study i turn on a movie or a show and use the time to clean my room or fold laundry. my life still feels put-together, and i enjoyed myself! win-win.
- and sometimes i realize that focus may be impossible at the moment: take a break, go for a run, do something you like, take a nap. regarding learning and remembering things i used to have the worst time recalling things for school, until i prioritized two things: SLEEP, and not cramming. i used to get extremely poor grades in my first year of law school because i would put off studying at the last and latest moment-- a few days before exams, pulling all-nighters right up until the hour the exam started. i would also just use my free time to scroll on social media, instead of taking a nap or going to bed early. this was absolutely wrong. during the exam, i couldn’t recall anything because i was too tired, too frazzled, probably didn’t have breakfast, and because i had started and finished half a semester of reading in one night. my grades have gotten much better lately-- i’d like to think it’s because i’ve centered it around two things: (a) getting enough sleep every single night (helpful ESPECIALLY if you have health problems-- mental or physical), and (b) making exam day the least stressful it can be. how do i do this? - this means not only learning things for the exam, but also for classes on a daily period. you don’t have to study particularly hard, but you just have to study enough that you can understand what the professor is saying in class. set definite study hours every day, stop at a very specific and reasonable hour, and go to bed. try to get at least 6 hours of sleep. sleep helps me absorb everything better (idk science but this is from experience and also some very smart people i know ALSO prioritize getting sleep). wake up at a reasonable hour. - how to study: read the syllabus, and try to get a decent overview of all the topics you need to cover before you start testing/making flashcards/doing active recall (which is IMPORTANT bc this helps you actually train your brain to retrieve information). imho as someone low-energy i find that rewriting notes/making reviewers/making flashcards makes me very tired and leaves very little time for actual studying, so it just helps to test myself by looking at the syllabus and trying to explain the concept to myself, then peeking at the textbook or materials to see what i’m missing. mind-maps are also energy-efficient ways of figuring out how concepts fit together. - how to study for exams: the very latest you should start is a week ahead. two weeks ahead is ideal. map out how much information you need to re-learn from the syllabus. move slowly with the aim of finishing the coverage by the first week. the second is for reviewing and RESTING. - THE NIGHT BEFORE THE EXAM: do a final, gentle survey over the topics you may not understand. stop at 10 pm. go to sleep. - EXAM DAY: you’ve done the work. take the time to eat breakfast, test yourself SLOWLY AND GENTLY (avoid reading huge chunks of textbook at this point-- youll only confuse yourself), and set up your workspace to take the exam. crush said exam. as a final note: it can be hard to get things done when the people closest to you aren’t supportive. try to reach out on studyblr and find discord study with me servers, or study communities on reddit (they’re actually really nice), or with students in your class. if you need to talk, just dm me. you can do this friend, okay? take care always. gentler days will come.
