He should be the most special and powerful!” a) Plus, pretty sure they’re building his OPness by giving u other powerful ppl to compare him to, and b) where did all the arguments that the women are powerful “in a different way” go? Hm? Did Egwene not use her weaves effectively instead of trying to raw power against a forsaken? Hm? I understand Liandrin is the bad guy, but she did tell u it isn’t all about raw power

“Mat is ruined! Where’s his moral compass!!! Why is he useless!!” oh you mean poisoned by the dagger for almost three whole books would sooner run from a battle than face it disgusted by Rand’s magicalness at every turn bc he’s watching his normal life go up in flames Mat? That Mat? Honestly, if anything, the show actively pushed you to like Mat this season, in an attempt to recover from what show onlys would see as treachery when Barney left the cast and forced a story nobody could prepare for!

“Perrin’s done nothing! He’s practically not even a character!” Whoooooo boy, you guys. Lemme tell you. Of the three male leads, perrin is literally the most tangible in the show. We watch him lose a loved one by his own hand, and proceed to ask everyone and their mother how to be a good person, on top of actively searching for the horn, learning more about the wolf brother stuff AND save ppl whenever he can. Perrin is literally the most grounded, most relatable male lead. Every show only I’ve seen react to the series agonises over his entire life. Rand and Mat? So personal, internal and otherworldly in their issues, Perrin feels centred. His arc feels palpable bc we got to see him physically lose someone. People can conceptualise his pain! He’s the people’s hero! He’s not fantastical, esp. given his wolf-forest-animal stuff, it’s a very catholic guilt like guilt you’d be surprised how that permeates a story. Which! Which! Book! Accurate!

Sometimes I’m reminded that in universe Chilchuck is an actually influential figure who like. Made huge advancements for his people and community. Like as in gave them rights and protections. And who is widely known by half-foots because of that. Like. He’s not just some guy.

Idk For some reason that just makes his role in canon really funny to me. Like this older, extremely important and accomplished figure is just willingly putting himself thru it for the sake of this random autistic 26 year old.

hey so i Fully Believe that telemachus was not afraid of odysseus in Hold Them Down

people may have told him stories of Odysseus, King of Ithaca, Athena's chosen Champion, Hero of Troy

but mama's boy telemachus sat by her feet as she wove tapestry after tapestry; and penelope told her little wolf stories of his father

how they met, how he tripped over himself to woo her, how he cried his eyes out when penelope became pregnant, how telemachus wouldn't sleep in his cot as a baby because he was so used to being in his father's arms because odysseus would not put him down; and yes, how viciously he defended their family when the atrides came to retrieve him for the war

telemachus? the child of the Unhinged Power Couple? who knew very well how horrible those suitors were, how they treated him and spoke of his mother?

took one look at his dad viciously protecting their home, their family, and thought he was the coolest, strongest person ever (after mom ofc)

having good & true friends will literally save and protect you in a million unfathomable ways. like okay we have written so many times about lovers. but the way a platonic friend laughs and cries with you. the way they hold your hand at 14 years old and at 34. the way they keep a little silver tie to you, touching base over and over and over. how you can go years without talking, only to re-meet and discover: oh shit! you're still cool!

there are people who have been in my life for more than half of it, and i have loved every version of them. do you know how fucking beautiful that is. yeah love will save the world. but the way friends love you is gonna save the you.

I think with Yor being so perceptive, she picks up on little things often (like we saw in ch 103). i believe this would impact loid more so than the usual person, because he is a spy and fakes every part of himself, so to be seen is simultaneously desirable and horrifying. like, it makes him torn between wanting to accept and reciprocate the love, or distancing himself so that it doesn't happen again.

thats mostly what the last panel is about, that dichotomy between 'omg this person noticed this about me, is this love' and 'oh shit this person noticed this about me, is this Doom'

the man pointed to his face as you got on tip toes to press a kiss to his nose through the balaclava he had under the helmet.

“don’t make it a late one, alright?”

as you gave him a haphazard salute, he reached behind to give you a pat on the backside before he stood to retrieve the brown paper bag he’d been carrying.

lunch in hand, you lean in to press a kiss to the visor he’d just lowered- right on top of the lipstick print that sat in the corner of it.

the print that looked a lot like your lips.

the helmet never leaves the back of you as you walk towards the office, your coworkers scrambling to not get caught staring.

you didn’t mind, just smiled as you reached into your lunch bag and retrieved a sandwich. the one that was cut perfectly into the shape of a heart.
