okay, this post is in reference to the previous post i made about ft genetics (i am gonna try to post the entire thing as a post instead of adding things in tags)

lucy: no matter who you ship her with, this girl's first child is gonna be a carbon copy of her. if you've noticed all the heartfilia women are almost the same. i don't care what mashima created nashi as, she's gonna be a carbon copy of lucy for me. maybe her second child (if she can have a second one after her daughter) might have features from the father or her own father. lucy has dominant as fuck genes. her child is 100% getting her magic too. the heartfilia women (in my hcs) can only birth one child. due to the dominant nature of their magic, their child is gonna have celestial spirit magic and the rarity of means to perform celestial spirit magic causes them to birth only one child.

natsu: he has recessive as fuck genes. due to the first generation dominant nature of his dad's genes, he got his pink colouring, his child's gonna have a higher probability of looking like zeref with some of his features than looking like him. i hc that all the first gen dragon slayer magic users do not have an innate type of magic. like all the people in earthland, they can hold etharino in their body. but due to the era they come from, their bodies aren't evolved to store less amount of etharino, making it easier for them to learn dragon slayer magic. his child is 100% gonna be having the mother's magic. and they're gonna be part demon, causing their body to store higher amounts and different types of etharino, so they're gonna be insane strong no matter what type of magic they're gonna be having.

gray: his colouring is dominant, but his physique is recessive. his children are gonna like the men of his partner's side of family. his magic can be learnt by his children, but it'll most probably blend in with his partner's magic when it comes to their child. his type of magic depends on who is partner is, unlike lucy who's magic is 100% gonna transfer and natsu's who's magic is 100% not going to.

juvia: her colour palette is 100% recessive, unless her partner has hidden recessive genes, her colour palette isn't gonna show at all. her magic is dominant though. like lucy's magic, her magic also alters a gene in the body. (other magic types depend of the type of etharino they surround themself with at a younger age)

erza: girl has insane dominant genes. idc idc what you say. her body is as devolved as natsu's and other first gen dragon slayers. she was carried in her (dragon) mother's womb for 400 years, causing her to have an upper hand in the amount of magic present in her body. she has insane reserves and they're 90% gonna pass to her kids. her magic isn't gonna pass to her kids either. her magic needs insane amount of reserves, which her children aren't going to have. is she's gonna have children w ppl that aren't 1st gen dragon slayers, their magic is gonna be insane wonky in the first few years. her child is also gonna be a ¼ part dragon. i hc that irene blocked her dragon characteristics, which was lifted for her children. she'll probably carry her child for 15 months (longer time due to extreme intelligence evolved crossbreed mammal reptile incubation). she is gonna want to 100% have kids btw. i also hc that her first child is gonna look like her dad rather than her or her partner.

jellal: boy's genes are insane dominant. so is his magic. his children are 100% gonna get his magic. his physique too. his hair colour though... also his tattoo is linked with his magic, causing his children to have the entire tattoo.

gajeel: his magic isn't gonna be passed down. at all. his children are gonna be strong though. his altered genes due to usage of magic is gonna cause a difficult pregnancy for his partner. unlike natsu, he isn't a part demon, causing his child to have difficulty in absorbing magic from his mother. he's also going to be drawing high amounts of magic due to the etharino absorbtion of the older unevolved human. his child will get his physical featured though. his body is also kinda related to his wife's genes. his child will get his physique if his wife's genes are recessive, or blend with them if any other.

levy: her genes are average. her magic is a learned magic. anyone whose body can store higher than usual amounts of etharino can learn her magic, causing her kids to be able to learn her magic if they want to. her physique is regressive. her colour palette will blend in with her partner's in their children.

idk don't y'all think if Elain & Lucien were really so perfectly suited for each other - someone would've noticed and voiced that in the books? Don't you think one of her sisters –the people closest to Elain – would've said that?

Wow - doesn't that sound crazy? That the people in the books that are closest to Elain have not said anything about how Elain and Lucien are actually suited for each other?

People said that about Feysand. About Nessian.

But about Elucien? All Nesta does is snarl in Lucien's presence and protect Azriel's secret of having feelings for Elain. All Feyre does is imagine how handsome Elain & Azriel would be together and note how awkward the teas with Elain & Lucien are.

People love to quote how "of course Elain will fall in love with him! SJM included that tidbit about Autumn males fucking like fire!!" -> Except the very next sentence is Feyre cringing at the thought of Elain being subject to that fire.

