Congrats to @teamniklasedin on winning the #SunCityCup held in #Karlstad @oggelit @rasmuswrana & @cr1ppa had to play as a trio because 🐐 @niklasedin was in Canada coaching at the Scotties, super spare extraordinaire Daniel had his own team in the event, and coach Fredrik was sparing for Team Walstad. But as Team Edin have repeatedly shown this season after Nik’s injury, they can win as a trio. In winning this weekend’s event my #Icevengers also won the #NordicCurlingTour title 👏 No official livestream for the event, but I appreciate the teams who did livestream on FB & IG & gave me glimpses at Team Edin in action. I’m exhausted just thinking of all the sweeping Crippa did this weekend. . . Excited for April when I’ll get to see my Swedes in action again. Looking forward to cheering them on as they win another Worlds for my birthday. By now it’s tradition. Team Edin have won every year since I became a super major hardcore fangirl so they better keep going. #Bionik should be pretty close to fully healed by then & I can’t wait to see them at the last two Slams too. I’m pulling for them to win the last 2 Slams this season & win the overall Pinty’s Cup 🙏🤞 . . My wish is for both Team Edin & Team Granbom aka Burning Goats to make the final #forpersonalreasons I’m bummed that Team Granbom’s uniforms seem to be made locally in Sweden, meaning I can’t buy them SADGE #fangirlproblems My birthday is coming up & I have a LONG wishlist for items I plan on ordering from Dynasty Curling (including Isabella Wranå’s jacket & Team Saskatchewan Scotties uniforms). Things are so much easier for fangirls when curling teams get their uniforms from Dynasty, Runback or Foxglide. There’s a common misconception that I must not like American teams because I love the Swedish teams so much. I happen to love the American teams, some more than others, but the reason they’re not represented much is because Columbia doesn’t sell their uniforms. Otherwise I’d have a lot more Team USA gear in my curling closet. Over the years I’ve observed that what Nik is doing now fresh from surgery is extremely difficult to do even for the healthiest and younger curlers. I’m guessing elite curlers are secretly shaking in their boots right now because Nik showed at the most recent GSOC just how scary good he already is just 2 months from surgery despite wearing the magical brace & using a modified, more upright slide out of the hack. Imagine how formidable a foe he’ll be come April/May when he’s healed more & stronger. I for one cannot wait to see. Looking forward to @teamniklasedin making history again by winning #WMCC2023 for my birthday it will be the 5th straight for this iteration of Team Edin & 7th overall for 🐐 @niklasedin I am convinced & repeatedly willing the universe to manifest not only another Worlds win for my #Icevengers but more GSOC wins, including the Pinty’s Cup & reclaiming the European Championships title 👊💪 . . I’m still bummed my Swedes didn’t win Team of the Year for the sports gala. I know they were out of the running for the biggest overall award despite me voting & trying to get other curling fans to vote too, but they should’ve won Team of the Year after winning both Olympic & Worlds gold in 2022. My friend Marty & his wife went to Canada & sent me pics from the #GSOC It solidified “attend a GSOC” on my bucket list. I have so many outfit options to pick from too! Super proud of the way @teamniklasedin played this past week - they were undefeated up until the final 👏 So happy to see 🐐 @niklasedin back w/ the team although Kevin Martin did say in his latest podcast that Nik’s in a lot of pain 🥺 Funny how Team Edin was not on anyone’s list for the GSOC picks to make playoffs on Inside Curling the previous week but both Kevin Martin & Warren Hansen had Edin to make the final the following week. Even if Nik wasn’t confirmed to play, Oskar, Rasmus & Crippa have proven themselves capable of playing & winning w/o Nik. . . I’m bummed that my #Icevengers didn’t win Team of the Year in the Swedish sports gala - they lost to a table tennis duo who won 2021 Worlds & 2022 European Championships in their discipline. Bruh Worlds & Olympic gold in the same year seems more impressive to me… but maybe Team Edin really aren’t that known or popular in Sweden. Table tennis seams like a more niche sport to me than #curling but that’s partly my bias since I curl & actively look for curling streams & content. I admit, it’s my bias to want to see Team Edin win everything. Glad they are still on top of the Pinty’s Cup leaderboard after reaching the finals yesterday. My Swedes had 2 playoff games yesterday & won both of them to book their spot in the #GSOC final!!! They won the QF over Team Dropkin 6-2 and ran Team Gushue out of rocks in the SF for the 8-5 win 🙌 *flailing arms & legs* I will FINALLY get to see @teamniklasedin in a featured game. When the Edin v Gushue A qualifier game didn’t get featured I knew my #Icevengers had to get to the final before I could see front-end stones thrown. Still wary that I won’t get to see #worldsbestlead @cr1ppa ‘s rocks since broadcasts tend to go on commercial break & not show lead stones. I need my Swedes to win this GSOC & protect their lead in the Pinty’s Cup leaderboard 🙏🤞 They’re going to win the Pinty’s Cup at the end of the season *I’m manifesting it* . . Commentators and media sure have been amazed at 🐐 @niklasedin ‘s #comeback calling him a medical marvel & the brace he wears magical. His modified slide out of the hack is a clear indication that he is not 100% & he himself have said repeatedly that he still has months of recovery left before his knee is fully bendy again, but you wouldn’t know just by looking at the scores, stats, or Nik himself once he’s out of the hack or skipping in the house. 