Dyrroth is a overly possessive yandere, nothing goes unnoticed from his eyes. You're his and his alone, you're his property and everyone should know that. Dyrroth is needy, he needs you by his side 25/8, if you're not gonna do that he'll either be your shadow or drag you by the wrist wherever he goes.

The Abyss prince hates, hates seeing you being so close with others, especially with those moniyan scums. That damn demon hunter giving you one of his warm smiles, the reassuring shoulder squeeze that Fanny gave you, the way Harith's eyes glint whenever he looks at you, yeah, Dyrroth is shattering rocks with his hands.

Okay now i've finished Adventure let me write up my full thoughts about the season. This will be less structured than the Tamers review and I apologise for that, I just kind of had a different watching experience with Adventure and thus sort of format my feelings about it in a different way idk. Whatever the case, here’s my full review of Adventure under the cut, and if you don’t care about that, then here’s the TLDR;

I liked adventure! I had a lot of fun watching it. It’s not a perfect season, but nothing is, and whilst I am going to take a break for now, I'm excited to start Digimon Adventure 02 in the foreseeable future.

-First, I do want to highlight things I really enjoyed. I really loved the animation and art style- I know its seen as very cheesy and dated and not the best animated (Most notable example that comes to mind is reusing the animation for special moves) but IDC, I love the cartoony style and I've always been very endeared to older styles of animation and how they make use of the medium.

-I liked the kids! I liked the kids a lot! They’re good kids! The cast of adventure is absolutely a highlight, and I can see why Bandai always goes back to them for use in future projects, whether or not that’s ultimately a good thing.

-Whilst I personally prefer the more Urban Sci-fi / Fantasy settings of Tamers and Savers, The Isekai approach lends itself to be a good way to immediately show off the digital world and the creatures within it, and to start exploring the worldbuilding within. I like the worldbuilding of Adventure! It felt kind of more purposely vague then Tamers and Savers, but it’s an interesting world they set up, and I'd like to see more of it explored

-I missed the global aspect of Tamers and even Savers. Though I can’t really fault Adventure, being as it was literally THE first season ever, for staying strictly in Japan. I just personally enjoyed how large and expansive things got in Tamers, and how people from all over the world were involved. I will say, I did appreciate Adventure also having more unorthodox or complicated family dynamics- such as Yamato and Takeru being the kids of divorce who aren’t able to 24/7 be around each other, or how Koushiro is adopted. It’s always a breath of fresh air to see media, especially for kids, tackle these sorts of things with nuance and grace.

-The soundtrack was absolutely gorgeous. Probably my favourite out of all of the soundtracks so far- there was just so much passion and emotion packed into each musical piece.

-Tone and themes were fairly consistent throughout, mostly due to the fact that Adventure doesn’t really have any sort of grand overarching messaging like Tamers or Savers did. I would assume, due to being again, the first season of anime, it cared more about plot and characters than trying to Say anything too radical. Hence, the themes follow pretty standard “good versus evil” tropes, as well as the power of compassion and community and optimism and hope that digimon usually utilises in each of its different stories across mediums, instead of anything more complex, like Tamers attempts at dissecting morality and violence, and Savers discussing the inherent value of lives that aren’t humans and trying to understand those not like you. Adventure plays it safe, and doesn’t get burned because of it, which I can’t fault.

-The villains are. Eh. They’re entertaining but none of them are necessarily very well written. The most well written villain was Pinochimon, and ignoring that i'm a biased party, most people seem to agree with me on this. Vamdemon was definitely the most intimidating and well built up antagonist. Apocalymon has a really cool and sympathetic concept, and I wish he had been focused on more. Generally, due to the nature of Adventure's “good versus evil” tropes, a lot of the villains aren’t really allowed any sort of nuance or are portrayed in a “They're Inherently Damnable Let's Kill Em” sort of way, which is unfortunate. Only Ogremon top of my head really gets any sort of minor redemption at the end without dying for it, ala Wizarmon, Gottsumon and Pumpkinmon.

-Like Tamers, Adventure is much more open to the idea of making horny jokes and talking about romance, which I do not enjoy, and it was by far the worst one when it came to that in my opinion. Why were there so many jokes about masc digimon hitting on Mimi. Stop that right this instant.

