IF the rescue bots ever met/meet megatron i fully believe he would be their shitty fucked up father who gets mildly redeemed but is still an asshole about everything. i feel like he'd meet them and be like "oh you're KIDS kids. ok. time to be responsible." because the rescue bots are chaotic as shit. like yeah they're very good at their jobs but like half the time they don't even make a plan they just improvise. they keep getting out of insane situations they shouldn't have survived. megatron would give them structure.

What would your ideal book be like (as in, what theoretical book would be your absolute favourite) what genre, page count, setting, characters, etc would it have?

- genre: psychological novel? im not exactly sure what the genre is but i love when books follow a mentally ill character that's just trying their best to navigate through life, and the book is about the way they interact with their surrounds and respond to issues and cope with their past and come to decisions, iykwim?

BUT I WANT FANTASY in it too so it will be epic. i love fantasy world building and i love when it makes so so so much sense. it would be cool if they had elements and got sorted into elemental groups too- that is so satisfying and fun to read.

- page count: probably 500. personally i think a normal book is 300, and it seems daunting when it's got like 700 pagesz but considering that this is my ideal book, i think i'd be sad if it had less than 400 pages (cus the story would be over soon) so i'd say 500 pages is the perfect amount.

- setting: in terms of time, i never really cared for it. i realise that i should probably have a preference on which century i like to read, but i find that characters can be mentally ill and epic no matter if they are from the future or the past.

in terms of location, hmm i wouldn't want to read about a character being anywhere with tropical or summery vibes. i like my characters knee deep in snow and drenched from head to toe in rain. it keeps them depressed and relatable ^^ (/hj....?)

oh also it would be cool if the country and places were mad up, since that this is a fantasy.

WAIT OR asia. i am obsessed with books that focuses on/is based off asia :)

- characters: trios are the best and i will die on that hill. ok like i dont need the trios to be together 24/7 but i need there to be THREE main characters if you know what i mean. one of them can be an antihero idc. it just has to be THREE.

oh also i love to read in the perspective of characters who are ambitious and feisty and impulsive because they're the opposite of me. but also i'd like them (idc abt gender) to be cunning, witty and good at making plans.

another character that i need in the trio is the smart one. there HAS to be a smart side character or else i will NOT fall in love with the book. i need the character who makes all the entensive plans. i need the character who is a walking dictionary. i need the character who hates to fight and would rather be learning but is somehow good at it and therefore forced to fight alongside the makn character. (oopsies im just describing the poppy war. but that is not a crime ;])

if its a soldier poet king trio i will be obsessed with it forever and ever

If so, why on earth are they voting for Donald Trump?? But Mikey needs to be put in a mental asylum or get some fucking medication because as we all know he is not fucking ok, like oh my gosh, and why is the Takemichi the only one actively doing something to help Manjiro? Like bro, even Shinchiro didn't do shit and Takeomi was doing most of the work of making sure the little shit didn't become worse, Mikey needs to get treated and/or get some fucking medication. Screw it he does need medication, that’s probs why Sanzu takes drugs to encourage Mikey to take something to help him and then got addicted, cause there is no other reason for him to take drugs despite being in the business.

Next topic, oh my gosh, Takemichi needs a vacation and some therapy, like I feel so sorry for this man. Kazutora is right, Mikey is the cause of all of this. speaking about Kazutora, my guy needs legitmate therapy and mental help, and I'm concerned on why they didn't try to get him some help as he just killed a person accident or not, cause for a kid to kill a person something is either wrong in their head or that incident fucks up their head. This is different as this is not stealing or a fight, this was legit murder, and this murder incident is what causes Kazutora to just fucking drop to the bottom with his already declining mental health due to the abuse he was already reciving, doesn’t help that his friend won't hear him out (Mikey once again being a problem though it's reasonable this time cause Kazu legit killed his brother and thats hard to forgive) so yeah mental spiral and should've gotten therapy including after he was caught a second time with a dead fucking body soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. Plus the dead body is the person he was caught with last time and also, the positinoning of the last stab wound was legit suicide so that fucks up Kazu's head more. Someone on Discord asked me why I love IDW Optimus and I thought I might as well put my answer here as well, since I don't think I've explained that properly here

Firts of all, I love Optimus in general. Optimus is great. I love him so much. I love G1 dad Optimus, TFP paragon Optimus (who is interesting and has emotions idc what anyone says), awkward nerd walking the walk CV Optimus.... I just really vibe with Optimus as a concept.

