I hate it when I headcanon a character who’s canonically a girl as a trans man and make ships of him and a character who’s canonically a guy and I refer to it as a gay/mlm/guyxguy/whatever ship and someone gets mad. Like omg let trans people have FUNNNNN. Why are queer headcanons and genderbends cool until they’re saying that the character is trans???

No, I don’t think that being a trans man makes you a woman or vice versa. That’s why it’s a headcanon, and the headcanon is that this character is actually a trans man and not a woman at all! You’ll never guess what pronouns most trans men had to use at some point in their lives, and you really won’t like it when you find out about pre-(or no-)transition trans men… or trans men who are in the closet… or trans men who don’t know that they’re trans yet.

my life has been greatly improved after i did this and i want to help my fellow mobile warriors, but there are no full clear tutorials on it out there, so im making my own

under the cut there'll be an overly extensive but hopefully helpful tutorial on how to use revanced (of youtube revanced fame) to get a patched version of the tumblr mobile app which can reverse annoying UI changes, get prev tags back, and get rid of tumblr live permanently

first of all, this only works on android. sorry. but that said here we go

firstly go on the play store and turn off Play Protect. you'll generally need to turn off/ignore any safety checks you get, and allow to "download from unverified sources" (dw this process is safe, you can turn these back on after you're done)

uninstall the tumblr app you currently have on your phone (the one from the play store)

download Vanced MicroG and ReVanced Manager. install both. ReVanced Manager will become an app you'll need to use for this

go to this link. generally youre supposed to be careful when downloading apks off the internet, but i can testify the ones from apkmirror are safe

now this is where the magic happens. apkmirror has the apks for ALL versions of the tumblr app, from the most recent one as far back as 2015

this is how you can reverse any changes to the tumblr app you dont like, simply get an apk from before the change was made

the one im currently using is v29.1.1.100

pros of this one:

- the old image viewer (you can click on images to zoom in without the weird transparent background and scrolling taking you to unrelated posts)

- prev tags (aka you can click on a post or a reblog to be taken directly to that version of the post or the reblog instead of just going to the top of op's blog)

- general reversal of recent UI changes, like the DM redesign and the update that made everything smaller and round

having chosen an apk, download it. i heard some people say you should only download and not install it right away, but mine only worked when i had it installed, so it might depend for you

now go to the ReVanced Manager app you downloaded earlier

go to the Patcher tab, and there click on Select and application, there you can select the tumblr apk you just downloaded

there you can see the available patches, simply click on patch and wait until its done

i believe if you did not need to install your apk earlier you can just click "install" and install the patched version right away.

but for me, since i had to install my apk, what i had to do was, once my app was patched, click on the folder icon on the bottom left, save the patched app to my phone files (besides the og one, not replace it), then i went to my file manager, deleted the original apk, THEN installed the revanced version

idk if you'll need to do this but it was a pain for me to figure this out so if it helps someone else 👍

and with that its done! if you manage to install it sucessfully, you can just open the app, log in, and youll see if its working if tumblr live is completely gone and all other changes are applied o7

Since the official art of them came out, I've seen some very hilarious takes about Yuuji and Sukuna. Some people coping HARD. "Yuuji is forcing him" Well gee, since when can he force Sukuna to do anything? Or is Sukuna that powerless against him? Even in Yuuji's domain, Sukuna didn't have to catch a damn crayfish or do archery, but he did, mind you all this happened BEFORE Yuuji said he could kill him (and even when this happened, he had support from Nobara). He's like, "ahggg fine I GUESS I can do this" lmao. In the official art, he's the one leading the dance. For what reason? Gege didn't have to draw them with their fingers intertwined, with Sukuna's arm around Yuuji's waist, and yet. Why have all this with the snow falling around them? (Yes the cat might be pandering, that's another valid reason) Right after we have the epilogue with Yuuji saying he still likes the snow and it's special to him?

I'm not on that app but I did see several posts here on Tumblr about how "there's suddenly so many skit shippers don't these ppl know that's a horrible ship" like bruh. Do you not realize Yuuji came from a brain inhabiting his mother's corpse? That Yuuji isn't even human? Are they not aware they're reading a work which isn't suitable for children?