-Generally, I would say plot and character writing is a mixed bag. None of it is necessarily godawful, but you can tell that Adventure was very haphazardly and sloppily written. There’s a lot of inconsistencies in the writing- a lot of new characters or story elements are sort of abruptly added out of nowhere with no real build up and which sometimes ultimately don’t really matter all that much. It has definitely the worst pacing out of the seasons I've seen so far- Again, Building up momentum to then just suddenly stop and spill exposition on you. Savers and Tamers had issues too, but their handling of the plot was usually much tighter and the writing much more concise. Whilst I love the kids, and they do definitely get their own character arcs, none of them are written equally in that regard and often times it leads to situations where some characters get their arcs finished early and then stay stagnant for the rest of the season (Sora and Koushiro) whilst others only get major character writing near the very end (Yamato). It also definitely played favourites with some of them lol. Random things will interject in pivotal moments and the arcs for each different villain all have entirely different vibes to one another. Truthfully, it does come across as a much of mini stories hazily slapped together in an attempt to create a Larger Grander Narrative. Which, again, it was their first attempt ever creating an anime for Digimon, so I suppose I can’t blame them too much for this. It’s a miracle this took off so well in the first place.

Again, there’s definitely stuff I'm missing that i'd have wanted to say, but as a whole, again, I like Adventure! It’s not my favourite season of the digimon anime, and I can definitely understand the frustration for Bandai constantly milking it as a cash cow for the nostalgia points. But, I do think as a whole it holds up for the most part, at least for a kids anime from the late 90s, and Again, I don’t regret having watched it.

Spiral Mountain has peak music and it’s a great tutorial level.

Gruntilda’s Lair is amazing with how whimsical it is, Grunty having her face plastered in almost every room, each world’s entrance looking like it’s from an indoor play place, the music! It’s great!

Mumbo’s Mountain is definitely a first world, nothing too crazy going on but nothing is truly bad about, comparing it to first world of Tooie tho there’s far less stuff to do, I mean Tooie does start you with all the moves from the previous game so makes sense. A pretty decent first world.

I died multiple times in Treasure Trove Cove for some reason, but it’s a pretty good world as well! I have no strong opinions on it like Mumbo’s Mountain but it’s definitely a step up compared to it.

Clanker’s Cavern is a good water level idc what anyone says, you hardly spend that much time actually under water, even when you are the longest you’ll be in it is when you’re releasing Clanker of his chains. You spend most of it on, in, or around Clanker, ITS A GOOD WATER LEVEL AND A GOOD WORLD!

Bubble Gloop Swamp is definitely another world lmao, nothing bad about it again I just have no strong opinions on it, it definitely exist, I will give it props to having some memorable set pieces like the giant gator head and the huge turtle.

Freezeezy Peak is one of the best snow worlds, one reason is that ice physics don’t suck mainly due to Kazooie, and also CHRISTMAS ITS ALL CHRISTMAS THEMED, gets you into the festive vibe just by listening to the music and looking at all the set pieces! I did lose to Boggy twice someone, my hatred for Boggy has now been established. It’s also the only time you absolutely need to backtrack and I think it’s fine in this game.

Golbi’s Valley sucks mainly because I usually remember what jiggies are where with the set pieces around them, EVERYTHING IS SAND AND PYRAMIDS HERE IT SUCKS! My personal worst world in Banjo-Kazooie but not because it’s actually bad but because of the fact I can’t remember where anything is.

I can’t remember a single thing I did in Mad Monster Mansion, which is weird because I like it but I guess there aren’t any like really memorable set pieces bedsides the main mansion in the center of the level and the maze I guess. It’s still really good and gives off the Halloween vibe!

I actually don’t dislike Rusty Bucket Bay as much as I would’ve thought, especially compared to a certain other world. You only need 3 things in the oily water and it’s not that hard to not fall off into the water so it’s not really an issue, and the Xbox version fixes the music notes issue so the engine room is fine, I mean I never usually die in there anyways but ya know lmao. Only gripe I have with it is there’s no set pieces other than the Boat itself, and I did have to look up where the last empty honey comb was (didn’t have to look up anything else in any other world) but ya know pretty decent world!

Idk if it was because I was really tired and it was late but Click Clock Wood has gone to one of my favorite worlds to one of my least favorites, it’s mainly due to the fact I kept falling down the damn tree and the fucking birds have horrible hit boxes and would knock me down the tree whenever I would try to kill them. Other than those two things the concept of going to through the same level multiple times but the seasons change showing the passage of time really cool! The winter section is probably my favorite but that’s probably because there’s no birds and hardly any enemies. I did have to look up where the last jiggy was for this world, I forgot that there was one in spring all the way at the top you need to get with the bee lmao. Pretty good stage I just hate the birds.