And I think Barber (and the other people who wrote him) loves Optimus too, he really does. People complain about IDW’s take on Optimus being edge for edge’s sake but I don’t think that’s right. I think Optimi are made to fit the tone of their series, especially when Barber made Optimus to be the representation of the themes in his run. And it does come from a place of love, wanting to explore all the implications that a character like Optimus entails (ok, to be fair, Barber’s execution is not always great because like I said, he tends to sacrifice character for plot, despite the fact he can actually write good characters).

Optimus, the strong and wise leader of the Autobots, he is great! He gives people hope! A figure that looks so noble and infallible makes people gather around him and keeps the morale up to not give up and stand against tyranny! But also, unchecked faith in leaders is not a good thing, no one is perfect, no one can keep up an image of perfection, and this need to protect everyone… it can easily become paternalistic, doesn’t it?

So IDW is primarily driven by a strong sense of justice. He sees wrong and he needs to do something, he needs to help. But he can be pretty naïve, or clueless about experiences he hasn’t had, being exemplified by the fact he wanted to do good by becoming A FUCKING COP OF ALL THINGS (Barber does call him out for this), he really is part of the problem. All the crime in Cybertron bitters him, but doesn’t see the bigger picture and arrests people, but when is pointed out to him that the system is corrupt, he immediately goes to scream at those at the top (after arresting more people ffs).

This is a person who very, very much wants to maintain his ideals, and when reality proves him wrong it makes him angry, but he doesn’t want to get angry, but he also doesn’t know how to properly deal with his anger, sometimes he can channel it properly, but many other times it has ugly results for everybody. Optimus desperately wants to do what’s right, but often doesn’t know what the right thing is, after renouncing the system he goes back to it because Zeta represented the peaceful change he desired and would get mad at anyone who challenged that. He very much suspected that Zeta’s reign wasn’t all that great, but he wanted to believe in it so badly, and then the Decepticons looked as corrupt by now, nothing like what he envisioned from Megatron’s writings, so what was he supposed to do, let them have their way?

Maybe he should have, the truth is we don’t know. He certainly had a hand in escalating the war, and by the time he was listening to the pleas of the oppressed it was too late, Megatron had already given himself to his own anger and violence and Optimus couldn’t trust him, he couldn’t leave other planets unprotected from him. He needs to do something. Which, yeah, easy to play the part of the hero in your high horse with the life you were given. He can be pretty quick to judge, and he struggles between wanting to believe in people and also judging them too harshly.

Optimus fucks up a lot, he makes me extremely uncomfortable.

There is also something to say, because I do hate how in media the revolutionary characters who fight the system are also like, killing babies, so the heroes get the moral high ground no matter what. But that issue is more complicated in IDW and deserves a rant of its own. It could have been done better, but I don’t hate it so much in IDW.

Optimus didn’t want to lead, in fact, he does like to follow, at least when he trusts and admires someone, but he is also stubborn, not willing to compromise his ideals, except when he inevitably has to and does whatever seems like a good idea at the moment. Truth is, he excels at war, his bravery, acrobatics, quick thinking, charm and even his ideals, does help make him seem like this larger than life heroic figure, that’s certainly how he looks when JRo writes him, even when he’s tired, so tired. Honestly, he just wants a rest. Unfortunately, by the time of phase two it seems the hero worship has gotten to his head, and there’s problems around, and some people still want him, and he needs to do something.