"Subject" - like it's a punishment.

Every single observation about Elucien has been about how they don't work. How they're ill-suited for one another. How there's no chemistry. How it's awkward.

Why the Fuck are the READERS putting in all this extra work to string together some shoddy evidence that Elain & Lucien will end up together? Why aren't the main characters in the books commenting on that couple in any positive light??

Because they are for Azriel & Elain. It's extremely obvious and unsubtle, yes, but that's SJM. She's predictable. And everything she has set up so far has been in favor of Elriel.

So idk why the readers are out here trying to prove something the main characters in the books haven't even bothered to support.

Man, I hope the emoji guy in the posters of the sitcom Bible is gonna play in IS Jes, because I think Bible is gonna be a cringe fail nerd who tries to be cool: one poster has him a pilot* costume, the other him in glasses with a handheld game console looking excited... with his zipper undone, and I need them to play another cringefail couple, 4 Minutes can NOT be the end of them together.

* As someone who works in an airport and so encounters pilots frequently, they are pretty ordinary and kinda boring. Cabin CREWS on the other hand... I never encountered a flight attendant I didn't wanna kiss, tbh

I've heard - but this isn't confirmed just like something I read on twitter so huge grain of salt - that BOC hadn't officially cast anyone for that sitcom role so the guy was just a stand-in.

I COULD speculate that the guy is/was Jes b/c this was - I think? - before he was officially announced as part of BOC/cast in 4Mins.

Idk if I'll watch b/c honestly comedy isn't my thing but I do love that BOC continues to try a wide variety of series, so I love the idea of a sitcom/comedy show for the studio (especially with their new actresses KT is so crush worthy man have y'all seen her kickboxing videos? whew) plus it'll be cool to see Bible further stretch his acting muscles. Comedy will be totally new for him which makes me really excited for him as an actor.

I would love to see Jes and Bible work together again, I know they were asked about it in an interview if they could do another series together what they'd like to do:

In the same interview they elaborate; Bible said he think Jes would play a great villainous char so he'd want to see that, while Jes said something with race cars b/c Bible loves F1.

Idk if Jes is ~officially~ apart of BOC on his Insta he does have BOC listed as his work contact so there's that. But I know he's still working with One31.

Personally I like the idea of the BOC actors doing both but I also dislike studio systems along with this idea that BL series are "lesser than" lakorns (this attitude is prevalent in western fandom too stop it please).

Either way I'd love to see them in a new series together, they're both strong actors and acting against Jes made Bible better.

My dream series from BOC would be a fantasy series, since they're the only Thai studio I could see investing money in such a project - Idol Factory came close with The Sign and I adore The Sign but it was half fantasy still great tho!

That or an assassins show cause I can already tell The Heart Killers is more squeecore/romcom than true blue assassins/hired killers and I have no interest in that.

i, as the player, am able to recognize that a guy who is an assassin who turned against his former employer and is now cooperating with you is a huge liability and should not be trusted, but miffy just sees him and goes "oh that's my evil bestie!!! ^_^" (this being said i LOVE Geiger also but he is. definitely not the most trustworthy guy LOL)

the other answer is probably the Matriarch? who is the Greater Voidsent who Miffy has made a pact with

in Miffy's defense, folks on the Tenth shard don't know as much about The Thirteenth/The Void as ppl from The Source, so her naivete is more understandable. it definitely would be nice if she has lucked out in making a pact with one of the few Voidsent who don't just want to kill her once she wears out her usefulness!!! but it's equally likely that that's not the case lol

'your beauty never ever scared me' tidbits (part 1/???)

Hey y'all! I was going to write more for this AU, but AO3 is apparently down rn?? So here are just some thoughts and stuff about this series instead. (There are some NSFW bits, just so y'all know).

As previously stated, Alcina is trans femme in this series. However, she's at a point in her transition where dysphoria isn't really a thing she experiences anymore?? Like, we all been knew she's confident to the point of arrogance, and even if somebody were to openly misgender her (which would probably get them killed lbr) she would be more faintly annoyed/coldly amused than anything. She would probably still retaliate ofc, that's just who she is (and she has an image to maintain).

Like I said before, Reader is AFAB but gender-neutral. So it's up to you if they're a cis woman, trans man, or AFAB enby. However, in the case of the latter two, Alcina would NOT take Reader being misgendered lying down, and would probably react much more harshly toward whoever was doing it, unless Reader was to intervene.

