I want to add I based this cheetah's markings off of Kike's! A female cheetah of whom I read a little on Big Cat Diary: Cheetahs, she appears on the cover of the book and was very loved by the authors

Y'all I just had a tasty as headcanon - what if Gert was Vi's prison Gf.

I found out people are shipping them already which is fun, but most seem to be during the s2 time skip which doesn't make sense to me personally but go ahead. But think about if they already knew each other?

To begin with, they match. Something about Gert was supposed to remind Jinx of Vi (at least in my interpretation: Approval from a cool older punk girl, with side bangs and lip scar, yeah)

Maybe she picked up Vi's hairstyle; she'd already busted a lip in prison, may as well match the hair too. Or maybe she helped Vi learn how to properly cut/style her hair. But we already know Gert likes to emulate the style of people she admires.

Maybe Vi told her about her family, about Powder, who had been what kept her going through her time there. Having someone to tell about all the trouble they used to get up to, how proud she was of her genius, blue haired little sister who would someday change the world.

Maybe Gert got out a few years before Vi did, promising to look out for her sister if she ever found her. She hears about Silco's daughter, a trigger-happy terror of a girl with blue hair. Could this Jinx really be the Powder Vi spoke so highly of? That sweet, bright little kid? Of course not.

Besides, it's none of her business to get caught up with some chembaron's crazy henchman. But she decides to keep an eye out for news of her anyway. For no particular reason.

Then, she hears about Jinx fighting back against Piltover, blowing up the council, redirecting the Grey that enforcers had used to terrorize Zaun and flooding topsides streets using her own ingenuity and inventions. Gert knows now that this is what Vi meant. Jinx was going to change the undercity for the better.

Finally meeting Jinx face to face in stillwater, there was no doubt the resemblance between the sisters. She feels proud of Jinx, herself and on behalf of the Vi she knew, seeing the symbol of hope Vi's sister grew up to be.

What if this is the first and last time Gert and Vi saw each other since stillwater.

Maybe that's why Vi is so surprised she's there, figures things out by her blue hair. That Gert had kept her promise and looked for Powder, finding Jinx and supporting her. Why Gert instantly reached to her for support, recognising that scared, too-tough girl she'd once cared for. Why Vi doesn't let go of her hand until she's dragged away.

Anyways I have a new headcanon now.

I think they would still be good friends had things worked out differently.

imagine if the shen family was actually a part of the mafia. and shen yuan just never knew.

like his Family is rich and they are all super close. he’s even in contact with some of his distant relatives pretty often, which is kinda cool for him, he’s sure that this isn’t the case for most families so he considers himself lucky to know the extent of his family tree. sure, some of them seem to have lost a marble or two but what family doesn’t have a couple oddballs in their midst, you know?

and its not just sy’s comical obliviousness that contributes to this. his family is well aware that sy is not suited for this life style- especially his siblings. they grew up watching him get himself into all sorts of weird situations and putting himself at a disadvantage simply because he’s too nice. he can try and deny it all he wants (just like how he denies he’s gay- c’mon sy everyone can tell you are not straight) but his sense of justice would only burden him if he were to work for the Family. not to mention his sense of self preservation is absolute shit and they don’t want to have to babysit him his whole life- and he probably doesn’t want that either!

so they send him off to college, help him find an apartment, and basically do everything they can to help him start off on his own, away from the Family. his siblings had to do a whole lot of convincing to let this happen btw- this kind of thing usually isn’t allowed, but sy doesn’t know anything that could be used against the Family, so they make an exception in his case. better for them to not have a deadweight sticking around either is what they say but they all dote on him anyways and refuse to admit they care about him. sy definitely picked up this line of reasoning from them btw.

shen yuan is a little upset and confused that his Family seems eager to send him off (it’s not like they can’t afford for him to live with them after all- both of his older brothers still live in the Family’s massive house and even his aunts and uncles are living there??). he manages to recover quickly though. at least now he can read his web novels in piece without prompting any dick jokes (his cousins had a field day when they found his account with all of his pidw comments…). now he just needs to figure out how to live by himself.

it’s not that sy is incapable of taking care of himself- it’s just that he’s so used to having other people with him that he never understood how much they were doing for him until they were no longer around. but that’s fine, living on your own is just another learning curve and sy is willing to rise up to the challenge. which he did, by the way! he found a job and pays his taxes and even though that isn’t much he still gives himself a mental pat on the back for it. he is still in contact with his siblings, he never misses an update for pidw which he totally doesn’t get excited for and his life is going great.

……until he accidentally eats some expired food and dies.

Currently considering what Chris thinks about religion/death/souls now that I've decided that Leon is firmly atheist (out of hatred and anger), and Piers thinks he is agnostic but realizes that no, actually he has no idea anymore.

In a world with zombies, how fucked up does people's ideas of death/eternal damnation/salvation/morality/souls get?

To be thematic with Chris' characterization, Chris is probably not very religious but believes in some rough concept of God and Heaven and Hell. But conceptually... what does he think of people who turn into BOWs? Have their souls moved on already? Or are they trapped, waiting for someone to 'free' them?

Chris seems like the type to NOT want to think about those complications. Just that when good people die, they can be happy in the afterlife and see the people who passed on before them. Maybe he doesn't so much believe in a hell, but some days he wishes he does because surely some people deserve to suffer for longer than they did on earth. (Chris generally doesn't struggle with the idea of his own morality because Chris firmly believes in what he is doing for much of his life-- religious/moral crisis seems to be a post RE8 thing for Chris).

Leon gave up on religion and god. He sees too much hatred, too much anger, too much violence to want to believe that there is a higher power that started this all, that holds people accountable. It is wishful thinking to believe that bad people get what's coming to them and that good people get what the earn. And besides, if there was heaven and hell? Leon knows he's not going anywhere pleasant. (Leon gets extremely skeptical/critical of religion during his depression/alcoholism era around Vendetta time period. He has killed too many people, almost died too many times. He really really fucking hopes death is nothing at all so he can finally have some fucking rest).

Piers is complicated. He is young, but not that young. I'm making his mother very religious. Piers strayed from religion in the army, finally let her know that he doesn't believe when he was living on his own. She is disappointed (and constantly trying to coax him back, out of love because she wants him to be saved), but for a while Piers doesn't think he is religious anymore... except he is. Just non-denominational. He realizes that he wants to believe that the people he knows will be there in heaven. Especially his fellow soldiers that die in combat-- that there is something peaceful waiting for them on the other side. (Talking to Leon when they all think Leon is on death's door made Piers realize just how firmly he still believes in some concept of an afterlife, especially because of how bothered and upset he gets when Leon insists there is nothing but the end of his own existence waiting for him if Leon bleeds out). Not to mention, Piers desperately wishing that if there is a heaven after all, that he is there waiting for his mom when she passes so that she won't be distraught when she gets there.
