I know I’m primarily a Claude.leth and Edel.thea shipper, but Edelclaude is such an interesting and tragic dynamic - whether romantic or not. The way they have different shades of the same goal but such radically different lines in the sand haunts me. The fact that they both recognize this and acknowledge it in VW as they face each other for the last time. Their battle dialogue. The way Claude talks to Byleth beforehand about deeply desiring to work something out with Edelgard - both because he wants the least amount of bloodshed and because he finally understands that the two of them want the same thing.

I also find it interesting that it is an option for Edelgard to spare Claude at Derdriu during CF. Most units that can be saved can only be spared by Byleth themself, or are a special case like Lysithea. (I think this is all true, at least. It’s been a hot minute since I’ve played CF and I can’t find anything that confirms this 100%.)

The drama? The tragedy? Two incredibly stubborn people who long to work side by side to build a better world together but cannot truly compromise? I have such a soft spot for them - especially as a heart wrenching “what if”.

And, unlike a lot of people I’ve seen talk about it, I was very excited to see Claude and Edelgard team up in Three Hopes. I’m not saying it’s perfect execution or anything, but it was so nice to see a hypothetical where they work together towards common goals.

rewrite x shadow is fundamentally hilarious bc it is so fucked. its so fucked. guy whos entire being is built on love and the desire to help others, was nearly corrupted by a desire for revenge and later greed but saw the correct path and confidently took it time and time again & cares abt so many people but tries to hide it x guy who was made exclusively out of greed & malice who fucked around and is yet to find out, hurting as many people as they can for their own amusement and to sustain themself, & doesnt give a shit abt anyone but generally pretends not to. how would they even meet. why are they even dating. nobody knows