There was no denying that they were pinned down and escape was farther from their reach than they hoped. Maxine knew that Ghost would go down fighting as hard as he could, but for her- this was too much. Her brain was in overdrive and the noise, the accelerated racing of her heart, the feel of the gun in her hands- it was overstimulating to say the least. If her soul could leave her body, she was sure it happened just now. 

“Sinclair, gun up!” Ghost urged, shooting her a look she couldn’t quite read. 

Maxine takes a deep breath and closes her eyes, mustering up everything in her to push up on the barrier and aim and fire. She counts for every shot she makes as if it grounded her, taking her mind off of how close she was to losing herself. Even if she couldn’t do it for herself, there was no use in putting the Lieutenant in harm's way for her mistakes.

Despite their rocky relationship and the unsureness of his feelings towards her and her own feelings towards him, she had grown attached to the man. After everything and how far they had gotten, she would never forgive herself if something happened to him here and now. 

“Nice shot.” He praises. A steady hand aims without fail and a focused eye through his scope watches as their targets go down. “Movement to the left, watch yourself.” 

It’s hard to respond as she scans the left and she frowns when she sees nothing. However, she keeps her gun up and a tense finger on the trigger as she does another sweep. “L.T, I don’t see anything.” 

Ghost takes down an enemy in the window of the building across from them and he quickly looks towards the left, grunting as he lowers his weapon. “We can’t stay here, we need to move.” 

Maxine nods, but before they can budge, gunshots startle both of them and she’s falling forward, gasping like all the air has been knocked from her. Ghost raises his pistol and takes out the offending shooter in one shot while his other arm pulls her closer to him. He drags her back further and around another barrier while he looks out for other surprise visitors. She grips onto his arm weakly, head spinning at the pain shooting through her back.

“You alright?” Ghost questions quickly, glancing down at her. His gaze moves to her arm and then back to her face. “Maxine, answer me.” The use of her name sounded softer than others who have said it before and her mind lingers on that for a moment. A gloved hand touches her cheek and she flinches, but he doesn’t pull away. Dark eyes stare down at her intensely and she feels heat flush her cheeks, pain melting away and suddenly she understands tunnel vision. She can’t look away.

“It hit my vest. I’m okay.” She manages to get the words out, but her throat feels tight and dry. 

Ghost shakes his head and his hand moves down to her arm, just below her shoulder. “And here. Looks like just a graze, though. Lucky to be alive, Sinclair.” 

A part of her wishes he’d say her name again- she liked how it sounded coming from him- but she doesn’t have time to ponder it when he pulls her to her feet. She grits her teeth, holding onto him like her life depended on him, stumbling to find her footing. No matter how many times she’s been shot, she’ll never get used to the pain, bruising, and internal trauma it causes. 

“Backup is on the way to extract us. Try to avoid getting shot again.” He jokes in a rough manner and she frowns at that. “Soap, do you copy?” 

“Copy, L.T. Almost there.” 

“Good. Need a medic on standby.” 

There’s a delay in the response. “Copy that.”

“I’m the medic.” Maxine mutters, following him out and into the warzone again. “I can take care of this myself.” 

Ghost looks back at her for a moment, eyes trailing her figure. “Don’t argue, Sinclair.” 

“Yes, sir.” She sighs, avoiding his gaze now. 

It wasn’t long before they made it out and met up with Soap, who stood with the rest of the team, anxiously waiting. She can see him visibly relax at the sight of the two of them. It takes three of them to get her to actually let the medic do their job, but she finally calmed down and removed her vest. 

It was awkward with Ghost standing there, watching them as if he needed to make sure she wouldn’t run away. The medic bandaged the cut on her arm and lifted her shirt to reveal what damage had been done to her back. She winces at the tenderness and she knows there’s an ugly bruise darkening below her shoulder blade. Another push has her putting her head against the table, breathing heavily. 

“Might be a cracked rib. Hard to tell.” The medic states, lowering her shirt.

Ghost nods and the medic leaves the two of them alone. She hasn’t lifted her head up just yet and she doesn’t know if she wants to. One look at the Lieutenant and she’s sure he’s going to tell her to stay back. No- she’s almost certain that’s what he will say. 

“Ghost, it’s fine.” She whispers, feeling drained now that the adrenaline has faded. “I’m fine.” 