Also, in this series, she secretly had some difficulty learning to sign at first. Like, she has huge hands. But once she saw how happy Reader was that she was learning, she immediately doubled down, to the point where she became fluent surprisingly quickly.

Reader's cane was actually a joint effort between Donna and Karl. Donna supplied the wood from her garden, while Karl put it together and made the claw-rose charm. Alcina didn't mind asking Donna for help, but she really had to swallow her pride to ask Karl.

Alcina is actually kind of nervous about accidentally infantilizing Reader, due to their disabilities. She's good about not doing it, but that doesn't stop her from secretly being anxious that she'll slip up one day and offend them.

Reader is actually Alcina's first serious love. Like, she has had crushes and loved people non-romantically before, but this is her first time really being IN love. It takes her a bit to realize that that's what she's feeling though (and she internally panics a bit when she does), since she's never really been close to anyone outside of Miranda and the other Lords before. She's determined to do it right, though.

When she was a human, Alcina had a bad relationship with her family. They were not accepting of her transition and were the type to demonize her for being attracted to women, but still wouldn't want her to be into men either bc she's AMAB.

She eventually gets to a point where she becomes pretty domestic with Reader, something they are all too happy about.

Alcina also really wants to have kids with Reader at some point, she thinks that they would be an amazing parent. Eventually, they do have Bela, Cassandra, and Daniela.

As for Miranda and the other Lords, they're all less evil (as mentioned previously). Miranda for instance is still trying to bring Eva back, but is not doing so by trying to kidnap other people's children this time.

Miranda and the Lords all genuinely care about and love each other as family in this series. Even if some would prefer not to admit it (Alcina and Karl). They all kind of found each other when they didn't have anyone else, so it's very much a found family type situation.

In the beginning of their relationship, Alcina had a hard time being convinced that Reader wasn't afraid of her. However, for Reader, it was something close to love at first sight.

NSFW: As an unexpected result of her Cadou, Alcina now has ruts and a knot (like in an omegaverse setting). She can and does enjoy sex outside of her ruts, but when she is in one, she's nearly insatiable. She gives great aftercare though!

NSFW: Has a lot of kinks, but would never pressure Reader with them. of course. However, if Reader shows interest in them, then that's another story entirely.

NSFW: These kinks include (but are not limited to): BDSM, mommy kink, breeding/pregnancy, blood (obvi), marking, pet play, cockwarming, wife kink (idk what else to call it but she loves when Reader calls her their wife, it really turns her on).

So despite being an anime only that braves the paths of tumblr, I haven't been spoiled for anything big for Spy x Family… but that could very likely be because I'm guessing there isn't something big that has happened yet. By big I mean identity reveals, a character dying, twiyor kissing, idk, there's a lot of things that could happen and make the fandom change the way they speak and refer to the story.

But as I have been spoiled for a few things, I know that chapter 100 is a little around the corner, and with it being a big and important number, I don't doubt something big might happen in it. Honestly my guess is an accidental/impulsive twiyor kiss that just shakes them both and makes things more awkward because it would make Loid realize he has feelings and because of that he cannot pursue a relationship with Yor because it would be taking advantage of her, but really, it could be anything.

So with that in mind, I will actually have to take bigger measures. I blocked any spoiler tags from the beginning, but with the possibility of bigger spoilers coming, I'll have to filter any and all tags related to sxf. Ranging from main tags to character and ship tags.

I mean, I already wasn't seeing much. I wasn't visiting the tags, but now and then tumblr suggested posts from the tags and I would see a tidbit of a spoiler. But now I won't be able to see anything and it will really be me screaming into the void and the DMs of a few pals who know to be careful and not mention any spoilers.

That said, this might make me feel even more isolated, so I openly encourage people to send me fanart, memes, metas, gifsets, anything they find interesting and are sure don't include any spoilers. There's a bit of a hesitation, though, because when I first joined a discord server which I then left due to, you guessed it, spoilers, two different people suggested to me two different fanfics and said "Don't worry, they don't include any spoilers!" and what do you know, both included spoilers. I don't blame them since manga readers may have a harder time remembering what constitutes manga spoiler and what does not, especially if it's from a much older chapter, but it still made me very hesitant to reach out to anyone about that.

