LIST: iOS SHORTCUTS
• Spotify to MP3 | "Download Spotify tracks to MP3." • All Media Downloader | "This shortcut helps you download content from social media apps." • Web Services | "Customise the internet for you." • Better GIF Maker | "Convert videos and live photos to GIFs at highest quality using ffmpeg" • Water Eject | "Powerful water ejection system." • Paywall and Cookie Bypass | "Bypass website paywalls and cookies." • iUtilities | "The only shortcut you’ll need" • Reverse Image Search | "Search by image instead of keywords" • Google Translate | "Quickly translate using the Google Translate API" • iTweak Final Version | "A Jailbreak Alternative With Multiple Features!"
...WHAT ARE SHORTCUTS?
for those unaware: the pre-installed Shortcuts app on iOS/macOS/iPadOS can potentially be a life-changing application in regards to digital productivity.
it's utilized as a hub for your collection of shortcuts and automations. shortcuts allow for just a single click—which many times is conveniently incorporated onto your "share" sheet option panel—to execute one or multiple actions; automations are chosen commands that run at specific/relative times of day without prompt.
people tend to overlook the Shortcuts app due to its available "gallery" of shortcuts being rather limited... with the only other option provided being to build these desired actions yourself, which requires the skill of digital coding. however! that's where RoutineHub comes in: it's a website allowing users to share their own complex shortcuts, free of charge, and has a large selection to choose from.

I recently discovered another oddity in the Unicode standards, so I'm gonna run a test. I'm fairly certain that this is operating-system dependant. On Linux (Zorin OS), these three characters are all different, with only one being an emoji. On iOS, however, one is broken and the other two are the same emoji. I'm assuming the same will happen on macOS, but I have no idea about Android and Windows. So, here they are:
Character #1: 🖶
Character #2: 🖨️
Character #3: 🖨
To see how these characters look on Zorin OS (Linux), check below this:
Tumblr media
Character #1 is Unicode character U+1F5B6
Character #2 is Unicode character U+1F5A8
Character #3 is Unicode character U+1F5A8
Yes, both #2 and #3 share the same Unicode value. That might explain why some operating systems don't differentiate them. However, it's still odd that some operating systems can tell the difference between the Emoji U+1F5A8 (Character #2) and the plain Unicode character U+1F5A8 (Character #3). I wonder why that is.

Fuck Linux.
Everytime I complain about a minor issue with Windows I get like 6000 tech bros falling over themselves to screech "JUST USE LINUX" at me. No. I won't use Linux. I have a full time job, medical issues I'm dealing with, friends I wanna hang out with, a game I'm starting work on slowly but surely, and hobbies that have nothing to do with software, and responsibilities as an adult who lives with other people on top of all of those things. And when you consider that combination of obligations and things I enjoy doing and want to do there's not much time for me spending 8 hours fighting with an operating system to make it run the EXEs for the emulators I like.
I don't have the time, will, nor desire to spend days upon days or possibly even weeks struggling through IT bullshit to make my computer do all the things I want to do. The windows computer I already have already works with at least 85% of those things right out of the box.
Sure, fuck Microsoft (though Valve is an awful company to buy LinuxBros get mad when you acknowledge that), and Windows has tons of issues of its own not including the outdated ones MACbros like Dankpods who's barely touched the operating system since Windows 7 think are still relevant (Yes I said something negative about Australian retro funnyman, cry about it.)
I am perfectly happy dealing with the annoying administrative permission issues, inexplicable performance drops doing something it handled perfectly fine yesterday, or apps not closing sometimes even when I go through task manager. Those and many other issues are all annoying but I'm accustomed to them.
My only direct experience with Linux in the last few years has been on my steam deck, and every problem I've had with the steam deck has come entirely from trying to download things through Desktop mode and having to deal with Linux. If there isn't a native Linux version of the program I want to run I have to jump through hoops after hoops doing research for hours as I try multiple methods, most of which fail and the rest seem promising then just won't successfully install for some inexplicable reason. Eventually like the 58th thing I try finally works and then I try and get something else working and that somehow BREAKS THE PREVIOUS THING!
All of which is compounded by this software having no native support for any of this so there's no official Linux support line I can reach out to for further assistance. I have to look up guides or forum posts and pray to the god I don't believe in that they're up to date which 9/10 times they aren't.
I'm glad you techbros enjoy spending 40 hours a week getting Linux to work for you, but I don't want every little thing I do on my computer to be a full time job. I have a lot of other shit going on in my life, including things I actually enjoy doing, and I don't have time. I'll stick with the operating system that works out the box.

My mood this evening has been "fuck Procreate & DOUBLE FUCK APPLE"
My ipad is running very low on storage. I cannot put an SD card inside it like my (android) phone so I bought an adapter (as well as an SD card bc the two I have are in my switch & my phone)
I cannot move Procreate to the SD card like how I can move apps on my phone to the SD card. Procreate hosts my art files inside the app itself & I cannot access those files from the files app. So I have to export the files to the SD card.
I spent a while trying to figure out some backdoor ish way of being able to move the original files instead of essentially making copies. I even looked up ios emulators (I have Nox installed on my laptop which is an android emulator) but the ones I found are for developers.
So now, after I had copied all my procreate files to this SD card, I have decided that I am going to be done with Procreate and just shell out the $5/month for CSP. So now I am exporting all my procreate files as PSDs so I can open them in CSP if I so choose.
EDIT: Okay now that I've slept, I'm less mad at procreate. I did end up deleting it last night, but I know that the devs are generally pretty chill (and against AI stuff last I checked) so saying "fuck procreate" is a little extreme. I will forever hate Apple though so they can still fuck off.

OMG... far too excited seeing this dev'd
"Brainfuck is an esoteric programming language created in 1993 by Swiss student Urban Müller. Designed to be extremely minimalistic, the language consists of only eight simple commands, a data pointer and an instruction pointer."

I just realized something weird about HITMAN: World of Assassination. Apparently it can recognize Mac keyboards (or rather, the lack of a Windows one)? From the screenshots I've found online, the main menu usually says
PRESS [Enter] TO PLAY
However, I play the game on macOS via WINE (CrossOver). My main menu says
PRESS [Return] TO PLAY
For those that don't know, Mac keyboards label the "Enter" key as the "Return" key. Therefore, the game somehow has the ability to know this. From what else I can find online, apparently SteamDeck and Linux players experience this, too. So that raises the question: Did IO Interactive give HITMAN: WoA the ability to detect if it's not being run on Windows? If so, did they assume that means you're playing the game via WINE on macOS? It seems if the game detects any other operating system than Windows, it shows the latter dialogue as opposed to the former.
Idk. It's not that big of a deal. However, I don't know anywhere else in the game that changes it's dialogue to match Mac keyboards (the keybinds still refer to Command as Alt), so it's certainly odd if IOI added WINE Detection for the sole purpose of changing a single key label on a screen most players won't even read in the first place.

Angreifer können Tastenanschläge einschleusen
Bluetooth besser ausschalten