Most are coping because sukuita is a problematic ship yet it's getting a lot of spotlight. Hell, Gege had drawn them dancing in the snow together on love day. "Yet they're related!! How could Gege :(". Well... they could lol. They clearly don't give a shit (and I say good for them!)

He also forced him to call him brat and constantly think about him even while fighting others. The power Yuuji holds is, after all, that strong. He even forced him to change his own viewpoint and got him to hold his waist in that official art because he's now capable of using abilities which allow him to control Sukuna's actions. 👍

I was never “popular” at school. Not that I ever cared to be. I don't have the personality for it. And I don't really care to have the personality for it either. I'm not and never will be That Girl™ material, a “high-value woman”, or whatever feminine persona is trendy on TikTok these days (and i'm not even ON TikTok, but ofc the trends spread everywhere like wildfire) because I don't look the part (nor do I want to...i quite like my personal style) or think or speak or act the way she would if it goes against my values and/or it won't actually improve my wellbeing. I say I don't care. And I really truly don't because a lot of it and what it leads to is straight-up problematic for my personal case, running counter to the life I want to live and all my reasons why. But as with anything, being yourself has its pros and cons.

Sometimes I still feel like it's hard to truly belong anywhere...even the places I make for myself like this blog... Sometimes when I feel like this, I feel like the only place I most belong is in my head. It's not good. That's not where I need to be, nor do I need to be much concerned about trends on social media and what drives people to follow them. And I certainly don't need to compare myself to anyone else. I need to be in the real world and focused on my work only because I think it's worth it and because I think I'm worth it as I am.

filling in CBT workbook because i can't get the reflection questions out of my head until i answer them... 😣 so far, nothing new has been revealed to me, but in the busy-ness of the day-to-day, i tend to neglect ALL the other dimensions of my life and then forget that that's why i feel so shitty and the problem is the self-prompted reflection i tend to do at this time carries a lot of negativity and pessimism and comparison and judgment and it's not very organized, it's actually not organized at all, it's always just a word vomit. but when i do it now, with the tone of the categorized prompts not being judgy at all, i'm able to look at my problems more objectively and holistically and like "oh okay, i'm not doing as bad in this dimension as i thought and the REAL problem is this other dimension of life and all the specific things you mention are lacking here" and idk, sometimes i think it's weird that my brain works this way, it's like i was looking at the same picture the entire time and all i had to do was turn it a bit to the left for it to make sense. is this how brains normally work? 😅

Yes i did colour it digitally i use ibis paint x so I'll explain how to do it w tht idk about other drawing apps so

It's not really that complicated you just take a picture of your drawing put it in the app n set it to extract line

Doing that makes it transparent so you can just colour under the sketch layer

Tho fair warning the colours you use will get a lil greyed cause they're under the paper layer if you don't care you can just use your normal colour

For the glow effects i take the colour layer n put it on top of the sketch layer n give it an overlay layer

You gotta have the same colour you want to glow on the other colour layer under the sketch or the colour won't show

So uh yeah idk 👍

HERE'S HOW I THINK LEGO MOVIE CHARACTERS WOULD PREPARE AND MAKE DRAFTS

Batman

• Fairly good at drawing. Somehow able to draw straight lines without a ruler perfectly fine every single time but otherwise nothing super noteworthy (he does brag about this constantly however)

• Drafts in white and yellow posca pen??? will use white colored pencil for finer detail however, specifically one of those mechanical colored pencils

• Drafts on black paper because he thinks it makes his designs cooler (it doesn't)

• Dimensions in imperial and would be annoyed if you dare even *insinuate* he use metric. no justification here

• Doodles around his drafts, specifically likes to doodle bats and himself because he, once again, thanks it makes his drafts cooler (the bats kinda do)

• Refuses to leave notes on his designs. you either know what to do or you don't

• Does however write his drawing title obnoxiously large

• Used autocad for like a day, hated it, switched to solidworks and never went back

• Buys autodesk licenses for the rest of the masterbuilders. unwillingly, mind you, wyldstyle just knows his credit card information and abuses it

Benny

• Good at drawing exclusively spaceships. big shock i know

• The king of eyeballing a line or an angle and then labelling it however the fuck he wants. proper measurements take time he could spend drafting or making more spaceships, he'll save measuring and straightedges for drafts he deems important enough

