Hi, OP here --I am actually also a therapist!

This post was primarily made as a vent about needing to determine where my spoons were going, specifically while job hunting and later having to adjust to my first full time position. I am also an artist, and realizing that it severely impacted the time and energy I had previously dedicated to creative pursuits hit me pretty hard. Additionally, at the time of this post being made, a lot of significant transitions were occurring in my social life and it was difficult not to feel like my new 40+ hour schedule was holding me back from the experiences I wanted to share with others. Things are better now, but it definitely took a chunk of time to adjust!

I do appreciate this addition, and considering the state of my notes I'm sure a lot of people who are interacting with this post need to hear it. Unfortunately this is another one of those instances where a vent/joke blew up and has been removed from its specific, personal context. It's always a little tricky when that happens, especially whenever it comes to more negative statements, and trust me when I say that if I could personally message half of the people in my notifications in response to the stuff they've been adding to this post, I would.

i’ve heard a lot of people say “don’t reach out to your friends first and see how many people will remain in your life. those are your true friends” and i get it. it sucks and it’s tiring constantly being the one to message first, to initiate hang outs but don’t take this so literally. some friendships require initiation. i have lost touch with so many people who genuinely cared about me and wanted me in their life because i stopped reaching out. it’s a hard pill to swallow but honestly some people just suck at it and it doesn’t mean they don’t love and value you. i’ve reconnected with some people over the past few months and it’s crazy how genuinely happy they are to see me and how engaged they are in the conversation. i just think sometimes we’re too harsh on each other & too quick to emphasize other peoples flaws and remove them from our lives but then we’ll all be alone and what’s the point of life then!!!!

One of the best things about transformers one in my opinion is that Optimus prime and megatron come from the same place. In every other continuity there is a power imbalance between them Orion pax always has better social standing then d-16/megatron. And I love that in tfone they show that you don’t have to come from differing social standings to have different ideals.its not the fact that Orion pax came from the higher castes then megatron it’s the fact that he’s just a good person who is hurt by sentinels betrayal but that doesn’t make him compromise his moral standing. D-16 is letting the anger rule him and is making him blind to anyone but himself. He’s constantly referring to his hurt and how sentinel betrayed him. Where Orion is worried about the people not just himself. he whanted the people to be-able to have their own choice. And in the movie he is just some guy he’s not alpha trions student he’s not an enforcer he’s not a free dock worker. He is there in the mines with d-16 he doesn’t just here about or help deal with the problems of the lower castes he’s living it he’s right there in the thick of it and still him and megatron go septet ways because Optimus prime is for the people. Megatron is not.

had some time to think and watch people watch the minecraft movie trailer, and i think I've realized my main gripe with it. out of all the directions they could have chosen, why did they go with the one they did???

like. okay. i watched both phil and mumbo watch the trailer who had very different and opposite thoughts. i think mumbo was right in that it seems like it's trying to be an absurd, camp, and silly movie that makes fun of itself. the style (how ever mismatched) leans into that and the humor seems to go in that direction. and I think for what it's trying to be (camp, absurd, making fun of itself), it will probably be an okay movie! the focus won't be on minecraft, it will be on the minecraft world, if that makes sense. the look and mechanics over the feel and vibe.

on the other hand. i hate that they chose this direction. minecraft is such a game of stories, of the hidden stories, of what you make of the mysterious and wonderful world around you. you have the end poem. you have the music. you ha e the ruins. you have new expiernces and wonder and fear. yes it's a big world, but it also feels small. it's just you! in this abandoned and recovering world. and it loves you.

it just feels like that whole aspect of the game doesn't matter here. it's just the surface level appearance, mechanics, and look of the game. it honestly feels more like minecraft legends than normal minecraft, but even then it's missing the whimsy of legends.

yes it looks bad. yes it has like four different art styles. I think for what they're trying to do it will be Okay at best. but what it could've been. that's the real loss. It could've been about nostalgia. about love. about the universe. about making your own world with your own hands. about the quiet emptiness left behind you now have to live in. those raw experiences that won't be considered. whatever