I'm not pressuring anyone nor demanding from anyone to do this. Just saying that, if you find something that's interesting and doesn't include any spoilers, and if you care to spare the time to send it to me, I'd appreciate it.

Anyway, just letting y'all know, or anyone who cares, that I'm really closing myself off of the fandom. I might even have to train myself to not look at users' avatars anymore. I really don't want any big revelations to be spoiled for me in that manner.

Hector completely biffed his attempt at an animal handling check, but did roll a Nat 20 on survival which allowed him to back the fuck up and not engage in combat (which his companions all approved of, presumably because it means they did not become owlbear food).

IMPORTANT DEVELOPMENT however - when Karlach leveled up, she took the Wildheart barbarian subclass which, among other things, gives her (trumpet fanfare) Speak with Animals! (Once a day.)

Unfortunately, no one in the party has a very good charisma score and hers is not top of the pack, but we'll give it a go.

The owlbear once again goes into a defensive stance as they approach - but this time, Karlach can hear its voice resonating in her head along with the clicking of its beak.

"What's this? Something weak...something tender... Won't even have to chew you before I feed you to my son, softmeat."

(A/N: And she comes precooked too!)

With the ability to communicate, even if all the communication so far is threats, Karlach is able to draw a little closer - and identify why the creature is so agitated.

"You're injured. There's still half a *spear* lodged in your head."

Acknowledging this, however, does not improve the owlbear's disposition. "It's a splinter. I've gutted bigger threats than you with worse."

OK this isn't working. Reload. (Some googling indicates that without the Animal Handling check or killing the momma owlbear we're not going to get anywhere.) Once again I end up using an inspiration on gaining animal friends and I'm okay with this. :P

(I can't wait to do a druid playthrough, bc I am going to speak with animals ALL THE TIME. XD )

This was an extremely challenging battle and I'm honestly pretty proud of us for making it through. No sign of the owlbear cub though, so we'll take a long rest (which after that we really needed anyway).

(And then a whole bunch of stuff happened involving Astarion and blood which we will get to in another post because wow.)

Also adorable: basically everyone in camp INCLUDING ASTARION approved when I brought it some food. Lae'zel was the only one unmoved by the the small friendshaped ball of fluff.

It ate the food we offered it, and then scampered off into the woods when Shadowheart spoke and startled it.

One more long rest...we're investing a lot of camp supplies in this process. :P

Literally so many super practical accessories were replaced with elastane, and I mean so so many, but also different clothing design elements that are not only gorgeous, but super practical and also comfortable, were replaced by elastane, and now if you see those elements in clothes it's "aesthetic" and no one realizes the function these elements had.

Corsets and stays were the precursor to bras because they support breasts, but they had a different and arguably more important function: keeping up all those layers of skirts and petticoats. The whole corsets cause injury and deformity thing is a total myth by the way, I mean modern mass produced corsets probably cause injuries because they're ill-fitted but back in the day they were fitted to your body, not sewn off of pattern blocks. They were pretty damn comfortable, if you wanted to tight lace it was about as uncomfortable and harmful as really tight shape wear or pants, and any injury caused was similar to wearing a chest binder for too long.

Mostly what corsets did was distribute the weight of your skirts and petticoats from your waist across your pelvis, which if you've gone hiking before you'd know that backpacks have a strap across the hips for the same reason, which is that redistributing weight like that takes it off your core and onto your legs which are typically much stronger. But you don't want your skirts to start on your hips because they'll ride down all the time.

Smocking is another thing, when I discovered it (I was browsing through a huge open source database of traditional skills and trades with antique training materials that I've since lost) that I went HOLY SHIT! because not only can it he incredibly incredibly gorgeous and intricate, seriously go look at smocking patterns on pinterest you'll go insane, they were the elastic trims of clothes before elastane. Pleats? Yeah functional. In several different ways too! Pleats serve as a way to shape garments, to give them volume and help them lay in a way that's elegant and comfortable, but they're also sometimes there to make clothes adjustable. You ever see those vintage shirts that have vertical pleats all along the front panels? Yeah those were there so a single item of clothing could be taken in or let out easier as humans naturally fluctuate in size. Was it their main function? Idk probably but it was a function and an incredibly useful one!

