Hi!!! we're @faggotwalkwithme and @the-gooberrrrrrr, and we're organising a zine about neurodiversity for our IB CAS project!

Submissions are open here and are open til the 16th of September.

Submissions can be about anything as long as it relates to your own experience with neurodiversity! Just pitch your idea in the form and we'll invite you to the server (via neurodiver-zine on discord) and you'll have until Halloween to finish your piece! The aim of this zine is to raise awareness about experience of as many different neurotypes as possible, directly from people who experience them :)

AITA for going no-contact without warning in perhaps the pettiest way i could?

Context: I(20m) had a falling out with my friend (18m) about 2 years ago. We were in this discord server with our friends, and I woke up one morning to find it gone. I asked him, and he dm'd me and began with "I just wanna say, I mean this respectfully;" followed by THE LONGEST RANT about a bunch of things I did (including not giving feedback on other people's art, dominating the conversation, and being "hard to corral into one topic" which i still don't fully get). He said "everyone else in the server feels the same, you make people really uncomfortable." I asked who had what gripes, so I could apologize, but he said nobody really wanted to hear it and this was a mutual decision. I respected that, cried for a day or two, moved on.

Enter a few months ago. I up-heaved my entire online presence, recreating my friend group from the ground up with people who were more up to my style of interaction, and got better with boundaries. We open a roleplay server for a fandom my old friend liked, and it'd been a few years, so I decided to hit him up, invite him and try to mend some things. I was different after all.

Shit hits the fan, let me keep it brief- a different friend (it/its) makes a comment about eating something that's gonna make it sick later, because it has IBS but it's fuckin hungy and wants pepper poppers. The old friend dms it and says "hey, you shouldn't talk about self harm in this channel, it's gonna make people uncomfortable!!!" Which. first of all, yikes, but secondly, nobody else seemed uncomfortable. I was in a vc with my friends which is where it told me about the dms, and everyone else agreed that yeah, he seemed to be overreacting a little. But I started piecing shit together.

Even though I never talked to most of the people from the old server ever again, none of them reached out to me either. Not even to ask for an apology or where I'd gone. I was just kind of relying on what my friend said to be true. I asked someone from that server, and they said that besides a few gripes mentioned here and there, nobody seemed that uncomfortable with me. In fact, many of them- whom i hadn't spoken to in two years- asked where i went.

I got pissed, and probably could have handled it better, but I didn't wanna see his face anymore. So I removed him from the server, and when he asked me why, all I said was: "I just wanna say, I mean this respectfully;" and blocked him. Part of me still thinks about it. I felt like a hypocrite, and wanted to explain what I'd found out and ask him about it instead of jumping to conclusions, but the deed was done and I figured I'd feel better if I ignored it. I do feel a little better, but I just wanna know if I was the asshole.

@the-best-invader is 2 years old now! For that, I think I'll do one of my incredibly rare OOC posts.

The Past

When this blog started it was just a fun way for me to socialize with other Invader Zim fans. At the time @z-ib was making waves with beautiful, intriguing, and shockingly frequent art posts in what I had seen as an interesting fusion between an ask blog and a roleplay blog.

Soon, a few others started showing up as well, and I wanted to throw a Zim into the mix because I hadn't seen any of that yet.

The version of the character was based off of an idea I had for a comic series that never came to be. It was supposed to be a self-aware crackfic version of Zim based off of an already silly highschool AU comic. It was meant to be played for jokes, and for me to get an idea of the character before I started to make "serious" material. Just for fun to play with other people.

Soon, an entire community had formed with people quickly sending asks to other blogs to make themselves known. A canon had formed, so I decided to make a Discord Server where people in this community could more easily collaborate on storylines, roleplay behind the scenes, and just get to know each other better.

My character quickly became more serious, had his personality become more developed, and I created strong ideas for worldbuilding that I hadn't had when I first started the blog, all because of the wonderful community supporting each other's work.

The Present

The Best Invader has been on a bit of a hiatus for a while, and it's not really a secret. As my plotlines became more serious, my comics because more ambitious and polished, so instead I would make one large post every once in a while instead of frequent sketch posts.

In January, I injured my hand and it has still not recovered, meaning that while many of my comics are halfway done, I haven't been able to finish any of them. I still interact and check in with the community from time to time, but things are much slower compared to normal.

The Future

None of this means I have a lack of motivation to continue, though. I have many plans for @the-best-invader in the future, collaborations with other artists that have already been underway for a long time, and storylines I've been plotting out and refining for over a year now.

It might not be soon, the blog will likely be in hiatus for a few more months, but it will come back in the future and it will be glorious. Keep biding your time, and just be patient 💖

Thank you to all the fans as well. Without the community support both from the people running the askblogs and from the people watching, this character wouldn't exist and I would have less friends than I do now. Hope to see you all again soon!