Maxine raises her head and glances over at him, only vaguely surprised he was still there. He was watching her like a hawk, unmoving and once again, something unreadable in his eyes. “Rest a few days. I don’t want you in the field.”  

Anger surges in her as she stands, although maybe too fast, but she manages to stand her ground. “Sir, you can’t do this.” 

Ghost steps forward until he’s only a few inches away and lowers his voice. “Rest, Maxi.” Oh, she could just float away. “You’re no good to me if you’re injured or dead.” 

“Yes, sir.” Her voice is almost too quiet, but she knows that he heard.

Also, I know you love Geto, but I BLAME HIM. It's kinda ironic, in s2 Gojo was ready to massacre a whole bunch of people at one point, and Geto was the one to stop him then only to later become insane himself. One more thing... You said Geto is like Eren, but in my opinion they are nothing alike. In jjk 0 (the movie) Geto behaves like a complete psycho showing no regard for human life. He enjoys torturing and killing people, he doesn't care. "Monkeys" he calls them. Eren is not like that, he's not crazy, he knows what he does is wrong and it kills him, but he is forced to do it anyway. I think that's why I can't really sympathize with Geto... He is almost as despicable as Mahito. No remorse. At least that is how he is portrayed in anime. And to add to all of this he broke Gojo's heart, because he was his one and only best friend. Even Geto's visual design went downhill after he lost his mind. I dunno, I guess I'm just mad and sad because of that spoiler that I read 😔

i actually haven't read the manga!! but, before getting into jjk, i accidentally found myself on jjk twitter (i guess i liked a bunch of fanart or something? idk) and so i've seen all of the major spoilers 😭 even up to now, i know what's going on with the major characters.

it's been a bit since i've seen jjk 0, but from what i can remember, geto doesn't kill any sorcerers, which aligns with his vision of how he wants the world to be. yes, he tries to kill yuuta, but for him, it's a necessary evil to help further his plans.

i still think geto and eren are similar at their core, but their biggest difference is how they "cope" with their decision.

geto dehumanizes non-sorcerers by calling them monkeys so that it's easier for him to wipe them out. whereas eren is emotionally destroyed by what he has to do and has remorse and guilt for his actions... but they're both still doing it for kind of the same reason?

eren is trying to kill all non-eldians because he's trying to save his friends from unnecessary death. after he sees life outside the wall, he's upset that the world allowed eldians to live with such death and horror for so long without doing anything about it.

kinda the same thing w geto. after failing the mission to save riko and then haibara dying and then finding the twins locked up.... he's literally bombarded with proof that non-sorcerers don't care about sorcerers and, in fact, non-sorcerers and their leaking cursed energy is the REASON WHY ALL OF HIS FRIENDS ARE DYING!! so he wants to kill them to save his friends

(also, geto's cursed technique of swallowing curses after exorcising them is just another form of a sacrifice made for ungrateful ppl, so it's an ongoing, painful reminder of that for geto each time he swallows a curse)

geto and gojo's morality flip is also really interesting to me. like you said, how gojo wanted to massacre all those people but geto said no. after that day, gojo works hard to become the strongest so that he doesn't fail (riko dying) like that again. where geto struggles to find meaning behind why he's a jujutsu sorcerer when non-sorcerers have such little regard for him/his friends' life (ie. the star alliance group ppl clapping when they saw riko dead).

i think that had gojo not been so focused on becoming the strongest, he probably would've been there for geto during his morality crisis. maybe gojo would've been able to save geto from "turning evil".... but also maybe geto would've "turned" gojo after talking with yuki. it's an interesting what if scenario.

also there are some things that happen in the manga that i think might change your perception of geto.

Jask mainly listens to Geralt reading old poetry and classic literature, but there are a couple goofy ones that he loves, especially when he’s having an anxious day. 

Geralt filled his request for a few of Edgar Allen Poe’s shorter poems and Jask listens to it at least three times a week.

One day at a work meeting (do i care enough to assign jobs? No. just roll with it), Geralt leans over and asks Jaskier to pass him a pen and Jask’s soul leaves his body for a minute because “holy shit i know that voice wtf hunky work boi is the asmr guy mother of fucking shit balls im going to die right here and now”

Arsenal’s player ratings for Birmingham City vs Arsenal FAWSL Matchday 10 (2-0)

So… it’s actually hard to think of a way to summarise this match because I thought I would be feeling anger and despair (like many others, perfectly justified reaction btw) but honestly as I look back on my viewing experience it was more of just falling deeper and deeper into the pit of disappointment.