Lacing has been making a comeback in fashion these last few years and I think y'all can guess the purpose of it easily enough, it's pretty obvious, making sure your clothes are snug as a bug without having to take it in or let it out every time you lose or gain weight or get bloated or take a huge dump. You also typically don't have to tailor clothes if it has lacing panels, because those are responsible for the fitted look, and if the creases under the laces bother you, you can get or make a little panel that goes between the laces and the fabric. I forget what it's called, but it was used with stays iirc to both provide extra support to the front and make everything seem neater, though it's entirely likely I'm remembering this tidbit wrong so if you have the correct information you're welcome to correct me.

Gloves used to be such a societal norm that there were codes for which types to wear in which settings, what fabric signified the class you were in, and wealthy people used to literally just toss a pair and buy a new one if they got dirty or damaged apparently. Now we mostly wear them as protection when working manual labor or crafts, or from the elements, or in medical settings.

Gloves have more uses than you'd think though, and I personally would love to see a resurgence of gloves in popular fashion. Gloves protect you from the cold sure, but they also protect you from the sun, from disease, from injury. I have a pair of lacy fingerless gloves just for driving because in the summer months my steering wheel gets so hot I can't touch it with my bare hands, and the backs of my hands almost always get sun while driving, so I figured why not get a little protection from both and look elegant as fuck while doing it? It worked! And I look elegant as fuck doing it.

Head scarves are a bit of a doozy, much like masks, because of the cultural associations with both. Masks obviously due to the pushback in the last few years due to enforced covid measures, but head scarves due to racism. Y'all remember those vintage pinups with women wearing head scarves and victory rolls (I think that's what it's called)? Yeah they wore them because they had to take over manual labor during the war and their hair kept getting in the way. Later we developed better headbands and pins and they became more in fashion, and then women were all forced to be housewives where stronger hold and protection wasn't necessary, and then when we entered the workforce again we had gel and mousse and hairspray and elastic hair ties.

Head scarves not only keep your hair out of your face, they also protect intricate styles (whether longer term protective styles or shorter term styles for specific events). Ask any black person why they wear a bonnet (in good faith) and you'll get a delightfully detailed explanation, which includes but isn't limited to the fact that it protects their braids, locks and hair in general. That's because it reduces friction on the scalp and hairstrands which often leads to scalp irritation, breakage and hair loss.

You wanna know how head scarves help on finer, straighter hair textures? When the wind threatens to destroy your million pin and half a can of hairspray updo, you tie your scarf up over it loosely, and boom your updo is safe. I've used it a couple of times before going to fancy events, and gotten a lot of looks because they're all conservative white Christians (I grew up around them didn't have a choice) and they were uncomfortable with it looking a little (but not really at all) like a hijab.

There is so much gorgeous, intricate and beautifully useful history to fashion, and people seem to really take it for granted due to fast fashion and consumerism and planned obsolescence. There's so so much you can do to make your clothes fit better, look better, be more comfortable, have more function, and I truly wish everyone had the opportunity and resources to learn about these things.

You know what, since I'm thinking about it anyways, let's talk formalwear accessories. Most of these are traditionally menswear but a bit of gender fuckery is good for the soul, and frankly most of these are about making your mass-produced clothing fit and lay properly without having to go to the tailor.

Shirt stays: these go around your thighs to hold your shirt down, so that it stays smooth and tucked in. They're usually elastic, with 1-3 clips, and if you wear skirts frequently this is a GREAT way to make sure your top doesn't ride up. The clips will be visible if you're wearing something tight, so loose pants or skirts are where these do best. There's also an insane version that clips to your socks, but that is for lunatics. If you wanted, you could also use one of these clips to hold up thigh-highs.

These do a great job of smoothing and narrowing the waist area by keeping your shirt from bunching there.

Sleeve garters: usually metal, leather, elastic, or silk. These are usually worn with button-down shirts to adjust where your cuff falls on the wrist or hand. They're properly worn on the upper arm, and you pull the fabric of the sleeve above the garter until you cuff is where you want it. Because this creates a puff of sleeve at the bicep, it also broadens the appearance of the shoulders. It's great if you're working with your hands or if your sleeves are often too long for your preference.

Waistband clip or belt adjustment clip/buttons

Three different ways of tightening the waistband of a pair of pants or a skirt. You're not going to get more than an inch or so tighter without weird bunching, and for most of these you'd want them to be hidden under a shirt or jacket, but they do the job if that's something you're having issues with.

