I’ve been making patches again now that I’m feeling better! I love how cool my vest and pants are turning out! My favorite patch is the first one - a disabled transgender symbol in the colors of the CCFA for my ulcerative colitis.

I also get called weird a lot so I figured I would embrace it and make a patch showing the real reasons I get called that (it’s because I love bugs).

Take Steps is a charity event that I got involved with last year that focuses on raising money for the patients of Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis in hopes of finding cures one day for these diseases. Further research is funded for medicines for those of us with inflammatory bowel disease. I have been nominated as this year’s Take Steps Adult Honored Hero. I have a team together, known as Wade’s Wish, which has the mission of raising money for one day a cure to be found and for future generations to not have to experience we have had to during our lifetimes. I have a strong sense of community and I am also very grateful to have my teammates, Tyminia, Leonelly, and Dani fundraise alongside me. I am participating in the Take Steps Walk this year and I have a fundraising goal in mind I would like to achieve before walk day. Crohn’s Disease has been a part of my life for nearly a decade now and I wanted to do something to where I could raise funds and participate in my first walk for a cause that’s closest to my heart. I formed a team known as Wade’s Wish and the walk takes place on June 13, 2020 and I am seriously looking forward to it.
