For some reason my stomach has decided to kick off again, a fortnight after getting the "looks like you're going into remission!" Letter 🙃🙃🙃 been awake using the facilities most of the night and not sleeping due to pain/my painkillers the rest of the night. Now I'm eating a spinach and ricotta pizza, complete with lactose and gluten because f*** my stomach if it thinks it's the boss

I want to give a #shoutout to @hannahdawn_fitness & my girl @mychellelee who have been sharing chronic illness stories, staying strong with her #Crohns while working on their fitness regimen and embracing who they have become today ! I expressed with a few of my post how much I battle #bodypositivity because of my #UlcerativeColitis and me still have to wear depends. My condition has came a long way. But it’s beautiful inspirational stories like Hannah’s & Mychelle who have #IBD like me who help my confidence level of being sexy and showing me I am not alone in this process. I been afraid to be sexy and show me for so long but not any more ! 💪🏾💫✨ Thank you to all the women and men out there with #CrohnsandColitis who share their stories everyday. I love you. We are #IBDVisible #Repost @hannahdawn_fitness ・・・ Happy Six month surgery anniversary!! #crohns can suck it!! Six Months ago my life changed forever. My body had been failing me for a long time, and thanks to a lifesaving operation I was given another chance at life. My entire large intestine was removed and the end of my small intestine was pulled through my belly to create an #ileostomy. I wear a #ostomy bag on my belly at all times to collect waste (ostomates like to call it “output” because I guess it sounds less gross... but it’s just 💩). Almost immediately after surgery I could eat again without pain. I gained weight FAST! 6 weeks after surgery I began lifting weights (keep in mind, that I’m a personal trainer and had weight training experience long BEFORE I got sick with Crohns... I knew how to listen to my body and progress correctly). This is me today, in a tiny burgundy bikini that I will probably never wear in public (but for some reason Instagram is fine😌), but it shows that chronic illnesses, surgeries, and ostomies don’t have to hold you back. Keep that positive mindset, treat your body right, and listen to the trusted professionals overlooking your care (or find ones your do trust!). For those of you still reading who do NOT live with #IBD, thank you for being willing to learn a bit about it, and treasure your health everyday. There are a lot of people still suffering as I used to,

CURE IBD!!! CW: The pictures in this post contain a needle/injection! It's Crohn's and Colitis (IBD) Awareness month! One of the things that can come with these diseases is malabsorption or even being unable to consume enough of the foods that contain certain vitamins and minerals. One that I personally don't get enough of Vitamin B! This adds to the fatigue I already experience from the disease itself. So I have had to start taking sublinguals as well as giving myself injections once a month. Here is sorta how that looks like for me! (I hate injections and getting over giving myself one was never something I thought I could ever do #proud) #ibdwarrior #IBDvisible #ibdawareness #crohns #injections #needle #crohnsdisease #ibd #vitaminb #selfinjection #remicade #StrongAthleticChronicallyIll #inflammatoryboweldisease #malabsorption #cwneedles #cwinjections https://www.instagram.com/p/B_rJTrepyGv/?igshid=n5ozqkq4w7iv

I just had stomach ache so bad I nearly passed out. Maybe the 2nd worst pain I've ever felt. Genuinely considered ringing an ambulance. It seems to have passed mainly now, thankfully. It wasnt even in my normal stomach pain places either. I assume it is as a consequence of the small slice of birthday cake I ate about 4 hours ago. It wasn't gluten free, so it's the most likely culprit. I'd had such a good pain day too

— My current concoction — • • Anytime I take my daily meds around someone who isn’t used to it, I get the looks. The “oh my gosh that’s a lot.” Or the unnecessary and hurtful “well maybe if you did xyz...” • • I will shout it from the rooftops until my lungs hurt... EVERY PERSON IS DIFFERENT. What works for one might not work for another. • • But this concoction right here has given me a better quality of life than I could have imagined a couple years ago. And although I’m still having weird nausea and pain symptoms from time to time... I am happy to report my CT scan from last week came back with NO SIGNS OF ACTIVE CROHNS DISEASE. 🙌🏻 The abscess is NOT a fistula, it’s simply an old “scar tract” they called it. • • And it’s my last week of prednisone! 💊 • • I have lots to be thankful for this week!💜 • • My daily regimen includes Turmeric supplement, Multi-vitamin, Probiotics, Calcium + Vitamin D, Imuran, Celexa (anxiety/depression), and Carafate (as needed.) I was supposed to continue on Protonix but my insurance company had other plans... 😑 . . . . . . #crohns #crohnie #crohnsdisease #crohnswarrior #crohnsawareness #crohnsandcolitis #crohnslife #crohnsfighter #colitis #ulcerativecolitis #ibd #ibdawareness #ibdwarrior #ibdsuperheroes #ibdvisible #crohnscolitisfoundation #chronicillness #chronicillnessawareness #chronicillnesswarrior #spoonie #invisibleillness #invisibleillnessawareness #invisibleillnesswarrior #autoimmunedisease #friendswithcrohns #medication #pills #meds https://www.instagram.com/p/B9UH-11gReV/?igshid=1uqc0mctci4qj