Collar pins: There are so many fun ones out there, both with and without chains. They're not terribly practical, though the slight weight may help keep your collar where you want it. Also consider collar tips, which pin (surprise) to the very tips of your collar points.

Sweater clips/guards: meant to hold your sweater or cardigan mostly closed. Great if your cardigan doesn't button, or if you don't like it to be buttoned all the way.

There's tons of other stuff out there like this--etsy is a great place to find this stuff. A lot of these are old solutions to the very modern problem of mass-maufactured clothes not being as one-size-fits-all as advertised, but they're also a fun way to put a bit of personality into businesswear.

I realized that my username can be misleading and I think I touched on it when I first started writing but I don't really plan on writing anything Star Wars related for now but R2 is still my favorite little robot so idk! So this is one of those oc posts I warned y'all about. I'll give a little context so you understand.

Trigger Warning for child abuse. Shiori's dad is not a good man.

My husband has an agenda. Specifically with Shiori, my Naruto oc. His agenda is that he ships her more with Kakashi than Guy (he's neutral about the Jiraiya ship because he can't refute their chemistry).

The tidbit of context is that Shiori has scars all over her face. Her father did it for stupid delulu reasons, and his goal was to make it so no one would want to marry her. She hasn't shown her face in public for twenty(ish) years. She wears a full mask all the time. Now, Shiori will eventually come face to face with her father again.

They're going to fight. She is going to kick his ass.

I was thinking out loud to my husband on the way home from work today and mentioned that at the end of the fight, I'm considering her slashing up his face like he did hers.

Me: I feel like Guy would stop her and urge her to be the bigger person and Jiraiya... idk... he'd either let it happen and hold her after or, like Guy, urge her to be the bigger person. Hard to tell.

I know hardcore Leyren fans see some kind of plan but their storyline last season left a sour taste in a lot of peoples mouths(mine included but I personally felt like everyone was written OOC so I don’t even blame the characters like it’s just terrible,terrible,terrible writing. I mean giving Lauren money in a paper bag? What the actual fuck lmao. But yeah let’s say things go the hopeful route. Maybe Leyla asks Lauren to try again? Idk how that would be surprising unless they’re in a really bad place the entire episode though. Also, it’s been a year and a half(Luna was 3, she’s 5 now)and Lauren hasn’t found a place yet? let me just say, i emphatically agree with all of you about how disappointing it was that they wrote leyla out that way. i don't think the time between s4 and s5 was a long as 1.5 years, likely a couple of months. but agreed, leyla is allowed to date whoever she wants but did she have to bring the woman back to the apartment that belongs to her ex-gf who she knows is still in love with her 😭 doesn't this lady have her own place y'all can go to 😭 leaving that moment as the last time we physically see leyla too??? the next tidbit we get is that her visa cleared and she moved out and also transferred residency to a different hospital in NYC. it felt so sweeping things under the rug and move along for a relationship between two characters that spanned almost half the lifetime of the show. at least floyd and evie got a proper, even if melancholy, goodbye. i agree that if this was going to be the way they played it out, should've just left things at 4x22 and start 5x01 with leyla written out offscreen. the writers really did their best to leave us with a bitter taste in our mouths as a last impression of her character smh.

also how am i suppose to believe that leyla shinwari, who was always so conscious to be careful and respectful of lauren's apartment, the space that leyla once was part of the beginning of building a life there together, is now fine and dandy bringing over a new woman to the place that she knows she's staying as a guest??? i could've lived with this if they had kept her character around and actually let them slowly repair the foundation of their relationship through working together in the ED. but alas. then to throw salt in the wound, that interview from schulner after the episode that was just like 'yeah nvm the bribe irrevocably fucked them up.' like fuck off dog then what was the point of us going through the back half of s4 and the shitty mess that spiraled from that 😭???? you know what, maybe it's actually a small blessing that the writers didn't approach leyren getting back together in the finale episodes of the series. god knows how they would've fucked that up. i just hate that they fucked up canon so much that the fanfic writers lost all motivation to even do a fix it 😔✊

Okay y'all, I see a lot of people listing off various t-word scenes in movies/books, yet they always somehow manage to leave out my favorites?? Like does nobody know they exist or something?

Well anyway. I'm here to fix that.

There is a really good one in Love Comes Softly (the movie, idk if it's the same in the book), and I can't give a timestamp cause I haven't watched it in forever, but it's after Marty has had her baby. A short chase scene, then the magic happens.