• Uses blueprinting paper. there's no practical purpose for this, he just digs it

• Drafts with whatever writing utensil is on hand

• He gets inspired quite often so he usually keeps a drafting notepad on him just in case

• Leaves a *lot* of notes. Most of them are completely unnecessary and are a funny contrast to his haphazard dimensioning

• Pretty dang good at autocad! Usually reserves it for projects that require a lot more collaboration however

• Usually drafts in metric, can dimension in imperial but prefers not to

• 100% sets autocad to the light background like a monster

• Do not give him any 3d modelling software, he might blow up the computer

Emmet

• Either really good or really bad at drawings (obvs leaning towards bad. we remember the break in plans)

• Dimensions in imperial. I cant justify this one he just does. god bless america or something idk

• Owns a couple drafting pencils but rarely uses them, most of the time he drafts in marker or pen much to the chagrin of anyone who needs to read his drafts (or delight if you're unikitty)

• Started learning how to use autocad after taco tuesday and he's actually pretty good at it! he does use an architectural dimstyle for everything though which is particularly annoying when he's quite often not drafting buildings now

• Has labelled and colored layers 👍 enough said

• Uses disgustingly thick lineweights. horrible.

• Rarely if ever 3d models so he's not good at it, he mostly works on things that 2d conveys better anyways

• Although he's not the best drafter of the master builders, his construction background makes him the best at reading drafts, give him a unikitty draft and he can decipher it like it's nothing

Metalbeard

• Probably the best at drafting of the master builders, he's got the age advantage and lots of practice from making ships

• Drafts in pencil, quill, or charcoal depending

• Who needs straightedges or angle stencils when youre basically a pirate cyborg, expect robot like precision

• Doesn't use standard measuring conventions, instead opts to use the dumbest things possible. The Sea cow's units of measurement were seagulls. It isnt that he cant do normal units of measurement, he just prefers his made up ones

• Makes his drafting paper by himself

• Pretty good with 2d and 3d modelling surprisingly. He doesn't like either, however, he much prefers drafting on paper

• Leaves an average amount of notes on his drafts but has the most disgustingly fancy cursive and writes in his piratey english. Often a nightmare to read if you aren't used to his writing

• Will sometimes do blueprint swaps with Benny wherein they critique each other's work. not sure when they started doing it, but it's become a weekly activity for them

Unikitty

• Worst drafter of the main masterbuilder crew. Most people think it's because she's a cat but no she just doesnt take drafting seriously in the slightest

• Drafts like she's making an arts and crafts project. She has put several bottles of glitter on singular drafts and she will do it again

• Dimensions in rainbows, no knows what this means other than emmet

• Gives the longest, most complicated titles possible

• No such thing as straight lines

• Is entirely capable of drafting properly, just refuses to

• Leaves notes that are entirely unrelated to the draft. she wont tell you how youre supposed to connect two objects but she *will* tell you about the sandwich she ate while making the draft

• Doesnt use autocad, looks too boring

• Didnt use any 3d modelling softwares until she realized you can change the appearance of materials. that was a game changer. still much prefers drafting on paper though

• Likes drafting with emmet sometimes since he seems to be the only person who understands her drawings. to this day no one understands how he does it

Vitruvius

• Going blind has, surprisingly, not made him much worse at drafting, just changed his process a bit

• Drafts in pencil

• Probably the person who least frequently drafts of the main masterbuilders. On account of just not needing to and also on account of being dead

• Dimensions in the old anglo-saxon units of measurement

• Doesn't title his drafts and doesnt see a point in doing so

• Leaves the most vague, utterly confusing notes on his drawings. theyre still related to the drawings unlike unikitty's notes, but theyre very odd

• Doesn't use autocad or 3d modelling softwares, partially because he wouldnt really be able to on account of being blind but also partially because he doesn't really know what they are

• There isnt really much to say about his drafting skills he's about as normal of a drafter as a masterbuilder can be

Wyldstyle

• An engineering teacher's dream student. She may not have the amount of experience metalbeard has but she's still very skilled

• Doesn't like drafting on paper and won't if she doesn't have to

• When she does draft on paper she uses a drafting mechanical pencils. she also 100% collects them

