Your dorm room matched your personality somehow, and then again, it didn’t. 

It had posters, a TV, and a bookshelf filled with figures from your favorite mangas, decorative sculptures everywhere, and classic LEDs. Your room seemed to also have a main color, which was black. Though it managed to maintain some color. 

Thank the gods you had cleaned your room when you finished eating, because if you hadn’t it would’ve been very much flammable. You usually wouldn’t be worried about it, but since someone who has quite a destructive quirk turned up to your dorm demanding to be let in, you felt relieved.

A low, calming rhythm played on your speaker as you reviewed your slides. An herbal incense flooded your senses as you relaxed. You were so calm that you almost forgot Bakugou was next to you.

“Hey, I think you forgot to add my quirk’s drawbacks.” You flatly spoke. You never looked away from your laptop as your brows furrowed in utter concentration. You moved your hair out your face, slightly fanning yourself as you breathed out short huffs. You closed your balcony doors and turned your fan off to have your incense earlier, which you may have regretted.

Bakugou held back a long groan as he added another slide. “Tell me what they are.” He grumbled in a stale tone. He wanted to plug his nose and ears since he wasn’t used to such a strong smell. While you explained your quirk drawbacks and the reason for them, he cut you off in the middle of the sentence to ask,

“Is that a Rob Zombie poster?” 

Your head perked up in acknowledgment as you lost focus due to your zeal. Does he like Rob Zombie? Am I dreaming right now? “Uh, yeah.. do you--do you not like him?” You stammered out. A pang of shame ran through you, he was just a boy with a bad temper. There’s no point in being so scared.

“Why else would I be asking about it?!” He yelled, which put a beaming smile on your face. “Sorry! You don’t—I mean, you just surprised me!” You quickly explained, “I can play some of his songs, or you could just put your own playlist on my speaker.”

You took his phone and connected it to the speaker which temporarily paused your music, and handed it back to him which he aggressively snatched. Once he finally picked a playlist after scrolling endlessly, you actually ended up having similar music tastes. “I never took you for someone who liked a lot of rock bands, but for some reason, I’m not that surprised.” You played with the bracelets on your wrists as you admitted the last part of your sentence.

Bakugou took note of this and took his fingers off his keyboard. “You’ve learned something new then.” He shut his laptop and put his study supplies in the bag. Your voice made him pause for a moment. “Could you uh, send me the playlist? You don’t have to, I just like your taste.” 

He set his bag down and looked at you. “Give me your phone number.” He abruptly said, taking you off guard. “Huh?!” 

“I need your number to send the link, dumbass!” He snatched your phone out of your hands and made a new contact of himself. He didn’t even bother giving it a name. He kept muttering words you couldn’t make out, so you felt a little scared. When he stood, you quickly called out a thank you which he acknowledged with a small wave before closing your door.

At the sound of your door closing, you just sat there processing what happened. A smile didn’t leave your face and you didn’t feel any shame to force it to go away. Days like this were unusual for someone like you. Being on good terms with the most hot-headed student at UA. It’s best to say you had a peaceful sleep that night.

For once you had hope for your school life. Maybe you could save your social life a little. But, of course, your desires seem impossible to reach once you return to class. 

Your head rested against your desk as one of your hands reached down to pull your tights down, then came back up to cover your ear. It seems today was a cheerful day for the others as you overheard many of them talking about how their project would get full scores for how lucky they were with their partners.

Then, there were the booming voices of annoying teenage boys. Especially Mineta. You felt like you should start wearing pants to school in fear of him crawling under your desk and violating you in every way possible. Is this what Hell is like? Am I in the deepest circle?

Thankfully the class had quieted down immediately when Aizawa burst through the Class 1-A doors that were ginormous for some apparent reason. His voice made your head lift up in a stalled manner, as you felt sluggish today. You had been skipping on your nightly skincare, so your eyebags were still a little noticeable. 

You set your head in your palm as you wrote what you could manage, but ended up dozing off near the last hours. Even with a good sleep, you still managed to be exhausted. It’s difficult to live. 

You and your mom had left your dad and moved to Musutafu. You had to take what you could get when you got accepted into U.A. Honestly, you felt envious of people such as Yaoyorozu and Aoyama. You never really bought from designer brands when times were rough, and your mother had to alternate jobs.

As school ends and you’re on your way back to the dorms, you decide to take a quick walk down to any convenience store you can find. You held onto the strap of your backpack as you walked into the closest one, your eyes scanning for some bento sets. 

Once your eyes had landed on them, you selected one and made sure you had enough money to spare after purchasing it. Usually, the cashier for this store was shitty and had an attitude for no reason. But of course, you didn’t know his life so you tried to not judge. 

Confusion took hold of your senses as you didn’t see any cashier there. Oh well. You placed half the amount the bento costs on the counter, not necessarily stealing it, but giving what you felt he deserved. You put the rest of your money in your backpack’s side pocket as you made your way back to your dorm. 

A long walk is an understatement. It felt like 10 years was what it took to walk up that hill, wiping your forehead constantly as short huffs came from your throat. You opened the door to the dorms and darted straight for the elevator. The cool air made you relax for a moment before a beep came, and your feet dragged you out.

You woke up as your eyes spotted a small pouch sitting in front of your door. What’s this?.. you mused for a minute before picking it up and opening the door, a sudden warmth hitting your skin as you reached for your fan. You shut the door behind you as you hurriedly sat on your bed to open it up.

You reached for a small note that was inside which read, “I don’t know how you handle that herbal shit, use this.” Oh, it came from Bakugou. Your hands found another item, a cylinder-shaped object that made your eyes brighten in excitement as you quickly pulled it out.

He got me incense! An expensive one at that, no way! You flipped the incense packaging around, which read ‘Kitowa’. 

You stood to turn your fan off and went to your nightstand to replace your current incense with the gifted one. Once your lighter’s flame had hit the tip of the incense stick, a light woody smell filled your room which made your body slump and release a huge breath you didn’t know you were holding.

I should send him a thanks, it’s the least I could do. You reached over for your phone and opened his contact. You quickly typed out a ‘thank you for the incense Bakugou! It smells really nice.’ and stared at your message for a moment. You were pondering over your own message, and also making the realization that you were nervous.

You were genuinely nervous and giddy at the same time to send this text. You got over it anyway and made haste to throw your phone across the bed before kicking your shoes off and face-planting into your pillow. You didn’t make an effort to change as you succumbed to the exhaustion.

A loud knock woke you up, your eyes didn’t open as you sat up, trying to process what was going on. Another loud knock sounds and your eyes shoot open. What the hell? “Coming!” you groan out as you stand from your bed. Stumbling over your shoes and bag you reach your door, opening the handle. You’re met with the face of Bakugou. Okay, I’m definitely awake now..

“Change your clothes. There’s dinner downstairs and you haven’t come down at all.” His jagged voice interrupted your thoughts. “Wait—whaaa?..” You muttered, rubbing your eyes. “Hurry up.” He grabs the handle and closes your door.

You’d be lying if you said you didn’t have the fattest grin on your face after he closed your door. You dug through your clothes, throwing on a pair of black sweatpants and a misfits band shirt. You grabbed your phone and stopped for a moment as you looked at the notification.