Optimus fucks up and he fucks up a lot and I’m not saying he never did anything wrong, but I just find his flaws so believable. I can see how thinks those were good ideas at the moment, how he really tries to do what’s best, how things backfire and he comes to regret it, but he can’t do nothing but keep going. But maybe he shouldn't

Ex-rid/OP is about how people are always in conflict, how it seems they can’t agree on anything even when supposedly everyone wants what’s best, people lie and betray each other and everyone is an asshole and there seems to be to end to the conflict, and yet, it’s not meaningless to try. Is hard and it sucks, you can’t put your hope in infallible leaders, but you also can’t give up hope altogether.

A moment that summaries OP for me is one thing Whirl says: Optimus personally recruits him to the autobots, which Whirl calls "compassion as a weapon of war" very him. It wasn't a talk about Optimus, but it does show how he goes. Optimus knows Whirl is not irremediable and wasn't completely at fault, he does extend a hand to him, but still judges him for the things he has done, at the same time he wants to Make a Point about compassion to the general public. But he also may not realize that Whirl doesn't really have any other choice because the Decepticons will fucking murder him.

ok everyone hear me out ! allow me to make something out of nothing ! a storyline !

tolerate it: este’s perspective on her husband treating her like dirt. she’s still lowkey unaware that he’s cheating on her but she knows somethings up and that she deserves better. he constantly fails to show up for her and she’s being pushed to the side for ~seemingly~ no reason but we know he’s cheating. (while you were out building other worlds, where was i? // now im begging for footnotes in the story of your life)

dorthea: let’s pretend that este’s sister is named dorthea. idk just pretend. this song lowkey feels like a letter from este to dorthea. she loves and misses her sister, but she also doesn’t want to clue her in that her personal life is in shambles, because she doesn’t want dorthea to worry. she’s wistful, and at moments seemingly jealous over the life that her sister is living, successful and happily, because este’s life feels like quite the opposite. overall, este is nostalgic and reflecting on how different their paths are now. she misses her sister and they clearly shared close bond. (a tiny screen’s the only place i see you now, and i’ve got nothing but well wishes for ya // it’s never too late to come back to my side)

ivy: the mistress’s perspective of falling in love w este’s husband and trying to keep their relationship a secret. she’s sort of naive to how wrong it is & how it could be hurting other people (namely este) bc she’s blinded by her love. similar energy to how augustine felt with james except this is grown adults and marriage and more serious idk u get it blah blah blah (i’d live and die for moments that we stole on begged and borrowed time // so yeah, it’s a war, it’s the goddamn fight of my life and you started it)

no body, no crime: self explanatory, this is when it all goes down. the rising action all leads to the epic climax. este is killed by her husband after realizing he is cheating on her with miss ivy, and taylor kills him for revenge on her best friend’s life. este’s sister (we’re calling her dorthea idc) helps cover up for taylor. (literally the whole song i don’t have a specific lyric for this one)

happiness: bit of a stretch but.. dorthea reflecting on este’s life after she’s killed. remember that dorothea lied to cover up for taylor so we know that she was somewhat involved/ at least knows the truth of what este’s ex husband did. that part about “when a good man hurts you” (and most of the song in general) could be her understanding este’s perspective, empathizing, and just putting herself in her sister’s shoes to try and know what este was going through. she’s acknowledging how messed up este’s life became towards the end and how unfair it is that things ended the way that they did, but she’s trying her best to look past her anger and grief to celebrate este’s life and who she was. (there is happiness past the blood and the bruise, past the curses and cries, beyond the terror of the nightfall)

Star Wars: Timestamps and Thoughts; The Empire Strikes Back

Salutations to all. Welcome back to my blog thing? Anyways today is the one and only The Empire Strikes Back which I think may be the most iconic Star Wars movie. But, don’t quote me on that. I’m only saying that as someone who has heard about Star Wars movies from the outside and honestly out of all the movies The Empire Strikes Back is the one movie I’ve always heard about; name-wise. I don’t think I know any spoilers about this movie, so we’ll see. I’m new to this and I don’t know what I’m doing so please have mercy and help a sister out, thanks. I have some idea based on what the movie is about based on the name but I’ll just take what Disney Plus tells me. I honestly have nothing to say. Should I start writing predictions before writing the timestamps and writing my reaction if I’m right or wrong based on the last movie I watched. Does that make sense? I can’t think of any other way to word it differently but if it makes sense then okay, let’s continue. This isn’t a prediction but um is this the movie where Luke finds about his parentage? Or is it a bit too early? Am I too early? Oh well. While adding timestamps I thought it would be a cool idea to add a “Favorite Scene” section under my “Final Thoughts” sections, I hope y’all like it.