• dimensions in metric to exactly 3 decimal places

• leaves very few if any notes (always very concise ones if included)

• has a case of staedtler stencils that she bought 4 years ago and never uses

• picked up a habit of doodling on drafts from batman but will never admit she got the habit from him

• Autocad PRO. Also really damn good at solidworks and fusion. Give this girl a computer and she'll give you a motorcycle assembly within the hour

• Specializes in automotives

• Spends time with Emmet on the weekends teaching him how to use digital drafting softwares (this process was incredibly frusturating at first but gets easier with time)

first thing's first, download playcover first and then go here and use one of the sites (decrypt or armconverter) to download the ipa file for wuthering waves. go to playcover, click on the "+" sign and click on the ipa file so wuwa will show up in the app library. the app title won't be in english, idk why or if it's normal

after that, go here and download the zip file for the FIXED FILE of the app. once its done downloading, click on the zip file so it'll turn into a folder.

then, go back to playcover app library and right click the wuthering waves app and select "open app data". you're gonna be taken to your finder and see a bunch of folders and shit and at the bottom should be a "wuthering waves" folder.

BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING, make sure you have TWO finders app open. delete the wuthering waves folder from the "open app data" thing, and then DRAG OVER the wuthering waves folder that was once a zip file that you downloaded from the google doc link i sent you (aka, the fixed file). drag it over to the spot the old wuwa folder once was.

after that, you can exit and return to playcover and click on the wuthering waves app!

it should work for you and after signing in and picking your server, it'll tell you the release date. the release date for me is may 22 at 7 pm, but it told me that the release date is may 23. i was confused at first, but someone on discord told me that it's apparently supposed to show the server's launch date, not MY launch date, so don't panic if you're not shown your appropriate date.

no i don't use booktok or tiktok in general. in fact, i have a very old man yells at cloud attitude towards it lol. i do watch lots of booktube tho and get some recs from there, however it's important to remember: many people are hyping up a book >> probably not a good rec🙅‍♀️ "if so many people like it i might like it too" that's the fomo devil talking! one booktuber is swearing by a book you have never heard of and gushing about it in their every other video >> probably a good rec👍that's how i came across the aurelian cycle and the winnowing flame. idk maybe it works on booktok the same way if you follow the right people but. i don't trust that app😅

other recs i get from my trusted mutuals on tumblr bc these are people who enjoy the same type of sophisticated literature as i do so when one of them mentions they read and liked a book my interest is peaked. when they constantly mention it it has the same effect as when your mutual reblogs three gifsets of a show - now you just have to watch it bc you know from previous experience you will likely enjoy it. i think i first heard of doctrine of labyrinths in worldhoppers' underrated fantasy video but it would've sat on my goodreads tbr forlornly till the end of time had i not found out that it's popular with the lymond crowd - no rec is more reliable than that😌

finally, good book recs tend to come from obscure rec lists i perused on tumblr or on goodreads or on some old-fashioned book blog several years ago, added them to my tbr and then forgot. but bc i like to update my tbr regularly i go through the 1000+ books i have on goodreads each year in order to decide if i want to move them up my priority list and inevitably discover some hidden gems i scavenged this way back when i was getting back into reading. for example, i found the dreamhealers series and the memoirs of lady trent on the aroace characters database and i found nino cipri's litenverse on one of the numerous queer sff rec lists here on tumblr.

generally tho there is no perfect source of book recs that works all the time. understanding your own tastes and choosing books accordingly is a skill you develop by trial and error and no matter how good you get at curating your reading many books you pick up will likely disappoint you nonetheless🤷‍♀️

I almost went to french jail yesterday… STORYTIME 😭😭😭

Yall so i havent been posting much lately but its bc i was busy and exploring before i leave to america right. So boom so yesterday i decided to go to ITALY ON THE TRAIN…. Its only like a 50 min train ride ok. So boom i buy a 10euro ticket to go there, but i didnt buy a return ticket bc i was so confident they wouldnt gaf (so far i kept buying return tickets and they never checked so i wasted money fr). Ight so boom