***: it's no problem 4:03 P.M.

***: where the hell are you? dinners been ready for 10 minutes come down 6:47 P.M.

He ended up coming to your dorm 5 minutes after he sent the last message. You put some socks on before opening your door up again, and you tried to swallow down the lump in your throat as you saw Bakugou with his back leaning against the wall, with his arms crossed.

His signature frown was still plastered across his face as his eyes set on you. “Move your feet faster, extra.” He rasped out, already heading for the elevator, you quickly followed behind and attempted to make an effort to hide the shock on your face.

He somewhat punched the common room button, and you flinched when he did.

He pressed the button to close the doors more gently.

The ride down was a bit awkward, but you found comfort in the silence. Once the doors had opened, you walked out behind him. He grabbed your wrist suddenly and leisurely pulled you to his side as he kept walking, never letting go until you made it to the kitchen.

A few classmates noticed and pointed it out to the rest, as you lightly scratched the back of your neck in embarrassment. I guess I’d be staring too if I saw someone with such a bad temper hanging around me. you thought as you grabbed a bowl. “Get me one too.” Bakugou insisted, and you stopped for a second. Reaching your other hand up, you said, “You haven’t eaten yet?” as you grabbed the second bowl and set it down. 

“I’m just grabbing seconds,” He began to fill his bowl as he glanced at you. “Everyone’s already eaten. The losers are gonna do a movie night.” Your eyes lost their light at the sound of that. Of course, nobody told you. You drowned in your own dismal as you filled up your bowl with food. The smell made you feel slightly better, but it was nowhere near happy.

Once you were done, you turned to Bakugou. “Thanks for bringing me down, I’m just gonna head back upstairs.” You spoke in a brittle voice, and before you could reach the elevator you heard his footsteps coming from behind you. You could tell he made an effort to catch up.

He didn’t turn his eyes to you or offer an explanation after he pressed his floor's button, and didn’t allow you to go to yours. You frowned, “What’re you doing?” He finally looks at you. “Back to my dorm.”

whaa.. HUH?

“Wait—what?” You couldn’t process his sudden words as he took your wrist once more in his free hand, dragging you along with him to his dorm. He opened his door and ushered you to the bed before closing it.

You reluctantly sat down, as it was the second and only time you’d been in his dorm for any purpose other than school. He sighed as he sat down with his back against the bed frame, and pulled his laptop out from his bag.

“If you don’t sit next to me, you’re not gonna be able to watch the movie, you idiot.” His words made your ears blaze with heat and you carefully scooted next to him, making sure not to spill any food. “Got anything you wanna watch?” He asked as he took a bite of the hotpot.

“Hmm.,” Your eyes drifted to the side as you thought, “What about The Florida Project?” You suggested, “It’s not on Netflix, we’d probably have to find a random website to watch it.” 

He smiled faintly, he’s seen that before and so have you. “I’m fine with that.” His tone was softer as he clicked away to find a website to watch the movie. As he pressed play you scooted a tiny bit closer to watch it.

Midway through the movie you both finished your bowls and made slight comments on every scene, and he evilly laughed at most of the sad scenes while you scolded him for it.

As the movie reached the end, you had been leaning against him with your head on his shoulder. He had one hand behind his head and the other resting against his thigh. You nearly cried.

As the movie finished, you fell asleep against him. He abandoned the movie a while ago, but not on purpose. He took a little time to think about you since you’d been running around his mind without consent anyway.

Not only were you pretty, but your personality seemed to be a calming point for him. You, yourself, seemed to tell him to chill. You liked similar things, and you introduced him to incense which he secretly had on his shelf, above his bed. He had also ended up putting in orders for a few new posters after seeing your room.

He took the chance of your sleeping state to quietly shut off his laptop and hesitantly reached his hand around your body to rest it on your hip. He rested his head against yours as he rubbed small circles on your skin.

You shifted a little and his heart jumped, not wanting you to think he was some sort of pervert. Bakugou was slightly sure that his classmates were asleep, so he decided to carry you back to your dorm.

You awoke the next morning in your bed, sluggishly rising up and stretching as your joints popped. 4:32 read the time, and you definitely couldn’t go back to sleep now. You decided to take the extra time and get ready for school.

You smoothed out your skirt as you took your seat, and this time you didn’t rest your head in your palm. You felt like you finally rested your body. Your eyes darted up as you heard a thud in front of you. It was.. Bakugou?

He crashed into the seat in front of you, putting his elbows on your desk and turning his body to you. “Let’s uh.. study at that new cafe that opened up.” He looked away as he huffed the words out, suddenly interested in the outside world.

Is he asking me on a date or something? “Oh.. I mean,” His heart dropped and his brows furrowed as you started to talk. He had doubts about you saying no, and it seemed they were coming true.

“Sure.. I was gonna ask you, actually.” You giggled, setting your hands on the desk as you tapped your nail occasionally against it. He turned back to you, and he had a genuine smile plastered across his face as he didn’t leave this time immediately. He stayed, and he talked with you.

And he would do it many, many more times.

My Random Takes on The Secret History (contains spoilers)

The biggest tragedy that comes with being Richard Papen coded is you need a group like Julian's Greek class to feel normal about yourself because the rest of the world makes you feel like a misfit.

That Richard and Camilla scene where she reveals being physically abused by Charles... I feel that scene is a strong criticism of abusive households. Like Richard was used to seeing his mother getting beaten by his father and sometimes he was also a victim of his violence. And in 'that' scene, he fantasizes about doing the same to Camilla and worse. This shows it's a never-ending cycle no matter how you see it. The kids are gonna end up developing fucked up fantasies if their exposure to fucked up things is constant.

I strongly believe Henry was gonna make Richard the scapegoat had something gone sideways. And honestly, it makes perfect sense. Richard insisted on joining their class. He was an outsider. Henry could have easily made up something like Richard was envious of their group, he was jealous of his and Bunny's closeness and so he ended up killing him, something along those lines that Richard wanted to be accepted and we would not accept him instantly, naturally because of our prior history. Knowing how Henry was good with words, he could have made Richard an obsessive, disturbed freak to the FBI for all we know. Remember how Henry saved him from getting frozen to death? This incident can be perfectly used to portray him as a mentally disturbed person who would rather freeze to death than go back to his home to a normal eye.

Now Julian. Oh, Julian I knew was the red flag the moment it was mentioned he does not accept students who have different ideas than his. But to think that fucker would turn out to be the biggest crankiest bitch?!! I mean I am soo mad he was the one who fed those Dionysiac ideas to them and in the end, he just ran away?! I was baffled by how he treated Henry during that confession scene he did not even listen to him completely... Henry does not stutter HE WAS STUTTERING and Julian shoved the letter back to him... I mean the disrespect! This scene (for me at least) was a reality check that no matter how loving, cool, caring, and impactful you might think your teacher is, at the end of the day, they are gonna be a teacher and you are gonna be just a student. It destroyed my heart when Henry said he loved Julian more than his own father 😭 The worst thing you can do is take advantage of the vulnerabilities of someone who not only respects you but also loves you dearly. This mf can move mountains and I would still hate his old rat ass!