2 games in, 2 wins in the books for @teamniklasedin 👏 My #Swedish #Icevengers defeated Team Ramsfjell 5-4 in the neighborly Nordic battle yesterday. I was hoping the featured game on YareTV tonight would be Edin v Gushue since both have 2-0 records so far, but alas, the featured game will be Carruthers v Flasch. I acknowledge my bias & hope that my Swedes ultimately win the #GSOC title come Sunday (or at the very least continue to fend off Team Gushue’s chase at the Pinty’s Cup). Canadians have long held lack of Olympic gold and the GSOC drought against Team Edin & nothing would make me happier than for them to win the Pinty’s Cup at the end of the season (after they win another Worlds gold for my birthday) 😜 . . 🐐 @niklasedin is back! 👏 #Bionik #comeback @teamniklasedin won their first game against Team Horgan. Excited for the YareTV livestreams so I can hopefully get a glimpse of my #Icevengers in action. I sinceriously hope 🐐 did not rush himself coming back to competition, but according to the #GSOC post-game recap, he was bored out of his mind 😂 Inquiring minds want to know, what did the #curling #GOAT do to fight off boredom? What’s interesting was the action on Twitter after the game. Chris Plys joins Ryan Fry in the very short list (to date) of elite level curlers who recognize Niklas Edin as the greatest. Perhaps if the majority consensus among elite curlers is that Edin is indeed the #greatestofalltime then perhaps even the super major hardcore Canadian critics will have no choice but to finally accept it? In terms of lack of fever, unfortunately Sweden is not as big of a curling country as Canada in terms of curlers, sponsors & fans. In my experience @TeamNiklasEdin are also more reserved than Canadian teams & unlikely to engage in social media engagement that endears and cements them in the eyes, minds & hearts of fans & sponsors alike (e.g., they’re not doing viral dances & TikToks). Some of the sponsor posts/engagements are contractual for elite level teams but a team like Homan seems to enjoy & embrace them (at least Emma does) whereas Swedes tend to be cringe about them. There’s also the humility factor. *FANGIRL SQUEE* 🐐@niklasedin is back!!! Nothing makes me happier than to see #Bionik looking like he normally does. I’ve seen several articles from Swedish media talking about his #comeback for several days before he posted his vids on IG. It seems more real now, though it won’t be fully real until he make a successful return to competition - which is supposed to be the next GSOC in Camrose next week. Even if @teamniklasedin have to play as a trio, I’ll still be cheering & rooting for my Swedes, but they are the best when it’s all 4 of them together. There’s just a certain magic when my 4 #Icevengers play together, a synergy that makes them IMHO the best curling team in the history of the sport. I just hope #PresidentNik isn’t pushing himself too hard too fast. It’s the beginning of a new quad & he has a long list of surgeries & injuries already. Taking time now is probably the most forgiving in terms of schedules. I just want to minimize the obstacles to my Swedes winning Worlds again for my birthday #forpersonalreasons . . Rough day at the office for my #Icevengers as they came on the wrong side of the battle of undefeated teams. They started w/ hammer but chased the whole game. They got to Even Steven but was unable to steal the win. Swedes will face off against Team Ramsfjell in a Nordic Battle QF next. We have confirmation that Super Spare Extraordinaire Daniel has his own Viking uniform, and Jennifer Jones had nice things to say about him during the commentary - gave him props for jumping in & playing well this week 👏 Bummed that despite being a featured game, I feel like I only saw Crippa’s stones during the first end due to updates on other sheets. I’m totally digging Jr’s hair right now - I’m calling it a haircute 👍 Also, 🐐 @niklasedin may not be at the #GSOC right now but he still made it to the opening montage. . . Congrats to my #Icevengers on the 6-4 win over Team Whyte earlier today. Silver lining to the game being at 5am & not being broadcasted was that I slept through it. Otherwise commentators calling Robin “The Professor” might’ve driven me nuts. There’s only one curler w/ the nickname The Professor & it’s @oggelit Swipe to see the Mean Girls meme 😬 Also, I might’ve fallen off my bed given how the first half went based on the linescores. . .