Final Thoughts? Wow. No yeah, I totally understand why Empire Strikes Back is a loved by all. It was amazing. I understand why it’s so talked about. This movie is beautiful; Leia/Han romance, 3PO and R2 banter, the good action. The soundtrack-THE SOUNDTRACK is SPECTACULAR and I would often fins myself rewinding scenes just to listen to the music. The visuals were so striking and appealing and it really showed during the showdown between luke and vader. 

Favorite Scene? Luke meeting Yoda and not knowing that Yoda was Yoda and every scene that included the Imperial March in the background.

If you have made it this far, thank you. I hope none of you people get tired of me fangirling over the Imperial March whilst simultaneously simping over Luke. Nova trying to find Callum while refusing to acknowledge she’s in pain

Winston is alive but life sucks (Fic edition)

Same as above but it’s a comic so it hurts more

Thing is 

We have a whole AU (well, it’s more likely just canon divergence)  so let’s see how things turn out for Narcissa and Leroy uwu 

You thought we forgot Leroy but we didn’t lmao and Danna needs a wife so here we goooo

So, as we already know, Narcissa is the one who put The Rejects together, and she promised them a new life.

She basically doomed herself 

yikes :) 

So, obviously, she now has to help them leave Gatlon. And we figured that, then, that would mean Leroy and her would travel together. 

The Rejects leave through the catacombs; they probably stole  some cars once they were outside the dome in order to leave the city.

Cut to Narcissa taking the passenger’s seat in Leroy’s yellow car because we say so.

The Rejects drive together until they feel the wave that drains their powers, and they have to stop to panic because they have no damn clue on what is happening.

Then the Supernova happens and they have their powers back so… They go back to their runaway before anything else happens.

They arrive to the nearest city in around four hours and stop to get supplies, but Narcissa keeps staring back at where Gatlon is supposed to be.

And Leroy tells her that, if there’s a chance Nova outsmarted Ace (and he knows his daughter her so he has faith), he’s taking the risk to going back to Gatlon.

He subtly suggests she can come too, but she says she’s still in debt with the Rejects.

But is she, though?

She has already taken them out of Gatlon and honestly, we don’t think they’ll stick together as a new gang or something.

They’re probably going to split out and take their own ways and Millie tells her so, and that’s how the two of them find themselves driving back to Gatlon like champions.

So then they enter back into Gatlon, empowered, like Dawnie when she failed Math and still went to watch Moana. 

And Narcissa, bc she’s a good person and has common sense, asks Leroy if there’s anything she can do for him bc he’s a war criminal who can’t go outside that much hee hee and the one thing Leroy asks is for her to tell him where he can find Nova. 

Narcissa does it, as it’s easier for her to move through the city without getting arrested af. She tells Leroy Nova is at the hospital with Winston, so Leroy waits until they’re both released to find a way to see Nova. 

And he finds it. We don’t know if any of you have watched Kipo :’) (YOU SHOULD BTW BC IT’S THE BOMB) but Leroy basically pulls a Lio and leaves traces/hints for Nova to find him. Like, very specific things only she could understand bc, even if she didn’t have powers, she would still be considered a prodigy child lmao kiddo was playing with syringes without getting them in her eyes when she was 6. 

Leroy waits….very patiently, btw, for a couple of days (3-4 days?) until one night he sees a tiny af silhouette  walking around the place like a cat and he just knows is her. 

And she is, indeed. 