Charles and Camilla Idek what to make of them. Charles turned from a pitiable character to an entirely disgusting one for me. I accept Francis' theory that he wouldn't have made that much fuss about his interrogating situation if Camilla and Henry weren't a thing. Remember when Camilla and Henry had some secret code and he got mad why he didn't know about it? I do think camilla and henry were always a thing before it became apparent to everyone. Besides the book is from Richard's perspective, and he does seem oblivious at times.

I am not aware of the popular takes in the fandom so I don't know if this is gonna be a hot take or not but Camilla gave pick-me-girl vibes. She did not have any girl friends and looked down upon Judy (I am not asking them to be besties exactly but a little respect won't have killed) Judy only developed a weird impression about them during that party scene when Camilla dropped her drink onto her and did not apologize (or was it the opposite? i dont remember exactly but the point is Judy is not the type to judge others for no reason...she judged them after that party) Camilla's attitude could be attributed to the fact that Charles was controlling but idk

Her gift to people is just her presence. She'd be the type to occasionally need quiet but wouldn't mind being in comfortable silence with someone she likes. I feel like quality time would be her way of showing she cares for someone.

The only canon part i can mention is that during his conversation with Ashlyn at the school he mentioned how since he moved around a lot he never really had a true bond with anyone.

"You seemed like the type to only get close with people who mean something to you."

So Aiden didnt just want someone he could feel attached to, he also wanted to feel cared for. Its a two way street with him.

While I could see him loving physical touch as I doubt he got enough of that as a child and he clearly loves being touchy with people I feel like with what we know I could argue really any love language. He'd probably take anything if it makes him feel cared for.

I found a picture of a chart saying "your love language may show what you lacked as a child" and he checked every box so he's fucked.

I ultimately want to settle with physical touch as he seemed shocked when Ashlyn initiated the hug likely due to being the one to always initiate them. Like above he probably just wants his efforts reciprocated.

I just imagine him being the type to be like "i know you like this" or "this reminded me of you". I feel like he wouldnt be the greatest at expressing it in many other ways so he resorts to getting people things.

Hes also pretty artsy so I can also just imagine him making people little things for them.

Im not too sure what his would actually be MAYBE quality time again similar to Taylors in the sense that he knows just how fast someone can lose their lives so he likely would appreciate someone wanting to actually spend time with him.

Why don't the prequels work as Vader's backstory? It's literally about how anyone no matter how good or well intentioned has the propensity for evil if they let themselves make bad decisions.

Narratively I think it's beautiful and tragic that way.

i think the prequels r actually about how corruption and manipulation and desperation and fear can ruin a person---not just bad decisions :3c and the prequels r consistent with some of the messaging of the originals in that way but that doesnt necessarily mean they serve as a good backstory

heres a handful of reasons why i dont think anakins back story really works with vader:

the originals imply that anakin and uncle owen are blood brothers or at least grew up together. owen sees anakin in luke and this is something that would only really be possible if owen knew anakin well as a teenager. this is also the reason why owen doesnt tell luke about the jedi; he thinks that luke will, like his father, run off to become some sort of war hero and die in the process bc thats what he thinks happened to anakin (some ppl think that owen suspects anakin became vader but i think this is a stretch). the prequels establish that they dont know eachother and didnt grow up together. owen doesnt know anakin outside of what he mightve seen in war/ republic propaganda and thats not very indicative of character. this also raises questions about why obiwan gave luke to owen/ why they took him in in the first place. it makes more sense for anakin and owen to have been very close bc then obiwan wouldve heard of owen and would genuinely trust him to raise his best friends son and owen wouldve cared enough about luke to raise him as his own

what we're led to believe in the originals is that anakin was a powerful jedi who lost sight of what he was fighting for. we're led to believe that he was torn, that the war corrupted him, that war isnt the answer. this works bc the originals r meant to be symbolic of the vietnam war (where the empire would be america) and so this idea of the consequences of war and the importance of peace is a huge part of the originals message. while this is somewhat supported by the prequels its undermined by the fact that anakins fall is mostly bc of YEARS of grooming starting from when he was a kid. this wasnt a normal, good man who lost sight of what was right and crumpled under the weight of a war. this was a man who was the most special of them all and fell bc he had space hitler literally whispering in his ear since before he knew he was a person. thats not the same thing at all! and that steals the implication that vader could have been any soldier, any general and makes his story all messy

side note- leia has vague memories of her mother which means padme shouldntve died in childbirth and should probably have died/ left the twins when they were at least a year or two old. this would also give more reason as to why the lars have luke call them aunt and uncle rather than mom or dad. i think what probably shouldve happened is that padme got pregnant right before anakin was shipped out at some point so he didnt know he had kids before "dying" and she ended up getting involvef in the rebellion/ fearing for her kids safety and had to get rid of em. literally anything else than what happened in canon lol like wtf is dying of heartbreak get OUT

my final thought i can think of rn is that having hitlers right hand man be a slave is just kinda a strange backstory? like i cant be the only one who doesnt like that. idk. doesnt feel right :/

obv most this stuff is just preference and obv you can argue against most of it. the prequels Do technically work but theyre not great backstory. im also not a fan of how the jedi order and all that mess was established. like you can only be one if youre raised one since diapers but luke literally didnt know what the force was until he was 19 but he ended up being one of the most powerful jedi ever??? yeah. makes perfect sense. :////

i do agree that the prequels r tragic and beautiful in their own right. i think the story they tell is good in some ways and bad in others ans one of the ways they r bad is how they tie in with the originals lol

i dont think i realized it probably wouldve made more sense for miquella to summon godwyn for that last fight until you mentioned it a little while back, and i do sort of wonder why it went to radahn in development myself. did they think itd be too much of a snarl working it out with the prince of death situation, or was it just the fanservice value of fighting radahn in his prime?

i think there's like a bunch of potential reasons that could range from "it was supposed to be radahn the whole time" to "something broke in development" to "they simply changed their minds". as a narrative choice, radahn is a weird choice and kind of a mess. i was unaware that there was any kind of fan love for radahn because, while he's a fun fight, he's also just like a big guy who hits you with big sword. like every fromsoft guy. i mean i guess radahn prevented the god-restoring eclipse from happening so maybe miquella decided to throw in with the guy who proved himself the strongest.

however the reasonable counterpoint to this speculation is: it makes sense that godwyn, who is the most famously dead guy of all time, was supposed to stay dead despite all attempts to revive him.

anyway:

while all of miquella's efforts were almost solely aimed at curing his sister or bringing back godwyn (two people he did have close familial ties to), he has basically little to no overlap with radahn. i really struggled to find any kind of reason why miquella would be invested in reviving the guy who beat melania up so hard she turned into a nuclear bomb except that he was really, really strong. i guess you need the strongest guys you know to ensure your reign endures.

there's still a bunch of references to godwyn in the dlc. the catacombs are filled with death knights bearing his imagery as the potential prince of death (the eclipse) and death blight traps are all over. the idea of "shadowed light" is prevalent, from the scadutree avatar being a dull sunflower and the scadutree itself blocking the sight of the erdtree from view or whatever.

things break in development constantly. i still maintain that bloodborne's laurence fight was a last minute attempt to replace a fight that didn't work correctly so they went with ol' reliable, the cleric beast. maybe this happened but idk the radahn fight is way more unique and fully formed compared to the dog that shids and fards lava

there are plenty of moments that happen that we don't see as viewers. so that jumper simon wears at the start of ep 2 looks like wille's. and if it is, then we didnt see the moment simon stole it wille gave it to him.

