My page for @kairizine. It was such a huge honor to be part of this wonderful book with everyone, I had so much fun!
[id in alt!]
#kingdom hearts#kh#kh kairi#kh xion#kh namine#i don't really feel proud of my own stuff usually but#i really think this is the drawing i'm most proud of from this past year!! it made me think 'oh maybe i can draw' haha#i'm still kinda bad with colors but something clicked with this one. and i feel like i got the sentimental feeling i wanted!#ooh but this project's about flower symbolism so ramble incoming:#protea symbolizes resilience transformation and diversity; hollyhock means 'please remember me.'#so my general theme was finding a sense of self.#these 3 have struggled with finding their own identity; they tend to get left behind both in-universe and in general plotwise#and namin and xion both resemble kairi and were overshadowed by her memory. but i feel like all 3 have transformed into their own people#xion and naminé have their faces covered partially by hollyhock to show their wish to be remembered for who they are-#instead of the parts that they share with someone else#and the protea bouquets show how they each held on and resiliently grew into their own person despite it all#i put a little swervy path on the hill behind kairi to give that hopeful sense of growth and moving forward. it's a little hard to see#hopefully that makes sense! i really love symbolism but i think in visuals so i'm really bad with words#but gosh working with everyone on this project was so fun. it was like impossible not to get swept up by the team's hype for this zine#i need to hunt down everybody's work and rb it#ohh and everybody's flowers are so crisply drawn it's insane!! i think if i lined all these flowers and leaves i'd die haha#fan art#my art#project stuff

Otherkin beings, alterhumans, nonhumans, therians.
Send me an ask and tell the world what you are. Use as many or few words as you want without censoring yourself. It can be written like a poem or straight forward and simple. Do what feels right for you.
My goal is to collect and archive until we have enough entries to make a zine out of it that can be downloaded and passed around for free. I want to make our voices less quiet.
❗️We have enough entries! Look at the pinned post to see what’s next.
How it works
You send me an ask. Short and simple example:
“I’m a ___.”
I will post your ask (I'll use the queue to space the posts out a bit) and put it down on the zine as:
“I’m a ___.” -Anonymous
If you don’t want to be cited as anonymous, you need to tell me. Like this, for example:
“I’m a ___. -Blue”
You can ad as much information as you want. An example:
“I’m a ___. -Blue, they/them, 21”
That would look like this in the zine:
“I’m a ___.” -Blue, they/them, 21
I hope I explained it in an easy to understand way!
I will cite the asks exactly how I receive them, including things that I think are typos. I don’t want to accidentally change something that was done on purpose. If you want to correct a mistake you’ve made, just comment under the respective post. I can’t allow this for anons because I need a way to know the request comes from the being that made the original ask.
Update
We already have over 30 entries! Given that number, I can confidently say that this zine will happen. I already started working on it. I'm excited!
(Some of these entries are bringing me to tears omg /pos)
❗️We have enough entries! Look at the pinned post to see what’s next.
Informational posts and basically anything about the zine, my process and eventual questions I may have -> #other info

Well, I wanted to have a comic finished for Trans Day of Visibility, but I’ve been working nonstop for 27 straight hours and it’s just not gonna happen before midnight. So instead, I’ll post the first three pages as a peek.
Once I’m able to finish the rest of the ten pages (I have about three and a half pages left to ink, type, and tone), I’ll post the whole thing! It’s a discussion of the intersection of DID and transness. The peek is just the introduction to it.
View at full size —screen tones can look wonky when zoomed out too far.
Happy Trans Day of Visibility!
final version is complete!

but fr outside of my contracted madness i absolutely refuse to give joe alwyn gold rush like how is that song at all related to their relationship the lyrics clearly spell out a relationship that either never existed or only existed in implication and fantasies and maybe-maybe nots and its so bitter and yet desperately soft in the bridge where it almost projects a sense of envy, of wanting to be them as much as you want them. It continues an interesting oft ignored lyrical trend of taylor wanting just as much to be her lover as to have them, envying their easy charisma (you were flush with the currency of cool/i was always turning out my pockets) or quiet dignity (your integrity makes me seem small) dating back to her earliest songs (the kind of flawless i wish i could be). Theres a projected self hatred and yearning to be better that twists itself into both romantic and sexual lust for her partners thats so fascinating and speaks to how all of her songs regardless of who theyre about are also an act of self reflection on who she is and who she wishes to be.
#barry.txt#taylor swift#putting this in the tags as a form of self protection but make no mistake this is a gay thing to do especially in gold rush#which through simple context clues is Obviously About A Woman or maybe even women in general#whivh is a totally seperate post on how taylor constructs and uses gender identity in her music#her girlhood and femininity are earnest but also so carefully constructed and so high effort and kind of desperate#shes a deeply self concious and obsessive person who never looks comfortable in anything ever unless shes#onstage or like. by herself in loose jeans and a tshirt#i think thats one of the things that subconsciously irritate ppl when it comes to her shes constantly and clearly putting in effort#to appear As The Celebrity Taylor Swift and struggles not to self censor or overperform in interviews (when she gives them)#especially present in pre 1989 interviews where the interviewers really didnt have to respect her or worry abt how they frame her#if they didnt want to. Like the fearless era rolling stone interview where she almost has a meltdown over her mom buying eggnog instead of#milk. That whole interview is strange looking back not just bc of the weird misogyny but also because of what it does share#taylor is....weird. She has a strange and desperate vibe and always reacts slightly too much and uses slang poorly#shes media trained and has learned how to socialize but you can feel her discomfort whenever she doesnt have a guitar in her hand#idk these tags have once again gotten so unweildy. i just find it interesting that she finally feels some level of comfortable#in sharing that construction w us in songs like mirrorball and mastermind and imo gold rush#and scene#should i write this up and put it in the swiftieism zine#i should write something and put it in the swiftieism zine

New fic!
Sorta? I wrote it over a year ago, but it only recently saw publication in Everybody Loves Hajime ( @everybodyloveshajime ). With permission from our awesome mods, the zine's talented contributors can now share their stuff online!
My piece is a story about Hajime taking Imposter out for a meal of big, greasy burgers. As they dine, they chat on the subject of shifts in personality. Why? Oh, no reason. Thanks to @catgrump for reviewing and editing each draft, and for making my first zine experience a wonderful one.

When I was Kerouac I was the outsider identifying in perhaps dangerous, naive ways with other, more obviously marginalized groups, because I wanted everyone to see that I could not fit into mainstream White America, even if to most I seemed like I could (Ti Jean with joual tongue ‘til the age of seven, me queer as a three-dollar bill.) I was the outsider always observing, even amongst crowds of friends at the happiest times I was writing it all down in my notebook or in my mind, collecting the stories, the places, the names of all the people in the legend of my life, archiving the hidden America of criminal teenagers, prostitutes in donut shops, the smoke-stained walls of greasy spoons, dark dealings under bridges, the wildflowers growing up through the cracks in an empty lot. I was the memory babe telling the stories of the lovers I’d lost, the brothers I’d lost, the sisters I’d never had. I was the young writer trying to find my voice, not even knowing who I was, not even knowing my own true name. And sometimes, when it all got to be too much, I was the one fallingdown drunk, or sitting in the corner alone with my brooding glooms.