A lovely mutual described it as “there’s a lot to be said yet nothing at all.” Which rings true imo. Certainly many things to unpack (the reasons why we looked like we were playing in slow-motion, Jonas completely folding in terms of his tactics and preparation for this game, etc. etc.) but really, it was many of the same things that’s been our downfall since the purple patch ended in mid-November.

Starting XI: Manu — 4.5/10. wasn’t the main culprit of our abysmal performance today and prevented it from getting worse, but those were mostly saves she’s expected to make. can’t say she looked assured in the box when she had that fumble with Lotte and almost let in a third with zero Birmingham players around her. Noelle — 2.5/10. far, very far from the usual composed and reliable Noelle Martiz we’re used to seeing who usually has the right flank locked down without question. misplaced passes all over (which was seriously a recurring theme for practically every player on the pitch today) and she barely supported Beth going forward too. Jen — 1.5/10. i’m done, she’s no longer a player good enough for this club/level of football and today was an undeniable demonstration of why. awful positioning and touches, getting outrun by Pennock and Sari all day long, and god knows what she was doing with that pathetic attempt at clearing the ball for the second goal. i’ve said it before, if you know you have absolutely zero pace to catch up with attackers, you at least have to have some decent positioning so you can give yourself a head start. and yet time and again she was getting caught in no man’s land and balls were slicing open the gaps between her and Boye. she also contributes fuck all when it comes to build up and takes a thousand years to release the ball to the fullbacks or midfielders. when we shift their defensive shape around a bit but then it constantly sits at Jen’s feet for over three or four Mississippis, there’s no option left to play and we have to start from scratch again. i almost pulled my hair out watching our two CBs and their woeful distribution today. ngl, this got on my nerves more than anything today. Simone Boye — 2/10. haven’t seen a single performance from her that’s been close to impressive and am still scratching my head as to why Jonas signed her. our defending and CB situation is just a joke at this point. no disrespect to them because they were fantastic today, but our backline was struggling and looking thoroughly outplayed by a Birmingham offence that had scored a grand total of four goals all season up till today. four. might sound cutthroat or reactionary (since it’s after a stupid loss) but i’m being serious that only Leah and Lotte should be part of our plans going forward. I’m sure they’re lovely people but the rest can be squad players; I don’t want to see them again in front of Manu because they’re going to lose the league title for us. whoever it is we’re signing this transfer window, start them ASAP. idc if they’ve never played in this league before or they’ve had all of one training session, they can’t be worse than this. Katie — 2.5/10. poor. it spoke volumes as to how dire the entire defending situation was when you’ve got the likes of Beth and Mana hanging out around our own corner flag getting so far back to help defend, and Viv dropping ever so deep repeatedly. Katie’s set-pieces and corners have been on a decline too, none of her deliveries came to anything today although it must be said that Birmingham defended crosses from both wings magnificently. always the first head to the ball, and barely let our attackers get a whiff near goal. also, I’m sure I wasn’t the only one who noticed this, but what was up with Katie not passing to Mana at all?? (and later to Jordan too, when those two swapped positions). doesn’t like a vertical pass forward or doesn’t want to receive the layback from the winger in front of her? honestly, it played a big part in stifling our buildup and isolating Mana for a good part of the game. Frida — 3.5/10. no excuse that she wasn’t intended to start, there were just so many situations where she should have done better. i would say she was almost invisible in that midfield and was the player with the least presence out of the three. i mean, the commentators even singled her out with a closeup shot near the end saying that she was playing far below her standards today :( as i’ve said before in my reviews, it’s not the first time she wasn't offering herself as an outlet/option enough to receive a pass from the defenders, and even when she tried to progress the ball it was just passes into nowhere.

Kim — 4/10. had an open net to slot the ball into for the equaliser, but slammed it into the Birmingham defender instead. otherwise, she had one of the better performances in the team, but she was part of a midfield that was culpable in not getting on the ball enough and providing any form of service or final passes to the forwards. one gripe I have is that I didn’t really see a visible impetus from her to rally the team and get everyone to show some fight as the captain when we looked so disjointed… Louise Quinn looked the superior leader and player on the pitch in every way today tbh.

Jordan — 4/10. likewise to Kim, had a killer opportunity 1v1 with the keeper but dinked it past when she should’ve at least been hitting the target. still, I’d say she was lively with her movement and showed some gusto to make things happen. coupled with her mid-range shot that flew into the sun during the first half, i think she actually had the far better scoring opportunities than most of the forwards? idk whether to be sad or happy about that actually...