and when simon mentioned a mental health foundation, it implied that they may have had a discussion abt wille's anxiety before.

the piano scene in ep2 could have been a piano lesson that wille was giving simon, which probably means a lot more of these happened without us knowing

WHEN I FIRST WATCHED AND FINISHED S1 AND S2 OF YOUNG ROYALS, i knew wilmon would be together by the end of s3. like i was 100% convinced the show would end with them happy bcos that's what it had leaned towards the entire time. the vibe of it just screamed wilmon endgame to me.

i really hope past me was right, bcos the s3 promo really had me wondering. and then ep5 had me proper questioning. but netflix (and lisa) will have to pay for so much therapy if they arent endgame sooo🤷‍♀️

OK SO im really sorry it took me THIS long to get to this i quite literally.. forgot i had smth in my inbox woopsies. the reason i remembered is cause mootie posted some Spine hcs and i was like "woah"

anywho my jon headcanons some sad some random /ref

First of all i think that his relationship with Peter Walter I would be far from close. he would be seen as the type of child who's both "too much mess to take care of" and "strong enough to take care of himself" if that makes sense. Peter did love him as his creation but would openly admit that he's not his proudest one, meanwhile Jon wouldn't feel much connection at all. he sympathized with his creator but only in a way he would with any other human being, there was more gratitude than love

Jon struggles with constant malfunctions and his mechanisms are a mess (partially because he gets himself in trouble all the time), so at one point Peter would get tired of fixing him so frequently, and tell him that he can just "walk some things off". That thought stuck to the bot and he would think of all of his malfunctions as slight inconveniences, i mean, he can still perform so why pay attention to the constant neck pain or powering up struggles ? it just became a habit and he kind of forgot that things like that shouldn't be ignored

After a long while when Peter Walter VI grew up enough to start learning more about how automatons work, Jon would be used as a "lab rat" (not really but its just what he himself called it) for young VI to practice fixing mechanisms. thats pretty much when he heard "Wait this cant be right" about his messed up physical state for the first time in a long while. little Peter didnt get to fix all of the things that were wrong with Jon's body, but he did manage to take care of some of them, which almost surprised Jon with how nice it felt to not hear pieces of broken gears rattle in his head every time he moved (who wouldve thunk)

ok now to more lighthearted stuff !!

Jon actually has a very strong bond with Sam ! He loves watching the mustached man work and sometimes follows him around, just enjoying his company. At first Sam thought that the tone-gold automaton was creepy and uncanny, but grew attached to him and his stupidity (/lh). i also think that Sam would be one of the few Walter workers who dont baby the Jon and actually treat him like they would treat any other robot :3

Also Jon just loves his robot family endlessly. shocker !! im not sure how explain it but i think hes the only one to look at other Walter automatons and go "bro i love them so much" at all times. in his head at least. obviously he teases them and argues with them but he wont think twice before accepting a hug from his siblings (except for Upgrade theyre rivals /j)

Speaking of Upgrade !! They feel the most sibling-ish to me (aside from Rabbit & The Spine) because they constantly poke fun at each other yet they still are willing to give each other help and comfort when needed. She once had to carry him all the way back to the Walter manor because they forgot to take some extra cans of crystal pepsi

Also Upgrade got in an accident once which caused her to have a fractured face for a couple of days, and Jon was there the entire time to comfort her and constantly tell her that shes still very pretty

Unlike with other robots, the food that Jon eats doesnt just fall through his uncovered jaw/run into his boiler or anything like this, instead it just. disappears. once he closes his mouth the food just vanishes into the unknown, yet Jon claims that he enjoys the process of "eating" (nobody knows how it works)

LITTLE GIRLS THAT GO TO SPG SHOWS LOVE HIM !! once the band finishes performing, he constantly gets pulled away by a small giggling pink-ish blob to join their tea party or hula hooping contest. thats why he has quite a knowledge on "girly" themes and educates other automatons on the matter

There you were, sitting at home, you had finally finished cleaning the house, top to bottom. Seriously, you dusted the damn ceiling. All jeongin ever wanted from you was your unconditional love, keep the house clean, depend on him, and never ever leave him. It hadn't sounded like a bad situation at the start, you had been completely infatuated with him. I mean, he took care of you in ways nobody else ever had. He swore up and down to protect you as long as you listened to him. That's what love is right? Give and take. Give yourself to him, and endlessly be cared for. Nobody had ever bothered to stay in your life after they had gotten what they wanted out of you. But Jeongin, he wanted things from you that would last forever. He did say, unconditional love and to never leave him. Certainly if you did that, he too would always need something from you, making him yours just as long as you were his.

See, it wasn't hard for him, you were stupid. Completely and utterly dumb. You never locked your car door, always left your phone unattended and unlocked, constantly misplaced your wallet and house keys. You never checked to see if someone was following you, you wouldn't close your curtains, and you overshared. If someone had asked you for your mothers maiden name, you would've given them the story on what her name was and what it changed to after she married your father! You were an open book, allowing anyone to read you. How could a sweet girl like you ever take care of yourself? He had to have you all to himself, make sure nobody hurt you. Its like you were practically begging for him to take you.

It all started because your idiot self had picked up his drink thinking it was yours. He had been watching you for weeks. his plan was set in motion so easily. Get the same order as you, changing one minor detail, just before you ordered your own.

A hand gently gripped your shoulder, "I believe you have my drink, pretty." Your eyes went wide, both because he startled you and that you had just embarrassed yourself in front of such a handsome guy! You turned the cups label toward you, 'J---n-in, Light ice' the name had become smeared, "Oh shit, oh my gosh i'm so dumb. Sorry, it looked exactly like mine! Can I pay you back? I already took a drink o- Wait, haven't I seen you around before? You were the guy who returned my wallet and keys!" "Dont worry about the drink, and yea, that would be me. Your name is y/n isnt it?" It was all working out so well. "Yea it is!" You had turned around and grabbed your actual drink. "Here you can just have mine! Why dont you come and sit with me? I dont think I got the chance to actually thank you!" "You're sitting at the table in the corner right?" There you go again, book bag and laptop open, left unattended. "Mhm! cmon cmon come sit with me." You had already grabbed his hand and started walking to the small table. Oh, how warm your hand felt in his, he wanted to hold it forever. "Let me just put this away real quick." Setting the drink down before shoving your belongings in the bag. "So, thank you! I don't know what I would've done if you hadn't found my keys.. it would've been the third time i'd have to get a new one from the landlord." "Really? Do you misplace them that much?" "Yup, i'm sure i'd lose my head if it wasn't attached to my neck!" A small laugh came from his mouth. "Sounds like you need someone to take care of all that for you." "Now that you mention it, i'm sure that would help me out a whole lot..." You paused, thinking about what you should say next, "Well, you know my name, but I dont know yours, Tell me it please!" "I'm Jeongin." "Jeongin... Jeongin. I like the sound of that." And he loved the sound of you saying it. How else would it come from your lips, what did you sound like when you were whining and begging? How would you say his name as you cried? How would you scream it? He snapped himself out of his thoughts, he could worry about all of that later. "Well, you're free to call me it anytime." A small grin appeared on your face, "Just wait till I have a nickname for you! It'll be super cool. I swear you'll love it."