So when she gets closer, she hugs him. It’s a very uncomfortable hug bc Leroy is not used to touch people, and Nova isn’t either. But yeah, they have a moment :) 

They talk for a while, and when Leroy asks her how she’s doing, as in where she’s living, where she’s getting money from and stuff like that, she answers that she recently rented an apartment where she’s living with Winston because he’s recovering and it’s not like Nova will be willing to leave him alone knowing he was one of the people that raised her and showed her actual love :v 

Leroy starts reconsidering his plan to remain hidden once he’s made sure Nova has it together lmao. 

ofc he doesn’t tell her this, and after promising (indirectly) everything will be alright and that this might not be the last time they talk, they just go into their separates ways. 

Until Simon calls Nova later that night telling her Leroy is at the HQs, surrendering lmao.

And so she goes there to ask him wtf is he doing, and Leroy might not directly tell her this, but he has nothing left to lose. And if he leaves, the only thing he’ll do is separate himself from Nova, who is like...the only family he has left.

So he wants to surrender because, that way, at least, he has a chance to get a sentence that might allow him get out of jail before he dies. 

Might.

The thing is that, well, we know the Renegades caused Nova to go through a lot of awful stuff. And we suppose they know that too :v so, what they do while both Nova and Leroy are in the room, is that they get to an agreement. 

Like, they don’t tell them the sentence in that VERY moment, but they do talk about how Leroy was always a very...neutral entity and barely anything he did was illegal :V ...besides being an accomplice ofc 

Even so, Nova is hesitant about this whole thing, but Leroy is an adult and she can’t tell him what to do, so he agrees to go into trial :v 

Given the fact that he didn’t have that many aggravating crimes and, in the end, he DID switch sides in the Second Battle for Gatlon, he’s sentenced to one year in prison and community service.

What we’re trying to say is that the Council basically pulled a Cinder and spared Leroy bc he helped win the battle. 

Before going to prison, Leroy reveals to Nova that, in the end, he did keep a little Agent N as a last resource (just in case, y’ know), and gives it to her. Not to use it on herself, but to use it on Winston, who is evidently miserable with his powers back :’). 

So Nova does, WHICH MEANS IN THIS CANON WINSTON HAS NO POWERS. EVERYTHING GOOD. OK? 

And that was the last sample of Agent N, since the rest (whatever back up the Renegades could have had in labs) was destroyed when Ace lifted the city and there is no way to replicate it without Max’s gifted blood.

Perhaps the formula and data were also destroyed.

During the year Leroy is locked, the Council (mostly Simon and Hugh) provide Winston and Nova with stuff they need to live lmao. Like, a small house :) bc they can :) 

Once Leroy is out, he starts living with them. Like a family. Bc we say so :) 

As for Narcissa, once she’s back at Gatlon, she stays with Danna for a while (omg there was only one bed) before getting a job in a library, y’know :) and moving to an apartment. 

Now, Nova DOES forgive the Renegades. Because, honestly, guys, a big part of the hatred she showed towards them was bc they promised they would come and then they didn’t. 

But turns out they did lmao.

During the Battle, Nova learned that Georgia Rawles died on her way to save her family. 

AND IDC WHAT ANYONE SAYS, DYING WASN’T GEORGIA’S FAULT :’) 

But anyway, this leads Nova to kinda… consider getting along with the Renegades, because in the end they DID try. Like, she forgives all of the “Bc you promised you would save me” stuff, but she remains firm on the fact that their system can suck it bc it’s horrible 

So said system changes for good, and Nova herself helps the Council establish more laws in order to make this less of a dictatorship lol. 

She even pressures them into making the recruitment process more moderated; now, before attending the trials, aspirants must go through an interview that is, basically, like a job interview to make sure they’re qualified to have a position as important as a Renegade (y’know, Nova wants the Council to s t o p hiring people like Team Frostbitch) and if they don’t pass that interview, they can’t go to the trials; they also have to go through a training process even AFTER they’ve been chosen by a team.

We could talk about all the legal reforms we like to think they made more in depth, but for now, our job here is done :)