Beth — 4/10. i mean, everyone could see that she was trying. giving a damn. beautifully clever layoff to Kim in the first half (that she also should’ve done better with) and Beth was doing her best to create on the right side but she was mostly on a solo mission and without support (from anyone! literally, the nearest player always looked at least 7 or 8 yards away from her). unfortunately became a bit of a passenger in the second half but you can’t really blame her for that.

Mana — 4/10. threaded some cute passes and looked one of the most likely to make something happen in the first half, but really it was a subpar day at the office for her too. drifted in and out of the game, and couldn’t get on the ball as much as she’d like to and even when she did it was too far down the pitch where she couldn’t do anything substantial with it. the commentator said at one point, “she probably wishes she was away at the Asian Cup and not here” and i was like, you think? even the European players wished they were away at the Asian Cup today.

Viv — 4/10. maybe the bun jinx is real 👀 jk, it’s fun to deflect the blame on that but sometimes we just have to admit that Viv isn’t nowhere near the form that the team needs her to be in and what knows she’s capable of. fair to say that the front three were really starved of service and any creative balls from midfield today, but girl, waaay too much dawdling on the ball and running herself into a cul-de-sac when she could’ve picked a pass instead. Viv also said, “my bestie got a yellow so imma be a supportive friend and get one myself too 🙃” still, i’m having none of that “Viv doesn’t care” or “she’s leaving” nonsense from some fools because it was evident that her passion (or frustration) was bubbling over from her desire to try and drag the team back into the game.

*you might think the attackers shouldn’t be this high of a rating, but I don’t think they to be marked down because they were really crippled by how ineffective our backline was. goes to show yet again, how crucial our buildup from the back is reliant on the CBs (namely LEAH) because it was due to her spraying passes and breaking the press that our attackers had room to play and create goals. today, the defence and midfield made it really hard for the front three to have the space or time they needed to generate chances. and worse so because we weren’t playing a Barca who suffocates you in possession or a typical lower-ranked side who just parks themselves in the box (which may actually have been better for us). it was an actual open game, and we still failed at stringing together simple passes to the forwards...

Subs:

Lotte — 3/10. i won’t fault Jonas too much for not starting her, but why tf wasn’t she brought on earlier when BOTH CBs were having an absolute mare?? she didn’t look the most assured, certainly with that mix-up with Manu from the corner, but she better start the next match.

Bonus:

Jonas Eidevall — 3/10. well he said it himself, he “takes 100% full responsibility.” but also that they “didn’t look like a team that understood the plan”? so was the failure the plan itself, conveying the plan, or the ability to execute the plan? anyway, hardly a convincing answer that gives me shades of the Chelsea FA Cup Final where the entire team crumbled in a similar manner and his excuse was exactly along these lines. but somehow, with the depleted squad and all the players looking devoid of energy and ideas, I can’t really condemn him so much for today’s showing. but as the ridiculous losses pile up, he’s just showing day by day that he isn’t anywhere near the hype he got early on in the season. whatever the team situation, it doesn’t change the fact that he’s got a stable of world quality, star players who should never be losing to a Birmingham team, no matter how determined and well-drilled they are. getting the best of our players who have proven individual quality to play as a team is his job, what else is he there for?

Referee — 4/10. some blatant fouls ignored (Viv’s one wasn’t a penalty by any means, but she didn’t even give anything at all for that one when Viv was clearly sent over). other than that, nothing could’ve been more of an issue with me than our performance itself, and Birmingham weren’t too annoying with the time wasting as other teams could’ve certainly been, had they been in the same position. kudos to them. Overall: the winter break really returned our girls in the worst possible condition at the worst possible time. (losing players to the Asian Cup, injuries nowhere near return, tough fixtures incoming and so on…) throughout the match, I thought the commentary was being way too poisonous and naysaying at every error made by our players, but there were also far too little positives to point out. we undoubtedly looked lethargic and playing with sandbags attached to our legs at times. how we’re going to get over the late Jan-Feb period and the way the title race with Chelsea might pan out is a whole other discussion so I’ll save that for the asks, but most of my hopes rest on the transfer window now.

oh, MOTM goes to Birmingham as a team for an absolute monster performance where absolutely everyone pulled their weight, but specifically their backline impressed me very much today. playing with conviction, constant organisation, in sync and perfect covering for each other — everything our defence aspires to be.