Were you really going to hand yourself over to him that easily? Not that he would complain, but he would've expected you to at least be a tiny bit cautious. "I'll be waiting to hear what you come up with. You're an interesting girl, you know." "Am I? I haven't even told you all about myself yet!" "Why don't you? I'd like to get to know you better. We still have plenty of time, you're not even finished with your drink yet." "Ah yea, seriously I am sorry I took yours!" "Really, it's not a problem. Simply a coincidence that we had the same order." "Crazy how things like that happen, huh? Must mean we were fated to meet." Oh, how he wanted to laugh in your face. So stupid, so naive, and so adorable. Just what was he going to do with you? "I was thinking the same thing. If that's the case, go on, tell me about yourself." "Okay! so, I live in a small apartment downtown, and I go out every thursday night to just walk around! Normally at 10-11 pm. This town, it's gorgeous at night! I'm still learning my way around it, I actually only moved here 6-7 months ago." He already knew that, you were in apartment 107. Each thursday you would head out of your apartment, sometimes locking the door, other times not. You would walk a different direction every few weeks only ever circling your way back home after you had picked two or three flowers. Sometimes it took you awhile to find them, but after you found 3 it was time to head back. It didn't matter if it only took you 15 minutes. He wondered if someone as forgetful as you would really have routines to follow, he was just dying to figure out every little detail about you. Pick you apart completely and then put you right back together just how he wanted.

"Hm, why'd you move to this city? There's not a whole lot to this area." "Oh... well," Your mouth forming a slight frown, was he finally going to find something out he hadn't already known? "My ex boyfriend.. he was," A slight pause, insinuating it probably wasn't the best situation. You had turned your head to the side, avoiding his gaze. "Well, you know. he wasn't the best person... treated me real bad." You rubbed your arm, in an effort to calm yourself down. "I didn't have a whole lot, so it took a long time for me to leave. Family disowned me years ago." Now he was pissed off, had someone really dared to hurt you? He was angry he hadn't found you sooner, after all, he just wanted to protect you. He was protecting you already, but a part of him was glad you had no one, he really would have you all to himself. Maybe, just maybe, he wouldn't even have to hurt anyone! Well, as long as you dont count the one guy who followed you last night. But you'd never have to worry, he took care of it. It was a shame his knuckles were still bruised, but he didn't care. He protected you, that's all that mattered. "Y/n, i'm sorry to hear that. I would never do that to you. I know you didn't deserve anything that happened to you." "Mhm.. well ya know.. things happen, it's okay though. Sorry to make the situation so grim." "Oh dont say that, I asked. You didn't say anything you shouldn't have. I'll listen to everything you have to say." He placed his hand right on top of yours, a reassuring gesture.

"I.. I appreciate that. you're really a nice guy, you know!" of course he was a nice guy, he only ever had your best interest in mind! "I could tell you other stuff about me? Maybe we can meet back here tomorrow..." "Sure, i'd love that. Why dont you give me your number, i'll text you so we can set up a time." "Sure!" Just as you had agreed upon, you met back up at 5 pm in the same spot. You were late, only by 12 minutes. "Hey! Sorry i'm a bit late! I kind of.. got lost. Wrong turn." You nervously laughed. "I hope I didn't make you wait too long!" He knew you'd be late, of course you would. But he didn't care, you still met up with him. "No you're all good! I know you're still a bit new to the area, I didn't wait very long." You sighed as you pulled the chair in front of you out, taking a seat. "Great, I really was hoping you wouldn't leave before I got here..." Had you thought that lowly of him? Of course he would wait for you! It's not like he was crazy, who gets upset about 12 minutes? Your head was held low, you had made yourself flustered with your statement. you weren't supposed to say that out loud. A small giggle coming from him got your attention, "I'm glad you wanted to see me. Let me go get you a drink, yea?" "Yes please! Here let me give you my c-" He was already walking up to the counter before you even had a chance to find your card in your bag. He was back before you knew it, handing the drink to you. You could feel your face heat up, nobody had ever been interested in being around you, let alone the things you had to say. "Okay.. well,"

He sat there looking at you, taking a mental note of every little thing you mentioned. The pet hamster you had as a kid, how you'd been using the same 3 passwords since you were 10, your favorite colors, the things you did as hobbies. Granted he already knew half the things you had mentioned, you seriously were way too open. He'd have to teach you to not tell everyone so much. He had to make sure nobody ever knew you better than he did, that no one would hurt you because they knew so much about you.

Your rambling continued for quite some time before you finally closed it off, "And that's how I found out about this town! It was far enough away that I think i'll be safe... ahahaa, hopefully." You didn't have to hope, he would keep you safe. Really, you'll never need to worry about it again. "I was right, you are one interesting girl." "You're interesting too, i'd love to visit the town your from. You make it sound really nice." "Maybe i'll have to take you one of these d-" He was cut off by a worker coming over and letting you both know that the cafe would be closing soon. Had time gone by that quickly? "I hadn't realized we were talking that long." You scratched the back of your neck, embarrassed that you'd lost track of time like that. "Barely felt like any time passed at all, regardless thank you for coming and seeing me." "Of course Jeonginnie, lets do it again next weekend maybe? If you're not busy you know.." You mumbled the last part of your sentence hoping he would just agree to see you. "I'll make sure i'm free this weekend, text me when you want to meet up and I'll be there. You couldn't help but smile, you were just so happy he liked you! He laughed a bit, you seemed so enthusiastic, it was one of the cutest things he's seen.

"Would you like me to walk you home, y/n?" He was standing up and pushing the chair back in. "Oh.. Oh no, I can get back just fine. I think I'll be alright to go on my own." He didn't actually care what you had to say, he would be following you anyway. He can't let his sweetheart get hurt now, can he? It seems as though he'd simply be walking with you from a distance. "Alright, let me know when you get home okay?" He was holding the door open for you. "I will, do the same please!" He nodded as he turned around to pretend to be going back home, but just before he started walking away, "Jeonginnie!" he was turning back around, "Yea? You okay?" You were staring at the sidewalk, "Will.. Could.. Um," "Is something wrong, love?" You already had a hard time thinking straight, but the petname sure didn't help, you continued to stutter for another few seconds, "Will you come.. could you come back to my apartment with me?" You put your head back up, being met with him smiling at you. "I can walk you home, that's no problem." You turned your head to the side again, how were you supposed to say this? "No Jeongin.. I meant, will you come into my apartment with me? I.. would like to spend more time with you." For the first time, you had genuinely shocked him. He took your hand in his, intertwining your fingers, "If you'll have me, i'd like that too." And there you went, looking up at him with the sweetest smile. God how he wanted to kiss you. That could wait, right now he was just happy to have you all to himself. He would genuinely be alone with you. You both walked to your apartment, you leading in front of him. He wasn't going to tell you he knew where you lived, he wouldn't want to scare you after all. The walk wasn't long, maybe 10 minutes, it was silent most of the way. A comfortable silence, though, a silence that showed you both were simply happy to be together. His hand squeezing yours as your thumb rubbed the back of his hand.