I go sit on the train On my way! Back to france. And after 1 stop…. 6 POLICE OFFICERS COME INTO THE TRAIN….. AND I WAS LIKE DAMN WHATS HAPPENING? So i ask these ladies next to me what the police was asking us and she said “he is asking for your passport and train ticket” IGHT SO BOOM I START LOWKEY PANICKING RIGHT BECAUSE I HAD NO PASSPORT AND NO TRAIN TICKET LMFAOOO 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 DOUBLE HOMICIDE

so i was like oh my god wtf am i gonna do and so i start digging thru my notes app and showed the police officer a scanned picture of my passport (thank me for having that fr) and the police officer goes okay thanks 👍 so i was getting prepared for him to ask me for my ticket but instead all the police start interrogating this guy who was sitting next to us and asked if he had a ticket. The guy said no, so they escorted him out the train IMMEDIATELY. And so boom im looking outside the window and i see 6 police officers surrounding that man as he was scrambling through his backpack for smt idk. And the train leaves. And i was soooo relieved THANK YOU FOR THAT MAN FOR BEING THERE LMFAOOOO LIKE I COULDVE GOTTEN FINED idk abt jail though im just hyperbolizing but damn i just found it really funny how i literally crossed the border without any identification nor ticket on me lmaoooo. Like im so stupid help

hello! beginner artist here, can i possibly have some art tips from you?

Uuuhhhh ummm uhhhh idk what I'm doing half the time and mostly just try again and again until it gets right, but here's some stuff I've learned along the way

-Proportionwise, the elbows end at the waist, the wrist at the crotch, one hand usually makes up one side of the face up to the brow but it can be a bit smaller or bigger, the thighs and lower leg bit is around the same I think and the feet is the length of the forearm. That's only really useful if you're going for a style that has more realistic proportions tho.

-Idk shite about colour theory but I abuse the hell out of the colour wheel. I like to use complementary colours (colours opposite the colour wheel) either to have the characters stand out against the background n other stuff or for character design eg. two friends who complement each other's predominant colours complement each other. Idk if that makes sense.

-Grain effect is yummy

-If you want a character design that's strong the silhouette is important. Base it off shapes and stuff. Like, if you drew the outline of a character, would you be able to draw in the main shapes that make it up? I don't really follow this since I rely more on fashion and facial/body features to differentiate my characters, but I've heard from a lot of artist that this is a good technique

-Bodyyyyyys. Different body types, different shapes. If you struggle with drawing different body types, you could try seeing what shapes make up the body, like if you have access to a digital art app you can download images of people with different body types and draw on the shapes as an excersize or something idk. But yeah separating them into shapes helps.

-Abuse the hell out of reference even if you look goofy doing it. I do it a lot with hands since they're hard to draw (separate them into shapes for help!)

-With drawing people of different ethnicities/races there's a lot I can say but ultimately don't draw them racistly, look up POC artists who give art tutorials since their word is best and try your best to integrate ethnic features into your style. There's a lot of tutorials online I'm too lazy to write everything out plus this post is already very long haha

-Idk how to draw backgrounds sorry mate I just wing it or use reference

-What's most important to remember is that your style is your own. It's great to take inspiration from other people, but if an artist tells you that your drawing is bad because of the style (like it's not even a proper critique to help you improve it's something petty like 'I dont draw eyes like that so you shouldn't either!') just ignore it because art is art.

Fuck I just read that you're a beginner artist and this is probably too much info. Uhhh hopefully at least some of this was helpful 👍

I think we got way too used to Reddit and how many arguments we got into on that site because whenever we have a bunch of notifications in our activity feed we get a mini heart attack like “Oh fuck what’d we do to piss people off this time” but then it turns out to be likes/reblogs or other positive interactions

Or maybe that’s just bc we have anxiety and expect bad stuff to happen/assume people will hate us, idk

But yeah I had a real “Oh god did Emyr get into another argument” moment when I opened this app to like 30+ interactions 💀 Notification jumpscare

Hopefully that knee-jerk reaction will go away over time, the little panic spike on seeing a bunch of notifications isn’t very fun. We’ve found tumblr’s community to be a lot more welcoming, here’s hoping the staff stops trying to fuck it up 👍

But hey, we can always migrate again if things don’t turn out well here. It’s the community we love, not the site. So if they move, we can just move with them.
