Something that always bothers me is when people talk about the common fanon Jeff designs not being "story-accurate" (to clarify this isn't a post about anyone specific, it's just a sentiment I've been seeing for years). Because yeah sure they're not accurate to what an actual burn victim would look like, but.... neither is the original story. Burning bleach on your skin doesn't bleach you white and getting set on fire doesn't turn your hair black; but those are both described in detail to be happening in the original. They also never describe or allude to the actual side effects of being a surviving burn victim because it was entirely there to explain his appearance (unrealistically) and make him sound cool.

He also isn't really meant to be an 'unsympathetic monster' in the original either. You're meant to empathize with him from the very beginning-- the bullies are there so he can stand up to them, which is meant to be a good thing. He loses Liu for a good chunk of the story so he'd have more of a motivation. It's not written well, but the entire thing is his Traumatic Backstory on how he became a Scary Murder Guy.

Idk. I guess criticizing the fanon emo designs just never sat well with me bc his original isn't really that different? Going off the descriptions of the original creepypasta & image would get you pretty similar results. He's not written to be a terrifying, ugly force of nature who should never be treated as human. He's a Scary Murder Guy written by someone under 14.

You decide to give yourself some rest and let out your true form as you walk around the forest to freshen up your mind. You weren't alone of course. HE was watching you. Now did he see you on accident or was it on purpose? We shall know

Oda Forces

→ Nobunaga Oda

Okay. Idk why I keep adding people who I know won't fit this scenario. Yeah he's too busy to go to the woods for a stroll

→ Hideyoshi Toyotomi

• he saw you going into the woods and followed you because it's not safe at night!

• he still doesn't trust you and what if you were going to give information to the enemy!

• however, he froze when he saw your ears and tails. Y- you aren't a human at all!

• after that momentary shock you can hear him say "I KNEW IT. I KNEW YOU WERE SUSPICIOUS" He yelled, his sword ready to attack

• you say nothing and simply smile at him

• he however, squares his shoulders and tell you to leave. And never come back or he will report you to his Lord

• to his surprise, you laugh "Oh really? And who's going to believe you?" You said as you walked past him and back to the castle

• he tries to tell others about you in the war council that night but much to his dismay your acting is way too good

• they think he's finally gone insane and is given a few days off

• he can't rest tho! What is you hurt Lord Nobunaga?!

• and hence the games commence

• oh what's this? Our newly appointed chatelaine going into the woods in the dead of the night? How amusing

• he follows her quietly but he didn't expect you would turn out to be a kitsune!

• you actually wanted to lure him out here. You wanted to see if he was a fellow kitsune or just a mortal who was quite good and impersonating one. It was the latter. You couldn't hide your disappointment at that

• mitsuhide was visibly stunned. Yes over time he Jokes about being a kitsune but he never thought he'd meet one in real life! He didn't even know they existed!

• his approach was very careful and calculated unlike Hideyoshi

• he was wary yes. But he was also intrigued. If Kitsune's exist then so does Oni, Tengu and Yukiotokos too right? Oh he was dying to know about it

• and so since that day he started following you around promising to keep your secret with him at all times

→ Ranmaru Mori

• he was initially going to the woods Himself. To report to kennyo when he spotted you

• he thought maybe you were lost and decided to help you only to see your kitsune self

• poor boy was shocked and ran away

• the next day, he cautiously approached you in the castle but you waved his suspicions off saying that he was seeing things.

• you later threaten to eat him if he told a soul about your secret. Not that anyone would believe him but he would make a good snack! Were your words

Uesugi Takeda Forces

→ Kanetsugu Naoe

• he was looking for you when you suddenly dissapeared

• he thought you escaped which shouldn't have happened since he was keeping a close eye on you.

• that's when he found you in the woods

• like Hideyoshi he also threatened you with his sword and told you to leave.

• you replied that he would get in trouble for that since you were a hostage and not some common maid

• kanetsugu grit his teeth but eventually let you stay in the castle. However, he threatened to tell on you.