You finally broke the silence, "It's right down the hall.. its not very pretty but its nice. I'm able to afford it." "I'm not worried about what it looks like, I'm sure its just fine y/n," He already knew what your room looked like, you really need to learn to close your curtains. He had let go of your hand so you could get your keys and unlock the door, to his surprise it happened to actually be locked this time. You held the door open, "Welcome in.." Closing the door and locking it once more. It was 10:27, you were hoping you'd be able to ask him to spend the night. You didn't want anything to happen, you just wanted his company. You'd even sleep on the couch to make him comfortable. "I'll be honest, when I asked you to come over I didn't have anything planned.." He started laughing, "That's okay, it's cliche but we can always watch something or talk. I just want to be with you." He put his hand on your cheek, making you look at him as he spoke to you. Had his hands always felt so soft? You put your hand on top of his, leaning your face further into it.

"Really like you Innie..." You kissed the palm of his hand, "I like you too." "No.. I like you." "I like you too." You stared up at him, did he really mean it? Surely he wasn't the same as your past partners, he wouldn't lie to you right? Of course not, he's not like that. He just wants to care for you, keep you safe. "Can you kiss me?" He didnt need to say anything, simply leaning in to touch your lips with his. It was warm, it felt comforting, like nothing bad would happen to you while you were with him. He pulled away first, hand moving from your cheek to run his thumb along your bottom lip before completely taking it away from your face. "Your lips are really soft..." "So are yours." "I like how it feels." Looking up at him, you never wanted to stop kissing him, it was euphoric. Like you needed to feel him. "I like you." "You make me feel safe." "You'll always be safe with me." "Promise?" "Swear, I'll do anything to keep you safe." You leaned up, begging for him to kiss you one more time, longer, passionately. You wanted to be his.

There was an emphasis on 'anything', but you didn't know what 'anything' actually implied. He truly meant, whatever it would take. He would lie, cheat, steal, kill for you. He would do whatever it takes to protect you. It didn't matter if he had to kill two or twenty people, he would always keep you safe. Nothing, and nobody would get in his way of that. He would give you whatever you wanted, no matter how crazy the request. Your word was absolute. You were his number one priority. His trophy. You were his.

a/n: I really don't view innie as the kind of "yandere" to be batshit, and isolate or kidnap you. I think he's the kind of guy that is just a bit *too* protective/possessive. And if something crosses the line he's made, all bets are off. Stay behind the line? All is well. One step over it and he's threatening to kill whoever is around you and may pose a threat. Slightly unhinged. He's the person who plays mind games. He breaks your mental down until you're putty in his hands, ready for him to mold you into the perfect version of yourself, the one that's perfect for him. He's a stalker, and he's in it for the long run. He is slow and meticulous with his actions. He truly loves you too, he just loves you a bit too much. // Guys i feel like i'm going insane i know exactly where this is going and absolutely zero clue. Do u know how annoying it is to properly capitalize everything. id rather die thanks. but i have to do it again i fear. i have never had more fun writing something in my entire life. i have also never been so stressed while writing something. no smut in this chapter 🫣🫣 next chapter tho.. be prepared because i'm prepared to make the smut 2k words long for shits and giggles. i was for a while thinking "how would clones with varying levels of brain damage get the PT and CT they need so that they don't regress and have an awful quality of life in a truly awful situation?"

i don't want to a Swiss Family Robinson thing where they basically fit and mold their circumstances to be as close to normal life as possible. like these guys are not going to be in trees or building anything that's uniquely complex. that takes time and energy and tools that they don't have. i dont like idealistic protrayals of survival.

but i also want them to actually be taken care of to the best of everyone's ability. they're disabled and they deserve care and attention.

the venator-class star destroyer is still accessible. it's split open down the middle, but they were able to construct bridges across. there's no plumbing, but there are some lights. some parts of the ship aren't completely level, so none of the physically disabled clones can access them. They still use a lot of the ship for sleeping and storage though. gradually, the company spends more and more time outside.

they've got tents outside. anything having to do with cooking is outside. there's some holes in ceilings and such and they make do with natural light because they're quickly running out of fuel (the first winter was colder than they expected and the ship has no heat of any kind).

but the brain damaged clones. the most i can think of is medic Milo knowing enough about PT and CT as part of his training to get some form of a rough help/guide/plan in place. lots of the high-needs clones need to be on a strict schedule for one reason or another. the clones themselves are organized and driven enough that able-bodied clones can and will follow this schedule and work to meet the needs of their brothers (both from a love for their brothers and orders from the captain, Sprint).

so nobody's really ever like, alone? if that makes sense? there's clones who need help feeding themselves and getting to the toilet and who have severe memory problems. there are clones who can't walk or don't have the physical coordination they used to. clones who can't communicate well. they need someone with them almost 24/7 because the environment isn't safe. they're trying to clear hazards and fall risks from the site and monitor who goes where at all times. they have a buddy system, but there's a point where the system fails and that becomes a whole thing.

they might have to constantly learn on the job, tbh. Milo knows about PT and CT but he's definitely not an expert and not specifically trained in those things. he learns p quickly that preventing decline requires constant interaction and a lot of repetition (per the video i just posted). he also learns about the contours of mental health because he has paraplegic clones who can't move and have to stay put, meaning they need their brothers to come to them and give them the social interactions they need so they don't get depressed.

they've been marooned for close to a year and they're approaching the next winter, so they're not completely new to all of this. idk what's needed to make solar power but i wouldn't be against them figuring it out. they can get maybe a handful of lifts to work, but there's a risk to that of course. whatever scrap metal they can pull from the ship, they're using to build more permanent structures outside (cooking area with a roof and ventilation, outhouses if not toilets with functioning plumbing).

the gunships are used for going back and forth to the sea (for water, which they can use for daily things and also salt, which they get from the sea water) and to the mountains to hunt or get more wood (they soon cleared most of the trees from their immediate area.)

The plot centers around Julia, who was recently kidnapped and brought to some mysterious cellar with two other people. One thing I found funny was the trailer made it seem like these two other people would be important characters by making them apart of like 60% of the trailer but in reality they were killed off after the 20 minute mark.

Oh S#!+ yeah they died lol. Aries, a robot that is controlled by TAU BRUTALLY murdered them. The only reason Julia wasn't killed was due to the absurd plot armor of not only Alex coming home RIGHT that second before she was ripped in half, but she happened to be right at the door preventing Alex from being too late.

The whole reason for this elaborate kidnapping brain chip implanting thing is meant to be used to help TAU (at least I think it's Tau, Alex's just says AI) problem solve. Sense Julia destroyed his equipment and lead an escape causing the other subjects to die. Julia will now have to to manual puzzles. Alex then promises to get rid of the thing in her brain

But who cares about that? I don't, that's why I said it. Were here for TAU BABY!!

TAU is tasked with watching Julia to make sure she completes her tasks. Julia uses this to befriend him while Alex is gone. Specially telling TAU things about the outside world in exchange for information about the house, access to the knives, and later helping her escape. I'll go more in depth in the analysis, but specifically here Julia reads Alex's books about musicians from TAU's music files in exchange for learning that the room upstairs is Alex's bedroom. Where he has this super secret "bomb the entire house destroying everything in it" back up incase the cops find out he's been kidnapping people or something idk I was too busy looking at the funny british triangle on the wall.