The Vow, and oml this movie is a gold mine. A literal. Gold mine. The best ones happen within the first fifteen - twenty minutes (if I'm remembering correctly), and last several seconds. Here's a mind blower - it is openly said that Paige (the girl that receives it) likes to be tickled, so her husband does it often. I was so happy, even though my mom was in the same room, like I could barely contain the euphoric laughs I wanted to release while watching it.

Liar Liar. Yes, the Jim Carrey movie. There's a short one at some point in the beginning (again, haven't watched it in years but these scenes stay in my memory), in which a father pulls out "The Claw" and gives his son a good laugh, and right before the credits roll, it's heavily implied that tickling is happening behind the walls of the house we can no longer see.

RV, and this is pretty similar to Liar Liar, in which case a dad is shown tickling his kid - a little girl - this time. If I recall, it doesn't last more than a couple of seconds, but still cute all the same.

Pixar - A Bug's Life, Toy Story, Up, Inside Out, Ratatouille, Cars 2. If I'm leaving any out, please let me know. Most of these are brief (what one would probably expect) but I wrote them down anyway.

Disney - Jungle Book, Beauty and the Beast, Little Mermaid 3, Alice In Wonderland, Lilo & Stitch, Tarzan 1 and 2, The Rescuers: Down Under, Bridge To Terabithia, etc. This kinda bums me out, as Disney often included tickle scenes in their movies back then, but they don't anymore. At least we have nice ones to look back on!

Annihilation, and this is honestly one of my all-time favorites. There's only one, from what I remember, but it's so good! Basically Natalie Portman and her hubby are laying in bed together, and (I think?) she says some sassy remark and it prompts him to tickle her.

Coraline. So the producers actually included this scene in the trailer, and I was probably eleven the first time I saw it. The moment I did, I was urging my family "yeah, it looks like a good movie! Let's watch it!" so we did. It was awesome. Also, I will shamelessly admit that I want my own Snap Dragons.

My Little Pony. Okay, I know this isn't a movie or book, but it's still worth mentioning, most notably  "The Magic Duel", "Just For Sidekicks", and "It's About Time".

Ride the Wind by Lucia St. Claire Robinson. This book is absolutely full of beautiful tickle scenes, and if you're willing to deal with the tragedy and brutal nature of its characters' culture, you will be pleasantly surprised. My favorite one happens over the halfway mark, but there are plenty to keep you satisfied 'til then :) Just keep in mind that this story is not a light-hearted one, so if you decide to read it, prepare to sob. A lot.

Dragon Tails. This is another children's show that would showcase tickling a lot. In every other episode, I'd say - there was even one about actual tickle monsters, and one that had a flower that tickled you, so that was a gleeful time for my kid self.

This one is exceedingly random and I swear I just remember tidbits because I was like four, but there is a short scene in ‘Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Movie’. I literally have no clue when, or where, or who it happens to, but I know it does happen. That was like half the reason I was so obsessed with that movie when I was little XD

Be More Chill, the recording with the original cast. It’s like a two-second scene but I swear it looks like Michael reaches over and tickles Jeremy, hence why the latter reels away the way he does. I’m unconvinced it’s anything less than that, and maybe that’s just cause I’m obsessed with the idea of Michael being a super physically affectionate (yet still mischievous) lil’ bean, but I digress. This is the video, and the timestamp is roughly 26:12. 

Little Monsters. Despite how stupid this movie may be, it was still a large portion of my childhood, and I recently went back and watched it. I rediscovered a very solid tickle scene that I somehow never recalled between Brian and his father. It was very cute and I was pleasantly surprised. It’s around the first half, I think? When Brian stays in Eric’s room the first time.

Does anyone remember that holiday Barbie movie? The one where Kelly doesn’t wanna go to a charity ball cause she wants to spend Christmas Eve at home instead and her big sis tells her all these old stories to lift her spirit? Well anyway. at the VERY beginning of the movie, she’s hiding, and Barbie sneaks up behind her and gives her a playful tickle. I remember it specifically, because I watched it on repeat when I was a kid with the dopiest grin on my face. It was the simplest scenes that made me the happiest lol. Barbie In A Christmas Carol was the name of it.

These are all I can think of at the moment, though I will probably be adding more eventually! It just annoyed me how so many great scenes were being missed out on because nobody remembered/knew about them. So here they are! I hope I informed you~