• you didn't tell him to go to it since no one would believe him because they would. As Kanetsugu isn't one to fool around

• so instead you threaten to kill his Lord if he tells a soul about your secret

• at first he brushes it off, saying you can't been hurt a hair on his Lord but then you pointed out how you can so easily sneak away and potentially get away with murder without a trace if you wanted

• so he begrudgingly had to stay close to you after that. Warning others to keep a distance from you

→ Shingen Takeda

• one of his mitsumono reported him what she saw

• she was ababsolutely terrified and so the first thing he did was calm her down then he asked if what she saw was absolutely true and if it really was MC

• upon receiving his answer he made a visit to your room first thing in the morning

• to his surprise you didn't dismiss any of the alligations towards her

• well this is a surprise. He wasn't scared tho, he sat down and reassured you that he wouldn't tell a soul about your secret. Not that you cared. No one would've believed him anyways

• he did however talked about you. Where you really came from? Are there more of those like you?

• he was absolutely fascinated and wanted to know more about you

→ Yoshimoto Imagawa

• he was in the woods admiring the nature when he saw you

• he wasn't afraid but mesmerized by your beauty

• and you allowed him to admire your beauty. Finally someone who actually knows their place

• you didn't feel the need to threaten him since you didn't think he would tell on you or anyone would believe him even if he did.

• he's pretty calm generally so you allowed him to stay with you through the whole walk around the woods

• after that it became a like a habit for the both of you to go for a walk each night

Lone Forces

→ Kennyo

• he was also on a walk around the forest. When he spotted you

• he was shocked to see not a person but rather a kitsune walking around

• he knew better than to mess with otherworldly beings so he initially decided to leave you alone

• but it was too late as you had already spotted him

• now what shall he do? He didn't want to anger you so he paid his respects to you from where he stood and slowly walked away

• but you followed him. That's not good. That's can't be good

• he was initially wary around you. Not interacting with you at all

• but slowly he warmed up to you. Of course he was still respectful but atleast you both were on talking terms now!

also also I know everyone likes to talk about how good of an archon Venti is because he left mondstadt to do its own thing and hey look Zhongli's doing the same now with his retirement but I also like how the story shows it isn't without flaws, with so much freedom in the city it's all too easy to take control with power, Mondstadt's people may be free but they also don't have a god to actually uphold the ideal they stand for and how personal freedoms conflict, discrimination(eg. against Eula and her clan) is allowed because the people are free to do whatever they want, the fatui really wormed their way into mondstadt during the webtoon + nearly did with Davalin bc the people of mondstadt do whatever they want so Jean is overworked and the knights are ineffective(according to Diluc), and how mondstadt might have been the least free place for the common people during the Lawrences rule despite being the region governed by the archon of freedom

Zhongli at least first tested his people were ready before retiring, Venti kinda acended, organized a bunch of celebrations for his people, then left them to have fun with their newfound freedom only interveining when things get really bad

So my SO was like "OH HO HO WHAT IS THIS!?"

While covering my face and crying laughing I managed to scream "RESEARCH"

Because I find that the whole "Fantasy may only use English accents!" to be boring as fuck. And I was trying to narrow down my OC accents. They're Drow so they speak Drow or Under Common depending on your sources... some sources even have something like "High Under Common" which is spoken by nobles (which my OCs are) and that version is SUPPOSEDLY 'similar to elvish'

I did NOT pick Brazilian for them or anything it was just part of that visible search history when I was checking out Portuguese.

I'm still kind of flailing around with decision paralysis because Under Common is considered more gutteral and deep so... depending on the interpretation and what exact phonetic sounds are being made it COULD be similar to our German, Dutch, Arabic, or Portuguese just to name a few.

But then if I go by the source material where "High Under Common" is lighter and more melodic we're getting into French, Swedish, and Ukrainian.

This is the kind of shit I think about at 4:40 in the morning and I haven't slept yet.