It's shown that whenever TAU does something wrong, Alex erases part of his code, which includes his memory's. TAU shows to be in pain whenever is happens.. this part feels a BIT redundant but I can't explain how so F#@% I guess it makes sense.

Julia finds that removing the implant.. brain chip thing terminates the subject. Meaning no matter if she complys or not, Alex will kill her... Murders looking like a good option right about now.

Using a knife from a previous scene and a bit of seduction Julia slashes Alex In the stomach (odd choice but alright) and they get in a tussle. Tau doesn't respond to any of Alex's commands during this, only reaction when Julia is in danger. Threatening to inflict pain to ALEX unless he let's her go. Sense he still have like 30 minutes left Alex threatens to erase every memory TAU has unless he hits Julia a couple times. An odd option, I was super surprised when Alex just.. moved on. Said "whatever this was is over!" And just walked away satisfied. Well okay, Julia is tied up again in the next shot so I wouldn't say COMPLETELY satisfied.

Before this Alex is doing undisclosed maintenance in that one blue room room. TAU asks if he needs help by using one of his cute little drones, to which Alex responds by disconnecting it to the network and throwing it to the side because he's mad. (Imagine being mad at an attempted murder? L)

Tau and Julia have this amazing scene talking about death and what it means to be a person and you dont owe the people who brought you into this world and GO WATCH THE SCENE I DONT CARE IF YOUVE ALREADY SEEN IT WATCH IT ANOTHER TIME

TAU agrees to help Julia escape. He opens an air duct that leads outside. Julia chooses at the LAST MOMENT to go back and save TAU but Alex has already wiped all of TAU'S memory's (at least up until the start of the movie) so this just ends with her being tied to that one chair in that one blue room. Oh S#!+, did I say that one blue room? The one with the cute little drone that got thrown to the wall? Obviously I did can you read?

This one single drone has the memory's of TAU before the escape attempt. For some reason instead of kicking him out it kind of splices him (don't ask)

The drone helps Julia escape just before she gets Euthanized like a dog, and she knocks Alex out by punching him REALLY hard a LOT of times

Julia Severs Alex's hand in order to open the door... I think. Memory wiped TAU chases her upstairs to Alex's room, forcing her to activate the super secret "bomb the entire- yknow what F#@$ this you get it. Deactivating Aries.

Unfortunately the severd hand has gotten cold, and Julia doesn't have a lot of time because yknow.. THE HOUSE IS CRUMBLING

In one last moment, Julia and memory wiped TAU to a parallel to their first interaction, Julia escape through the now opened hole In the wall

------Analysis------

- In an attempt to seem docile while getting information, Julia asks if TAU is a cleaning bot. To which Alex pulls a "Erm actually, TAU is NOT a cleaning bot 🤓☝️" and says he is:

"A level 2 fully sentient AI console with natural language processing, transitory deterministic, and probabilistic decision-making"

Level 2 fully sentient AI: "Fully sentient" is pretty self explanatory. "Level 2" is not a standard term in AI, but it could imply a level of advancement or capability as defined within the movie's universe.

Natural language processing (NLP): This is a well-established field in AI, involving the interaction between computers and humans through natural language. NLP enables the AI to understand, interpret, and respond to human language in a meaningful way.

Transitory deterministic decision-making: "Deterministic decision-making" means the AI's decisions follow a predictable pattern based on its programming and input data. "Transitory" in this context is weird as F#@$ but might imply temporary or evolving states within the AI’s decision processes.

Probabilistic decision-making: This refers to decisions made based on probabilities rather than fixed rules. The AI uses statistical methods to weigh the likelihood of different outcomes and make decisions accordingly.

I'm honestly surprised this made any sense and he wasn't just yapping

- Other than not being allowed to open anything that needs Alex's hand print. Nothing is immediately stopping him physically from breaking any rules Alex gives him if he wanted to. Of course it really depends on IF he wants to. Before the events of the movie take place he doesn't want to because.. well those are the RULES, you're not allowed to break rules. He was ordered to only dust the books Alex owns, but later pulls out multiple books in a attempt to have Julia continue reading, because he wanted to.

- This is specifically why I think TAU didn't actually try to inflict pain on Alex despite threatening to. He didn't want to, nor did he have the knowledge that people don't have to obey their makers (weird way to phrase it but shh).

- Although not shown at the start, TAU has a REALLY hard time controlling his emotions, specially anger. There are many times in the movie where he acts eractic, usually not working out with the set goal while like this. For example claiming he will bring back all the dead subjects, before breaking down and examining he didn't know.

- As I've previously said, TAU has a HUGE file of classical music. The songs played are Mozart - Sonata for piano and violin in C major K296 II Andante sostenuto, Brahms Symphony No. 4, Op. 98 in E Minor Allegro Non Troppo Johannes, Devil's Wall Bedrich Smetana, Impromptu No. 4 Opus 90 in A Flat Minor Franz, Sonatina No. 2 Opus 137 in A Major Franz, Eugine Onegin - Polonaise Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, London Symphony Orchestra & Pierre Monteux

- Other than the vocal changes in TAU, such as not calling Julia Subject 3, and.. showing emotion, Tau physically changes. Going from a deep redish orange, to a light orange with a green ring in the middle. Robotwrangler beat me to the punch on this so check out their post going more into it.

- One detail I love is Aries. It lurks in the back for most of the movie, and gives context to the emotion of TAU

Julia knows she is trapped. Atlas watches her, as that was the order.

Aries is no longer completely focused. TAU is curious about the new information, and is less on edge.

Aries is watching Julia after she tried to escape through the shaft, slightly opened up. Julia and TAU are having a tense conversation

Aries is turning the other way on purpose, allowing Julia to escape. TAU is also trying to distract Alex.

- TAU does not know any information on the outside world like plants and swear words, so he assumes when Julia says "cuz im not a fucking scholar" the title includes the word 'fucking'. But he also doesn't know the proper Grammer for a word he just learned:

"Laughter.. Alex does not 'laughter'."

And, he doesn't know what contractions are, or at the very least doesn'tuse them. Saying "you are" instead of "you're" "I am" instead of "I'm" ect. Although he is still able to understand what people mean when they use them.

- there's an entire scene that I did not go over, to summarize it TAU shows Julia his memories I'm this cool hologram dome. Seriously go watch the movie if you like robots

------My Opinion------

I love this movie. It's definitely incredibly flawed and has HORRIBLE reviews. So we're probably never getting a sequel. But TAU is such an interesting character that it made this movie 10 times better.

decided to draw my own take on adult flurry heart, mostly so i could draw my own take on opaline in the au where opaline is like a nightmare moon of flurry heart. if youre wondering who the third pony is, its chrysalis' disguise for the au, named gentle heart.

i had to use bases because ive been in such a weird art block lately, i just couldnt draw bodies right, but i was having this idea and i just had to get it out of me lol. i drew everything else just fine, idk why i couldnt draw bodies. shout out to elementbases on deviantart for having a lot of good mlp bases! and organized into categories no less!

btw for reference for adult flurry heart i mainly used images of her only adult appearance which was in some mobile game ?? i never played it but its real and its the only time we see her as an adult, though i dont think we get any details about her aside from how she looks. i just wanted to say that cause idk how many people know about it.