Time for another crazy ass saga, the story of Baba's Ass. A Briefer: - Baba is a 4-legged white creature from the hit game Baba is You. - The Stockholm Tavern was a tavern I ran in a Minecraft server for the Baba is You discord. I sold drinks and food and did it for fun.

When I had built Stockholm, it was in more of an island off the coast, so I also got the idea to build a giant, 3-dimensional Baba near it. You could even go inside! It was a nice attraction and otherwise was harmless.

But then someone put an ass on it. I un-assed the thing and put a sign up not to do it again.

How efficient.

Naturally, this did not go well. I put it back, but since I ran this server this also prompted me to install CoreProtect on the server.

This was apparently not a deterrent either, but I had caught a guilty party: Olie.

I decided to get rid of the three dimensional Baba and replace it with a flatter version - still a Baba, but without being ass-able, right?

Wrong I was. The anger in me was affable and immature, and there were a few memes made about the situation. I tried everything I could, using command blocks just made an infinite source of white concrete blocks, but barriers seemed to have worked.

I couldn't do anything about the perpetrator at the time, Maxine, as she was the current mayor of the server (elected co-mod position).

Eventually, though, I did cave in. I made my own Baba with a ginormous ass somewhere ~100 blocks away, and being a filthy mod abuser, i made it so you could enter only through the ass and get an achievement. Which achievement, you may ask?

As someone with IBS I find this very funny.

My tavern was, uh, not the same after that. No decking it out with fancy nick-nacks could keep me from the shame that was Baba's Ginormous Ass.

Hidden disabilities or invisible disabilities is a term to refer to disabilities that are not visible or obvious. Some common hidden disabilities are Autism, ADHD and dyslexia, as well as physical disabilities like IBS, EDS, RA, POTS or Celiacs.

Here’s the thing.

I feel like “hidden disabilities” puts the onus on the disabled individual as if we are hiding our disabilities. I feel like the term “hidden disabilities” generalises certain disabilities.

There are plenty of people who are visibly Autistic or visibly ADHD — there’s nothing hidden about us and for those who are perhaps less visible, it’s because they’ve been taught to mask for safety and survival.

As someone with EDS, IBS and Rheumatoid Arthritis, even these are considered hidden disabilities but they really aren’t hidden or invisible.

I’m sure people notice when I’m escaping to the bathroom for the tenth time or I’m trying to get my shoulder back in after it slipped out of the place again. I’m sure people notice when I say no to particular foods when I’m invited to dinner and I’m sure people notice when I have to stay home for five days after a big weekend out. I’ve no doubt people notice when I’m wincing with every step and bend. They simply don’t associate these things with disability because my disability doesn’t look a certain way.

I use mobility aids on occasion and I’ve been offered priority lanes, I’ve been offered a seat while I wait, I’ve been seen as a disabled person. While this has its disadvantages when it comes to discrimination and more, there are also some upsides like having my disability acknowledged. When I don’t use my mobility aids, I’m taken less seriously as a disabled person — people make assumptions about me and overlook my needs. I think this shows that many people have this idea of what a disability looks like so when they don’t see their idea of a disabled person, they make assumptions.

It isn’t because our disabilities are hidden or invisible.

It isn’t even because people aren’t paying attention because they are.

If people weren’t paying attention, they wouldn’t tease or bully us, they wouldn’t question us or tell us to act more normal or to get over it or to stim less or to pay attention.

If people weren’t paying attention, they wouldn’t point out our differences or point out when we’re running late or why we’re limping or why we’re leaving early or why we’re saying no.

Oh yes, people are paying attention but most of the time, they associate these things with personal failings or flaws rather than a part of our disability.

Our disabilities are not hidden or invisible.

Our disabilities are misunderstood, denied and ignored by society.

I feel like instead of using hidden disabilities to create more visibility and awareness, we should be educating society on what it means to be disabled and challenging people’s assumptions around disabilities.

Are our disabilities hidden or are people ignoring our needs and challenges?

Are our disabilities hidden or are people making assumptions based on what they observe?

Are our disabilities hidden or do people have a lack of understanding of disabilities?

Our disabilities aren’t hiding.

Our disabilities are quite visible to us.

Our disabilities are quite visible to the people around us if they just listen to us.

literally i came into this like "I'm gonna write this ONE fic that I've got brain rot over from all the dissec fics I've read (What It Means To Be) and then never wrote again" and then I discovered Phic Phight and Invisobang and... well, now I have over 40 fics 😂 I think the one I'm most surprised about what was Welcome to Intro to Ghosts! Bc I'm not... exactly a humor writer. Although my dpxAngel crossover is also a surprise! (we live our lives like we're ready to die) ...big surprise these are the two I struggle to update...