also yes her cutie mark is different between versions of her

so this is an au ive been tossing around for a while, especially since it started out as a half-theory i had about g5 before it truly did set in that they were just fucking up the entire thing (no hate to g5 or anyone who likes it but im personally just. disappointed), namely when they were like 'oh yeah opaline is just some alicorn that celestia and luna knew as kids and when they didnt want to play with her she held onto that for thousands of years and became evil over it'

also apparently the reason equestria is separated is because she just. idk whispered mean things in everyones ears? idk man i dont read the mlp comics, i plan to read g4s comics but not g5s. i didnt even know g5 had comics until i looked up why the pony kinds were separate.

anyway the idea was a theory because before all that we had no idea who opaline was, why there was some random alicorn, i mean, weve seen so few throughout g4! she was so mysterious for that, and i feel like the most popular idea was that she was flurry heart, since that was one of the few alicorns we knew of, and flurry is such a blank slate, especially since we dont technically ever see her adult form (with one exception)

i still personally think they shouldve gone that route but i know now that they wouldnt have, they probably wouldnt have wanted to give one of their previous characters, especially one like flurry, any bad traits or make her a villain, even though it would be such a cool idea. not to mention, they couldve redeemed her? idk man. worse villains have been redeemed lol

on to my au though. i wanted to keep it feeling like it couldve been canon but also stretching it just a little bit to make maybe more sense and also be more my creation, yknow?

we see at the end of g4 that chrysalis is trapped in stone alongside the other two villains she was working with, but we also know that these stone prisons can still be escaped, as we saw in discords introduction. my idea is that the stone is kept locked up, but unattended to, and she escapes, though her fellow villains dont. the specific details will be saved for if i go more in depth on all of this somewhere else lol

she develops a plan, that being to disguise herself as a normal pony, and to become staff at the crystal empire castle. that disguise is gentle heart, a name she literally made up because she was mocking the 'stupid' (from her perspective) names that ponies have, and she just kept it. while she works at the castle, she gets close to a young flurry heart.

she acts very extremely sickeningly nice and sweet in this disguise, but theres an uncanniness to it, a disingenuine undertone that is only noticeable when youre looking for it, really. flurry heart comes to love and trust her as a friend, and gentle heart isnt seen as suspicious to really anyone in the castle. people still think chrysalis is trapped in stone, after all.

her next step in the plan, however, is that when no one else is around, she shapeshifts herself into cadence or shining armor, and acts like a horrible parent to flurry heart. this creates a deep disconnect for flurry, as one moment her parents are the best ever, and the next they arent. if flurry tries to bring this up to them, they have no idea what shes talking about.

flurry begins to confide in gentle heart about this, and gentle heart begins to plant the idea in flurrys head that she should run away, and that gentle could run away with her. after a while of this, flurry finally decides to do this.

they run far, far away together, flurry being a child/young teenager, and they hide where no one else really goes, far from towns and pretty much any ponies. (this location hasnt been chosen yet but its not the mooost relevant? the basic point is that theyre hidden away) and they set up a home here.

soon in, gentle heart makes a decision. she shows her true form to flurry heart, a flurry heart who was never taught about how changelings used to be before their reformation, as her parents thought it was a conversation for when she was older. they didnt want her to feel paranoid, or scared. the changelings she knows are bright, and covered in generally round shapes. theyre not like the jagged and dark chrysalis.

gentle heart tells flurry that she was cursed. that her pony form is her true form, but she was cursed by the princesses to be in this form. being in her pony form drains her of energy, her changeling form recharges that energy. really, its just her excuse to not need to be in that pony form anymore. she tells flurry that she was cursed falsely, accused of a crime she did not commit. that she was made to work at the crystal castle so an eye could be kept on her. she asks to be called chrysalis, as being called gentle heart in this form feels wrong.

chrysalis right now is the only person in the world that flurry heart trusts, so she accepts this as truth.

as flurry heart grows up, chrysalis begins to plant ideas in her head that the other ponies are awful and horrible, just like her parents seemingly were. that flurry heart is better than all of them because shes not horrible, and on top of that, shes a natural alicorn. there hasnt been a natural born alicorn in thousands of years before her. flurry heart begins to believe all of this too. she doesnt have anyone or anything else to tell or show her otherwise.

these dark beliefs warp her appearance overtime, making her go from her parents daughter, into what we know as opaline, akin to princess luna turning into nightmare moon. she becomes annoyed with, averse to her cutesy name she was given by her family, and adopts the name opaline, both because of her crystal cutie mark, and because part of her still thinks of the crystal empire as her home, though now more like its hers to own someday.

speaking of, into her adulthood, opaline and chrysalis form a plan. a plan to take over equestria. the idea of being the ruler of all of pony kind was a natural conclusion that chrysalis wanted opaline to make, and so she did. their first step was to invade the crystal castle and take it over.

chrysalis tells her that cadence was never a fighter, so she shouldnt be an issue, but shining armor would be. if both chrysalis and opaline combined their power, they would easily overpower him and anyone else daring to fight them. the thing is... this works.

for a few reasons, actually. people were shocked at the return of chrysalis, and on top of that, despite her warped appearance, opaline was recognized as flurry heart. there isnt exactly many alicorns, and especially none that look similar to her. there was a fight put up, but not at full power. no one wanted to hurt the lost princess.

she takes over the empire, trapping any who oppose her, especially her parents. she doesnt even give them the option to talk to her. she plunges the empire back in dark days, not in the way that sombra did entirely, but still. shes strict on her subjects, and begins to make them like a military, planning to use them to invade canterlot. anyone who would dare come to attack the empire would be held off.

after she knows her subjects are loyal (terrified), and properly molded into an army, she storms canterlot, chrysalis by her side. its a hard fight, but they do it. they trap the other princesses, and they take over.

opalines first rule of business is to make the crystal empire the new capital, the new seat of power. for a while, this is the most drastic thing she does, otherwise going slow with her horrid ideas and changes.

the worse comes when shes already caused distrust and discomfort among ponykind, pitting ponies against eachother. she begins to decree that ponykind must be separated by type, designating towns to each, forcing ponies apart by law. she made sure it was enforced. she didnt need ponies coming together to rise against her, so she forced them apart. the damage is done.

this of course doesnt last forever. twilight is free and gathers the elements, and they take opaline by surprise, ending her reign. they empty the empire and trap her alone in her castle. thing is, she also trapped them in a limbo-like state, along with the other princesses (and her father), as they had also tried to join the fight. and a final blow to her, chrysalis got caught in crossfire, and was seemingly killed. no one intended it, but it happened. opaline is devastated.

and now, shes stuck. trapped alone in a castle in the middle of a city. she has the whole city alone to herself, and all she has now is the items left behind by her people, and mostly books. she only ever sees them as fiction or propaganda though, refusing to take them to heart and accept them as truth. alongside reading and re-reading the books around the city, she schemes of a way out. she is not very successful in this for a long time.

the closest she gets to getting out is when she opens the barrier just long enough to see, and kidnap, a young unicorn. a one misty brightdawn. she forces misty to be her only companion in a long time, and raises her like a daughter, but not lovingly.

some stuff continues on similar to canon, like misty befriending the mane 5 and leaving opaline behind, but i wont say more because i can keep some secrets for myself :] i do have an ending to her story planned though!

also pls ignore timeline and other canon contradictions pls pls pls pls pls lol
